I actually couldn't wait to get back from vacation and write this review. Being from the East Coast, we dont get meat options like this. A burger is a burger made from a cow. When I saw the menu here I was stunned. Kangaroo burger, Himalayan antelope burger, wild boar burger. come on. burger heaven. You get super creative gourmet burgers. The sweet potato fries were awesome and there is a good beer selection. It was crowded and you might have to share a table with some strangers. i loved it though. If this is some thing you'd be into. I can 100% say you will love it.

The burgers are very good, and there are many choices. Many locals have told us that the service is lousy, but we had no problems. We got an outdoor seat quickly, and the food was served in about 10 minutes. The prices are very fair. I will visit again for sure.

If you want to have the most amazing, gourmet burger ever... well, Jaspers is the place to be! There's nothing lo-cal about it, but it is pure and utter burger heaven. I don't care what your favorite flavors are on a burger -- you're sure to find it here. Get adventurous, trying something that sparks your imagination on the menu and odds are great, you'll be very happy with your choice. This is a very casual place -- but it makes up for it in outstanding food. That's a trade I'd make all day long, every day.

AMAZING service. Really. Our server was very friendly and clearly enjoyed his job. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended the delicious Jiffy burger to me. I will be coming back here next time I'm in Medford.

Best authentic gourmet burgers in Oregon. Jaspers is part of southern Oregon history and the traditions of flavor and quality are conned to this day. While places like Eddies Famous (which used to have incredible old fashioned burgers) have gone down hill, Jaspers has evolved into a gourmet burger bonanza! It feels good to support a local business that is this passionate about their product. The staff is always friendly and they have a great happy hour during the week. What more could you ask for?

Fun and interesting burgers as well as a super-friendly and helpful server, Matthew, made our stop at Jaspers Cafe a memorable meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the Widowmaker (antelope and avocado with peanut chipotle sauce) and my wife made a bold choice with the Genghis Khan (antelope with pot stickers, grilled onions, and sweet chili sauce) and didn't regret it. We topped off the burgers with a couple of delicious milk shakes. We will be back the next time we pass through Medford. Don't let the less-than-attractive location and tiny, funky building fool you. This is good eats!

Best burgers around & milkshakes to die for! Everyone I know loves this place. I've traveled quite a bit and haven't had better. Good prices too. Just wish the place was bigger, it's a little cramped. Other than that, no complaints!

I can't believe I haven't been here before since we come to town so often and use to live in the area. YUMMY!. Eat outside if you can (inside seemed warm and small). Just about any burger you could want from traditional to exotic. I enjoy sweet potato fries and they were good. Lots of good milk shakes. This is a great place to go and I will be back!

BEST BURGER in Oregon! We love Jaspers for burgers and my favourite, the Chilli Dog. We have not tried any meat other than beef but you have the choice of many different meats. The building is small with only a few tables inside and a few outside but the food is 5 star! Many places put so much money into the building and overlook the fact that you came there for the food, no so with Jaspers you will get an excellent meal served by friendly and fun people. Try it next time you are in Medford, you won't regret your decision.

Totally agree with Food-B on this one. I have never had a more delicious looking burger taste as bland as this one. No seasoning and way over-cooked. A cute place with good service but the food just didn't do it for me, sadly. Jimmy's in Grants Pass, now that's a good burger ! :)

This place was recommended by the desk clerk at my hotel. It was a very good recommendation. I had a basic burger, nothing fancy (though they really can do fancy), and it was excellent. As was the chocolate shake. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The service was fast and VERY friendly and attentive. I only ordered a shake, and one of the guys who worked there noticed and asked me if I wanted a glass of water, and then went and got one for me. That was amazing customer service. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND JASPERS CAFE!!!

I try a different burger every time I come here since there's so many options. And so far, each burger has been unique, original, and delicious!!!

  • Tam S.

The burgers are delicious! Very creative menu with different meats (buffalo, hamburger, etc...) with off the wall toppings like blu cheese and PP&J! Price is a bit much for what you get but the staff are very friendly and a fun atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Shakes are great too!

I am giving Jasper's five stars, because every time I have been to this place, I haven't been disappointed. And by "not disappointed," I mean the service is good, and the burgers are even better. They are fresh, made to order. You can see them shaping the raw beef into patties from where you order. The kitchen is tiny. The seating area is tiny. But still, the place is always packed, and it's because Jasper's has the best burgers in the area. Obviously, if you are from a more cultured city than Medford (not hard to find), you've probably had better. But let's face it. This is Medford, and it's hard to find a really excellent place to eat. Therefore, based on location, and for my experiences, this place definitely deserves five stars. Never had a better burger :)

Totally bummed out after reading the great reviews here; my wife, 2 kids, and me had arranged to meet a dear family friend here for dinner as we passed through Medford. I love burgers and was looking forward to eating here. Sadly, I'm in a power wheelchair and there is about a 3-inch threshold at the door...couldn't make it in and the workers couldn't find a board or anything. They used the excuse that the building was old enough to not need to meet ADA requirements, but I'm pretty sure they could get a simple "temporary" threshold ramp without triggering the need to comply with other requirements. Anyhow, we had to go elsewhere since the goal was to have dinner inside a restaurant with our friend. I was disappointed...

Inside or outside seating. This is a classic burger joint with an assortment of meat choices like kangaroo, antelope, and more. I ordered a Widow Maker, Oreo shake, and large order of onion rings to share. It was yummy and the other 4 people that joined me agreed. Hot dogs and burgers with the extras to make them awesome.

  • Christine C.

Ok, they have some carazeeeee meat choices; alligator, kangaroo, bison? But let me tell you why there is a line to eat here: IT IS AMAZING! The servers are friendly and helpful when choosing. I tried the kangaroo burger and now I can say I did. Haha. It was good. Tastes just like....turkey!! Haha. You won't be sorry.

The positive is that I stopped here hungry on the way to Los Gatos from Olympia, Washington and I left pretty full. The downside is that the food here was pretty average and the average wait times and the seating could have been a little better. With the popularity of this place, it might serve them better to just tear out the floor and put in moveable chairs. Their current set up seems a bit uncomfortable and strange. They do have a decent selection of interesting game meats to try, and the burgers were good quality, not to mention the spongey and nice gluten free bun that they served it with. The fries did not taste freshly cut, so they are probably worth skipping.

Yuck. Cafeteria style frozen meat burgers. Exotic meats, great but the food is low quality. Will not be back.

GREAT food! Burgers, fries, hot dogs, sandwiches....they got it all. They are all good. Some interesting flavors. Definitely worth a try!

Pretty good burgers. Lots of different meats to choose from: elk, bison, beef, and boar. Jasper's puts a new twist on the average hamburger. Not only is the food good, but the service is pretty fast too. The establishment is pretty small, so if you have a larger group be prepared to wait for a table. In the summer time seating is available outside, and I think from now on if we get food here it will be to go.

It is extremely difficult living a one-minute drive away from this place. Life was so much simpler and cheaper when we would just drive by and think nothing of this tiny, "nothing" looking place. Then I heard my manager rave about Jasper's... and then when I was searching for a place to have a "special" lunch at, I was floored by the reviews... I would never expect so much from such a ridiculously small, blah looking building. So on that fateful day, I texted my husband to say: "We're going to Jasper's tomorrow." He was stoked, because he KNEW they made burgers. But what happened? He couldn't even get a burger the first time we went there... He got a philly cheese steak while I took advantage of French Dip Friday. Wow. Their french dip sandwiches are so different (think pot roast) but actually very good... loading to the brim with meat (too much for me but perfect for my husband). The au jus was wonderful and the fries were such a great way to complement a fresh, delicious meal. But I, a french dip aficionado, actually preferred their philly cheese steak.... My only issue is that sometimes the meat is too thick or tough (I like thinly sliced) but for someone who's picky about meat, I crave Jasper's sooooooo much. Between their excellent crew, wonderful sandwiches, and fresh fries to die for, I can't stand living a half mile from there. It does seem you have to pay a lot to get a meal. But I guess you'd pay the same at Quizno's, which isn't nearly as fresh, local, or hearty. And the dining area is miniscule and very cramped... but it gets people in and out. The first time we went there, the place was packed; the cashier offered to not only bring the food out to our car while we waited outside, but to let us come back in as much as we wanted for free refills while we waited (and while we ate outside)! What could Jasper's use other than a bigger lobby? A DRIVE THRU. We call in orders all the time and I can tell you that we would be giving so much more business if we could just call, drive there, and drive out. Maybe someday! I definitely understand why people come from all over to go to this tiny place.

This is a little burger place but it can stand up to the best gourmet burger places in California. We stopped here on our way to Seattle and it was recommended by the staff at our hotel. I ordered the Pittsburger and really enjoyed it. This was followed by a Chai Milkshake. Unusual but it was good. Not sure when I'll be in this area again but when I am I'm stopping by for a return visit. Elk burger or wild boar? Not sure but both are here and that's what I'm having on my return.

Jasper's has a lot of cool and wacky burgers and hot dogs. In our visit I tried the "Widowmaker" burger, made from Himalayan antelope, with bacon, cheddar, and a peanut butter chipottle BBQ sauce. It was a complete mess. I usually like all meats, but the antelope actually had an unpleasant taste. It was also incredibly dry. Fortunately, perhaps, you couldn't actually taste it, as the BBQ sauce overpowered everything else. It was a tasty enough sauce, but I like a variety of flavors on my burger. My husband also had one of their special elk burgers. The meat in this one was tasty, but it was also dry and overpowered by the sauce. The regular beef burgers also got mixed results. My husband liked them, my daughter hated them and I thought they had an unusual flavor that didn't offend me but didn't win me over either. Full review at marga.org/foodblog/2011/…

So, many choices! The best tasty burger - - make sure to make room for the homemade milkshakes. The only downsize is the small building - - finding seating during lunch-hours can be difficult. Outside seating's is great on a warm sunny days. THE BEST, my favorite burger place in town.....so far!

Service is somewhat slow sometimes. But it's the best burger joint around in Medford.

First time here and wow, was fantastic. The place was packed so we opted to get our food and go. They dont have an extensive kids menu but what they do have is great and my son loved it. Will be back again!

Definitely some of the best burgers I've ever had! My favorites would be the Southern and the Smokey and the Bandit however everything they serve is amazing. If you haven't eaten here I suggest you do so!

Damn that was a tasty burger! Maybe even the closest thing to the Big Kahuna Burger from Pulp Fiction. After looking for some good burgers in this town with limited choices I came across Jasper's based on reviews from Yelp. So a few days ago I finally decided to give this place a try. Now it did have a few down sides but because the burger was so good I'm looking past those and giving it 5 stars. The menu was huge and there was way too much to choose from. Luckily I checked the menu before driving out here so I knew what I wanted. One of the down sides is this place always appears to be very busy. So busy that there's no tables to sit at and there's quite a line. I had to order my food to go because there was no place to sit down and the wait for my food was quite long but was worth it overall. This place could really use a bigger space to house more customers. Looking at some of the pictures on this page I know I'll be back again and again to try some more of their selections. Overall this one probably one of the best burgers I've ever tasted in a long time even better than In-N-Out. I highly recommend this place. I just won't go back here during the lunch time rush.

Great burgers , out of this world shakes. Fries are yummy but don't order onion rings really soggy & greasy. Friendly folks.

  • Sher G.

Get your order TO GO! They play nothing but country music inside and it's extra crowded inside. Burgers are great! The side of onion rings aren't big enough to split between 2 people but they are beer battered so really good. My hubby and I tried the western burger and the classic burger. Their mustard was really good and the beef patty tastes like they added garlic and other spices to it. The bourbon bbq sauce was really good on the western burger as well. The cafe has a definite western feel and very patriotic (republican) decor as well. ;)

  • Shyla C.

The BEST burgers in Medford! I have tried just a handful of the burgers they have to offer, but every one of them has been amazing. They even have 'exotic' meat burgers, sweet potato fries (and tots), as well as hot dogs with just as many variations as they offer with their burgers. The only negative thing I can say is the size of the place is pretty small, so when its busy you do have to wait for a place to sit. Also, on the same note its common to sit together with other diners during the busy periods, too. If you are not keen on sitting with someone you don't know, get it to go, its worth it!!

This tiny, local burger joint has been dishing out burger baskets in Medford for over 35 years. After browsing the huge selection of burgers, I tried the Western Burger Basket for less than eight bucks. Big, fat burger with excellent fries and a delicious dipping sauce. Iced tea with unlimited refills was free with the burger. I now know why Jaspers was a 2010 Mail Tribune Readers Choice winner. Excellent service and exceptionally friendly staff. Expect it to be packed around lunch time. If your driving north or south on I5 near Medford and find yourself craving a good burger, I highly recommend Jaspers.

After rafting the Rogue River we had one night in Medford and everyone recommended Jasper's. We got to Jasper's at exactly 7pm not knowing that's when they closed! Luckily they waived our party of 6 inside and we got to order. Very delicious burgers there but the milkshakes were really the highlight in so many flavors and with whipped cream and sprinkles too! Very friendly service and they didnt look at us funny when we each ordered a beer AND a milkshake :) with our burgers.

Awesome burgers, fries - MUCH better than Red Robin for a variety of good tasting burgers. I see one negative review, and just to put it in perspective, I feel I should offer my point of view on the criticisms: Yes there may be a bit of grease, but it's a burger. The flavor IS great, I recommend getting a specialty burger. They have sweet potato fries, those are awesome and I prefer them. The owner has always been friendly but never overly friendly. I've been in over a dozen times over the years.

Found Jaspers on a chowhound thread that discussed decent diners just off of I-5. I was on a roadtrip from Seattle to Sacramento and Medford seemed like the right place to stop. We got in there around 1pm and it seemed like the lunch rush was still going on. Ordered a veggie burger and an antelope burger...managed to snag one of the inside tables after about 10 minutes of waiting The fries were pretty greasy and soggy..... I enjoyed the veggie burger, but it really was a mess to eat. Home mad patty was loose and just kind of smooshed onto the bun. Husband did not like the antelope at all...don't knwo what his expectations were, but it didn't impress him. It was great to try somewhere small and local for the drive - certainly gave us a nice chance to stretch our legs.

Went here after a long day shopping at Rogue Valley Mall..it was amazing! Before moving to Southern Oregon, we lived in Portland & Southern California, pretty good food places. To say we've been bored and uninspired by the food here (an "Asian grill" place served me "Pad Thai" with angel hair pasta- I should've called my family and told them not to unpack the u-haul and we needed out fast) is an understatement. This was a welcome surprise. For the three of us each getting gourmet burgers, sharing a large fry, an ice tea, and malt shake was $33. I am more than willing to pay that amount for great food & service.

For such a small place, they have an incredible burger menu. Such a wide variety, in several different sizes,. something for every palate. If it weren't for the very limited seating, both indoors and out (in the weather), probably would go more often. AS it is, it is great that a place like this exists and is doing very, very well.

  • Darrin T.

A very small place with huge taste, the seating in the winter is tough because there are only 6 smallish tables inside (always full and always great service) spring and summertime outside seating opens up a lot more tables. The menu is versed in depth of so many types of burgers (and hot dogs), Elk, Boar, Alligator, Kangaroo, Kobe beef, Antelope (my sons favorite) the list goes on... I have tried almost every single one on the menu! The milk shakes (like 15 flavors) are incredible and delicious (flavors abound), they have a "happy hour" at 3pm burger prices drop, I got a basket of fries, burger and drink $5!! The flat grill method in NO WAY takes away from the flavor (best in town) John, the owner, is a very friendly and stand up guy, always looking for feedback to improve or continue the course. Chain restaurants ( or fast food) don't even compare to the REAL MEAT BURGERS here.

Read so much about it, that when we moved to town we just HAD to try it. Turned out it is right near our house! Not anywhere near the best burgers ever. We had regular beef ones, and took an elk home to my teenage son. I agree with other reviewers that the owner needs to stay in the kitchen and quit stopping by tables to chat! He definitely overstays his welcome! Let your customers get on with eating! The tables inside are few, small and the place is not what I expected at all. Just read off the wall, order, stand around and carry it to a table. There are more outside, but we only found one on the side near a dumpster, and we were bothered by flies. His catch (or gimmick if you will) is offering meat such as elk, buffalo, antelope, kangaroo etc.

Better than Red Robin, not quite as good as Eddy's. The burger was a solid contender. I went for a pineapple, teriyaki offering that while messy was quite good. The meat was a bit overdone and lacking a bit of the fresh beef flavor I was hoping for. One my next visit I'll ask if they can prepare it a bit below medium. The combination of flavors was very nice and melded well together. The menu alone is mind boggling, I don't recall ever seeing so many combination in one place. The fries were just meh, and the chocolate shake while house made didn't have quite enough syrup and was too thick. Even a plastic spoon broke trying to get a bite. It needed to sit almost 20 minutes after I had finished my burger to really be able to drink it. Don't go there in a hurry, not because service is slow but because there is always a line. The Medford location probably tips in at under 400 square feet so table space is at a premium on rainy days, I sat in my car because I was too claustrophobic to dine-in. I will definitely return and try again (actually tried a couple of nights ago and missed them by a few minutes). Maybe on another day they'll gain a star or two.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! What a gem this little Burger shack is. Started eating here when I was pregnant with my second child 5 years ago and try to hit it up every time we drive to Medford. They make their patties from fresh beef (local I think), and use all quality ingredients. My children and I always get a buckaroo Burger and a green salad ( leafy greens and fresh, yummy veggies). Husband gets t he Dave Burger with pastrami and Swiss. Fries are good, and come in a cute little bucket. Resturant is clean, but small. It's often hard to find a parking place or a table. The best part of all is the owners and staff. They have treated us like family since my very first visit. They always remember us and are truly kind people. As a matter of fact everyone at this restaurant is nice, must just be a good vibe running through there. Another great quality is the use biodegradable to go container. There is nothing worse then take out in styrofoam. Don't take my word for it, check it out. Plus the have $5 daily specials and happy hour after 3pm when all the specialty burgers are $5.

Jaspers is well known in the area for their great food but also well known for their long wait. If you go during their lunch or dinner rush it can be touch to get a seat, especially during the cold/rainy months when their outdoor tables are shut down. I've enjoyed just about every burger I've tried on the menu. Give the more unusual burgers a try (antelope, bison, elk, etc), those always seem to be the best. I wasn't a huge fan of the burger I had tonight (a chili burger), it was on the dry side and not very flavorful. But that's literally the only burger I've had there that I was disappointed it, not because the chili burger was bad but because they've set the bar so high! Their customer service is excellent as well. Any time we bring our dog they give us a doggie ice cream treat (no charge). Unfortunately, he likes the burgers and fries more than the treat so sometimes it gets ignored while he drools on my leg (can't blame him!). One visit to Jasper's was with some folks who tend to be picky eaters. They complained about their burgers being under cooked (despite eating half of one and three fourths of the other). The burgers were cooked perfectly, but the owner was very gracious and not only cooked them new burgers but gave us burger bucks for our next visit.

Man, I hate hype. Hype is the worst. So many people have told me "go to Jaspers, best burgers ever." so today, with boyfriend in tow, we head out early before the huge lunch rush. I don't know what to say. The place was full, save for one small table in the corner. The menu was overwhelming to say the least. I didn't know what to order so I ordered a swiss mushroom burger. My boyfriend got a veggie burger. We sat down and waited an expected amount of time. During that time the owner, I presume, brought out orders and chatted with each table for an uncomfortable amount of time about the food they're eating. Our food came. The burgers were huge. The fries on the side were absolutely huge portions. I think I've mentioned in my reviews before that I don't necessarily care for huge portions, but as long as the quality matches the quantity, who am I to complain? The fries were just normal, run of the mill, greasy fries. I ate maybe 4 and left the entire basket full. The burger. Oh the burger. Such potential. Such a let down. The burger was big and so so so greasy. So greasy in fact, that for the first time in my life, I had to pat my burger down with a paper-towel. The mushrooms were pretty much raw. Starchy and flavorless. I took them off my burger, along with the thin and watery piece of tomato. I planned on finishing the burger, or as much as I could, because it tasted much better without the mushrooms on it so I was stoked. BUT THEN... The owner comes to our table to harass. First he starts badgering my boyfriend about eating a veggie burger because another customer in the store was. No, you don't understand, he said something about the veggie burger 3 times. Before turning to me and asking if I wasn't happy with my food. I made the mistake of being honest by saying I thought the mushrooms would be cooked. WHOOOO BOY. I got the spiel of a century about how he wants his chefs to cook his mushrooms. I started to apologize and say that it's ok. And he KEPT INSISTING on cooking the mushrooms. NO DUDE JUST LEAVE ME THE SHIT ALONE. He then started pulling these "bucks" out of his pocket for our next visit, making a scene so the small and full restaurant was all now looking at me. It was so embarrassing that I began to shake and just pushed my food away. I waited for my boyfriend to finish his last bites, left my almost entire burger and entire basket of french fries and the "bucks" on the table and left. HUMILIATING! No thanks. I'll stick with the little burger shop downtown that is always quiet and quick. My boyfriend sorta disagreed with me and called it "good customer service" but I think good customer service has to do with being able to read your customers. SOME customers don't like to be harassed while they eat. SOME customers become easily upset and don't like confrontation so instead of complaining and sending food back, they eat the parts they like. Had they just left us alone, I think we might have become customers. No chance now.

Don't leave Medford without eating at this burger joint! It may look small the the menu is astounding. Perfect burgers on home baked hamburger buns for basics, but the owner-chef is always trying something new and delicious. I always mean to have elk, Kobe beef, antelope, or buffalo...but my husband loves the ranch burger and I love the Ortega burger. Beef quality is outstanding.

If you asked me where to eat in the Medford/Ashland area, I would probably send you here. Which is funny, considering I don't eat meat! Seriously, though, they have probably the best veggie burger I've ever had. The Jacksonville location does a better job of making it an actual "burger" - here it's more like a smooshed mess - but it tastes soooooooo good it doesn't matter! And the sweet potato fries are a must. Brought a friend here once and she said, "I could definitely die today knowing I lived a happy life, after eating this veggie burger!" :) Also, kudos to the owner for taking care of business - I wrote to them after an especially awful customer dis-service experience and she called me that night, offering up certificates for me.

Do yourself a favor and stop here! We drove from Seattle to LA over Labor Day weekend and Jaspers was on my list of stops because of a random review. We were not disappointed. My Wild Boar BBQ Burger was TO DIE FOR!!!...mainly because of the spicy bbq ranch sauce it came with. Also, the onion rings were some of the best I've ever had. This place was well worth the trip. They have a ridiculously extensive menu that will satisfy anyone. Definitely stop in.

Burger Heaven! Mouthwatering juicy burgers, crazy combinations like peanut butter and chipotle sauce, pure heaven. PREPARE for a line and a crowded wait but worth every bite!

Despite the fact that my sister's dog almost got attacked by a pitbull outside because a guy wasn't holding onto it's leash, the delicious burger I got made up for it. The one with with peanut butter and jelly is particularly good, although every burger I've had there has been satisfying.

A hidden gem. Expect a wait any time around lunch, unless you call your order in ahead of time, but WELL worth it. Several dozen burger choices, including such exotic items as wild boar, elk and the ever-popular free range buffalo. Burgers are cooked correctly, great combinations, nice selection of sodas. Best burgers in Southern Oregon, at least.

Great comfort food place! Jaspers is sort of hidden in betweeen non-restaurant shops on N. Pacific Hwy. This place is pretty small with limited seating but has a nice chalkboard filled with handwritten menu to grasp your attention while you wait in line during rush hours. I ordered the Fiesta Burger basket with fries for $7.95 (Fresh avocado smothered in Curly Bill's Southwest Sauce atop all the fixin's...then add mushrooms sauteed in Jamaican Jerk glaze.) It was one amazing juicy burger that dripped everywhere. Their fries however was pretty soggy, it's more of a...cooked potato strips instead of the normal 'fries' that I'm more familiar with... Anyhow, my coworker had the Hawaiian Cowboy Burger filled with BBQ sauce + pineapple, it looked pretty good too. I'd imagine majority of their gourmet burgers are going to be amazing. I'm not sure how 'healthy' these burgers are though considering how tasty they were but if you are ever in the mood for some greasy comfort food, this would be the right place to go!

You know how on the food network some obnoxiousness host goes to some cute quirky restaurant and you think to yourself I want to eat there? well, Jasper's is that place. It has tons of character. The food here is really good, but the dining area is really small. Unless its warm and you want to eat outside I'd recommend getting takeout because you'll end up feeling claustrophobic.

Best burgers in Medford hands down for those of you who need an In-N-Out sort of fix and can't drive to Redding this is the next best thing. Never had a bad burger here in 2 years. FYI: Gets crowded and is in a small building but is well worth any wait. Also $5 for any burger basket from like 3 - 5 PM i think. Great deal.

  • J B.

Positives: Great veggie burgers and sweet potato fries. Fast and good service. Reasonably priced. Negatives: Wish they had Coca-cola products instead. Very small restaurant; only 4 tables inside. If you go with less than 3 people, you may have to sit with strangers at the same table, which is awkward. Limited and difficult parking outside.

Awesome burgers! My boyfriend is a burger snob and we both loved this place. He got a western burger and I got the jiffy burger with peanut butter and bacon. So good.

  • Dave A.

This place has the elements of a cool little burger joint. I ordered the jiffy burger with sweet potato fries and came with a refillable fountain soda. The burger was an irregular shape, indicating hand fashioned, real meat, not a processed patty. Included within is real bacon (2) and peanut butter on two fluffy buns. Yup, peanut butter. It works. Although skeptical at first, it made for an interesting flavor combo. Usually I'm a fry guy, but the burger won out as incredibly satisfying. It's like a step back into the 70's. Bench style seating inside and out. If it gets cold outside, you can request blankets. Minus 1 star for "forgetting" to give me the happy hour pricing. I could tell by the server's reaction of surprise that I caught it, not that she failed to apply the rate. I still tipped 20% for the good food and attentive service. I would like to return to explore the menu.

Are those corn chips on that burger? Why yes yes they are. They are even the chili cheese ones. They are accompanied by bacon, grilled onions, barbeque sauce, and other greatness. The are about twenty unique burgers on the menu and they all looked so good. Lexie enjoyed her Lone Ranger. Juli liked her Jasperado. And my Johny Ringo was amazingly good. Eat here. p.s. You might think you are in the wrong place but you are not.

Got the "doc holiday" and "Genghis Khan" delish burgers!!!! Cooked perfect and sauces were excellent. Ordered sweet potato fries but got regular fries. Waitress forgot to put in our drink order. Long wait time. But the food was great and worth the wait. We were traveling through and found Jaspers on yelp and it was a great stop!

  • Julie H.

The menu consists of well over 40 types of burgers, including wild boar, elk, kangaroo, and kobe beef. There are also classic beef burgers, turkey burgers and a veggie burger (although I don't think the veggie patty is made in-house). My favorite thing to order, however, is the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich. It was perfectly spicy with complex flavors, balanced with sweet mango. Jasper's also offers a nice selection of milkshakes and malts. I like the chai milkshake for its beautiful blend of sweetness and spice! Chocolate peanut butter isn't a bad way to go, either... The place is tiny and seating can be difficult, but if you have the time, the wait is totally worth it. The staff here is super friendly and accomodating.

We've long searched for a good local place in the greater Medford area other than Kaleidoscope Pizzeria & Pub and have struggled to be impressed. Meanwhile, local fishing guide Steven Theel of SO Chrome Guide Service took us here for lunch and we enjoyed every bite. Jaspers is a stand alone burger joint that has outdone its borders. It's destined for a larger, nicer building where it can serve new and more customers. It's won Best Burger in the region for many consecutive years and likely will continue to do so. Unlike places like Five Guys and In N Out, which are coming to Medford, Jaspers doesn't just have simple, small hamburger patties. They specialize in quality hand-padded burgers, with fresh ingredients and offer dozens of concoctions that aren't normal at standard burger joints. You'll find unique cream cheeses, toppings, dressings, cheeses and more slapped onto the top of burgers. Ordering just a cheeseburger is boring here. Try something with Fritos, creamy goat cheese, raspberry balsamic, or a mix of the trio. You're pallet will be introduced to combinations of flavors it's not accustomed to. Jaspers impresses by offering more than standard veggie, turkey and hamburgers. On the menu shine elk, buffalo, venison, boar and other meats that bring more flavor and something unique. Fortunately, portions rivals the quality of meats. You won't go home hungry. Meanwhile, Jaspers isn't going to impress you with a slick, new, modern building, complete with flat screens, a powerful air condition and comfy booths. The building might scare you from the outside and the tiny five tables inside resemble Del Taco. On the other hand, the service is top-notch. In fact, the owner greets everyone with a welcoming smile, and inviting personality and staff members have obviously been taught the value of service. When you get a chance peek behind the counter, there's a handful of cooks sweating, panting and excited about making a special burger for you. This place is designed for greater things and fame, and many locals have obviously figured this out as lines and lunch and dinner remain the norm. The new owner has done special things with Jaspers. When you meet him, don't be afraid to congratulate him. We need more local spots like these. On a side note, if you've been to the Dallas area, think Twisted Root. This business is a mirror of that small, yet successful chain.

Wow! I'm not a huge burger fan but this place was delicious! The quality of the meat is juicy and delicious. I got the Jiffy which had chipotle jam and peanut butter with bacon strips. It was tasty but I think I would've preferred my friend's burger. She got the Ringo when she had barbecue ranch with chili cheese Fritos with an egg as well. It was so delicious even with the jalapenos. I also got an Oreo shake which was good. The service was friendly and the waiter even sat down with us to take while ordered. Can't wait to return!

came in around 2:30 on a Sunday and was packed. They seated me at the outside bar which was cool and shaded. Other solo guests were seated there and was a friendly spot, as i ended up chatting the whole meal with a random stranger. Lots of Shake/malt flavors and I ended up going with a Chai shake, tasty and different. No beers on tap but they carried an alcoholic version of root beer which my neighbor got and enjoyed. I ordered the popper burger which had jalapeño poppers and bacon on it. No lettuce or tomatoes but it did have a spicy sauce and flavorful onions. Patty was fresh and not some Sysco premade patty. Also I got tater tots which were fried in peanut oil and didn't have the residual oil taste like some fried foods have. good spot for Medford !

Delicious burgers I loved this place! The owners were outside interacting with each and every customer. The owner Janet was a doll and took the time to know a little bit about us and waived us down as we were leaving to see if we enjoyed our food. If I'd be a local I would definitely be a regular at Jaspers!

If you are ever in Medford: you MUST go here. Friendly service and great burgers. But what I really love about the burgers is that there are SO MANY options. Even Portland does not a offer a burger joint anything like this. Ever had a Himalayan Antelope burger? I didn't think so. Seriously, the amount of meats and number of off-the-wall ingredients here is staggering. I don't know what Portland has against non-beef-chicken-pork-fish-shellfish meats, but they are quite hard to find in a place that considers itself a diverse food mecca. I was in Medford for work, for a couple months, I had almost every type of meat they offer. All were excellent. Great place to sit outside at during the summer too, soak up that sweet, sexy, Southern Oregon air! If you're really boring and just want a classic, boring cheeseburger, they do those too! No worries Gramps!

Very interesting burgers but very yummy!!!! The fries and shakes are good too! After going to Jaspers a few times I kept wondering how the Jiffy burger would taste so I finally ordered it. It is my favorite burger ever! The only bummer part is the restaurant is so small and hard to find seating. I really wish they had more than one location!!!!

Very good burger.. The burger selection was awesome.. And you can get any combination of all the 40 burgers that you want.. Not that is really your WAY. We tryed the famous burger that had peanut butter on it... Weird yes! But my buddy thought it was amazing.. I will try something different next time. Fries ok...

I think we may have ordered the wrong thing?? We didnt have the same experience as the other reviewers. We ordered: Popper burger: the jalapeno poppers tasted odd on the burger. The cream cheese was very overwhelming. Couldnt really taste much else. Fresh fries: Just alright. Not really seasoned and pretty greasy. Hotel California burger: was supposed to have avacado, arugala and goat cheese. Had a weird Asian sauce on it? (Like teriyaki mixed with soy?) The sauce mixed with the goat cheese was awful. Garden salad: very good! Fresh vegetables and tasty blue cheese dressing. Oreo shake: bomb. I would come back just for the shake. Service: Our waitress seemed really lost? She kept having to ask questions everytime we asked her something. She didnt really check on us....we kept having to stop someone else. The building is very small so you assume it is easy for your waitress to check on you a few times. She also had no idea about any of the beers or wines being served. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing? We will give this place another try at some point.

Best burgers you've ever tasted. Their menu is huge, so there's something for everyone. Decent prices for the quality of food. This is not fast food type burgers, this is GOURMET! Try the Jiffy Burger, you won't believe your tastebuds. The tater tots are wonderfully crispy and hot. I also like the sweet potato fries. They have the best malts I've had in YEARS, and I consider myself somewhat of a expert on shakes and malts. It can get crowded at times, but that's because we all know how good it is, and it's a fairly small building. I see the same workers each time I go, and they get to know your name, which is always nice. All in all, my favorite burger place in Southern Oregon!

First off, fantastic wait staff. We were greeted right away with a pleasant smile and friendly small talk. The owner was around and talking to guests, which is always a nice gesture. We were also in and out within 45 minutes, including a small 5 minute wait since we wanted to sit outside. Matt was our server and he did a fantastic job. Very personable! I personally like places where the menu isn't too extensive. Here the menu wasn't too long, or filled with an overwhelming amount of options. We aren't from the area so we asked for a recommendation. Matt told us his personal favorites and we decided to try two of them. I got the Johnny Ringo (I think that's what it was called), however I substituted a beef burger for their elk burger (they had elk, boar, beef, and bison). There were Fritos, pepper jack cheese, bacon, fried egg, jalapeños and grilled onion. Fan-freakin-tastic!!!! My boyfriend got the Southern, which had bacon, franks red hot, ranch, Gouda cheese, and fried onion straws. He loved his as well. Lastly, with this great food, they had a good selection of beers. Since we aren't from the area we wanted to try some "local" beers. Great choices. The owner and servers do a great job.

Great place to have a quick hamburger. Appears to be no employee turnover, people come to know your name, and that's if you go maybe once a week. Just nice, hard-working kids hustling to provide service. Any kind of hamburger you can possibly think of! Fairly priced for the amount of food, always piping hot. Rs

We found this place purely by chance, and I am SO glad we did! First of all, yes it was a hot day, but the picnic style atmosphere outside already was very welcoming once we pulled up. Our waitress, Brooke, was incredibly attentive and very nice. My boyfriend had a yak burger (who would have known it is so good!) and I had a regular burger. The garden salad I also got was very large and plentiful, and I really cannot say enough about how good the burger was. If we lived closer, this would be our go-to place. Just be sure to note that if you have a peanut allergy, they do fry their foods in peanut oil. Wonderful place, will visit when we are in Oregon again!!

I have to update my review because I have been there a few times for lunch. I work not too far away but I will discontinue going there for lunch when I m working. They just can't manage serving People who maybe on their work lunch. They are just too disorganized. Today I called ahead and still had to wait ten minutes to get someone to let me pay even though my food was ready. They handed me an empty cup to get my own ice tea after I was just standing there for ten minutes not knowing it wasn't ready. The waitress was unhelpful when I needed to get in the ice machine. Then when I get to the iced tea it's empty! These are not life altering issues, but frustrating none the less. I just left paying for a drink I never got because I had to get back. There were a lot of employees running around and some are just chatting. We love going for dinner when we have a lot of time, but never again when I'm on a schedule.

Duuuuude....this place isn't effing around. Totally gives me a stomach boner. You can use all the ketchup you want at no extra charge! Not like those Jews at Carl's Jr. When I was there I sat outside and got to see a car wreck! Would have been perfect but the girls at the table next to us were fat and unattractive

I was recently in Medford on business and if you've never been to Medford...you're not missing much! Well not much but these amazing burgers! With a wide range of delicious burgers topped with a just about any toppings you could think of, from jalapeño poppers, onion straws, french fries, coleslaw, varieties of cheeses, veggies and sauces you absolutely can't go wrong! Definitely a Triple-D worthy location on a road trip on your way to somewhere...anywhere but here really!

This is clearly a popular place. I might have had it on an off day. We waited a bit for a table. Our waitress was a total sweetheart and the service was great. I ordered the Jiffy with peanut butter, raspberry chipotle sauce and cheese. Unfortunately, my burger meat had an odd flavor to it. I ate half of it, then opted to stop.

My second visit, had the Widow maker with elk and no Bbq sauce. Darn it, it's almost gone or I'd take a picture!!! Delicious. The meat is soooo great tasting and fresh. Excellent smoked gouda, perfect bacon. Quality is what I wanted, Jasper's delivered! This is a fun place, even when they are busy, the staff are upbeat, helpful and efficient. I'll be sure to visit every time I come through Medford.

Traveling home and did not want the usual fast food, so I checked Yelp and decided to try this place. I was not disappointed. The place is small but was very busy the whole time. The food is amazing, the burger was juicy and very flavorful. I got the bacon and smoked Gouda which was very good. My son got the Teriyaki burger and he inhaled it. I will definitely be stopping here again when going through town.

While passing through Jaspers was the only burger joint on our radar. We'd heard good things from a local friend, and boy was he right. Outstanding burger. Good people. Good price. Nice outdoor seating... But the flies. Would definitely go again if in the area.

Most restaurant review are about the food. Yea Jasper's has some of the greatest burgers this side of heaven. Yea, their menu is creative and everything they serve is fresh and delicious. Yada, yada, yada - if you've read any of the other 200 plus reviews and you're not yet convinced the food is good, then nothing I can say will change your mind. What I'm here to talk about is their service. Jasper's crew is, bar none, the friendliest, most hospitable, service oriented group you're likely to find anywhere on the planet. These people love their work. You can see if in their faces. They are sincerely happy to serve you. Yes, the place is small. So what? If you need vast amounts of elbow room and a table to yourself then maybe you should stick to the corporate burger joints. Yes, sometimes you may have to wait more than 5 minutes for your fresh, hand-made burger. If you are in that much of a hurry, stick with McBurger-in-a-Box. My suggestion, take a walk on the wild side and treat yourself to a real meal at Jasper's. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Can I give this place 10 stars please?! My sister and I are here from central California visiting a friend who lives in Medford. When we got there we requested to sit outside but there were no open tables. They gave us menus and asked some men who had been there too long to move for us which was nice. Our server Matthew was so nice and funny! Even if the food sucked he would have made it an enjoyable experience. Luckily though the food and the service was outstanding! I ordered the garlic elk but I would eat anything on the menu. We will definitely be stopping here again next time we're in Oregon!

This place was packed so it's gotta be awesome. Welp I must have gotten the wrong burg. I tried to choose something on the healthier side which must've been my mistake, if you're coming here embrace the oil. My bun had the consistency of a doughnut and actually burnt my fingers when I went for my first bite. Now I understand that buffalo and elk burgers are leaner than beef but there's no reason the patty should be drier than the bun. That being said, I'd give this place another try and elect for a simpler burger.

My wife and I ate here for the first time today and probably ordered something really boring. We each had a regular cheeseburger and french fries and it was absolutely delicious, fresh and hot, cooked perfectly. The service was freaking outstanding, the wait staff would come outside and refill your drinks and even ask if you would like a to go cup. What a concept, good fresh food with outstanding service. Please come to Mount Shasta and open a second store.

Burgers and shakes were amazing. Sweet potato fries were also bomb. I took one star off for the amount of time it took to get water and menus. The place was packed and we were seated quickly outside but it took about 20 minutes to be acknowledged after sitting down. Once we had service, it was great. I would return again but not if I were in a hurry.

We plan on stopping here every time we pass though! Quick, affordable, delicious quality burgers with so many options! The staff was very friendly and gave our dog a doggy shake treat. A great place to come with your dog.

We went to Jaspers based on Yelp reviews and it was a great decision. The building is a bit odd, small, and in an odd location. When you enter the place it's a tiny little diner with 5 or 6 tables inside and another 5 or 6 outside. The floor is a bit greasy and the tables small. The menu is written on the wall in chalk or you can grab a menu at the counter. It seems really odd that such a small place has servers but it totally works. The customer service here is perfect!! Our server was beyond polite and made great recommendations. They know the menu well and are happy to go over it with you. He also made sure to note my name and used it a few times. Just made it feel comfortable. Ok, on to the food. 1. Doc Holliday burger - This thing was a huge mess of a burger that was absolutely awesome!! I added an egg to it to make it just that much more ridiculous but I highly recommend. Meat was cooked perfectly, bun was toasted just a bit, and toppings were flavorful. 2. Beer Battered Onion Rings - Um, yup, great. 3. Mushroom Burger - Again, meat was seasoned well and burger was delicious 4. Shakes - Daughter had the Cherry and Wife had the Root Beer. They were think enough to eat with a spoon but then finish with a straw. Overall I love this place and highly recommend. Great burgers and fantastic customer service. One con and seriously the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars....off brand ketchup. It's a pet peeve of mine but if you don't mind it, then hey, it's five stars all the way!

I have yet to have something from here that I did not thoroughly enjoy. Though personally I feel I should give them one star so you guys don't go taken up all the seats. This place can get packed around normal meal times, especially Saturday and Sunday, so expect to share a table if its only one or two of you. The staff is very attentive, and do listen to customers and read the suggestion cards. They are currently in the works on a new goat cheese burger per many customer requests. Now the food... I don't even know the purpose of writing here... you just have to try it. You won't find it disappointing. There's 1/3 burgers, little burgers, gourmet burgers, extreme gourmet, antelope, elk, bison, pulled pork, duck, used to have rabbit, kangaroo.... all of them I've had... yummmm The Genghis Khan has been my favorite I think thus far. 1/3 Antelope burger, potstickers, sriracha, sweet and sour, and cream cheese!

My wife, son and I stopped here on a drive from Portland to Sacramento. I had the "Santa Fe Black Bean Burger," and it was, quite possibly, the best burger I've ever had. The service was great too. I hope to come back again someday.

I can't say much for the size of the establishment or the outside seating filled with bugs and windy conditions but the burgers here kick ass. I like the gourmet variety and the traditional burger choices they offer. Their malts and shakes are plentiful and sinful also. Lots of choices to add a notch on your belt! I had the Boar BQ, a wild boar burger. Man, that was good! My bro liked his Elk burger also. The poppers are amazing!!!! I was disappointed with the traditional fries though. You can pass on them, trust me! Definitely get a malt. They allow you to mix them up also. I like that! I just got a Kahlua malt though but next time I'll miss the berries up. Good find! Worth a stop if you're in Medford or passing by.

Food is always great but the server with nasty hickeys on his neck and another employee throwing his cigarette butt on the ground behind the building kind of put a damper on our experience.

For years I heard people raving about this place and telling me how I needed to try it, and for some inexplicable reason I didn't until very recently. Oh what my life has been missing! They take burgers to a whole new level. Every topping you can imagine (and some I would have never thought of!) with a surprising variety of meat. Last week I tried a buffalo burger, with actual buffalo! I didn't even know you could eat buffalo anymore! And it was incredibly delicious. This is my new favorite place to eat, regular burgers just won't cut it anymore!

  • Chancel N.

Burgers here I had were all great! I had two, one was widowmaker, and the other was jasperado. This was my first time here. The only thing I didn't like was my sweet potato fries were soggy, I'm used to having a thinner cut and crispy sweet potato fries.

Food was good but service just plain lousy. Were seated at 1pm, ordered drinks and they came immediately. Then we waited 20 minutes and finally asked if we could order lunch. Another 10 minutes and we ordered. Food came at 2pm. Then we had to ask for check. We finally paid and left at 2:30. Keep in mind this is a fast order burger restaurant.

Loved loved! I loved this restaurant! We stopped on our way down back to Cali. It was great. First I want to start by saying that I appreciate the cleanliness. Although it was super busy the whole while time we were there, the employees were quick to clean up the tables around us and get us seated. I got a buckaroo 1/4 pound classic cheese burger small fries and a peanut butter oreo shake! Try it!!!! It was very rich and interesting. I thought the price was great! The taste was fantastic! Only bad part was the wait which was about an hour to get a table and our food. Other than that, I would definitely go back.

Wow! These burgers are amazing! There are so many options to choose from that I'll have to schedule another dozen trips to get a handle on the variety. Today I had the Ghengis Khan. It was supposed to be antelope, but they were out so I had elk. Then it has pork potstickers on top with a sweet chile sauce and a chile mayo. There's also some carmelized onions on there. I can't get over how bizarre I thought it was on the menu and how tough I thought it would be to eat. Man, was I wrong... The flavor was great and the potstickers stayed on the bun as easy as an onion ring would. All in all, it was fantastic! My only gripe and the reason I didn't give 5 stars was that the burger was a bit overdone. It might be due to it being elk, but I thought it dried it out a little.

BEST cheeseburger I've ever had!! The service is good, it's always packed because hello, it's delicious. I like sitting outside on the picnic tables when I go.. Anyone who likes a good burger, get over there you won't regret it!

Omg what an amazing place. All of the burgers are off the wall, with unique toppings. They even offer natural grass fed options, as well as elk, and bison. It was hard to decide what one to order. The service was great, our waitress made us laugh a bunch. I cannot wait to go back to try different things on the menu. I would go on a road trip to Medford just to eat here.

I tried to go there my first time today but got kicked out of my table to seat people that arrived after us. My son and I arrived before my wife and sat at an empty table perusing the menu. The manager asked us if we were waiting for a to go order and I told him no we are waiting to order. He asked us to get up to move the table I said no we're fine and said he needed to move it to the sun. We compiled and he moved the table to seat the two women that had just showed up. I didn't flip out even though I was shaking (and still am) because I am so furious. My wife arrived and since our table was gone I didn't get to try the food. I do not believe I will go back and am curious if any one has ever tried the kangaroo burger? It would have been fun to try something new but when a one legged guy gets kicked out of his chair for two blonds......well I did not loose it and just wrote what happened before we went someplace else :(

The family and I were driving up to Portland for the weekend to a cheer comp and we yelped places to eat and this came up with 4.6 stars. When we sat down to eat, the waitress was beyond incredibly nice and super friendly. They serve your regular burger joint menu, or so you think. They serve ALL kinds of burgers with different game meats as burgers and you can choose your meat. Anything you get here is not wrong. From the fries to the burgers to the shakes. I would eat anything off this menu. I ordered the Jiffy burger(peanut butter, raspberry chipotle jam, provolone cheese and bacon, right?!?!?!), wife got the Hawaiian Cowboy(like a bbq burger with cheese, onion rings, bacon and pinapple slices) If you're traveling through Medford and have a chance to stop, please do. You WILL NOT be disappointed by any means.

Frequent visitor... This place is legit! (I don't give 5 yelp stars normally or use exclamation marks on most reviews) But this is the best burger joint between Eugene and Redding and possibly even beyond... The burger combinations look outrageous on the menu, but more often then not when you sink your teeth into these tasty burgers, it makes sense... The staff is cool and the prices are on point... The only draw back is it has a small indoor dining area, which sucks if your craving Jaspers and it happens to be raining and the diningroom is packed... Not a big deal in the spring or summer time because they have a good amount of outdoor seating... A word of advice, try something crazy right off the bat, like the Jiffy burger... Just jump right into the deep end of the pool and enjoy what Jaspers does best!

  • Matt B.

This is the best burger joint in Medford. Nothing fancy about the building, but their insane selection of burger meet is unrivaled (Ostrich? Elk? Yup). Their fries are great, too. On top of all that the milk shakes are fantastic and they have a ridiculous selection of flavors. You might not want to plan on eating here, as it is tiny, but the food is totally worth the drive for a to go order. Highest recommendation.

  • Alana C.

A long wait but definitely worth it! Best burgers around. There is not enough seating for the crowds of people lined up outside. I think an expansion is in order. The owner works there too and is very friendly. Reasonably priced but I wish the burgers came with a side.

Jaspers' burgers are big, juicy and pretty awesome. There's a long list to choose from and they're open to your being creative to add/substitute things. You can sit inside or out -- we sat out under the pergola in comfortable shade, even though it was a very hot day. The passing traffic is noisy. The service is jovial and excellent. A random burger choice will give you an opportunity to roll the dice and cut your burger's cost in half if you throw a seven. A kid at the table next to us could not choose from the many burger choices so he got to spin the wheel of fortune -- a choice you supposedly can't back out of. He got chef's choice. We'll be back and will probably choose to sit inside next time.

Jaspers is to Medford what Hodad's is to San Diego....seriously awesome burgers, a small unassuming storefront, and lots and lots of devoted hungry fans! And just like Hodad's in SD, Jaspers has completely won me over and left me dreaming about my next stop here! I found Jasper's based on all the wonderful Yelp reviews, and I'm happy to say they were spot-on! Stopped here for lunch the other day at around 1pm, and they were still hopping from the lunch rush (will most likely come back next time around 2pm to avoid the rush). We were inside scanning the menu, and one of the servers came over and let us know there was an empty table....she literally saved us!! Without her I don't think we would have gotten a table, as it was still rather busy....so to the waitress with the cute pixie cut, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :-) She was awesome, such a sweet, attentive server, in fact pretty much everyone I saw there working was great, fast, happy, and attentive! Good job, Jasper's staff! Once we got our table, it took us a while to scan the menu....sweet Jesus, so many choices! All sorts of burgers, beef, antelope, elk, kangaroo....all with wonderful toppings as well! I decided on the Garlic Elk burger, and my mom got the Fiesta Burger, and we shared an order of onion rings. The Garlic Elk was AMAZING!!! Cooked perfectly, and not game-y but had excellent flavor! And the garlic mayo and blue cheese....heaven!! Even comes with a pickle spear! My mom loved her burger as well, and when we were done we dug into the onion rings....once again, heaven! They were those great kind where you bite into them and they stay intact, I HATE it when the onion pulls out of the fried part when you bite into it. None of those crappy onion rings here! Just fried perfection, complete with ranch and fry sauce! We THOROUGHLY enjoyed our meal here, and can't wait to be back for more! The food, 5 star, the place, 5 star, the service, 5 star...there's a reason why everyone flocks here, its because its amazing, that's why! Give Jasper's a try and you will definitely leave a happy camper!

Jasper's is the burger place for Medford, OR. Always make it a goal to come to this burger joint at least once a week while up in OR. The staff are always friendly and remember us every time. The best part of their burgers is the meat - SO JUICY. Always order the fry sauce with your tots/fries/sweet potato fries. Very nice!

I had been here before, about 10 years back, and I didn't remember the burgers being this good. I think they have improved their menu. I had a burger and fries. The fries were nothing to brag about. Not horrible fries, not outstanding, just average fries. The burger on the other hand was worth going back for a repeat very soon. It was a bit crowded on the weekend, but I can understand

What a find! We just pulled off the freeway and found a highly rated burger joint on yelp. I had the blue grit burger. It featured mushrooms cooked in steak sauce as well as blue cheese and crispy onion strings. These were unique toppings that complimented but did not overshadow a juicy and flavorful burger patty. The bun was very soft but held up in my hand with the pile of toppings. This is a top shelf burger joint!

Stop here! These are the best burgers in town. I had extremely high expectations going into the first time of eating here and it was way better than I thought it would be. The waiter gave great advise. Try something that you wouldn't think you would normally get. You will not be disappointed.

Was passing by Medford on our way to Portland when we got hungry. We wanted a burger but we thought we'd try a local spot. Jasper's had close to 5 stars and we saw all the variety of burgers they had, so we gave it a shot! It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. They have Elk, Buffalo, Antelope, Venison, Kangaroo, Boar, and Lamb burgers. And of course regular and grass-fed beef if you want to keep it simple. So many choices! The cool thing in their menu is that you could substitute the kind of meat for any burger you'd like for no cost. That way it has only the ingredients you'd like. I kept it simple and went with the Western Burger and substituted the regular beef patty for Buffalo. Food came out fast. All of our burgers were delicious. Ended up ordering a second burger to go halves with my dad since he liked it so much lol. Buffalo has a bit stronger taste to it, but less than Elk. Elk definitely had a lot stronger taste to it. My brother had Kangaroo and they said it was the leanest of all cuts. Not much flavor to it though, so make sure you top it with a couple ingredients. To conclude, prices were great, service was awesome, and food was delicious. Our waitress answered all of our questions we had with a smile. Including what different types of meats tasted like. We will definitely be stopping by here every time we're going through Oregon. 5 stars!

In the summer, a bed & breakfast in Ashland can run you just shy of three bills a night. So it makes sense to stay in Medford, considerably cheaper, about fifteen minutes away from Ashland, and a big, ugly, gray, tedious sprawl of a place. While in Medford, go to Jaspers. I am 49 in a month, and Jaspers features the best burgers I've ever eaten in my life.

All around goodness, from staff to food. It's a small gem in Medford. Keep it up, Jaspers!

This place was pretty great, the reviews were right. Be prepared! The space inside is quite small, only 4-5 tables. There are plenty of outside tables though and the servers go outside to serve as well. It was sprinkling so it we waiting less than 5 minutes for an inside table. However, the burgers are awesome! I had the blue cheese, w/ mushrooms and crispy onions. It was super delicious. I also had to have a chocolate shake which was yummy! The staff are very friendly and we were served right away. I will be going there again next time I'm in town!

  • Kyle M.

It's okay. It's not terrible. Certainly edible. "Meh" is probably the best one-word description of Jaspers' burgers. I hear so much hype and I simply do not understand why. Their best menu item is their tacos -- and I think that sums it up. There's a problem when the best item at a burger joint is their taco.

Wow! Great burger joint in Medford! Awesome service too! We came in on a chilly wet October afternoon to sit inside, but the tables were full. The host immediately made us feel comfortable and offered us a drink while we waited for a table to free up. Great place, great food, great people! Can't wait to come back!

  • Bill L.

Great food as everyone else attests too so won't belabor that. Physical ambiance? Not really - call it very small & cozy inside (there are more tables outside weather permitting) - but the wait staff is simply wonderful, prices great, and food ample in quantity. Probably THE best burger joint in the region!

  • Mike S.

I don't do very many 5 star reviews as I don't think most places are just that good. But this place is 6 stars if there were such a thing. If you like burgers, fries and shakes this is your place. Bonus if you like great friendly service and an overall good time. This place rocks it all. So many burger choices. And exotic games meats as well. I ordered the Blue Grit when I found out this one their burger choice for their "gambler's board special" meaning I got to roll two dice and when it came up as a 7 I got half price off the burger. How fun. They have outdoor seating too so we were able to take our dogs that we were traveling with and they gave them frozen dog treats. It was a great meal with great people on our travels. It will be a regular stop when I get to Medford.

Loved this place when I was a meat-eater!! They have so many aweaome unique options to try. Its fun to get a group of people together and each order a different burger to pass around. Cant go wrong with the jiffy burger. Their 2 veg patty options are lacking. Obviously it isnt what they specialize in but I was hoping when I made the change to a meatless diet id still be able to enjoy the various burgers id loved so much before. Not the case. They have the best service in town. Its rare to see an owner getting down and dirty with his staff and thats exactly what this guy does. Its inspiring.

Diamond in the rough, and by rough I mean deliciously gorgeous. I reserve my phantom 5-star for the rare treat of having something edibly incredible in it's category & extra-effort overly accommodating service. Jaspers surprised me the minute I walked in the door. The owner greeted us like a friend over for lunch not a passing customer. His crew continued that delivery over the course of our meal asking what we like and guiding us to a delicious meal. Beer was provided & a sweet spicy exotic antelope burger was devoured. The owner told us about the meat/game options & how he is always exploring new bun delights. Ate: Antelope Burger - spicy sweet, avocado, Sweet potato fries - special sauce, good pairing Drank: Beer / Porter

STOP HERE! Just do it! Oh my gosh! First time here, stopped in for lunch stop on our road trip back to CA. There are so many good things to say!!.... First of all, these are handcrafted delicious gourmet burgers. And they are so so good! The use local products A lot of stuff there is organic They have all types of wild game burgers available, not just beef They have grass fed no hormone beef patties THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE BUNS - and they weren't Udi's but they were actually BETTER! Wow! Friendly service Small and crowded, but duh... That's because they are serving such amazing food HANDS DOWN - BEST SWEET POTATO FRIES I HAVE EVER HAD! - they were thick cut, super crispy on the outside, but soft inside. I had the Jiffy. This burger has peanut butter, raspberry chipotle sauce, and bacon. This isn't the first time I've heard of peanut butter on a burger, but it is the first time I have tried it... I wish the raspberry chipotle sauce was a lot spicier, I would have liked that. But it was still so fantastic! Very juicy. Very messy. There was a lot going on under that bun. We will stop here each and every time we drive to Washington and back from now on. I would go out of my way to eat here,... Although it is not out of the way at all, but I would be willing to... It's that good.

Stopped by here after hearing they have great burgers. The building looks older and unimpressive as you drive up, but I can live with that. The place itself is very small, only 5 tables inside and a handful more outside. There was a line to place to-go orders (if you sit at a table they wait on you). There were no tables so we decided to get our food to-go. The service was super-friendly and attentive, I really liked everyone we interacted with. It was very, very busy and we waiting at least 30 minutes for our food. They brought our drink and milkshake (got a coconut shake, it was delicious! I can't wait to try another flavor next time!). And they offered to bring our food to our car since we ordered to-go. I ordered the Bleu Grit - a beef burger with mushrooms sauteed in steak sauce, onion crisps, blue cheese and ranch. It was fantastic. I think the onion crisps were just french's fried onions like you would put on a casserole, but the burger was still great. The burger was cooked pretty well done, but it was still juicy not dry and I liked it. My husband ordered a buffalo burger, he also liked it and ate every bite. Again, a little well done but not bad, just should have been a little rarer. He also ordered sweet potato fries. They were fresh, thick cut and cooked perfectly. I tried a bite and thought they were well made, but I don't like sweet potatoes. We will definitely come here again and try other things....they have kangaroo, antelope, buffalo, grass fed beef, hot dogs and a huge selection of shakes.

They have great customer service, took our order at the table. Chocolate shake was thick and very delicious. Garlic Elk burger was flavorful and huge! The onion rings were amazing! For everything you get, the price is competitive to others! We had so much left over to take home! Only thing, the place is so small that between the staff, other customers, and phone going off you can barely have a conversation with your party because it's so loud.

That was the best burger I've ever had. The buffalo bill was outstanding (pepper jack, avocado) The fries and the sweet potato fries were amazing.

Best burgers, ever. Great service too, location could stand to be a bit larger but I think that's also part of the magic. Not a fan of sitting next to the road, from a safety perspective that is sketchy. Only a matter of time until someone in an 85 IROC (t-tops off) comes slidin sideways out of the dive bar across the way pumping Bon Jovi after slamming one too many tall-boy Busch Lights and ends up on the lawn of Jaspers.

I was very disappointed with the service on Friday, May 1. I called approximately an hour ahead of time and asked whether they could make five hamburgers for me to pick up by 11:40-11:45. I needed them cut in half and ready to go by then so that I could arrive on time at the rest home for their lunchtime celebration of my husband's birthday. The girl that answered the phone checked and then told me that they could do it. I arrived at 11:40 to pay. It was after 12:10 by the time that it was ready. They totally forgot the milkshake and I had to return for it. When I finally arrived at the rest home, we opened the burgers that were not even marked so we couldn't tell which one was what. The burgers were not cut in half. They did not include any of the sauces the girl promised to include. It was a huge order and a lot of money for not doing what they promised to do. If I had known that they would be unable to provide the food as requested and on time, I would have gone elsewhere, which I will have to do from now on. I was very unhappy since the party of gentlemen thought that I wasn't coming and they had eaten their institutional food by the time that I arrived. Obviously, they weren't hungry anymore, but tried to eat some of the food as a goodwill gesture to celebrate my husband's birthday. What a big disappointment! Thanks for ruining his birthday.

My favorite burger place in Oregon! Huge variety and many different burgers. Jiffy burger really is amazing and the sweet potato fires are delicious. Highly recommended but almost always packed to plan accordingly.

Absolutely one of the BEST burgers I've had ever!! Had the Boar BQ and it was amazing. Chatted at length with Ron about the river and he was a plethora of info. Table sharing is a must at busy time but what a great way to meet new people. What a fun and delicious experience.

I've been here at least a dozen times, and every time the food has been nothing short of delicious. My parents aren't as adventurous as I, they stick to the classic cheeseburger, but they often say, "Other burgers just don't do it when you've had Jasper's." For myself, I like to try their more gourmet options. The Hawaiian Cowboy is my go-to, but I can comfortably recommend the Widowmaker, the Jiffy, the Genghis Khan, and any special they may offer at the time. In short, this place is worth your patronage.

I got the buffalo burger and it was absolutely delicious! I ate the whole thing in literally a few minutes! So delicious! The owner even came up and spoke with us about how our meal was! We told him excellent because it is truly the best burger in Medford / Oregon!

I had the widowmaker, but substituted for elk meat. Best burger I've ever had. While extremely messy, the burger itself had amazing flavor. Each of the ingredients had their own distinct flavor, yet combined with & complimented the others flawlessly. Bring an appetite, as these burgers are quite large & filling. I also ate their sweet potato fries, which were amazing. Crispy on the outside, but still soft & warm inside. I'll definitely be eating at Jasper's again soon.

Loco Verde burger was amaizing! Also i had passion fruit& raspberry milkshake, which was one of the best in the group! Atmosphere was very friendly and ee didn't have to wait too long for our food. Considering that we were a large group. Also it was later at night, so there were less people there.

Best Burger I've ever had! (Butch Cassidy Burger) Small, quant place that's always busy....You can grab a table inside or outside, one of their awesome waiters will be by soon. Or if you don't want to stay, hop inside and grab your order togo...Either way you will not wait long no matter how packed it looks. Shakes also are amazing! Onion rings are delish, but the sweet potato fries were a tad underdone for my liking, (but the rest of my group loved them). You're crazy not to stop here if you're in Medford! Will definitely be back :)

There has always been a lot of hype about Jaspers and every time I drive past it, the place is packed! My husband loves the place so I decided to give it a try one day and the two of us went to lunch. As a vegetarian, I wasn't so thrilled. It's a small little restaurant that is packed to the brim and people spill out the doors. The entire place reeks of meat cooking and they cooked my veggie patty on the same grill and it soaked up all that animal fat. I was not thrilled and I did not eat most of my burger. If you are a meat eater, you may like the place but as a vegetarian, there are many better vegan/ vegetarian-friendly options.

This truly is the place to find "gourmet burgers with attitude"! I rent rooms or my home out to travelers on my sites through Airbnb. People always ask where a good place to eat is, that is NOT a chain. I get people from all over the world, of all walks of life. I had a delightful family with me from San Francisco, and one of their sight seeing days on their vacation was a break from Crater Lake, to drive over to Ashland and Medford. Later that night I got a text from the lady asking if I had ever eaten at Jasper's in Medford, and I said no I had not, was it good? Well she raved about it, saying it's the best burger joint ever, but not only gormet burgers, but also unique sandwiches, salads, sweet potatoe and regular fries, onion rings and she said the tater tots are to die for, and so are their amazing milkshakes! Well she had my mouth watering just listening to her! So, I had a break in my schedule yesterday, and decided drive over to Medford, only an hour and a half from my home in Klamath Falls, to do some shopping, & I found a real treasure at Jasper's! Very easy to find. Private parking lot. It is a very small, intimate, unique Ma & Pa type of place, with inside seating, but also lots of tables outside on the grass under umbrellas. I walked up and was immediately greeted by a very friendly waitress who took me right to a table, the only empty one left at 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. She quickly gave me a menu and water. When she came back and asked if I'd chosen yet, I said, "Wow, this is a HUGE choice, so many delicious sounding entrees! She sat down next to me and said, "Tell me what you like and I'll help you choose." Seriously? It was like she instantly became my best friend. I told her I wasn't ready to try an Elk or Wild Boar burger, and didn't want just a deli type sandwich and that I have salad everyday at home for dinner, so wanted a burger. I can't even begin to list all the different choices of gourmet burgers available! "We" finally decided on the California Burger which was 1/3 lb of ground beef, a layer of baby spinach leaves, thick slices of ripe avocado, grilled carmelized onions on top and sprinkled with Feta cheese. It was at least 4" high! Even though they were very busy, the order came right out quickly with my beer battered deep fried onion rings, cooked to a golden perfection! Since I was driving back home last night, I didn't want a beer or wine, so I chose the best milkshake I have ever had in my life. Blackberry, and a sweet young man brought it out to me, and presented it as if it was my birthday, complete with spoon, b/c it was so thick, topped with whipped cream and a straw for when it started to melt down. My waitress checked on me many times to make sure everything was ok, and if I needed anything else. My plan was to eat 1/2 and take other 1/2 home for later. Ha! I'm afraid I have to admit that I ate every bite, every crumb and every drop of that milkshake. I was stuffed, needless to say, but very pleased. I felt the service was super so when presented with the bill that was ONLY $14.00 for ALL of that, that truly could have fed 2 people... I gave her a larger than normal tip. As I was leaving at least 4 of the employees smiled, said goodbye and thanked me for coming! So, obviously, I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for the best burger and milkshake you have ever had, served by the most friendly and helpful staff ever!

Up visiting my brother and Mom. Another old friend of the family asked a good place to have a burger. My brother Dan who is Sous Chef at the Rogue Regency in medford told us about Jaspers cafe. John the owner is really awesome the service was great and when we got home with all the burgers and fries they were all full of everything and all kinds of choices of meats including Elk, Bison and so many more. And sooo good. Recommended to everyone who wanted a good burger good price and the make them better than any place.

  • Toni C.

Simply the best burgers in Medford OR! The owner is usually there engaging in conversations with his guests. Good prices, plenty of menu options. Kinda cozy, room-wise, but worth the wait for an inside or shared table. If you get a chance, GO!

  • Jenn W.

Fantastic!!! Don't let the size fool you, BIG flavor coming out of this burger spot. Service was amazing, and great to see staff as passionate about the food as the chef. Will definitely be back!!

This place has got it going on! The burgers melt in your mouth, and this is coming from a Bay Area food snob. Seriously though, the meat is so fresh and juicy. They also have lots of game burgers like antelope, kangaroo and elk. I had the blue grit, topped with mushrooms, blue cheese, crispy onions and steak sauce. Mm, mmm! Happy eating!

  • I T.

We waited 20 minutes after ordering for two burgers and a basket of fries. They ran out of iced tea....who does that when it's free refills?? I can't understand what all the hype is about this place....but be "where all the cool people go"...or why/how they keep getting "Best Burger" every year.

    (2)
  • Leigh F.

Mmmmm delicious burgers made from almost any meat you can imagine. I had the antelope burger patty on my ganghis burger... It was sooo good! They even have duck burgers? What? Can't wait to try that. I really liked how quick the service was and how quickly they prepared our food. Our server Matt took care of us and was super friendly even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing. Thanks you guys!

this place is ridiculously good! we were greeted before we even got in the door. on entering another person greeted us and helped to clear out a table so we could sit down after placing our order. the guy taking our order was nice and friendly as well. i was blown away by the size of the menu. the variety of burgers (from the type of meat to the type of topping) was astounding. i had a really hard time choosing and when i did, they had no problem swapping out elk meat for regular old cow. my burger fully filled the bun and they did not skimp on toppings. there was blue cheese dripping down its sides! seriously, this is the best burger i have had in a long time! we're talking perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth good! the garlic mayo, grilled onions and blue cheese blended so well. i couldn't put the burger down and only stopped taking bites to enjoy my chocolate malt. if i lived in medford, i would go here once a week. freaking amazing!!!

Not much more to say that hasn't already been said. This place rocks! Probably the best burgers I've ever had. Be ready to wait because it's always busy but it is totally worth it. Staff is friendly and professional. Kitchen is fairly quick given it's size which is not much bigger than a closet and the steady stream of customers. If you haven't tried it yet you're missing out.

Best burger period. The prices are amazing the choices are amazing oh and grass fed Kobe beef. Nuff said(:

Soooo good. The burgers have a fresh flavor and the fresh cut fries are to die for!! My husband and I both had the bacon burger (it's our first time here, playing it safe) and shared a large order of fries. Our meal was so filling. Great prices, great environment, amazing staff!!! This may be our new burger spot.

Best burgers in the Rogue Valley. They really should consider expanding however, their small building and outside benches are always crowded

Jaspers has been around since I was a kid and it just keeps getting better and better. I live in Portland now, but still try to make it to Jasper's every time I'm in Meddy. The Burgers are simply amazing, the dogs are great and the sides or phenomenal. I highly recommend a visit to this quaint little place. Very Friendly staff. GAJ

Great Burgers and the Tots were to die for. We were from out of town and looking for an outdoor eating place so we could have our dog with us. They had a nice grassy area and the owner brought us a treat for the dog. Thank you.

  • Jane K.

The burger choices are nice, the burger, OK just not great, what was disturbing was the shitty attitude that flows throughout the place, bottom line, besides the bad attitude the burgers aren't good enough to get me back, I can make a grass fed 1/2 pound CHAR-BURGER, yes I said CHARBROILED burger at home with whatever I want on the damn thing, a great burger is char-broiled not cooked in it's own grease on a flat top griddle, griddles are for hot cakes people not burgers, THINK ABOUT IT.

  • Mary Lou D.

I have visited Jasper's on 2 occasions. The first time I thought it was OK, they were really busy, so I forgave a few imperfections. The second time was the proof in the pudding. The burgers were fair, greasy and lack luster. The fries were way under cooked. I won't be back.

    (2)
  • Phil P.

I love their Kobi burger. If you're looking for a good burger Joint, then this is the place to go!!

    (5)
  • Marissa B.

What I thought was a wide variety of awesome burgers sadly dwindled to that of a few select burgers on Jasper's menu. The Buffalo Bill, in my opinion, is still the best burger offered, but I just can't find any others that rock my world. The continue for the ultimate burger in the area continues...

    (4)
  • Jared T.

Yes sir this is a good place to have a burger and shake. The burger was tasty and fresh. The fries were crisp and not too greasy. The owner was present and greeting and thanking customers. He has a real sincere personality and it felt like he was truly glad we came. There isn't a lot of seating, but they encourage people to share the small tables, which is a refreshing change for a world with so many personal bubbles. The menu is HUGE, which makes deciding a little tough.

    (4)
  • John H.

Fries are horrible the crinkle cut frozen type, everything else is top notch. If the fries were real I would give them five stars. If you eat at a hamburger joint the fries make or break the meal and these definitely broke it. Not just the fries but everyone working there had an unhappy vibe - the service isn't as great as everyone posts.

Best chocolate shake in town. Big burger selection.

Just got done having lunch here with my boyfriend while running errands in Medford. I had the Jiffy burger- delish! He had a bacon burger. We shared a small order of tots. Burgers were great! I highly recommend the Jiffy- the combination of the bacon, peanut butter and the raspberry chipotle sauce made for a messy, but yummy lunch. Service was great as well. Fast, friendly, and efficient staff. We will definitely be back.

    (4)
  • Belinda F.

This place is ALWAYS packed so I've never ate here in all the years they've been around until recently. I decided to try the Jiffy Burger. I wasn't sure what to expect...peanut butter on a burger?? When I saw that it came with a raspberry chipotle sauce, something about the two just seemed like it would be a good combo. So, with some coaxing from the waitress ( who said I would NOT be disappointed ) I decided to try it. Yep. So. Dang. Good. Huge portions though so you may want to share...or not & just have a friend roll you back to the car. Definitely worth the stop, wishing I would've stopped sooner.

So many choices, from the toppings to the kind of meat you want your burger made from! I got a third-pound burger and sweet potato fries, and it was more than I could eat. This was my first visit; I'll definitely be back. If you're in the mood for a regular old burger and fries, or an upscale gourmet bison or venison, or kangaroo (!!) burger, or anything in between, this is the place. The dining room is small, and was packed at the time I was there -- a very good sign. It's also clear that people sit outside when the weather is suitable; the yard, the picnic benches and tables and chairs are attractive and interesting and well thought out for outdoor dining. Also be prepared to "share your table," as the signs say. ***Update, September 15, 2015. I've been back to Jaspers a number of times since originally posting this review, and have had nothing but excellent experiences since then. They even remember my name now! Incredible! I almost always get the sweet potato fries and their "sweet potato fry sauce" which is kinda like thousand island dressing, and a burger in one of their many variations. Love the fact that I can order a "free range" burger here, and the toppings are always wonderful and fresh. Just give me avocado, bleu cheese, some lettuce and a tomato...that works for me. I've eaten inside, and outside, and given the fact that the place is always swamped, no matter what time of the day or day of the week you go there, the service is helpful and attentive. Maybe a bit forgetful, so you might have to ask twice -- that's the only thing I've ever found to complain about. I LOVE their chocolate malt.

  • Ryan K.

The owner greeted us and found us a table in the crowded little place. There are more tables outside than inside. It's popular with locals and travelers make a point to stop in as well. I had a kangaroo burger with gouda and bacon with a side of their "trail sauce." It was a very good burger. You can customize your burger if you ask. The trail sauce is a sweet whiskey barbecue sauce. I recommend it. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries which were pretty good, but made from frozen potatoes, as are their normal french fries. After a conversation with the owner about it, he brought some of their "fresh cut fries." They don't advertise them, but if you ask especially for fresh cut fries they'll slice a potato and fry them on the spot for you. Excellent. I asked for no lettuce tomato or onion and ended up having to take it off myself. Otherwise the service was great. I'll be back.

While working in Medford for two weeks we found the coolest burger place. Friendly staff, interesting menu. Fast paced, but not hurried. Burgers any way imaginable, including kangaroo, buffalo, elk, lamb, wild boar and antelope. Daily specials from tacos to French Dip with fries and drink for $5. Fast service. Small place, so if you want to sit inside, best to get there before noon. They serve beer, though haven't sampled that yet. Been there twice and will go back, soon I hope! You can call in your order too.

Always love their burgers, and they have a great selection. Only thing that could be improved is the space. It's very small especially when busy.

Best place in town for burgers, hot dogs, and tater tots/fries. They are always fast, super friendly, and their shakes are thick and decadent!! One of our absolute favorite treats!

Easily the best burger ive had in the Rogue Valley. Try the Jasperado or the Doc Holiday if you want something spicy yet delicious!

Neat little place in hoppin' Medford, OR. They are very dog friendly and even gave our pooch an ice cream treat. We froze outside in a nice covered patio area. Their service was quick. We got milk shakes (amazing-fyi they let you mix flavors), burgers (pretty basic, nothing to rave about), sweet potato fries (yum! crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside-could have used more seasoning though), and onion rings (light on the batter-delicious).

  • Jay P.

My family and I came here and was blown away. The place is small, but you can eat outside on the grass and tables. The food is cooked well and the service is great too! They also have loads of crazy and interesting burgers.

  • Kiauna H.

The best ever!!!! Love their kangaroo burgers. I havent tried their milkshakes yet but i hear they are awesome. Their fry sauce is fantastic. The service is great. They are popular so if you go at lunch time then yes it will be crowded.

  • Aud V.

The burgers are incredibly delicious, the service impeccable, prices reasonable and the staff is friendly and were helpful in helping me make a decision. The menu is extensive, including various wild game meats! I'm not an adventurous eater, but I was VERY happy with the Bleu Burger. I felt guilty finishing that bad boy, but hey! It is a very popular spot and inside seating is limited, but worth the stop if travelling through Oregon!

  • Chas F.

This place is nuts!! Too packed and not big enough! Totally put me on edge! But the food was good had the Jalapeño burger with Cole slaw. My friend had the Classic burger and my other friendTurkey hot dog. No complaints on the cuisine. Just the facility.

Place kicks ass.. burgers made from all kinds of dead animal.. from Kangaroo, bison, antelope, and emu. Very Casual.. I the only kind of dead animal they were missing were the Dodo, the Spotted Owl Chiptole, and the Dolphin Cheese steak.

Best burgers in Medford so far. I haven't been able to find another burger places that tops this one. By far better quality than any other place around. One negative aspect would be the wait time, they can get pretty busy and can take some time for your order but overall it's fantastic!!!!!

    (4)
  • Jane P.

The burgers and service was great! Seating is limited but they try to accommodate. Would recommend stopping by if you have a chance.

  • Arden A.

There is an incredible amount of variety on the menu for a burger place. They have many different to type of meats that they creatively combine with many different toppings. The three specialty burgers that I have had were all great. The staff they was extremely friendly and helped us with or selection. This place is always packed but it is worth a wait.

    (5)
  • Jim C.

If you want a great burger with more options then this is the place. It was a delicious burger with solid fries and shake. This place has vegetables, sweet potato fries, better salad options, etc than most burger joints. They also have many different burger options. While the burger is outstanding, I'm a bit of a traditionalist and that is why I reserve my 5 stars for a more meat-and-potatoes-guy burger. Still this place is so good and deserves the patronage of any one looking for a great burger meal.

  • John P.

Here for lunch. Just ordered and sat down. It is crazy in here. Super busy, seems like a real deal burger joint. Anticipating a great burger. We'll see.... Burger came. It's awesome, although my family's order is delayed. As is my fries. Everything's here. Family agrees, everything is dynamite. Ate my whole double burger, free ranger, grass fed. Fry orders are huge, FYI. Absolutely top notch burger joint.

    (5)
  • Dunes B.

Small burger joint in an odd location but the food is awesome!! They have just a handful of tables indoors in a cowboy sort of ambiance inside for eating in. Their burger menu is extensive and hard to make a decision on each time I go! You can order a simple burger or go wild with one of their many specialty ones. I plan to try most every burger on the menu....eventually! Shakes for dessert at the end if you have room left in your tummy! Yum!

  • Lisa D.

Wow!!! I found this place on yelp traveling back home to Oregon from Shasta Lake. It was so yummy! I had the popper burger and the meat was so juicy and flavorful. I needed two paper towels to contain the juiciness. The prices were incredibly reasonable. Between the great food and great prices and a small building, seating was at a premium. But that didn't stop people from waiting. I highly recommend this place!

    (5)
  • Kevin C.

Fantastic burgers (try the wild boar), greasy shakes, craft beers and friendly service...what more could you ask for on a southern Oregon roadtrip?

  • Kali H.

Seriously delicious! Every time we go it's always busy which can say enough for itself! I love this tiny little burger spot. The flavor is amazing, and they have a lot of choices! The fries are super fresh and flavorful. The owner has greeted us multiple times and is always very friendly! We go there when we're in town and up for burgers.

Delicious. Great service. Lots of variety and a passion about burgers that is tangible. Fun little joint. Very close quarters. Share a table with someone you don't know!

  • Jon R.

Food was great. Service was excellent. I'm sure all the locals already know it's good, but everyone going through Medford on I-5 need to know to stop here instead of fast food. It's one of those places that should be featured on Diners Drive-ins & Dives.

  • Lori O.

Had lunch there today and have to say I was very impressed with both the food and the service. The caprese burger was delicious. The hamburger was juicy and cooked perfectly. My only suggestion would be a bun that matches the quality of the burger. Something from a local bakery maybe? Will definitely be back for more.

    Best banana milkshakes around!

    (5)
  • Amanda G.

It makes me so sad having to give them two stars because they have potential to have great product . Unfortunately their staff seems very scattered and does not care and the consistency is not there everytime I go on my food is different even though I order the same thing. I feel they tacked on a couple extra dollars to now have people wait on you which also doesn't work and it inconvenient. The fries were good but the last 4 times seem to be done in dirty grease they taste terrible my tater tots fell apart because they were not thoroughly cooked and we're freezer burned. They have potential to be the best burger in town but I do not think I will go back it is very expensive and never consistent and just not that good

Excellent burgers, great customer service. The only thing I would change is a bigger dining area, but aside from that it was an amazing experience.

One word, AMAZING! The food is awesome, my hubby and I shared the Buffalo burger and my daughter had a bacon cheese burger, we shared a small fresh fry and a chocolate shake and we all walked out stuffed! They have a huge variety of burgers and meats to choose from, even kangaroo! A must if you happen to be in Medford and loves burgers as much as my family does!

Jaspers has the best burgers in Southern Oregon hands down. You can taste and see the attention to detail, great selection of burgers and I would suggest jaspers to anyone is coming through the Southern Oregon!

I went to Jaspers today and ate a cheeseburger. It was good because I liked eating a cheeseburger. I had onion rings and barbeque sauce on my burger. Our servers name was Steven. What a bumbler. 3/10 stars. It had the graphics but no gameplay.

  • Yo M.

Thanks God for Jasper's! We just moved here and Medford is *ahem* lacking in the restaurant department. Jasper's is bucking the trend with their flavorful & creative burgers (would you like that in beef, bison, or kangaroo?), yummy fries, & killer shakes. I'm not even a huge burger person but I'll go back to try them all. Give them a chance and you'll fall in love with the deliciousness! *No kangaroos were harmed in the writing of this review.

    (5)
  • John B.

Jaspe's doesn't just do beef burgers. I had a duck burger. DUCK BURGER. Never in my life have I heard of such a thing. It was pretty fatty but not like you were eating a stick of butter. The waiter/cashier guy was super friendly. I don't know what it is about the air up in the Pacific Northwest but you all are some lovely people. Oh yeah the fries were good too, but I'd double up and get another burger.

Oh Jaspers. Such potential. So many accolades, and oh, so so much hype. And oh, so completely undeserved. For the unfamiliar, Jaspers is crammed into a tiny, tiny building. Their dining space is equally as small, and their kitchen can't possibly be more than a 10x4 space. And the place is packed full of people, so if you're the claustrophobic type, forget it. The entire time we were there, the line was at least 3-4 people deep, and often times longer. Given that, I appreciated that an employee was taking orders and prodding indecisive patrons into logical menu choices as they stood in line waiting to pay -- nothing more annoying than having someone stand there picking his nose trying to decide between a small fries or a large fries. But given the aforementioned lack of space, the line was often rubbing their butts onto your back as you tried to enjoy your meal. It was 45 minutes total from the moment I first stood in line to the point our food was delivered. I don't know that there's many places I'd tolerate that long of a wait to eat. We're regulars at Pine State in the PDX, and the wait is never that long. Nor is at Roscoe's in LA. Or San Tung in SF. There were just as many people at the Grill 'Em All truck, and we were served in less than 20 minutes. And guess what -- their burgers were exponentially better and certainly worth the wait. And it's the food truck factor why I won't cut Jaspers any slack. Food trucks are utilizing just as little kitchen space, yet they're consistently more efficient at getting orders out. I mean really dudes. Almost an hour to serve fast food burgers? Get out of here with that nonsense! What's too bad is the food is actually pretty decent. I appreciate that it was fresh beef and not frozen. And while they did go a little overboard on the yellow mustard, it was still seasoned pretty well. It's a decent burger -- typical mom & pop burger joint fare. And let's not forget these are greaseball patties that are cooked on a flat-top, and not char-grilled. But let's get real dudes. This is Medford. "Best of Medford" of course means essentially mediocre, but the poor neglected folks here just don't know any better. Sure, they've got some "gourmet" varieties here, but it's nothing that's worth waiting through the ridiculous lines. It's a firm, "meh, I've had better." Check it out. But the hype falls way short.

Yummy, wow what unique burgers. The milkshake was amazing too. I had the ghengis khan burger with the sweet chilli sauce and dumplings. I have to admit i was a bit skeptical but it was a very interesting mix of flavors and textures all in one.

I have never given a 5 star review on yelp, but this place deserves it. These succulent burgers drip with flavor, the buns are perfect (not too cooked, not too doughy) the bacon is thick and crunchy-all in all-the perfect burger. If I could sum this all up into two words they would be "EAT HERE"!!!!

Just finished one of the best burger I've had. Crazy packed place, five tables, huge menu... Lots of homemade shakes and really good service.

Holy cow, don't walk but run to get to this restaurant. The burgers are to die for and the fresh fries are awesome. We chose the fresh fries over the frozen kind because you can taste the potato, otherwise all you get is crispy blah. The price is so right and you will not be disappointed at all. One warning, this is a pretty small place so you may have to wait for a table, but don't let that deter you, it is worth the wait.

So I get the great fan reactions and it is a great little local joint... for sure. But it's not nirvana. There is plenty that is creative here. All kinds of Gourmet Burgers to sample. Fries and such are great if they are right out of the fryer (once or twice i was disappointed in cold fries). But for my money it's not as juicy and mind blowing as it could be. Burgers tend to be over cooked and I get this is a health issue so everything's cooked to death but this makes for a dry burger. The burger also lacks seasoning... as in ... I don't think there is any. ANd the Bun could be treated to a little something like a grilling. All said and done it's a great place for families and a much healthier burger than you'll get at a nasty fast food place... but it'll cost you too. Burger Fries and coke is about $11-

Due to terrible weather I had to make a stop at...MEDFORD...OREGON...wasn't planning on that but better safe than sorry. I was hungry so I quickly yelped and found this place with favorable reviews. It's small, but don't let that fool you, it packs a good punch. It tasted homemade, which for me being on the road all day, I needed it. I ordered the Western Burger with a side of slaw. The hero here was the BBQ sauce that they spread on the burger. It was very tasty. It also had bacon and a little bit of onion on a tasty beef patty (again homemade). The slaw was homemade and delicious. Being stuck in a place that is foreign to me, it was nice finding a good meal and good service. It's actually more than your average burger joint. They offer a variety of sides and shakes...if in Medford again, which will be NEVER (LOL JK) I'll be sure to stop here again. If passing through or if you live in the area pay this fine establishment a visit. You'll leave COMPLETELY satisfied.

There is nothing bad to say about Jasper's. The food is incredible and inventive. A peanut butter and jelly bacon cheeseburger? Who would have thought? I've never had anything there that I didn't like. The people there are some of the friendliest employees in town. This restaurant really knows how to treat its customers.

And now I've hooked my old man. Best place to get burgers in Souther Oregon. Maybe even all of Oregon, since I've determined that these burgers are the best I've ever had. If you can stomach the price tag and wait, you'll be very satisfied!

Great burgers, fun exotic menu. My husband had the Jasperado and loved it. I had the Reuben and I should have ordered something else. It was too light on the sauce and skimpy on the meat. Our banana peanut butter milkshake was the best thing ever.

Looking forward to going back to try something different, got the Western Burger to split with my girlfriend and I can't say it was the best burger I ever had. Seemed to be lacking in flavor. I personally love the addition of a pickle on the side with their burgers. The onion rings were awesome, some of the best I've had. I normally don't like "mushy" fries but now I'm a fan of theirs. The service was top notch, they truly have a great set of staff working for them. Can't wait to try their shakes next time I am there.

The Fiance and I FINALLY had some time, and the inclination, to make the trip down 99 and get some burgers from Medford's beloved Jasper's. Now, bear in mind, I've only been living here about a year and a half, and he's been here 7 months, so we have both experienced more "sophisticated" fare than we have had since moving here. I realize that there are very few places in this town that outsiders would qualify as "good food," and I have to say...Jasper's holds its own in that area. The Fiance got the Jalapeno burger; simple, self-explanatory, not a bad burger. He liked it a lot. He's a Five Guys guy, and for him, not much can compare to their burgers (or fries, for that matter). However, he stated that this was as close as he was going to get to a good jalapeno burger around here. That's a fairly high commendation lol. I had the MFD: standard lettuce, tomato, mustard and onion, perfectly-cooked, perfectly-portioned burger patty topped with cheese, bacon, tri-color pepperoncini (or peppercini, as they called them), and a delicious onion ring. To me, it was HEAVEN. Delicious. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I'm an In-N-Out girl, and this will be my stand-in until either I move, or In-N-Out gets off their ass and opens a restaurant here. But I digress... The Fiance dug the fries. I thought they were decent, but I tend to like my fries a bit crispier. It was nothing that would keep me from going back, though. Prices can seem a bit high, but also seem fair for the quality of the food. Both burgers, two small fountain drinks, and an order of fries with ranch and fry sauce (we split the fries) came up to roughly $19. Not cheap. The place is VERY small; I felt sorry for the people trying to eat in there. We got our order to go and waited in our car; they brought our order out to us about 15 minutes later. We ate in the car and I really don't recommend that; the burgers are way messy (as they should be, in some people's opinions...I'm a girl, I like stuff neat) and you need some room to properly enjoy them. I suggest one of the picnic tables, or eating at home. I could definitely see myself craving this place again, and I will be back. It's not a place I'd take the whole family, since it's pretty expensive as far as our budget goes, but for a date night or the occasional day alone? Yeah, I'd do it.

Jon and his crew are burger freaks-Holy burger selection! No wonder they have been voted best burgers in town for a few years in a row... Great burger alternatives like buffalo, boar and even alligator!!! Ever heard of peanut butter on a burger?... Pretty damn good if your feeling adventurous. I love trying new and/or weird things and Jaspers always fills that need.

I was totally surprised that this place was good! I went here on someone else's recommendation (I think they saw it in a AAA magazine) and was glad I did. Good burgers, fries, and milkshakes -- not too expensive -- and a TON of different types of burgers and sandwiches. For the adventurous, you can order antelope, kangaroo, or duck burgers, for the organic/green (like me), you can sub free-range beef for any burger. Service was prompt and friendly. Here's the thing, though, if you're going to Jaspers, be aware that it is a TINY dining room. I'm talking like five tables that seat four people. So, if you have a big group, or you're going during a busy period, plan to get your food to go or sit outside. They try and hustle people through and turn tables over quickly, but there's only so much they can do with such a small place. Great little burger joint -- I'll be back for sure!

So disappointed. We have been regulars from the beginning. Even had nicknames. But we couldn't go for awhile and when we were finally able we were so excited. Then we got there. Our burger joint was nowhere to be found. It was noon and hardly any customers. You can't just walk up, order then pay. You have to be seated then look at a menu and get a bill after. And the food tasted terrible. We each had our normal burgers and fries. And there was no flavor and the patties were cooked to death. One of them actually had a hard burnt crust on the bottom. It seemed like there were more staff then guests but no one was really doing anything and our order took forever. We were actually getting up to leave when out shakes, terrible, came. It's to bad that when things go great for years. And you are very successfully then you get in you mind that something had to change. It was GREAT and now it's just a roadside restaurant that serves burgers. To bad.

Great food, huge helpings, reasonable, friendly. The ONLY downside is the lack of comfort to eat it in. Inside is crowded, noisy and small. Outside is loud and along side hwy. 99.

How can you go wrong with a pace that serves a burger called the "Hotel California?" My husband and I just completed a 2 week road trip through Oregon & Washington and we ate at Jaspers twice! Both times I had the pleasure of ordering the Hotel California & hubby tried a different burger each time. All burgers were superb.... definitely not a fast food joint! We also shared a large sweet potato fry and were stuffed for under $20! I would recommend Jaspers to locals and tourists alike!

Decided to try this place based on a Yelp search. Wasn't Disappointed! :) Huge selection on burgers for any tastebuds. They had vegetarian options too. Great kids menu. Great prices. My burger (I had mushroom and cheese) was sooo good. $6! I had onion rings on the side which were delicious. Small place inside - not much seating. Great service though. I'd definitely go back!

Excellent burger! They have all kinds of wild game burgers on the menu in addition to regular cow burgers, which is awesome. I had the boar burger and it was outstanding. It was so delicious I ate the whole thing (usually I only make it about half way through a burger before I run out of room). For this burger I didn't care - I ate every last bit and then licked the BBQ sauce off my fingers. Messy and delicious. One note of caution: the place is tiny. Like 12-people-max tiny, and I'm not exaggerating. I would suggest the to-go method if you go at a time when more than 5 other people may also be hungry.

Great burger joint. One of the better you can find in in Southern Oregon. The most difficult decision about Jasper's is "What to Order?" With about 50 unique burgers to order the decision is tough, once that decision has been made you must decide, fries, sweet potato fries to tater tots, all freshly cut and made. My favorite burger is the Jiffy,a burger with bacon, raspberry chipotle and peanut butter... It's a small place that doesn't seat many, customers are encouraged to make new friends and share tables, on a nice day there is lots of outside seating, but these burgers are worth eating in the rain. Cost is higher than your normal fast food place, but this is not not fast food its great burgers done fast. Burger, fries and drink will set you back 10 bucks, but it's a better burger than Red Robin at about the same cost.

Really a disappointment. Was told this place had good burgers and thought I would try. Burgers are either bland or drenched in salt... Either way.. Not tasty or flavorful. Service is Ok. I prefer Barney's or Burger Spot.. Better taste and cleaner burger. While you can offer a fair amount of choices on a menu, that can't replace good taste.

My girlfriend and i were just driving through on our way to Portland and found this place using the reviews we saw and it was perfect. The owner was super friendly and the burgers were to die for. We had the flyin buffalo and bleu grit, highly recommend this as a lunch stop for anyone else passing through or if you're lucky enough to live nearby.

Very small place. Lady was extremely rude when we tried to get a seat she grabbed my son and told him that seat was being held for a person. Even if they do have good food service is everything.

We raced in here at ten minutes to closing time, and we were cheerfully greeted and served wonderful buffalo burgers within a few minutes. As hungry travelers not too familiar with Medford, we left Jasper's satisfied and happy, vowing to come back. Best burger I've had in a long time!

This would be a 5 star, but cripes, why are you closed at 6 PM? This is by far my favorite burger joint, anywhere. I live 1 day of driving away in Seattle. I drove all the way from Fresno to Medford in one day, for the sole purpose of eating here. I rode into town just before 7 PM, drove there from memory, and it was "closed". Come on, everybody eats dinner before 6? Sheesh. I slept in at the Rodeway, waited until 11 and had the Fiesta Burger for Lunch. YUMMMY. Made it back to Seattle before it was too dark. Can't wait for my next road trip through medford. Gotta work on my timing.

The variety of different burgers alone is worth 3 stars. Add the fact that u can substitute elk meat on any burger (delicious) and they serve a 1lb burger and you have a one of a kind burger joint.

The place is pretty well kept up, it's small, offers outdoor and indoor seating. My Western bacon burger tasted pretty good. Side salad was a bit wilted and overall just OK - nothing special. They have a huge variety of burger options to satisfy every taste, and even offer sweet potato fries.
