nothing like a dirty mop smell when walking into this dump. I actually thought the lady next to me had body odor. The service was pathetic also. Lets clean the bar glasses before we serve the customers. Brilliant. Don't waste your money here.

I held a training dinner in the back private dining room. I chose this location because they did such a good job for us earlier in the year for a similar event. The private dining room in the back can be reserved for groups, meetings, etc. ASK FOR SEAN to wait on your group! He is the best! Fabulous service, offers to do anything you need, just the best! This time I ordered the Mixed Grill, which was skewered, grilled LARGE chunks of chicken and beef. They will grill the beef to order. I ate all of the meat and it was delicious. The platter also includes grilled peppers and onions, which go great with the meats. The Tuscan potatoes that accompany the dish are outstanding! Roasted, so flavorful. There is some type of glaze on the plate and it is wonderful with the meats and with the potatoes. So good, could use a little more! I will order the Mixed Grill again. THANK YOU, SEAN!

Only thing good about this place this last visit was the lemonata I turned into a non virgin beverage. Service was horrible for the sitting outside on the back patio..

I don't understand why everyone complains about the food here. If you're Web-savvy enough to have a Yelp account, then you're Web-savvy enough to be able to peruse the menu, options and calorie-count before you choose to eat there. It's not like the Olive Garden is a new restaurant that you've never heard of and feel compelled to try--it's the KMart of restaurants, and it's no surprise that the food is a caloric and chemical explosion of fat, cream, butter and oil. That's what they sell, and you knew that going into the restaurant...didn't you?

I've eaten at this Olive Garden several times before and had great service, but tonights' was the worst. After we received our food, we never saw our server again. Some other server came by and slipped the bill on the corner of the table without saying a word. We all wanted to order dessert, but no one ever came back to see if we needed anything or to settle our bill. After about 30 minutes of waiting for our server and getting dirty looks from other employees we left. Overall it felt like they wanted us out asap so they can sit another group. Don't think I want to go back to a place where the employees have better things to do then attend to you. If I wanted fast food I would have hit the drive through across the street.

Mediocre food and blasé interior, but what do you expect from a backwater location of a huge national chain? I'll tell you what - service. For the increased prices you'd at least hope to get decent service. Alas, your hopes will be dashed at this location. Our waitress disappeared for over 15 minutes while our food sat under the heat lamps. Finally, after getting the attention of a passing hostess to ask if she could help locate our waitress, a different wait person brought out our food. About 5 minutes later our waitress showed up and muttered a half-hearted apology then disappeared again until it was time to bring the check. This was not the first time this kind if thing has happened here but it darn sure will be the last - our family will never darken the doorway of this establishment again.

Our motorcycle club decided to have our annual Christmas dinner here. We phoned ahead twice to advise we were coming. We had a group of about 20. When calling we were told that while there were no reservations taken but that the wait would not be more than a half hour. We arrived at 5:00, and were finally seated at 6:45. Despite inquiries, and letting our displeasure with the long wait be known, time ground on and no offer to bring drinks or appetizers was made. After being seated, appetizers were comped (after we asked). Two of our group had to return meals that were Luke warm. They were replaced and comped when the bills came. Overall we just didn't get the feeling that there was much desire to please, and "policy" was much more important. Food was good when delivered hot. Servers tried. We likely won't be back as a group.

We waited 30 minutes for... nothing. After about 15 it became a joke. When I pleasantly look the server (Destiny) in the eyes and say: "so let's be honest... what's happening?" That's her cue to be honest and simply say that she forgot to place our order! It's ok! Humanity is acceptable... lying by omission is not. We got up and simply walked out after at LEAST 30 minutes, maybe 35. We ended up grumbling through fast food because we were so incredibly hungry!

I was pleasantly surprised when I ate and the Olive Garden in June 2012. My friend and I arrived at the start of the lunch rush. There were lots of diners already. We were seated at a very nice small booth, and immediately the waitress was there asking for drink orders. There was also a promotion for wine pairing and we were offered a free glass of wine. What a great idea. I loved the chicken & gnocchi soup which was endless, tho I only had one bowl. And my friend had a huge bowl of salad (the endless salad bowl). I had eggplant parmigiana which was perfect. My only complaint is I wanted a special coffee, but didn't understand the menu and was brought a very expensive drink. So if you have a question. Ask! My friend had the Italian coffee and it was delicious. It's sort of a spendy lunch, but if we had eaten closer to 1:30, we would have been filled for the day.

What can you write about a chain restaurant? This was a nice Olive Garden... They are all pretty nice. And pretty... the same, looking. We only came because I had a 25$ gift card and we were starving. It was crazy busy but the hosts were really polite and got us seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was really really nice also. She was probably a student at SOU or something (She looked really young. Not incompetent, though). She was really attentive and polite, always (and didn't seem to judge us for eating... probably half of the entire restaurant's bread sticks. We seriously had like 7 or 8 baskets). My boyfriend got two appetizers for dinner, the smoked mozzarella fonduta and the lasagna fritta. I did the "create your own pasta bowl" thing because I'm totally boring; with 5 cheese marinara and italian sausage. We sort of just shared everything. It was all really great!! The frittas are sooo good. I almost wish we would have just gotten three orders of those! Lol. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because this was the only and first time I/we've been there, and you can't really judge a place on the FIRST time you go. Would recommend, of course! Will be back again.

I've been coming here for a couple years now and I am always happy with this restaurant. Right now they have the buy one get one to take home special- got the fettuccine Alfredo - but I wanted salmon too- so a very large portion salmon fillet grilled along with my fettuccine was under 8 bucks. My date had the tour of Italy with tortellini- chicken Lombardy and mushroom fettuccine- everything was so good- my server was Ryan in the bar area- he took great care of us. I do enjoy the staff here- they take customer service seriously and really, if any things ever wrong, just tell them and they fix it- communication is everything

We went there last week for a "Date Night" we almost walked out before we were seated. The parking lot was full and there was a couple that left in front of us complaining about a 1 hour wait. We decided to see what they said when we got up there. Boy were we surprise. They said 10-15 minutes and by the time they could hand me the buzzer the waitress came up to seat us. Our waiter was super friendly, he wasn't always at our table which was nice but he came by a few times to check in. We did the 2 for $25 deal. Everything was great, salad was tasty... breadsticks were.... welll... they were YUM! and warm! My wife got the shrimp mezaluna, which surprisingly was far from skimping on the shrimp! I got Chicken Alfredo which was creamy and tasty, the chicken was cooked well. For desert we got the teramisu, which was awesome! At the end the Waiter also brought us some extra breadsticks to send with out left overs! How awesome! Also, he accidentally brought an Ice Tea which he went ahead and left with us. **TIP** if you can sit outside, it was great!

Was craving the zuppa Tuscana soup. Food was good and service was mediocre as always. Wasn't bad but I wasn't outstanding either. But for $7.99 you can't beat unlimited soup/salad and breadsticks!

Best deal on Veteran's Day out of any restaurant in Medford for Veterans to get a full FREE MEAL!!! ;) We even got free dessert for volunteering to switch our table with an elderly couple mid meal. Food was as awesome as always! Can't go wrong. As long as you go here for dinner when there is a good deal and they aren't busy then you will have a great experience. I even signed up for their email list to get coupons. My only complaint is the long wait with a blinking pager on nights they are swamped but that is any Olive Garden. Lol

We had been travelling all day, we were hungry and tired (my son actually fell asleep in the booth after he ate dinner). We had to wait a few minutes but the hosts were kind and speedy, they gave us a table as quickly as they could. Bonnie is a great server, you can tell she's worked in fine dining, she hit every step of service expertly, what an asset to the Olive Garden, if she's not a company trainer than she certainly should be. The food came quickly and it was all hot and delicious! I had not been to an Olive Garden in years (we generally stay away from corporate chain restaurants) but this experience made me wonder, why don't we eat at Olive Garden more often? Thank you Bonnie for a great dining experience!!!

Got the all you eat soup and entree for $10. Great deal. I got the gnocchi and chicken soup with the eggplant parmesan for the entree. The soup was pretty good. The eggplant good too. I wish the eggplant was sliced a little thicker. It was so thin that the batter was about the same thickness as the eggplant. The server was really nice, but I felt it was slow.

Our server was really cool, she was very nice and had a great sense of humor. But THAT'S THE ONLY GOOD PART OF THE EXPERIENCE. The food is bad as heck, so bad infact it gave my friend brain damage so he could no longer sleep the word moos. AND WORSE OF ALL, YOU CANT REQUEST SONGS

Recently, I wrote a negative review of this establishment. However after a phone call with the regional manager Chuck Flore to discuss my concerns, my husband agreed to try it again, and we were not disappointed. Our server Aaron was exceptional, and he provided us with outstanding service, and the food was exceptional. You must try the white chocolate raspberry cheese cake! Thank you Aaron and thank you Chuck Flore for talking us into giving your establishment a second try - it was outstanding.

Our server was nice. The word moose wasn't spelled correctly. It should be "moos" as in "chocolate moos cake". I liked the sticks and the coke. My party made this a night to not remember. All in all olive garden is a good restaurant for a time to eat and a time to sit.

We went for a late lunch and had a few minutes before an appointment. We were quickly seated and our server, Josh asked if w had any time restrictions, I am not sure how he knew. We told him yes and he was very attentive. My wife and I each had the soup and salad special. We can't say enough about our server. He knew we had an appointment and he made sure we were served promptly and courteously. Food was good and Josh made it better.

Sigh. I didn't have much of a choice. Actually, I did. I could have strong armed my business lunch date into a better restaurant, but because she was paying (and bidding for our business) I didn't want to be pushy. Damn. The things we do for love. At any rate, I chose the cheese ravioli. Cheap, but not as quick as I had expected. The plate was BURNING hot but the ravioli was barely warm. It appeared that they carefully applied just three tablespoons of marinara--so they were dry too. Yum. God I hate Olive Garden.

Our second visit to this particular Olive Garden, and it was just perfect this time! We came here last year on a trip to Oregon. This year on our trip to Seattle, we stopped here in Medford and came back to the same place again. Last year we had a disappointing visit. The food was great, but the service was extremely slow. Our server last year tried very hard to still make a good visit for us by offering us alternatives or extra snacks as our food was delayed about 45 minutes. This year our (different) server Deirdre was fantastic, as everything with the service was perfect this year. Deirdre was very knowledgable about the specials, the menu items, and the wine she sampled for us. All the items we ordered were delicious, and came out just right. We have been to Olive Garden so many times over the years. Usually the foods are very consistent with just a few differences once in a while. This time everything turned out just right the way it should be. The service was also speedy and efficient this time, maybe because we arrived at 8pm, with a minimal wait, and it wasn't so crowded afterwards. Our soup and salad came quickly, the appetizer quickly after that, and our entrees soon after that. Deirdre also checked up on us often and could tell when we were done so we weren't kept waiting at all when we were ready to go. Overall a perfect experience, the way it should be.

Was talked into going here for lunch with a friend. The soup, salad and breadsticks is okay and the price is good. For me, everything else has that pre-made kind of fast food or came frozen type flavor. Nothing seems fresh or cooked to order at all but the prices and hype seem to try to convey that they are. We were also charged a totally different price from what was on the menu and had to hunt down our server to fix it (which has happened to me twice). My biggest complaint is actually that this establishment has a horrible smell when you walk in and it continues into the dining areas. The last time I was there it was so bad I had a hard time eating. It's a convenient place for Medford but with lackluster food, inconsistent service, cleanliness and quality it will never be my first choice.

First of all I must say that I love Italian food, and Olive Garden is probably my favorite place to eat in Medford. If only we had an Olive Garden in Grants Pass... The food is good, and the staff is usually quite friendly. I don't get to come here too often since I don't live in town, so usually when I do get to eat here there are new items on the menu, and that is quite nice. Updating the menu this way keeps things interesting. I'd definitely say that I'm a fan.

The 2 for $25 deal is well worth it! Jason was our waiter, very good service all the way through. Mike, the manager, helped us with a minor issue we had, and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied, which we were. Oh yah- the food? Not for dieters (at least my selections :) ), but consistently good food all the way through. For once we tried desserts. Hard to save room, but they're good too.

Alright I have been waiting to review this place...probably one of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant....bad food and even worse service!! First we had a mediocre wait, which OK I can understand, no big deal. We get seated, and then our waitress comes. Well this pathetic excuse for Britney Spears looked like she could care less about anything, let alone our order. No eye contact, barely there, and her nails were absolutely disgusting! If I was her manager I would have made her get rid of them because they were long and gross....anyway, she takes our order and we wait and wait and wait....while she gabs away with her friends at another table. FINALLY we get our food, and as I start eating (I was about half through) I find a rather large piece of plastic in my food. Yeah not what I was expecting. So we FINALLY flag down the waitress and she acted like she had NO CLUE what to do...."well I can get you another one if you want"....fine, whatever....so I get another order. This time, I kid you not, I found a hair in it....I was so ready to be done I stopped eating, didn't bother with anything else, and we got out of there as quick as we could! Should have probably gotten it comp'd but REALLY DID NOT want to bother anymore with the dunce waitress! Sounds horrible, and it was!! Sorry to write this review, but I had to do it, and will NEVER go back again!!

Sorry about the one star, but after 2 years of loyally patronizing this establishment I am so disappointed by last nights service. Ever since we moved away from our favorite Italian restaurant we've been bringing our family to the Olive Garden. Even though the food is over priced, it's consistent and the service has always been outstanding! Unfortunately, last night we had Amanda. When we ordered I asked for an extra plate for my younger daughter, who just comes for the side of spaghetti, bread sticks and salad. When the salad arrived Amanda did not bring a plate for my younger daughter. When I asked her about it, for the first time in 2 years I was told that they would be charging for her salad. It would have been far more polite to ask me if I wanted a plate and explain that in the first place. I said that it was a first and Amanda offered no explanation. If that's the policy than it should always be upheld or at least mentioned. The other 3 members of the family were done with the bowl of salad before she brought a plate for my daughter and more salad. At that point my husband asked for a new glass for his wine because the glass was dirty. Amanda corrected him and called them water spots, my husband then told her calmly and politely that the glass was crusty and he was actually scraping the food off with his nail. Amanda offered no apology for the dirty glass. When she returned with a new glass she gave him a very short pour, and it was obviously not an accident. We did not say anything to Amanda about the wine. At that point, our family dinner was quickly becoming a ruined evening. My daughter was embarrassed, and felt responsible. I could have been feeling self conscious, but for the first time ever, we were not told to have a good evening or acknowledged when we left. I think it's time to find a new place to go.

I've always had positive experiences with Olive Garden... anywhere in the U.S. I really enjoy their stuffed mushrooms, and breadsticks...and other appetizers I can't remember. It's clean and the servers are always friendly.

I have ate here twice in the last two months and unfortunately both times a large group of people were there as well . both times I felt like an inconvenient extra problem. both times I ordered a soup and pasta . I had to wait 30 minutes to get my soup and then 45 minutes more to get my pasta making my wait time an hour and fifteen minutes to my main course. I can't see how this is acceptable for any business. focus on one group of people instead of every one equally. I for one will not be giving any more money to a business that does not want my money

  • Landon H.

We're not all that impressed with our experience at Olive Garden. The majority of servers we've had are not helpful, nor are they polite or exemplify class or respect. I would like more options for a healthier meal. It's either a light salad, or a meal covered in butter/oil and cheese (which isn't very Italian). The manager is a great, respectable man, however. He deserves respect. I come here every once in a while when I crave their soup, but most of the time, I'd rather go somewhere that offers a better selection, and respectable wait staff.

Olive Garden is okay for a Italian restaurant chain. Nothing spectacular in terms of the food, but the service is excellent. We were seated quickly, and the server was very attentive. I enjoy the fact that they offer a sample of whatever wine they're featuring. The desserts and the endless breadsticks are the tastiest thing they have to offer. If you're looking for relatively well priced Italian food and as many breadsticks as you can eat, go to Olive Garden.

Food was terrible, I've never tasted shrimp so fishy in my life. My husband and I will not go to an Olive Garden again, let alone this one. Felt bad for the waitress. :C

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
