I went to their soft opening a few days before the grand opening. The had a limited menu so I ordered the chicken wings, the sweet potato fries, and the bahn mi sliders. The food was good, but the prices were a tad on the high side for small plates. The server explained they had just lost the chef and were trying to hire a new one. Our server was very good in explaining what was going on, so I was good with everything. But with that news, I decided to wait a few weeks before venturing back. I went back this week, and noticed they were using the dinner menu for lunch, and thus dinner menu prices. Ordered the bahn mi sliders, again, along with the ginger garlic mushrooms, and the ground pork and brussel sprout larb. The food was better than I had at the soft opening, but I must give them only 3 stars because I think their pricing is high for a lunch, considering the small and medium plate portions. The service was good, the food was good, and the server was very pleasant. I hope they adjust their pricing and their portions.

Had a great experience and the food was very tasty. Service was prompt and courteous... Best to you on a new business. Issac

Actually this place is pretty good. Drove past a number of times visiting relatives that live nearby and finally decided to try. The chicken wings were great, calamari good and the pork larb also good though could probably have done with some more hot sauce to liven it up. I'm always a bit suspicious of fusion places as everything is often average and dumbed down but here they seem to have done a reasonable job of keeping the flavours. My to go order was a bit delayed which wasn't ideal but will give them another go!

To keep things simple and to the point...it's "okay." It's clean, inviting and has what appears to be a good local crowd that provides an energetic balance to the random music playing in the background. It's a lively place and the wait staff are friendly and personable. The food is quick to turn and planted appropriately and the price to portion ration favors the patron for sure. So you ask how all of this but then only 3 stars...well, the culinary experience appears to be more Asian "confusion" and less Asian "fusion." Don't get me wrong...it's not bad, it's just okay. With a catchy name like "Aji Tram" your preset with high expectations...after all, it's not Chan's Kitchen. The tempura cauliflower was great...the fresh rolls were good, but their play on Pho was exceptionally buttery and the beef...well it left me chewing for awhile. But look here's the thing about the three stars rating, regardless of what you call the culinary influence there are two words you should never ever ever see on any Asian menu....Burgers and Fries! Its worth a try if your lookin for a place to eat.

Get the chicken wings and korean street noodles. Great atmosphere. Great service

I was impressed with this restaurant from the service to the appetizers all the way to dessert. I recommend the cauliflower appetizer and the Korean noodle dish. The large sizes mean large and could feed a normal person for a couple I days. I will definitely be back!

Went last night first time with a date. Atmosphere seemed lively but got pushed off to a back table with overtly bright lights. Ordered two beers (good selection including Tiger). Then ordered two small plates and one large plate. The small plates was one person's order and the large plate the other. The two small plates arrived first with two plates to share. When told it was one order, the waiter went OH! Waited until the second plate for my date to arrive before eating. It was a long wait. The large plate was a noodle chicken plate. The first of the small plate was the Calamari. It was not possible to eat. Like trying to eat elastic bands. Overcooked and totally tasteless, the hot fishy sauce just dumped in the middle only. Gave up trying to eat it after two mouthfuls. The second small plate was Brussels Sprouts in a fish sauce. Although tiny and in theory tender, they were rock hard and totally uncooked although apparently sauteed. Again, they were not seasoned at all and Vietnamese fish sauce just drizzled over the top. Inedible. The Large plate was noodles with vegetables and chicken. There were two slivers of chicken. The noodles were mostly clumped and the vegetables totally raw. The hot sauce over the top in a vain attempt at giving it flavor was just hot and not particularly tasty. Raw Sesame seeds copiously sprinkled over the top. Very poor ingredients, and a total lack of Asian culinary skills. In the open kitchen, not a sign of anyone of Asian origin. The waiter asked if it was good, I basically showed the two hardly eaten small plates and explained what I thought was the problem. He apologized, offered to make me another plate of each (by which time my date had consumed most of the noodles except for the clumps). And I simply said no thanks. Was given a complimentary small dish card for the next visit but simply returned it, again with thanks. The bill came for a total of $34 ($40 with tip). Will definitely NOT return and will NOT recommend it to anyone.

Great vibe, great food, new and modern feel. Service could be more friendly to match what you receive at other place in Portland but over all I love this place. Amazing Korean Street noodles. Fresh food, fresh vegetables locally sourced. Healthy and mega yum!

They do not understand the first rule of running a restaurant. If the people come, staff it accordingly. The people have arrived in large numbers, half the restaurant was looking around wondering when their food was coming. Another open kitchen showing chaos trying to push chow out. I waited over an hour and did not even attempt to ask for my refund. Another new joint that better get smart and hire staff members for busy evenings like a Friday. I have no clue how to rate this place because I never got a fork let alone my order. They were quick to take my money. The girl that took the order was very nice and friendly. My patients wore thin and walked

Party of three on a Sunday night. Seated promptly. Server friendly and helpful. Had four appetizers and three large entrees. The squid and chicken wing appetizers were quite good. The entrees were it failed. The Korean Street Noodles good, the Ramen very disappointing: broth brown with soy sauce but no flavor, pork belly tough, and the whole thing just didn't come together. The hamburger just ok, not enough Asian sauce to give that difference. I feel the menu is too ambitious, beyond the kitchen staff's skiils and understanding of various Asian cuisine. "Fusion" doesn't mean all mixed up, with no identity and character

Hubs and I finally tried this place because we had a coupon. Man, it was really tasty! My husband has no time for Asian food--but he had the fried prawns, I believe... he's a huge fan now. They also had some really tasty sweet potato fries. I had the pad thai, and it was really good. Service was great, but I will say it wasn't busy (it was early on a Tuesday evening). The decor is modern, but inviting. Our food was ready super fast! We will be back again, hopefully with some more friends!

  • Laura D.

I had high hopes for this place. The decor is cool, but everything you order tastes the same. They must use the same sauce for everything, an overwhelming (not in a good way) flavor that stays with you for days. It was disappointing.

First off, Welcome Aji Tram to the neighborhood. Second, thank you for a refreshing change of pace from the over priced and mediocre mexixan food or fast food restaurants that have been the standard on this side of the lake. My wife and I have been twice , once at lunch and once on a busy Saturday night. Both times the service was fantastic and food came out quickly. The menu is simple, fresh and very good. The food is a fusion of asian cuisines with a focus on great ingredients and what I would say is a lighter representation of popular dishes. I highly recommend stopping by for a quick lunch, a nosh after work or dinner with friends. There is something for everything and at $5 bucks for local IPA or pale ale its a good pkace to wind down as well.

Aji Tram is fire. Awesome location and decor. Wings, sliders, and the fried cauliflower are on point. Looking forward to coming back!

Lively Sunday evening spot. Pleasant decor . Ordered two "large" plates to go for a bill of $23.00. We found the food disappointing and the portions very small and mostly rice. This place may be ok for a drink and an appetizer, but we won't be back for a meal. Servers were pleasant enough though.

My wife and I have been by this place a few times and have been wanting to try it sometime. We went there today after running around town. I have to say from the moment we walked in the door we felt very comfortable and welcome. We were mainly just stopping in for a beer but ended up getting the chicken wings. Wow, they are spectacular. These aren't your ordinary wings that you dip in blue cheese, they are wings in a very flavorful General Tso's sauce!!! Anyone that knows me knows that I love General Tso's chicken. The bartender was very friendly and my wife's water glass was never empty. She even joked after we left that she drank so much water because he kept making sure it was full. Little things like that people notice. Eric the owner made it a point to ask us if we like things spicy which we both do. The wings came out with a delicious sauce and tasty peppers sprinkled over the top. They are awesome and you you should try them some time. We will be going back and trying many of the other great sounding dishes listed on their menu. I like the vibe of the place. The staff seemed to be very happy there and enjoying themselves while making our stay very pleasant. Doesn't hurt when you have guys that know what games are on and making sure we were able to keep up with all the college football action going on!! That meant a little bit more to me than my wife but she gets it!! I like the decor of the place and the open feel that is has. It has a great bar which I thought the craftsmanship was pretty impressive. My wife was laughing at me because I was noticing the cuts of the wood and how everything butted up to each other without gaps or spaces. Yeah I notice weird little things like that!! Anyway, very well done. Eric we will be back and looking forward to it. Thanks for a great experience! Doug/Holly

Outstanding! What a great new restaurant to open in Lake O. They have a great food and drink menu. I had the calamari, bahn mi sliders, and brussel sprout larb. Drinks are tasty and fun. Highly recommended. Such a fun and friendly staff! Check it out

Went here for lunch today and it was amazing! We had the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer, and the street noodles and ground pork and Brussels sprouts larb. Everything was delicious. Liked the decor inside (edgy Asian) and the music (trending toward alternative). Will definitely come back soon.

The food was really good. The problem is how disorganized everything is. We made reservations only to show up and be told there was no room and we had to sit at the bar. We then ordered two appetizers and two entrees. One entree shows up first then 10 minutes later our two appetizers showed up. We waited another 15 minutes to be told our other entree would be out in a couple of minutes. 20 minutes later we were told the same thing again. After an hour of waiting we cancelled it off our bill and left. Could be a great place if they were organized.

I've been here three times and had great food and great service on each occasion. The restaurant has a relaxed feel, and I like the open setting. Each time I've had a different server, and each one has been helpful, friendly and attentive. I've liked everything I've tried on the menu. My favorites so far are the fried cauliflower, sweet potato fries, Brussels sprouts and the Korean Street noodles. I appreciate that many of the dishes are Gluten Free, and the cocktail menu has some great and unusual drinks on it. Finally, the black sesame and Thai iced tea gelatos are a great addition to the menu. I have high hopes for this place!

  • Melissa S.

The Service is as good as it gets. Well balanced, friendly but not all over you. I love the very varied selections. We had great chicken pad thai, ramen, wings and fresh spring rolls. This is one of those places where things come out in the order the kitchen does them so be patient.

This place has amazing food and drinks. The favors in the food are so complicated and delicious. I can eat here every day!

Love this place! The service is very personable and welcoming. We ordered half of the menu and have no complaints about any of the food. I have been coming back multiple times per week due to the service and delicious food! New favorite local spot and love to support local business owners!

My new favorite hangout in Lake Oswego. Trendy, chic, restaurant/bar with bright colors and tall ceilings, very friendly staff who all wear a warm welcoming smile. Food is excelling and they will modify as necessary to your preference. The fried cauliflower is amazing! You cannot go wrong with what is on the menu! Aji has only been in business for a couple months but it is a hidden gem in Lake Grove!

Aji Tram, welcome to the neighborhood! We've been 3 times and love the atmosphere and the food. The popcorn shrimp (prawns actually) and the brussel sprouts are favorites, also the Korean dish I can't pronounce with the egg. I'd love for them to take another look at the wings, I don't think they capture the sweet/spicy flavor I'm familiar with in General Tso dishes. But that was the only misstep. The drinks were great, our server was attentive....we'll keep coming back. This small plates restaurant "feels" like Portland and is much more interesting than most LO restaurants.

    (5)
  • Dean L.

Indescribablely delicious, great vibe. Dino's was empty and there was very little parking. Very impressed with everything we had and we had everything from the burgers to Brussels sprouts. Just what LO needs! The owner is a stud as was our handsome server, Alex.

  • Sam G.

The neighborhood needed a place like this! Great ambiance to watch a game or to just enjoy drinks and dinner with your family/friends. The food is tastefully unique and and the service is close to none. You won't find another place with Asian food like it in the Portland Metro area. I've ate here a few times and the owner approached me each time and treated me with the upmost respect. I highly recommend this bar/restaurant to anyone

I wanted this place to be good. I really really wanted it to be good. It just wasn't. The brussel sprouts we ordered as an appetizer were actually pretty good. It was all downhill from there. They suggested a chicken and rice bowl for my daughter as they don't have a kids menu. It was literally a bowl of rice with 4-5 tiny pieces of plain grilled chicken. I had to order more chicken separately because my daughter, who is four, still had 80% of her rice left after eating her measly portion of chicken. The bibim bop was difficult to eat. I understand that it's "fusion" so it's their twist on the dish but this was gross. The rice was undercooked and still hard. The whole dish was very cold (on purpose I was told). My wife ordered bulgogi sliders. It was cold buns straight out of the bag with some bulgogi in the middle. So dry and hard to chew I had to order a drink. All three of us didn't even come close to finishing our food. Not because we were full. We will not be making a return trip. And nobody is sadder about it than me.

We had a large event at Aji Tram and could not have been happier with the service we received and the food was FABULOUS! Loved the Brussels sprouts, shrimp tempura and chicken wings. Thank you for allowing us to have the event on a busy Friday.

My husband and I had heard from friends that this was a great new place. They were right! I had the Korean Street Noodles and my husband had the Pad Thai. Both were wonderful. The service was wonderful. Will definitely go back!

OK - so granted, after reading some of the reviews, I am not sure about the service. I ordered take out. They did tell me 10 minutes and when I showed 20 minutes later the last dish was still coming out. BUT....let me say this.....My friends said the food was pretty good....but I have to disagree I think the food was AMAZING. I LOVED it, very flavorful!! Honestly, it's been a long time since I've had that flavorful of food.....of course I'm from San Diego, so my tastes are a little different than what you typically get in the area. Anyway - thank you guys, it was great!! I will say, I saw a review for 1 star - and just be aware that some of the LO restaurants are competitive and post negative reviews in order to run off business. My five stars are due to food taste only, not price or service (of which I cannot speak to except the guy that helped me was super nice). Based on the reviews, I guess I will plan plenty of time when I go back and do sit down dining. But thoroughly impressed :) PS i had the shrimp medium plate and the pork spring rolls UPDATE: I went back the very next day because I loved the food so much and ordered take out again. Food was ready on time.....some of the other reviews might have just been a bad day, because my friend said the service was great too

  • John E.

Decor is hip, trendy and cool. Food is okay, I had the chicken wings and Asian Caesar salad. The salad uninspired, actually it was not very good. The chicken wings real goopy and without a knife and fork difficult to eat. A previous post said not to irritate the owner and he was right the guy has an attitude. I'll give him awhile to get things together then try it again.

My wife and I went here for a date. We love this type of asian cuisine, and are often contemplating whether to drive to Portland for Pok Pok, Lucky Strike, Jade Tea House, etc. We thought we'd give this place a try since it's closer to Tigard. Aji Tram amazed us! The wait staff was very prompt, attentive and helpful. We started with the Fried Cauliflower and loved it. The sauce, spices and consistency of the dish were very well balanced. For our main dishes, we ordered the Korean Street Noodles and the Ground Pork & Brussel Sprout Larb. We really enjoyed both dishes and were constantly passing each other our plates so we could share with each other. We left very impressed and craving more. The only downside to this place is the location in Lake Oswego is a little off the beaten path, so it could be hard to get customers in there without them looking for it. Not sure if that is intentional though. We will definitely be back soon and telling our family and friends.

Being a lover of all things food related from Thailand, Vietnam and Korea, I decided to check this place out after looking over the menu online. Upon entry, the decor is certainly nice and inviting with vibrant colors, attentive staff right as we entered, and all the noises you would want to hear in a lively open kitchen environment. We chose to sit at the bar to catch a game that was on their TV and grab a casual dinner. We received our drinks and a few minutes later placed our food order. This, for me, is where it kind of lost me. Their menu is advertised as small, medium or large plated meals. I get that. The order in which food is prepared and delivered to you I do not get. We ordered the jungle prince, bulgogi, and street noodles for what I assumed would probably be served as an entree as they are from the 'large' plate menu. As it turned out the street noodles came first, followed by chicken wings? Then came the jungle prince followed closely by the bulgogi. Last but not least, but about five minutes into my entree?, came the edamame I ordered first. It through me off a bit, I'll have to admit. For the most part the food was decent. There was a noticeable lack of broth or sauce, or all around moisture on all the food except the wings. I'm not saying dry, just something missing. The edamame had also been severely overcooked to the point of them just pretty much being almost a soft paste once you broke into them, which was immediately evident by the color of their skin. It is a new spot, and I imagine still some kinks to work out, so I will give it another shot as I live in the neighborhood. It also sounds like they have a great HH which is always a plus.

The Korean street noodles with steak were amazing. Service prompt and friendly. Atmosphere very fun and upbeat. A really welcome addition to this area. A downtown vibe close to home. Love it.

I was recently up in Lake Oswego and decided to give Aji Tram a try and boy was I impressed. The service was phenomenal -- everyone was very friendly. I quenched my thirst with a delicious Mango Mojito then decided to try the Asian wings and felt that they were cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area!

Amazing. We passed this place on a drive in Lake Oswego, we decided to try the" soft opening," and were impressed. The service, staff, design was amazing. They recently opened their full menu, went back today for lunch and was totally impressed. Food was amazing, especially the "street noodles," w/ grilled chicken. Vegetables were tender and fresh. Lake Oswego needed something like this and it's a cool vibe, with the roll up garage doors. Service was great!

Restuarant is Ok, menu is small, parking can be bad. Some items are prepared and they warm up out of a bag. I Know this because one plate I wanted something removed, but they couldn't because of pre-packaged

Yay, a new reasonably priced casual restaurant in LO! Old-timers will recognize the location as the former Plaid Pantry on the corner of Bryant and Lakeview. The ambiance is more urban with concrete floors, high ceilings, and small tables. That set-up makes for poor acoustics so I felt like we were yelling at each other across the table. Would like to return in summer when the glass garage doors are opened up. I love Asian food but have a low spice tolerance so I ordered the ramen, which i thought would be a safe choice. Spicier selections are indicated with a red flame. Son ordered Korean street noodles with beef; Husband ordered the game hen, and we had tempura cauliflower as an appetizer. Hubby and I decided to split a Mango Mojito. My ramen came first, for some reason, but it was way too spicy for me. I couldn't eat more than 3 bites. Sipped away 1/3 of the mojito for some relief. Son's Korean Street Noodles followed, which was supposed to be spicy, but was not spicy at all. Everyone's favorite dish! The tempura cauliflower then arrived (I guess appetizers don't come before the meal here), which also had no indication of being spicy, but was very! I had expected tempura with a dipping sauce on the side, but instead it arrived coated in a spicy red sauce. I loved the flavor, and wanted to be able to eat it so badly! (thank god for that mojito) The Game hen had a golden crispy skin and came with a dipping sauce. Nicely done. We'll be back, and I'll order more carefully next time.

Wanting to try a new place for dinner last night, I remembered my neighbors, The Congers, mention the new Asian inspired place that a friend just opened up. So my wife and I decided to try it out. Driving up it looked pretty busy but it was no problem getting a table, but we chose to sit at the bar. Service was great even though it was pretty busy. Had a drink that included Habanero infused simple syrup (sorry can't remember the name) and it was very good. Just the right amount of heat. We also had the Kung Pao Calamari and really enjoyed it. Calamari was very tender and the sauce was really full of flavor. Also shared the Bulgogi steak skewers. The meat was tender and very flavorful. We will definitely be back to Aji Tram. Thanks Eric and crew.

Let me start by saying the vibes in this place are awesome, very young and hip with friendly employees who enjoy a little conversation. I had the bahn mi sandwich with fries and it was awesome! The food was very fresh and satisfied my taste buds. I will be back to try the rest of the menu and see how they do dinner! Also, the server Alex was amazing! I felt like he really knew the menu and understood what to recommend to me!

Good neighborhood restaurant, with the potential to be great. It's a new restaurant with a young entrepreneur owner and that shows...the service is a little off and the food isn't perfect yet. However, the flavors and inventiveness of the menu make it clear that there is real potential for this place. Perhaps my favorite thing about this place is that the kids choices are great and reasonably priced. My kids love it. And we don't have to eat at Red Robin once a week. Hopefully the owner embraces the feedback from his customers and dials in the details.

First time in this new neighborhood restaurant. We had the Bahn Mi Sliders, the Vietnamese Ceviche and the Korean Street Noodles with chicken. The sliders were our favorite, spicy and flavorful. The noodle dish was tasty and plentiful, with the string-beans providing a crunchy counterpoint to the noodles and chicken.

  • Maddy G.

I only gave them one star because they did a good job on the design of the restaurant. Unfortunately that doesn't matter if the food and drinks aren't up to par. The drinks lacked any alcohol and at $8 a piece, I'd say that's a problem. We ordered the Asian Caesar Salad. It consisted of old romaine lettuce and dressing. The menu stated that it included "seasonal vegetables", but there was only old brown wilted lettuce. No garnish even. The server just said that they were changing chefs. Not a good excuse if you ask me. The Korean Street Noodles were extra greasy. One bite was enough and the rest was left behind. My father couldn't even chew the beef and had to spit it out. The server didn't offer to take it off of our bill and didn't offer to add the seasonal vegetables to our salads. We will not return. It's a waste of a dinner, waste of money, and a waste of time. There are so many amazing restaurant options in Portland, this place is not one of them.

My wife and I have become very fond of this new Asian fusion restaurant in Lake Oswego. We have eaten there about five times and have tried about 90 percent of the menu. Everything has been very flavorful. Special favorites are the bahn mi sliders, the Aji burger and the tempura popcorn shrimp. There is also an excellent bar menu and I especially enjoyed the Sensei Sunrise. The staff is extremely pleasant and it is nice to see the owner, Eric, present and interacting with all the customers to ensure their satisfaction. The food has come out quickly every time we have dined there. I actually like the way works -- food comes out not in courses, but whenever the prepared dish is ready. It encourages sharing. The prices are more than reasonable and the atmosphere is comfortable and casual. I hope they add a dessert menu at some time in the future, and also expand their offerings for kids. Otherwise, not only do my wife and I have no complaints, we have only raves and have recommended this restaurant to all our friends.

What a delight this new restaurant is! Located just south of the Lower Boones Ferry "restaurant row" (la Provence, Ricardo's, Babica Hen, etc.) this is a gem to discover. We had the cauliflower, tempura shrimp, and jungle prince: all excellent. Young, personable owner is inspired by his travels to Thailand and Vietnam. Wait staff pleasant. Full bar and decent wine offerings. The only thing I would change about this experience would be the noise level. While the energy is good, it can be difficult to have a conversation.

I liked it a lot. Host and waitress both extremely nice. My wife and I both liked our food. They have multiple options for wine, beer, cocktails and sake. I'm sure we will be back again.

We love this place! Atmosphere is really nice, food is delicious and authentic, and drinks are awesome. The owner Eric is a great guy and we really like Brody the bartender. There is nothing else like this in the area. I love the happy hour, and if you haven't tried the bulgogi sliders then make those your next choice. Great job guys.

I really enjoyed this place. Delicious food and cocktail. However, my husband and daughter thought it was wannabe Asian food....They did not think that portions were big enough for what you pay.

  • Charlie O.

The atmosphere is incredible ! When you walk in the door and it's not busy, don't be afraid to walk up to the bar and greet the staff. Adam Garside is the main chief behind Eric the owner and he's always a pleasure to be around. Ask the staff for advice on the entrees (even though everything is delicious), also look at the special boards which is where I always order from. They can rent out half of the restaurant for special parties and it's also a great place to bring the fam! Overall I give it an A+

    (5)
  • Payton T.

Nice atmosphere, got the brussel sprouts for the small plate and they were really good. Meal kinda fell apart at the entree however. Ramen was not very good and the Korean noodles were better, but I wouldn't ever want to order it again. They may have some better things on the menu, but of the things we ate. Not close to my favorite.

Came here for happy hour on a recommendation from a friend. This place did not disappoint. Since this was my first visit I asked our server, Aubrey, for suggestions. We ordered the Aji chicken wings (a must have), the shrimp tempura and banh mi sliders. Everything was delicious, full of flavor, tasty! The staff are super friendly and quick. Great customer service. Very nice, casual atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back.

This place has been on my bookmark list for months. The experience here did not disappoint. 1. Service is good but it can be a bit slow. On a Sunday starting around 5 this place filled up quickly. The bar seemed to have trouble keeping up. No awful just apparent that their timing was slowing down quickly after 5:30. 2. The atmosphere is nice with a large open dinning area. Seating is fairly comfortable chairs and padded banquets. It gets a bit noisy with the high ceilings but it is manageable. 3. Their food is excellent. The Brussels sprouts are awesome as are their chicken wings. I had a special, Asian corn dogs which were tremendous. Portions are large especially the noodle dishes. If you do not like spices you may not like many of the dishes. They do not seem to have the ability to reduce spiciness' levels. 4. Prices are expensive but I guess it is after all Lake Oswego.

It's good to scout places like this to savor it a bit before springing it on my family. They'll like it, I'm confident. The fresh rolls and peanut sauce were fantastic. The wings had too much sweet, spicy chili sauce for me, but the crispy tempura was perfect and satisfying. As other reviewers have noted, it's spicy, so ask for the sauce to the side to cut the heat. I'll do that next time to cut the soggy, sticky factor. It was mostly empty when I came in around 4:45--perfect for me because I was hungry and still had errands to run. I just wanted something yummy and fast. The food came out quickly and the service was friendly and efficient. I'll try the Brussel sprouts and cauliflower next time when I come back with my family.

Amazing service!! Fantastic food off the beaten path (or what seems to be). Being from the Bay Area, I had no idea where to go for dinner while in town on business. Came across this gem on yelp... And boy am I glad! I shall return next time I'm in the area!! I highly recommend the Korean street noodles if you like spicy. Thanks everyone at Aji Tram! And thanks for the brussel sprouts (also super delicious - crispy not soggy)!

My ears perked up when I heard there was ramen in Lake Oswego, so I hightailed it over there to give it a try. Their location is somewhat off the beaten path, so hopefully enough people find them, because my first visit was enough to make me a fan. I want to try everything on the menu! Weekday lunchtime that I was there was pretty quiet, so food didn't take long at all, and service was friendly and prompt. I had the ramen (of course). It's $10 and while I thought the bowl looked small, it was definitely enough food. The broth is a bit spicy, and pretty rich and meaty. Not too salty either. The noodles were not cooked enough - they were a tad chewier than they should have been, and there were sections where the noodles were clumped together tightly and didn't separate. I think they could have used another minute or two in the boiling water before being put in the soup. Luckily it wasn't dried ramen - definitely refrigerated noodles, just not cooked quite long enough. The quail egg on top is a cute touch. The pork belly was sliced very thickly and was somewhat crispy. Also came with enoki mushroom, some greens (kale?) and a few slices of fish cake. Not the best ramen I've had, but if the noodles were cooked a little longer, I would get it again. The bahn mi with pulled pork was frikkin' amazing. OMG, give me one of those sandwiches any day. Fresh soft bread, and the meat was tender and incredibly flavorful. A little tangy, a little spicy, not subtle, and so delicious. It came with a side of sweet potato fries, which were good but needed salt. 2nd visit we went for dinner and tried a bunch of things. The Korean Cauliflower was fried and covered in spicy chili sauce, and the pan-fried Brussels sprouts were pretty tasty. I had the Korean Street noodles with chicken and though that was the best thing on the table. Son's Bulgogi beef skewer was good - he ate the whole thing plus the bed of rice, and it came with a good amount of veggies. Hubby had the Bun bowl - warm, at their suggestion since it was a cold night - and he loved it. Our server at dinner was totally on the ball and food came out quickly. Aji Tram definitely smacks you in the face with bold flavors but none were over the top or too spicy. I think I have a new favorite restaurant!

"They have wings" - 3 simple words that will have A following me to any restaurant. So with 3 simple words I won the "What do you feel like having tonight?" battle. In an unassuming strip mall, I probably would've never found this place without Yelp. It definitely breathed a Portland vibe in our little suburban neck of the woods. A started with a Tamarind Whiskey Sour that looked delish. We chose the Korean Street Noodles with Shrimp, Bibimbap Mixed Grill with Steak, and, of course, the Aji Chicken Wings. The waitress brought out a cup of wetnaps, which upped the saucy anticipation. The noodles and bibimbap came out first. I'm guessing because the wings were gonna be so messy. The noodles were good and the shrimp were peeled all the way to the tail so you could every morsel. The bibimbap was also really good. The rice was topped with stir fried veggies, a cold mushroom salad, a sunny side up egg, and the steak was marinated and cooked well even though there were only a few chunks. The chicken wings were indeed messy. I was kind of afraid of them slipping out of my hand and hitting A in the face. Good thing we're married. No backsies. They were the perfect amount of crispy, juicy, and meaty. They reminded me of the ones at Shandong. Good stuff! They just added gelatos and vegan sorbettos to the menu. So we ended with a cup each of coconut ginger and chocolate. Both were a good end to the meal. Checking in on Yelp gets you 5% off the bill. Sweet! We're excited to try out the rest of the menu!

Tried this place for dinner and it was pretty good for Asian Fusion and reasonably priced for LO. I had bibimbap and the appetizer rolls. It wasn't over-the-top great but it was pretty good.

Amazing, tried three main dishes and several sides. Every one has been great, the cauliflower is perfect with a sweet ginger sauce, the wings have a good amount of heat, and the steak skewer was perfectly marinated. The complexity of flavors in every dish was outstanding, and the service has been pretty good and very helpful in picking good dishes. I highly recommend Aji Tram! I have been told by many friends that their calamari is great but I have not yet had the chance to try it.

Kind of a confusing ambiance, but great food! Good wine and hard alcohol selection, very well made mixed drinks, and a few solid microbrews on tap. The wings, pad thai, and cauliflower are my favorites so far - but I'm sure there will be more when I come back. Service has always been prompt and friendly. The kitchen is relatively open door, which is always nice. I'll definitely be back.

I really liked the place! The waitstaff were very friendly and welcoming! Even though the place is small, it does come with a full bar and a few TV's. The open kitchen allows customers to see and feel the high energy by the chefs, overall, this is a young and hip place to be! A few things that could improve... We placed an order for fried cauliflower, but I think the order never got to the kitchen, We ended up getting it at the end of our meal when it was supposed to be an appetizer. HOWEVER, I loved it because the batter was made with rice flour, making this dish gluten free, and the rice flour makes the cauliflower extra extra crunchy!. Seasoning was good too - a little spicy. Matt's burger got to the table first (still after about a 10- to 15-minute wait), while my Korean street noodles were nowhere to be seen. I insisted on Matt starting without me, and the waitress came to reassure us that because everything's made fresh, the dishes come out at different times. I'm OK with that and I completely understand, that with a smaller kitchen, it's harder to time things. ... Matt finished his burger. No Korean street noodles. No cauliflower. (At this point we didn't know the cauliflower order did not get placed). FINALLY the Korean street noodles were served, but I was a little surprised - why is it made with pho noodles? I was half expecting jap chae instead of pho noodles. Pho noodles were too soft and slimy for this flavor-packed dish, I feel. I wanted something with a little more substance. BUT, the flavor was definitely there, a little too salty for me, but the dish also comes with an abundance of steak and veggies - a real complete meal!! Lastly, after checking with our waitress, we realized that the cauliflower order was never placed, so we decided to order it anyway even though we were done with our meals. When it was finally served, I felt that it was truly worth the wait. It was probably the best thing that we tried all night - crunchy shell with soft (and VERY HOT) cauliflower florets with a punch. I loved it! I'll come back and try some of their other stuff. I think the restaurant is still pretty new, so I am looking forward to other things being improved and added!

This place has a downtown Portland feel, and its in Lake Oswego. It reminds me a little of Pok Pok, but without the drive or the wait. They have Korean Street Noodles that is spicy and good, the Fish Sauce Chicken Wings Im always a fan of, and the Bibimpap with steak is also good. If your craving asian style cooking, don't come here. Its more of a asian fusion kinda restaurant.

This place is a WINNER! I love the food here. When I don't have it for a week, I miss it, that's how much I love it. Everything I've had has been delicious and the staff is super friendly and attentive. They always have great specials too! You have to get the fried Brussels sprouts and I'm a big fan of the calamari. Drinks are amazing too. I could rant forever. It's a Portland place in lake Oswego. Go! You won't regret it!

I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't sure what to make of an asian fusion restaurant in Lake Oswego with a caucasian owner.... The space is nice. Open, friendly, bright, and trendy without being too ostentatious. Kids still seem welcome. My favorite were the crispy brussel sprouts (not the brussel sprout larb) 5 stars!! Roasted just perfectly with a great fish sauce. A few chilis sprinkled in that are quite spicy but are perfect together. The bulgogi sliders were quite good. 4.5 stars. Much preferred over koi fusion, albeit much more expensive. The roasted artichoke was also quite good. I think it was a special though so might not be available all the time. 4 stars. The chicken wings were pretty good. 4 stars. The ramen was a bit disappointing... 2 stars. Only been there once so can't speak for everything but will definitely be back as so close to my house.

First of all Audrey and Adam are awesome! Audrey met us at the door with her million dollar smile and spirited us away to our table. The food was fast, fresh, and delicious! I had the passion fruit vodka mixed drink and it was pretty good but overall service was a 10 and food was a strong 8 (which is typically a 10 for others). Drop in, you'll be glad you did.

Great place, but a little on the pricy side. Their small plates so we ordered 3 for 2 people. It was plenty of food and came to $32. We had the wings, calamari and Korean street noodles. Wings had awesome flavor, but a little too much breading for my liking. Noodles were excellent. Calamari sauce was good, but calamari it's self had very little flavor and was small pieces. Overall a 4 because of value. I would recommend and eat here again myself.

Good food, really reasonably priced with decent sized portions. Service is super friendly and really tentative. One thing! Girls wear their hair down whole they're serving and it really grosses me out! I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, and I'm a girl, we all shed!! When you work with food, your hair should be pulled back (in my opinion).

This place is clean and friendly. We tried most of the appetizer and multiple drinks. The waiter was very attentive and our food was delivered very quickly. Everything was very good and highly recommended. If your in the area you need to try this fun and awesome dining location. We lived the experience.

Talk about winning! This place blows my mind. I have always been a sucker for Asian fusion and am a Korean-American, so they hit close to home. Love the flavors and spices, the amount of heat used in the dishes! Brussels sprouts, Korean Street Noodles, Sweet Potato Fries, and Bibimbap (my favorite with steak!) have all been spot on. Service is attentive but not overly, and friendly too. What an odd location for such a wonderful gem! I will be returning...and with friends! :)

After a second try, I've decided to bump my review of Aji Tram up by two stars. My initial visit here was not a pleasant one, but that was partially due to a rude fellow diner at my table and the highly stressed owner. Yes, the owner snapped a little, but I feel that it could have been avoided if the other diners had been more polite and the owner had stayed more composed. However, after being embarrassed by my first experience, I went back and tried the food again. It was all extremely fresh, especially the vegetables (they had a nice crunch). The spice was toned down from my first visit (when I almost cried), which I found appropriate for the style of food and my own personal tastes. I thought the portions were good, but you're paying for the flavor. If you're going to Aji Tram, expect "loud" food, with strong and spicy flavors wrapped in a fresh asian package. The food doesn't overpoweringly scream at you with its flavor, but it's loud enough to kick in just the right way. Also, I've heard that the drinks are outstanding! As I said in my first review, the decor is spot on. The theme is very well put together, and it's obvious that a lot of thought went into the design. The bold red walls match the bold spice in many of the dishes, making everything cohesive. Once I come back more over the next few months, I'll keep trying the dishes and see how consistent everything is. This restaurant has enormous potential, it just needs consistency and good customer relations. This trip had very good food and made me feel welcome, which I'd like to keep seeing going forward. Down the line, I can see adding a fifth star to my Aji Tram review. To me, five stars means great food, decor, and service. The food, decor, and service are pretty spot on, but at the core the ownership must make customers feel like they're heard and welcome. While my most recent visit was near-flawless, I want to keep seeing the same consistency and a welcoming warmth in the future. Aji seems to be on the right track, meaning that mine (and many other) five star reviews should be on their way.

Where to start? This place just keeps getting better! I've frequented Aji since it has opened and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is just damn good. Every dish is packed with flavor and they usually add different dishes on a weekly basis. I always find myself struggling to make a decision on what to order. I will say that I do LOVE the Banh mi, a sweet and spicy sandwich delivered from the heavens. They make it with a baguette that is softer than a traditional Banh mi and it just works! What really caught my attention is their rotating beer selection. Aji has managed to have some of the best beers from Oregon on tap. They even had seasonal beers during the Holidays. Overall, I think Aji is a great restaurant and brings something different to the area. I've seen nothing but improvement over the last couple of months. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!

Really wanted to like this place. A pan-Asian casual spot in Lake Oswego sounds great. So the pro's: super friendly staff really working hard to please. The crispy brussel sprouts were delicious, just the right note of spicy against a light sweetness. The banh mi sliders were also tasty. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was disappointing. The Korean tempura cauliflower was too heavy on the batter (tempura should be light and airy, not so thick and crunchy) and SOAKED in gochujang sauce - so spicy it was inedible (and I love spicy food). The ramen was completely bland - real ramen should be packed with savory flavor; and the pork belly tasted like old pork rind. The Korean Street Noodles would have hit the right mix of sweet spicy crispy noodle with cool fresh julienned veggies, but the whole thing was burned, so the only flavor was smoke. Maybe just an off day?

Had first experience at Aji Tram tonight. Ordred the fresh rolls (sm plate) and beef skewer (large plate). Fresh rolls were fine @ $4. They were your basic salad roll. But, the $12 "large" plate consisted of ONE small beef skewer over a bed of rice and steamed vegatables. Complete ripoff for what you get. Skewer was good,...not great, not OMG, definately not worth $12. Had a light beer for $5, average for LO. In summary: this place is too over priced for what you get. I don't know if they are trying to be swanky (it's not), or hip (it's not). IDK.

I wish that Yelp offered a rating for their great food and another one for the very crappy service. The food is outstanding. Some of the best in the city, but it really doesn't matter much if the dining experience sucks. I have eaten here 6 or 7 times and at first I gave some of the flaws to opening jitters and lack of experience. But after dining there this weekend I feel I need to share this review and Eric you need to listen. Systemically there is a service flaw at Aji Tram. It starts with the owner and certainly is exhibited by the incompetent and aloof female waitstaff. Frankly the two guys that have served me seem to understand the client/server relationship and I have never had bad service from them, but the ladies are a different story. The systemic issue is that the customer is always right -- even when they aren't. On Saturday I had one of the worst experiences that I have endured in a Portland restaurant. I had my daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren with me. The server forgot to order two children's meals (so when one arrives how do you split it between two kids???) and after waiting 45 minutes for food we still had no second burger and fries for my kids. Are you kidding me? This is either the simple lack of respect for the server by the kitchen (worked the line in my youth) or simple stupidity. At the end of the day the server wanted to argue with me when I asked for the food to go when it came up because my timeline with a 5 and 2 year old had expired. I was very kind despite my frustration and said, "I know everyone has a bad night and it is obvious you guys are having some issues, so please put my order go boxes." At first I got the argument of we had only been waiting 47 minutes (no kidding) and after I insisted for go boxes the server couldn't tell me if we had very thing we ordered because "she couldn't remember." We weren't the only ones having issues that night at Aji Tram. I saw a man super frustrated for waiting for a to go order and then being dissed by both the owner and the hostess. I really want this to be a successful place and love the potential vibe of the setting, but wake up and find some experienced servers who will keep your customers instead of alienating them.

Nice open air vibe reminiscent of some of the more popular Portland Asian fusion restaurants. Excellent drinks recommend the Aji Mule. Food very good. We had the street noodles with steak. The steak was very tasty and as with most ingredients on the menu was "local" and "organic". The noodles were said to be spicy but I did not find this to be true... Maybe Considered spicy for most LO folks. The banh mi pork sliders were again very good. The papaya salad was refreshing. Not spicy at all which was fine but I'm use to Papaya salad being made fairly spicy. The wings were my favorite of our dishes with a sweet semi spicy glaze. The service was excellent! I'm giving 4/5 stars for what i think of is value. My own idea of taste:cost ratio could be more favorable. With cost I'm considering portion size, ingredient quality, and $. So given this the price seems slightly high or the flavor could be a bit improved. But still 4/5 stars is really good! I will be back.

Came for lunch on a Sunday, great and attentive staff- super friendly! Also happy hour the previous Friday... Love this place! Only advice - the papaya salad veg should be cut thinner so it can be spun on a fork - like spaghetti... It's difficult to eat without a knife otherwise... Also, a trio of dipping sauces would be great, as opposed to the two that come with the sweet potato fries and popcorn shrimp.. The curry is fantastic, bomb Brussels sprouts, popcorn shrimp is amazing, and I love the wings and fries. Rad local neighborhood spot with good sake and house wine!

I discovered Aji Tram using my Yelp app and it's now one of my favorite places to eat in the Lake Oswego area. I have been for lunch, happy hour and dinner and can honestly say I have loved all their dishes and cocktails. I have tried just about everything on the menu and its always fresh and full of flavor. It's slightly off the beaten path, but once you find it I guarantee you will return again. Aji Tram offers lots of gluten free plates and accommodates dietary restriction well.

Loved the atmosphere! Eric the owner told me to get the street noodles and the tempura shrimp. I highly recommend it! The tempura shrimp were crispy and the sauce was on point. I also had the Thai chilies margarita and I normally don't like spicy drinks, but it wasn't too much and ordered another. This place is a great addition to LO.

Brought local friends for dinner based on reviews. We enjoyed hope eclectic the menu is, with a variety of interesting choices. Our party had two steal specials in a sake garlic sauce over soba noodles, the green curry, and the ramen noodles. We started with the crispy brussels ( not crispy) and the cauliflower ( too crispy). All flavors were bold, almost too much. Service was attentive. Ambiance was great since the front was open. The place was packed on a Thursday night. That should tall you something.

My husband and I consider ourselves quite the "foodies." We love to eat out and judge a restaurant by of course, how great the food tastes but also how unique the offerings are, and we want to leave feeling like our bill was fair for the fare! The establishment needs to feel and look clean, and the servers need to appear well groomed and with good morale and be attentive. That all said, Aji Tram has become our favorite local restaurant and we feel lucky to have it so close to where we live! The dishes are innovative and made with quality and healthy ingredients and the food tastes so amazing there that we think it compares to some of the best Asian restaurants in Portland. Several reviewers have complained that some of Aji's food is too spicy, but one of the things we love is that the restaurant represents the authentic cuisines of various Asian countries like Vietnam, Korea, and Thailand, and the use of various variable-heat chiles are inherent to those cuisines - but which makes Asian fare, we think, different and exciting and raises those feel-good endorphins! BUT for those who have more mild tastes, there are many incredible items on the menu such as salad rolls, Pad Thai, chicken skewers, tempura shrimp, lettuce wraps, etc., available and which are kid-friendly. What comes through in such a big way at Aji and echoed by many people we know, is the passion and presence of the owner, Eric, who is very hands-on and encourages feedback. The planning & creativity of both Eric and Sean (the chef) to utilize local and fresh ingredients (were told that they grow many of their own herbs and veggies), and to constantly be experimenting and creating new dishes utilizing seasonal seafood and veggies, really comes through. And last but not least, as is so important... is the good cheer that exudes from Eric, Sean, Adam the manager, Brad the bartender, the cooking staff who are visible in the open back kitchen and a group of servers who seem to really love what they are doing. The (often, open-air) restaurant has a lively atmosphere but feels exceedingly comfortable and unpretentious, w/ a bar and separate bar table seating (perfect for singles, too). They have unique specialty cocktails and a great rotating selection of draft beer & sakes with discounted prices at Happy Hour and also on select food items. We just can't say enough about this neighborhood gem. HIGHLY recommended!

Okay, here's my take: The food is really good.... The flavor is great & the place is awesome. I actually went to high school with the guys who run it. Great job guys! Here is why I am giving it 3 stars... I think the flavors are fantastic (I love the brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and the calamari), but the heat is unbearable. I've been here twice. First time, it was alright, again great flavor, but so spicy I couldn't enjoy it. Told myself that next time, I'll order everything mild. Did that, and came out the same level of spicy. A little disappointed. Anyways, I just wanted to write this hoping it would bring attention!

Visit number 2 and just as amazing as the 1st. Great food, great service, and great environment. It's nice to not have to drive into downtown Portland for good food and a great atmosphere. Lake Oswego really doesn't have anything like this, and it's about time they did!

Not even "Asian fusion". I tried to like this restaurant. Have dined in and had take out. The food was hot (temperature wise) and well packaged for take out. It's just bland, and a miss. Has to be the worst ramen I've ever had. The flavors aren't quite right. Just go up the street to Pho Lavang. Or even better: Binh Minh off the 99W for good authentic Vietnamese. Thai is available everywhere so if they must put that type of cuisine on the menu (and so near Pok Pok) it'd better be good. It's all sub par. From the sweet sticky smells coming from the bar, I'd guess it's not very clean either. My drink was the best part of my meal and the guy that waited on me was very nice. Nothing personal, but the food is just not good.

I love that there is a new local business opening in my neck of the woods! I have been here twice now and both experiences were great. My first visit I had a steak kabob with rice and seasonal veggies. My second visit I had the calamari, fresh roll, and the rice noodle dish. All were great. My only complaint is that I wish there was a bit more calamari on the plate. For being family style I would hope for a bit more. Everything else was great- my brother enjoyed their burger and my mom liked her Caesar salad. I think the caesar could have a bit more flavor but nothing offensive about it at all (it is an Asian fusion restaurant everyone should order something other than just a salad!!). I ordered my noodles with steak but they came with chicken. The wait staff immediately came and offered to fix it but I am not picky, the chicken was great! My waiter (Tom) was excellent and friendly. Everything came out quickly and he gave helpful advice as to what we should order. I will be back to hit the bar and give the drinks some reviews. Great first few experiences here.
