Soooooooo I'm pretty sure I've had all the coffee to be had on the west side so with that said these ladies pump out the best latte I've had so far in Portland. Hazelnut milk mocha latte with four shots. Treat yo self!! Sleep when you're dead! Caffeinated! Oh and order the #5 bagel sandwich.

Super tiny place but a great place for bagels and sandwiches! I got an everything bagel with cream cheese. Kept it simple and it was simply delicious. The bagel was so soft I don't even know how they heated it up!! Too soft to go in a toaster but if so, props to B Street. My bf got the create your own sandwich on a croissant and it was soft and fresh.

The chai was rich but oh so good!! They were very allergy friendly and so kind and positive, despite one girl having a hard day. I had a waffle that's was gf df and delicious. My chai wasn't made with 2/3 alternatives offered (soy and almond) but they had a 3rd option I could have thankfully. It looks like a hole in the wall at first and is a fantastic order Togo stop but it's highly worth it. There are two tables inside to sit at if you choose to stay. I will certainly be back!!!!

I've been to this location twice as it is super close to my friends place. It's a very convenient and cute little place. They use nossa familia coffee which is local and delicious, which is all I got my first trip in here over the winter. Recently I went back and had breakfast here and was not disappointed. I had a quality bagel breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee. The woman working here was very polite and courteous. My friend had a vegan banana nut waffle which he really enjoyed as well, so if you're vegan it's a great option! I'd like to go back and check out the happy hour as it looks like they have great deals. They also have a cute chalkboard for people to pay ahead for their friends or family which I think is adorable :)

Like a Portlandian Faberge egg, B Street squeezes an enormous amount of quality and delicate complexity into it's tiny little space. Besides serving up the best cappuccino I've ever had, both the tomato basil soup, and the massive curry potato soup in a sour dough bread bowl was delicious and a steal at just $5, as was their $2.50 home made waffle. The service was fast, and not pretentious, even though they deserved to be with such high end locally sourced fare. The only negative is B Street is closer to a bike lane than a full street. This tiny little cove is cozy, but can only comfortably fit a few patrons, so if it's not empty when you arrive, be ready to take your B Street on the road!

Absolutely love this place and the gluten free waffles. I had the dutch Apple waffle with cinnamon and agave nectar and it was so delicious Everyone who works here is super friendly. Their drinks are also just as fabulous. The only downside to this place is the lack of seating.

Ifi could give more stars I would! Amazing everything with killer service. All of our questions were patiently answered. The service was quick. It looks like a hole in the wall, but I promise you won't be disappointed. Gf waffle heaven. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu.

The parfait said fresh fruit. It only had bananas on top. A little miss leading if you ask me. I was really craving some berries... Like most parfaits have! The baristas were wonderful and very nice! Coffee was tasty and the waffle was decent.

We visited this little spot while on vacation from Denver. Usually, I want to try as many new places as possible when I'm on vacation, but the gluten free waffles are so good here, that we had to go twice! I had the banana nut and the apple cinnamon, both of which were amazing. I liked the banana nut a little more though because I don't really like the texture of cooked apples (just a personal preference, nothing done wrong by B street). The beau got the huevos waffle, complete with sausage, eggs, and salsa on top--a great way to start the morning. Their coffee was great, just wish there a spot like this in Denver!

Finally a place near me that serves breakfast all day! I got the bacon, egg, and cheddar bagel sandwich and it was much better than I expected. Bagel was toasted perfectly, bacon was crispy, real egg, and the cheese melted. I also got a single waffle at happy hour (2-5) for $2.50 including butter and syrup. Equally as good as the bagel sandwich The gift-a-drink concept they have is pretty cool The service was also quick and friendly

Cute little place! And I do mean little. Great coffees and teas, beers and wines and even waffles! Plus they have happy hour! I'll definitely be back often.

Had breakfast for four and sat at one of the two high tables. We were comfortable and breakfast was delicious. I had huevos rancheros waffles, a breakfast sandwich with ham and two orders of Dutch Apple waffles. Chai and coffee were good. For the size of the space we were very Impressed with the food quality and taste. No big parties. Come with a friend.

Staying just up the street in an air b&b (vacation rental). I would love to live near a coffee shop like this. Such good coffee!! The food was pretty good (we ordered veggie egg sandwich & waffles with bananas), but go for the coffee. Really nice & friendly service. Not snooty about the obviousness of our non-Portlandian status. Ohhh, the coffee!!!

I am always looking for a yummy gluten free menu and I'd heard about B Street coffee. I was disappointed with the service. The girl at the register was horrible, no eye contact, grumpy and never once did I see her smile no matter how hard customers tried to get a smile out of her. First impression was a complete flop. I won't go back which is really too bad as the gluten free waffles were delicious. Oh coffee out of a paper cup is unacceptable for anything other than take out.

Great little place! We went in search of it for breakfast, to get some waffles & coffee. I went about a month back with my husband, our 1 year old & our good friend who lives in Portland. First, the waffles were amazing! I had the apple waffles, my husband had the banana peanut butter, and our friend had the eggs & bacon. All good! We didn't bring a stroller....good thing. It is a very small space & would have been hard to maneuver. People wound up leaving from the table outside, so we ate there. A lot of traffic on the street, so not the greatest ambiance, but the food made up for it. Would definitely go back.

While I miss the sweet couple that ran Kiwan Cafe Rio, the new owner of B Street Coffee House is very nice and gave the space a much needed facelift. It is cleaner and brighter inside. She kept the gluten free, vegan waffles and mine was light and delicious. There are a very few places in town I trust with my gluten free, dairy free, soy free dietary needs, but B Street Coffee House didn't let me down! The Dutch apple topping was not as generous as the previous owners but when she served us the waffles she let us know if we wanted more agave syrup or cinnamon to let her know. So we did ask for more and the extras flowed freely! I also asked about the creamy stuff served on top, which is a vegan topping made from nuts. She gave us more of that too! The biggest improvement is that they now serve Nossa Familia coffee! Whatever they served before was awful. Nossa Familia coffee rocks! Service is slow but in a tiny space where your order is custom-made, you should expect less than immediate results. Personally, to me, this adds to the charm of this tiny place: there is abundant time to enjoy the company of those you are dining with! The new, clean high tables with comfortable bar stools made the time pass quickly. One disclaimer: I am not celiac. I can't review from the standpoint of cross contamination. My gluten/dairy/soy intolerances are significant and I have never felt sick after eating here, but again if you are celiac you should review on your own criteria.

This perfect little coffee shop has a bunch of Gluten free options. It's a great place to grab a cup of coffee, or have a breakfast that you don't have to feel bad about. This place is under new ownership. The new owner is young and full of life. She seems to be more than happy to accommodate anyone's eating lifestyle with fantastic flavors. I will be back for sure. This place has a Midwest friendly type of atmosphere that I miss from when I was young. If you check this place out, I'm sure it will win you over.

This place is amazing! I went one weekend when I was looking for something tasty for breakfast but in a shorter time than a sit down place. This place fits the bill and then some. Extremely small on the inside, but perfect for getting something to go or enjoying a cup of coffee. I had a bagel breakfast sandwich. Delish. Service was quick and friendly, coffee was pretty good. This is now my new favorite quick-and-easy breakfast spot in Portland!

Let's get one thing straight: B Street Coffee House rocks! I visited it several times on my last trip to Portland, and I couldn't wait to tell the world about B Street Coffee House. There are many *things* to love about this place, but things are NOT what defines this place. It is the people that make this place wonderful. I could tell you about their delicious gluten free and vegan waffles and their rich, satisfying Nossa Familia coffee, but you could probably read about it in other reviews. I could tell you that the bagels at B Street are from a company in Portland, which might as well be in New York - that's how authentic those bagels are! They have gluten free bagels, too. How the heck does that even work? I happen to love gluten, but a good waffle is a good waffle.... and that was a GOOD waffle. But I digress. The best *thing* about this coffee shop is the people. Caitlin, the owner of B Street Coffee, is one of the friendliest, most helpful and accommodating people you'll ever meet. Stephanie, Caitlin's trusted associate, is extremely personable and genuine as well. Both of them are eager to talk to you, tell you about the goings on in Portland and offer a piece of advice and a smile. They are not trying to rush you out the door, as they are sincerely happy you stopped by. Even the regulars here make newcomers feel welcome. It's no coincidence - good people tend to gravitate towards good people. The place is not too big, so don't forget to put on deodorant for the sake of your fellow patrons. Oh, and watch that step when you walk in - it's a bit tricky.

My first visit was tonight with my cousin who was visiting Portland. The barista was very welcoming and the place is so cute. Looks like they have healthy options and the Americano I had was great. I will definitely come here more often. Glad we stopped by to try this nice shop. The treats look great too.

GREAT coffee! Really rich without being bitter. I got the Ranchos waffle, and it was delicious! I was a little worried about savory toppings on top of a waffle, because it just seems like sweet toppings are more suitable. But it was perfect! The waffle itself was freshly cooked and really tasty. I would have eaten it plain! But the plentiful toppings made it a solid breakfast. Awesome staff, too.

So thankful for this breakfast spot. Honestly Portland has like almost no breakfast places to eat at. The service is great here and so is the food. The banana nut waffle was yummy but my macchiato was too strong? Maybe it's just me but such a nice establishment for quick yummy breakfast.

Some of the best coffee I've ever had. The staff was friendly with us, so I don't know what happened to the person who rated it so low because we had a great experience. They only have 3 tables so don't plan on eating in if it's a peak time. However, we had the breakfast sandwiches and they were absolutely fantastic. A great variety of bagels and cheeses to choose from and reasonably priced.

Absolutely delicious! I have celiacs disease so finding places to eat out can be a struggle, the gluten free waffles here are hands down the best waffles I have ever had! I came in for the first time yesterday and had the bacon and egg waffle with strawberry lemonade. Everything was so good that I had to come back in today with my mom! I ended up getting the bacon and egg again as well as the Dutch apple and banana nut with strawberry lemonade. Everything was incredible! The waffles have a wonderful texture, crisp on the outside fluffy on the inside! The owner is so sweet and was happy to tell me some more about her business. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I will definitely be back again! Make sure you get some strawberry lemonade too!

Stumbled across this place one weekend morning, walking past and was early for another appointment. I was originally just looking for a cup of coffee. I never did get a cup of coffee. I did however get a cup of their house chai, which while delicious, needed a bit more chai in it. The highlight of my morning however was their dutch apple waffle. They made it right there and then brought it out to me on a real plate with real silverware. It was excellent. They've got a nice cozy place, feels almost like a hobbit hole. They're unfortunately not in a place I'm around frequently, I'll make sure to stop by again when I'm around.

Pretty similar to its predecessor Cafe Rio in both feel and menu. It seemed cleaner and less cluttered which was nice but the first water I got had a bunch of sediment from dust in the cup or something (not a big deal as she quickly gave us a new one when mention). Small but not crowded, tasty breakfast food with gluten free options. They also removed smoothies from there menu which was disappointing to me but I just walked over to elephants deli after too solve that problem.

Kim B.
I had two plain waffles with scrambled eggs and coffee for brunch. The waffles are delicious. Strangely, because I was eating inside the server gave me a glass for the coffee (not a mug). I will try the other waffles eventually. I give this four stars since I felt that the chairs and tables were too high for me. It would be great if the tables were lower. The waffle was delicious, golden brown, and dense. Definitely worth a stop.
Nice little coffee shop. It was a block away from our hotel so we tried it out one morning. Coffee was good, breakfast sandwiches were excellent. Recommend the bacon, egg, cheese and avocado on a bagel.

Stephanie L.
This place is cozy and cute for a quick breakfast. We were visiting from Vancouver and the owner was genuine and friendly. She was very attentive to my egg and nut allergy and made some delicious waffles for me :) My other friends also enjoyed their perfectly toasted bagels with eggs and bacon. Definitely recommend this place !

A rare find. More than coffee. Hand-crafted waffle delights, bagels, bagel sandwiches, and sandwiches for lunch --so refreshingly unlike those corporatized frozen food outlets that you find on every corner.

I was really looking forward to the revamp here. The decor is SO much better then it was but it could still be better. I like the coffee and come here often for my morning drink. However, the food needs work. It's great that they have option for those that are gluten free. I tried the gluten free waffle and personally, I did not enjoy it. Next time I decided to try a veggie bagel sandwich. The eggs are microwaved on the bagel sandwiches. The next time I came in I decided to try a rancheros waffle. Again, the whole thing was just disappointing and dry (Also the salsa on the waffle was Pace Picante. I'm not saying a great recipe can't use pace picante because I grew up eating the stuff and there is a soft spot in my heart for pace - but it's not going to be great on rancheros waffles). I will still go there for my coffee and basic bagel with cream cheese because I like the owner and the staff and appreciate the small local business. Maybe if you're gluten free you'll love it.

Definitely worth a stop.

jet fuel latté! great little quick stop for a coffee and pastry. menu includes much more than that, but didn't get a chance to try it.

Nice little coffee shop. It was a block away from our hotel so we tried it out one morning. Coffee was good, breakfast sandwiches were excellent. Recommend the bacon, egg, cheese and avocado on a bagel.
