You know, maybe it's because I'm spoiled but I just wasn't all that impressed with this place. What was great: 1. The service: wow, seriously friendly people. Super helpful, too. What didn't impress me: 1. The food. I mean, it's just not FANTASTIC. It's good, solid, totally eatable, but it's not something I would wait in line for (which we did).

Loved our breakfast here! The biscuits and gravy were really good. The sausage they use is spicy. The Quiche my husband ordered was amazing. It was super thick with a fantastic flaky crust. Would definitely come here again

We first discovered Café Stephanie about five years ago and it has been a must stop ever since. Herself and I are both fans of their crustless quiches. Always an excellent choice. Every breakfast comes with one of their delightful scones. Their coffee is excellent. They know how to make a perfect cappuccino, not too wet, and not too dry. Herself is fond of their mochas. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.Café Stephanie, a great place to start your Newport adventure.

Surprisingly great food despite their identity crisis...diner? Cafe? There's table service and you'll be treated to lovely homemade scones right out of something hot! I got a cappuccino (dry and decent), French toast that's made with real French baguette and a side of sausages. My guy got pancakes and bacon. The food was, in general, great quality. The downer is the open and hectic kitchen. Maybe there's been a recent upswing and they're learning how to accommodate all the yelpers but it was unappealing for our experience.

Fresh and multiple flavors of quiche, amazing coffee, quick service make this place a top go-to for breakfast in Nye Beach.

Small quaint cafe with friendly service in a quiet beach side town. Pet friendly boardwalk with patio seating. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Quiche, potato tornado, pancakes, granola, breakfast burrito all yummy. Blackberry lemonade was also a nice treat. Hot fresh scones served while you wait for your meal was the icing on the cake for us. We will definitely make it a point to stop again when we pass thru this town.

This was my Mother's Day weekend treat and dinning alfresco at Stephanie's Café was memorable. All our breakfast arrived quickly. Sitting in the sunshine, holding a coffee cup in both hands and chatting with other visitors in this little corner of our Universe was so pleasant. The next time we come back to Newport, Stephanie's is on The Top of our List. Wonderful Wait staff, friendly and excellent FRESH clean foods, flavors. Their scones sent us over the top ! Should have bought a couple of them for Tea later in the day ! We are so fussy and picky about our Restaurant experiences, only The Best get 5 stars from us. Stephanie's Café deserves all the stars in this little corner of our Universe !

Had an excellent quiche this morning, fast but not eggy, and great coffee. Hubby enjoyed his pancakes. Service was good, so was the price.

The club sandwich is one of the best things I've ever eaten. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. A must go!

Have had breakfast here twice. Fabulous coffee! First time I had the waffle with seasonal fresh fruit. Very good. The second time, I had the daily special: polenta cakes with 2 eggs (how you wanted them) spinach and a dash of hot sauce. Yummy! Will be back here again.

Cheap fake maple syrup and attitude. Stay away and go to any of the nicer places in town. There are many choices...why accept this mediocrity?

Tried this out because it showed up as gluten-free friendly on Yelp. It was busy, but our waiter was great - kept my husband's coffee full. The crustless quiche would have been a good gluten-free option, however it was full of cheese, which wasn't listed on the menu. Needing dairy-free also, I decided upon the spinach salad - no parm cheese and no bread. It was delicious! The curry vinaigrette was awesome! My husband enjoyed his blackberry crepes, thickly sliced bacon, and the blueberry scone. Seating was cozy, the decor charming, service was fast, prices were ok, maybe a tad high. We will visit again.

We needed somewhere for breakfast around 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. on a weekday. We tried Panini down the street, but they had limited bakery items by that time. We went to Stephanie in hopes of finding family-friendly breakfast. We were seated right away, but the restaurant is small, the kitchen is right out in the open, and there is nothing to reduce the sounds of the kitchen, the dirty dishes being washed, and the people trying to talk over the music playing. I found that the scones were really dry and crumbled when I tried to cut them in half. The coffee was really weak - you could look through the liquid to the bottom of the cup. I had to add two shots of espresso to get it up to snuff. The waitress was friendly, but only put in one order for kids' pancakes, so we had to wait extra for our 4 year old to be fed. That's never a good idea. I'd might try again, but I'd also try to find something else first.

We discovered this great breakfast place a few years ago and now seem to make it a regular part of our Newport vacations. We love the coffee (espresso), scones, any breakfast, and friendly staff. The French toast is good, quiches are good, cinnamon rolls are good. You may have to wait. This year we got some sandwiches to go. Will have to let you know about those later.

Damn good breakfast prepared by a staff that actually seems to care about the product that they give to the public. Finest breakfast I've had in a while. Plus, we got free scones with our order. Really good scones. Another bonus: the best iced tea I've ever had. I will be back whenever I'm in town.

We stay in Nye Beach once a year and eat here daily. We love this place for breakfast and/or lunch. Friendly staff, good food, good salmon chowder

Went on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Service was exceptional, food was good though not extraordinary. We sat at a small table inside, where there's about 6 tables and window bar seating for 4. The inside is a little cramped, and the decor is a quaint. They also have 4-5 tables outside. They serve both their full breakfast and lunch menu 7:30 - 3:00. We ordered the sausage quiche, salmon fish tacos, and half french dip with a cup of salmon chowder. The quiche is apparently heated in the microwave, which basically flattens it into the shape of a slice of pizza. it was a little overly cheesy, and the crust was soggy. 2 stars The salmon fish tacos were excellent, with big chunks of salmon and tasty slaw and mango salsa. 5 stars The french dip was pretty good, a thick stack of roast beef and a slice of provolone on a milano hoagie. The au jus was more viscous than usual, and a little more salty. 4 stars The chowder was decent, could have used a little more salmon, but had a decent base. 3.5 stars Overall, good service, prompt and the food came out fast. One of the servers was playing peekaboo with our 2yo son, which was cute. Looked like a family business, and everyone was very friendly. Will have to go again for breakfast some time.

Went to Cafe Stephanie while on a road-trip through Newport. Was not impressed with the service there. The staff seemed like they had much better things to do than put on a smile. They were just indifferent and ignored you to the best of their ability. Almost like they were too trendy to bother with anyone not up to par. However, the coffee and cinnamon rolls were delicious. CAUTION: If you don't like a ton of frosting, don't get the cinnamon roll. It's loaded. Yummy. 3 stars for the service 4 stars for the food Probably would choose a different place next time. Or maybe get food and coffee to-go.

Breakfast was really good. We shared a quiche (sausage, sun-dried tomato and spinach), an order of bacon and an order of fried potatoes. Our coffees each came with blueberry scones. The quiches are all crustless. Nice to save the calories and the carbs. Our quiche was nice and soft, albeit a bit much cheese that gave it a stretchy texture. Still tasted great. The bacon was 4 generous thick slices, fried perfectly. The potatoes were cubed and pan fried and topped with grilled onion and red bell pepper. Quite nice. Coffee was plentiful, though it cools off fast as the cups are very wide at the top. Scones were soft and tasty. Not overly sweet. We'd eat here again and maybe try an omelette.

Yum! We were just plain hungry and Cafe Stephanie was close to where we parked. We walked in and saw cinnamon rolls - not typical lunch fare but we ordered one anyway. We also ordered fish tacos one each of salmon and ahi. They were only a corn tortilla away fom being perfect. (served in flour tortillas) we also enjoyed carrot ginger soup. The food exceeded our expectations. The cinnamon roll? Excellent while warm, so-so after it cooled. We'll go back next time we drive through.

The last time I went to Newport I really wanted to go somewhere different for lunch. Honestly, I was just tired of the same old tourist traps that EVERYONE goes to all the time. So in desperate need of guidance, I turned to Yelp for inspiration. A quick search brought me to Cafe Stephanie. It was in a part of town that I had never been to, despite many visits to Newport over the past 20+ years. With all the positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. I was not to be disappointed! The place is small, but if you go during the off-season it's not hard to get a table fairly quickly. The cafe itself is very cute. And there is ever a limited amount of outside seating, weather permitting. The servers were very friendly and the food was very good. I've tried something different every time, and it's always been fresh and fast. We always go for lunch, so I can't comment on breakfast. But lunch is worth the wait. Plus, there are so many cute little shops and things in this part of town. Very much worth the trip.

Very friendly service! Foodwise, I think they might have just been having an off day - but nothing we ordered was quite right, and my Cobb salad was all wrong: tired greens, incinerated bacon, past-its-prime avocado (and not much of it). I know several people who LOVE this place so I'll try it again sometime, and hope to give a better review next time.

This place is a family favorite for their simple, very tasty breakfasts and lunches. Scones are perfect, loved every quiche I've had there and the salads are fresh. They make very good espresso drinks as well. We end up at the counter quite a bit, as the space fills up quickly. Wanted to give them a shout out for offering to work with one in our party's particular diet. We sadly did not end up eating there this time, but only because I was out-voted. Just a nod to the great service we always get here. Thanks!

Nice little place next to the beach on Newport, OR. Stepped in while stopping for breakfast during our road trip on US 101. You get free scones with breakfast! I am a picky non-select-egg dishes(omelette, scrambled, etc) vegetarian, so breakfast is always tricky for me. But they had nice pancakes (it's hard to go wrong with them). My friends were able to customize their breakfast and there was also quiches which looked interesting. The wait staff was super friendly, and it was just a plain relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend this for a nice bite when in Newport.

This is a crazy popular cafe where the wait staff are filled with bounce and energy and the food is made in foodie heaven -- or somewhere quite close. The home made hash with poached eggs was perfect. I missed the opportunity of photographing my plate because the hash looked a little dark and charred on delivery -- but it was actually perfectly browned and once I had those custardy eggs running I couldn't stop myself from eating. Definitely a place to go for breakfast.

First off, I'll say, I don't write reviews, I hate them, but Cafe Stephanie deserves one!! Stopped in Cafe Stephanie on the 4th of July for brunch with my family. Even though they were very busy we were able to get a table right away, sitting outside. It was a beautiful day in Newport, so why not. The waitress' were obviously busy, but very nice and attentive. The drink glass was barely empty before the refill came. I do not like scones, but the scones that come with breakfast were outstanding. I'm a "normal" tipper but our waitress deserved the 20%+ that I gave her. If you're in Newport stop in and grab something to eat at Cafe Stephanie. PS: my only complaint. It's over two hours from my home, otherwise we'd come every weekend.

Cafe Stephanie is a great find. My husband had their quiche special (cheddar, sausage, jalapeños, and cilantro) and said it was the best he's ever had. I agreed and ate half of his. They are fluffy and crustless and savory and delicious. I'd try to eat a whole one. I had their crepes. Delicious as well and though my husband liked them (and took half of my plate as payment for the quiche) he thought we had better crepes. However, I liked them enough to recommend them if someone were to ask. They are good! That quiche though... Get quiche. Another note: delicious coffee and super accommodating staff, and friendly patrons. A couple gave us their seat because it was packed and we had a baby with us (thank you); the couple next to us were nice; and the everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff are friendly, clean, and fast! So fast! Plus, you get scones with a breakfast entree. Huckleberry was today's I think. They came out warm and with butter, but you don't need the butter. They are perfect. I wish I knew how to make them so good. I wanted to give 5 stars, but the only thing holding me back were the crepes were a little too crispy and I got jabbed once or twice with a crispy bit. Other than that, absolutely wonderful. We will definitely come back if we're in Newport and you should try it if you're there!

We stopped into Cafe Stephanie on recommendation from friends. The food was great, the waffle had a hint of cinnamon and wasn't too sugary which I enjoyed. My husband ordered the corned beef hash and raved about it for hours. The only thing I wasn't in love with was the size of the restaurant. It's quaint, but it felt crowded. The service was quick and friendly and the food was great. We'll be returning next time we're in town.

Went for breakfast. It was OK. The regular breakfast burrito that I got was filling, but a bit on the bland side. I ordered mine with the sausage and it tasted a bit old. My girlfriends burrito, which was the combo with sausage and vegetables was nearly inedible with the amount of green beans on it. Now, I personally wouldn't put green beans on a burrito, but that is just me...and most other sane individuals. Overall it was not terrible, just a bit disappointing.

Well we of course picked this place because it had a good review in Yelp. Plus we didn't know where else to go. Anyways Cafe Stephanie is located in the historic district of Newport, OR. The interior of the cafe is nice. Nothing really to get all that excited about. The owner of the cafe hung up some reviews of the restaurant from local papers on the wall. The wall was obviously painted with a sponge, which added a bit of playfulness to the cafe. My girlfriend had the fish tacos. She decided to get one with tuna it and another with salmon. I definitely liked the tuna more. The cooks simply seared the tuna on the outside, leaving it raw on the inside. The taco also had mango, cabbage, etc. The tuna taco was delicious. Everything just belnded wonderfully. Usually the fish in the tacos are over cooked, but not this time. The salmon taco was good as well, but I don't think it stood up to the tuna. The salmon was thoroughly cooked, unlike the tuna. I had the chicken sandwich. The sandwich obviously had pieces of grill chicken, but it also included a pepper aioli sauce, lettuce, tomato, pepperjack cheese. And it came with a bag of chips. The sandwich was very good. The aioli sauce added just a small hint of heat to the sandwich. The chicken was moist and tender. The only part about the sandwich is that once I bit into it, the chicken just fell out. Good sandwich otherwise. Overall it was a good experience at Cafe Stephanie. The place was crowded when we went, which is a good testament to their food. I would absolutely go back to Cafe Steaphanie is I'm in town again.

I have a pet peeve about fish tacos on cold flour tortillas. The innards could be the best on the planet - and Stephanie's fish and slaw are pretty darn amazing - but if the container is a dense wall of chilly, simple starch then you are doomed to be disappointed. Both the salmon and tuna were excellent. Just open the flat bread and use a fork. Salads and other sandwiches were very good, and were served on proper bread products.

  • Christine B.

Tucked away and cozy, this was a real treat! I recommend the salmon chowder, and any of a number of inventive sandwiches on amazing French rolls! Fresh ingredients and service that makes you feel like a member of the family have made me a fan of this Nye Beach gem!

This is a fun little hole in the wall that has great breakfast food. The menu is limited so that is why it isn't five stars. Certainly worth trying if you want a quality lite breakfast.

  • He And She I.

Menu reads "oatmeal with peaches and ice cream" (She did pass on the ice cream). Nuff said? Incredibly fast service, cute little cafe, free fresh hot scones with breakfast entree. They offer something called a "potato tornado" topped with sour cream, on which we passed. Thin sliced sourdough toast, good service. A nice way to end our Vancouver stay.

Wow! Was I ever so incredibly disappointed and turned off by my experience at Cafe Stephanie. The subpar, flavorless food seemed to be more warmed than cooked. I quickly realized why when I noticed they were heating everything in a microwave. Microwaved eggs, potatoes, etc are, in a word, gross. Not only that, but the service was distracted and self-involved: bringing us our bill so busy laughing amongst themselves that they dropped it off in a fit of laughter without so much as a thank you. To top it all off: for a breakfast burrito, a side of eggs, side of potatoes, side of sausage, a cup of tea and a chai our bill came to over $22. I have gladly paid this for breakfast at a decent restaurant, but to pay this kind of price for microwaved food is outrageous. Please do not waste your money on a place that obvious does not care about what or who they serve.

Good lord. When I go out for food, I expect it to be cooked - especially my breakfast. We arrived at Cafe Stephanie during the breakfast rush, which meant we took the only available seats next to the door - a fact for which I was later grateful, as it meant we could beat a hasty retreat instead of having to crawl through noisy tables and bawling children to get to the door. I was looking for a simple breakfast - eggs, potatoes and sausage, which meant I hit the side orders and paid more than I have in a while for such a basic meal. The meal was up quickly - too quickly, as it arrived lukewarm, greasy and undercooked. My first bite of sausage came away with a mouthful of unchewable gristle, and went downhill from there. Although I had specified no cheese on my potatoes, they were still drenched in it, and soggy besides - which is a mean feat for red potatoes. Altogether, I ate a little less than half my meal, as it was altogether unappetizing. On the way out, I took a closer look at the tiny kitchen area - which has a grilling station and something like half a dozen microwaves. No wonder my breakfast came out with the taste and charm of a styrofoam cup - it had been microwaved and then briefly browned on the grill! I've had a better breakfast at Denny's and for half the price. Don't waste your money - go to a greasy spoon instead.

Great breakfast at the coast near Nye beach. nice location. portions a bit small for what we paid. I had two buttermilk pancakes and could have use 2 more for a real portion. solid food and coffee though....

I went there on the weekend and it was simply wonderful. I had the vanilla cinniamon french toast and it was delicious. I would highly recommend going there and the waitresses there are very attentive to you. I would love to go back there someday. (and their scones are really good)

Stopped here for breakfast on our way up the coast, based on reviews the "co-pilot" found on his phone. Coffee was decent, and we all enjoyed the piping-hot scones (we drew three cranberry-orange ones, and one blueberry scone). The hot cocoa was straight, weak Swiss Miss, so zero points for making their own cocoa. Most of us ordered blueberry pancakes; one of us ordered the Potato Tornado, which he said was pretty good. The blueberry pancakes were two six-inch plain pancakes with a spoonful of blueberry compote between them, which was all right. The blueberry compote wasn't cloyingly sweet, which served in its favor. But no blueberry syrup or compote was served to dress the pancakes; we got single-serving pitchers of maple-flavored syrup, and I don't think it was real maple syrup. Artificial maple syrup is just not a forgivable offense for a boutique coffee shop in a trendy, touristy neighborhood. And I'm sorry, but two six-inch pancakes? That's IT? I might expect a mere two pancakes if I'd ordered a *side* of pancakes, but if I'm ordering pancakes as an entree, dammit, I want at least double that.

This right here solidifies why i LOVE yelp. I was visited for the week and as we were approaching newport, i hopped on yelp to find a cute little bfast spot. I stumbled upon cafe stephanie and its great reviews and couldn't pass this place up! Adorable little place. yes LITTLE! awesome outdoor seating and great service! The banana bread french toast was to.die.for! It was topped with powdered sugar and peacans (YUM). Great quishes and scones WOW! The breakfast burrito was great and the fresh juice was the perfect drink to wash all the yumminess down. GO HERE, i repeat STOP in for bfast! it's a must- my fav spot along the entire coast!

Popped in for breakfast before we hit the road back home. Scones were provided while we waiting for our food. They were on the hard side. Also got some zucchini bread; a little over-spiced. We shared the french toast with chicken sausage and a fruit bowl. Sausage was great, but the french toast was very underwhelming. No complaints about the fruit.

Very busy little cafe, we sat outside for lunch. The mocha's and cappuccinos were very, very good. The tuna fish tacos with mango salsa was excellent! My husband isn't a big fish fan, but he ate my second taco and loved it! He had the pesto chicken sandwich, and it was very tasty. Nice staff, great food and coffee, we will be back!

Stopped in for breakfast this morning; great that they had Allan Brothers Phoenix & Turtle blend. The quiche was beautiful, but had almost no flavor. No salt, no pepper, nothing to counterpoint the chard or highlight the earthy nature its mushrooms suggested. The cranberry scone that came with said quiche, was excellent. Bursts of orange and tart moist cranberry, notes of butter and cinnamon with just a hint of salt. I'll definitely give the cafe a second try, but I'll let the beautiful quiche lie.

One of our favorite breakfast spots in Newport and a must on any trip to the coast with my family. It's small (very small!) and very cute inside. Perfect atmosphere for a light breakfast on vacation. You get tasty scones for free which pair well with their variety of coffee and espresso drinks (they'll make you an iced coffee which means everything to this iced coffee junky! Haha) The food is tasty, however the portions are small. When on vacation, we have a habit of eating many times throughout the day so perhaps a light breakfast isn't the worst thing. All in all, we love this place. It fills up fast, so expect at least a short wait (longer in the on season.) Definitely worth a try for a pleasant and tasty meal!

Had lunch here yesterday and the veggie sandwich was delightful. Came back for breakfast this morning and it was even better. The wait staff is courteous and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Highly recommended as in an oasis of calm on a hectic day. I want to move in!

Salmon chowder by far is one of the best I've ever had, of any chowder. Service was excellent & everyone is funny & nice. Great coffee. We loved how small & intimate it is. I had the French dip. It was great. Husband had the salmon BLT. He loved it. We will come back. The people make this place!

My wife and I were going to go to La Maison Cafe on the way out of town at the end of our vacation. Unfortunately they were closed for a catering event so I hopped on Yelp again and found Cafe Stephanie, a cafe we had seen the day before...and we are so glad we did. It is a nice, cozy cafe, very good atmosphere, the waitress who helped us was extremely friendly and the food was quick, tasty, and a good price. Will definitely be going back next time we are in town.

I couldn't think of a better evening. The service was impeccable, the food was perfect, and the atmosphere wonderful. We orders the clams and linguisa as an appetizer. Beet salads, scallops, and lasagna for dinner. The eclair for dessert. This place is a gem. You can't go wrong here. It was our 17th anniversary and I couldn't have picked a better place.

Saturday I went to Cafe Stephanie for the first time. I had heard good things about it from everyone I knew and saw it had a pretty positive Yelp! rating. So I decided to take my granddaughter Meridith for an afternoon brunch. The place felt homey and we sat at the bar-like seating looking out the window. I ordered the Cory's Special and Meredith got some scones. The food was wonderful, the sandwich was full and a little hard to eat, but tasted great! The only complaint I had was the stupid, curly headed dishwasher that kept making eyes at my granddaughter. Poor Merideth. I was about to go up and give that skinny neck a proper tongue lashing, but my catheter started leaking and we had to leave. Overall 4 stars for the food.

Checked with my favorite critic when looking for a place to eat while travelling. Didn't disappoint. Salmon chowder ROCKED! Right proportion of salmon to potatoes. Not too strong. Light on the palate. Club sandwich was heaven on foccacia! Warm, creamy, tasty. Not your hash house club! Wife had shrimp quiche. Rich, shrimpy, creamy egg pie! Not a huge slice. But, with salmon chowder was just right. Small, intimate, fast, great service! ACOME IN AND TRY!

Service - 4 stars. Food review only for roasted veggie hot sandwich - 3 stars and veggie lentil soup - 4 stars. We were greeted with a friendly hello when we walked in. We sat down and grabbed the menu on the table. We ordered a veggie lentil soup and 2 roasted veggie hot sandwiches. We liked the veggie lentil soup. It had mushroom, zucchini, red bell pepper, broccoli, and lentil. It was like a classic lentil soup morphed with a garden vegetable soup. And with the mushrooms, you won't miss meat with this soup. The sandwiches came with a bag of Lays potato chips and a pickle. The sandwiches were generous sizes with tomato, asparagus, cheese, leafy greens, red onion and a garden spread on two thick slices of grilled focaccia bread. It was tasty and filling. However we would have preferred more veggies and thinner bread - personal preference. Otherwise we were very happy with the staff's friendly demeanor and quick service. We would like to come back some time to try out their non-vegetarian fare.

Cute setting. Good cinnamon rolls. Okay coffee I ordered the breakfast burrito with 'roasted veggies' and the veggies were raw making the burrito a little bland. My boyfriend got the quiche and loved it. Maybe I just ordered wrong?

Ended up here due to a detour on the Main Street but glad j did... Had amazing quiche served with fresh and baked goods to go that appear handmade and were great. fruitand the waffles covered with fruit looked great too! Greeted by owner who poured my Allan bros coffee for me and I are outside.Totally recommend.

Great place for breakfast. Service was excellent and the coffee and breakfast were outstanding. Definitely a locals spot during the off season. I had the special this morning which was scrambled eggs w sausage, mushrooms, and swiss. With my coffee received a complimentary fresh baked blueberry scone which was quite tasty. I would absolutely return to this place next time I pass thru this town.

Food was good, service questionable. Locals are treated better than visitors. Interior seating is very limited and tight. Breakfast offerings are limited.

Amazing free blueberry scones. Not your average take on breakfast. Will come back soon

Oh -- I love this place. After a full morning of taking care of details and such, I stopped here based on positive Yelp reviews -- and what a lovely find! First, the little white dog was just as tired and worn-out as I was from the day's doings -- and when I spotted a big dish of water next to Cafe Stephanie's outdoor tables, I knew we had a winner. The little Lhasa got to make friends with a big golden retriever named Molly -- easily 3 times his size -- and after considerable jockying for position around the water bowl, they were fast friends. Our waiter brought both pups a puppy biscuit dipped in something dog-heavenish, and everybody walking up and down the sidewalk of the Nye Beach area stopped to talk to us about the dog's taste in hoodie sweaters, and cute haircuts.... Obviously -- the best part of Cafe Stephanie is the food. Their soup of the day was gazpacho -- normally one of my favorites -- but I was too much in the mood for something to bite into and chew chew chew... so I passed on both the gazpacho and their house specialty soup -- a smoked salmon chowder which sounds heavenly.... They also do a smoked salmon BLT that sounded wonderful -- I'm guessing I'll have lots of time to sample these choices. But today -- I thoroughly enjoyed an iced lemonade in the cool breeze, then was delighted by my French Dip sandwich. The dip was thick and rich -- more gravy than typical broth -- and the sandwich was piled high with roast beef and a nice slab of cheese on a french roll. Pickle & chips -- and voila! Perfect, filling, piping hot mid-afternoon lunch! In the end, little Lhasa was too excited by the pedestrians and other canine tourists to even eat his little treat (Molly enjoyed it, though!) But he loved all the attention from our waiter -- always a good sign. I'll be back -- with pup, and husband!

Awesome for brunch. I ordered crêpes with a side of eggs and a side of toast. Crêpes came with a cranberry scone which was the first good scone I've ever had. The scone was fresh, served a little warm full of flavor and not a dried out rock like scones I've had previously. I also ordered a decaf coffee which was very tasty. The eggs came sunnyside up as ordered and the sourdough toast was perfectly toasted and buttered generously, just as I like it. The crêpes were very rich. Filled with a creamy sauce as well as blackberries and blackberry sauce. Definitely capped my meal off right. My wife ordered a French dip sandwich that she enjoyed. It was a little unusual in that the prime rib was cut pretty thick, but still tasty and the au jus was excellent as well. Prices were very reasonable for the fare. All in all, definitely a great brunch spot if you are ever near Nye Beach on the Oregon Coast

I don't understand the amazing reviews this place receives. Service was average and the food was way less than average. With amateur French toast and inedible sausages and bland, greasy corned beef hash, despite the beef itself being good. Perhaps we chose a bad day? The coffee is from an automated machine.

Very nice little place, they bring out blueberry scones, and I normally don't like scones, too bready... but these were tasty! The potato tornado was delicious!

Tiny little cafe with very limited seating in the historic Nye Beach district in Newport OR. Very small, trendy, artsy fartsy shopping/dining area, and parking on those narrow little streets can be very challenging. That being said, I was investigating my new 'home town' and found myself at Cafe Stephanie. It was early afternoon, and I had the quiche. Average portion size, good flavor, but the one's I make at home are better. (Maybe they should hire me?) Came with a little sack of potato chips. [For some reason, that surprised me] Friendly enough staff...prices seemed in line with the experience, would eat there again if I happened to be in the neighborhood.

Ah, Yelp. We chose Cafe Stephanie based on yelp reviews and while it is a cute place with cheerful staff, the food was disappointing. We arrived at noonish and opted for breakfast: a breakfast burrito and the eggs and potato tornado. The free blueberry scone appetizer, with a generous dose of berries, was buttery and delicious but wasn't enough to elevate my rating to 3 stars. The burrito was average, served with a dollop of salsa made from canned tomatoes and nothing else. No seasoning to speak of. The potato tornado had nice flavor but clearly had been prepared hours ago and warmed up. Soggy potatoes with microwaved cheese on top, served luke warm, with two over easy eggs with undercooked whites. I have a hard time with egg whites that jiggle. And alas, our waitress didn't ask us how our meal was until she returned with the check. I know its a small place and I could have motioned her over but that's not the point. I would like to give this place a second chance but life's short and there's lots of competition.

Ugh, yelp failed us on this one. It got such high ratings so we thought we'd try it for breakfast. The breakfast burrito was just awful. The so-called roasted veggies were practically raw asparagus and bell pepper, totally unappetizing. Take that and some cold eggs and wrap a cold tortilla around it and you have the worst breakfast burrito ever made. At least warm up the tortilla! So bad. C'mon, it's simple really.

This place was adorable! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the decor was as cute as a button and the food and coffee was fantastic! They even gave us free fresh baked scones to start off with! Yum! I will definitely return here the next time I am in newport! Thank you for everything!

We were in town this weekend for a mini vacation. Café Stephanie was so good we ate there twice. Flavorful made from scratch food. The service was top-notch. to give you an example, we thought about trying a different restaurant the second day, we got up and left at two other restaurants because of poor service, both were rated just as high on yelp. Recommend!!!

I ate lunch here today, and was completely disappointed. I ordered the fish tacos thinking that I might get some fresh seafood considering we were twelve feet from the ocean, but I was very wrong. The tacos were cold, in cold flavorless flour tortillas, and the fish was dry and tasteless. My boyfriend ordered the quiche and was equally disappointed. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because the man helping us was genuinely pleasant, but the good was awful. I have no problem paying for satisfying meals, but I was absolutely begrudgingly angry to hand over twenty five dollars for the crap we were given. If you do choose to come here do yourself a favor and just drink the coffee.

My boyfriend and I stopped at Cafe Stephanie during a roadtrip of the Oregon coast. My boyfriend got the oatmeal with peaches and Ice cream and I got the eggs with The potato tornado. Yum! Service was great, complimentary scones were a nice surprise, and the food was excellent! What more could you ask for?! If we ever pass through the beautiful Oregon Coast again, we will definitely be stopping by.

My only regret is that I only enjoyed one meal here during my three days in Newport. Breakfast comes with free scones, which won me over right away. Their perfect Americanos and delicious vanilla bean French toast then sealed the deal. My husband had a scramble and loved it. And on a warm day, you can have your meal on the sidewalk, which is just what everyone wants to do during a trip to the beach. We received some mediocre food and service during our stay in Newport (and our standards are honestly not that high) so Cafe Stephanie was a breath of fresh air.

Super nice servers. Set up table for 8 on memorial weekend. Handled well. Great scones. Loves cinnamon rolls and breakfast burrito ( smaller than we anticipated). But still yummy. Fruit on side was only 2 pieces. Waffle great for kids. Ate here 2 times on our trip.

Definitely one of my most favorite places in all of Lincoln county! And a place not to be missed when coming to newport. The service is always friendly and the food never disappoints! Everything is so fantastic the only hard thing about coming here is picking what to order! My favorites include the grilled veggie and rajun Cajun. Always a winner!!

We stumbled upon this place while on vacation. It was around 11am and our toddler wanted pancakes. I wanted lunch. This place had great little plates for kids and ours had chocolate chip pancakes. It also had fantastic lunch food. I had the special which was a meatball sandwich made with fresh, homemade meatballs and marinara on a toasted roll with provolone. My wife had some of the best French Toast she's ever had. The service was great. The high chairs were clean (less common than I realized before becoming a parent). And the tab for all three of us was around $22.00.

I'll tell you a tale...it's pretty moody and romantic... I ran away to the Oregon Coast for a weekend to unplug and in the pouring rain in the little oceanside town of Newport lives the Cafe Stephanie. As I walked in the drenching rain in the early morning with a book and journal (No laptop... gasp!) it appeared on a foggy side street.... wait, not fog, sweet smelling steam, like clean laundry, pouring out of a unmarked industrial linen supply building... delighted I peered in the windows and found a cozy mini heaven. I tucked myself into a cozy corner, and set my rain soaked layers aside. The place was filled with locals, the staff calling everyone by name. I definitely felt them sum me up... their eyes looking for an umbrella (The sign of the Great Pacific North West Tourist) and when they found none, I received small smiles and was then ignored... except for the excellent service, perfect espresso, and filling breakfast. I was left in peace to ponder, write with a pen for gods sake, and read several chapters with no interruption. One must mention the small scone that comes free of charge with your coffee, how nice. I could have spent my whole get away there... if I'd only brought more books. I doubt it's as calm and soothing in the summer with the tourism, but in the dreary pouring gray off season? Lovely.

I got the breakfast burrito and my girlfriend got the potato tornado. Both were really bad. The ground beef style sausage and eggs were nearly flavorless. The salsa was basically just big chunks of pickled tomatoes. They don't close either end of the burrito so if you cut or pick it up it falls apart. My gf's meal was not good either. Potatoes in some kind of average sauce. The coffee was really weak. The scone was good. I don't think they had WiFi there either which is strange to me. Service was good. Bottom line is we'll never go there again and we're not super picky.

Adorable, dog-friendly cafe. A server came out to clean a table as soon as I showed up and since I was alone and had my pup, I couldn't order inside, but it didn't matter. All I wanted was some pancakes and they were delicious and hit the spot. Coffee was great and while I normally am not a fan of scones, I gobbled the one in front of me up, it was delicious! Great little beach snack breakfast spot. Was in and out in about 30 minutes!

The food was decent and well priced, but the service is mostly what I downgraded the rating for. From the moment that I ordered apple juice as my beverage, I was getting dirty looks from my waitress. I'm not sure why apple juice is unacceptable to order for breakfast, but clearly she did not approve. The scones were the best part of this experience because they were yummy and really much better than the breakfast that I ordered. Next time I'm in town I'll be sure to find a different place to have breakfast.

I have come here for lunch a few times during my stays in Newport. The sandwiches are always interesting and always delicious. I often come here for lunch by myself when I don't want to eat at the hospital. The location is small enough that eating alone doesn't seem so lonely :) The only thing I wish about this place was that it had Wifi so I could come and do work in the morning over coffee and breakfast.

Delicious house coffee is only a dollar! We have only tried the brownie with cream cheese frosting, not any other food, but based on that amazing brownie I'm ninety-nine percent sure everything here is delicious. The prices aren't bad and the people who work here are so incredibly nice. This is our go-to coffee shop in Newport!

Great location on Nye Beach in Newport and always packed, Stephanie's has what you need for a good start. Good (not great) hot coffee, fast service with a smile and a hearty breakfast. Things I wouldn't change - the staff is great, really friendly. The scrambled egg plate and scones were excellent. The wheat toast was hearty and warm. Room for improvement - the crapes were greasy and overwhelmed by a berry sauce.

My friends and I stopped here for brunch after a long weekend of celebrating my birthday, and we were pleasantly surprised by our whim of a choice. This place is adorable, the owner was very friendly and although the place was full we were seated quickly and served quickly. Our waitress was very polite, the COMPLIMENTARY scones were delicious! I ordered the Vanilla french toast and was surprised when the pieces of toast were small and round, like they were cut from a baguette, but the bread was SO so soft and delicious, I drizzled honey on it all and went to breakfast heaven. The apple sausage links were super tasty, and all in all I felt this place was a great choice. Not too much food, but the price was right on point for how much was served so it wasn't too expensive. I was comfortably full when I was done instead of feeling overstuffed and needing someone to roll me out the door which is what always happens when I go to "regular" breakfast joints like Pig n' Pancake. A+, I will definitely be going back the next time I visit Newport.

Cafe Stephanie has become my go-to place for breakfast or lunch. They are always busy but you can always get a table, right away or after a few minutes. The young guy and gal who run it work so hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. You will never sit waiting to get someone's attention! The menu consists of breakfast dishes, hot and cold sandwiches and salads. There's something to suit everyone's tastes. I like the paninis and that they always do something a little different. The Club, for example, uses turkey and brie with a dijon sauce on grilled panini bread. Really yummy. The coffee is hot and strong. The salads are big and fresh and I love their breakfast burrito! When the weather is nice, there are several outdoor seats as well.

The service was impeccable, the staff welcoming and helpful. We were delighted by the free scones before our meal; by the time the food was out we were already smitten. I had the vegetable quiche and tried some of my friend's vanilla french toast, both were delicious. My only qualm was that the prepackaged jam and jelly were high in corn syrup. Some natural jam would be a great addition.

Maybe I am just spoiled by portland restaurants but the food here was just okay, barely. The service was good. Very friendly. I ordered the eggs and potato tornado. I don't know why at all it's called a tornado. It was supposed to have onions and red peppers and I had literally one tiny slice of red pepper and 0 onion. It was just cubed breakfast potatoes with cheese and sour cream. They did taste good. Not a huge portion. Scrambled eggs and toast were normal. Side of fruit was half a slice of orange and a quarter slice of pineapple. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito with veggies. The main veggie in there was asparagus which was in their special that day. Okay but odd choice for a breakfast burrito. Again the only side was the two small pieces of fruit. The French toast looked good. Menu had limited choices and after we sat down the table next to us ordered and a woman asked for an omelette (not on the menu) they were very accommodating and she just ordered whatever ingredients she wanted in it. It was nice of them but honestly a little off putting. I didn't know I could just make up a breakfast order. Hers sounded and looked way better than both of ours and if it were on the menu I would have ordered it! Will probably not try them again. although nothing was really too wrong, nothing was great either

Food was a bit bland. Had a bowl of smoked salmon chowder, and the ahi fish tacos. I had to add salt to both dishes (something I never do). The chowder was great after that. The tacos were still rather lackluster. A bit dry, and still lacking flavor. I don't think I will be back for lunch again, but I would try Cafe Stephanie for breakfast. That seems to be their strong point.

What can I say that hasn't been said? I go strictly for their crust-less quiche. They're absolutely amazing. My favorites are the jalapeño cheese and sun-dried tomato sausage. Their coffee is also wonderful and never disappoints.

The place was busy, but the service was friendly and fast. Fresh squeezed OJ, eggs and potato tornado hit the spot for breakfast. Everything was delicious, but especially loved the warm blueberry scones starter that came with the order at no extra charge. Homey place with cute decor and my favorite coffee cups ever. I'd hang out longer except for wanting to give the other hungry patrons my table.

Awesome service! Very welcoming. We left the Cafe Nye down the road waiting for someone to finish cleaning our table. She was starting to clean it as we sat but didn't come back to wipe or get the creamer cups and tip. Nothing caught our eye on the menu so we left and I am glad we did! We ordered quiche and a breakfast burrito and were brought complimentary scones that were awesome! I ordered more to take with us.

The reviews were helpful for us to decide on Cafe Stephanie during our Newport visit. We were impressed with the ambiance, service, and food!! Both of us were pleased with our selections and tasted back and forth: breakfast burrito ("mixed" of both sausage and veggie) and the egg scramble with potato tornado. To top it off, complimentary fresh scones were served while we waited! Our server, Jackie, showed just the right amount of friendliness and professionalism. We are fans and will return next time we come to Newport!

I usually stop at this sidewalk cafe in the Summer for a quick bite or to meet someone for coffee, usually passing it by for breakfast. This morning I chose their breakfast scramble and it was wonderful. So was the fresh baked scone. I'll have to drop by more often.

My parents ate there for breakfast since it is one of their favorite breakfast stops on the coast. My dad was happy but my mom was disappointed this time. She said that the serving of quiche was small and there were only two small slices of fruit. That is not a sufficient side of fruit.

  • Judy D.

Headed back to Stephanie's 2nd time this week. Again we were not disappointed! Great mocha and cappuccino. I had the homemade buttermilk waffle and my husband had the sandwich special. Both excellent. You really can't seem to go wrong with their sandwich of the day! Only reason this review is 4 instead of 5 is if you are going to serve really great waffles and pancakes, please serve maple syrup, not Mrs Butterworth's. And they serve Lays chips with sandwiches. Once again, these sandwiches deserve Kettle or Cape Cod quality chips. Other than those two suggestions, we loved Stephanie's.

This is a simple cafe with minimal seating, good prices, and reasonably-sized portions. They have a really good selection of breakfast and lunch food, everything from french toast to quiche to salmon sandwiches. The service was prompt and the food was yummy. It was rather crowded and full of children, but overall, it was a positive experience.

This place gives you free home made scones just for sitting down! We were on a road trip when we ended up having to spend the night in Newport, OR and the next morning we happened upon this little breakfast nook and luckily so! The french toast was very good and the bread stood up to the batter. The mixed veggie and meat breakfast burrito was interestingly delicious. I've never seen asparagus in a burrito before but it works spectacularly. The staff was very friendly and made sure both our coffee cups never ran dry. Definitely will return to this place if we ever find ourselves in Newport, OR again in time for breakfast.

I have been meaning to write this review forever. My family and I were there in November visiting my in laws. I LOVE THE FOOD. I have been thinking about it lately and wish I was going to visit the in-laws sooner :o) It is a fun place to eat and the staff was amazing. We had our three very rowdy children and they were so welcoming to us. I will come back every time I am in Newport.

We went here for breakfast. It was decent but not great. I'm surprised it has 4 1/2 stars. The free scones are a nice touch and they were good. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered scrambled eggs and the potato tornado. The scrambled eggs were over cooked so they were dry. The description of the potato tornado far exceeded the real thing. It was basically a pile of cubed potatoes with a touch of onion & peppers (I mean a touch, not 100% sure they were there), melted cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Not impressed. After we ordered I overheard someone say that their cinnamon rolls were great, so maybe try those if you're going.

A tiny little cafe nestled in Newport. Absolutely delicious food and service. Waitstaff were wonderful! Had quiche special with sausage, green chilis, and cheddar - absolutely delicious!! Husband had breakfast burrito, and devoured it. Mother had vanilla French toast and said it was delicious. This is a hidden gem, and I will definitely be back.

This is our favorite breakfast place in Newport. Their quiches are famous in town. My favorite is their daily breakfast special which generally includes some home made apple sausage. My wife loves their Eggs Benedict. The juice is always fresh, they have good espresso, and always greet us with a smile. On sunny days in the Summer, be prepared to wait a bit but it's always worth it.

A very nice place, with limited seating. When I was there (around 10 AM on a Sunday morning), there were a few open tables and quite an inviting-looking menu. We had (vanilla) yogurt and fresh strawberries, and I had about a gallon of coffee to drink. Everything was good, and we even got complimentary, oven-fresh-and-still-warm scones. If I lived in Nye Beach, I would probably go there often for breakfast, and I'll bet they have free wireless, too (although I don't know for sure).

We ate breakfast (only) at Café Stephanie. Our favorite thing about this place was the scones that come with the meal and the friendly service. I never would have just ordered scones off the menu because we're not that into pastries. But every breakfast comes with scones. A nice perk. They were delicious and they have yummy strawberry jam on the table to go with them. Love that jam. We ordered: Eggs and Tornado Potatoes, a Breakfast Burrito, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and a Mocha Latte and a Cappuccino. BTW, I thought I was going to order quiche, but the owner (I assume she was the owner) mentioned that none of her quiches are made with crust. "Hmmm," I thought. "Then why not just make it a scramble?" I would suggest offering a few quiches with crust. Some of us have no issues with crust. It's delicious. The breakfast burrito was a pretty basic burrito. My husband had the sausage with his rather than the grilled veggies. FYI, there are no potatoes in the burrito or on the side. If you want them, order them as a side (which we looked at but decided the price was ridiculous for potatoes... you can buy a 5 lb. bag for less than they charge you for a side of them). The salsa on top seemed to be fresh--possibly homemade, but not sure. He was too hungry to ask. He was satisfied. I missed taking a bite, though! The eggs and tornado potatoes: I ordered poached eggs and I was very happy with them. Cooked perfectly. As for the potatoes; I don't know what I was expecting exactly... but the term "tornado" potatoes seemed to conjure up something bigger in my mind than what came to me. I think the potatoes had a few onions and a wee bit of chopped red peppers. There was melted cheese on top and a heaping pile of sour cream. It was good, but I wouldn't order them again. The eggs were delicious and I devoured them with my whole wheat toast. Yay for the eggs. Also, bonus points for each breakfast coming with fresh fruit. That is awesome! Our coffees were quite good but they were delivered to us at a temperature that would have been suitable for my two year old son (who loved his chocolate chip pancakes, btw). Before we left, I had to have my coffee reheated in the microwave. I feel a bit like a Debbie Downer so I have to save the best for last: Staff was awesome! Super friendly, happy, joking with the patrons and quite chipper for 7:30 on a Sunday morning. Five stars for service! That's a big deal! Also, they have dog water outside. That's another bonus, even though we don't have a dog yet. We will return again... maybe for lunch next time. I would be glad to upgrade my stars to FOUR or even FIVE if our next visit impresses us.

This place is so adorable, and not to mention the best little place we stumbled upon in Newport! (and on our 4 day oregon coast vacation) The customer service was wonderful, the entire staff was amazing and attentive! and the fresh blueberry scones were the best I'd had in a long time! And so cheap!! I had the vanilla cinnamon french toast and my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito, we ended up stealing bites from each other, both were so good!

Late breakfast, quick service, really good coffee. Free scone a bit underwhelming, kind of flat, think it had cornmeal and was orange/cranberry. Split a breakfast burrito with partner, they split it on a plate which was nice, good salsa that came with as well. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for lunch and loved it-- super cute interior, sort of a shabby-chic feel; it definitely has a hipster vibe but is not pretentious at all. I had the Moo sandwich and loved it. I am always searching for a great sammy and this place served up the real deal. Nothing fancy, just good fresh ingredients which is all you really need. My kids had PB&J and a hot dog and both were pleased as punch. My honey had the eggs and potatoes breakfast and thought it was delish as well and also loved the coffee. The staff was friendly and quick. Our only regret is not snatching up one of those huge cinnamon buns on our way out. Can't wait to come back on our next visit to Newport.

Perhaps one of the best sandwiches we've had (which is saying a lot because we search out sandwich places everywhere we go. The other yelp reviewers are grading this place too harsh. It's a cute little shop with great service and amazing food. How can it not be 5 stars?

We have been here for breakfast and lunch, and impressed with both. Great sandwiches for a vegetarian/vegan. Our son even loved his turkey sandwich on wheat, and he's a tough cookie when it comes to eating. The friendly and attentive staff was a pleasure as well. We heard a man commenting on his way out that it was the best quiche he's ever had. I'll try that next time!!

Despite reading some if the other not so wonderful reviews, my husband and I decided to go ahead and order breakfast delivered to our room at Nye beach Inn. Delivery was less than fifteen minutes from order and food was wonderful. He had the tornado potatoes with eggs over medium, side of bacon and toast. I had the crepes, and ate one of the complimentary scones. The crepes had a hint of zest and the berries were yummy! We wanted to post a review since we enjoyed the food and hope this local business will thrive !

This was my fiance and I's first time to Newport. We were heading out of town and decided to eat here based on it's reviews and we were not disappointed. We both had breakfast burritos and they were amazing. The atmosphere is great and the staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Newport!

Delicious breakfast and fantastic service! After being told at La Maison at 10:20am that they wouldn't be able to seat us before noon because they were "too busy" (that is an hour and 40 minutes people, and the place wasn't even full). We headed to Cafe Stephanie. So glad we did! Everything was so delicious that the next morning we drove from our Lincoln City rental back down to Newport so that we could eat here again! I have had a few scones in my life - never liked them, but Cafe Stephanie's? Delicious!

Ewww.. The food is horrible here! The quiche was chewy , the french toast was cold. I paid 7.95 for a piece of quiche w/ about 6 pc of ok fruit. Will not be coming back.

The service and staff were wonderful! The two people that waited on our table were very nice and answered a multitude of questions, from ingredients in the food to prospects for the Yankees in 2013 and beyond . Ordered one of their quiches...good temperature and good ingredients, but didn't taste great and I wasn't a fan of the consistency. Note/Tip: People named "Stephanie" DO NOT eat for free!

Cool little local joint. Small and not a lot of seating but interesting. Ordered a French Dip with fruit and a lemonade. The service was fast and friendly. Well, the food was pretty good but could have been better. The au jus was tasty but the sandwich was overcooked big time. It was served quickly and was hot so points for that certainly. A great deal price-wise so if you want a reasonable lunch go check it out.

Walked in, picked the cinnamon roll with the most icing and left to devour. Space is pretty small, but staff is friendly. Wish they had loose leaf bagged tea instead of Celestial Seasonings that I could just pick up at the store. Hands down, BEST cinnamon roll I've ever had. Can't really rate any of the other food or drinks, may stop by again before I head home.

Gotta love a cafe that serves hot homemade scones to your table while you wait for your food. The service here is always super fast and attentive. I can't remember ever waiting more than 10 minutes at the very most for my food, and the quality is fantastic. Last time I was there our server was a super-cute girl who was handling the whole room like a pro, and the cafe was full. Nice work... I'll be back!

This used to be a favorite of mine as a teenager. It's not quite as good as I remember now, I mean, the food is about the same, but I guess my tastes have changed. Food : The sandwiches are good, not great, kind of mediocre. The sandwiches are a little small to me, but do come with chips. Breakfast items also come with scones to start you off. They're a little dry, but still tasty and something to look forward to when you dine. The quiche IS a definite treat though. Absolutely love it, and be sure to check out the special board for a daily quiche. Yum! Only downside is the portion is a little smaller, but it might just be that I always want more because it's so scrumptious. They also have a few baked goods. I haven't checked lately, but I recall one of the biggest brownies I ever got was from here! Environment : A little tight if it's busy with all the tables inside packed in close. I personally love sitting outside if possible though. Not too fancy, but definitely kept up. Service : Not bad service, but nothing terribly memorable. I did have a favorite server for a while, but she left.

WINNER....but that 1 dollar sign for the price range indicator needs to be 2 on this website. Only because 2 flapjacks, although very tasty, was $8. Service was outstanding and the place is in a off the beaten path location, so you're not waiting around the corner for a seat. Get some pastries when you leave too...they're off the hook amigos.

We stumbled on to a coastal treasure. Stopping by for a late breakfast the place was filled with local folks enjoying the good food, great company & service. The quiche to was wonderful , no crust to distract from the flavor of the eggs & cheese texture wonderful. Pleasantly surprised to have probably the best scones ever included with breakfast almost enjoyable experience. Love to get the recipe for both the quiche & scones when we can't get to the coast

What a great spot to grab a quick lunch! This was right around the corner from our beach rental and we stopped in for lunch before driving to some beautiful scenic view or something. Boyfriend had an amazingly inventive ham panini with some crazy mango curry salsa and I had a classic french dip. The au jus was a bit more like gravy than traditional au jus, but was still really tasty. A wonderful bargain for the price with a really friendly staff!

I think Café Stephanie is a little overrated. Sure their fish tacos are great but breakfast is just, "OK" at best. If you're looking for a great breakfast in the area try Arr Place. It's just outside of Nye Beach south of the Newport Performing Arts center and west Montessori school. Keep a good eye out as it sits off the road just a bit. They have fresh ingredients and some of the best omelets I've had. Sure it takes awhile to get in and they sometimes have strange hours but it's worth checking out.

We found Cafe Stephanie two years ago when our favorite lunch place (Arr Place) was closed. We were so happy with our lunch (value, quality, service) that we decided to try it again during our family vacation this week. This became our daily coffee/breakfast location during the three day stay. Employees were friendly, coffee (allann brothers) was great, almond/blueberry muffins were tasty and worth the $2 each. Outdoor seating made for a nice early morning start of the day and they even had water bowl for our German Shepard.

Loved it. Great food and pleasant people. Contrary to a couple of reviews here, I think they are worth a visit for brunch. Cafe Stephanie is a tad different but I liked it.

My fiance and I went here for breakfast on a recent trip to Newport. I thought that there were good things and not-so-good things about this place. For the good things, the service was great and everyone was really friendly. The food also came out very quickly which is nice when you're hungry. The food itself was OK, but not great. The worst part about the experience was my latte. It wasn't terrible, but I expect a lot more out of a place that calls itself a cafe and has a whole espresso drink menu. It was very diluted and had almost no foam. I know this may sound like nitpicking to some people, but for those of us who really love coffee it's kind of a big deal. The restaurant is also very small so if you're looking for a quiet intimate breakfast, this is not the place. They do turn over the tables pretty quickly though so even if there is a line, you probably wouldn't have to wait too long. Overall I probably would go there again since they have something on the menu for everyone, but I would go somewhere else for the latte!

I had a coffee with Yogurt and Granola here. The staff is very friendly and the food was delicious. Coffee is very reasonable at $1.00 per cup and the granola tasted like it was home made. I glanced at every one else's dishes and they looked fantastic.

We were just leaving Newport when we happened to swing past the local library and I did a fast check on Yelp for a nice breakfast/coffee stop. Cafe Stephanie did not disappoint! While very small and without much seating, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and our orders came within just a few minutes of ordering. Free scones and jam served as we waited for our order. My husband was more than happy with is Tuna BLT (cooked nearly raw like sushi). My kids had wonderful pancakes with chocolate chips and I myself ordered a breakfast burrito (photo included). The best part was the coffee. I was wishing I had brought along a thermos so I could take more with me for my drive. I will hit this place for sure a few times on my next visit to the Oregon Coast.

The food was good, and the servers were friendly and attentive. It's not anything amazing, really (The food is pretty standard cafe fare, and I'm pretty sure the lemonade was the powdered kind...) but it's good, and it's served in a good atmosphere. Had breakfast and lunch here, and will most likely go back next time I'm in Newport. One more thing: I have to recommend the waffle. They use an old-school waffle iron, not the stupid Belgian ones the use everywhere else. It was served with strawberries and whipped cream, and was delicious.

Excellent! We were starving for a good breakfast and found this tiny stop due to Yelp. The complimentary hot scones were a welcome surprise and the crustless quiche was outstanding. I highly recommend this place for pure goodness! Thanks!

A great place to grab a breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. We had a group of eight and were seated right away on a Sunday morning. The warm scones served gratis are delightful. Perfect if you've waited an hour too long to eat breakfast. We had cranberry or blueberry. Everyone liked their food and coffee or tea. I had a breakfast burrito that was just the right size to be filling without being stuffed. It was tasty and hit the spot. Next time I'm in Newport, I'd stop in again.

I like this place and I would eat here again. The sidewalk seating is fun and the food was good. I had the blackberry romanoff crepes - soooooo good. And the omelets are also very decent with fresh veggies. Coffee drinks were also very nice, as was the service.

So good. I have been to Newport numerous times and this was my first time at Cafe Stephanie...not my last! I ordered the waffle topped with seasonal fruit. Delish!! The waffle was thin, so you didn't feel like you ate a bowling ball afterwards. Cafe Stephanie has a very comfortable feel. It is very casual, and the atmosphere makes you feel relaxed. and at home...

This is a real gem in Newport! We were looking for a local spot for lunch before we went crabbing. We knew the weekend would provide us with lots of seafood, so we were looking for a place that would provide us with a regular lunch with sandwiches, soups and salads. We couldn't have asked for more with Cafe Stephanie! The dining room was small, but the quality staff kept things moving (but not in an annoying way). I enjoyed the soup/salad combo . You get to choose any of their full size salads as your side salad (nice just a small salad with nothing on it. I really liked the spinach salad with the curry vinaigrette. Their house seafood chowder was also yummy. The hubby enjoyed one of their signature sandwiches. I liked that their menu had options, but wasn't overly expansive. This tells me the cafe really knows what they are good at and doesn't try to be anything they are not. The breakfast also looked amazing (we will be back for that). Prices were very affordable. The Cafe is located in Nye Beach, which is a super cute area of Newport. Great beach access with cute stores and not so much cheesy tourist stuff.

Friendly service, solid food, fair prices, and a cute atmosphere with a few outdoor tables for when it's nice out. We went for a late lunch, and though the place closes at 3PM, the young staff accepted patrons until almost 4PM. There was quite the rush at closing time, and I would have been anxious to head home and cranky in their position (especially at that age...I was not a patient teenager), but they were friendly and efficient. I don't recommend the French Dip--I've had much better ones elsewhere. But the salads were fresh and tasty, and the BF's turkey (or was it chicken?) sandwich was great. The baked goods smelled amazing, too.

We've just finished breakfast at Cafe Stephanie and it was a delight. We had the quiche of the day (bacon, basil and asparagus) and the French toast with breakfast sausage. The French toast are hand cut French bread slices perfectly grilled & topped with cinnamon and powder sugar. And the quiche baked to perfection, you can taste each of the ingredients. The service was quick and friendly. The shop is small but cozy, with sidewalk sitting. We will be back when we are in Newport again.

Terrific food at a good price. Nice outdoor seating, patient service. It can get full quickly, so don't get too bent out of shape if you have to wait a little bit for a table. We had breakfast, but the lunch menu looks awesome. (In fact, we might stop back on the way out of town for some sandwiches for the road.) I was delighted to see that the blueberry pancakes were of manageable size. I'm sick of going to places where they put so much food in front of you that you're instantly defeated. The blueberries were so fresh -- it was like I'd never had them before. Amazing scones, too. Yum.

The best zucchini bread I've had in years! This is the real deal and reminded me of my grandparents, so warm and comforting. The spices were a beautiful combination that permeated the air upon arrival. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the potatoes with the peppers were outstanding! I'm sad I couldn't try more of their glorious eats. It's a tiny place but packs big flavor and very quick and friendly service. A must for me each time I'm in town. Super affordable!

Walked in around 11am for breakfast as the place was jammed packed. No worries, we grabbed 2 seats at the countertop area overlooking the street. The service was sub-par. I know from experience that serving breakfast can suck, but considering the tables turn per fast and usually people undertip, one would think a server would be nice. Ours was obviously in a hurry and couldn't wait to get us in and out. We had homemade blueberry scones thrown at us that was just OK. We both ordered the mixed breakfast burrito with sausage and veggies topped with homemade salsa. The breakfast burrito was OK, I have had better. The salsa did not come in a ramekin, but instead slathered all over the burrito which resulted in a soggy tortilla. The coffees were good but we were never offered water. The utensils that we were given to eat with we're both dirty. Would maybe just stick with a to-go coffee of I ever came back.

My girlfriend and I stopped here on our bike tour and lived this spot. The servers we very attentive and fast. They were also very flexible, they let us switch seats so that I could charge my phone. They brought out complimentary scones, which was a delicious surprise. The breakfast I ordered came quick and was great. The coffee we ordered along with it was fresh and hit the spot. Over all this was a great spot and can't wait for another excuse to visit Newport and get food here again.

I consider this place "upscale diner", if that makes sense. I have always had good food, and have had breakfast and lunch here. The prices are reasonable, and the service has been good on my 2 visits. Their hours and quality of food are very dependable which, frankly, makes them stand out in the Nye Beach area. I try to visit every time I'm in Newport.

The finest (American) scone I've ever eaten - light, flaky, bursting with blueberries and hot from the oven. The finest quiche I've ever eaten; crustless - no worse for that - perfectly set, perfectly balanced in its flavours, Very friendly service - and accommodating of my toddler. Cheerful decor. If I say this is one of the finest breakfasts in the world, I expect no-one will believe me, although it is. On the positive side, the fact that no-one will believe me means that I should still get a table whenever I return. Which will be as often as possible.

Went here after walking around Nye Beach yesterday on a cold, windy Oregon Coast day. The onion soup was stellar, the veggie sandwhich was good (could've used more veggies), and my son enjoyed the turkey wrap. I tasted his salmon chowder which was good too, although he only took a few bites of it. Nice small and cozy diner atmosphere; even the Allman (sp?) coffee was good. I think it's known for breakfast, so if we ever get back to Nye I would check it out again.

A great spot for a casual breakfast in Newport's attractive and somewhat upscale Nye Beach neighborhood. Good espresso drinks and tasty breakfast burritos, served by friendly staff in a pleasant atmosphere, made for a great start to the last day of our vacation. Recommended!

We stopped by here on our way out of town and it was excellent. I'm not usually a fan of scones but their cranberry scone was delicious..so was the chocolate cappuchino muffin. The blackened yellowfin tuna sandwich was served rare. It was cooked perfectly and the aoili sauce complimented it perfect. We also had the chicken pesto sandwich and fish tacos. They too were cooked perfectly and had excellent flavor.

This little place is great! Really good coffee and espresso. They serve complimentary scones with breakfast which is a nice touch. I had crustless quiche with sausage, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes and it was the best quiche I've ever had. Absolutely fantastic!

My only regret about this restaurant is not finding it earlier! I came in for lunch on my last day in Newport, took a seat at the bar overlooking the street, and ordered the daily special and a cappuccino. Delicious. The menu boasts an impressive list of sandwiches, plus salads and quiche and coffee. I wish I could have eaten there for breakfast. Almost every person who entered was greeted by name, so it is obviously favored by the locals.

My husband and I ate at Cafe Stephanie's while on vacation and it's been a highlight! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and the staff are attentive with great recommendations. The food was fabulous - my husband had the salmon fish tacos with mango/papaya salsa that he raved about, I had a thin, crispy waffle with fresh strawberries, and we shared an artichoke, red pepper, feta and basil quiche that was a daily special. There were several other choices on the menu that we wanted to try so we'll definitely be back again. The Cafe is nestled in downtown Nye Beach surrounded by art galleries and gift shops and a block from the beach so we walked around after we ate and enjoyed some of the local attractions. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Great family place, I had the potato tornado? I think it was called. This place is poppin 24/7, but you can always find a place to sit. Also the scones they give you are soooo good yum.

Absolutely love the fish tacos here. It was grilled salmon when I tried it. Everybody else had breakfast items and seemed to enjoy them as well. Expect to wait a bit for a table given how small it is but it a nice spot. Updated on 4/27/2010: Just got back from another trip and had to raise my review to 5 stars. Love the grill salmon tacos, bakery items, and chocolate chip pancakes for the kids. I wish they could make it a little bigger as they only have 1 table that really fits my family of 5. They are only open until 3pm,
