So I went through the drive through tonight and had the worst customer service at any drive through I've been to. First, a couple cars ahead of me went through. I got up the the order window and waited for about 30 secs to a min. Nothing. Said hello for a couple of more mins. Nothing! So I thought their intercom was broken and as I pull for with a car behind, they finally said I'm so sorry can you come back and order..no... I got up to the window and asked what was going on? Pick up window person was playing dumb, "oh sometime the sensor doesn't pick you up.." Well I know that wasn't the case as the lady tried to get me to go back. So I got to place my order, wait, and got my food. On top of that they made me pay an extra .25 for water?? No apology on their part, no remorse. This was at 9:50pm on 11/21/14.

This is your basic Dairy Queen - nothing to complain about. I come here when I'm craving some Blizzard action. I'm partial to their seasonal flavors, but since I'm a junk food enthusiast, I'll take just about anything from DQ. This location has never let me down, fast and friendly service, plus tasty treats that are always yummy. I've never ordered actual food from this particular location. Useful Tip: sign up for their online club, and get BOGO Blizzard coupons 6 times a year.

The Hubz says this is the best DQ in the PDX metro, and we both agree it's one of the best we've been to. Good food, good service, good desserts, and usually served up with a genuine smile. The chicken strips here are probably the best (DQ strips) in town, and are better than you get in a lot of "real" restaurants, especially in this area. The burgers are cooked right, the toppings are fresh, and they dip a heck of a cone. This place is often packed, and never empty, which says a lot for it. It's one of the older locations around here, and we expect to see it for a long time to come.

(We have gone here some 10 times? probably more) An awesome Dairy Queen....and trust me I have been to a lot of Dairy Queens. : ) The Dairy Queen on Saltzman is stocked with friendly and outgoing staff. And how I know it is good? They have had the same teenage/young employees at this place for years! They get an employee and they KEEP them. The place is cool how it sits over the street with trees outside the nice windows. It just has a good feel. The food is always as it should be.....hot and fresh.....or nice, cold fantastic ice cream. The only bad thing? When my husband gets a brain freeze! I just tell him: "I'll pass..." just like I saw a mom do with a 4 year old who just couldnt' understand why ice cream would hurt!

If you've ever driven to the Oregon coast then you might understand the phenomenon that is Dairy Queen. As you drive down the twisty two lane highway you will see the Dairy Queen before you see the town, and sometimes the Dairy Queen will be the town. Dairy Queens have been gracing small-town Oregon life since the days of A&W and roller skating waitresses. So I don't much expect big city folk to understand why Dairy Queen gets five stars, but if you were blessed enough to grow up in one of these small Oregon towns with a Dairy Queen and two stop lights like me, then you can appreciate it for all that it truly is. Dairy Queen is home to the hot eats and the cool treats and I love them both. It is crucial that you visit the correct Dairy Queen if you want hot eats though. While the ice cream is pretty much the same everywhere the food ranges very wildly. Most of the ones I've tried in this area do a pretty good job, but still be aware. On the Ice Cream front...Dairy Queen ice cream is the wonderful soft serve with the cute little curl on top. You can get the classic cone, I like mine vanilla and chocolate swirled, or a dipped cone, covered in a wonderful cherry or chocolate shell, there's always a sundae, and the topping choices are endless try chocolate ice cream with marshmallow topping! or of course the blizzard. This is the original, I'm not talking about a McFlurry (impostor) or the frosty with mix-ins (impostor), I'm talking about a blizzard. Classic soft serve with your favorite candy throughout. Two thumbs up...way up! Now you may say I'm partial to DQ and giving it extra stars off of sentimental value but I welcome any of you to come visit my DQ with the cowboy seats and clear view of main street any time you want. You will not be disappointed.

Terribly stale food. No life or care at all. Stale fries and used greasy tator tots. I live right next to DQ and 'force ' myself to go there when there is nothing else around. I HAVE NOT had A fresh made burger there in years. I am told they grill all their burger patties in the morning and most are burnt and carcigenic covered messes. They then through a burger and MICROWAVE HEAT it up before making the burger on the rail. Just terrible, lifeless Cheeseburgers and meat here at this location. To the other reviewer....try a real fresh burger at the new 5-GUYS BURGERS over off Cedar Hills

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!! Good evening, I am finally getting a chance to write this comment and am still pretty annoyed by what happened. I work in customer service and food industry as well and I get you can have a rough day; however I am disappointed in the treatment I was given, I did nothing wrong. On Saturday 08/08, I went to the DQ at 555 NW Saltzman Rd, Portland, OR 97229 I was served just after 8pm at the drive thru window by a brunett male. The line was surprisingly long and slow. By the time I received my blizzard I could tell it had already started melting significantly (took a picture I can send you for proof). I knew he wasn't going to turn it upside down since it was clearly melted, all he did was sluggishly hand me the blizzard. I responded with, don't I revived a free blizzard if you don't turn it upside down?? He rolled his eyes and told me "that contest is over, do you want a lid". I told him "no I just saw the commercial with a RoLo blizzard and it's not a contest it's a STARNDARD for this product", with no response and NO napkin even given I had mo choice but to just drive away. I go 20mins out of my way for this exact great once a week. I know I'm not your ideal customer only spending $4-$5 weekly but I will surely never want to return after this. Nothing is worse than driving TWENTY MINUTES out of my way to be served cookie cough soup, especially without a single napkin. I'm extremely disappointed in this location and hope you make up for your mistakes.

I have since called twice more to the corporate office. I have yet to hear back from this owner and corporate reply is there is nothing they can do other than to pass it along to the owner. I hope that you think twice about going to the location.

A pretty bad diary queen. I will never be returning. The staff is rude and shoes little care or concern for the customer. I've been given the wrong order a few times going through the drive-thru. And finally I've had enough. Everything from the servers sass to them not understanding the importance of getting the order right. I've asked for a medium blizzard and got a small :(. Not coming back.

This is the bomb Dairy Queen. Service is fast and friendly. Place is clean and well kept. Food is typical fast food. Mainly go there for the Blizzards, can't go wrong with a Blizzard. Food is served up fast even when special ordering how it's made.

I ordered a Large Swirl in a cup. This is the second time I had to request that they weight my swirl. Both times, they found out that my order needed about 25% more of the soft serve. No apologies, just that they got it wrong. With their price increases, I may have to give up the swirl and go elsewhere. My concern is that this was the 2nd time!!! This location has raised the prices and cheating us. Buyer Beware!!!! Has the Dairy Queen Short Changed You too?? For the record, I sent an eMail to corporate with no response from this franchise owner. Here is the response from corporate: Thank you for contacting American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ) and bringing your experience to our attention. ADQ works with each of its independent franchise operators to ensure that we are offering our customers the best products and service possible during every visit. I am very sorry to learn that you have been disappointed. At ADQ, we truly appreciate the feedback we receive from our customers. The closest place to satisfy my blizzard cravings. Ambiance is ok. There are 1-2 employees that seem they wish to be somewhere else.

This is a fully, professionally, remodeled location. You would think it is a corporate location and not a franchise due to the professional look and feel. This one beats the heck out of some of the DQ's you see where they slapped up some paint and said "remodel" I keep watching for the Birthday Cake blizzard to come back, it is shear perfection. I settled this day for a Salted caramel one. This should be illegal. It was so rich and so good, I wanted to get another, not good on the waistline.. The staff is outgoing, and when I asked for a flavor suggestion they were very enthusiastic in offering flavors. The guy in the drive thru really enjoys his job! He is so friendly and outgoing i don't even want to go in. I just want to feed off his energy!

I have been to this Dairy Queen many times because it's the closest to my house but I will never go back. Each time I go something is always wrong. Either they screw up the order and give something else or they're rude or they don't use the right amounts and use less ice cream/toppings than they're supposed to. I work at a Dairy Queen so I can easily tell how much 5 ounces of ice cream is. Once I ordered the de bakes brownie and the ice cream was way less than it was supposed to be and they also didn't add chocolate chunks and fudge like they're supposed to. Honestly this place gives a bad name to dairy queens. I know they're not all this bad but I hope others do too. It's just this location that completely sucks.

I've never been inside this DQ. Its been remodeled recently. It looks freshened up. But we have hit the drive through more than a few times. Its on the way to and from places and my kid likes Blizzards. A lot. Don't judge me. Mostly Mint Oreo. Or Chocolate Extreme. Or seasonal things like Peppermint Chocolate. Hey. She eats quinoa and broccoli and fish too. Her dad likes choco cherry love. He won't drive and order it ( not manly?) so I have to. Embarrassing. I say " that cherry chocolate thing" and they get it. It needs a new name. I vary my choices. . Today it was Oreo Cheesequake. I've been in the hospital for two days with my dad who the first day was on his deathbed and the next day was perky...??? Wth? and sugar was where I went for solace on the way home. Sometimes I take my blizzard home and add kahlua or triple sec. Depends on the day. Don't knock it till you try it. No, its not Salt and Straw. Different animal. Entirely. Ahem. Today, sadly no booze, because I might have to go back to St Vincent. Sugar by itself would have to do. It was comforting. Vanilla soft serve and crushed oreos and cheesecake chunks. And Princess and her dad were happy enough. We carved punkins and slurped them up. Veggie soup after. See above where it says don't judge. If the drive through people could give a litttle eye contact and say thank you or goodbye with any semblance of a smile it'd be a 4 in its class.

I rate this DQ a Big Huge Zero!!! Their customer service is horrible they are rude and incompetent. I ordered a Mother's Day ice cream cake for my pregnant daughter that was supposed to say Happy Mother To Be Day and instead they wrote Happy Birthday To Be. Who the Heck orders a Happy Birthday To Be Cake. They ruined my Daughters Mothers Day and the cake was something she was going to put the picture in her baby book. I called them and they told me to go in on the next Wednesday when the manager would be there and bring the picture of the cake and so I did that and when I said I wanted a refund or credit she said no. They say their customer is their No. 1 priority but that is a lie because if it was true they would have taken care of me. They didn't even say sorry. I don't recommend this Dairy Queen at all!!

There is only one person that is nice and has good manners which is the manager and that's not cool! All the other people that work there act like they hate their job

It's a slow Thursday evening with not even a slow trickle of people coming coming through and Skylar, the girl at the counter was very short, rude and had absolutely no customer service skills or just has a stick up her ass... 2 stars cause the food is delish.

I have gone to this Dairy Queen about 10 times (drive thru), and half of the time they mess up my order or forget something. They are clearly going very fast when taking my order and getting it to me, which would be nice if they could actually get it right for once. Also, when I say something about the order not being right or missing something, they look at me like I must be crazy. As far as the quality goes, it's still a Dairy Queen. The treats are awesome and the good is good. The facilities are pretty nice at this location. The service just needs to slow down a bit and be more accurate.
