The location of this casino is fabulous. Right next to the Pacific Ocean; which begs the question; WHY ARE YOU IN A CASINO WHEN YOU COULD BE ON THE BEACH!?!?! Guilty as charged. Yep, I'm a sucker for throwing away hard earned cash for the pleasure of the smoking publics company. Do I ever win anything? No, of course not. Not even the common sense to not come back again. I'm seduced by the dark side over and over again. It's fun - the casino is well maintained - and the people are fun, for the most part. Although, I'd be on the lookout for some of the retirees that live in the area -- they have canes for the sake of weaponry, not for assistance in walking. If you and a retiree are heading for the same slot spot, beware!! They'll take you out in a heartbeat!

Pre-slut text message sent during a stop at Chinook Winds: Um, I bought a toothbrush? Shot: Red-Headed Slut. Part Jager, part peach schnapps, part cranberry juice. Note that none of those items normally go into my tummy on their own. And they might not have made it down together, but co-workers insisted. Berated, even. And the main reason I wanted to get down to the casino was because my phone had nada reception on the beach and I wanted to call my pimp. Er, mother. Yes, I wanted to call my mother. Post-slut text message: My co-worker yelled at me that I wasn't drinking fast enough. This text message took appromiximately 20 minutes to realize. Post-slut phone call: I'm not seeing any sexypants around here. I heard there was supposed to be one on the loose. Where is the sexypants? Oh man, I told my dead baby joke. How the hell did they get my dead baby joke out of me? By the end of the night, two co-workers got kicked out of the bar, a total of $290.00 had been lost at various machines and tables, and the impending presentation on proper invoicing procedures was not sounding too keen. Sluts ruin everything.

I've figured it's not in the cards for me to be a pro gamble... and a stop at Chinook Winds (or as my Grandpa creatively coined it: "Fish Farts"... haha punny...) for my first real casino experience confirmed that. Walking through the "non smoking" slots with big eyes and five bucks in my hand I left the rows of nickel machines only a couple of minutes later with an award voucher for 25 cents. Awesome. I was kind of expecting the happy clinking of change in metal trays and a sea of old people smoking and sipping whisky sours. I suppose I was wrong what with the digital age and security demands that surround gaming facilities. The people watching did not disappoint however. There is a explicit clientele here, and I felt really out of place. If you're in the area and tired of shopping and strolling the coast, this is another regional attraction worthy wasting a few bucks and minutes at. And if that becomes too much, you can go drink your seaside woes away at the strip mall edition of McMenamins across the street with the other fish outta water types.

Meh, it's OK, but Spirit Mountain is now head and shoulders above Chinook Winds Casino in terms of style, class, amenities and DEFINITELY in terms of lodging! Very few gaming tables crammed in amongst a sea of machines...more table options would be nice for the real gamblers out there. The night club looked like it was busy, but we just stayed down in the casino.

This review is for their BUFFET... I thought the food was ok... decent but not exceptional for the price you pay... some are dried out maybe because we came in late though when I told the waiter that some are dried out he replaced it with new one... the fried bread was good and someone fried it infront of you... the whole experience was OK.

3 stars for the buffet. Actually 3.5 stars. For Sunday's lunch is only $7.95 and it's all you can eat. Most of the food are fresh and they have a pretty good selection. I used to win at least $20 from the slot machines, but on my recent trip, I didn't win anything. Nada. Zero. Lucky, I only spent $20. The Star Wars $0.01 slot machines don't love me no more...SADDDDDDDD...

I love chinook! I visit here about 3 times a year. The location is nice. They have a good variety of games. They do have a small non smoking section also which is nice. Chinook was just approved to now sell Alcohol Beverages on the gaming floor. Before you could only drink in the bar upstairs

Awful. I'll preface this with I'm not a smoker or a gambler so take the rest of the review with whatever wisdom you see fit. Ok, that being said all this visit did was stress me out. I had no idea slot machines were so complicated and included a basic knowledge of quick algebra. I naively thought a penny slot meant just that- nope. Neither do the quarter or dollar slots. My husband swore the dealer at the Texas Hold'Em table cheated (I could hear him proclaiming such two aisles over) and promptly lost $65 in a very short time which included $5 for the worst Bloody Mary ever. Again, my naiveness kicked in and I said, "it wasn't free? This isn't like Vegas?" So, stinking of cigarette smoke and $65 poorer we went over the the play palace to pick up our usually enthusiastic I can have a great time anywhere 6 yr old....who was in tears. She had an equally awful experience and was elated to be leaving. That never happens. I'm serious- the kid has won several most enthusiastic & most positive awards at school! Even if we won $$ I still wouldn't rate this any better.

Small casino area. Bad parking. It's always packed when we go. Very smokey inside, due to its size. Just a smaller casino, but very DARK and weird inside. I've never stayed at their hotel...so I can't review that.

I gave the casino two stars because it has a good variety of machines and is fairly decent sized. It lost stars because the machines are tighter than a girl before prom night. I know it is gambling. I don't expect to win every time. All I ask is that a machine at least gives a few decent payouts here and there before it bends me over and does me raw.

Buffet is overpriced with mediocre food. we went on a Friday night at 8:30 pm and was told it was an hour wait. We walked over to steak house. Juts ambience was underwhelming. A customer standing at the register told us the food was awful, overpriced, poor wait staff and he had been waiting for 20 minutes to talk to a manager about his bad expericience. Starving we went back to buffet , took the pager and was buzzed in 20 minutes. That is pretty off on estimated time to wait. The dessert quality poor, salad bar limited, fried shrimp not crunchy, salmon soggy, ..the casino managers and tribal elders should make an unannounced buffet visit..people look forward to excellent buffets at casinos. Home Town Buffet wins hands down against Chinook and is far cheaper. We will not eat there again...not worth it. Casino seems dated and is too smokey.

Came here on Saturday for Coastal Rythym and Blues with the girls. I had never had a chance to see the convention center part of the casino. I have no idea what the capacity was, but there was tons of seating around large round tables and a decent sized dance floor to shake your thing on. The event was really cool. Three wonderful acts that made sure we were up dancing all night. It's a good thing too because the drinks at the bar were nice and strong. I even went down to the casino snack bar and purchased a cold turkey sandwich as none of us had eaten any dinner before heading out and I needed some food in my tummy before I could consume anymore alcohol. The sandwich was pretty cheap and was out in like 2 minutes. And it was tasty! Unfortunately that was about all of the casino we experienced. We were on a mission to get our groove on and were not let down.

We came here to gamble a little... there weren't that many tables here that were being used but there was a bunch of slots. I tried to be good to my lungs and was playing the wheel of fortune slots in the non smoking area... but I could totally smell the smoke from there. We decided to eat at the buffet here for dinner which is dirt cheap... like $9 and it comes with a lot of variety and their prime rib is actually okay.... and there is a section where there is a chef making things to order as well.

SO smokey, such poor ventilation that even the non smoking slots are smokey. I love Vegas, and I know this isn't Vegas, but where Vegas it seems like people are having fun, this place just seemed to have a desperation vibe. Selection of machines is OK, though on a Saturday night, you may have a wait to play your fave.

This review is for the hotel only - many others have reviewed the Casino and the buffet so I will abstain. I recently stayed in the "suites" portion of their hotel complex - my room was on the 2nd floor, had a king bed and balcony overlooking the ocean. Very nice as the rooms were recently remodeled. My major complaint was that I could hear every footstep the people above me took! This was not some quiet shuffling noise that you could sleep through - the walls would creak and shake as would the ceiling when the people above you moved around. At first I thought it was the particular people above me and I called the front desk to see what could be done. The front desk called the room, but nothing changed. (it was 1AM and I had driven 12 hours to get there so I was exhausted). The next day I asked to be moved to the top floor because of the noise. The front desk person told me they had no availability and that everyone on the top floor was staying multiple days. I tended to not believe them because the parking lot emptied out. The next night I had new neighbors above me and the same thing - every footstep they took shook the walls and reverberated the room. Once again I asked to be moved and was denied. I had to stay there 3 nights because I was attending a wedding and on the third night when I had to get good sleep to make the 12 hour drive home, my new upstairs neighbors stayed up till 3AM! Needless to say, I got very little sleep. If you are a light sleeper, I would not recommend this hotel. Heck, even if you're not a light sleeper, you'll probably have trouble with the noise level. If the hotel front desk people had at least tried to move me I would not have written this review. I asked 3 times to be relocated and was denied each time. Every morning the parking lot would empty and new people would show up at 4PM. That was when I got good sleep...

We head to this casino perhaps 3-4 times a year. The last two years things changed, went from feeling we had a chance on the machines to feeling we had no chance. So we quit going for a long time, the last trip darned if I didn't hit 2 hand pays? Little once, but a change. The wife lost a grand, not one even $50 winning ticket? The food used to be good in the main room, must be trouble finding help? We use the buffet, at least if it doesn't look good we can pass. This place could use some new management, and some better ventilation, just MHO. But it sure does have Spirit Mountain beat, which isn't saying much.

I personally don't feel this casino gets it, the prices of the buffet and the poor quality of the food items being served are an example of the overall service and experience you can expect. Not once in my past three visits have I encountered an employee who smiled or received any type of acknowledgement or welcome. The RV park is on a heavily sloping parking lot, almost as if they're saying 'sure you can stay overnight, and gamble but we don't want you too comfortable that you might stay longer'.

the quality has gone downhill rapidly in the last year or so .. great job remodeling , now make some better food ? the veggies were all soft and soggy . the fried chicken was softer and soggier than the veggies . the prime rib was ok , but how is it everytime i come in here the person cutting the meat is less interested than the time before ? you cant even respond to a hello / thank you ? ( this has ALWAYS been an issue here , you must have at least one guy back there who doesnt hate everyone you could have come out and slice the prime rib ? get mike haft to do it ? at least he can respond and smile .. ) the pork was dry and leathery . the best thing is the desserts they make there .. the marionberry crumble with a shot of soft serve vanilla ice cream is pretty heavenly .. we usually stick around and throw some money into the machines , but between the derelicts , cigarette smoke , and crowds of 90 yr olds ? we walked through and just left .. i always hope the buffet will be better than it is .. shame on me i guess .. next time ill just drive to grand ronde ..

If your going to gamble, your better off funding your 401K, trust me. They are in the business to make money, period. The smoke smell is overwhelming. On the way to the buffet your end up smelling like an ashtray by the time you arrive. The buffet is a step up from Sweet Tomato's, with better meats. But you are still in a cafeteria style set up.. Once you have been in Vegas this really seems horrible. Sorry to say. This one is showing it's age, and has almost no ventilation.

Been to this Casino several times, a couple years ago we got to see Collin Raye do three shows in 2 days at their Convention Center! Three great concerts by a great Country music star! They also have a very good Sunday buffet and a good buffet at this Casino, the slot machines here are your typical slots with the typical payouts of the machines, and the employees here are very courteous and prompt. Haven't stayed at the hotel itself, but the Casino has a nice view of the Pacific Ocean.

We've been here twice on a mid-week trip to Lincoln City. One major plus to point out is after 9pm, when everything else is closed for food, the casino has a 24/hr Deli open with hot items. The casino wasn't too smoky, nor too busy. Free soda/water/coffee is a nice touch. The slots, compared to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, FL, actually allow you to win a little bit. Nice casino, no major complaints!

Every single thing about this casino needs to be fixed. I cannot for the life of me point out one 5 star thing. The "club" they have on Fridays and Saturdays is a joke, you know what...it's not even a club it's a the upstairs restaurant with the tables pushed aside and flashy lights (don't forget the cigarette smoke). Food? Sadly the downstairs deli has the best food in the casino itself thought the restaurant by the hotel is good. Don't waste your money on the buffet. Don't throw away your money in the machines, read all the reviews on the people who tell you this casino sucks you dry, they are not lying. You will also get ID'ed every 10 minutes if you don't look over 90 and you leave the floor to get a soda or coffee. Enjoy the pleasant aroma of cigarettes all around you, non-smoking section has about 20 machines but no ventilation so it's still smokey. Take the money you would gamble here and go to Vegas.

I was sitting at the slots blowing like a dollar every thirty seconds, the cocktail waitress comes around "cocktail?" I asked for a bloody mary. "That will be 5.25." Wait... what!? I have NEVER been charged for a drink at ANY other casino (wendover, LV, winnemucca...) while incinerating my money into their machines--will not be back.

The actual casino itself is fine despite it having horrible ventilation for all the smoke. My review is based on being ID'd literally three times in 20 minutes. I even made a point to get the 21 and over bracelet that the bouncers give you at the front podium. When carded I said politely that I had my bracelet and showed them... Yet they still carded me. And followed me. Otherwise the casino is OK with plenty of entertaining games for everybody. It's also huge and spacious. I'll go back again, but hopefully won't get stalked like a minor :)

Went out here with my retired dad and had some fun although we did not feel the slots were as free and easy as the casino closer to Salem. What I did like about this place was the fact that you could dovetail a visit to the beach with a casino trip. First, the beach access was wonderful. Just a simple staircase down to the sand. We parked in the lot, gambled, went on the beach for a nice walk, etc., then went back to game. They have RV parking (day only with no service) on the hill and several types of water view rooms. We noticed that there are 3 types of rooms. 1. Ocean view with porch (the best rooms) 2. Ocean view with patio and door at ground level (next best) 3. Rooms with views and no patio or porch. I would ask for the #1 room above if staying here. Overall a fun place for folks who like to gamble. Even better if you want to take in the ocean for a few hours/gamble here and there and have a good place to park.

I just wasted a $800 weekend. Drove 5 hrs to see Dwight Yoakam. He was awesome, at least he sounded awesome. Everyone used their seats except the 8-10 drunks that refused to sit down. In an almost 2 hr concert I might have caught 1.5 Minutes of Dwight. In spite of yelling and screaming by everyone around us, these women flipped us off and said be happy we could hear the concert. Where was the event staff???? Why could no one come down and ask these morons to sit down so others could enjoy the show. Never again will I set foot in this smoke infested hole. I can't believe that people could be so rude. To quote a Dwight Song: This is the last time that I'll endure this pain.

For starters, we were hit by a disgusting wave of cigarette smoke as soon as the front door opened. Not a good sign. Place was just one big thick cloud of smoke. Non-smoking section? Nothing is smoke free there, since it permeates everything. Place was full of zombies sucking on their cigarettes. For what the casino makes off of all of the losers, they could afford to spend some money on ventilation, And, they could afford to spend a little on their crappy shuttle service. Got there OK on the shuttle but getting back to our room turned into a nightmare. Bus broke down, waited forever for another to show up, finally gave up and started walking. In the middle of a huge storm, late at night, nothing but water everywhere. Soaked to the bone, tired, and coughing up green stuff from the second hand smoke. Not my idea of a good time.

Had a good visit at the casino. Machines were doing ok. A few new machines added since my last visit. Slot floor was very clean and the staff was actively cleaning. My only complaint is that the self serve beverage stations do not have lids for the cups and a saw at least one person spill their drink. With all the people smoking there I am afraid to put my drink down so I don't get ashes in my drink.

I enjoy games here and always love being at the beach. But one day of smoke inside was way too much smoke for me. The next morning l was really miserable from smoke the day before. I have never felt that way before anywhere and anytime in my life. the air-quality here is bad you might want to look for other casinos or places to gamble. It just has to be bad for health. If it was not for the smoke I would give higher ratings. I wish they would remove smoke entirely there. If they did, I would be there way too often :-)

We walked in to inquire about some tickets for a show that looked interesting. (You never know who's going to show up on stage at these casinos.) But just the air in the lobby was so heavy with smoke and gambling sweats that we walked pretty much straight back out in less time that it takes to sing a few bars of "Alice's Restaurant." 5 Stars for the food alone! The hotel would be like 2/3 stars, and the casino... well, I really don't gamble enough to be rating the casino part -- but I had fun! BUT THE FOOD! YUMM! My husband and I ate at the buffet one night and the restaurant the next night. The chili talapia was delicious and I'm not even usually a fan of talapia. The salmon was fresh. And You HAVE to go over to the guy making the Fry Bread! Best part! Dollop on the whipped butter and home made jam! The restaurant was nice for date-time, and the food was great too. But unless you are drinking, I'd just head to the buffet! The surplus of great food is worth it!

I've gone many times, with my wife, my parents, my friends, my sister, between all of use we must've gone to this place 100 times. I kid you not, not ONE time has any of us ever left this casino up $100+...After awhile -- and a long while at that, it's just time to move on to a better place that doesn't suck your money dry. I've lost so much damn money I should get a tax write for donating to their tribe! And with all the money they get from their machines you would think they could tighten up and improve the rooms. When I stayed in OCT. I had an ocean view King room. The fridge couldn't even keep a soda cool, it was old, the microwave, yes, even a cheap microwave was a turn dial style microwave! To make matters worse the bathroom tub surround had holes in it, so they taped over them with white tape! So pathetic. The shower water didn't drain properly and when I tried to pull the lever down on the drain it snapped off because they only had one screw in the faceplate, instead of two, and it wasn't even the correct screw. It's cool that this place is next to the Ocean. That's the best thing I have to say about it. The place is cramped and smoky as hell (I figure hell is pretty damn smoky). If you're looking for barely edible buffet, time spent confined to small spaces with chain smokers, and all the free soda you can drink, this your place! It's just not mine...

The ambiance is usually pretty relaxed whenever we have visited. It's not too packed or crazy. The buffet is not as good as spirit mountain casinos (only 20 mins away) and costs almost $5 more for worse quality of food. The card tables and slots are fun and the dealers are pretty cool also!

Once you've been to Vegas, you can never go back. Back to inferior casinos like this one, that is. A dump. It had been many moons since I stepped foot inside this place, but I distinctly remembered their big escalator and waterfall. That's the only good point I could talk about to my husband as we walked up to the building. But then, we see that instead of the waterfall and escalator, it's a whole wall of drywall. Remodeling? First off, I'm referring to this as an "Indian casino" because that's the term used by the industry itself, and that's good enough for me. I have never before patronized an Indian casino that I found better than any Nevada, or Atlantic City, casino. I realize that they're all smoky, but the Indian ones always seem smokiest. They have various restrictions on complimentary beverage service, as well as some table games and sports betting, depending on tribal or state regulations. Oh, and miserly slots. But enough of the gripes. The point I'm going to try to make is that Chinook Winds (est. 1995) is a breath of fresh air in the casino business, and is one of the most pleasant gaming venues I have ever visited. Look left upon entering and see the Winners Club desk and a doorway to rest rooms; a user-friendly masterstroke, because the first thing you want to do before gaming is get the rewards card. If you had a long drive to Lincoln City, the first thing you'll really want is a rest room. Beyond the doorway, a short walk through the back of the bingo auditorium is its own reward. The casino's main floor contains a wide selection of slots, many of them new games by an unfamiliar manufacturer, Spielo, best of all the Popcap Games-licensed "Plants vs. Zombies, Backyard Showdown," which was great fun and not a money gobbler. Several slot-machine sections have lower ceilings with A/C vents, and an elevated level along much of the street-side wall is dedicated to non-smoker slot players. What could be more relaxing than an up-to-date casino perched just off the Pacific where you can sit and play and feel as if a refreshing sea breeze is blowing away the emissions of gross polluters? Well, for some, maybe a jaunty stroll to the beach and not risking their money.

Nothing like walking through a cigarette inside of a sardine can full of zombies... Payout is worse than any casino I've ever been in to boot. I don't go into a casino to win, it just never happens but when you put $20 in a machine you would like to "win" once or twice (even if you still loose) but you might as well buy scratch tickets at the convenience store payout is %1000 better. Bet 400 "win" 18... bet 400 "win" 30 (seriously.) But we know that about this place and still go in from time to time. No longer after last weekend, never again, we walked in and back out ten minutes later. DON"T BOTHER! DISGUSTING GET SOME FREGGIN VENTILATION!!!

The location is beautiful. What is not to like about a resort and casino right next to the ocean. We stopped here on the way to Coos Bay, taking the Hwy 101 route down south. There is a lot of parking and it looked like most of it was full. Not to worry, we found parking easy enough and didn't have to walk very far either so don't let the looks of a full parking lot deter you. There is smoking allowed indoors so the place does smell a little smokey. The place is clean. It teems with people spending their money on slots or the tables. It looked like one of the craps tables was doing very well. We came for the buffet. In regards to casino buffets, this was mediocre. Considering how close the place was to the ocean, I expected fresher tasting seafood. There was variety but I expected a little more. Still, we did eat our fill and the staff was nice. I liked the dessert bar with the little mini pies and tarts. I love desserts and shrimp cocktails in general. The cocktail sauce is good with a nice horseradish kick to it. The prime rib was delicious.

You would think going to a casino word be fun! However Chinook Winds is the opposite. We went to gamble and have a few drinks but security doesn't allow that. They will harass you until you leave if they feel you had too much. We had one shot each and according to them were extremely intoxicated. There is too much smoke if you are a none smoker by the time you leave you will feel as if you smoked a whole pack. Only plus is it is on the beach I much prefer Spirit Mountain.

Indian gaming at its most mediocre, Chinook Winds is dated. Dated like that can of pumpkin pie filling that's been lurking in the back corner of your pantry since, well, didn't we move that with us from the old house? Geez that was like forever ago. I thin I had that in college. Yeah, let's send that to the food bank... Anyway, Chinook Winds is the big man-made attraction at the north end of Lincoln City. It sits right on the beach and sports a hotel/lodge, a convention center, gaming, shows, nightclub and sports bar. No sports book, however. That's supposedly illegal in Oregon. Although smoking indoors and unbridled gambling are somehow legal here. I'm guessing that it's on a little patch of tribal land or something. When you traipse through the front door of Chinook Winds you're met not with a refreshing breeze harkening back to your tribal ancestors (I had no visions from either side of my two 1/16th Native American ancestry lines), you're more likely struck face first by a wall of stale, smoky air. Gamblers in various states of desperation mill around the space like robots running out of batteries and desperate for a fix. The crowd is a mix of Oregon's finest - mostly older and sketchy, but some young and sketchy. Sprinkled in is a healthy dose of people who look like they're just out to have some random fun. And a few true tourists like us - simply stopping in to see the spectacle. The space itself reminds me of old Vegas (or better yet Reno) in the state it would be in had it not been torn down years ago to be replaced by new vegas. They have slots, video poker and card tables. The limits are nice and low - low enough that I was betting double the minimum on our 21 table. If Keno is your thing, they have a big dated keno room off to one side. There's also a nightclub tucked up away somewhere in the facility - I vaguely recall a visit to this spot amidst the insanity of a bachelor party many moons ago, but on this visit we only stuck around long enough for me to win some scratch playing blackjack. After a beer each (which we had to pay for - no free drinks at the tables here!) and about 45 minutes of gaming we had enough. Chinook Winds is definitely a laid back spot if you're the kind of person that favors a gritty casino experience to the polished, flashy veneer of Vegas. Plus they offer a bunch of ocean view rooms in the hotel. I'm going to guess they all smell like cigarette smoke too.

There was a bartender there who was either just lazy or real stupid, because when my husband asked what was she pouring for the house scotch, she said "I don't know, sir". Huh? You're working there and you can't or won't tell? How about you go take a look & find out when a customer asks? Is that so difficult?

This review is for the casino. The casino is good, people are friendly and everything is done professionally. The buffet on 2nd floor is just fine... wouldn't mind paying $10 for the lunch buffet, but not $16 for the dinner buffet, which has the exact same items as lunch. Too much fried and unhealthy stuff on the buffet. Rogue River restaurant on the 2nd floor is fine, but the restaurant by the hotel lounge (Chinook's Seafood Grill) is the best.

Lunch buffet was largely inedible. What these people did to the poor animals in the 'meat' products should be a crime. I don't know how, but the pre frozen veggies on the steam tables were rendered totally disgusting. I didn't know that level of awfulness was still allowed in a post Geneva Conventions world. A possible bright spot are the made-to-order fish tacos. They managed to be edible in spite of the obvious lack of care the young lady preparing them had. The desserts table should be labelled "Avoid At All Costs." NOTHING on it was good. The pumpkin pie tastes precisely NOTHING LIKE pumpkin pie. There was a "cappuccino bar" that tasted like they put used coffee grounds and pure distilled diabetes in it and little else. The strawberries on the strawberries and cream table looked as though they'd been pre-eaten. The rum-raisin sauce covered bread pudding wasn't terrible, in that if you ate enough if it, I'm pretty sure you'd get drunk - that's how strong the run was. This place seems to be run by a person who doesn't actually like food, but is running a buffet restaurant and is conflicted by this. And their confusion manifests itself by making bad decisions pertaining to what should go out on the tables. I feel bad for this imaginary person, I really do, but they need to stop punishing the rest of us for their inner turmoil.

I am not impressed by this casino at all! The food has been lousy each time and the service in the bar sucks! You would wait forever for a waitress if you did'nt go up to the bar and place your own order. Has happened each time we've been there. I don't like that you have to sit in one designated area to have a cocktail and cannot take it with you out to gamble. Blah! No thanks.

Gack! They let people smoke in the nightclub. So gross! I don't know what goes on in the rest of the casino and I suppose smoking is probably allowed everywhere here. Different rules for Indian casinos I guess. Once a year for the past six years me and my crew of girls venture out on the weekend for our annual girl's weekend and we boogie down at the nightclub. It is always kind of a funny crowd at the nightclub; creepy old coots, young Lincoln City locals, and everything in between. This time we had BB King's trumpet player trying to get some action. We all mix it up on the dance floor to mostly tragically old music with the occasionally decent song thrown in. After tossing back several vodka shots, it doesn't matter how old-school and passé the music is, we dance our asses off all night and we have a blast. The dance floor is pretty accommodating and the bartenders were lightening quick with those vodka shots. Because we all like to get hammered, we take a taxi. Our commute from our beach house in Gleneden Beach to the casino in Lincoln City is a super affordable $15.00 divided between 7 girls. Although we always have a blast, I don't think I could handle coming here more than once a year. The downside to the whole experience: Expect to smell like an ashtray when you leave because of the disgusting smoke.

I'm rating this place a 2 star only because I've been to at least 10 different tribal casinos and this one is well behind the times. We wanted a good buffet so I figured their buffet would be good, but I was mistaken. They do not have a large variety of different items and the food was plain, bland..now the ribs were good but the pasta was awful, real awful. The gravies for the mashed potatoes was bad. They didn't taste good at all, even when I added several amounts of salt & pepper. The roast beef was alright also. My waitress was slow and seemed like bringing us extra soda and picking up our plates was a chore for her. I am a craps player and love playing. Their craps dealers are below average at best. Several times they almost missed paying me the proper amounts and had to inform them of their mistakes. The game is played with only half the table since either they don't have enough staff, business or a combination of both. The pit boss roamed from all their card games and was very unprofessional. Very below the standards you will find at several other casinos. I was at the casino 2 nights in a row and the time was 10 pm until 1 am. I never was asked if I had a players card even if I wanted one. This casino is nice inside and out but dark inside. It could use a little more light. The bottom line is this casino needs a good management to go in and fix what's wrong. Only cause I like gambling I would return.

What can I say! I love Lincoln City and I stop in here every time I go to Lincoln City! Sure it's not the top of the line and its not the lowest of its class but its not bad as far as the inside goes. The buffet I have had better I have had it on good days but wow some time the service can be slow. I don't play the table games they just are not up my alley so I play the slots and they have been hit or miss with me.

im writing this review based on the casino only. I've not been to Las Vegas so I can't make the comparison, but I've been to many an Indian casino. In overall environment, its not bad, but customer service is lacking. My wife and I enjoy playng the slots mostly, but many of the.machines here are quite older and the new ones aren't any we've heard if before. They are however some if the tightest machines we've come across. Dropped about $70,with maybe gsung about $8 and this was in a Wednesday which in my experience us a better pay out day. Slots are located on two levels but the " smoke free" areas are a joke because the smoke doesn't stop moving just because you put up a sign. Table games and craps tables seemed old, but then again I don't usually play these. If your thinking about trying the buffet.......DON'T!!!! Food is overpriced, bland like a nursing home cafeteria, and the staff seem like its a burden to ne helping you at all. If you join the players club they give you $5 to get you started but that won't last long with the tight slots. Overall not a good experience for us. We can say we been there, did that but won't be back. Head up the road to Spirit mountain. Better food, service and looser slots.

Five stars for being a very friendly RV casino. Judging from the number of fellow RVers parked up on the upper parking lot...I'm sure we dropped hundreds in the casino and on food. Good location just off of the 101 and with an ocean view. One star for the very robotic and unfriendly lady at the Reward Center desk who is in need of some serious customer relations training. So only three stars. Too bad. We liked this place.

We go to Chinook Winds alot usually on sundays. We went to see Williams and Ree (comedy team)so it was our fist time being at the casino on a friday night. The show was great and Chinook has a nice room there for performances. I would see another show there in the future. I just would sure as hell not gamble more then $20.00 on a weekend night! I'm sorry those games/slots were rigged so tight I couldn't believe it. I always come out ahead on sunday afternoons so I was really bummed when I quickly burned thru $150.00 bucks. I did get a half sandwich and cup of chowder from the deli. It was good chowder but they put so much mayo on my half sandwich I had to scrap it off. Enough mayo for three sandwiches. I took my fellow Yelpers reviews and did not stay overnight at the casino lodging. We stayed at the Inn at Wecoma which was a good idea. I needed to separate myself totally from the casino or I would of gambled my husbands whole paycheck. People next to me were equally annoyed. I'm going to have to try Spirit casino. Alot of people seem to like Spirit casino. I cant even imagine how much money Chinook brings in. I would have better odds at winning the Ford truck they are raffling off then winning on a friday night. And,as Don B. pointed out No free alcohol. Whats up with that? Whatever!

This was the first time I'd ever seen the casino here. I don't really gamble much but it was a rainy day so we thought we would check it out. It has quite a few machines and I enjoyed the faux trees near the escalator. We mostly went in here to check it out as I had never been here. Looks like a lot of video gambling machines. I didn't see any tables but I'm told they have some here. I didn't check out the restaurants and upstairs they had a craft show in the conference rooms. I think if I were staying there I would prefer the connecting hotel to the casino like they have at Spirit Mountain. This place you have to get out in the weather to get into the casino. I think I'll stick closer to home and stay at the Grand Ronde casino.

Another update for the buffet. They fancied up the place and remodeled so I was hoping for some improvements. The food is all the same stuff which I think is OK. But they started kicking out patrons between breakfast and lunch which is totally LAME. That is a no-no when it comes to buffets. Your server will hover around you until you leave. Or they will talk loudly about how many tables in their area they are still waiting on. I think if you show up 20 minutes before lunch starts, you should at least have an option of paying the extra buck or two for lunch and not be rushed out of there once breakfast is being switched out. So what if I'm able to get a little bit of breakfast food before it's switched out? Big 'effin deal.

As far as casinos go, I'm not a huge gambler. I go maybe once a year. We decided this time at the coast to check out Chinook Winds. I thought the selection of slots was "meh", the timing was great (9am on a Monday?!?!), the staff was super friendly. We signed up for the Winners Circle card which got us free buffet. BONUS! But the buffet was kind of ass-flavored. Prime rib varied wildly from bite to bite. I couldn't eat more than a bite of the baked with skin chicken. The dessert buffet was good. The staff gets a 5, the rest gets a 1 or 2. I didn't stay at the hotel, just went in to spend a few hours trying my luck.

Went to the casino to see 3 Doors Down last night 1/18/14. They were great as usual but the $30 seats were horrible. They added rows of chairs at the back of the room, you couldn't see the band. We overheard an employee say they had oversold the concert by 200 tickets. I won't be watching another concert there. Also if you aren't a smoker don't go to Chinook Winds, it's like going to a stinking, smoky bar in the 70's.

It was my first time gambling so I was a total virgin when I came here to the Chinook Winds Casino. We bought the deal they have to where they give you 120 bucks in food tickets, 85 bucks in casino chips and a two or three night stay at the hotel. You can't pass up a good deal right? The hotel was nice for the awesome view of the ocean if you want to read my review about the hotel then I already posted it up. The casino was in walking distance from the hotel but if you have difficulty in walking the hotel has a shuttle that drives back and forth from the casino to the front of the hotel, so if you see a shuttle wave them down so they will stop for you, they are very nice and will stop to give you a ride. Once you get there the driver of the shuttle will say "Good luck" and you are off into the entrance of the casino. The first thing you will notice is that to your right is a non-smoking area part of the casino which has slot machines. The thing is that no matter where you go even into the non-smoking part you will still smell the smoke so it's pretty much a lose / lose situation when trying to avoid that. You can either be bothered or offended by it or you can ignore it and enjoy your time in the casino. I didn't have a card so I had went to the help desk or whatever you call it, the line can be large or can be small depending on what time you go or even day (Seniors day) you end up going on. So the people at the desk were very nice but their explanation of how to use the card and the slot machines was rather confusing. REPEAT I'm a virgin at gambling so I'm not an expert at this stuff, I had to have an employee on the casino floor explain it to me and actually physically show me how to use the card on the slot machines. So after I got the hang of it I used up about 10 dollars, didn't win anything probably my most favorite machine was The Wizard of Oz, lol yeah I know stupid machine to some but it was rather easy to understand and another employee came up to me and explained more on how to use it and other useful tips. So after gambling for the first time, decided to use the food tickets and went to the Buffet, it wasn't as busy but enjoyed the food there and I was pretty stuffed after that. The second day we wanted to use up the last of the casino chips or money whatever you like to call it. Used the last of it on the Wizard of Oz machine and decided to eat at the other restaurant which was SUPER busy and actually had to wait 90 minutes to get a table. The waiter we had was also terrible he came to our table three times to take our order and give us our drinks he never came back to refill our drinks until he gave us the check. I almost felt like not giving him a tip because he was that bad but I gave him five dollar bill because that's all I had in my pocket he did not deserve it at all! So after that we decided to hit the gift shop saw a wood carved bear which was nice, so while I purchased it and walked outside and sat down at some tables I had a security guard staring at me from the second floor for 10 minutes felt a bit scared or even intimidated. Had to head to the restroom before heading back to the hotel and went to the second floor and the security guard was still staring at me. What gives? Does he think I stole it or something? Why out of all the people in the casino was the security guy staring me down as if I was a criminal? After the restroom visit he was gone and I felt like complaining to someone but I was like "Oh well, I'm over it" All in all, first time gambling wasn't all that fun I don't see why people get addicted to it. I spent all of my 85 dollars but I saw people around me spend 300 dollars on one machine and that 300 dollars disappears within 4 minutes of playing. I am glad I wasn't a victim of obsessive gambling I consider myself lucky. One thing I didn't understand was that Spirit Mountain Casino has better celebrity guest appearances than Chinook Winds Casino. When traveling to the Casino I saw billboards "Don Rickles!? Oh...he's only appearing at Spirit Mountain Casino...Oh well.. Toni Braxton!? Oh...she's only appearing at the Spirit Mountain Casino. Ugh!" then I saw billboards for Chinook Winds Casino. "George Jones? Who is that?...The Amazing Jonathan, I've never heard of him before" Chinook Winds' entertainment seems to be rather stale.... Only thing worth going to see is Howie Mandel other than that... *Yawn* Maybe in the future when they have better deals I will come back here. But I am sure next time I come to a casino in Oregon I'm going to Spirit Mountain Casino.

I met my husband playing poker so when I found out there was a casino within miles of where we were staying on the Oregon Coast, I knew he and I had to check out their poker room. Sadly, my husband came down with a bad cold at the beginning of our trip so some of our plans were side railed. The entire family ended up coming here and eating in their steak restaurant for lunch instead of eating at the buffet. The food was great-and probably worth 4 stars, but I am too lazy to write a review of that place since it is not already listed. The casino is bigger than some, smaller than others. They have some table games (blackjack, craps, etc.) and lots of slot machines with a very small non smoking slot area. They also have a soda machine upstairs which is self service and a nice touch. Onto the poker room-small room with 3 tables. There are 2 daily tournaments and the poker room opens at noon and closes depending on how many people are there to play. The clientele is mixed-some visitors (like me) and lots of locals who seemed to know each other. They have an hourly high hand giveaway, and other types of bad beat bonuses set up which is cool and an incentive to stay and play longer. Since the husband didn't want to play poker, I only played for about an hour and a half. Met a couple of nice folks, and a couple of real douche-bags. All in all, it was just like any other poker room I have played in (and there have been many).

This review is for the steakhouse only. I ate there some years ago and remembered it as a most pleasant experience. This time was different. I was seated with a view of the beach and the table next to me (the last table next to the mirrored wall). The table was wet, had no napkin, silverware or sugars. I should have gotten up when I heard my waitress apologize to at least three other tables for her screw-ups. I ordered iced tea with no lemon. A different person brought me a basket of bread and an iced tea with a lemon in it. I told her I was allergic to lemon and even a tad of it would put me on the floor (Actually a lie, I just don't like lemon in my tea, but this prevents them from walking away, taking the lemon out and returning the same tea.) I told her I'd need a knife for the butter and a spoon for the sugar when they brought me some. I ordered the steak with steak potatoes and we discussed the sauce. A reasonable time later she brought me my French fries and fried chicken. I told her that this was not what I ordered, she asked me if I was sure. She took the plate and a minute later she returned with the French fries and a cup of their "famous" clam chowder. The chowder was so-so. The fries had parmesan cheese and parsley. A few minutes later she brought me my steak. I had real trouble trying to cut it with a table knife and after asking for a steak knife, I still had trouble. I asked her if these were the steak fries. She said, "Yes, these are our famous Rouge River steak fries". I explained to her the difference between steak fries and fries with cheese. Later, she came with the check and asked if I wanted dessert and coffee and I told her I was afraid to order anything else. They did knock $2 off my bill.

The Siletz Bay Buffet located on the second floor of the Chinook Winds Casino was a disaster. Where shall I start...The restaurant itself was not clean. The bussers were behind in cleaning table tops and there were not that many people eating. I would say they are understaffed if they are unable to keep up...now, onto the food. Gross-- is the first word that comes to mind.. Nothing is appealing especially when there is spilled, tossed food remnants all over the buffet tables. The salad bar was a mess. Absolutely filthy. I have truly never seen a more nasty mess at a salad bar. Spilled dressings all over, pieces of all sorts of vegetables and refuse all over the bar....it just was not being maintained or wiped down and fresh food was being added to an filthy salad bar. It was disgusting. The whole AREA that had food was simply dirty and unappealing. I actually tried a couple of things. The fried chicken was cold, old and tasteless, the mashed potatoes and gravy were like glue with a foul tasting gravy. The coffee tasted like instant sanka....I highly recommend NOT going here to eat. One star is being generous.

This review is for the Hotel only and the link has been forwarded to their customer service. Wow. Where to start? Let's start with the size of the room. The room we got for 81 dollars was about 8X10 with a full bath. It was TINY! We could have got a larger room at the motel 6 down the road for less! Cleanliness of the room. Windows were filthy. Floors dirty. Bathroom mirror had water spots. Hair all over the bathroom floor. The bed comforter was stained with spots of brownish red. There were cigarette butts outside our door due to people smoking right outside. Room Noise. My wife and I heard every sneeze, cough, fart, scream, and act of puking. All night long. The walls must be made out of cardboard. We could hear every conversation and argument. It was so frustrating. We didn't get a lick of sleep. If you're looking to stay up all night and party in a closet. By all means. Pay for a room at this rats nest. But if you'd like to be able to sleep at a reasonable hour, keep on driving.

They have the best smoked salmon chowder... so disappointed in the fact that they didn't have the smoked salmon chowder this time. The dessert buffet has gotten much bigger than the last time i was there and they also have a made to order pasta bar. The cook also makes fry bread and crepes with triple berry filling, I didn't try them but they did look very good.

This is a review of the concert venue. Went there this weekend for a concert. I know they are trying to get as much revenue as possible, but please, not everyone is small as these chairs. Kind of a weird arrangement with small tables in part of the venue with chairs that face each other and not the stage. So turning your chair, makes it super crowded. The concert itself was good, (other than some obnoxious people in front of us). I know the venue is usually the bingo hall, but can we please have an entrance that doesn't go through the smoky casino and maybe turn on some ventilation fans? I don't smoke and I really don't like the smell of it. As far as the casino goes, basically, it's slot machines with about 5 card tables and a couple roulette wheels. The non-smoking slots, well, I guess that means you can't smoke at them, because they sure aren't walled off or anything. I guess they don't realize smoke goes everywhere inside. I doubt I will be making a return trip to the casino, I like Lincoln City otherwise.

Cool place to spend a day looking out over the ocean's abyss and enjoying some gambling and drinks while you're at it. I've come to accept that I will never hit it big, and just resign myself to donating to Native Americans in this fashion. They have a lot of tables, and we were able to play blackjack and craps with the patient dealers and pit bosses who didn't mind when I cracked under pressure and couldn't make an instant decision. The casino isn't fancy, but it's nice to come to for a change of pace...

This review is for the casino only, not the hotel, which I haven't stayed at in years. Sure, it's located in a great spot on the beach. Typically I will drive right past the casino and straight to Road's End beach, one of the best (and least crowded) beaches in Oregon. But it was raining pretty hard last weekend and we were like, why not hit the casino? The parking lot was a nightmare. There weren't many signs, and apparently people just kind of drive wherever until they find a spot. No traffic control whatsoever. Walking from car to casino was the worst...my gf almost got hit, and she was in a crosswalk. It didn't get much better inside the casino. Crowded, smoky (even in the non-smoking section) and the bathrooms were inconveniently located at best. About 15 minutes later we were more than ready to leave.

Just saw Sylvia Browne there, and she was wonderful! We sat at a table and had a good time listening to her lecture. The ushers were a little bossy and unfriendly but then again they did have ushers and we did get to our correct seats.... so its not all that bad right? There needs to be a little bit better of a line system to get into the event. People were just crowded around the doors like mice waiting for some cheese. It was very hard to get through to get to the actual room where we needed to get in. Some lines would have been nice.... it made for a very anxious situation with everyone pushing, shoving, and bumping in to each other to get through. other than that it was okay.... get there early to get good parking. The parking is VERY limited-

Good stopping place after riding all day. Good food in the deli. The machines are extremely tight so if you expect to win you're not going to have a good time. They have a huge variety of machines to make it interesting and easy to find something you like. The room we had was old and musty with very dated furniture and fixtures. We actually went into two rooms and they were both the same so we figured they all were and stuck with the second one. Overall it's a good casino... nothing like our Washington casinos though!

OK Haters, prepare to hate. For our final night of our three day stay on the Oregon coast Miss Mona and I decided to hit a casino, have dinner and gamble a bit. To be honest, we almost passed on Chinook Winds because of the largely negative reviews from my fellow Yelpers. Being the voice of reason in our pairing, Miss Mona said she had been there before and " I know my tastes are not as high class as the people on Yelp, but I kind of liked it." Good enough for me. We got in from our hotel in Pacific City around 8 and decided to do a little recon before settling on where to eat. We both knew we wanted something special so we passed on the ground floor "snack bar". We headed to the second floor, and looked over the menu for both the buffet and the Rouge River Steak House. The buffet was an option, but we were both turned off by the lack of ambiance in the steak house. The room looked more like a VFW Steak Fry then a high priced beef palace. We had almost resigned ourselves to the carving station at the buffet as the source of our protein fix, (We had been eating a lot of sea food the last three days and I needed some cow, STAT!) when we decided to fall back on a tried and true tactic for getting a good meal. We asked an employee for a recommendation. The gentleman we asked told us that when ever he and his wife eat the casino, they went to "the restaurant at the hotel. They serve almost the same stuff as the steak house and it is a little cheaper." Sounded good to us. We hopped onto the Casino shuttle for the 5 minute ride to the hotel. When we mentioned to the driver that we were headed over to the hotel to eat, he seemed somewhat shocked. I believe his exact words were "WHY would you want to eat over there?" Hmmm...not promising. Well, we walked in the door and were seated in a half moon booth facing the ocean in about 60 seconds. The table appointments and linens were 5 star. Our waitress, Nancy, had our drink and appetizer order handled in just a few minutes. Coconut Shrimp and a Coffee Nudge for Miss Mona and Iced Tea for me. When our drinks arrived, I asked Nancy if the bartender had any simple syrup behind the bar, I hate a big clump of sugar in the bottom of my tea. Nancy immediately knew what I wanted and why and told me they didn't have any at the bar, but she would go make me some in the microwave. Now that my friends is customer service. The shrimp was perfect, crunchy on the outside, tender and moist in the middle. For our entrees, Miss Mona decided on the NORTHWEST MUSHROOMS & PAPARDELLE PASTA. This is the Season's best mushrooms, roasted garlic, fresh herbs, and Northwest goat cheese while I went for the Herb and Garlic crusted Prime Rib, which was 3 dollars cheaper then the prime rib at the steak house. Both dishes were in a word....EXCELLENT. The presentation was wonderful and everything was done to perfection. My only quibble would be that the horseradish that came with the Prime Rib was a little mild for my tastes. The mashed potatoes with shallots were sublime and the baby asparagus were tender and tasteful. Total cost for our meal...53.60, which I would say was reasonable for what we got. With our hungry spots tamed, we walked back to the casino, where I was treated to watching Miss Mona play the slots like they were her personal ATM. In less then an hour, she had paid for our dinner and then some. I myself, well, I would have done better if I had waited in the truck....LOL If you expect me to bitch about how smokey the place was, forget it, I am a smoker and it was a rare treat indeed to be able to smoke indoors for a change. Maybe my fellow reviewers happened by on a bad night, or maybe their expectations were set too high, but I got to tell you, I would recommend Chinook Winds and The Seafood Grill in particular, for anyone visiting the Oregon Coast.

"Bonus Round! Dundundun DUUUUN!" Anyone who has spent any amount of time at the Penny Slots knows how the cacophony of dings, zaps, clangs and chimes just stays with you even hours after you have left the casino. It's almost a sentient, mocking voice that follows you into your dreams, not content to allow you the luxury of beating yourself up over your stupid losses...oh no! It has to do it FOR you! So what if I was $40 up on a $20 bet on Money Tree? It's a perfectly honest feeling to believe I can triple that in the same game, right? Anyone else would have done the same thing! I mean, after three bonus rounds, you'd have to be a sucker to pass up such a golden opportunity, right? "NO!!!" I scream at myself from the future, reason and logic allowing me hindsight of the crystal-clear variety, "are you a COMPLETE moron? Walk away! You're up 200% in a casino! There's no WAY that machine will let you keep the money!" "Big deal, Future Me," says my cocky past self, "It's only $40, right?" "A profit is a profit!" I cut back, unable to backhand myself through the ethereal plane that divides us. "Take your money and run!" "It's only money!" my Past Self sneers with the oil-slick grin of one who would say such a thing only when in possession of the cash. "We're here for fun, right?" I say this to myself as though I am playing Mortal Kombat or something instead of hitting a single button on a screen over and over again. You know something, though? It really is worth it. There's something about the inherent risk (compulsory habits aside) that simply make the whole process exciting. You're GOING to lose to the House on any given day - luck itself being a fleeting and finicky companion. You're playing for the chance, the big score...and somehow, you forget the other 1,000 people there with you, diluting the odds. I enjoyed myself immensely - it's a fun casino, with all of the best games. It's a full-on casino, unlike that Eagle River BS, and I had a lot of fun. ...next time? Roulette! Those penny slots are just too damn slow at taking all my cash!

It never ceases to amaze me,how many non smokers piss and moan when they are in a casino about the cigarette smoke. Heres a news flash: IF YOU DONT LIKE CIGARETTE SMOKE DO NOT GO INTO A CASINO...I REPEAT.....IF YOU ARE OFFENDED OR DONT LIKE CIGARETTE SMOKE STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THE CASINOS! Any questions? Chinook Winds is what it is,and it serves the needs of those who give it business.

THANK GOD! Krystal, Collin and I finally made it to the better casino. We split up and played our separate games and when we made it back to the group, we were (combined) $180 richer. Thanks Indian gambling! Downside: I didn't eat any ice

It really is a nice escape to the coast if you're with your Mom who likes going to casinos. And if you like a marginally nice hotel room with beautiful views and a few steps to the beach. And if you like the generic hotel restaurant fatty food. And if you like gray hairs and loud teenagers around you. My dog wasn't too much of a fan. The casino is OK. Filled with Lincoln County residents on a Saturday night. Some new slots and lots in the $.01 areas. Smokey, of course. And if I were looking for a toothless sugar daddy, I coulda caught one. But the room service, super duper fast. Like lightening.

This review is for the concert venue. Came here on 5/20/11 to see Joel McHale stand-up. Paid $55 per ticket for a 45 minute show..not worth it. The worse part about the show was the set up of the tables and seats in the concert venue. It was HORRIBLE! Picture this, you sit at a long narrow skinny table that seats about 8 people..4 on each side of the table and you literally have to turn your head to the right or left depending on where you're sitting throughout the entire show. Now, the tricky thing about that is you have 3 people sitting next to you..so if you're looking to the side their heads are all in the way-not to mention the tables beside yours which makes it extra crammed for space. UGH! In a nutshell the seats do not face the stage..unless you're in the very front row. It was extremely frusterating..it also didnt help that the little old lady infront of me was cleaning out her ears through half the show. Really nice. I would not suggest going to see a show at chinook winds unless they change their seats/tables to face the stage directly. Besides that I actually was not too impressed with the casino itself..lost alot of money and didnt win any-its extremely smokey as well, they could use better ventilation system. There are much nicer/better casinos in oregon to visit. Skip this one if you can....especially the buffet! Eek.

Its hard to hate this casino resort, as there are so few casinos in Oregon that are located along the beautiful beaches and are as nice as this particular establishment. The parking is decent, the layout of the casino is nice, the service is fabulous, and the food is solid. It is not quite as spacious as Spirit Mountain, but the hotel is an ocean front property, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and only a shuttle away from the actual casino. The rooms are not cheap as they're about $160-$250 depending on weekday or weekend rates. The food has improved drastically here as the SIletz Bay Buffet is now larger and has many more options than before. I am impressed that the prices have remained the same, but the variety has gone up big time. Friday nights are seafood only and Saturday is a BBQ buffet. Personally, I am happiest with their breakfast buffet, which is only $7 a head. The casino is clean and the dealers are nice. I am not that blown away by the decor of the casino, as some of the cheesy neon, Vegas style ambiance is killing the overall beach front that Chinook Winds is supposed to be all about. High limit area is a little on the small side and the slow machines are abundant but it doesn't seem like it has the variety that the other in-state casinos have down south. Ultimately this property has improved tremendously, but not enough to give Spirit Mountain a run for it's money.

Not as smoky as the Casino's here in Washington, but I gather it's because of the high ceilings in this place. I was in awe walking in and seeing all the shiney blinking lights and games that I have never seen before. I felt like a kid in an arcade.... ready to put my money in to the slot and start playing.... that we did... I ended up donating my money to the casino, however wasn't disappointed with the atmosphere, or the scenery on the outside.... we will have to come out here again and stay at the resort and play all weekend. I enjoyed my few hours of play here.
