Great for the price and stays open later than everyone in town (with the exception being the casino). The employees are always helpful and attentive. You can never go wrong with the tacos or burritos. Personal favorite is the Rivas. Chimichanga style burrito, covered in enchilada sauce. It's to die for!

I've passed by this place countless times because of the shabbiness of the exterior, and then I got hungry and decided to hope they might be one of those happy miracles where the energy goes into the right things (that would be the food and service) and not the less important stuff. So here we are, with no way around the fact that they serve the least flavorful Mexican food I've ever eaten. I don't mean least spicy, I mean it was flavorless. I ordered a Combo #1 (which wasn't a combo; it was two beef tacos along with the rice and beans that accompany all the combos) and I don't know how long it's been since I've needed to chew meat that long. So I ate the rubbery tacos, thinking that no matter how I felt about the entree, rice and beans can usually save anything. Not this time. It was rock bottom bland throughout; the tacos, the rice, the beans. And it left me hungry!

good but not great. there was a lot of meat in my carne asada burrito but not much else. would have liked to see a more descriptive menu so i knew what was in, like, the oregon burrito. wife got 2 chicken tacos that condisted of a little shredded chicken with cheddar and lots of lettuce in a greasy fried shell. ummmmm yeah. if this place was in northern idaho i think i would have been more impressed, considering our current options. i guess i was hoping for more after reading some of the reviews. and to the person who said Oscars has burritos "as big as your head" i invite you to go try el taco loco in walla walla, washington on the corner of south 9th and chestnut and you will see a burrito as big as your head and will haunt your dreams forever. if you get everything in them (meat, rice, beans, and goodies) they weigh over 3 pounds and all for only $6.

Has always been one of my favorite places but I got a champignon burrito there today and it was under seasoned and super greasy. Very disappointed. Not sure if I'll go again which would be too bad.

Perfectly placed location for fast food that isn't quintessential fast food. I've only been here once so take my review with a grain of salt, but our quick stop here as we headed back to Portland was exactly what we were looking for and we will return again for sure. The beans and rice were good and I'm told the carnitas burrito is everything you want it to be. As you'd expect they aren't skimping on ingredients either.

We hit Super Oscar's on our way out of town for lunch. The service was friendly and our food was even brought out to us. Hubs ordered carnitas tacos and I had a carne asada burrito. At first I was taken aback a bit because the tacos were $2.45/each - a bit spendy for tacos if you ask me. However, these were bigger than the standard and piled high. One unusual addition was they put guacamole (which wasn't very good) on them. Unfortunately it masked the flavor of the meat and made the tacos extra messy. Hubs wasn't a fan of this and said if he were to have tacos here again he would definitely skip the guac. My carne asada buritto was definitely underwhelming. My first bite had a large piece of gristle in it which didn't help my eating experience. The meat lacked flavor and although it was packed with stuff (guac, sour cream, rice, beans) - strangely enough, it was bland. I tried doctoring it up with red and green sauce but it didn't help much. The red sauce was very runny and weak but packed a little heat. The green sauce (also very runny) had good flavor but no heat. Where is the Cholula when you need it!?! Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I can't even say they are a-ok. Maybe so-so? I would possibly hit it up again late night (after heading home from the casino). They aren't 24hrs - but I believe they are open until 3am!

Have chowed down at both of the Super Oscar's locations: Newport and Lincoln City, multiple times each site. Have had taco's, enchiladas, tamales, all in the 'combo' category. The rice is generic, the beans were somewhat bland, but improved with a lovely cloud of shredded (fresh) cheeze. (They are both improved by adding a bit of salsa, but I think the beans would be improved with a pinch of cumin...just sayin') The protein dishes are all of a nice size: the taco's (both chicken and beef) are hefty and stuffed full of large chunks of meat, topped w/ fresh lettuce and again, a generous amount of cheeze. (Bring a toothpick!) The taco shells are particularly light and crispy. Several different taco sauces and some pickled veggies available for self service at the counter. My last visit there, I asked for Siracha, and in a minute or less, was handed a cup of chopped cilantro! I didn't mind, it was kind of cute! The counter service is prompt, if service is slow, they will deliver your meal to your table, otherwise, will shout it out. Both locations have drive through windows. Both locations have TV's: the one in Newport tuned in to English speaking channels, the Lincoln City restaurant tuned into a Hispanic channel. Restaurants are fairly clean, very casual dress, reasonable prices. Nancy K. mentioned that she was taken aback at a price tag of $2.45 per taco, but I had chicken taco's ala carte at another close-by Mexican restaurant at $1.75 per, and Super Oscars had more than twice the ingredients as the other place, and the ingredients are much fresher!! She was correct that they were "bigger than the standard and piled high". Super Oscars is a great example of why to avoid chain food places and go for the local color and flavor!

This place is what it is, convenient, late-night food. Some dishes are a hit (carne asada nachos and their breakfast burritos) and some are a miss (the cheese enchilaladas are gross and their tacos are way too greasy). But this place wasn't meant to be gourmet, so I will continue to go here whenever I need something to eat late at night or have a craving for a massive dish of nachos.
