Sure, It's a DIVE,,,, but hey,,, The beer is cold, the locals are friendly and the food is good.

I love this place a lot I give it five stars staff is very friendly the wings are excellent and so much entertainment and stimulation going on it's just great to be around this place its very close to my house and the bus lines and it's the first place that I felt comfortable in Portland Oregon since I've been here it's absolutely awesome
(5)Krystal F.
This place is just what you would expect to find at a neighborhood sports bar. Food has never disappointed me. Drinks are great...they always have at least two ciders to choose from. Great place to watch the game and the staff is always super nice!
(5)Julio A.
Good, cheap drinks, good bar food (although they could do better with their salads, but then again, why am I getting a salad with my beer?!?), and the most amazing thing ever: Chocolate Pudding Shots!!! SO good. Staff is chill, friendly, and reasonably quick. I go back often enough, you should to! :) OH...and they've got a great patio out back - great in good weather!
(4)Wydra O.
Five stars, only because I love Miguel! (January M. is also very credible.Read her reviews, she's brutally honest. )FOUR stars for John, taking on such a project, pulling it off nicely, cleaning it up,and keeping the awesome staff. The customers are neighborhood-style,new BFF's , and knowledgeable.I see a full on five star future for the place when it gets where it's going.

Very good food. Had some late night munchies, so I settled with Greeley Bar and Grill as that is the closest to me. Ordered the Whiskey BBQ bacon burger with fries. A little on the spendy side but well worth it. The burger, after the first bite all I could hear were whistles and sirens in my head. Perfect nail on the BBQ love (sauce). Very sweet, tangy and a nice sexy kick to it! Now the fries, nothing special. Just bland over salted fries. Please do something to stand out a bit more, drop a little pinch of garlic salt and maybe some pepper. That's my only beef with them. Warning.... The burger is enough alone to send you to night night land.
(4)Frannie h.
I like it here! reasonable prices, lots of games (my fav is the trivia you play with the hand consoles), friendly service, nice patio for people watching and decent burgers. They have Double Mountain IRA on tap too - yum! Def recommend for any NoPo locals. Not so special I'd drive across town for it, but
(4)Mary W.
Nice neighborhood sports bar.
(4)Andrea L.
I like this place. In a perfect Yelp world, this would be a 3.5. Dark inside, but fairly large and comfortable, this place seems to appeal to hipsters and townies alike (they don't really use that word here in portland). They have a small parking lot and parking is not too difficult. They have 3 or 4 picnic tables & benches out front which is simply great on a nice day. You can smoke and Yelp the food trucks across the street to see which one you should try. The food is solidly average. I have only tried a few things, but they do not seem to have quite the culinary skills and priorities as their sister restaurant Mock Crest. NOTE: the same person is opening something new in St Johns soon! Drinks are relatively strong and not too pricey. Try their pudding shots. I am in LOVE. My biggest problem with this place is that when it's not crowded, the folks sit on the benches and think nothing of screaming to each other from one table to another. You may be outside, but it's still a restaurant, asshole. I don't want to hear every stupid word you say and not hear myself chew... Try sitting together like civilized folk.
(3)Gabriella Q.
Went here on my work lunch break with my coworker. Great food and great service! Burgers and fries/tots are super good. Especially the fries, they put some seasonings on them and it's really yummy. Will deff be back!
(5)Jake J.
Great staff, quality drink specials and pudding shots. The wings are awesome, be sure to ask for greeley sauce.
(4)Ashley S.
Holy amazeballs! My boyfriend, who grew up in Portland, talks about this neighborhood bar endlessly. My last trip down (I live in Seattle) we FINALLY had the chance to go and needless to say I will make sure that we are back there very soon! The atmosphere is absolutely perfect. The food was great. The staff was amazingly wonderful. And did I mention they have pudding shots? Yes, pudding shots. If you go for no other reason...go for the pudding shots. I promise you it is definitely worth it!
(5)Care C.
Yorgos??? YES PLEASE! I make sure and go every time I am in Portland. Not only is the atmosphere casual and kickback, the people are Awesome and friendly! The burgers are yummy. Never have left hungry. Drinks??? If you don't see what ya might like on their special board, might I suggest a pudding shot with a Strongbow back?? Man!!! I just made myself thirsty.....
(5)Jacob C.
The wife and I came here for a couple NFL games this past season and I am finally getting around to giving it a quick review. Pretty decent for a local tavern. A lot if TVs to watch games but a couple were a bit old and just happened to be which one they showed my teams games on. However, even with that and the fact that the food was just regular bar-grade fare we went back. Bartenders were always nice and even switch the game we were watching to a nicer, and larger, TV on one occasion. Decent selection of beer on tap, which included a couple craft beers. Overall, a decent place.
(3)Stephanie A.
Honestly, I didn't come here with high expectations on my Sunday night mission to find a local spot playing the basketball game, with cheap beer and happy hour! Lucky for me this place exceeded my needs and expectations. It might not look like much from the exterior but it's been modestly updated, there's plenty of seating and the beer/foods cheap during happy hour. What's even better is when you buy the Yelp Deal ($10 for 20) which you can use during happy hour.... you should go just for that. A round of beers for my three friends, some chicken wings, a bowl of home-made soup, buffalo wings (spicy) cost about $13 bucks with the YELP deal! The food was your typical bar offerings but there wasn't a crumb left so it was definitely up-to-par for me and my friends.
(4)Brittanie M.
I suppose this place is a standard neighborhood bar. It always seems to be busy. I've only been here once, so I can't speak a whole lot. But what I can say from my first visit, is that it was kind of an odd crowd and I guess it provided some entertaining people watching. The food really seems to be lacking though, even for bar food.
(3)Carol M.
We were reminded why we don't come here very often...poor service. First guy was quick to take our order and bring us a beer, then was never seen again. Another brought the food, then disappeared. The fourth person who helped us actually asked if we had a tab...shouldn't you know? The thing is, you can eat and drink for cheap...plenty of sports on their wall of TVs (though be warned if you are not watching the main event on the overhead screen you will be drowned out)...and they have redone the pool room which looks good (separated the poker machines)...but they need to figure out if they want to be a walk up only bar or provide a service. Either way, just make a decision.
(3)Troy K.
My sister lives down the road and I stop in every time I visit. Food is below average, except the tater tots. However, it's hard to screw up tater tots. Never been super busy when I'm there. Usually more people outside smoking on the covered patio than inside. Outside patio looks like a great place to sit on a sunny day, except for all the cigarette smoke. Service has always been good. Exceptionally good last Friday. Prices are awesome. IPA was only like $3.75. Where I am from (San Diego) IPAs are $6-8. Crowd is definitely male dominated. Seems to get a bit "thuggish" after dark. To sum it up, great place to have a beer/drink with no big expectations. Before it gets too late.
(3)Kelsie V.
Good Sports Bar feel. Lots of regular customers. They have nice food and drink specials-different everyday. Happy Hour is extensive-but inexpensive. Staff friendly, attentive and funny, you may see some of them at their sister bar-Mock Crest Tavern. They rotate taps, too. Great reliable beers, then they rotate some. I like to be out of here before 8pm, as some amateur-y type folks arrive. Busy place and lots to look at TVs and media everywhere. The hidden secret-back outdoor patio. Good place to have an affair or hide from someone. There's never anyone back there. Seriously, it is nice and comfy, but right in the middle of Greeley/Interstate neighborhood and traffic. They mix it up with different movie nights and video DJs. I love to try a new beer and dive into a Yorgo Burger or Hot Wings. Also, Brekky on weekends.
(4)Justin M.
Had the mozzarella sticks and the club sandwich which were very good. It was a nice neighborhood bar with lots of TVs and also a seperate more quiet part of the restaurant for people who wanted to converse in a quieter environment. Overall a very good experience.
(4)Kirsten H.
This is another good dive bar. It is cheap with lots of seating and a great place to catch a Blazer game. Basic bar food and good happy hour prices. This is also a fun place to go for karaoke.
(3)Troy W.
It's changed over the years. For the better I'm sure. Pros: Foods good... Service has gotten better... Drinks are solid. Con: I hate walking through a wall of smokers to get to the door. Sorry, the deck in nice. You've at least saved 2 tables for us non-smokers. But we still have to walk past the stink of smoke.
(4)T D.
First off, this place has improved greatly over the past couple years. It's been cleaned up, new furniture & tv's and the beer selection is on the right track. The front half is more of the sports bar section with lots of televisions for watching games. The bar is cramped and has some odd/tight sections that make it difficult to get cozy or see any of the games. The people working there were nice and the food was average for what you'd expect from the looks of things. Our server said the menu is being revamped. Every time I go here, things get better. It just takes a while to go from horrible to decent.
(2)Todd S.
Well, it's a dive, with one corner a makeshift sports bar, and another a why-work-when-I-can-play-video-poker-all-day compound. It's not a place I would go out of the way for, but I was pleasantly surprised by the rotating taps; which happened to have a couple fresh-hopped brews at the time.
(3)Greg C.
Great food, great atmosphere!! Recent remodel, overall very impressed. And you can play shuffle board, pool and watch sports with breakfast!! Try it! You'll like it
(5)Don B.
I think Yorgo's is trying to be a little sneaky here. As I rolled up to the bar the other day I noticed that the sign had changed from "YORGOS" in big black letters to "Yorgo's Greely Ave Grill" (and the "Yorgo's" part was pretty small and inconspicuous). Upon entering, I was greeted with a scene quite unlike what I had expected. Let's just say between the name, the location, and past reports from friends and acquaintances, I was expecting to roll in heavy, armed to the teeth, and ready for anything. All I needed was a smile, some $$, and a will to drink stiff well drinks and eat greasy food, and that's what I had. Yorgo's gave me what I needed with a smile and some better than average service. No passed out drunks, no scary hobos, no toothless knife wielding meth-heads, no annoying, cracked out hookers... nope, none of those things. Just a few regular neighborhood folks enjoying some strong drinks on a Saturday night. I could get down with that if this were my neighborhood, which it's not, but lacking the honest-to-goodness crack-head cred or something otherwise as special and outstanding, it's simply another neighborhood bar with a not-robust-enough beer list to drag me across town. But hey, the nice guys working the bar and prompt on the service were worth 4 stars. Plus, they have corn dogs on the menu.
(4)adam p.
Nice spot to catch a game, play a game or do some drinking games. I slight notch above your standard bar far but good portions and fresh cut fries! Decent beer selection and really impressed with the service. With the yelp deal it was a darn good deal too!
(4)Linda F.
Remark on the shuffleboard comment from a previous review: I arrived Friday night at 9:15pm to see a band, and there was no one on the table. But, shortly thereafter, folks arrived and it was taken. So it depends... Remark on an earlier beer (as in lacking) comment: They had not one but two Ninkasi beers on tap. Nuff said. 3 stars are because my expectations were very very low and it was everything I expected plus good beer and attentive cheerful service.
(3)Well-Traveled I.
Dive bar with good drinks and good food. By the time I got here with my buddy, I had a little buzz going on and was hungry. Couldn't remember the drink as much, but the bacon cheeseburger was tasty; wasn't greasy and you could actually taste the bacon. Interesting crowd when we were there, but much better than being overcome with hipsters.
(4)Amanda W.
This is your typical dive bar, but with shuffleboard! It has an awesome happy hour during regular happy hour hours and then another happy hour that starts at 11pm for people who go out later at night. The food offered is your typical bar grill food, I only had the tator tots so I can't really comment about the food. Overall, strong drinks and cheap prices, nice bartenders.
(3)Jessica B.
I am totally in love with their bloody marys. They're amazing. Also lots of sports, strong drinks and pretty good food. It's a good place to hang out on a cold Portland Sunday.
(4)Julie M.
Big breakfasts and a daily special sometimes draw me in here even when it is not for live music or beer. Locals can be really amusing...as some of us might be ourselves. A neighbor hood dive bar with great Craft brews on tape and always something to eat. They have an awesome VIDEO Juke-Box night now and then - bring friends don't miss it! Groups come to watch multi-screen SPORTS. Boy, they cheer loud under the influence. A caveat - I usually try to hold my breath when entering and exiting, since the friendly Smoking area is the covered picnic table area out front. Often I give up my offended posture and and visit a minute. Bet you will, too. If not, stay in Lake Oswego. Ok - maybe I diidn't just say that, lol. The newish back Patio is not a bad place, and totally away from traffic. There is a TV out there too, so you wont miss your game. I bet next summer you'll see people Vaping back there. GREELY and Killingsworth Bus lines go here. Easy. Staff are pros, and will try to make it right if something goes wrong. Just let them know. Cheers!

So, what if Portland had a Dave & Busters....how cool would that be? Well, I dare say we do. Except it's a much smaller, fold up and carry in your back pocket sized version. And it's called Yorgo's Greeley Ave. Bar & Grill. Walked in with a friend for lunch yesterday and saw a pool table, foosball table, skee ball game, shuffleboard, video golf and bowling, trivia cards on the tables, sports on lots of TVs, rockin' 80's tunes playing, and of course Oregon lottery slot machines. If you can't find a way to entertain yourself at Yorgo's, you just shouldn't go outside. Ever. Steph, our server, is this little bundle of energy bouncing around the place singing and dancing to the tunes.....prolly doesn't do that when it gets busy, but there weren't many folks in Yorgo's save the regular ol' timers at the bar. She said the lunch special was Rueben and said it was awesome. Well, Steph doesn't lie!! Very good sammich.....my friend had the club and fought to get her mouth around it (yeah, surprised me too...she can usually unhinge her jaw like a python... *ducks*). Anyway, she brought half the sammich home. We both had the Cajun tots which were also good. Best sight of day - A guy had played a bunch of songs on the jukebox and I walked up to the bar right as some 60's rock song was ending. He's sitting at the bar by himself, sunglasses on, watching the jukebox thingy play (or maybe staring at nothing, who knows?) and as the song ends, he kinda punches the air and says, "Yeah!" to nobody in particular. I was going to tell him he should run and get a concert T-shirt before they sell out, but decided just to leave him be at his show. Had it not been for the impending traffic crush to get back across the bridge, we could have stayed at this place for quite a while. Will be back soon!!
(4)Chelsea C.
We rolled in, hungover, a party of 6 and the waitress could not have been more accommodating or helpful. We changed tables 3 times, from the front patio, to the back and eventually inside because of the heat and sun. The dark atmosphere was the perfect place to sip a bloody mary and recuperate. If you like greesey hangover bar food this is the PLACE for you! 5 STARS!! The Saturday morning waitress is the perfect example for anyone in the service industry. The chocolate pudding shots are a MUST. Buy two for you and 1 for everyone at the bar! Will come back again and again.
(5)Amy W.
Long wait, bad food. I called in my order, hoping to cut down on the wait. I was told on the phone that my order for 3 burgers with tots would take 20 minutes. When I showed up 20 minutes later, I was told it would be 20 more minutes, but it actually took 30 more minutes. No apologies, no offers of soda while I wait. Food. Bad. My hamburger was unseasoned and burned to a crisp. Seriously, the edge of the patty was charcoal black and crunchy and dry. It had MAYBE a tablespoon of sauteed mushrooms. So bad. Additionally, I think each of us had a very small handfull of tots. I actually think the cook split one order between us. I really wanted to like Yorgo's but the staff (especially the female bartender that took my order) was rude, food was sub-par and the wait was ridiculous. I opened this yelp account solely for this review. That's how upset I am. $32 flushed down the drain. Very disappointing.
(1)Emily T.
I wish I liked this place more; it's close to home, has shuffleboard, and I love a dark & divey place where you can order some beer and a sandwich and just chill. But there is something about it that's just...off. The "regulars" seem a little scary and the service is hit-or-miss. The food isn't very good, even for bar food. I know the same owner does Mock Crest too, but I think the food here is worse. Generally kinda unfriendly and unsafe feeling.
(2)Tierney C.
Best dive in NoPo. Friendly staff, once a bartender accidentally spilled a drink in my general vicinity and gave me a pint glass sized vodka drink as an apology. My boyfriend and I live about a mile away and always find ourselves here when we want a pitcher of PBR and bar eats. Never disappoints.
(5)Foster N.
Went there last night with some friends to watch Monday Night Football. Beer selection was good. I had the turkey melt sandwich, and for some reason their "Roasted Turkey Breast" was shredded deli turkey. It made the sandwich a bit of a mess. Also, I'd recommend Tots over fries, as they were soggy and overcooked. The service was terrible. It took forever to have our order taken. When the waiter came back with our beers, he put mine down and spilled it over the table and an empty chair. He quickly left, me thinking he'd gone to grab a towel, then he never came back. Had to clean up his spill ourselves with napkins. Food took a long time to come out, even though there were few people there. Once we got our food we were completely ignored. Empty plates and empty pint glasses all around. My friend went up to the bar and asked if we could get another round, bartender said the waiter would be right over. Five minutes later the waiter is standing behind the bar looking into space. I had to wave him over to get our second round of drinks. So mediocre food, decent beer selection, insulting service.

I'm so happy to write a review. I've been looking for a cordial place to watch the blazers games on the Killingsworth strip. All other places on that strip seem to have much smaller tvs. I liked the 120 projection screen along with the smaller tvs in this bar, which I had not been to before last weekend. I organized a group to watch the game there and everyone who came said they really enjoyed the space and service, and plan to return. The responsive and friendly service, hearty portions and reasonable prices stand out. Expect bar food--it's not "special," but they did a good job with it and it was a nice experience in comparison to ordering from pretentious or lazy menus that fall short, at other locations close by. My diet's limited so I couldn't eat much of the food, but others ordered tots, hamburgers, grilled cheese, poppers and were happy. Comfort food in a comfortable setting--and it didn't hurt that the blazers won handily, on top! I'd be happy to go back and invite friends there again.
(5)Rick S.
It's the saddest place on earth
(1)Paddy P.
Have been going here for many years. Try.the Out and In Burger if they offer it on a night you're in. It's as close to the In and Out Burger I've had here in Portland. University of Portland crowd in the evenings and weekends. Nice neighborhood bar.
(4)Anna B.
Yorgo's is on my list of Shitholes of Epic Proportions. You know, places that when you look closely, are indeed shitholes, but there's still something lovable and impressive about them? And you continue to go back. And then you make some pals. And you start to forgive things like dripping ceilings or a syringe or two in the parking lot, because you sure are gettin' some very strong drinks for very, very cheap, and maybe you need another. Pretty soon, bartenders of Epic Shitholes become local heroes. Oh, what's that? They show major sporting events on the boob tube and have darts and whatnot? And play pretty good tunes? Added bonus for the frugal-minded seeking nightly specials, which are again... dirt cheap. Occasionally still drinking right at 2 am, and they'll slip a couple to you under the radar, not scared of the OLCC one bit? Just got a little cooler, now didn't it? This is how Shitholes become Epic. Because while they may be totally crappy in theory, they're so solid in other aspects that they will never, ever die. Fancy niche, new bars could take a lesson. Shitholes of Epic Proportions surpass the ordinary and their longevity and general "Get bent if you don't like it" attitude make for an impressive neighborhood mainstay. They've cleaned up a bit recently. But I still wouldn't recommend looking too closely, go at it from a Monet approach.
(3)Mike C.
Bar food is OK but very overpriced.. and to go orders get add on "fees" for the containers.. and a surcharge on top of that for take out.. Seriously? Maybe you'd have more customers order food to go if you didn't screw them over with stupid fees.. hmmmm?
(2)David H.
It was so bad I can't even give it 1 star!!!! We have been here many times before always had good food & service BUT today was a disaster! Requested hash browns was told they don't have them anymore but menu shows country potatoes they were nothing more than a half fried potatoes with no seasoning just plain nasty, my eggs were ordered as scrambled they came fried when the plate came back all it was still the fried eggs just chopped up to look scrambled requested the bill was charged 2.00 extra per meal for the potatoes not advised in advance of price difference I knew immediately that our server was new so I give extra credit for that but you can only give so much for new staff. I saw a few more plates being returned to the kitchen so I thought maybe a new cook NOT!!! As standing at the bar by the door just wanting to leave this place I witnessed the cook wipe off a plate with a napkin tossing the food that was on it in the garbage he put the plate back up on the ledge with other plates with food on them preparing to put more food on that same plate how totally nasty!!!! Then I asked Amber a waitress who has waited on us before about what was going on there, I was telling her about how bad this experience was she said our waitress was new I asked about if it was a new cook also because the food was NASTY she said no. I was surprised wondering what had been on our plate before it got to us then Amber asked my husband to lower his voice which was not loud as I was talking to her how very rude of her! We WILL NEVER GO BACK! We know a lot of people and will make sure we share this experience with everyone we know and those we don't know!!!! I also will refer this place to dirty dining, the Multnomah County food inspections dept. There is NO reason for a cook to wipe food into a garbage from a plate then reuse the same plate put it on the same counter/ ledge with other plates that had food of them to be served!!! I want my money back and will dispute my debit card charges thru my bank!!!
(1)Alexander W.
Good drinks. terrible food.
(4)Joe B.
Six TV screens make watching sports great. I also like the "smack TV" next to the screens where you can text message smack onto the screen. It's a nice little treat & makes talking $hit even more fun.
(5)Jessica F.
Great neighborhood bar with a decent menu. Nice bartenders. And a pool table!
(4)Sami A.
Love this place. Bacon on Monday's? Say whahhh??? Good service and great people. There was however a man that came in and called me a sissy boy after cat calling at me for 5 minutes. I told him it's not my fault that my arms are this skinny. I was born weird or whatever. Anyways, he's in there a lot and refers to himself as Barnacle Jim. Watch out for that guy. He's got a long face and is a real rascal.
(4)Bradford D.
Yorgo's is a good place to go for cheap beer and sports. I usually go with my friends to watch Blazer games and play some shuffle board as well. I did order the chili burger once...it was massive..and probably saved me from a brutal hangover. It is nicer under the new ownership and renovations. They brightened it up and the patio during the summer is nice. It's a solid choice for dive bars though.
(4)Holy-foo' X.
I'm confused, is this place still Yorgo's, or Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill like the sign said? To further confuse things, the Yelp Link for Yorgo's go straight to Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill. Same owners, same mgt? Maybe some one can clarify....? Yorgo's, I can attest, goes WAAAAAAY back in No Po lore. Dang though, Boo! Dirt cheap pours, a very reliably vibrant night crowd that's a bit younger than many other old school dives like Mouse Trap and Cuckoo's Nest. If the walls of this recently-refurbished little dive could talk, though! Man what tales it could tell... but let us suspend speculations and eulogies, until we know the upshot of what exactly is going on w/the pub formerly known as Yorgo's.... (Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill can't really be the permanent new handle, can it? b-o-r-i-n-g).
(3)Ivan C.
This place is owned by the same owner(s) as Mocks Crest and has some similarities to it. Service is great, daily drink/food specials and good happy hour. The beer/drinks are always good and inexpensive. I was there recently, drinking all night and my total bar bill was under 20 bucks. Even though I was drinking cheap beer, it was a total deal! The food menu is fairly similar as well, but they have a bigger kitchen than Mocks so they are able to offer a little more. They have great breakfast here, the sausage gravy is awesome. The biggest difference from here and Mocks, it Yorgo's is more of a Sports Bar and has a lot more room. They have a lot of TVs and will always have a calendar of the bigger games they'll be showing. As far as amenities, they have the usual Video Poker, Pool Table, a Mini Shuffle board table, skeet ball. They opened up a Patio out back, but last time I was there it wasn't open.
(4)Eric S.
I love Yorgos. It's cheap, has a great selection of beer and food and it's a great neighborhood bar to meet with friends at. The food is good, the staff is friendly and they don't give you cocktails in small glasses (an unfortunate problem in many Portland bars). It's not fancy. It's just right.
(4)Eeesh F.
Best beer tap selection EVER. Maybe it's not the best on atmosphere. Who cares! Also best triple decker club sandwich. So good. Love this place it's the perfect neighborhood no frills, good cheap eats, mmm
(5)Bronwyn R.
I love dive bars, burgers, beers and college football. Yorgo's covers all of these bases and even has pudding shots (dont hate)!
(5)Lilli P.
We like this place more and more. The owners are obviously stepping it up with renovations (bench seating, poker machines behind a wall, and an awesome back patio!) The bar food is really pretty good and the drinks are generous. No fancy schmancy stuff going on here, but the weekend night crew is super friendly, unpretentious, and actually seem to enjoy what they're doing. There are three other "hipper" bars in the immediate area, but we always end up at Greeley because of the service. The renovations are a huge bonus.
(4)January M.
This place has the worst feng shui in the entire universe. You walk in and immediately become confused and disoriented by 27 televisions, neon beer signs, ramps, steps, booths, and keno displays. Since my goal when entering a bar is to become confused and disoriented, I cannot complain about any of this. The ol' booze shanty was recently taken over by the Mock Crest crew. I kind of miss the buckets. Buckets of water from the leaky roof randomly scattered about the building. It definitely gave the place a certain. . . oh hell let's go ahead and say "charm." Things have been polished and streamlined. New glasses. New roof. Better booze selection. You no longer leave smelling like urinal cake. I didn't realize how shitty their old Bloody Mary recipe was until drinking a new one. Delicious. For the record: Don't even bother with the shuffleboard. That shit is booked until mid-June. I will give you five stars if you can swear we will never have to listen to Nickleback in your bar again.
(4)Brandon S.
Good drinks. My old fashioned could have been less feminine. I liked how the people blowing their paychecks on video poker were sectioned off a bit. Can be kind of depressing.

All I can say is my peeps are regulars and if you are a random college boy playing pool and think it is funny to shove a stick in my girlies butt - of course you are going to get jumped by ALL of NoPo's FINEST what the f**k do you expect? Seriously though - good spot. Nice staff - got drunk left my purse. The bartender noticed saved it and I picked it up the next day ALL CONTENTS ACCOUNTED FOR! Where else in North Portland would that happen -NOWHERE! I gave the guy 20$ I was so happy. I will be back :)

The negative reviews on the food here are downright crazy. It's bar fare mind you, not free range or organic, but consistently prepared to the highest standard of any bar I have ever been to, it is a great spot for dinner. The service has always been top notch and served with a hustle. When seated at the sports viewing tables the staff make constant rounds to ensure your comfort. I frequently see a diverse crowd here for what is otherwise a typical sports bar and grill, and I have personally seen the staff go to great lengths to ensure the safety of customers on more than one occasion. This place is a great, friendly, neighborhood watering hole.

I wouldn't say it's the greatest, but I wouldn't say it's the worst. The prices are great, and the food is okay. The aspect I really love about this bar is their variety of beers! You can always enjoy a sports game with their wide selection of micro brews!

I went to this place a few times before the takeover. It was OK if you wanted a beer and some big damned TV distracting you. I went back the other night on an end-of-the-night "we need to eat or we'll die" mission. Slim pickin's out this way late at night. We ordered a veggie patty which is a bland but typically safe choice. This one came with TOO much mayo on it. I LOVE mayo, and now that I think about it, it may have been miracle whip or something. It was like it was sprayed on with a spraypaint can (like some Molotow high pressure, for those of you in the know). Two bites in and my friend pulled a 3" piece of waxed paper out of her mouth. That was gross but it explained why the texture of what I was eating was so peculiar. I pulled a chewed-up piece of waxed paper out of my mouth, mashed together with lettuce, mayo (?), and bread. There are only a few things that make me gag. This is one of them. We told the dude and he was apologetic. I couldn't finish, but I did plow through 2 untouched Sliders from the table next to me. Even though they were cold, they were better than the veggie burger with paper. This place has stepped up a bit in cleanliness, from dive to average sports bar. I won't be eating there again, however, but I will drink beer there if need be... until I find a napkin or something in my pint glass.

I've been going to "Yorgo's" for 10 years. Under new ownership the atmosphere has changed for the better! I have been drinking beer from draft and eating burgers and fries. Well I live a little closer to George's and ended up going there one day. I had a draft PBR and a burger with fries and what I consumed at George's was far tastier! First off don't get me wrong... I still love GABAG but it's best when Flap makes specials that are tasty and unique. He should be running the whole show as far as food is concerned. After eating at George's I realized the fries from the fryer at Yorgo's isn't quite right. I think it needs to be cleaned. All of the fried food as an overtone of the same stale fryer flavor. Also the beer I had at George's was crisp, resfreshing and tasted good! I had gotten used to old keg lines or something. Something is making the beer not taste as it's intended at Yorgo's. Please change these pieces! I want to stay a loyal customer but I also want to be satisfied.

What is a "dive bar"? The word gets thrown around quite a bit, but can you ACTUALLY define a dive? Head on over to Yorgo's at the corner of N Greeley and Killingsworth and you will find yourself in the quintessential dive bar. Happy hour and drink specials abound, with different food & drink specials for each day of the week (but they seem to change whenever someone behind the bar finds the right pen for the dry-erase board) and though they only have a handful of micros on tap, they are priced right in the $3 range ($2 during the 4-6pm daily HH), with PBR correspondingly cheaper. But you don't go to Yorgo's for the beer. No my friend, the well is where it's at. Friday's 6pm-close $2.50 wells (this one's been pretty constant for a while now). And we're talking minimum 6 second pours, served in a fat tumbler. Believe me, order a G&T and the you'll swear the splash of tonic is just for color. Upgrade to top shelf for about $1 more if you must, but DO NOT drive home after 2 drinks. You don't want to know about their food do you? It's pretty much all greasy fried (rings, fries, popcorn chicken, etc), though they do have some sandwiches and burgers (if you try one you're braver than I am) and depending on who's cooking (and how much you've had to drink) range from decent to barely edible. Again, the current/most recent Friday special was 2-for-1 apps. Inside the bar has a hideously charming funk of smoke & urinal cakes. They seem to have finally replaced the old malfunctioning jukebox (with the volume permaset to 11) with a thoroughly modern (and completely inappropriate) digital video juke, but they usually have the volume muted in favor of the tvs which always are playing hunting, military, or "survival man" type programs (exception being when there's a football game or MMA match). There never seems to be a problem finding a seat as the place is deceptively spacious, and they've got the usual assortment of video crack, golf (some edition of Golden Tee I believe), and a couple pool tables that have probably had a fair number of beers spilled on them. The bartenders are surly, but never straight up rude, and don't get offended if they serve the regulars before you...they've earned the special treatment, and you can too if you can match their commitment to excellence. Speaking of regulars, Yorgo's has many. Pick a day and time to check it out, return that same day and time the following week and you WILL see the same faces. For many, Yorgo's is not a bar, it's a way of life. It doesn't hurt that it's so close to Swan Island, so when it's quitting time the crowd becomes overwhelmingly, though not entirely, blue collar. To truly enjoy the Yorgo's experience though, and I cannot stress this enough, you MUST take your drink out on the deck, and you must do this regardless of whether it's a sweltering 102 degrees, raining sideways, or snowing. The deck at Yorgo's is ALWAYS open. And, though they may teasingly mock you, they will provide you with an umbrella if you ask nicely. On any given day, from the deck of Yorgo's you may see: -Teens with no survival instinct hop off the bus, dart into the street, and get hit by a motorcycle -Little men in "classy" IROCs running a red light directly in front of a cop -Shaggy-haired meth freaks chain-towing their rusty pickups up and over the sidewalk -Hottie Adidas employees jogging up Greeley -Morons in Subies rear-ending the car in front as they oogle said hotties -Tri-met bus drivers honking at and flipping off oblivious drivers who remain stopped and texting on phones while the light turns green -Sketchy looking young turks selling "cigarettes" to cars stopped at the intersection -Emergency vehicles with sirens and lights glaring heading northbound on Greeley, followed by emergency vehicles with sirens and lights glaring heading southbound just seconds later -An unusually high concentration of classic Impalas, or Comets, or Falcons, or the like, cruising by (give them a "whoop" and a thumbs up, they like that) Yorgo's is definitely worth a visit and it's so cheap even if you learn that you hate the place, it's not a painful lesson.

Great place for weekend brunch. The breakfast menu is a bit more extensive than at their sister bar, the Mock Crest. A great Bloody Mary and hearty breakfast make this a great brunch stop in Nopo. Sit by the window and you can watch all the activity at the new food cart pod.
