Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

We love the food and the service is great. The owners are very nice people, I have known them for about seven years.

Love the food selection. Vegetables were very fresh. Price is right. Definitely coming back

looking for Thai soup on a cold winter day. are regularThai spot was closed so gave the wok a try. we ordered the spring roll to begin. Very good taste using the peanut sausage. I ordered the war won ton soup, great taste, large bowl full of veggies, shrimp and pork with a ton of won tons. the waitress was very friendly, outgoing and very helpful explaining the soup entrees. looking forward to our next visit. the Japanese dishes looked awesome. see you next time.

Just so you are all aware, whenever I think about the meals I've had at this place my stomach starts to turn and I literally feel like I'm going to vomit. It gave me THAT bad of food poisoning. I feel sick just being on their yelp page. VOM

we'd been traveling all day and after getting to the hotel, we didn't want to have to drive to get dinner. we could have walked across the parking lot but had diner food for lunch, so I searched yelp for a place to deliver!! golden wok delivered food to us at the hotel within the hour! we had a salad, spring rolls, rice and moo goo gai pan. all very tasty and fresh. the only problem was with the menu on yelp. picture beside spring rolls showed them fresh, rolled in rice paper, but they are actually fried and that's what was delivered (not fresh). Anyway, such a convenient, tasty meal.

Went for the Vietnamese. Mistake. Left a full bowl of pho because I just couldn't eat more than a few bites. Broth did not taste good and the beef just wasn't right. Golden Wok should find one cuisine they do well and stick with that.

Lots of spices used, rangoons a little fried but maybe it's a regional thing. They used real crab in them. Quiet nice little place. $8 delivery charge because they go through a delivery service. Could use bigger portions of rice on the side- not bad.

I like this place... The food is usually pretty good, even though the menu is huge and full of all types of Asian cuisine... The food is already pretty good but If they scaled back the menu to about half the size it is now, they would really kill it on the food... The service is always super friendly and genuine and I appreciate the fact that they remember you and always have a smile for the customers... The dining room is old but always clean and quiet...

Hands down this is the best Chinese food in the valley. Their Pho is amazing, better than what we have had when we lived in Portland. So glad to have found this place. It is a friendly atmosphere, prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic. If you are a Pho connoisseur, try the Super Bowl. You wont regret it.

Did not enjoy our meal at all, left 95% of it on the plate. Food was not fresh and it is clear vegetables were used interchangeably in various dishes only to stretch their use to reduce leftovers. How else to explain the cuts of stir fried beef (often used in beef and broccoli) ended up in the pho dish? The pho broth was passable at best. I'm Vietnamese and know good pho, and unfortunately this wasn't it. Should have listened to the reviews. Spring rolls were wrapped fresh but ingredients were not fresh, the noodles tasted old. It's clear there was one shrimp sliced into three pieces for each roll, wow, that's kinda miserly when you're charging about $5 for two rolls. Husband's kung pao chicken was sad, no flavor and looked like some basic stir fry with chopped vegetables (peas, carrots, baby corn, celery, onion) and he had to hunt to find the chicken. The fried rice was bland. His hot and sour soup was bad. Very gelatinous (too much thickener) and looked like it was mixture of egg flower soup with vinegar. No flavor but the vinegar. Also served with saltines which is just weird. The fortune cookies at the end were unwrapped and starting to go stale. We won't be returning.

I love this food, and I love the service here. I've been back so many times that they know who I am. Their fried tofu is DELICIOUS!

Good restaurant. Amazing selection of food. The Pho items are one of my favorites, as well as the light eater's menu since i can't really eat that much in one sitting. The soup doesn't seem that fresh though; it's not as hot as I'd like it to be. Also, the rice can sometimes be a bit hard and overcooked. The atmosphere is great and they also have a bar so that's a plus.

My husband and I travelled from Portland to Los Angeles and stopped for a quick dinner. We were skeptical about the food based on the reviews. But we both liked the food we ordered, especially the vegetable Lo Mian. Great service as well!

Golden Wok is our "go to" restaurant for Chinese takeout. The menu is extensive and we can always count on a good meal and excellent service. We order takeout at least once or twice a month' and we've never been disappointed. While the Golden Wok is no where near the quality of the best restaurants of San Francisco's Chinatown, it's one of the best in the Rogue Valley

4 stars for the best pho in Southern Oregon and super friendly service from Daphne.

This may sound harsh, but if you value your taste buds, stomach, or GI system, just say a resounding, "NO". It's true we were on the road back to PDX from Berkeley. It is also true that we eat very well, whether at home, with friends in their homes, or out & about. But, that being said, we are not snobs. It's just unfortunate that we allowed our blood sugar levels to sink so hideously low that we settled for Golden Wok. I hope you will not do the same. There was absolutely nothing tasty on any of the 5 items ordered, the place looks like an abandoned IHOP, the waitress is good-natured, but decidedly not the sharpest tool in the shed. Let's just call it a day & say that we will not be stopping for food in Medford again.

I was very disappointed I gave this place 3 tries. The Chinese food was extremely oily. The Thia food was poorly seasoned, and the Vietnamese? well it was just awful pork chops where grilled to the consistency of shoe leather and served with scrambled eggs which was odd. I also ordered an order of Vietnamese spring rolls that were poorly rolled, small, with a minimum of filling (in order to keep the price to a minimum I assume) They have a better spring roll at Fred Meyer. In short all the dishes had a minimum of proteins, were poorly seasoned and greasy. I also thought $2.25 for 10oz glass of Pepsi was a bit much. Probably how they are keeping the entree price so low? (That, and a minimum of meat.) All three visits there was only one other customer in the establishment that should have been my first clue. They probably should have picked one cuisine and stuck to that. Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese are three radically different cuisines but the golden wok has made them all taste the same. I don't imagine they will be there long.

Tasty food an really good service at a reasonable price. I will stop here again on my way through this area.

We went there based on other yelp reviews. I have lived in this area for almost 4 years having come from LA. Yes, there are NO good restaurants in So. Oregon. They have no clue what sushi is, Mex is hideous, maybe you can find good hamburgers, but that's it. As for the Golden Wok, the place was cavernous and empty but the extremely talkative waitress convinced us tp stay. We ordered the Pho which she raved about (she raved about all the food) and it was virtually tasteless. Then we had cashew chicken, fried rice, and spring rolls. and mar far chicken (balls of fried dough with some chicken). Most of the food was tasteless and we had to load it with soy sauce. Yes, the portions were generous, but I didn't want to eat the leftovers. Also, we didn't need to hear the waitress' biography. So, still looking for good Chinese in the valley.

i live in sf so i'm pretty snobby when it comes to asian food. i can't comment on the rest of the menu, but my husband and I both had the chicken pho and it hit the spot. the chicken was actually the best i've had- it's usually really fatty which i don't like... but here, it was meaty and white and just good. the owner/waitress was very attentive, friendly and the prices were amazing.

While this restaurant is in the same place as the failed Chi-Vi, this is a different restaurant with new owners. The restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised - the pho was decent enough to come back for. The only thing I would change is they leave the fat and gristle on the eye of round, which makes it difficult to eat, and it would be nice to have jalapenos instead of bell peppers included in the condiments. Otherwise pretty good! P.S. The broth has been hit or miss, you may need to ask for a side of fish sauce. 2/7/11: Okay, the last 2-3 times I've eaten here, the pho has been almost inedible. No flavor in the broth whatsoever. The place seems busy (I'm guessing for the Chinese food), but the quality of the pho has gone down since their first month re-opened. I've resorted to making my own again. If you've ever eaten at Pho Hung or Luc Lac in Portland, you'll know what a good bowl of pho tastes like.

This place is gross. I just had "Hot and sour" soup. Yeah the only taste it has is that it is hot. Phad thai is supposed to be spicy. This is sweet. Another thing. I got crackers with my soup.... At an Asian restaurant

Puked all the way home. The food was so bad that after two bites....just to make sure, all four of us pushed our plates away. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Don't waste your money and please check other reviews. We were on the road and just popped in so I had not checked the reviews. Understand that there were four of us with four different dishes and they were simply horrible. How do you mess up white rice? You don't serve it fresh and make sure its good and dry...I guess. I mean really? The rice was even bad! After complaining to management we were told that no one had ever complained and that they prepared their food with love. What kind of response is that for an unhappy customer. We paid half the bill but were told that wouldn't cover their expense. The nerve of them....we really ate nothing AND did I mention the horrible stench near the kitchen when we used the restroom to wash our hands? This place is a joke and the health dept should be notified. Don't bother going here...stay home and open a can of soup....it'll be much more enjoyable than this place. Oh, and yes...two of the four in our party puked on the way home.

Way improved over ChiVi., with friendly waitstaff and a new menu. The new owner also owns Ma's in Central Point ( yelp.com/biz/mas-chinese… ). The place serves Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai food with the focus on the Chinese. There's not a lot of the latter two cuisines. But I had a bowl of pho and it was as big a bowl as I've seen anywhere. Lots of ingredients. The broth was a bit thin and lacking in the full authentic pho flavors, but was still quite tasty, with the addition of a bit of sriracha. I do wish they'd expand the Viet and Thai menus a bit but I enjoyed the pho and figure to return to this restaurant.

Let's face it, Asian restaurants in So. OR are horrid to bearable. Golden Wok has been trying very hard to find its identity... First as ChiV then something else and now, Golden Wok. The Pho arrived with no basil and none available. The Chinese food is overly oily and overly breaded. Everything comes with way too many vegetables (no matter what you order you get the same veg) and those in search of anything vaguely authentic Chinese best pass on this place.

We were traveling through from Silicon Valley, and we really enjoyed this restaurant. We had mostly Chinese food (+ Viet spring rolls, which they call "Sumer Rolls"). We found the food very good but not great, portions large, and prices reasonable. Mostly, however, we enjoyed the friendliness of the waitress (Michelle Yeh(??), who we suspect was the owner). Overall, this would become a favorite family restaurant for us if we lived in the Medford area, and we will likely eat there again when we next pass through.

Was visiting family and had a pho craving. Passed by golden wok and saw the sign for Vietnamese food. Being from San Diego and Houston, I tried not to have high expectations no matter how bad I wanted pho. Decor and staff were very welcoming. We were greeted and seated immediately. It was great that this restaurant was trying to diversify but....... The pho came out hot but cooled too quickly. Temp was not nearly where it should be. It should be scalding hot when served so it can cook the sprouts. The meat was generous but the steak was sliced a bit thick. It was served rare and the soup didn't quite finish the cooking process. The broth itself was watery. To be honest it tasted like they took a cup of pho broth and added two parts water. The restaurant did have the most amazing crab rangoons. Go for the rangoons, not the pho.

I highly recommend the Thai pan fried noodles with tofu. This place has really friendly staff and great lunch combo prices. Portion sizes are also fairly large. Too bad I've never seen more then 5 customers in the store at any given time because I want this place to stick around!!
