Consistently good, but pricey for what you get.

Great food. Make a reservation.

Consistently great food & service!
(4)Brian P.
Great food!! Great ambience!! Service was good and decent wine selection.
(5)Ted W.
I had the Pad Thai. It was good, but not the best I've ever had.

First off, you have to have reservations to get in which I'm not a fan of. My first time was not a very good experience. Waitress was very friendly but our food was not delivered on a timely matter as it should be. Salad came with the meals. Meals were not served together. One of our guests had to wait about 10 minutes while the other 3 were served in at the same time. Food overall was good. After hearing all the hype..I'm not so sure I'll go back.
(1)Jessica D.
I just love this place. The crispy fish is something I always come back to. The prices are fair and the service is wonderful. Can't wait to go back.
(5)Liz B.
Wow, this place is pretentious! Don't get me wrong, it seems like a great place to grab drinks with coworkers... but that's it. The food was awful. The chef likes to "experiment", I guess. None of it was any good, lukewarm, bland, or weird flavors. The Pad Thai was bizarre - wrong noodles, wrong sauce. But the reason I would give them ZERO stars if I could is this - on their website they specifically say they cater to food allergies and requests. My son has a life threatening peanut allergy. I told the waitress this as soon as she greeted us. She assured me none of the meals we ordered contained peanuts. When the food was delivered (by someone else) I asked again if there were any peanuts and explained about the allergy. He didn't know. He spent five minutes checking, came back and told me one of the dipping sauces had crushed peanuts in it. no apology, no offer to remove it, nothing. Just walked away. Atrocious behavior. Will never return or recommend based on that alone. It helps that the overpriced food sucked anyway.

It's my special occasion to place. Love their dim sum appetizer, and always end up having salmon in the curry sauce. Fantastic! A little bit pricey but oh so worth it!
(5)Nathan B.
Excellent choice for a great meal! Arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation. Was told there could be up to a 40min wait. Host took our number so he could call us sooner if he had a cancellation. Within 5 minutes we had a call. Once seated our server Diane was there in just moments to serve us with a smile.
(5)Stacy L.
Favorite place to eat in Medford. I sit at the bar and watch them cook the food. It is a flurry of activity. The Dim Sum plate is my favorite!!!! The steamed bun is the bbq and the rest of it....so good. I can't NOT get it when I come.
(5)Rocky R.
Bambu has consistently been great. From the attentive service to the outstanding food, Bambu gets 5-stars every time. When friends from out-of-town ask for a recommendation, I always tell them to go to Bambu. Their feedback has always been the same as mine: great!
(5)Mark W.
Way overpriced for mediocre food. You can get much better tai food in town for half the price. The pad tai (made with extra thin noodles?) was flavorless except for being drenched in soy sauce and the tofu was bland and rubbery. I couldn't finish it. We came for a special experience and left feeling ripped off. We won't be back.
(2)Chuck R.
Don't bother trying to walk in. Open for 5 minutes on a Saturday with zero customers "sorry we are full can't help you"
(1)Erin M.
Didn't get to eat tonight. The hostess turned away our party of 5 even though there was no one in the restaurant and could have sat us. It was 530 on a Saturday night they had just opened for dinner at 5. Don't think we will be going back :(
(1)Michelle M.
I have attempted to patronize this restaurant 3 times for lunch and they are always closed! How does a restaurant in Medford stay in business if it is always closed. Sufficed to say I will not attempt to drive over here a 4th time.
(1)Linda J.
Wow so good!!! Highly recommend! The green beans in sherry peanut sauce with prawns are amazing! The curry is excellent!
(5)Soup L.
Um.. this is Medford, Oregon, not Beverly Hills, California! Apparently "drop in's" aren't welcome here anymore. Showed up with my family on a Saturday evening, like we've done in the past.. Reservations only? New policy? The hostess (rudely) asked us if we had a reservation. We didn't and were turned away immediately without a second thought. "You need to make a reservation, we're fully booked." Which was a joke since the place was empty. There were 2 tables seated inside, and the patio was empty which I pointed out to her. "Sorry." Well, I'm sorry this place took a turn for the worse in terms of service. I remember it being a nice place to dine, but they clearly think they are some exclusive dining experience now - ha! Make a reservation if you dare, or skip the hassle and enjoy a better dining experience at the local Red Lobster.. that's what we did.
(1)Stefa B.
We had tried this place a few years ago and Loved it . Went a second time and felt like a red headed step child. After sufficient time had gone by for us to forget a less than exciting experience we went again last night. We made reservations and knew it would be better this time, they even knew we were coming! When we walked in the restaurant the hostess station was deserted and we did not see anyone for a few minutes. The shabbily dresses hostess finally showed up offering us water of all things instead of seating us in a the less than crowded restaurant. She told us the people where leaving and when our table was finally ready we noticed that no one had left! We were finally seated in the middle of the the room which is very uncomfortable and hoped our location would improve the responsiveness of the staff. The second hostess seemed much better when she noticed an empty table next to us and offered a move to a table suitable for dinners that include many plates. For more than 20 minutes we were walked by and ignored. We did not even get eye contact from a single server in the restaurant. There seemed to be more staff than customers. And we still had not been offered a chance to make a drink order. When the server finally arrived I was flabbergasted when she said she would be back soon instead of offering us any service! We did not see her again for 10 minutes. We finally got our order in and thought we were going to get this dinner on track. Not so! Again after waiting far to long we grabbed the second hostess and told her we still did not have drinks and she went and started them. I noticed our server saw her and thanked her since she had obviously forgotten. I know this is a lot to happen even before the dinner came. The dinner was adequate with mostly fish as choices. The tables are to small for the oversize plates they use trying to make you think the portions are much larger than they are. There is nothing unique or special about the food. We never saw the waitress again until she brought our ticket. We were handled by a bus boy that left his personality at home. We were never asked if we were happy with our meal, our drinks were never refreshed and we sat for 10 minutes stacking our own dirty dishes hoping someone would notice we were ready to leave. We spent 100.00 dollars for 2 and did not even order alcohol or dessert. The restaurant is worn, dark and dingy and showing signs of use with lack of attention to detail. There are far too may eateries that deserve my money to ever go back to this place. It's time management took a hard look at their reviews, menu, staff, and restaurant if they hope to keep a clientele worth keeping!
(2)Terri M.
Bambu has a fantastic menu, good service and good food. The only draw back--it can be crowded, and there's no full bar, only beer and wine. The ambiance is nice and it's a great place to have dinner. I see they have outside dining for the nicer weather, so that may help with the crowding on the inside.
(5)Hua L.
Decent but not authentic Thai food. Small portion. Good service. The mango cheese cake was superb, which changed my rating from 3 stars to 4.
(4)diane z.
My friend recommended this place and I finally went because my favorite restaurant was closed. I travel for business. The only reason I'm giving this restaurant two stars is because it has some charm in the decor. Otherwise I'm really not sure why there's a line out the door for this place on a Monday night. First of all the service was awful I came in with no reservation but say at the bar , nobody could figure out who would serve me Ffinally , I had a waiter who came over and gave me a huge list of specials . This made me question the place right off the bat. I chose the arugula salad special with mango and the green beans with TOFu. I got the salad probably within 10 to 12 minutes which is fine. And then had to wait for my meal for 25 minutes and when it came it was not what I ordered it came with chicken. Let's talk about the food briefly, The salad was doused in dressing and sliced mangoes the green beans were drowned in a curry sauce. It looked like somebody just boiled the beans and dumped them in a bowl of curry sauce that's pre- prepared and then put some dry chicken breast pieces into it and then sprinkled the top with some crushed peanuts. Wow , chicken was under seasoned and in need of salt , but boy if I had to ask for salt , I may have been here until tomorrow, it took them 25 minutes to bring me the check after I asked for the first time was 15 and then 10 minutes when I asked for the second time. Sorry it's just really disappointing when your expectations are really high and when the restaurant is this pretentious to be high-class. I won't be coming back.

First the good stuff: excellent service, pleasantly decorated and easy parking. Bad stuff: very expensive for just okay food. The spring rolls get 3 stars, pad thai was weird tasting, with unusual pad thai noodles with an odd flavor: 2 stars and the country red curry with prawns 3 stars, but not worth $17.50. The prawns were not super fresh tasting and were meh. I would rather have authentic low brow thai food any day of the week over "Asian fusion" over priced odd tasting under spiced food.
(2)Tanner M.
After hearing how good this place has been for years my wife and I finally decided to try it. I was thoroughly disappointed. The food was very bland, even though the description sounded delicious. My wife got a chicken saute and there was barely any chicken and was mixed together with the cucumber salad it came with. We might try it again but maybe on a slower night so they have time to prepare our dishes adequately.
(2)Debbie F.
This place is amazing! I found it thanks to a friend that raved about it. I tried it on my last business trip to Medford so I knew where I was going for dinner this time around. The Cantonese salmon is simply amazing. I got it last time and could not risk trying anything else. Super flavorful and seems very healthy since it is served on a bed of steamed spinach and over some delicious broth. Lots of garlic too. I also tried the calamari and it was also, one of the best I've ever had. Big portion too, which was bad since I was alone. Service was excellent and the outdoor patio was lovely. Chris took excellent care of me. She was attentive and thoughtful. I will be back on my next trip south!

We were in town for a wedding and decided to look for Thai food in the area opened past 9pm. We love Thai food and have been to dozens of them in the OC/LA area. We decided to order for pick up and eat in our hotel 10 min away. Well, we made the mistake of not asking for the price over the phone nor look at the price online... Which we assume would just be around $10-$12 dishes like most of the Thai places we have been to. We just paid the bill without a thought because we were hungry and tired from a long 12hour drive... Which is our fault. The food was subpar... We ordered the pad Thai and red curry dishes . The pad Thai noodles were thin which intensified the flavor and made it highly salty, and the curry was okay. Im writing this review after looking closely at the price (again our fault) I'm fine with food that taste okay, nothing against it, but I'm not cool that the price set for it is more expensive than it should be for its taste. $16-$17 per dish is a bit toooo much! I've been to higher end Thai places in la/OC area that charge a few dollars less than that and they make very authentic delicious Thai food that teases your taste buds. If a restaurant is going to charge a high $$, they oughta make sure their food taste delicious and authentic, especially regarding the popular recognized Thai dishes like pad Thai or red curry. Lesson learned: ask for price and read reviews more thoroughly.

Super disappointed!! I had planned to get takeout but the phone experience was so poor I cancelled our order! First time I called, it rang and rang. Second time, a woman answered and then I was hung up on. Third time, a guy answered and took my order. I asked to sub rice noodles for wheat in a noodle dish and when he asked the chef the answer was no, which surprised me, but I went ahead and changed to a rice dish. Then he called back saying they were out of the fish I ordered and a different fish was replacing it. That was when I canceled the order. It's a shame, because Asian food had sounded so good!
(2)Nick N Parker S.
When the food is great it's amazing! When the food sucks it's very disappointing I think it's for a lack of trying on the chefs part maybe they're getting burnt out! I wish it was always good because I'd eat there a lot more!
(4)William C.
I have to say, I was skeptical because I am not an asian food kind of guy. We arrived and were seated right away with no reservation.....granted it was Wednesday. We ordered the tiger rolls and the special with 4 spring rolls. The tiger rolls were outstanding, the spring rolls didn't disappoint either and there was a soy mustard sauce that I could eat on anything. We ordered and my wife ordered the pad thai with shrimp and I ordered the crying tiger. I am not a pad thai eater so I didn't taste it, but the wife assured me it was excellent. My dish was a flank steak cooked to perfection with grilled onions and tomatoes, the sauce it came with, a lime, cilantro, garlic and maybe ginger, was excellent, but I couldn't resist going back to the soy mustard sauce. A bowl of jasmine rice was provided with our main course. I would highly recommend this place. Like I said, not a big asian food guy, but I would go here again anytime. Staff was pleasant, friendly and you could tell they liked the food they were serving. A definite add to the approved restraunt list.

This restaurant is one of the better ones in Medford as far as I'm concerned. The atmosphere is nice and the plating is done well. The food is tasty, but I wouldn't say it's authentic by any means. It's still good though and I'll still come back.
(4)Brady I.
I've been here multiple times and the food is great. That being said the service is the absolute worst. When you are in the restaurant plan on being there for a while and expect little positivity in any of the workers attitudes. Oh and just had the last experience when I tried to call for a to go order and got an attitude with 'We can't take any to go orders for at least an hour'
(3)Lyle H.
Excellent, well prepared and well priced. The lunch special I believe is dollar for dollar the best priced menu option in the Rogue Valley. You can't go wrong here. Service is good and professional.
(4)Cindy F.
I guess I don't really expect Medford to have any sort of "real" asian food but Bambu was good overall. I tried a couple thai dishes and they were fairly dead on with the exception of having a bit stronger coconut milk taste than regular thai restaurants back in California. For appetizers we had the coconut prawns, they were decent but slightly "over-fried" and turned out to be darker than expected. Then we had the coconut soup with chicken - the chicken was slightly over cooked/almost too firm against the silky/smooth coconut milk base. I had half pictured that the chicken would be more tender instead of tasting like how I would've cooked it on my own... For entrees, we had stir fry green bean with tofu as well as veggie curry with chicken. Both dishes went extremely well on rice with their thick cream based ingredients. Personally, I think this place is a bit pricey (even though I do want to try a few more dishes...) but again, we are in Medford and you can't complain too much for having decent asian food around.
(4)Leslie T.
This place is awesome. Food is full of flavor and you can taste the quality of their ingredients. It is busy so plan to make reservations. I cant wait till I can eat there again!!
(5)Doug P.
As I travel a lot on business I was pleased upon finding some solid Thai fusion down Medford way. The food was well prepared and the sauces excellent. As far as the food goes it's an easy 5 stars. I did find the service to be a bit lacking as I had to request my own sauces and refills. My waiter seemed rather over-caffeinated and surly on what appeared to be a calm night; though it didn't spoil my experience. Despite the lackluster service I am likely to dine here again when in Medford.
(4)Tuhin S.
Very good food. Fast service. Would definitely come back here.
(4)Michael K.
Well done overall. Servers should inform customers of price on specials, though. Up-selling is fine with full disclosure.
(3)Sandy B.
Love the food, everything I've tried is delicious, even the added touch of cucumber water! Excellent staff and service, classy, clean, comfortable, great meal specials, extensive wine list of only the best wines. Good for lunch too but better make reservations if you want to go. Always packed!
(5)Blue S.
Our favorite restaurant in southern oregon. Though we live in Ashland, we often diive the extra miles to come here for dinner. Usually, there are a few favorites on a menu, but here, every thing we've tried has been delicious.
(5)Jeff K.
I had dinner at this restaurant several years ago when it first opened and was not very impressed. However, a friend suggested we eat there tonight and it was wonderful. We had to wait about a half an hour for a table so I will call ahead for a reservation next time. I was going to order a prawn dish but our server suggested I try the lamb chops special and wow was she right. They were great. The service was excellent as well. I had forgotten about this place but I'm sure I will becomje a regular now.
(4)Jennifer D.
I eat at this place often. The service is fantastic, and all of the dishes I have tried are great. I have never had a reason to complain! I love Bambu.
(4)Marie Z.
Consistently good, but pricey for what you get.
(3)Heather T.
Bambu is a favorite for my husband and I. We love the crab cakes and crème brulee (best in town for sure!), and the Korean bbq beef, and spicy fish are excellent as well. The service is always wonderful, and although the wait time can be a bit long, the food is so great it is always worth it. Highly recommend!!
(5)Cee A.
For a Medford restaurant, I was pretty impressed with this place. It's just not the sort of thing I'd expect to find here, given how popular far less savory places such as Silver Dragon are. But boy, am I ever glad a restaurant like Bambu is around. It's Asian fusion, so it's not exactly the most authentic ethnic food around, but that's not why you're coming here. But it's still eons better than the doughy deep-fried mess over at Silver Dragon. I feel Bambu successfully accomplishes what places like Asian Grill attempt to do. I also appreciate the slightly more dressed-up feel of the place. It's not a formal dining restaurant, but at the same time. I don't expect some dude in waders and camo to come sauntering in either. The food is quite savory. We had a number of dishes, as we came in and both had three-item lunch specials (shortrib, teriyaki chicken skewer, potstickers) -- which were quite affordable at $10 each. As others have mentioned, it is a very small restaurant, so expect a wait if you come in during obvious busy hours. It's also not a huge space, so if you're a little claustrophobic, this may not be up your alley. Probably not the caliber of restaurant you'd think was four-star in Portland or San Francisco. If it were in a big city, it'd be a three, tops. But being this out-of-the-norm in Medford, and doing it well earns them the extra star.
(4)Shyla C.
The tiger rolls are a must! They were every bit as delicious as we had read about, if not more so...if that is even possible! The food and service is great. The staff at Bambu were there when we needed them, but not over our shoulders. Just the right amount of attentiveness. My husband had the crying tiger while I ate the pad thai with shrimp. Everything was very tasty. I also like that they offer you plates for sharing, the portion sizes of the meals could easily feed two or more. We sat outside while the sun was setting (which was beautiful). All around it was good food, and a nice ambiance as well.
(4)Patrick F.
Checked this place out because of good Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! The food was really tasty and the portions were big. You can get a good size meal and a beer for less then $20. And the service wasn't too shabby either. We had Jennifer as a server and she did an excellent job!
(5)Steve H.
My wife and I went here on a Tuesday evening hoping that no reservation was ok and we almost had to go somewhere else. They were packed. I advise a reservation no matter the day. Even though they were busy the wait staff did a great job. The ambiance is leaning towards a modernistic Asian feel. The food overall I would classify as Asian fusion. We started with the tiger roll and fried calamari. Both were excellent. My wife wasn't real hungry so she ordered a side of sauteed vegetables and I ordered a buckwheat noodle dish with Bok Choy. The dish was definitely a fusion but it worked well. When we come back to Medford this place is definitely worth another visit. Sitting at the bar is a real treat because you get to watch them cook. Definitely a foodie perch.
(4)Paul S.
Great food. Make a reservation.
(4)Brian P.
Great food!! Great ambience!! Service was good and decent wine selection.
(5)Coffee L.
I found Bambu five years ago on the recommendation of a realtor I was surprised to find a Bay Area style restaurant in Medford. The food is not 5-star but it is good and its fun to order in a dim sum kind of way (ie. multiple items). I find the prices very reasonable for what you get. The service flucturates with the male servers being the better servers. They do have a lovely patio on the side that is very nice in the summer. I also like their cucumber water!
(4)Masil M.
I've been here twice; both times for business meetings. It would get a solid 3.5 if half stars were an option. They have a large menu with a variety of choices (poultry, meat, veggie) spanning many different cooking styles. The first time there, I had the beef salad and it was pretty tasty, a little bit less flavorful than I have had at traditional Vietnamese restaurants, but still quality. The cucumber salad was very refreshing. The second time, I had a rice dish and I asked them to make it a spicy curry rice dish which was a little different than how they listed it on the menu; and they were happy to do it. Their Spicy 5 was more like a 3.5. I enjoyed my meal here, as did my business companions. It is a bit on the spendy side. The service is good but felt a bit rushed. It can be a little noisy. I would go back, it's a good place with lots of options for varied palates.
(3)Julia M.
I like Bambu. It's more 'upscale,' so it's a nice place to go on a Friday or Saturday evening. I love their green beans- they're great. I get them every time, so I can't comment on any other entree. If you're not a freak like me who enjoys eating a huge plate of green beans for dinner, they also have a nice selection of fish and noodles on their menu. Everyone I've ever went with has never had a complaint. The service is nice and the prices are reasonable.
(5)Lexie V.
Bambu is a strange little joint. The food is pretty decent for the most part. I've been here 3 times now and have always really loved at least one dish on each visit. This past visit was a little off only because when we ordered, the waitress asked our spice level on a scale from 1-4 and we said 3. The udon noodle dish arrived after a 45 MINUTE WAIT (no joke) and was beyond spicy- it was practically inedible, so we were disappointed. We didn't send it back since it was past 9pm (closing time) and it had already taken so long to arrive. We also had the country vegetable curry and it was absolutely delicious-- that's the dish to order here, hands down. We also had spring rolls that turned out to be fried-- just not my personal preference. I like a cold fresh non-fried spring roll. This fried one felt more like a standard eggroll, nothing special. The edamame was what i call a "delicious evil:" extremely salty, probably too salty, but that didn't mean we didn't eat every single one of them! On past visits, I've enjoyed the pad thai quite a bit and would recommend it here. We finished with fried banana rolls with macadamia ice cream that was fantastic. We nearly licked that plate clean! The ambiance of Bambu is sort of "airport dining," very Medford, not really chic or edgy or anything, but perfectly average and acceptable. The wait service is efficient, but kind of cold and detached, and prices are fair, but the food takes way too long to come out. They need to work on consistent spicing in accordance with their scale, and also my boyfriend was furious that the person who answered the phone to take our reservation was blatantly rude to him (and it's not the first time), so fix that, Bambu peeps.
(3)R H.
Bambu has wonderful food when you eventually get it. The service is very slow and the waitresses and even the hostesses are on the verge of condescending. The food is fresh & made to order but portion size can be extremely inconsistent especially with the garlic chicken & the Shanghai baby back ribs. We've received very good portions on occasion and then when we ordered it again have received about 1/2 of what we received the previous time which is so unfortunate considering the prices. I've resorted to ordering take-out when I have a Bambu craving but have been left on hold for 25 minutes and then when I tried calling back, the hostess had left the phone off the hook and I was never able to get thru. I actually sent a fax to let them know they had left me on hold but I had never received a response from anybody regarding the service issues. I know somebody who used to work there and she stated that I need to compose an email to the owners to let them know about my experience with my lunch order because she assured me that the owners wanted to know stuff like that because they were always trying to improve. I did as she recommended and never heard anything back. Either the owners just don't care because they are so busy or they just simply don't care. I'm not sure which. It's a shame that the service is so poor now considering how wonderful the whole experience used to be when they were in their first 5 years of operation. Now I do not even recommend the restaurant to people because the service tarnishes the food.
(3)Anthony R.
The food here is really good and so is the service! You can tell how good a restaurant is by how packed it is on an off night. I would recommend always making a reservation. My go to dish is the Indonesian noodle bowl. Unique flavor with udon noodles, pork, and shrimp. Great outside seating adds the perfect touch to a dinner date.
(5)Leina S.
Dear manager of bambu, The peanut sauce and the curry dishes bambu used to serve was the best I have ever had but suddenly it changed to being less tasty and very light! I don't know what happened but I would love if this could be fixed.. Thank you
(2)R M.
This is an upscale restaurant by the same people who own Beasys On the Creek in Ashland. The food is above average but some how just misses the five-star rating to which it aspires. Unless you come early reservations are recommended as this is a very popular little restaurant. Tuesdays there is a discount for vegetarian food. For details on the food see other reviews. Family style sharing of dishes is encouraged, just as is traditional in Chinese restaurants. The location is in the Larson Creek Shopping Center by the Hallmark Store.
(4)Julie K.
Always love Bambu! Favorite place to eat and always my pick for my birthday dinners! The tiger rolls are bomb and the coconut creme brûlée is my favorite dessert!!! Also a very extensive wine list that is sure to impress!
(5)Vaishnavi R.
We stumbled upon this on a long road trip from Seattle and we were pleasantly surprised with the place. The food was amazing- one of the best we have had in thai restaurants. They had a vegetarian menu which was a big plus for us. The staff were very courteous and helpful.
(5)Lindsey M.
As usual Bambu did not disappoint! I had a hazelnut crusted halibut special that was wonderful although at $28.00 it was much more expensive than dishes on the menu. My 14 year old son had the sweet and spicy fish and said it was the awesome. We shared the dim sum plate which we both enjoyed. The service was impeccable which is something I've always appreciated about Bambu. We are looking forward to our next dinner here.
(4)Paul B.
This is one if the best places to have lunch in the city. Everything is great and they are all pretty reasonable. For dinner, they have a nice wine selection and food menu. I love the tiger rolls and the chicken Katsu is amazing!
(4)Jess H.
This is our 'Date night' spot. We get the sweet 'n' sour prawns EVERYTIME. Tiger Rolls are tasty as well. Then we try a new plate each time. The atmosphere is great and the staff are all very sweet.
(5)Francis N.
I stopped by Bambu on my trip to Crater Lake with my family. Coming from the bay area CA, I was not quiet sure if Medford has any good Asian restaurant. My family were disappointed in general on the food although atmosphere and service were very good. We ordered Lemongrass Soup, Thai Chicken Sate, Rock Shrimp Spring Roll, Pan Fried Noodles, and Thai Style Fried Rice. They come with complementary streamed white rice which was tasty. However, we found Lemongrass Soup and Rock Shrimp Spring Roll are too salty. The chicken (breast) in Pan Fried Noodles was generous portion and crispy outside but moist inside but the noodles and rest of the dish has no flavor other than salt and peanut. I was looking for more complex taste for the price which I think is in higher-end in Medford. The bright spot was Thai Chicken Sate and Thai Style Fried Rice which were pretty good. I won't go back for the food for now.

This place rocks!!! When we first walked in the place looked so fancy I was concerned that my t-shirt and jeans would be too informal. Pretty quickly we were asked very cheerfully if we had a reservation. That question concerned me that we wouldn't get to eat here. They were however quite happy to seat us at the bar. My attire concerns were abated. My husband and I started with 3 appetizers. We got the Tiger Roll that was similar to a crab Rangoon filling in a thin fried wrapper like a fried spring roll. It was delicious and served with house made chili sauce. Our second was the crab cake dish. It was good although not as wonderful as the aforementioned Tiger Roll. Our third app was from the specials, a steamed pot-sticker in a wonderfully mild broth with sesame oil. I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was probably the best dish of our meal. Next course was salad. We had the Thai Lime Salad with steak. It came with a mango chutney on the side. We tried it with a squeeze of the lime that was on the side of the plate. My husband and I both thought once the chutney was evenly distributed it tasted way better. The steak was perfectly pink in the center and seared on the outside. For dinner we had the Curry Basil Salmon. The curry sauce was lovely. It balanced with the salmon very nicely! We got the fried banana roll desert. It was yummy but there was more chocolate and caramel sauce than was necessary. The banana would have stood alone nicely. It definitely wasn't our favorite desert. Our waitress was very nice and so were all of the servers. Since we were sitting at the bar we had a great view of the chefs at work. They were mesmerizing to watch!! They were all very professional and ran the place like a well-oiled machine!! We found a wonderful place in Medford. If we are through Medford again we will surely stop in.

This place was EXCELLENT for a Medford area restaurant... Food had an amazing taste, service was fast and friendly, prices are affordable averaging $15 per entree and the restaurant has a classy, relaxed, upscale vibe. I would recommend trying the chef specials for a meal and the fried banana dessert sounds weird but was sooo good! I'm not one for fried foods either! And oh yea.. The tiger rolls are to DIE for!!! I would also recommend calling to make reservations because this place is fast becoming popular. Our meal cost approx $110 for 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and one dessert.

Still great food and service. Long term consistency is commendable.

This is a preliminary review. Let me start by stating that I will most likely go back and try more things; also, I went during the lunch hour, so that could be why I wasn't as impressed as I expected to be. Now, onto the review. I had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Tiger Roll. The Tiger Roll was DELICIOUS. I mean, REALLY delicious. My only issue was that it was ONE roll, about the size of an egg roll, for $7. I, personally, think that $3.95 would be a fair price, at lunch time, especially, even taking into consideration that this is a more "upscale," "different" restaurant for Medford. I was not impressed with the Chicken Pad Thai. I did NOT like the thin noodles; they reminded me of Pasta Roni. It is mostly noodles, too, so there weren't a lot of other, more interesting flavors or textures to compensate. I do, however, think that this could be an excellent dish with a bit of tweaking :) The hazelnut-crusted mahi mahi with mango coconut cream sauce was AMAZING. I do think it needs a vegetable other than the cucumber salad, though, to balance it out just a tiny bit. I like that their water is flavored with cucumber. Refreshing! Like I said, I plan to go back at dinner and see if it's a bit more of what I was expecting. Still a good place, on the right track, with a soothing, relaxing atmosphere and lots of pretty things to look at. I would have rated it a 2.5 star, simply because I was REALLY disappointed with the Pad Thai...but that wouldn't be fair, considering that everything else was pretty good.
(3)Ted W.
I had the Pad Thai. It was good, but not the best I've ever had.

Wow. I am so impressed! My mom took my 21 month old daughter and I to eat at Bambu last night. I can't even begin to describe what it was that I had, except that I took the specials, some potstickers for an appetizer and the halibut for the entree. Sounds boring put like that, but there are so many flavors, fabulous sauces, fresh veggies, and it's beautifully presented. In the bay area this would cost twice as much. The only thing that could have made it a fraction better would be if they begin to offer brown rice (it's white jasmine). I had a house-made watermelon sorbet that was delicious, refreshing, and sprinkled with black sesame seeds for dessert. I am most pleased, however, with the service. The waitress was very thoughtful and brought my daughter an extra plate and a plastic water cup without being asked. She offered to bring some rice out first too. The food arrived quickly, very hot, and my little girl never had a chance to complain or throw a hunger fit. She even ate some salmon and halibut. This is definitely an establishment that is kid-friendly, although many of the dishes are somewhat spicy (beware when ordering for the little ones!). We were there early, 5:30, and did not need a reservation. Inexpensive lunch specials, too. Take out is available.

The food was ok, but reminds me of pf chang type asian /thai food meaning pricey and catered toward tourist. The pad thai was not authentic but food was decent. I was expecting more authentic thai cuisine.

Being completely honest, Medford is seriously lacking in quality fine dining, especially with regard to Asian influenced food. Bambu has been a steadfast favorite of mine and my wife for a few years now. I've never walked out disappointed. The style of food is Asian Fusion. Don't expect any pink sauce in ketchup bottles or a menu full of deep fried mystery meat with canned sauces, this is real food. They use great ingredients and everything always tastes very fresh. The atmosphere is great if you like New York style dining of a busy dining room with tables pretty close together. Awesome wine selection. We always get a babysitter, not so great for little kids. This is my favorite restaurant in So Oregon. RECOMMEND: Pan Fried Noodles with Prawns, Halibut when they have it on the menu, tiger rolls, calamari and finally the lamb chops.
(5)prins d.
Bambu is a great place for dinner. The chef is excellent and always has great specials and delivers great items on the menu. The prices are adequately priced for the level of food. The restaurant gets really busy during peak hours on the weekend so if you can avoid 6-7.30 on fri and sat. then you will avoid waiting for a table or your food. 4 stars keep up the good work!
(4)Cheryl O.
Wow! Try the Tiger rolls & garlic chicken. The service was wonderful and friendly. You won't be disapointed and you will want to return often.
(5)Janet H.
We have been here 3 times. Food is always very tasty and fresh. Each time the service has not been so good, though. We waited a good 45 minutes for our appetizers. I asked server if we could get the main dish without the crushed peanuts on it, because of food allergy, and talked with her about the other items ordered to make sure no peanuts are in them. The food came with peanuts anyway, and the waitress asked me if I had asked for peanuts to be left off...instead of just correcting it, she seemed to be trying to figure out if it was my fault or hers. She had a short memory, and not good service recovery. Food was corrected, without peanuts, and was delicious. Waited around longer than we would expect for the credit card to be returned. We like the food, but the service at Bambu is terrible. We gave it three tries, 6 months apart, and the service just gets worse each time. We will not be back.

My partner and I tried Bambu for the first time this past Valentine's Day. We had a great experience. Going in with no particular expectations, we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the tiger rolls (cream cheese, crab, cilantro, and chili sauce wrapped in a spring roll wrapper, fried and served with a sweet/spicy chili sauce). They were DELICIOUS! We also ordered one of the specials for the evening, lobster potstickers. These little dumplings were also very good, with a lemongrass dipping sauce. We shared an entree (another special that night), a crusted mahi mahi in a yellow curry sauce. The fish was very fresh and the curry was deliciously flavored. This particular plate came with a heaping bowl of steamed jasmine rice (more than enough for the two of us) and wilted spinach. The spinach didn't have much taste, but nothing a bit of the leftover curry sauce couldn't help. I would definitely try this place again.

New favorite in Medford! Excellent innovative food and top notch friendly service.
(5)Gerrie L.
Best Asian food in the valley-bar none.
(4)Amy F.
I have always had great food and great service here. They tend to get busy and it isn't a huge place, so reservations are a good idea. Their lunch special is such a deal. I think their prices are reasonable and reflect the quality and quantity of food.
(4)Tim E.
Awesome food and service. Love this place!!
(5)Harvey K.
Just ate at Bambu tonight with a friend. I ordered a special with Mahi and Shrimp and he ordered the grilled salmon. Both of us were extremely pleased with our meals. The decor of the restaurant could use a little up-do but the menu was modern and eclectic and everything on it sounded amazing making my biggest problem deciding which item I wanted more. The service was prompt and attentive. I'd definitely come back esp for the fried banana dessert
(4)Paul B.
Simple, contemporary asian fusion cuisine. Nothing to sophisticated. I ordered off the lunch menu. Had the Tofu Sate, Icelandic Cod and Spring Rolls. Portions were small, but flavors acceptable. Nothing special. I did like the open kitchen as I do enjoy watching the Chef and cooks do their stuff. Outdoor seating was nice.
(3)Debbie F.

(4)Hua L.
Decent but not authentic Thai food. Small portion. Good service. The mango cheese cake was superb, which changed my rating from 3 stars to 4.

(2)Georgie K.
(2)Liz B.

Bambu has a fantastic menu, good service and good food. The only draw back--it can be crowded, and there's no full bar, only beer and wine. The ambiance is nice and it's a great place to have dinner. I see they have outside dining for the nicer weather, so that may help with the crowding on the inside.
(5)R H.
(3)Karolina W.
It's my special occasion to place. Love their dim sum appetizer, and always end up having salmon in the curry sauce. Fantastic! A little bit pricey but oh so worth it!
(5)Stefa B.
(2)K R.
(5)Rizzo R.
Truly, one of the BEST restaurants in Medford. The food, the preparation, the service & the ambiance are absolutely first-class. And who knew hat such a place existed tucked away in a grocery store strip mall. My only regret about writing this review is that others will discover this treasure.
(1)Anthony R.
(5)Lynn G.
Consistently great food & service!
(4)Vaishnavi R.
(4)Sandy B.
Love the food, everything I've tried is delicious, even the added touch of cucumber water! Excellent staff and service, classy, clean, comfortable, great meal specials, extensive wine list of only the best wines. Good for lunch too but better make reservations if you want to go. Always packed!
(3)Blue S.
Our favorite restaurant in southern oregon. Though we live in Ashland, we often diive the extra miles to come here for dinner. Usually, there are a few favorites on a menu, but here, every thing we've tried has been delicious.
(5)Heather T.

Checked this place out because of good Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! The food was really tasty and the portions were big. You can get a good size meal and a beer for less then $20. And the service wasn't too shabby either. We had Jennifer as a server and she did an excellent job!

Excellent, well prepared and well priced. The lunch special I believe is dollar for dollar the best priced menu option in the Rogue Valley. You can't go wrong here. Service is good and professional.

I have always had great food and great service here. They tend to get busy and it isn't a huge place, so reservations are a good idea. Their lunch special is such a deal. I think their prices are reasonable and reflect the quality and quantity of food.

Awesome food and service. Love this place!!

This place is awesome. Food is full of flavor and you can taste the quality of their ingredients. It is busy so plan to make reservations. I cant wait till I can eat there again!!

Very good food. Fast service. Would definitely come back here.

Well done overall. Servers should inform customers of price on specials, though. Up-selling is fine with full disclosure.

The food was ok, but reminds me of pf chang type asian /thai food meaning pricey and catered toward tourist. The pad thai was not authentic but food was decent. I was expecting more authentic thai cuisine.

Best Asian food in the valley-bar none.
