Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. What a nice little neighborhood bar with fantastic food! Breakfast all day and while none of the three of us had a breakfast item, we saw some come out and we'll be back to have that next. Burgers were large, juicy, and full of fresh fixins. I had a Philly cheesesteak and it was pretty darn good as well. Only one of our party drinking, but service was spot on and drinks were well received. The bar area is kinda small, and they could stand for another decent sized flat screen TV for sports, but it sure worked for our Friday night. Al's niece brought some mini pumpkin cupcakes, which deserve mention in this review also....keep baking, Al's niece!! Parking lot in the rear of the building.

The food is great, and the price is completely reasonable for the portion. About 9-11 bucks for giant burgers. There's video poker, a full bar, good seating and you can totally catch the Blazers game. Just don't expect service with a smile.

I don't go to Darcy's very often. And the couple times I've gone it's been okay. The burgers are good. The amount of food is decent. However I must say the service absolutely sucks. Today (06/12/15) I really wanted a burger. I went to all my go to places they were busy or closed. So I came in. I ordered the ultimate burger lettuce only with fries. It wasn't even busy maybe 10 people max. I got my order. I was really hungry and just left. Sure that's my fault for not checking. When I got home waiting to eat my long awaited burger. I opened the container and dug in. I realized there was no egg no ham no lettuce. And I realized in wasn't my burger. I then realized I got tater tots instead of fries. So as for me Darcy's is a major miss.

In my previous review, I mentioned my love for Darcy's "The Cure" and my disappointment towards their burgers. I would like to set the record straight that their burgers are also super noms! Just for some background information, I live approximately five minutes away from Darcy's on foot. Given this, and the lack of decent food options on the stretch of Lombard where Darcy's is located, I find myself at Darcy's at least once or twice a week. Most of the servers recognize both me and my boyfriend when we stop by! At one point, Heather (the awesomest-awesome server) could remember most of my order ("The Cure" with gravy, over-easy eggs, sourdough toast, and hash browns-- mmm!). Lately, however, I've been a huge burger fiend, which has inspired me to try out Darcy's burger menu! Onto the burgers: The burgers here are super tasty and super huge! The burger patty itself is super juicy and seasoned perfectly. Darcy's also puts a special spread (I believe it's some type of thousand island dressing?) on their burgers that really elevates it to the next level! All of the toppings also taste really fresh and never sog up the burger (much appreciated, Darcy's)! My recommendations would be the patty melt on sourdough (seriously the BEST patty melt I've tasted) as well as the classic bacon cheeseburger. I would also opt to upgrade to onion rings for a dollar more-- they're perfectly fried and the batter is really tasty! What's also nice about Darcy's is that you have three different options for your burger size (1/4, 1/2, and 1 lb burgers). Just for reference, I can polish off a 1/4 lb bacon cheeseburger pretty easily from here when I'm hungry (as a petite 4'11" girl), so I'd recommend getting the regular 1/2 lb burger to fill a regular sized human :) PS: I'm not sure if Darcy's always runs happy hour deals on burgers, but I remember getting a dollar or two off my burger while watching a Blazers game a few weeks ago (super awesome!) PPS: Darcy's also has super tasty appetizers to open up your stomach pre-meal. I highly recommend ordering frickles (ask for it with the burger spread instead of ranch for the dipping sauce) or fried macaroni and pepper jack cheese bites!

We've been coming here for a couple of years now. I've always had pleasant experiences and have tried everything but the pizza, which is on hiatus, and everything is exactly what you expect from the neighborhood bar but with a little more love and care. The 1/4 pound burgers are just the right size and price and they totally hit the spot. When I need to eat my feelings I get the half pound burger. Burgers, fries, tots, poppers, salads and sandwiches, breakfast served ALL day, pretty fucking sweet spread. Great bar tenders, awesome cooks and good people watching. Darcy's is our first choice for local dive with love.

Darcy, I saw you standing at the corner. You seemed lonely on this rainy night. I came up to you and you graciously welcomed me in. I love how you don't pretend to be fancy. To me, you're everything Carl's Jr tries to be. As I take a bite of your Western BBQ Burger, I revert to a flashback of Paris Hilton eating a Carl's Jr burger. I experienced this first hand at Darcy's. If it doesn't get all over the place it doesn't belong in your face. This was my Darcy moment. Now please note, there's nothing fancy about this place. It's the place to go for a big burger and a cheap beer. That my friends is a good night! They are huge made to order burgers featuring local meats. Plus they serve breakfast all day. Service was good for being only one waitress. So to those in the St. John area, you should check this place out when you're craving a burger.

Darcy's I am over you for good! My husband broke up with you once before. We gave it a second, third and fourth chance and we are D-O-N-E! The first several times we ate here, we loved it. It's bar food but good burgers and breakfasts. About 4 weeks ago we stopped in around 5:30 for a burger and beer for the hubby. We were waited on by a lady we hadn't seen around before, there was a second lady walking around as well that we had never seen. There were only about 3 tables with patrons and about 4 people at the bar. It took a long time for someone to wait on us. Once our order was in we waited about 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive. Neither waitress ever came back to check on us. Just before we got our food one of the regular waiters/bartenders came rolling up in front of the door to the bar in a beat up car. As he door opened his car door a plume of smoke followed him out. He looked like he just came out of a bar from an all-niter. As the food arrived he came in the front door and walked past us. He smelled of unwashed hair, body, clothes, filthy ashtray and a shit ton of beer and booze. The 2 waitresses left without a word to anyone and he took up residence behind the bar. A guy came in and took a seat at a booth. He left 20 minutes later. Never waited on, never spoken to. At this point I was out of water and carried my glass up to the bar. The filthy bartender would not make eye contact, flirted with 2 gals at the cash register and there I stood for about 3 minutes. Finally he looked at me with a seething "what the fuck do you want?" look. I turned away and sat back down. Hubby and I decided to wolf down the rest of our food and get the hell out. We had just enough cash to leave to the bill...which by the way we never received, we did not leave a tip and left post haste. With all that, the burgers were not the same as they had been. Bad experience all around. It does no good to write to the owner, we have done that and no response. so here it is all my anger displayed in public. On a side note, Heather is a great waitress as well as one of the other gals who's name I can't remember but she always wears flannel shirts and stocking caps. They need to find a place that can appreciate the work they do. And to the waiter dude who rolled in on a drunk....take a freaking shower and wash your filthy clothes.

The food should get a 5 star, but I rate it 4 because the service is hit and miss on certain days. I was a regular there and sometimes the waitresses didn't even recognize me. If you sit in the TV lounge even on not so busy days you have a 40% chance of being missed or forgotten. You just aren't in their line of site like by the bar, that is probably where most of the bad reviews are from, especially if you are the only group seated there. Also just bring the check up to the bar, so much faster and they prefer it that way FOOD!! You get sooo much food!!!! OMG it is crazy! 5 stars :) you get enough for 2 full meals. I love the Darcy's Scramble. I get it every time best hangover food ever! It is not fast food so you will be waiting a bit but it is worth it. If you are a healthy person not too many diet friendly meals here. Mostly greasy hangover food, and lots of it. The drink are not over poured. The Bloody Mary's are pricy, they are 4 stars but I have had better. As far as the place goes there is parking in back and a covered outdoor smoke are, like all Oregon bars they have a darkly not lit keno room. A full service bar. only a few booths in the main area. In the side area they have a huge TV room with 4 TV's playing different things. You can always ask the staff to change the channel if there is something you want to watch. Overall a good lazy Sunday place to hang out and just expect for things to take some time there. Not a speedy place.

First off all, let's give credit where credit is due, the frickles are amazing and I ate the whole basket myself, which I NEVER do. My burger, which was NOT cooked medium (as I prefer and the menu states) was more like well done. Also, I ordered the bacon and blue and was then brought a cheeseburger. Instead of making a fuss and since we were in a rush, I just ate it. It was a pretty good burger, even for well done. But when the waitress brought the bill, we were charged for a bacon and blue. So I told the new waitress and she asked what I received (since I ate the entire burger), so I showed her a picture I took (like the foodie that I am) which she conveyed to the cook. The burger was wiped off the bill. I appreciated that!

Stopped by this place for a burger. Got the ultimate burger. Was really good. The fries are good too. Service guy was off but good. If I'm in the neighborhood I'll come back.

Cheap and plentiful!

I can't believe Darcy's gets 3 1/2 stars.... I was here a few weeks ago and waited almost 20 minutes to be helped. The atmosphere is a little divey and Darcy's isn't the cleanest place to eat. I had prime rib which was tough and mediocre at best. If you're looking to grab a beer stop in.... If you want to eat, stay away.
(2)Patrick S.
This is the divey-est of dive bars. Sometimes that's all you really need. The people are scary, the service is angry and mouthy, the food is greasy and salty. I really love it!
(3)Bonita M.
Absolutely the worst burger ever! Meat was dried out, falling apart and tasteless. Although it could have been that I couldn't taste the meat because of the overwhelming taste of the Bluecheese. The bacon was ok but one strip was crisp and the other not. The bun was the most confusing, totally soggy on the bottom, couldn't even pick it up to eat it, had to resort to cutting it up and attempting to eat it with a fork. Website site states 6.95 for the Bacon/Bluecheese burger and 1.95 for a side salad. The actual cost is 9.95 for the burger and 1.95 for the salad. Side salad also waste of money, nothing interesting there. Most of the food is now in the garbage. Won't ever be going back.
(1)Cassandra D.
I like getting carry out here but it's not one of my favorite places to hang out. The servers are great but the crowd is usually to young for my tastes.
(3)Renee E.
I had been going to Darcy's for years. I recently decided to visit the old stomping ground. I decided to order some takeout to share with my coworkers and was sadly disappointed. We ordered Three different burgers. And none of us were satisfied. The blue cheeseburger was saturated in the blue cheese sauce and mayo which made the hamburger too soggy to eat which says a lot because the actual Patty was overcooked. Their barbecue burger had so much barbecue sauce it was also overcooked and soggy. The veggie patty was flavorless and we could not figure out whether or not it actually was a turkey burger. We asked for one of the burgers with no pickles and still got pickles on it. Our fries were cold and we didn't get any of the sides that we ordered. Darcy's is is not what it used to be.

My quest for the best burger in Portland continues. Darcy's on Lombard is towards the top. My girlfriend and I live in St. John's, and had always heard great thing about Darcy's burgers. We stopped in one late night, but the kitchen was already shut down, so we had to delay our gratification. Super glad we finally made our way back, as this is one of the tastiest burgers I've found in Portland, so far. I got the jalapeno cheddar burger, while my girlfriend got the bacon blue cheese. Amazingly, for once, her burger was messier than mine. Tomatoes, jalapenos, lettuce, and cheese were all crisp and perfectly firm, on an immaculately toasted bun (I've worked in too many burger joints to count, and I tell you, this was PERFECT!) A number of these ingredients have a tendency to be sloppy and slimy, while still being delicious. I didn't end up wearing half my burger here, which is a major triumph. Got the onion rings for an extra buck, which I highly, highly recommend. They were perfectly fried - not overdone, but still staying intact, keeping the onions inside. The batter is light and flaky and, frankly, delicious! Worth a stop for the onion rings alone. My girlfriend said her blue cheese could've been a little less runny, which didn't prevent her in the slightest from devouring the entire thing (and she very rarely finishes an entire meal.) For the beer drinkers out there, it's worth noting that, at least right now, Darcy's has Arrogant Bastard on top, which is another reason, by itself, to pay them a visit. While I had initially thought the service at Darcy's was a bit chilly, this time reversed my opinion. This is simply a no-nonsense tavern restaurant. The server ended up being warm, friendly, and accommodating, without having to suck up. Which I totally respect. I used to cook burgers in a bar in Portland, and can tell you that Darcy's is doing something exceptional with their kitchen. They even do a prime rib dinner on Fridays and Saturdays! Next time, I want to check out their breakfast,!

I came for lunch. The seating was limited at best and we were fully ignored by the waitress. So we stood by a dirty table until she came around to clean it and seat us. Food looked great but the California burgers was so loaded down with sause and was so soggy it literally was stuck to the paper basket. Upon time to pay, we were GIVEN a receipt with a credit card attached. She was paying such little attention that we got someone else's card rather than our bill. Not impressed. Bad service. Poor food. Don't waste your lunch break Server-Heather

This was the first time I had visited Darcy's after seeing pictures upon pictures of their burgers. The server was friendly, funny, and quick. Great selection of beer! For an appetizer, try the onion rings. Nothing too spectacular, but the batter was flavorful and surprisingly airy for being fried. We ordered the Western BBQ and California burgers, both of which were HUGE! We ended up tackling only half the sandwich and taking the rest home. For being so big, the burger was cooked perfectly. I'm not one to typically order a BBQ burger, but the sauce was pleasantly subtle enough to highlight the other ingredients. As far as the California goes, I liked the transformation of a taco into a burger. However, something on the sandwich was extremely salty. I'm a big fan of the taste of salt, but even this was overpowering. The tots and fries were tots and fries, nothing special. Overall, this is a place I'll come to when I need to sober up and need a chill place to do so. Not somewhere I'd necessarily write home about.

This is a reluctant downgrade of my earlier review. Over the last year we've been in many, many times. This was one of the first places we ate after moving into the neighborhood and our most regular spot over the last year. Unfortunately it's been mostly downhill. Darcy's, we are breaking up with you. It's not us. It's you. Apparently the drill is one server and one cook, no matter what. Period. As far as we can tell, this staffing level never changes. If the place is empty, that paradigm works just fine. If just a few tables are occupado, though, you can basically forget it. What, pray tell, is supposed to be enjoyable about an experience built around a harried waitstaff? We don't ask for much. Some sort of acknowledgement when we walk in would be nice. One time we waited and waited and finally had a seat without making eye contact. Bad move. We waited a long time. The friendly "thanks" and wave as you exit out the door is also a thing of the past. The burgers are still excellent. They have that classic quality about them. The fries are pretty good. The portions are a good value for the price. Besides the greeting, there are other signs of trouble. The tables are not being wiped down. There's no one to do that job when the server is busy. The output from the kitchen has slowed. We're not sure what's up with that except maybe tickets aren't getting put in. The time it takes the server to come around, for any reason, can be excruciating. Servers used to have a little personality, a friendly manner and took a few precious moments for quick banter. Now it's cut and run. And some of the servers who made the place truly special have apparently moved on. I really want to like Darcy's but the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the experience ultimately means we just don't want to be there. It's not fun any more. Sad.
(3)Roy B.
Nothing like sitting back, having bad whiskey and a pint. Watching the games and ignoring the crowd. I do enjoy me some Darcy's. Love you, Kit and Gunner!
(4)Sakie H.
I loved the food. I ordered ultimate burger and it was great and huge and filling. I actually didn't like fries comes with burger. So I recommend ordering tater tots instead.
(4)Kristen G.
Went in here for dinner with my fiancé and ordered a cheesesteak (I forget what it was called). I was brought a sandwich similar to an Italian grinder. I told the waiter what I had ordered and he argued with me about it. I ate some of the sandwich and started to feel sick. My fiancé and I were both sick to our stomaches that night. I hear they have great "hangover breakfasts", according to a friend but i am too nervous to go back. :/
(1)Veronica F.
I live very close to this place. I've never thought of going in till yesterday. Five kids and myself sat at one of the long window bar tables. Waitress were prompt in taking our order and bringing waters even though they seems pretty busy. They do not have have a kids menu but prices were reasonable for small portions as well. Kids got peanut butter and jelly French toast!!!! Yumm! It was delicious! I got a breakfast burger which was the most amazing burger I have had in a very long time!!!! Fresh meat, fresh veggies, fresh bun! And it was huge! But oh so delicious!! Will be going there again! You cannot go wrong with friendly staff either!!
(5)Kelsey R.
I've only been at night; never in the morning for their breakfasts. This place is good but definitely not the same without their old bartender, Al. Still serve the Al's special - four drinks in one. The food is pretty good, especially for a bar. Big TV if you want to watch a game or something.
(3)Kelsie V.
I had a delicious turkey reuben here. This is not a item I would typically order but it was on special. Their fries were natural, fresh, and legit. I hate fries. Portion good sized. Nice beer line up. Open space, another room also for watching games. Friendly atmosphere and service. Monthly cocktail specials, unique ones they create here. Next time, Breakfast.
(4)Jason D.
Very large portions. Fries are superb. Burger was fresh off the grill and enormous, but overcooked (asked for medium and got well done) and completely slathered in mayo. It was so sloppy that it was difficult to eat. Next time I will ask for light on the mayo and stress medium. Atmosphere is laid back, staff was nice, and decent selection of beer taps.
(3)Scott U.
The burgers are fine (not amazing) and quite large (and messy) if you value quantity. Sides were fine. Service was okay. I can think of other places in this part of the city I'd rather go, but it's passable. Not much else to say.
(3)Elle W.
Look this is not the place is you want fancy or looking to host out of town guests. However, the food is good and the quantities are large. I just ate there for the first time. I will go back and have what my sister had, but with veggie sausage. The vegetable omelet and potatoes were quite tasty. You cannot beat the price and there is a large tv for the games.
(4)Steve D.
They have gotten rid of the cheese burger pizza and have changed their crusts. This makes the baby Jesus cry.
(3)Del R.
The burgers are ridiculously original and of superior quality. The service is uniquely hilarious, welcoming and attentive. You feel like a regular immediately. This place is an unexpected delight. I absolutely recommend them, hands down!
(5)Josh Z.
Food was killer prices were cheap, I will definitely be back!No line on a Sunday morning!Fast and friendly service :-)
(5)Joe C.
I've only been here for breakfast. They have average breakfast food/coffee/Bloody Marys at an average price. The service is fast and friendly.
(3)Laurie A.
Service = Good Food = Bad (based on breakfast/brunch only) I want to like this place, I really do...... but it is just not good food. The first time we went there and realized the food was a disapointment, I was hoping it was just due to an "off" day. So, we gave it another shot (because again, I really wanted to like this place). So, on another Sunday afternoon we went for round two. Same outcome, different Sunday. The hashbrowns were dripping grease and not edible. The eggs over easy had cooked yolks. The omelettes had melted slices of sandwich cheese on top. There is just not much good to say about the food. However, I really feel this is just lack of good kitchen help. I think they just employee some people in their kitchen who don't really know what they are doing. Its a good place to watch sports (they have many large TV screens) and again, the staff is great........ but maybe just have a beer or cocktail and stay away from the food menu.
(2)Isabelle N.
Pretty good casual hangout and fast service. Portion sizes are enough to bring home Togo!
(4)Peggy T.
Went there for breakfast on 7/30. The place was empty other than 1 other table. I was greeted quickly and efficiently. I ordered biscuits and gravy along with a side of bacon. It appeared to me that the server was also the cook. While it did impact the amount of time to get my order, it was still relatively fast. I found the place to be lacking any sort of charm and I wished the server/cook had been a tad friendlier. On to the food. The positive: the bacon was perfectly cooked-crisp and delicious. The negative: the biscuits and gravy. Both of these items had a sweet taste to them- which I don't care for. I prefer my biscuits to hold up under the onslaught of gravy- did not happen. I also prefer a sausage gravy to hearty with deep levels of flavor. Both were disappointing. Was hoping to find a gem in the Kenton neighborhood, but Darcy's did not deliver.
(3)Kirsten H.
Overpriced and the food is the worst ever. The pizza tastes like it has ketchup for sauce and when I ordered a French dip I bit into something that felt like a massive chunk of cartilage. It also attracts a questionable crowd in the slots area.
(1)Michelle M.
After careful consideration of everyone's reviews we tried Darcy's for an early dinner this evening. How refreshing to be treated with respect and welcomed with open arms to any establishment in Portland these days! Had the 2 kids and Grandma in tow. Something for everyone here. Service - Better than great. We never went without soda or water refills. The two guys working the floor were very attentive and on top of things. Never had to ask twice for anything. Matthew is the bartender, but since the bar was slow he had his hustle on and was taking care of business! Very friendly and when we made some changes to the standard preperation of the burgers they didn't even blink an eye. Food - The burgers are higher quality than any I've had in recent memory. The meat appears to be hand formed and fresh ground. None of those uniform frozen patties here. Very tasty and...JUICY. No grease in sight. Our table had the mushroom swiss, california and the girlie burger - all excellent. My son had the Italian Hoagie and couldn't finish, it was so big and loaded with meat. That came home for lunch tomorrow! Reason for no 5th star - I think the grease for fries is probably in need of changing; they were quite dark in color and not as fresh as the burgers. Very small dining room, one side was closed this evening (AC issue - No surprise in Portland on the first hot day) so there were only 5 tables/booths available outside the bar area. Luckily, it wasn't busy...but it certainly could have been an issue with a few more patrons. I was hesitant to consider this as a family friendly establishment, but was pleasantly surprised to see other families there and nothing offensive on the TV. No language coming from the bar, etc. It was only about 6pm on a Saturday so maybe it gets rowdier later. We will definately be back!!
(4)Michelle P.
Good burger. Messy and yummy. I'd say 3.5, but then again I'm fussy :)
(4)Ryan E.
My date and I had the best omelettes here in the whole damn world. Also, our waiter was nice, and incredibly charismatic and attentive. It was nice to see good service, especially since we came in kinda late at night and ordered breakfast food. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants some awesome breakfast food at any time of the day. I can't speak for their burgers on account of being a vegetarian, but my roommate said they were pretty awesome, too. You can't really go wrong here. It's also got this ambiance that's so comfortable; and they kept playing these bad ass songs on the overhead, stuff from newer indie bands interspersed with fifties tunes (like the original Bobby Vinton rendition of "Blue Velvet") and some 80s stuff like Talking Heads. It was a fantastic experience.
(5)T K.
Was visiting a friend and she said we should stop here for burgers. I'm so glad we did! Tuesday is $2 off a burger day. Yeah. Plus, that had to be the BEST burger I've had in Portland. Definitely better than anything we have in Oregon City/Milwaukie. Good flavor, awesome bun, it was very satisfying. I got the California burger which came loaded with guac, sour cream, salsa, bacon, and of course the LTO. I asked their special sauce on the side (just in case their sauce sucked). Well, their sauce made for excellent dipping with their gnarly fries. The server was really nice and watched our table carefully without being bothersome. I really enjoyed this place and am a little depressed it's a 40 minute drive from me (w/out traffic).
(5)Jarrod S.
Darcy's is always there for me in a pinch. Mix 2 parts indecisiveness, with 1 part hangover, with a dash of starving and I turn into a diva. I had been several times, many times for breakfast, once for pizza. After being seated I tell the always friendly waitress that I need some vodka with orange juice, make that vanilla vodka, make that... "Can I just make you a good drink?" "Yes please" "HOLY SHIT THIS IS DELICIOUS!" With hangover pretty much cured before my half (read whole) order of country fried steak and eggs got to me, which was fast, I was ear to ear. Maybe I am alone on this, but there is nothing better than watching a single server handle a busy ass place by themselves and never miss a beat. It was Christmas eve and she was rocking the joint, always smiling but admitting, "I didn't think it would be busy at all." The pizza side of the place hooked me up as well. After trying to decide with a friend which pizza to order, we were informed that we could half and half the pizza, even with sauces. So half barbecue chicken, and half peperoni, perfectly divided, and very tasty. They have a jukebox for music, a few tvs showing the game, and lotto machines, but it isn't your typical lotto bar, or bar for that matter. While they may lack a specialty, they do many things right, and I am always wanting to come back, now it's easier as they have a rewards card!!!
(5)Jerry B.
Comfortable, friendly, good food, pizza by the slice and friendly service. Every time I return to this place I wonder why I am not more of a regular. Breakfast is BOSS and if feels like I am sitting at my own kitchen table except I don't have to cook or wash the dishes. Don't forget to order a breakfast cocktail made with love. See you there.
(4)Billy B C.
Cheap, edible greasy spoon-style breakfast with some real sweethearts serving you up. Word on the street is that the owner is a fucknut who is doing his best to run the business into the ground. Seeing as how many employees have left this place over the last year -- I guess the proof is in the pudding (WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN WHY DID I TYPE THAT). Do you want to feel sad and weird? Go find the bathrooms and hang a left, it's the video poker room. They painted a blue sky on one of the walls to fake you out. Back out slowly, the gamblezombies in there won't even notice. At this point you might want to order a drink to calm your nerves, but then you notice they measure their shots with a jigger (BOO TO THAT). There's a super cute Samoyed dog who hangs out around here often; I suspect the dog possesses strange powers.

I could say I love Darcy's for the great breakfast or for the stiff drinks but really I go back time and again for Heather. Heather is so damn nice I can't help myself, she makes this place a 5 star.

was up in Portland visiting family. My niece recommended the place and it was fabulous.. huge portions, fresh food... great service... and the bloody mary was pretty good also! will definetely go again!! Thanks Allie!!

Darcy's is the best neighborhood spot to go for breakfast... the food is good, oh yeah the hamburgers are the bomb... but the best thing about it and the thing that kept us going for so long is HEATHER. She is witty, funny, friendly, and not just because it's her job... it's just her. She hustles and takes care of everyone. One time we were in there when they opened for breakfast and the cook (idiot) just walked out...she called someone to come in and proceeded to cook breakfast for us and two other tables and she did an awesome job... she is on top of everything and does ordering and business side stuff as well... I think the owner needs to make her a part owner, I've never seen a waitress work like she does... in fact... I only like to go there when she is there... other waitresses don't do half the stuff she does or are half as friendly.... In my opinion HEATHER makes the place what it is.

When a friend was living around the corner from Darcy's last year, we went often - so often that he has a frequent guest card. I love their breakfasts. I wish they had Eggs Benedict, but I tried 3 or 4 different things on the breakfast menu and was never disappointed.

Lived in this area 3 years, this was my first visit. They were very busy and understaffed. It took a long time to take my order. I sat at the bar and the bartender was trying his best to keep up. He was probably the only reason I stayed. I had their "new" steak burger. Food was surprisingly good. Service was excellent, just slow. I will be back.

SEPT 17TH 2011- I ordered the breakfast platter and what a waste of money that was. The potatoes were nasty and not cooked all the way and made me gag, the sausage was greasy, the biscuit was hard, and the eggs were greasy. A waste of $8.50

We have only been there for breakfast but cheap and good. Eggs, bacon and french toast are delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. I have heard their pizza is good too but haven't had a chance to try.

The best frozen french fries in the history of the world. I crave their fries. So clean, it's like they use a fresh batch of oil for every order. The exact, perfect same every time. No joke. Breakfast is great, expect a crowd on weekend mornings. PDX police frequent this place on weekdays, and I think they know what's good. Burgers, caesar salad, taco salad: very good. I'm a biscuit/gravy snob and give it 3 stars 'cause I've had my share here but cut back on the salty broth/bouillon/whatever. It's less of a "bar" bar than places down the street but u can breathe. Those french fries...

Al, Heather & Eddie are the best! This place can be awesome! Good inexpensive food and great drinks.

My experiences in North Portland have taught me that Darcies has some of the greatest hangover food in the world, especially if you're a University of Portland student. The apple pancakes are glorious on Sunday mornings, and the wait staff is really hospitable. I haven't been there in a few months, but it's one of my favorite breakfasts in Portland (as random as that may seem...it beats the place that just serves waffles; that's for sure).

This place is a good place to go lots of beer on tap good food breakfasts are good i would like to give this place five stars but iv been here a coulpe times and its hit and miss on service.
(4)Joshua R.
Great place for breakfast! The waiters all have a great personality that makes the place feel warm and welcoming. The portions are generous and worth the $$$. I've also been there for dinner and they have great comfort burgers and sandwiches.
(5)Mike R.
Burgers are the best in town!!! Really juicy and cooked to perfection!
(5)Mare B.
Of my 50 years on this planet, this blue cheese- bacon burger was the best of them all. Darcy's is a comfortable, hole in the wall, neighborhood kinda joint. Perfect for us. Grabbed a large booth by the window on a stormy spring Sunday and had a leisurely lunch w my man after tooling around NoPo for the morning. We will be back! Friendly staff and great food.

Our breakfasts were great. My son loved his chicken fried steak and hash browns. The Bloody Mary I had with my breakfast was strong and spicy and was a welcome enhancement to my Saturday breakfast.

I can only attest to the breakfast, which is top notch. From lite fare to my favorite, the Denver Omelet, you will be very happy. Great service, great food and good prices! I don't give anything a 5 star unless I felt that I would have to buy the place, so Darcy's gets a solid 4. Highly recommend.
(4)Kathryn S.
Darcy's has the best biscuits and gravy in the world and very good bloody marys and an incredibly nice staff. Plus, the plate of food you get is enormous and something like $6. This place ain't fancy, but the food is great.
(4)William H.
The food here is awesome but I've never had slower service! I have been here over 5 times and every single time it takes 45 minutes to get our food. After that it takes another 30 minutes to get our checks. Hire another server. One server cannot cover the whole floor. I will not be returning...

Wow! This is crazy! I can't believe the average stars for this place is so low. Why are there 3 1/2-4 stars? This is a 5 star place! I am picky when it comes to burgers. I don't usually eat a lot if meat, so when I'm craving a burger, I want a REAL one. Not some flat tiny patty on a pathetic bun. They have REAL burgers! They are very good and worth the price. Nice service, always friendly. :)
(5)Riley K.
I came in expecting happy hour prices on food however this places menu online and menu in the restaurant are completely different in prices. The food was dry and bun soggy. Beer selection is good but service is minimal and rude. Eat at your own risk !

Darcy, you may look a little rough, but you're doing it right. You're a solid choice on the desolate strip that is the Portsmouth stretch of N. Lombard. This place doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside isn't much better. There is pretty much no visual interest here. How much do I care about that? Not much when I'm hungry and need a beer during Snow Doom 2014. I hiked over to Darcy's during the snowpocalypse and was really glad I did. The burgers here are huge, juicy and well appointed. I appreciate that they are cooked to order, thanks for asking. The beer list was surprising, lots of good choices. I am really glad this is in walking (snowshoeing) distance of my home. I had been here to drink previously but never gave much consideration to the food. I will certainly be back for more burgers in the future.

This is by far the best bar in Portland! Al is a great bartender who can make you whatever you want and provide good conversation too. It's an awesome bar where chatting with the regulars is very common. The PB&J Burger is quite delicious too.
(5)Amber Y.
First time here was on a pub crawl on NYE last year, and then it became a hang out with my fight family....Great watermelon long island ice teas!! Great place to watch a baseball game or meet up with some friends for drinks.
(4)Jancie T.
Best food....especially the pizza. The staff are always friendly and fun to talk with. We are lucky to live so close to this great establishment.
(5)Brian M.
good service but new cook needs some work. hair in food and way to much salt on potatoes.
(2)Annie C.
I frequent Darcy's about 2-3 times a month. This place is a-okay. Nothing fancy but very sufficient for my drinking and eating needs. My only gripe about this place is their lack of high chairs. Occasionally I've wanted to have lunch here with my young son and wasn't able to because of this. Instead we've gone to University Grill which is ok.
(4)Tricia W.
Food and service is good BUT please dust your ceiling fans and get rid of bug that flies around my food or lands in my beer. The place needs a good dusting!
(3)Terra F.
We live really close but always end up driving to other neighborhoods for breakfast. ..until this morning! The place was pretty busy and we wanted to sit in a booth by the window that was not cleaned off yet...the server quickly tidied it for us! The music is lively and just loud enough...you can hear the food being made but the kitchen is blocked by a divider wall...which I thought was awesome! I got the Darcy omelette and Jerry got the bacon cheese burger omelette. ..the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. ..my omelette had great sausage and crispy peppers and fresh tomatoes. ..delicious all around!
(4)Totes M.
Solid bar, solid hangout spot. Super reasonably priced drinks, and surprisingly good food. Not the healthiest food but always a great hangover cure or for when you're working on a hangover in the making. I always enjoy it.
(4)Katherine C.
serious portions and great staff. Had the corned beef has and eggs, took home about 1/2 because it was so much food. Tasty, well prepared and well worth the trip.

Along w/John Street Cafe, this is among my favorite newfangled spots in St John's. An old personal nemesis, and arch-nemesis to our culture in general-- portion control--shakes a very defiant and mocking fist at you at Darcy's. Go ahead, tough guy, take on Darcy's Cure, or their gravy-coated Omelet, or XL Chicken Fried Streak.... see if you manage to have any appetite leftover---- let alone, the will to live! Few things spell happiness like those always welcome words: "Breakfast seved all day"
(5)Will S.
Decent place. I burger I had was great. It was really greasy, but if your alright with eating a greasy burger I would definitely recommend one. Good beer selection too.
(4)Harold H.
No longer "simply the best" French dip. Dried out beef, tasteless watered down au jus, French fry bits. Yeah, it used to be good but not any more.
(1)DX M.
I'll get back to this review later, but in general Darcies (thought it was Darcy's) is very tasty breakfast and bar food. Sure, its not the cleanest place in the city, but they are ten times the restaurant that Christies shoots for.
(4)Linda L.
the food here is yumdelicious. I would recommend coming in early on the weekends as they tend to get very busy.
(4)Lloyd O.
I was visiting from California last week and stopped in. They've reecntly added pizza & it's great! Give it a try. Crunchy crust, good sauce, good toppings.
(4)Lo G.
Hit or miss. They have one good cook who doesn't work there all the time. When he's there, the food is excellent. But lately, he hasn't been there the last two times we've gone.
(3)Greg B.
The place is nice. I had the patty melt. The bread was really well done. I would like to comment on how the food was set. It was nice and I had no idea how the onions could be packed into that sandwich with a fine layer of skill. The place does lift the fact that one comes into the establishment for football to a high level. The pizza was nice, light, and fluffy. It is rather odd since the pizza that I had only possessed cheese and tomato. The service was top notch and I would recommend this place.
(4)Holley Z.
Super good burgers! The 1/2 lb hand formed burgers from local cows with fresh veggies on a toasted bun for under $10. That is hard to find. Great service and excellent tap list.
