I agree with all of the other 5 star reviewers. I ordered No. 16 "The Wrecker". Portions here are no joke and a lot better value than any of the franchizzzy overly priced places. I had to wrap up half of it to go. These sandwiches are d-lish! The bread, Super fresh and if bread could melt in your mouth, this stuff would fit in that category. (they also have whole wheat) The ingredients- Fresh and are of good quality. Location is in a not so nice part of town, but if you can get past that then go there and enjoy what they have to offer. Owners are super friendly as well.

I drive way out of my way to get sandwiches here and always recommend it. It reminds me of the old school sub shops that used to be around before everything was a Subway. Fresh ingredients, awesome bread, huuuuuge portions and low prices. The best.

I've been here now twice and had consistently good subs. The meat is sliced as you watch and the bread is soft without getting soggy. There is nothing flashy or hip about this spot. The subs are just good comfort food in which you get exactly what you expect.

Just what I wanted! It's located in a crappy little strip mall/convenient store parking lot but it's very clean and respectable on the inside. The sandwiches are classic subs on fresh white bread. The meats and cheeses are sliced as you order and the veggie all taste fresh. It's not Subway, Jimmy Johns etc...just a classic style sub sandwich (much better). Prices seem reasonable and portions are great (full subs range from $5.95-$7.50). The staff seems very friendly and it appears there are lots of regulars. They also have bento and serve breakfast sandwiches and biscuits n gravy. I will definitely be back...

AMAZING service!!! Favorite quick lunch and amazing combo bento. The sandwiches are perfectly made with fresh sliced deli style meats and toppings enough to please any eaters inner Dagwood! I get the junkyard personally with a combo bento and extra rice. 10 of 10 recommended

This sandwich shop is right in the hood/ghetto. It is a "diamond in the rough." Sandwiches are some of the best subs in town. I love the bread it tastes so fresh. If you want a good sub I highly recommend you visit this place and order a sub sandwich.

Always fresh ingredients and bread and a huge selection of custom sub sandwiches. This family owned business business is a breath of fresh air in SE Portland. Keep up the great work!

My go-to sub spot. Ill choose these sub's over subway any day. They also serve bento and salads. Even breakfast! Mike and Sophia the owner are very nice and they even remember what I order every time. I recommend the tuna with avocado if you're a tuna fan

For a mom and pop sandwich shop these guys make a great sandwich and provide honest service. Haven't tried the Asian dishes yet but they seem to be popular.

Super good sub sandwich spot in the Portland area. Along with additional items like teriyaki plates, breakfast sandwich menu. Great fusion and well executed menu. Ingredients are always fresh and full of flavor. Try anything with bacon on it, very tasty bacon!! Great service as well. Kudos to them.

So this time we got a pastrami & salami and Turkey & bacon. I don't think there will be anything we don't like here. We got it to go this time and by the time we got home it was still fresh and not at all soggy.

Don't be scared of the exterior of this shopping center, the subs are good and the price is definitely right! So far I have only tried the subs, so I can't comment on the teriyaki and bento, but it sure did smell magnificent. The subs are not uber fancy, but still tasty, and seriously, $5 for a footlong and supporting a local business is hard to beat. The owner was very friendly and the inside of the restaurant is surprisingly nice! There's even a decent little view of Mt Scott. If you're in the mood for some cheap lunch, go check this place out!!

This guy has been making subs for several years now. I used to frequent it more when it was on my way to work. I moved and am not here as often. However I still swing by some mornings to have him make me a sandwich for lunch. The best part is watching him slice the meat and cheese fresh. By and far my favorite sub shop this side of town.

Very surprising, in a junky ESE Portland strip. Nice inside, with metal counter area and solid tables. Meats are cut after you order, and bread tastes fresh. Many sandwich options, and a handful of veggie/condiment additions. Sandwiches are long and aren't stuffed full of filler lettuce. Taste is very good, with the meat-bread-cheese-mayo-veggies all blending together nicely. Looking forward to going back!

You've driven by, seen the unappealing storefront and wondered if the food is good. Let me tell you: it's great. My go-to sandwich is the Turkey, Cream Cheese and Cranberry Sauce. The owner is friendly, fast and makes a gorgeous bento as well. The bread at Sub Factory is soft and tasty (unlike Subway). When we get sandwiches to go, they aren't soggy by the time we get home. Don't let the seedy Foster ambiance scare you. Come on in!

Even though I don't mind devoting extra time and precious extra mouseclicks towards adding this place to Yelp's directory, I still can't believe I'm the first one reviewing it. I've eaten at quite a few subs places around town and this mom-and-pop gastronomic outlet is right up there among the likes of Monkey's Subs and Beaverton Sub station over on the west side. Surprisingly, I find subs to be the food category that is very easy to screw up, despite the fact that both preparation and ingredients have nothing even remotely complex about them. You just know when your sub isn't done right. Not the case here, though. So far I've had 2 varieties of sandwiches at Original Subs (Junkyard and Wrecker) and I can surely attest to their comparative superiority over similar offerings elsewhere in PDX. Prices are very modest, especially considering the amount of food you get, menu is huge (they have separate breakfast and teriyaki options too, although I'm yet to try those), staff is polite and attentive. Granted, the neighborhood is rather sketchy and location isn't prime, being in-between laundromat and a convenience store, but if you are looking for a place that can satisfy your occasional sub craving(s), I'd highly recommend it. And, come on, people, get your arses over to the outer East side! We have quite a few places with untapped Yelp potential here too, despite what WWeek and Portland Monthly would make you believe.

Located in an old strip, looks are deceiving. Split a club and the taste buds and stomach were more than satisfied. THIS is how a sub should taste, not like the TV chain brand! Yum!!
