The owner of the Hollywood District Baja Fresh in Portland, OR, his name is Ron, gave horrible customer service today. Not only did he insult a customer, but he also trashed Baja Fresh the company and proceeded to say "he could care less if the customer went and filed a complaint with the Baja Fresh corporate office, that he owns six restaurants and that they don't pay him, he pays them." The customer was not asking for free food, he just wanted the food that he had ordered to be replaced, because the plate he was given was not what he had ordered. Ron did a horrible job in managing this situation, and told the customer he was acting stupid and insulted the customer first. Now I and my family will not be eating at another Baja Fresh after this kind of treatment, especially if there is no consistency in how customer service complaints are handled.

Baja is a chain..there is no way around that...but I love the manager. Great guy and always really helpful. Food is ok..nothing special. But I still like ya Baja, and I will be back.

Taco Tuesday has been eradicated. Went in on a Tuesday and after being disappointed myself, watched a parade of other would-be Tuesday Taco partygoers have their hopes and dreams crushed. Bring it back BF. One thing I will say though to the patrons is that the cashier taking your order did not he himself pull the plug on Taco Tuesday.

Baja Fresh, otherwise known as the Mecca for annoying high school girls, is one place I couldn't care less about. I just had a Chicken Caeser Salad Burrito there, and although it was alright, there wasn't anything great about it. I've found that to be the case for most of their food. Nothing is really bad, but none of it stands out either. The place is a melting pot of annoying people. We've got construction workers, high school girls, my friends and I, and even more annoying high school girls. So the food is about a 3 1/2, even though there is nothing special about it. The lunch rush is something I don't recommend getting stuck in, so try to get there before 12. You won't have the best meal of your life, but at least it won't be the worst.

The people at this location are super friendly! & that is worth a return trip right their. A solid Americanized - Mexican food choice. It's made somewhat fresh and is consistent. The call in process is really user friendly - they verify the order again with you before you pay - then they physically check the bag to make sure it all matches up. Great customer service and solid food.

A Baja Fresh was near my hotel down in San Diego a few years ago. I was at a conference, it was late, I just wanted something quick to chew on while I drank a lot of beer in my hotel room. It was really good and that was that. When I got back to PDX, there was a Baja Fresh in Hollywood. I love their fresh salsa bar. My M.I.L loves the fish Tacos. It's all fresh, it's not greasy and it's cheap. For me, the burrito ultimo is just that, the ultimate. And they have Negra Modelo!

I've only been to a Baja Fresh twice in my 8 years in OR. May 2015 I went to this one for a chicken burrito. It was good sized and good tasting. Could have been more chicken. Was glad to see they had black beans. A number of different salsas. Fast and affordable.

Came in for a free birthday burrito. The manager took the coupon and instead of a birthday wish, just looked at me and requested to see my i.d. The salsa bar was closed so the salsas were sitting out in square plastic containers on a table. I noticed a cardboard sign taped to one of the soda machines and overheard other patrons discussing the store's refrigeration issues. Although my burrito came out as quick as expected in a fast food joint, it was significantly smaller than I remember. With so many places in Portland that offer birthday incentives I think I will pass on this one next year.

I generally like Baja Fresh, but this location is a huge miss. Waited forever for our food and it was simply terrible. Stale chips and it's like their get their produce and equipment at some other place than the rest of the Baja Freshes of the world. Portland, why are you so bad at cheap Mexican? Even the chains!

For fast food mexican, not a bad deal. Had the taco salad with shrimp. The shrimp was cooked to perfection but the shell was dark (over cooked). Not a big loss since I'm shying away from carbs.

I ate a surf and turf burrito from here last night for dinner and it gave me food poisoning! I've was throwing up all night and it hasn't stopped yet this morning. I will be notifying the health department.

Yesterday's experience at the Mall 205 store. What happened at this location? Almost no steak on the tacos, maybe half an ounce. Why does the men's room still smell. Same bad smell from my visit here last year. And, what happened to selling beer. Baja Fresh was my favorite fast food franchise restaurant.

This place is rather nice and modern for a chain outlet. The burrito was nice. Even with the staff being so lean the counter fellow went out of his way to make my experience tolerable and decent. The burrito was warm and tasty. I usually do not have my burrito with beans but in that case - since I was so hungry - I ate it. The burrito was quite large. I did like the salsa bar. It enhanced the chips. I suppose that is the purpose of salsa and I saw that the taco plate was equally as generous as the staff is.

Pros: Good food and friendly service. Tastes exactly like other locations. Cons: Bullet holes in the windows and transient dancing in the middle of the restaurant.

Baja Fresh is our standby when we want something fresh, reliable, tasty, and reasonably priced. We're never disappointed.

I had a coupon so I thought I'd give this place a try. That was a mistake. The food may be fresh, and maybe it is healthy. But is sure isn't good. The carnitas burrito was tastless. It had no seasoning whatsoever. Bland beans, rice, and pork. The shrimp bowl was no better. And it isn't cheap, either. Don't bother with this place!

Good burritos here and the staff is very friendly and accepted my coupon without question. It's fast food, with fast food pricing, but the options are much healthier and tastier. As to the number of calories in the food: They offered nutritional guides at the counter, so it shouldn't be hard to find something on the lighter side. I got a burrito mexicano (no sour cream or cheese) and saved half for later. Portion size definitely makes a difference because these are pretty big burritos!

Baja Fresh has a grilled mahi-mahi taco now, and I tried it today. Mmmm.....juicy, good-sized cut of mahi-mahi among slices of avocado, fresh cabbage, cilantro, guacamole and pico di gallo. Heaven.

Pretty dang good for fast food. We were in a hurry to find something quick to eat and Lo and behold baja fresh appeared next to a Kinkos. I was hesitant, but hunger won, and I'm glad, because I'd probably have never given the place a try. I had the burrito. Chips and salsa also good, and free. Although you know, nothing is really ever free...

you know, mexican food can be healthy. i've been doing weight watchers for a few months now, and it's really my favorite thing that is "diet friendly" to go out to. but holy crap, we went to baja fresh for lunch today. i thought i was being good, getting my burrito with no cheese, guac on the side, and with grilled chicken. i came home and checked the nutritional info: 790 calories 38 grams of fat WTF???? Almost as bad as getting some french fries and nuggets from mickey d's. I was shocked and appalled. Did it taste good? Well, yeah. But SO not worth it. Be warned: if you're trying to eat healthy, this is not a safe place for you.

I can deal with Baja Fresh if I don't think of it as Mexican food. It's decent in a pinch, often a good 'compromise' place if you need to go out with someone who thinks Appleby's is gourmet. No secrets here, it's just tortillas, meat, beans, and a few veggies.

So good! SO HEALTHY! They have a SALAD BURRITO! Chicken Cesar - it's great and crunchy! They have a salsa bar and there is never a line and it's really clean. They have beers and its super cheep - I have no idea why anyone wouldn't love this place. Maybe you can't get a salad burrito in Mexico for real, but YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO! THey are great!

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
