I was visiting the Oregon coast with my family and we stumbled across this little restaurant next to the dollar store. On our last day, before our long drive back to Seattle, we decided to give it a try. Being from Hawaii I am pretty particular with my shave ice. They actually order their syrups from the very popular Matsumoto's Shave Ice on the island of Oahu. For those of you who are like me, who want very fine ice (like Waiola Shave Ice) THIS IS IT. :) I was very pleased with their flavor selection, but most of all I was impressed with how fine their ice was. Which, in my opinion, really makes the shave ice great. We also ordered ten pieces of the lemon pepper bone in wings and they were DELICIOUS. I personally don't even like chicken, so that's saying something. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Even if you're not into shave ice, the wings were great as well!

While visiting from Salt Lake City we have eaten a lot of excellent seafood but were in the mood for some chicken. This fine establishment beckoned at our call from afar. I ordered 10 boneless chicken tenders, five with beaver sauce, five with garlic Parmesan on. The garlic Parmesan was absolutely amazing! They call it a dry rub yet it was still moist and flavorful. The beaver sauce was a mild and sweet barbecue sauce that was packed with flavor. The chicken overall was moist and tender and didn't have any chewy spots in it whatsoever. I ordered a large pina colada shaved ice with sweetened condensed milk poured over the top. When she brought it out to us my friends and I started laughing because it was massive! We asked for two extra spoons and all three of us started engorging ourselves on shaved ice. Wow! It had lots of flavor and the condensed milk made it extra special. If I could do it over again I would probably order the wings on the bone just to see how they are prepared. I will definitely come back here on a visit next September. We had a great experience.

We just relocated to Newport from Reno, NV where we had a favorite dive for chicken wings. They were breaded and are what we use to measure all chicken wings. Knowing that, it is probably understandable why this wasn't our fave - they don't have any breaded options. The hubby and I would come back weekly if they add breaded to their menu. By all means, please let me know if this becomes an option :) The bone-in garlic parmesean wings were a complete disappointment... while they were juicy, they were boring. I won't order them again. We prefer the blobs of garlic parmesean on top, but got a bit of a dusting instead. The Garlic Buffalo wings were definitely more flavorful and is the reason we might come back. The homemade chips were "kinda okay" (quoting the hubby). Wedges were yummy.

You have to come here, nice beach feeling even in mid of town, best of the best Ck fried in the town , price is cheap local people love it. Try chicken tender , single combo and don't miss the wing , family love tcome here A LOT.......!

A little piece of Hawaii on the Oregon coast. A must stop if your in the area. Shave ice uses the Matsumoto syrup, so good!

Excellent hot wings and bbq wings. Chicken sandwich was huge and amazing. Chili dog was really good. Fantastic cheese burger. Tasty food. Its a small resteraunt. Its a little deceptive when you pull up but don't leave or you will miss out.

Newport isn't a very well-lit town. In fact, I'm not even sure if the size of its indigenous population would consider it a "town". The closest useable airport is 2-3 hours away. There's no actual FedEx office. The sea lions generate more ambient noise then the car traffic. And what traffic? The most dangerous road hazards are the hitchhikers and the drifters on the shoulder with their horses. These wasn't the best chicken wings that I've ever had, but given the area, they're great. The prices are good. The staff is friendly. The food is made to order, so call in, if you don't wanna wait around. I would highly rate and recommend. I would go here again. I would, in a heart beat, trade this place for a more logical airport setup.

Deliciously satisfying wings at a great price. Wonderful find coming into town after a stop at Yaquina Head. We had traditional and boneless wings with medium Buffalo sauce and they were spot on and served piping hot. The shave ice was tempting, but we passed due to the 60 degree temperature and steady 15 mph breeze--next time.

Stopped at the bank and saw the "Hawaiian Shave Ice" sign and decided to stop in with our boys for a treat. Grabbed some food too and everything was terrific. Family running the restaurant is wonderful! We've found a new favorite stop when we're in Newport!

Me and my good friend Nicki G. went to this place this past weekend, and it was great! We got 50 chicken wings combined and the goal to eat all of them. As we attempted, the service was excellent, and brought us all the drinks we needed to keep up with the constant wing insertions. I had a great time eating with Nicki, we laughed so hard, I coughed up a whole half a wing right out of my stoma. All in all 4 stars for the place.

Excellent chicken! Perfectly cooked and the potato wedges melt in your mouth. I had the Beaver sauce (go Beavs) and it was really tasty. Super affordable. I will definitely be back again.

Right off the bat, I'm going to say this : Newport, keep these folks in business! In the time that we have lived here, the spot they are in has struggled to keep a business in and thriving. If we lose this restaurant because of lack of business we deserve to be stuck without good options for variety. Now that the rant is done, on to the rave. My goodness, what awesome food. Chicken is one of those things that seems like it would be so easy to do, yet so many places mess up. The nice people at Flip'n Chick'n managed to make my single combo (boneless wings with lemon pepper and Duck sauce) one of the best meals I have had in recent memory. The chicken was tender and flavorful, not at all dry. The sauces (my choices as well as the Beaver and sweet chili sauces my husband tried) were all seriously tasty, and each tasted like it was a unique sauce, not just a variation on one main theme. The chips were warm and fresh, and the coleslaw was refreshing, not gooey and cloying like so many places serve. Most amazingly, not one thing seemed greasy. I have no idea how they manage that. Prices are more than reasonable, the food is wonderful, and the service is friendly. The restaurant itself was clean and bright, with enough room for a decent group to sit in, and they welcome take-out as well. I am really hoping to enjoy some shave-ice next time, I definitely left no room on this trip. Luckily, I plan to do my part to try to keep Flip'n Chick'n here and happy. Hope to see you there too!

Saw the great reviews and decided to give Flipn Chicken a try. Friendly staff helped us decide amongst all the interesting sauce choices for the wings. I had the garden salad with three boneless teriyaki wings, my partner ordered five Parmesan-garlic bone in wings (he actually got six) with the homemade chips. Excellent quality, fresh and delicious, and I have to mention that the garden salad was mixed field greens with celery, tomatoes and carrots - really exceeded my expectations. We'll be back next time we're in Newport!

Was a little skeptical, but once you try it, you realize you have a gem. Some of the best wings on the coast and it was priced just right. They have great portions and great shaved ice as well. Definitely coming back!

When locals referred to the place, they called the place "crack chicken" for how addicting it is! And I get it! Chicken was good- tried the honey mustard and medium BBQ sauces. Wedges were also good. Took a little bit for food to be ready- but I had time.

Great wings for a decent price, especially in the coast. I definitely recommend the garlic Parmesan wings and their buffalo wings are in point as well. Overall, awesome joint and they do takeout so you can destroy your wings In the privacy of your home.

This place is a gem. The chicken is tender and delicious (have tried with buffalo and sweet chili sauce - buffalo is my fave). The jalapeno poppers and onion rings are top notch. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. I visited here with my boyfriend and we came back the next day as neither of us could stop thinking about the delicious meal and wanted a repeat experience (and we were not disappointed). They also have shaved ice (beware - the large is made for sharing!) and it is AMAZING. Reasonably priced and a plethora of flavor options, you will love their shaved ice. I am dreaming about it as I type this.

Awesome chicken! We tried a family combo with mild buffalo, beaver (sweet bbq), and garlic Parmesan. Even our picky 5 year old loved everything. Would recommend to anyone.
