This is a hidden gem. I and my wife visited WIllamette Valley in search for the best Pinot in America last labor day. We decided to stay here because all the national chain hotels were full. We loved the place. The staff was very personable, attentively taking care of all our needs. The room is very cozy and well appointed, similar to a nice hotel. The breakfast was fabulous. We did not expect to get gourmet quality breakfast in this place. Agreed with the other review that the town of Newberg is not the most happening place on earth. We would have given this place 5 stars if it has better location.

Partner and I had a wine dinner and decided to try out the Lions Gate Inn instead of driving all the way back. This was an excellent choice! The minute we walked in we were greeted and shown around the Inn. It had a very warm and inviting feel to it. Afternoon snacks and wine were available. The room was very cosy and large. Seemed like everything we could ask for was there and available. Another pleasant surprise was the FULL breakfast. It was phenomenal and had several choices! We will definitely be back and staying there for the next wine dinner! Kudo to the Lions Gate for keeping customers happy!!!

We recently stayed here on our wine journey to the Valley. We networked into the Lion and glad we did. The renovation is top notch, really fantastic with great taste. We stayed in Summer and our shower was double sized with two separate shower heads! Breakfast was outstanding and the porch is perfect. They had wine and cheese for us in the late afternoon. They also gave us coupons to wineries, which we used at two places and saved $50. Nice touch on each count. The house manager is really personable. Wi-Fi was very strong to our room and we were able to watch a Netflix show on the iPad. Newberg is conveniently located just south of Portland in the northern mouth of the valley. It isn't much of a town, but we didn't care. We had our wine tastings and then dinner at Joel Palmer's. Nice way to cap off this part of our trip. The location of the Inn is suburban, near an elementary school, so know that fact. We are big fans, and you will be too if you cater to a top B/B.

We had an absolutely lovey stay in the Autumn room. Upon arrival, the hostess was very friendly and efficiently explained about the Inn and ammenities and gave us a quick tour. A lovely, local Pinot Noir and a cheese and fruit plate were ready for guests to help themselves to in the main dining room. The room was just wonderful. Roomy enough for two. Wonderfully decorated and so comfortable. The see-through fireplace between the bath and the bedroom was great. The large, two person soaking tub was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Breakfast was perfect, with a choice of delicious pancakes with fresh strawberries or a souffle style egg mix that was the perfect portion size. The Inn location was very convenient and we easily walked into Newberg for dinner. All in all, a 5 star experience and we would stay there again. The one and only complaint was that there is only the tub in the bathroom, no shower. The tub has a hand-held shower fixture, which works well enough, but if you are used to a regular shower, that wasn't available in the Autumn room. A minor inconvenience in our opinion.

We recently stayed here on our wine and foodie trip to Oregon. The big plusses were the breakfast, decor, house itself, staff, rooms, price. We stayed in the Autumn Room and had a fireplace and huge bathroom, complimentary tastings at neaby wineries. Conveniently located near the Dundee wine country! The only negative is that the town of Newberg isn't much, although we did find a fun bar, the Voodoo lounge.
