I've said before, finding good places to eat in Medford can be a challenge. The really great places for breakfast are always packed and can be annoying to try and get a table at, especially when you're hungry! We decided to check out Witham Truck Stop Restaurant because the parking lot is usually pretty busy when we drive by, and Truck Stop's and diners often have good breakfast/comfort food. We stopped in late Saturday morning and sat ourselves. The place is old, but clean. The prices are pretty average for breakfast $8-$10. Most breakfasts come with a choice of hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, toast or fruit. They have the pretty typical breakfast fare, nothing too fancy. Pancakes, eggs, scrambles, skillets, etc. I ordered the country benedict which is a biscuit, sausage patty, scrambled eggs and country gravy with a side of hashbrowns. It was very good. It came out hot, the gravy was perfect and it wasn't such a huge portion as some places. It was just right. Chris ordered the California skillet which was home style potatoes, bacon, eggs topped cheese and guacamole, with a side of toast. His toast looked a little done to me, but he said everything was good and cleaned his plate. There was a lot of grape jelly and orange marmalade for jelly choices and not too much else, which is a minus in my book. We both had coffee and they brought us mugs and a thermal carafe full, so we didn't have to keep waiting for our mug to get filled, which is a big plus in my book. The waitress wasn't super friendly, but she was efficient and took care of us. I think if we were regulars she probably would be more friendly, because it just seems like that kind of place. We would definitely go back to Witham Truck Stop for a diner breakfast, but it probably isn't someplace we would take out of towners, just because of the overall ambiance of the truck stop. If you are comfortable with the truck stop vibe Witham's is a perfectly nice place to stop for a hot meal.

Remember this place as a kid, growing up in the Valley. It's still a decent place to stop, rest, get your highway grub on and basically get out and stretch your limbs, if you're out doing a 'road trip' along the I-5. The food here really hasn't changed all that much over the years. Portions are still pretty decent, the flavor isn't all that to write home about - due to the amount of different people and their various tastes...but it definitely does the job of filling your belly when out on the road towards your next destination. You DO still have to be careful out on the parking lot though, due to the amount of big-rig trucks coming and going. If you stray too far from the building/restaurant, you run the risk of getting your car smashed or run-over.

Discrimination and racism is alive and well at the Witham Truck Stop! Upon entering the diner a waitress sized us up and rudely told us that we needed to leave all of our bags outside. It was obvious that others inside were not asked to do this, so whether it was because two of us are Asian or because my 61 year old friend looks like a biker, we were treated differently than other restaurant patrons. We left and instead enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Chadwicks across the street!

Well yeah I hate giving bad reviews but I can't excuse bad service and bad food at a terrible price. I understand it is a truck stop, but yeah. I walk in with my wife and son. No sign to tell us to wait or seat ourselves. We wait and then just go ahead and seat ourselves... The menu was very difficult to understand. had the ask the waitress what it meant. She seemed bothered by the question. the food was lack luster. My wife's bacon was mostly fat and uneatable. the Sausage in my omelet was burnt. For 3 bucks we each got a 8oz juice. Which was bothersome because the juice that came with our son's kids breakfast was actually larger than ours and his entire meal was $3.99. I understand this is a truck stop and maybe if the price was lower I won;t complain so much. But it ended up costing us $30 for the 3 of us which was way to much for what we got and the poor quality of the food. Next time I want breakfast in Medford I will go to The Old Farm House. Nicer staff, much larger portions and quality of food, plus the three of us can get out of there for 25 bucks with tip. Will not be back... sorry... :(

Truck stop food that is okay if you don't have time to find a better place, and there are some on Biddle Rd. closer to downtown. The price is reasonable and the waitress was friendly and efficient enough. I had breakfast this visit and in the past have had other meals. For dinner, you might want to travel down Biddle to Elmers, Asian Grill, Sizzler or Applebees. (Marie Calendar recently burned down)

We have been eating at Witham for 17 years, the staff is always friendly, they have a good selection of food, priced right -breakfast, lunch and dinner. After going there for so long they kinda know what we like which is really nice when you walk in. We haven't had any bad food it's always been well cooked & always taste good. Very satisfied with staff and dining experience.

Ordered the French Dip with a blue cheese salad on the side. Neither was anything impressive. The the au jus needed salt. Overall, 8 bucks, for a small meal and slow service.
