All I have to say is, why not either use all white chicken meat, or at least trim it well? Nothing ruins a meal for me like biting into gristle. Yuck! I had the chicken burrito, so I didn't see it coming since it was rolled up. Everything else about the burrito was pretty good. After biting into the gristle, the whole shebang went into the trash! I appreciate that they use all natural meats, but please go the extra mile and trim the fat and gristle. The jalepenos and their hottest red sauce were good!

Have not been to this location but since the PSU shop isn't listed I'll leave my review here. Love the carnitas--fresh and tasty without making me feel weighed down. Great for lunch or dinner. They also have gift cards...smart AND tasty! :-p

Fast forward to the present time, my belly ain't happy with Chipotle. After a rendezvous with a barbacoa bowl with guacamole last night, this morning I have the "morning after" issue. This is what $1.65 extra charge for Guacamole gave me: * Trips to bathroom every half an hour doing the numero dos business over and over again. (Yeah ewwww...) * Thunders in my stomach. * Dehydration from losing all the liquids in my body. * Can't drink coffee, having tea instead. * Postpone or perhaps cancel trip to Farmers Market. * Makes it harder to enjoy the sunshine. Please save your $1.65 and never ever ever ever get the guacamole from Chipotle. It will make your belly very unhappy.

I've been there a few times. Never a problem and quiet enough to talk with your friends.

This is not my favorite Chipotle location. Parking sucks, they run out of food often, and it's downtown (enough said.) The service is fine, but never goes above and beyond (even when they run out of salsa and sour cream.) I would skip this location and head to the one by Lloyd center instead!

This fast food place gets almost perfect. A small menu, but everything I have tried is delicious and reasonable value. The place could be a little cleaner in the dining area, but I was there on a very busy day, after a parade, so cleaning my own table wasn't totally unexpected. Sauces are excellent, and yes the guacamolee is extra. So be it. At least we are not all paying for a few's guacamole, eh! A nice inexpensive choice for lunch or dinner when in downtown Portland, or any of their locations. So far I have only been to the one on the MAX line downtown.

Average food. Speedy service. Nothing bad to say about this particular location. My salad was good, the meat was warm, and the service was speedy. Not much to add. Don't go here if you are looking for anything authentic. Take it for what it is, fast food that is a little healthier than most places.

Ohh, Chipotle... (That's chi-POT-uuul for those who aren't familiar with the correct pronunciation...) ...because if you're gonna do fake Mexican, you may as well rock the fake pronunciation. dos Mc-stars.

Nothing special but if you know what to order it is good, fast and not expensive.

I ran across this place when I was making a run FROM the border... and... well... I stayed a while, until I realized that it's pretty much just a slightly healthier, slightly more responsible, and slightly tastier version of American-Mexican fast food. Oh, and if you want guacamole, that costs extra. Every once and a while I stop in and get a burrito bowl with lettuce (and basically make a taco salad), but I am always seriously disappointed in myself when I do that. Did I mention that the guacamole costs extra? Well it does. One extra star for using naturally raised beef. I shoulda kept running.

The Tax Deduction and I were out on an adventure. Today we were taking Max from near the Airport to Downtown to go see The World ship, which was docked along the Waterfront Park. After seeing this monolith the Tax Deduction was nonplussed by it all until he saw the Salmon Street Spring, right there I knew I had lost him to cascading water. After he was done running laps around the fountain he had burned off enough energy that it was time to recharge. Up into downtown we walked passing place after inappropriate place to take a nearly four year old. Then, off in the distance it shined like a beacon... Subway! I was jazzed we had found it, but as we got closer the "too smart for his own good" Tax Deduction saw a Chipotle and informed me that only a quesadilla would recharge his batteries. I have learned the hard way to pick my battles and submitted to McPotle. The small quesadilla was too small, so I had to run back up and buy another one for the famished Tax Deduction who stayed at the table to nurse his chips and lemonade. As I was talking to the nice guy behind the counter my kid stands up on the bench and yells across the restaurant, "Tell him to hurry!" On the plus side my carnitas was really flavorful and the chips had a nice lime-salt flavor. On the down side they have an uninsppired selection of soft drinks (something I am on a crusade to change with all places that only offer one or two diet selections) and they really don't offer a real kids menu. However the employees were all really very nice, even when being berated by my child.

Not much to say, it's a Chipotle, and it's just like the rest of them. Quality food, consistent and quick.

Definitely not one of the better Chipotles I've eaten at. I've gone through phases where I eat Chipotle 5 times a week, and I eat all sorts of things off the menu. I feel like the food here just takes crappy some times and they're stringy with the fixins. You have to ask for more salsa because they don't even give you a full spoon of mild. I prefer the Chipotle on Broadway for the food and the atmosphere (close to FroYo too!)

Do I ever like this place? Wait, that sounds like a question. Yes, I like this place. There are only a few choices, but everything is so well done, it's not a problem. The burritos are big and tasty, the tacos are crunchy and overflowing with stuff (you get a salad when you're done!). I haven't had the fajita or taco salad or "bol" yet. Because I always get the burrito, unless I need the crunch. And the place is full of socially aware ethical blahdeeblah. If you're into that stuff.

At first I was semi-afraid to eat here as when you walk by it smells like fryer grease...really bad. However, I will say that the food is pretty decent for a standard chain-style restaurant. The service is always really quick (even with a line) and the quality seems pretty consistent. I tend to go for the chicken or the vegetarian burrito. Both are filling and packed with ingredients and you get the best flavor by combining a few of the different salsa options they have available (I recommend the corn with spicy). Hard for me to give a chain above 3 stars (as there are way better burritos out there) but for what it is, it does the trick when needed.

The food was great here, The rice was soft the meat was tender and the chips are salty :) The place was clean and the service was fast. Honestly what else could you expect from a chiptole~

First time eating at a Chipotle. It was ok. Might try it again if there wasn't anything else. I got the Carnitas with black beans burrito. Was a good size but didn't have much flavor. I am sure (hope!) Portland has much better options.

  • brian c.

Its one of the better fast food options. Soft tacos are good, rice bowls are good. Rice can be oily and salty at times. Watch the burritos, they are carrying over 1000 calories!!!! YIKE. Its not great mexican food but it gets the job done. Tables are clean and refills are free.

A Haiku Review of Chipotle: Yes, it's a big chain. But man, can they grill! Get in my belly.

  • Jenny C.

The best thing about my burrito was that it kept my hands warm on the way back to school. Kind of like homesteaders heating up old potatoes to throw in the bottom of the wagon to keep their feet toasty out on the plains. Except y'know, with tortillas, rice, chicken and a MAX ride. But it's definitely better than a lot of fast food options in the area and the "bowls" are a pretty good pick if McMexican food isn't your thing. A friendly enough place, good location, tidy, and reliable.

We love coming here! Yes, you do pay more for guac but if you get the veggie burrito it is included! :) I always get a couple of extra burritos for the freezer and 99% of the time they are amazing. Every now and again something is a little off in the burrito - the rice is a little blah or the veggies are soggy but that's rare. I always get the veggie burrito with extra rice and corn salsa on the side. YUMMM!!! Make sure that you drop your business card in the pot so you can win 10 free burritos! We have won twice now and for days I walk around singing "I won ten burritossss, I WON ten BURRReeetoooos".

Hmm, well, I believe McDonald's owns these joints but regardless, their veggie burritos are huge & delicious and the dudes that work at this particular one on Tuesday nights are SO NICE & friendly, and always make me my food exactly how I ask them to. Plus the lines are never long so it's in and out every time. Nice! Plus I hear they sell like $3 margaritas or something. YUM! (they lose one star for that McD's thing because I can't not admit that kinda sucks)

    (4)
  • Bryan A.

This place gets a solid 4 stars. There was nothing exceptional about it, but definitely nothing wrong with it. The food was fresh, served in a cafeteria type setting. The rice had chopped cilantro in it which added a nice taste. Would go back if I was looking for something quick and easy.

Chip-POTE-laay. just so you know. I dated a guy that absolutely INSISTED it was Chip-O-TELL. And i insisted that he was a moron. Turns out i was right! ha! It's McDonald's. It's McCorporate. But.... It's also McYumm. Get the Barbacoa burrito. it's the size of Vin Diesel's upper arm!! The shredded beef is Delicious and spicy and awesome which is all you really need to know. Dress it up how you want. Really good cilantro lime rice! Best guac of any chain burrito place i've been. It's the real deal with lots of garlic, lime, and red onions. hip hip hoooray!

  • Tabitha R.

I really really like Chipotle ... I like that they have many salsa choices (to know me is to know my love of a good salsa bar). I like that they have veggies they can add -- so I have more choices than just bean & cheese (which I love btw). I like that you can watch them put your burrito together. I shy from the 5 star rating because they tend to overstuff the burrito ... and one time I asked them to cut it in half and wrap it up separately ... I don't recommend letting the newbies do this ... it was a disaster. The other thing I don't approve of is their high calorie count ... but that's just my fat butt fighting with my taste buds. OLE!

Forget about Taco Bell, Chipotle is amazing. It's cheap, amazingly efficient (ordering is very simple), fast, and conveniently located. Their food is great, and you can't beat that price!

  • Anne S.

This place smells like terrible, rancid meat from the outside. It's so incredibly bad that when I walk in the general vicinity, I either hold my breath or take a detour all together. Why on earth any one would eat at a place that smelled like this from the outside, I have no idea.

    (1)
  • Aidan P.

This is one of the better Chipotle's for lunch - even when the line is out the door, they have the staff to get everyone fed. If you come early (~11:30) you can be in and out of here in a few minutes. If you really don't like waiting, then call ahead, use an app on your phone or order on the interwebs.

I love these burritos, I love the bowls, and I never get tired of eating Chipotle. I've ate a lot of meals from Chipotle over the years, and haven't had a bad one yet. Oscar WIlde might have said that consistency was the last refuge of the unimaginative, but then Chipotle wasn't around in the Victorian Era, were they? My whole family will eat it, and no one whines about wishing they were getting to eat somewhere else. And I love the way their fajita veggies aren't cooked to mush. They have yummy crunch left to them, and I like that they let me have them on my burrito for free, regardless of whether I'm eating meat that day, or going flesh-free. One thing I can't stand about the place though is that at any given location, it is one of the most awful locations to ingest a meal. I cannot enjoy my food eating in one of these places. I always, always get it to go. They're loud restaurants, and being in there for too long ruins my appetite. I love Andrew H's debunking review too, it was spot-on. Just an aside, how on earth would anyone know it was specifically Chipotle guacamole that was the cause of their intestinal disturbance, as opposed to the myriad other ingredients that went into their bowl? Hell, how would they even know it was anything from Chipotle that got them sick at all? Campylobacter and norovirus are the most common pathogens for food-borne illness in the US, and it takes 24-48 hours with either one to even become symptomatic.

I can honestly say that I have been to many Chipotles than I care to count and this one is a bit of a let down. The layout is just all wrong, especially if it is crowded. The place just gets crowded and dinners and people waiting for food collide. The service was fast and friendly. The food is like any other Chipotle, but like others have said, they do skimp on the amount when compared to others I've been to. Also, if you find yourself in need of using the facilities, make sure you check your receipt for the bathroom code prior to throwing it away.

Chipotle is the closest I get to eating at a fast food establishment, but I have been a regular at this location for months. While the food is not going to change your worldview on Mexican food, they deliver a consistent, quality product. The line moves efficiently and you can get through during the lunch rush in a reasonable amount of time. The staff is friendly and efficient. Because this location is consistently busy, the ingredients in your food will be fresh. If you're health conscious or tracking calories, they offer an online nutrition calculator to help determine the calories and nutrients in your food as well.

Man, I don't think Ima head back here any time soon. Came in for lunch to a not-that busy place, and literally felt like I had run through an obstacle course in the hopes that a burrito-bowl-type-object might emerge with me on the other end. Seriously guys, I know you've got that Model-T assembly line down pat, but pretending that you're dealing with humans on the other side of the counter wouldn't kill you. "What do you want." "Can I please have a burrito bo-" "brown or white rice." "brow-" "meat?" "um, what do you have? I've never been he-" ::points to various brown meats:: ::looks at board for lack of description:: "I guess I'll have the chi-" "Salsa." "Oh, yeah, pico de gallo and, is that a hotter one? I'd like-" "sour-cream-cheese" ::now I'm getting it:: "Yes." ::slop:: ::puts lid on:: "wait, can I get lettuce too?" ::sigh, lifts lid, light dusting of lettuce ensues:: " do you want water or a drink- that'll be 6..." ::bagged, hands to me:: "Nope, I guess I don't. Thanks?" Yikes. I think I developed a twitch during my 28 seconds in line. I'll just head to Qdoba next time, they are way friendlier there! Beans is beans. and I love beans.

Just like the others the Guac is addictive, the chicken is wonderful and you can choose what you want in your taco/burrito/bowl. the place was clean and staff was good. just avoid it a actual lunch time for it can sometimes be too long ofa wait but they are always working as fast as they can.

Food is great as you would expect at any chipotle. And the patron margarita... Excellent! I didn't think chipotle would have a margarita that good. I hated that I couldn't take the cup outside but I'm sure that's because of a law. And there was a protesting group that came inside yelling about meat and violence, that was kinda annoying. But this is your average good chipotle.

Chopitle is a great fast food restaurant. It doesnt have a good design, but it not bad comparison with the price. It is quiet, clean, and comfortable place, also all the stacfs were welcoming and kind. In general the atmosphere was good. However, long lines something i really dont like , but it shows you how much people loveit. Restaurant has two ways to get your food. The first one you can have your food in bowl and the socend one in bread. Actually I like the bowl, also they have two kinds of rice brown and white i like it both. When you chose your rice you can find your lovely beans. They also have grill well done chicken and medium done steak both are great. About the sauses they have many but there are two sauses hot sauce, sure cream those two I really like it. Finally chopitle is the best for fast lunch or dinner

Great fix for something another than a burger or sandwich for lunch. Huge burrito that is enough for a snack later. Expect a 10-15 min wait if you step in between 12-1 like I did. I always get the chicken burrito next time I should try the salad or bowl...

Chipotle is a fast food godsend for vegetarians. We can get in-and-out with a predictable, unhealthy meal for a bit too much money without having to sacrifice our morals. Chipotle is always there for me, and for that I am grateful. The quality of food at this location has never disappointed. My order has never been wrong (I typically order ahead and pick up later) and I've never not devoured my entire meal. With that being said, the employees at this location are somethin' else. Well, employee I should say. And in an effort to remain kind and compassionate, I won't name them - I also don't know their name - but I will say that there is a particular young lady working at this location who constantly seems like she's in a state of confusion. Every time I have visited to pick up an order she is clueless about how the store functions, how online orders work, how to process them efficiently, etc. Surely she has been there for some time now. I can't tell if it's poor training or carelessness. Either way, it's not a welcoming experience. You'll get what you're looking for here - Chipotle's menu, delicious burrito bowls, and subpar service - and nothing more. *If you're interested in optimizing your Chipotle experience, start stocking up on Taco Bell sauce - heat of your choice - on your drunken ventures, and use that on your next burrito. You'll never be able to eat Chipotle without it again. You're welcome.

This is one of the better QSRs out there. With it being right next door to work, it's hard not to dine here. I noticed that since my college days, Chipotle has been less generous with the rice. It's honestly my favorite thing they have to offer and I don't want less of it! It's awesome to see the progression of this company though. They now offer brown rice and something called Sofritas. It's a tofu option and perfect for Portlanders. I've tried it and it's actually pretty decent--especially since I'm not the biggest tofu fan. Don't be fooled, but they offer other things besides burritos and bowls (burritos without the tortilla and in a bowl, obviously). I ordered a chicken quesadilla because I had seen someone order it before. It's literally nothing more than shredded cheese and chicken. It was $5.70 for that. I'm gonna continue my quesadilla purchases at Taco Bell since quesadillas here cost as much as a burrito (starts at $6.70). Guacamole is an additional $1.95. You be the judge of whether or not that price is worth a dollop of nature's butter.

This place is sooooooooooooooooppoooo good. They are very busy but they always have good food. Sometimes I go here for lunch and get a burrito. I usually get it wuth chicken but I think you can also get it with steak or whatever. Haven't have the vegetarian style but I bet it's just as good.

Messy!!!!!!!!!! Workers were trying to work fast, but it caused them to slack on cleanliness. The silverware was out of stock and they were throwing tortillas around and working sloppy. Their counters weren't wiped after food fell on it. Also the venting system must be broken because it smelled awful inside.

When I was a child, I ate as a child; but when I became a man, I became a sucker for BOGO. I grew up in Bakersfield, CA, a town whose culinary scene consists of improbably highly-regarded Olive Gardens and a superlative strip-mall-to-Taco-Bell ratio. When the first Chipotle opened there, it was a bit of an event. This was food that was affordable, casual, and seemed to me at the time to be quite tasty. People remarked on the size of these burritos, dubiously boasting that one could last them several meals, as if this were an admirable talent. As I got older, tasted and cooked more, I realized Chipotle ain't all that good. It's pretty uninspired food. I remember the burritos being larger and better composed when I was a youngin, but perhaps this is the rosy nostalgia of a now-bitter man. So anyway, Chipotle offered a free burrito to anyone who tried the sofritas thing today. This and only this brought me back to Chipotle from a several year, quite joyous sabbatical. I'll only talk about the sofritas. It tastes powerfully of metallic canned tomatoes. Reminds me of a store-bought sloppy joe mix dialed slightly more Mex than Tex. The texture is gritty, like low-quality TVP (even though this is alleged to be tofu, and organic/non-GMO at that). I'm not sure I'll be using my GO from today's BO. Perhaps I'll give it to a young man, and tell him to enjoy this while it's still possible. For one day, he will put away childish things.

One would assume that providing food that is simple to make and put together wouldn't be such a challenge for 8 adult employees but... The employees at this Chipotle restaurant do not care at all about their jobs. They didn't care if the customers were happy or got what they wanted. It's 7:45pm on a Wednesday. There are 8 employees "working" right now. 8!? Please avoid this Chipotle. I've gotten better customer service from a vending machine.

unfriendly employer. Give way too less food. I love Chipotle.. but this place I will never come back. They give very less so you will need to pay another bowl to make you full.

One of my favorite fast food chains. Sure, they're not authentic by any means, but I get consistently tasty food here, which is good enough for me. Also, for the most part, I get two meals out of a burrito or bowl, which is a pretty good deal. The staff also lets me add all the salsas I want to my burrito, which is pretty rad. And the food is always fresh! Chipotle gets a thumbs up from me.

Business is brisk and so is the service (in a good way). I love that I can get my beloved Barbacoa Bowl quickly, sit down ane eat something tasty and nutritious, and be back out the door as quickly as I want to be. Even though there is quick and efficient service, I never feel any pressure to leave the establishment if I want to sit and read for awhile longer either. I like their emphasis on recycling. I guess my feeling is that fast food doesn't have to be bad food and Chipotle Grill provies my point. I've been eating at the Chipotle Grills around town since about 2005, and will continue to frequent this location because it's close to home and the food is tasty.

This is the only Chipotle I have been to regularly. I usually get the salad, hold the beans and rice, add fajita veggies and guac and it is a 3- to 4-star experience. The service is fast, not super friendly but they are usually busy when I go in. Yesterday I got a bowl and by the time I got all three kinds of salsa (one extra star for being flexible about salsa) and way too much watery sour cream, my bowl was only lukewarm. If I'm going to order hot food, the food should be hot enough to stand up to some cold toppings and still be hot. The bowl consists of beans, rice, and meat so it wasn't like there wasn't enough food to contrast with the cold ingredients. The bowl was also bland, which is surprising considering the different types of salsa, but they only added heat and very little flavor. I will stick to salads from now on.

I have a good experience here. The food was as to be expected decent. sitting outside with a nice atmosphere. And the staff was friendly. My only complaint was that the bathrooms were slightly dirty.

That's right, I did it, and I won't apologize either. I'm not going to cower behind the label of "guilty pleasure" like Harry Potter/Twilight/The OC fans do either. I legitimately think the food here is tasty. Chipotle is a cult that I'm proudly a member of, I CRAVE the food here which means one of two things: 1)the food is good 2)Soluble-meth-food-infusion I'll let you decide which has a greater probability. The food here is always FRESH, the burritos are always filling, and the hot salsa is actually HOT (this is more than I can say for 99% of "Mexican" places, actually...I've always wondered why Mexican food even has a reputation for being "hot"...but that's for another time). The MEATS are incredibly tasty, I almost never get chicken anything when there are tortillas involved but the chicken here is so delightfully crisp around the edges and perfectly seasoned. (chicken at most Mexicanish places tastes like it was cooked in sea water) OK sheeple, can you honestly look at yourself in the mirror and tell me that you'd be dinging the shit out of Chipotle if it were a mom and pop burrito cart in the SE area? What about if a friend of yours invited you over for burritos and they tasted like this? Come. Let's debunk some of the anti-Chipotle rhetoric that seems to be all the rage right now: -Chipotle is owned by McDonald's: this is not true, at all. At one time Mickey D's (which I hate, btw) INVESTED capital into Chipotle, much in the same way that your 401k at work probably has you invested in all sorts of companies you may or may not like. Chipotle used this money to expand and grow to the point it is at today, McD's has since divested 100%. This was not the creation of the McDonald's corporation, it started as the baby of a chef who wanted to sell San Francisco-style burritos in Denver. It began with one single store opened with a $85,000 loan.. So when did McDonald's divestment occur? October 2006, which means everyone making a McBurrito-connection post this date (there is only one review from before this date) is INCORRECT. -"Authentic", "fake Mexican", "white rice", etc: these are MISSION STYLE BURRITOS people, GOOGLE it. If everyone had your attitude we would've never discovered the miracle of the cheeseburger (WHAT?! A slice of CHEESE on a hamburger??!! WHY?!) or all the Americanized mayonnaise/cream cheese-infused sushi rolls some people seem to go crazy over (NOT me on this one). Chipotle isn't trying to be "authentic" (whatever THAT means). -Chipotle has infinity calories: well, so do most of the places you eat, they just don't publish their numbers or they aren't as widely targeted/available. You eat two Big Mac's a day and I'll eat one Chipotle burrito, let's see who lives longer. This also isn't like eating X,XXX calories of trans fats and high fructose corn syrup either, there are also a lot of NUTRIENTS in these burritos as well. Chipotle doesn't claim to be "healthy" only "responsible" in that the cows and piggies aren't beaten as rigorously as they are at most other places...or something like that. -NO CHIPS: cry me a fucking river people. So a 2lb burrito baby isn't enough, you HAVE to have chips n' salsa too? I go out to eat to...EAT, not to munch on chips. Are you the same people that are physically incapable of watching a movie without chomping on popcorn? I'll trade up more ACTUAL food for chips anyday. Which brings me to... -COST: seriously it's around 6 bucks for two meals, that's $3/meal that's cheaper than most shit you could whip up at your house. If you want chips so bad take one home and use your own chips and favorite salsa. -GUAC being extra: I'm not a huge avocado fan (I'm avocagnostic), so I don't feel any empathy for you here. But if you were one of the people above that moaned of health issues, maybe you should hold off on the guac or get it instead of meat. [insert passive-aggressive smiley here] I'm done. Also: the burritos here are way better than the bland ones at Cha! Cha! Cha! or Ole Ole, which offer a similar product but are locally owned (as far as I know).

This Chipotle seems to keep a steady line of customers, but the workers fill the orders fast, (the line moves). The food is hot, fresh, table and space is kept clean. The food doesn't Wow me but it doesn't make me sick either. If you want something quick, on the go, this is a okay spot to eat.

we had some coupons from the providence bridgepedal, and started with a pacifico beer....next, we had the veggie salad, and the veggie salad with tofu.... both were delicious with black beans, lots of veggies, etc. the staff were nice and efficient. ...clean and festive inside...thx

I discovered Chipotle now serves brown rice as an option?!? Major props for that! However, the burrito I had here was not as good as other Chipotle locations I've eaten at, nor was the guacamole. Perhaps it was lacking in freshness

Standard Chipotle food. It normally would be three stars, but the staff at this location can pump the people through quickly and keep the line moving right along... All in all...a very good lunch choice when downtown.

Came on a Sunday. Long lines. Tables were dirty and store was very dirty. Mens restroom hot water didn't shut off. 2 stars due to the food being alright. I had to clean my own table and asked an employee for a towel and I never saw them again.

I've been coming here for years since I started working down town. Yes it's Mexican-American infused food. I get that. Here is some facts about Chipotle that you might have not known about. 90% Chipotle at one time was controlled by McDonalds (MCD). The reason for this was that Cipotle needed capital to expand, McDonalds offered the money so they could expand, they are a business and business is out there to make money. In Janurary 2006 McDonalds shoved the business out on a IPO in the New York Stock Exchange, but they owed 80% of class B shares. Than in October 2006 the company offered .88 shares for every 1 share of MCD that a share holder owned. Today (8/3/11) the stock is worth $325.58 as share. If you converted your shares of MCD (say 100 shares for 88 shares) your stock would be worth $28,651.04...MCD $8,558...Both stocks are up, but as you can see, don't you wish you got on the Chipotle train? So enough of that. Like I said I've been coming here for years. I like it, it's fresh and taste great. It's busy during lunch but whatever. I've never had any problems with the place at all, except that one time I had to wait for the chicken. Not a group friendly place, if you have a table of 6 you'll all be spreaded apart.

Chipotle is always a good choice for a tasty, and somewhat nutritious, meal. My partner and I frequent the food trucks, but if there's a big line, or the place we're hoping for is closed, Chipotle is always there to pick up the slack. Their cilantro-lime rice is so yummy; I actually found a recipe online, and have been making it ever since. I love their Barbacoa, and their carnitas aren't too shabby either. Plus they have the chipotle Tabasco sauce, so everything tastes even better.

I am a fan of Chipotle. It is really good food at any time. I love chicken bowl with mixed brown and white rice, black beans and all additions. After a long day studying, I have this delicious meal with chips. It makes my stomach full the whole day.

Subway of burritos. I want to like this place because for a quick option, they seem to carry quality ingredients. My tacos literally fell apart and it was more of a salad with soggy corn tortillas. The street trucks do better tacos for less price!

Whether it's Mexican fast food or a $$$$ restaurant, we don't seem to like either one. I guess there are many reasons for that including, well, just being fast food or being so over priced it just ruins the experience. Several weeks ago we watched the pseudo-documentary on Netflix about the founder, the philosophy, the transformation, the purpose and well, you get the picture. After watching the movie I was so impressed with the place but up to that point, had never eaten there. I tend to avoid all fast food like the plague and Chipotle was no exception. There's just something about it. Anyway, I sent them an email to tell them how impressed we were with the film and the person responding to the email was just all over that. "Give me your address so I can send you a gift card and your first experience at Chipotle will be on us." What the heck. A really cool website where you can put together your dish and get a complete calorie and nutrient evaluation. That way you know exactly what you're getting. I decided after looking at that it was going to be the one and only time I'll be eating there. The doors were blown off the whole thing by the sodium content alone. Again, if you're going to eat this stuff you had better have a diuretic on hand for the next day because you're going to need it. You will blow your entire daily salt wad right here. I decided to make mine into a burrito bowl and it was OK, just not anything to write home about. A bed of lettuce topped with stuff that looked like it had been prechewed just for me. The preparation was simply throw in a spoon full of this and a spoonful of that. Where was the love I so desperately need in my food? Apparently there wasn't any. Oh well. It is what is it is. Just more fast food but in this case it's with humanely raised animals and local organic ingredients when possible. Draw your own conclusions. Just a note about the founder, Steve Ells. He's actually a CIA graduate who had aspirations of opening his own white linen 4 star restaurant. He doesn't need to care about that anymore because he has a bazillion dollars. :)

I'm a fan of this Chipotle location since they have it all together quite well! There's always a long line for lunch (I mean it is the lunch rush) but it's never a super duper long wait and I still have time to order my food and sit down to eat it within the hour. If you need something quick to grab for lunch, I recommend this Chipotle location.

You know me, I am always a fan of chipotle :). I decided to hit up this one after a long day at work. Luckily the line was short (aka no line!) and they had just cooked up a batch of fresh chicken. I got my traditonal order of a chicken burrito bowl and was not disappointed with the extra extra corn the lady gladly put on at my request! :) This was a convienent, clean location. We seriously need one of these in hawaii!!

There ain't nothin' wrong with Chipotle, people. Nothin'. Hadn't been in a couple of years. Revisited recently. Brown Rice now. Calorie counts on everything. Simple. Healthy. Fast. Love it.

Really, this is about the only "fast food" restaurant that I frequent. The flavors are great and I love the customization of a burrito. My favorites are the chicken (tasty marinade), or the barbacoa beef. The food is very consistent, and if you avoid the cheese and sour cream, the calories and fat are not too high. ALWAYS get a side of guacamole and some chips, or at least get guac on your burrito; the Chipotle guac is wonderful and fresh. This downtown location really knows how to push through the customers quickly; the staff is fast, courteous, and respectful. I don't like how expensive Chipotle has become the last three years, so I eat here less often than I used to, but the food remains excellent. My family has some gluten-free and dairy-free members, so we can always count on everyone in the family being able to eat here because the orders can be easily customized and the food is freshly prepared. We also appreciate the use of organic meats.

I have eaten at Chipotle a handful of times, but have done so less frequently over the last few years because I feel like I'm in a herd of cattle every time I step up to the counter. I very much appreciate that Chipotle is into sustainability & animals raised with love, but they clearly don't build their business model around a pleasant customer experience. Their line employees are putting out so much food so quickly that they don't care how unpleasant they are....it really wouldn't kill them to smile, or act like I am a human being. During my visit this afternoon, one of the young "ladies" on the line acted like I asked for her first born child when I requested fajita veggies, which required the (apparently) difficult task of sliding my burrito back to the previous line employee. If I had the opportunity to ask for them before my food was passed, or if someone would have made eye contact with me, I would have. Now onto the salsa....I asked for a very small amount of spicy salsa, which she proceeded to ladle into my burrito. By the time I got back to work (2 blocks) my tortilla was saturated with liquid and completely soggy, and the burrito was so spicy I couldn't eat it. There are way too many delicious food options in Portland to waste my time and money on this place.

  • Sadra K.

What can I say? It's Chipotle! They messed up my order twice in 1 day, but who cares! The line is incredible long, which is the root cause for the errors, however the Portland Chipotles are far more fresh and tasty than any other Chipotle I have been to in the states.

Average food. Speedy service. Nothing bad to say about this particular location. My salad was good, the meat was warm, and the service was speedy. Not much to add. Don't go here if you are looking for anything authentic. Take it for what it is, fast food that is a little healthier than most places.

    (2)
  • Laura N.

Ohh, Chipotle... (That's chi-POT-uuul for those who aren't familiar with the correct pronunciation...) ...because if you're gonna do fake Mexican, you may as well rock the fake pronunciation. dos Mc-stars.

Have not been to this location but since the PSU shop isn't listed I'll leave my review here. Love the carnitas--fresh and tasty without making me feel weighed down. Great for lunch or dinner. They also have gift cards...smart AND tasty! :-p

This place gets a solid 4 stars. There was nothing exceptional about it, but definitely nothing wrong with it. The food was fresh, served in a cafeteria type setting. The rice had chopped cilantro in it which added a nice taste. Would go back if I was looking for something quick and easy.

The food was great here, The rice was soft the meat was tender and the chips are salty :) The place was clean and the service was fast. Honestly what else could you expect from a chiptole~

This is not my favorite Chipotle location. Parking sucks, they run out of food often, and it's downtown (enough said.) The service is fine, but never goes above and beyond (even when they run out of salsa and sour cream.) I would skip this location and head to the one by Lloyd center instead!

First time eating at a Chipotle. It was ok. Might try it again if there wasn't anything else. I got the Carnitas with black beans burrito. Was a good size but didn't have much flavor. I am sure (hope!) Portland has much better options.

Its one of the better fast food options. Soft tacos are good, rice bowls are good. Rice can be oily and salty at times. Watch the burritos, they are carrying over 1000 calories!!!! YIKE. Its not great mexican food but it gets the job done. Tables are clean and refills are free.

OLE!

This place smells like terrible, rancid meat from the outside. It's so incredibly bad that when I walk in the general vicinity, I either hold my breath or take a detour all together. Why on earth any one would eat at a place that smelled like this from the outside, I have no idea.

Have not been to this location but since the PSU shop isn't listed I'll leave my review here. Love the carnitas--fresh and tasty without making me feel weighed down. Great for lunch or dinner. They also have gift cards...smart AND tasty! :-p

The food was great here, The rice was soft the meat was tender and the chips are salty :) The place was clean and the service was fast. Honestly what else could you expect from a chiptole~

This is not my favorite Chipotle location. Parking sucks, they run out of food often, and it's downtown (enough said.) The service is fine, but never goes above and beyond (even when they run out of salsa and sour cream.) I would skip this location and head to the one by Lloyd center instead!

A Haiku Review of Chipotle: Yes, it's a big chain. But man, can they grill! Get in my belly.

This place smells like terrible, rancid meat from the outside. It's so incredibly bad that when I walk in the general vicinity, I either hold my breath or take a detour all together. Why on earth any one would eat at a place that smelled like this from the outside, I have no idea.

Average food. Speedy service. Nothing bad to say about this particular location. My salad was good, the meat was warm, and the service was speedy. Not much to add. Don't go here if you are looking for anything authentic. Take it for what it is, fast food that is a little healthier than most places.

What can I say? It's Chipotle! They messed up my order twice in 1 day, but who cares! The line is incredible long, which is the root cause for the errors, however the Portland Chipotles are far more fresh and tasty than any other Chipotle I have been to in the states.

Great fix for something another than a burger or sandwich for lunch. Huge burrito that is enough for a snack later. Expect a 10-15 min wait if you step in between 12-1 like I did. I always get the chicken burrito next time I should try the salad or bowl...

This is one of the better Chipotle's for lunch - even when the line is out the door, they have the staff to get everyone fed. If you come early (~11:30) you can be in and out of here in a few minutes. If you really don't like waiting, then call ahead, use an app on your phone or order on the interwebs.

Ohh, Chipotle... (That's chi-POT-uuul for those who aren't familiar with the correct pronunciation...) ...because if you're gonna do fake Mexican, you may as well rock the fake pronunciation. dos Mc-stars.

What can I say? It's Chipotle! They messed up my order twice in 1 day, but who cares! The line is incredible long, which is the root cause for the errors, however the Portland Chipotles are far more fresh and tasty than any other Chipotle I have been to in the states.

Subway of burritos. I want to like this place because for a quick option, they seem to carry quality ingredients. My tacos literally fell apart and it was more of a salad with soggy corn tortillas. The street trucks do better tacos for less price!

Great fix for something another than a burger or sandwich for lunch. Huge burrito that is enough for a snack later. Expect a 10-15 min wait if you step in between 12-1 like I did. I always get the chicken burrito next time I should try the salad or bowl...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
