This is still our goto place for Pizza. Since added to the Menu, we've been getting the thin crust pizza. Very good. We don't drink beer, so can't comment on that.

Pizza was good. Service was a week bit slow. But it was an okay experience overall, I'd go again.

Our visit started out great. We got there and sat in the bar. The server was very friendly and helpful. She even let us taste their seasonal beer which was delicious. We ordered an artichoke dip as an appetizer. It came with garlic bread and veggies which we thought was interesting. But the artichoke dip tasted like nothing. I mean literally you could taste a stronger taste from the celery than the artichoke dip when dipping the celery. We ate as much as we could-which was actually quite a bit we sat and waited for a good 15 minutes between FINISHING eating the artichoke dip. Probably about a half hour total was spent from when we got our appetizer and our main courses. The bartender was nice the whole time, checking on us, apologizing, etc. We finally got our food and she apologized again. The only odd thing was that she offered us waters instead of another round of drinks- we were not sure if we weren't allowed to order more or what (we had only had 1 drink each so far). I was going to ask for another drink but then my friend made a weird noise and had confusion all over her face. She had swallowed a hair. Then after looking at her food more we discovered ANOTHER hair EMBEDDED into her meal which we physically pulled out of a sea of sauce and noodles (lasagna). The waitress was apologetic and the manager took it off of the bill but we could not really eat another one and I had the mac n cheese which I also found to be bland. So, we waited for our check and it was promptly given to us. We were a little disapointed that the manager did not even come over to apologize or do what a manager SHOULD be doing- especially in a corporate restaurant. If this had ever happened in any corporate restaurant I ever worked at, the manager would have been on it immediately and honestly would have taken off more than just the one person's meal because that is gross- everyone's food does come from the same kitchen after all, how am I to know there isn't hair in my noodles, too?. They were probably cooked at the same time, afterall. Overall, we left pretty unimpressed.

So, it's a chain. They still have a decent happy hour menu, a good variety of beers on tap, affordable mixed drinks (not too weak but not your dive bar strength), and delicious food. The bartenders are all friendly, and the atmosphere is average to comfortable. I'm not gonna knock it... Between the occasional free appetizer or $5 towards food and drink, and the beer t-shirt rewards, I like it.

I want to start with a positive the "Old Chicago" staff was friendly. Also I must admit I grew up in Chicago. . Too bad they were serving pizza that was not only nothing like Chicago but it was bad even for the crap they call pizza in Portland. It was bland and lacked even sauce. Real Chicago pizza has so much cheese and butter that it weighs in at over 1150 calories per slice. To put that into perspective 2 slices deep crust pizza sitting in Uno or Due in near north Chicago gives you all the calories for the day. The pizza at Old Chicago Portland has less then 15% of the cheese that Chicago pizza has. The sauce is watery and lacks for tomatoes and any butter, little garlic for flavor. Bottom line a real Chicago pizza has a huge layer of cheese covered by a thin layer of sauce and this "Old Chicago" pizza has like most pizzas sauce, with a sprinkling of cheese. Another thing that makes real Chicago pizza so great is that the dough has layers like pie dough. Better fly to Chicago or order online for good Chicago pizza then go to "Old Chicago".

Oh, gross... I distinctly remember this experience, as we were out shopping in the area. What I remember is thinking, "What awful pizza!! They should be ashamed to even call themselves a pizza place, much less carry the "Old Chicago" name." It was rather obvious that the workers checked out a long time ago in terms of caring and putting some pride into their preparation a while ago. Pizza that looks bad and tastes even worse. Not acceptable. And don't get me started on the customer service.... WHAT service? flagging people down and feeling desperate to get their attention is simply ridiculous. I surmise the sole reason for it not being defunct today is because of the sports bar aspect of the establishment (and are there great options in the immediate area?) I think I'm feeling generous (in not lowering this to one star), because the horrible lunch pizza meal here made me swear off all Old Chicagos since. Haven't patronized any of their franchises because I'm frankly too traumatized.

I first happened on this place looking for a place with a happy hour menu. As it turned out, I then took my sister here, and my father was on the next trip, and it has become a favorite place for pizza. They also have a nice selection of Micro-brews as well. If you stop in around Christmas ask for the Black Diamond, a seasonal brew made just for old Chicago. It tastes like dark chocolate. We usually order the Hawaiian Pizza, as in addition to Canadian Bacon and Pineapple it also has red peppers and sweet onions. The entire combinations of tastes all complement each other. Be assured that the red peepers and onions enhances the flavor and is by no means an overwhelming influence. The staff are very friendly and if they aren't busy will stop and chat with you If you don't' know what kind of Brew you might like they will let you do tasters to sample the different brews. There is classic rock music playing all of ht time, but not too loud. You and your party can still carry on a conversation with no problem. The prices are very reasonable for a sit down pace that serves you and provides good friendly service as well.

The Calzone I had was delicious! The sauce, the fillings, the bread, all really good. Our server was wonderful as well. A good place to get dinner; I look forward to going back and trying the pizza! :)

I just moved to this part of town and prior to living so close to Old Chicago I had only been here once for a Birthday party. That time and the next 3 times I have been the food was amazing the service was good but never great. I went again last night with two of my friends and had the worst server , he was friendly but i'm certain he never waited on a table in his life as he never checked on us or refilled our drinks. I ordered the dessert and nearly 10 min went by and be brought our check. At the same time he told me that the desert was sold out and he was sorry. Personally I think he forgot and did not want to admit it. I realize the place was busy (nearly all tables are full) but no manger came out to check on tables like most of the places do. I still have it a 4 star because this is the first time I had this experience but the next time I won't be so nice.

Good restaurant for a late night bite. Good drinks and the wait staff is super friendly. Wish they had more variety on the late night menu, or if happy hour went to closing.

We arrived and it took about 15 minutes before my beer arrived. Then we ordered and it took almost an hour before or food arrived. We were about to leave when our food finally arrived. Don't come here tonight.

  • Amy A.

Went in to eat my free birthday pizza ordered some mozzarella sticks as well. The mozzarella sticks were some of the best I have had in a while!! I used to always get the "trio", but they switched it up and it is not as good so I don't go there as often as I used to, but the food was good as was the service!!

  • Jason H.

The gf and I both ended up sick after eating here tonight. The service was crap. I had to ask for a fork to eat my pasta with. Waiter kept complaining about being understaffed as if we care.

  • Shanna J.

Okay let me just start off by saying my husband and I came at a busy dinner time on the weekend and our start here was not the best. We sat in the bar and felt very ignored for at least 10 minutes before our waitress finally showed up. But when she did, she really turned the experience around. She was super friendly and super fast. Our wait time was barely non-existent and like I said she was super friendly and helpful. She gave us the best service I've gotten from ANY waitress/waiter anywhere in quite a long time so we tipped her heavily. Her name was Tina, and she was a blessing. Old Chicago, if you're reading this you better give that lady a raise, she gave us the best service we've ever had there.

  • John K.

After my favorite Olive Garden was a 45 minute wait. My lovely lady and I decided to go up the street. I had a salad and pomgeranite lemonade. It was very sweet and sour. But the waitress offered I could switch to a strawberry lemonade if I wanted. The service was good. they got us in with no wait. and we caught the end of the football game. The cheesecake dessert was good and was happy with the service. We 've been here a few times. If you go definitely try the artichoke dip.

The sauce is pretty bad. Got a cheese pizza. Me and my girlfriend had the runs for 2 days after eating it. Only thing we ate that day do couldn't have been anything else. Just gross. They used to be good about 6 years ago but have gone way down hill

This was literally the best experience I have ever had at any restaurant. My Bestfriend and I went to celebrate our move to a better location and we thought of nowhere better to go then Old Chicago, because unlike the overrated McMennamins, Old Chicago actually makes their calzones fresh. McMennamins makes their's in the morning with no alterations possible i.e. No mushrooms. First off when we got there we realized that my buddy forgot his wallet back at the house. We asked Megan (the most wonderful server I have ever had! Anywhere ever!) to hold our place as we went back to get the wallet. She did so without a problem. When we got back she welcomed us and had perfect suggestions for beers. We mentioned that we wanted to each get a different calzone and cut it in half so we could get a half of eachother's (experience all the flavors) she made a request to make 4 half sized calzones rather than cut in half because it would have made a mess and not been nearly as good. That was wonderful! The half sized calzones were perfect! As we were sitting there we were curious about the WBT (World Beer Tour) she took the time to explain to us the rewards cards and how the WBT works. we each had one half sized calzone left she brought us the boxes and as we were waiting to pay our check my buddy and I got caught up in a passionate discussion regarding movies and incredible actors. We ended up leaving with our boxes still on the table. I called and she remembered exactly who I was and told me to come back and get it. (Eventhough unbeknownst to me they were closed) we rushed back and Megan let my buddy in to grab the food! Even had it all bagged up! The cooks made absolutely wonderful calzones! Especially regarding the request. Again Megan was absolutely incredible. I'll be coming back all the time especially since I now live nearby! Thank you Megan for your over and above service!!!

The food has really gone downhill. It has always been a go-to spot when looking for a beer selection with kids in the group as they have about a half-billion beers on tap and in bottles to go with the full menu. Unfortunately, nobody in our group of five enjoyed our food. Everything that didn't come out of a tap or bottle was disappointing, I left hungry and annoyed.

    (2)
  • Brian O.

Great place for a quick bite and a beer. Nothing special but for a neighborhood bar it's cool.

    (5)
  • Martin H.

This place isn't bad, but it isn't anything extraordinary either. Food is okay, bottle beer selection is large and for me the service was okay. The only issue I have, and I think it's already been said, is that for the same or lesser price there are plenty of other selections out there. Would I go back... Yeah, but It would be hard to choose this place over any of the other chain places around.

  • Michelle A.

We had a delicious jalapeño pretzel and then ordered a big cookie. Sadly the cookie disappointed us. Majorly lacked flavor. There were very little chocolate chips. Our server was great and handled it well. She had noticed the lack of chips too. They credited the cookie and ice cream back. We give four stars for how they handled the complaint and for the delicious pretzel. We would try them again.

Visits here have definitely got a lot better! The food is seriously to die for! Try their pizzas and their new appetizers! The staff is very friendly and attentive. Its seriously a really good spot for football Sundays too! ;)

We've gone here quite a bit because of the sheer variety. Huge rotating beer list (including cider!), and a lot of choices in food. I usually get the calzone or wings. Service has been fine every time we've gone.

    (4)
  • Daniel B.

I am torn between three and four stars, I just don't feel that I can justify a fourth star. I come here when passing through the area a couple times a year, I come for the Italian nachos and enjoy a beer as well. I am happy to see in the bottle selection that they had a Belgian quad, it wasn't one I had heard of, but I enjoyed it all the same. The pizza is sub par for a pizza oriented place, and with the name old Chicago it would lead you to believe they have a real Chicago style pizza, which I have yet to find on the menu. Chicago style is not deep dish.

I only go to this OC when the 82nd one had a huge/long wait time. I have been to this OC 3 times. AND for the 3rd time, I am disappointed. So much so, that I think I will not be back. Our server was AWFUL! She couldn't get anything right. We got out appetizer AND salad the same time we got our pizza... The place just seems dirty - maybe that is because there is a strip joint across the street?!?!?! I don't know...I am just highly disappointed every time I have been here.

Big rotating beer list. Love this place for beer and service. The service is always top notch. The food is a hit or miss sometimes and that's why only 3 stars.

Old Chicago is a large chain based in the Great Lakes. If you've been to that region these restaurants are everywhere. Meanwhile, there's a pocket of them in Colorado and the Portland area, too. Compared to local Chicago style pizza Old Chicago falls short. However, in the Portland area there isn't much better. Most folks actually believe this is comparable to the slices you'd find a Giordanos and Lou Malnattis, the two famous small chains in Chi-Town. What Old Chicago does boast is a fun, upbeat atmosphere, where pizza lovers can watch sporting events on big screen TV's and drink beer and if that's what you're seeking this spot will treat you right. Of course, service varies by the waiter/waitress you get, but it should be fair, at best. If you're going to come get the deep dish, rather than the thin crust. Deep dish is their specialty. The salads are average, yet get the job done and we've had to shy away from the dozen or so appetizers, simply because they are greasy and don't taste like they are made on site. Regardless, if you come here for pizza and beer, you'll leave full, that's for sure.

  • Thay V.

The atmosphere is pretty cool and it is a family type restaurant. I do not frequently come here but when I have its usually good. The pizza here is good and I love the deep dish. The beer selection isn't bad and the price is moderate. The staff is friendly and make good recommendations. There is a private parking lot with plenty of spaces available to park. They are generally very busy here on the weekends and evenings. This is a good family type restaurant and I would come back and eat here. Service is generally good here as well.

I always love getting the Calzones whenever I'm at any Old Chicago's, they make probably the best Calzones in the Northwest IMO. The service at this Old Chicago, is just as good as the one in Boise, very friendly and very prompt, they make sure you dont wait long to get your food and drinks. I really love the variety of beers they have here, always can get something different, or try something new! Can't think of anything negative to say about them- we will be back! And I would HIGHLY recommend them!

  • Marissa L.

Woohoo! First time here and it's pretty good. Lots of beer to choose from, the bacon cheese fries are bomb! Pizza was surprisingly just ok... Waiters and host was attentive and nice. I'll be back

Hit or miss I've had some good pizza here before in the past I just can't exactly remember when my wife will never go back most of the time when I go out and eating for free because I messed something up and I send it back Review the pizza not the bar or tvs come on people

After a corporate meeting a group of fellow managers decided to meet up here for a bite to eat. I've never been to Old Chicago, and was interested to see what they were all about. Anyway, they found a table to fit our group size without issue, and we were off. The menu actually has a lot of really interesting dishes and the prices aren't half bad. The service given from the associates was very good. The downside is the wait time and attention to detail, which is why this Old Chicago location only gets a 3 star rating. The food, atmosphere, and service from the associates were great, to note, hence the 3 stars that were given. Several issues: I'm not a fan of ice in my drinks. I don't have sensitive teeth, or wonder what might be in the ice... I just don't like ice diluting my drink and taking up space for more liquid. I asked for a drink without ice, and I got a drink with ice - which is a major pet peeve of mine. I'm not going to be the guy that sends it back, but even another person in my party commented, "didn't you order your drink without ice?" Loss of a star there. The bigger of the two issues was the overall wait time. I get that when a party of 15 wander in, wait times will increase... but during the lunch hour, I expected that it wouldn't take 30 minutes to get something as simple as a grilled chicken and apple walnut salad. The checks took another 20 minutes. All in all, the food was great, the atmosphere enjoyable, and the personality/client service of the associates inviting... but the wait time and attention to detail was a major issue for me. I will definitely go back to Old Chicago (in Cedar Hills/West Hills where I live), but I don't know if I'd try this location again.

My ultimate favorites that I always get over and over again is 1) Chicken pesto panini 2) Oh my spaghetti pie 3) BBQ bacon cheddar burger & for drinks I am hands down strawberry mojito, the best I've had! And they have the best appetizers!!! Great place to go kick back with a few friends with drinks and delicious appetizers!

    (4)
  • Cyn M.

This place was okay but nothing special. The pizza is NOT true Chicago deep dish, is just giant crust. Happy hour looks okay, and the late night prices look great, but i think that's the only time I'll go back...

    (3)
  • Mandy S.

Great food. Long beer list that changes/rotates. Happy hour is decent. The oh my spaghetti pie with marinara is my favorite. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars from me is because the service is very inconsistent. They have a huge staff turn over rate here and sometimes service is great and sometimes, not so much.

  • Mike K.

Disclaimer: I'm from Chicago. There is nothing more frustrating for a hungry Chicagoan than a place that claims to make Chicago style pizza, and comes up way short in the delivery. Like 95% of the pizza on the west coast, it was just your basic, boring pan style Dominoes attempt at pizza. The "personal deep dish" looked like a kids pizza at the Hut. Our nachos platter was great, and a lot more than expected, so that's a plus. If you're looking for a sports bar to watch the game on TV, have some OK beers and scarf down some tasty appetizers, you could do worse than Old Chicago. Update: I have since been back for a BBQ bacon burger and a good beer, and the meal was much better than my first attempt getting the pizza.

  • Mars M.

Great service, tremendously good food, comfort food to the max, the best calzones on earth, a wide variety of options. It would almost sound like I like this joint, that's because I do. The prices were very reasonable and meal plus a beverage under $10 amazing. My only complaint would be that the restaurant really needs a facelift it seemed dingy, chair I sat in I certainly did not feel stable it was still wobbling so I had to search for one on my own. I know it has incredibly high ceiling but a professional cleaning crew once a month could clean it up easily I just personally think it needs a facelift. Will it prevent me from returning in the future not at all.

For pizza, you can choose either the thicker Chicago style crust or the thin crust. Lots of pre-selected pizzas (ex. Hawaiian, all-meat, etc.) or you can select your own. Regular drinks are refillable. We didn't order anything else from the menu except a diet Pepsi, a raspberry lemonade, and a large 14" Classic which had pepperoni, ground beef/sausage pieces, and mushrooms. The pizza was tasty and service was good.

  • Terry B.

Service was slow. Waited 10-min to get menu and 25-min for chicken salads, that were not very good mediocre at best

it dialed a ride. they have pizza, beer, and a pizza bagel with nacho cheesy sauce thats REAL GOOD. max price, bad music, great place to watch a game.

  • Adam C.

The pizza is okay and the beer selection is good. But there's plenty of other, less chain restaurant feeling, places that serve good pizza around. Plus service there has been mediocre at best. And we went there on election night and they were playing sports! Depending on your outlook that is either patriotic or very unpatriotic. I vote for the latter.

  • Jeff E.

I'll give them an incomplete at best. We are two guys who were seated at a booth that turned out to be next to a large table with several moms all with their newborns in tow. We had a nice view of these kids in diapers sitting on the table. Ok, so there were plenty of other booths open but whatever. Well after observing the waitstaff walking by at least 5 times in 15 minutes not even acknowledging we were there and trying in vain to get their attention, we decided we'd had enough waiting. So headed over to Elmers down the street and at least got some service there!

  • Erin K.

Things are pretty much just "ok" here, which is pretty much what I expected. The beer was the highlight with so many choices and he couple I tried were nice and hoppy, just the way I like them. We tried the pizza rolls and the pasta chips nacho, and I found the rolls to be quite tasty, while the nacho seemed to be lacking in something. We shared a large Chicago seven pizza with original crust and found it to be a bit too doughy (we'll go for thin crust next time). The Big Cookie was a nice sharable treat to top off the menu, and it came with ice cream too!! I would like to check this out for Happy hour in the near future, but otherwise, I don't think I will be a regular here.

We took our out of town visitor here. She ordered salad before her meal - never got it. My daughters chicken fingers were dark brown, hard - very overcooked. My hubby did not like his sandwich. My son & I both like our menu choices. I don't know if they were short staffed the day we went (9/8/12) but we hardly saw our server. We were near the end of our food by the time she came back to "check on us" which is when we sent my daughters overcooked meal back. Wait staff not so friendly. Will not return.

Old Chicago is a trendy little chain that apparently started in Colorado, but it is a bit known here in Portland. It is a restaurant, but also a bar and the cool thing is that they split the bar area where no one under 21 is allowed to go, with the area where little children can go run around and not bother me while I am drinking one of their 110 different beers. They switch out the seasonal beers which is really neat, so you get variety in summer, fall, winter, and spring. The winter brews are very dark and rich. I tried a beer in the summer once called, Sunshine Wheat, I think, and it pretty much smelled like flowers and kind of tasted like flowers but with the beer taste. It was pretty interesting, but not really my type. They have this thing called the World Beer Tour, where you are given a card and it tracks the beers you drink. Once you have drank all 110 beers from different parts of the world you get your name put on the "Famous Hall of Foam" and just bragging rights really. You can drink at any Old Chiago's and it counts. I thought that was pretty sweet. It makes you try new things and win a challenge that anyone can really win. But remember, your not doing this in one night, if you do, that is a challenge you certainly may fail. The food is pretty good, however they have recently changed their menu and it has less things on it then the old menu. The old menu was everyone's favorite. My father was not very pleased when they did this, but he still goes there for the beer and service. Danika (spelling may be wrong) was the one working while I was there is last time and she is delightful. She is super sweet and always notices when your drink is low so she can get you a new one. Good job Danika, sorry if I spelled your name wrong! The Sicilian pepperoni rolls on the appetizer section are pretty dang tasty. Lots of pepperoni flavor all up in your mouth gracing your taste buds. Meat Me pizza is also great and my brother scarfs down their calzones every time he is in there. Go hang out after work, have a snack, a beer, and enjoy. Or go watch a sports game. Football is good to watch there. Go Eagles !

The hostess seemed disoriented and distracted. Human nature, maybe, but that shouldn't be evident professionally. Especially when the place was calm and not so busy. The waiter asked our drink order and walked away without a word. When he came back maybe 15 minutes later, he walked away again after dropping off our drinks. We had to let him know we were ready when he was. He admitted he forgot to take our order then did so. Our dinner came out after quite some more time and it was actually pretty good. So kudos there! But our waiter not once checked up on us and left us there after our dinner was done for a while. I walked up to the counter to pay and the other waiter who helped us (by bringing out our entree order) promptly gave us the check. I wouldn't be all uppity about the experience if it were busy, but it wasn't and most of them still couldn't handle adequate food service tasks. Plus, the waiter was just kind of discourteous. Cute, but discourteous.

My kind of town, Chicago is... Ah, the Windy City. The wonderful destination that has given us deep dish pizza, the loveable loser Cubs, Jack Benny, Bob Newhart, Elwood and Jake Blues, Harry Carey, Gillian Anderson (whom I still continue to have an honest to God, major Scully crush on...oh man, to be trapped in a dark scary basement with her and nothing else but our flashlights ...oh sorry, I wander), House Music, the Chicago Seven, the Super Bowl Shuffle...and Old Chicago Pizza. (Insert sound or needle being scratched off the record) Huh, what, hold up, wait...yeah, kind of a let down isn't it? Well, surprisingly this recent dining experience wasn't for a change. Being one of my favorite cities not situated on the Left Coast (which will always be the best coast), I almost cringe that Chicago has its name at the forefront of a chain of mediocre pizza joints. Yet while I obviously am not a big fan of this establishment, amazingly I left marginally impressed after a recent stop with the TLB at the Mall 205 location. This is a newer location and has a little more character and overall cleanliness then the 82nd version. We dropped in during happy hour for a quick beer and bite to eat. First off, they can always be counted on for a great beer selection, and being able to order a Walking Man IPA started the night of right. We each ordered a dinner salad off of the happy hour menu, and shared the pepperoni pizza rolls and chicken wings. While the rolls were a little on the dry side (although this was overcome by submersion in marinara sauce), everything else was well above average. We sat in the bar and our server was right on top of everything, even while serving multiple tables during a busy stretch. Despite it being a smoking friendly area, they have a great circulation system and we left without our clothes and hair reeking of cigarettes. They have several plasma TV's broadcasting various sporting events, which makes this a pretty darn good place to catch a game. Overall a really good experience... Old Chicago is my kind of...well, let's not go overboard.

What happened to this place? Yuck. I've eaten better food out of a box. Only go here if you are there for an intersting selection of beer.

There is no shame to me that I am liking this place. This has been my secret oasis after my long work days. I would come over here, get my Stella on draft and order my sampler trio. You cannot dislike this amount of beer on tap especially if you like beer! (Duh) Service always have been decent here for me. I guess I was a regular at the bar and they all seemed pretty darn friendly. I have not really dined here at all though. I am ALWAYS at the bar for a light snack around 11PM and then head home. Dunno if I would be dining here any time soon, but I will be a the bar!

I'm pretty easy to appease, I like my food greasy at times, and usually I'll finish whatever isn't eaten at the table, but this place was unpalatable. My mother and I came here last night as she is leaving for Mexico and said she preferred not cook the day before she left. I figured, why not go visit old mom and try out a new restaurant. Wroooong decision. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger. It was extremely over cooked, it bordered on inedible. I picked away and got a side of ranch to dip the sawed off pieces of burger in to help put them out of my misery. The highlight to the meal was the water which was clean and fresh, and the Artichoke Dip. It was a fairly fresh take on the whole ordeal, creamy and smooth with a nice taste to it. That said, one plus to a million minus' does not make up for squat. The first table we sat at, it felt like a fan was being blown directly on us. It was 51f out, it should have been heat if anything, but rather it was likely the dirty alley air. Lastly our waitress.... With the typical rusky party girl voice, lackadaisical approach to her job, and the sheer fact that she spent more time in the back likely with her boyfriend the dish washer than out front where she belonged, this solidified things for me. I asked for the ranch for my burger, there were 4 waitresses and 6 customers in the entire place. It took her 5 minutes to finally bring me my ranch. I'm over it. I can find a million better ways to spend my $30 next time. Match or lighter might work out just as well.

Everything here is just barely ok. The beer selection is the only reason to come here. You must drink enough beer to eat the "barely ok" food. I've had the pizza, the calzone, and the chicken parmesan sand(which I dont think they serve anymore). Maybe the owners should take a trip out to Chicago and see just how GOOD the food is out there before they name a restaurant after the windy city..

First of all, I go here for the beer. Though, it's unfortunate that they no longer have OId Peculiar. But anyway... Delicious pizza. The Double Deckeroni will fill you to the absolute brim. And it's good as well. Pizza is naturally greasy as heck, but hey, that makes the pizza good... right...? *crickets* Price is a little high, but not outrageous.

If only they had bigger TVs to watch ESPN, then I'd really have nothing to suggest. I like the pizza for the most part, except for the fact it's pretty filling. And the beer selection is on point with one-hundred and ten, or so, beers available. It's nice to know if you're trying to watch a game on TV that it'll be on when you get to there, too. Good atmosphere as well.

i went here with an open mind having not ventured into this kind of establishment since the last time i took my grandma out for dinner.with a recommendation from my friend i ordered the appatizer sampler which consisted of: cheesy garlic bread with marinara sauce, peperoni rolls and "Italian nachos". i subbed the peperoni rolls for artichoke dip and bread, just the sound of peperoni rolls brought back vivid memories of microwaved foods. for drinks i ordered a pomorito which i guess is a mojito made with pomegranate juice, it was really tasty but a bit too much alcohol. i know i know, can there really be too much alcohol? i admit i like a well endowed cocktail but this time it just made it taste a bit bitter. our food came out quickly and hot but they did forgot one of the kids milks. we waited for the server to come around but he didn't show up again until after we were done eating and by then the milk was a bit too little too late. the artichoke dip was good, not the best I've had but decent, the "Italian" nachos were..um..different. it was about 5 chips with a bit of mozzarella cheese on it, 2 pepperonis, a couple pieces of sausage and a ton of pepper-chinos. it was lacking in more than one area and quite disappointing. the chips they used were good though if only there were more then 5 there. After this i was still hungry (big bummer considering the price of the dish) so i began nibbling my friends food. she got the same thing except kept her pepperoni rolls insisting they were delicious... and they were. i ate half of one but she snatched it back before i could finish. i was forced to watch her eat them while i drooled. it was like a tiny calzone in my mouth mmm. after she was done torturing me we ordered desert. i got the cheesecake and she got a cookie Ala mode. the server comped her desert becasue of the milk incident. the desert was nothing special but i was surprised at the presentation. the cheesecake had a caramelized top and the plate was beautifully decorated with sugar. the bill came and for the price i felt a bit disappointing . I've had so much better for so much cheaper and i left the restaurant still hungry and craving pizza.

You know that friend that so many people have? Let's call him "Old Chicago" or OC for short. OC is your dude through thick and thin, and he makes those killer pepperoni rolls that you always crave despite how inauthentic they are to true Chicago cuisine. Yet OC can be such a pain in the ass without even trying. He lets you watch sports in his expansive home, but in lieu of a few huge screens, he hangs a scattering of smaller ones in odd places that make you crane your neck in an unhappy position. His happy hour food selections are dollhouse-sized versions of his regular menu items. You can't argue because the prices are lower, but you can't help feeling like dear ole' OC is stiffing you somewhat. His happy hour burger baskets, in particular, remind you of the hamburger phone from "Juno" in scale. And OC's choice in music consists of the worst radio station ever perpetuated by chimps in suits. Seriously - the Steely Dan song was the best of the bunch. That's how awful the music is. But you know you'll keep hanging out at OC's place for the size and his generous offering of booze and for the spectacular pepperoni rolls. Still, couldn't OC try a bit harder? Is he too confident in his niche as sports-friendly chain eatery to change? Might he, at the very least, try less sucktastic piped-in music, perhaps some Sirius Alternative 80s for Businesses for starters? Come on, OC, don't force me to settle for English muffin pizzas at home.
