I have never been more disgusted by the atmosphere of an establishment. This place is not safe for women. I was there with a group of girlfriends last weekend. We just wanted to dance around and have a good time. Within five minutes, we walked over to the bar and were called "fresh meat" by one of the patrons. My friend gave him a piece of her mind and the staff didn't even notice. We wandered over to the other side of the dance floor where we witnessed a very inebriated woman dancing with a man that gave me bad vibes. Shortly thereafter, I noticed his friend was filming them. I got the impression he was making a video with the intent to humiliate her and that makes me sick. There are so many dark corners of this place where something awful could happen; the bathrooms are far separated from the club area and I admit I didn't feel safe when I went in there. Also the laughable "VIP" area contains a few ugly couches and is very poorly lit; even for a club. I believe this place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. They need to step up their security so women can go and feel safe. I will NEVER go there again. Ladies, be aware of your surroundings because you cannot depend on the staff for your safety.

I would give 5 stars. Very nice people and drinks are not expensive. Dj was awesome. Played all the songs we wanted. There wasn't much people when we get there but it was so fun. I would defiantly come back.

My friends and I were in Newport this weekend for the seafood and wine fest. We were told on Friday and Saturday nights this was the place to go for good drinks and dancing. We did not purchase tickets ahead of time, instead we showed up around 9pm on Saturday and just got in line. The line seemed to move relatively fast until we got to the front of the line, then we waited about an hour and also had to fight off a large group of belligerent people who tried to take cuts and play it off like they had been there the whole time. I don't mean to sound like I am in grade school by complaining about "taking cuts"...but it's frustrating to wait patiently in line only to be cut in front of. Then there was another line full of people who had paid in advanced. I get that those people were let in before us, but they were taking advantage of this situation. They were leaving to go out to somke and then were able to go right up to the door to be let back in. This would not have been such a big deal if the establishment wasn't already at maximum capacity. If you leave, and you want back in, you should have to wait in line with everyone else regardless of whether or not your ticket is pre-paid. The fire Marshall showed up...so on and so forth. We were patient and finally got let in, but at that point we were not much in the mood for fun. The crowd was difficult to weed through, drinks were over priced (make sure you get your drink on before coming here...2 shots of Fireball was $14), the dance floor was way too crowded, it was filthy (but I think it would be hard to keep up with all the people). Maybe this bar is not always this crazy, it was a big event weekend, but I think that it should have been handled differently...you can bet that I probably won't return here again, and if I do I will be sure to get there at like 5pm and not leave at all!

Crystal B and Kirsten T, I would like to start out by saying I'm very sorry you had such a horrible time in our small coastal town. I remember your group very vividly. I was the bartender at Hoovers. I also remember most of the group being very intoxicated, except Crystal who was the DD. You were in town for our Celtic festival and to celebrate the wedding anniversary of two of the girls in the group. Most of you ladies said your are/were bartenders in Portland. I also remember listening to your description of your evening, both nights you came to Hoovers. As I recall the horrible description you gave about Apollos on yelp, you said happened at another local establishment and that you stopped into Apollos quickly and there wasn't enough people in there for you guys. Since it was so early in the evening I'm sure you missed the crowd. I also remember that when our friendly locals tried to be nice and offered to buy you ladies a drink they were met with snotty confrontational responses. I have spent many nights at Apollos dancing, I have watched the owner diligently making sure all her patrons are safe and having fun, spending hours patrolling the sidewalk and bar. There are 2 security guards on duty at all times who are professional and experienced in crowd control and ensuring a safe and fun evening. Apollos is the only bar in Newport that employees any security. The Highly trained and experienced bartender makes amazing cocktails and is also hyper diligent in running and maintaining a fun and fast service bar. The nightclub has numerous Portland and central Oregon DJ's who, as artists, have different and amazing styles. They are energetic and entertaining always putting on a fantastic show! As a fellow server and patron of Apollos I have NEVER felt unsafe or in danger. I've watched the staff go above and beyond to ensure the safety and fun of the customers, even paying for taxis. Apollos is by far one of the best nightclubs I've been in, and I'm from Reno NV!!!

The best place to dance on the Oregon Coast! Friendly staff, great DJs on the weekends, 2 levels, VIP section, pool tables. I highly recommend Apollos.

Great place to go out dancing. Great music, great bartenders and djs-fun crowd. VIP room available for parties. Staff is friendly, great local place to go out with your friends and dance or hang out and have some drinks. Have seafood and wine after festival parties every year, get your tickets early if you want to go and not stand in line. Don't leave or it's hard to get back in. Think festival crowd- a really wild time. Has a Latino night every Sunday with a band every other week.

Single women, bring mace. This "nightclub" was the single most disgusting place I have ever been to. We arrived hoping to find music and dancing but only found sexual predation and a staff that simply didn't give a crap. We watched, horrified, as some dirtbag pinned a drunk girl to a wall on the dance floor, held her hands down and then forceablly slammed his crotch into hers while his even BIGGER scumbag friend recorded the whole thing on his IPhone. The staff did nothing, security was too busy bussing empty drinks to notice and we got the heck out of there in a hurry. Unfortunately the woman who had been assaulted was too doped or drunk to realize what was going on. We tried to call her a cab or help her but she refused before blacking out. Yeah, the staff didn't do anything about that either. I will never ever in a million years go back to that place, nor will any of my friends. Sick rape culture behavior is acceptible here. Not somewhere you want to be seen if you value your self respect as a woman. Oh, and VIP? A bunch of filthy Goodwill sofas in a dark corner of the club where nobody will hear you scream.
