I love this place. They have delicious food. Their burgers are good. I ordered a sandwich another time, and it was superb. Their waffle fries are very tasty. Best of all? The custard! I'd never tasted custard before I tried this place.. Now I crave it all the time. If you come during winter, get the peppermint custard.

So far I've had the Sloppy Jac, Waffles Fries, and the cinnamon bread pudding deal with the vanilla custard. All were amazing! I also tried the Mac and Cheese, I think it had been sitting in the warmer for a while as it was rather dried out. BUT that won't stop me from going back at all.

Really boring and mediocre food, sandwich was all bread the small mac and cheese for $250 was slightly larger than a shot glass. The chicken tender was dry and tasteless. We didn't try the frozen custard. I would try someplace else if I were you. The only reason I give it two stars was the kids working there were very friendly.

I have been craving good Greek food for months and we finally had a chance to get out to Jac's after having read so many good things about it on Facebook. I was not even a little disappointed. Even my super picky hubby loved it too. He tries to be extra skeptical when he had heard about how great a place is online but their Gyro hit my Greek food craving. Loved it.

I really like this place! They've got a great atmosphere, and the food is very tasty! The best part, though, is the frozen custard! That is AMAZING!! Very fresh, and super delicious!

Delicious!!!! We had a bacon, egg & cheese burger and a gyro with a side of waffle fries & sauce! Hot, fresh, quality food! We will be back!

Came at the recommendation from a bartender at deception brewing, was not disappointed. Quality burger at a reasonable price.

Delicious! Everything is so fresh. We came here to treat the kids to some ice cream, and it was delicious (custard, but not sure of the difference). I watched people ordering food, and it looked so good I had to get in line. Had some yummy homemade mac and cheese, and excellent turkey noodle soup. The burgers, meats, cheeses and salad all looked delicious. If I'm ever in Newberg again, I'll definitely stop in here.

This is one of the best gluten free places I have ever been. The food is incredible! They don't even advertise the menu as gf to avoid scaring off gluten eaters, but almost everything is. It seems popular.

Been here on time before but that was just for frozen custard. I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich and a cup of chowder. The chowder was extremely creamy and I did get two occasions with some gritty/sandy clams. The cheesesteak was good and the cheese was melted and stringy goodness. They grilled their peppers and onions well. I wish the roll was more of the Philly-type crusty roll instead of a standard hoagie roll. Either way, it was still good. Please stop by here and get the Frozen Custards. They have some delicious combinations and toppings to create some awesome sundaes.

Got the cobb salad and added the truffle fries on the side (of course). Both were yummy. The service was super friendly and the place was very clean. The niece loves their custard and was very pleased as well.

This place is the best. Homemade food. Truffle fries. Fresh made frozen custard. Numerous delicious gluten free options. The staff are super friendly. Support this local business. You won't regret it!

Great food and custard! The burger is a runner-up for best in the county, and it is obvious why. Perfectly seasoned meat on an incredibly soft bun, with their secret sauce and your choice of toppings, it's about as good as a burger can get! The tomato soup is also fantastic, as is the macaroni and cheese. The waffle fries with truffle oil are quite incredible, and the chili cheese fries are good and a great value. And of course, the frozen custard. Made fresh every day in multiple flavors, from the standard sweet cream and chocolate, to a variety of other flavors available at different times, such as butter pecan, peanut butter, and maple bacon. It is rich and creamy, and never disappoints. There are a bounty of toppings to put on it, including homemade hot fudge, Reese's peanut butter cups, M&Ms, and local blackberry jam. You can also order shakes, smoothies, and "concretes," Jac's version of DQ's blizzard. Perhaps the best dessert, in my opinion, would be the bread pudding topped with sweet cream custard, caramel (also homemade), and whipped cream. Wow. Great staff, great food, and very customizable orders! If you really want something great, try the "Moriah" sandwich. Turkey, bacon, cream cheese, and cranberry sauce.

Good food but they are always understaffed and need to do a better job cleaning the tables, especially in the back room.

I drove by here everyday since they opened but never stopped in. Once I did, I will be coming to work my way through the menu. The gluten free mac and cheese is to die for! I had one of their deli sandwiches on GF bread with steak meat. It was great but next time I'll order it without the peppers as they should be chopped more finely and they bother my stomach. The custard is soooooo good. I had pumpkin flavor. The other people in my party were all raving about their food and the homemade soups. I wish that the GF foods were more clearly marked. When you hand me something, please say, "Here's the GF mac and cheese," so I don't have to ask. Thanks!

Great food, wonderful service, oh ya and FROZEN CUSTARD. This place is so fun and its great that the food is as good as the service and atmosphere.

I LOVE Jac's. Seriously though. My husband and I drove out from Wilsonville for a Jac's date yesterday. As always, I was pleased with the quality. The staff knows us, they're friendly people, and our food is always great and quick! The tomato soup is a little too rich, but their truffle fries are to die for. Definitely stop by on your way to the beach, they've recently updated their environment and now offer a larger dining room- very family friendly!
(4)Lance L.
Very high quality food at a great price. The burgers and fries are fantastic. The bun is about the best that I've ever had. The bread pudding with a scoop of their ice cream is about the best dessert you can buy. I don't even like bread pudding, but it is made with their homemade Carmel and it's amazing! I recommend this place to anyone.

I waited a bit after this restaurant opened in Newberg to let them iron out the wrinkles. Nine months later, it's a cute concept, great location, lots of potential, but it looks like they are clueless. I respect this family's effort and they seem like nice people, but this is not quality food, it's upscale carnival food, and, while the service is nice, they apparently don't know anything about running a restaurant. The staff can't answer questions about ingredients or preparations, and almost everything comes from Costco (and they haven't been very creative about it.) I gave it three stars because the frozen custard was excellent, but I took two stars away because the soup was supposed to be meatless and it had undercooked bacon in it.

This place keeps getting better. They now serve gyros - I believe they get the ingredients from a Greek place in Portland. The gyros are very good. They have also added seating which makes this place much more comfortable. The service is very good, and the custard is just amazing. The peanut butter custard I had today was possibly the best ice cream type desert I have ever had. This place gets a solid "Matty Likey"!

This was amazing! I have Celiac Disease (as does my sister) and we both ate at this place this week and were blown away by the food!!! The GF bun we had on the Chicken Sandwich was better than I have ever had. The Mac and Cheese was to die for and then to top it off we had this amazing ice cream that I hear is custard. I don't know what that even means but it was so delicious. The real test is how we feel after the meal...perfect, wonderful, couldn't have felt better. That says A LOT!!! Thank you. I only wish you were closer!!! Great Service too! I'm in love!

I was a little nervous when I walked into Jac's Deli because I've never consumed frozen custard. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Frozen custard is nothing like the flavorless gelatinous substance your mother used to force upon you when you were a kid (all I really wanted was one some cheap, store-bought chocolate pudding like my friends used to eat). It was scrumptious. The staff were a little green (I think it was opening day), so they struggled with the debit machine and there were about four employees for every customer in the store...but they meant well :-) I'll be back next time I'm in the 'Berg! This place has a nice feel, outdoor seating, oldies rock befitting the decór. All around, they're doing a good job.

I really like this place. It hasn't let me down yet....Truffle fries? hell yeah! Sweet cream milkshake? Try to stop me! My only criticism is that the bathroom sucks....and you tip before eating your food.
(4)Alison M.
I have been here a few times for custard only, most recently I treated my 4H kids. The service is fast and friendly. The food looks good, I just don't think to eat dinner here. The custard is great, and a unique product. The setup is super cute and has tons of seating.

I stopped here right after getting my double cartilage piercing from Bad Kitties. I thought, damn a strawberry milkshake sounds pretty good right now... I always drove past this place thinking it'd be pretty good so I decided to check it out. I paid close to $5 for a mediocre milkshake. It was medium too. It did taste pretty good, but sadly no better than one I could make at home. It actually had a little piece of plastic in it too! If you're looking for a milkshake, save your $5 and go across the street to naps & buy some ice cream.

We stopped here in lieu of going to Dairy Queen down the street and were happy we did. Custard is like frozen yogurt but is made with eggs too. It is very soft and tasty. The family who runs the business is very nice and aside from the custard the sandwiches sound very tasty too. They use fresh local bread. We will definately be back for lunch.

My review is only based on the turkey sandwich I had.... I expected really fresh, great ingredients, it is a Deli after all.... what I got was a soggy, soaked turkey sandwich on the most horrific bread I've ever tasted! I asked for the whole wheat bread, not a fan of white bread at all.... The lady said it was really great with seeds on it. Awesome I thought..... Not so awesome... it was a heavy, greasy, soggy mess. Not sure what happeend here. Bread should have layers of texture and fluffiness.. this was very dense and heavy and left a strange after taste in my mouth. And very greasy too. They did load the fixings on- turkey, cranberry, lettuce, etc... but a sandwich just aint a sandwich if you don't have the best bread to start with. For my 7 bucks... I will go to subway next itme, sorry guys- I was hoping this deli in my hood would be a hit!

My daughter and I love this place. We will venture out on a walk on the nice days to go get a sandwich and/or salad. Great customer service and live music in the warmer months on First Friday. Their side salad is wonderful with their balsamic vinagerette. I pair that with a half sandwich and I'm all set! Their dessert is pretty wonderful, too.

Great re-use of an old building, The atmosphere is really fun, the food was great. It was a good value for the price. If there were cups with ice for the beverages I would have given it 5 stars.

Mmmmmmmm!!! Try the frozen custard! You will love it.... The sandwiches are great, too. They emphasize real local ingredients, which is always nice since it means we can find the same fabulous ingredients they use. We had the Turkey & Cran, the Steak, and a couple of Grilled Cheeses. The Steak surprised us, there was SO much meat. It was beautifully sliced in nice thick sheets and perfectly cooked. The turkey was very well done, the cranberry sauce actually tasted like and resembled real cranberry sauce. Not the gelatinous mystery goo you get at other places. Of course the grilled cheese was pretty basic. I mean it is grilled cheese nothing fancy shmancy about that. BUT they do use a good amount of cheese; as in melty and gooey slices of Cheddar, and not the tiny half triangle yellow stuff other places say is cheese. And the frozen custard.... You have to try it. We got the coconut caramel (German Chocolate like) sundae, and the chocolate caramel topped chocolate custard. Mhmm! It was a delicious treat without being overly sweet. The texture was spot on, not to heavy and thick. Definitely a place to stop when in the Newberg area!!

Homemade gluten free waffle truffled fries and the best Mac and cheese on the planet. Need I say more?!
(5)Penny R.
Really cute old garage location. Creamy delicious custard and super generous. Didn't try anything else on the menu but they were baking bread pudding while we were there and it smelled delicious. The staff was so nice and attentive.

The Bradley rocks with ultra fresh ingredients, especially the custom baked roll. Besides how can you not like a sandwich that has bacon in it? It was difficult to decide on a dessert but the Turtle looked too good to pass up. Loved the pecans & chocolate sauce! Oh yeah, and the frozen custard was creamy instead of icy like some ice-creams can be. I need to come back to try their homemade soups and other offerings. Joe, Betsy & their kids make you feel like an extension of their family. It's always a party here!
(5)David G.
Absolutely Delicious!!! I had never had frozen custard before visiting Jac's. But now ice cream and frozen yogurt seem like poor substitutes for frozen custard. I have been back 5 times. Key Lime is my favorite so far, but all the flavors I have tried are wonderful. The owners are sincere, hard working, honest and generous. Sandwiches and other stuff are also great, especially the bread pudding. David G.

Great frozen custard and friendly service!

I absolutely loved this place when they first opened. Their sandwiches made me melt and the frozen custard was so yummy. The custard is still amazing. And I really enjoy the chowder on Fridays. But the sandwiches have paled. The beef sandwich used to be juicy, almost like it had an au jus, but now find myself wanting to add mayonnaise. Same for the turkey. Good thing is that their gluten free bread is really good.

Skip the ice cream and go out for custard! It is the most amazing thing I have tasted in a long time. Plus the shop has a laid back family feel that's really nice. The only food I've had there was the Mac and cheese, which was delicious and obviously homemade. I found out a lot of their food is family recipes. I've been there four times now and will keep coming! A great place to take kids since they get to choose their toppings. Wish I had've discovered Jac's earlier!

On a mini day excursion outside of Portland I found Jac's as I was passing through the cute town of Newberg. It looks like a retro gas station so I already liked that it had personality. Upon entering I noticed a board of specials that included a cup of creamy tomato soup for 2 bucks as well as a sloppy jac aka a sloppy joe for only 3 bucks. If I can walk in somewhere and right away like the specials on the board and they are cheap, I am sold. After looking at the regular menu I saw potato salad for I believe a 1.50 which I thought would just work perfectly with the sloppy joe. I forgot to mention they have frozen custard which was also delish for 1.85 for a dish, another steal. My whole meal came out to 8.10 which was pretty impressive for all of the food I got. My whole meal was amazing, I highly recommend the place for a great cheap meal.

The Bread Pudding with Sweet Cream Custard is soooo good! Delicious and rich! A great receipe! This family does a great job and it is always fun to get at treat at Jac's!
