Keizer,OR: The DECOR! OMGosh! Fun Jalisco decor! That is, the owners are from that Mexican state. Decor was generally ?not kitschy but tastefully done, so bright, and cheerful! FOOD Chirizo Enchiladas Shredded Beef Chimichanga 2 Shredded Beef Tamales 2 Chicken Enchiladas with Verde Sauce + sour cream Carnitas de Rez Average sized portions but quite tasty. Fresh, fluffy rice side dishes were made from scratch and not an instant product. The Chimichanga was light in quantity of the shredded beef filling but made up for by great taste. The Chorizo Enchiladas were enjoyable and consumed completely in no time. Ditto for the tastiness of the other dishes ordered. The salsa for the chips is available in both mild and good hot versions. We also recieved three plates, for five of us, of whipped beans and a lightly spicy, chopped cabbage salsa that accompanied the chips. Unusual, yet so delicious. I am told the decor is similar at their other locations. Absolutely loved the hand painted sinks in the clean ladies' rest room too. Look forward to returning or even trying their other locations. Prices a little on the higher end of average but that bean dip and fresh cabbage salsa is amazingly good and worth stopping in for. Very friendly and warm staff.

Home made tortillas!! Sizzling Fajitas!! We have been to this location several times, but currently go to the West Salem location. Both are very consistent, reasonable prices and the huge portions you expect from a Mexican style restaurant. Very tasty and filling food with authentic flavors. Average $8-13 per person dinner. Staff is top notch!

This is a ultra-Americanized Mexican restaurant. The service is very good, but the food quality is subpar. Coming from a Mexican family, I could honestly say that this is the worst Mexican food that I have ever put in my mouth. The quality of the comparable to "enchilada day" or "taco day" at my high school. If you want real, cheap, and authentic Mexican food, drive 15 miles down I-5 and take the exit to Woodburn; where you will find dozens of Mexican restaurants eager to serve you some real stuff. Overall, La Hacienda Real is just a fancier version of Taco Bell. I should have stayed home and ate beans.

This place is just the shit! Best mex in Salem/keizer. Waitstaff can be slow, but are attentive to your service. This place is busy! It's not their fault they make great food. Okay, mabey it is!

Excellent service, excellent food, great atmosphere. The best Mexican food in Keizer. They have tasty chips and some of the best salsa I've had to dip them in. I always either order a chicken enchilada (comes with rice and beans) or chicken fajitas. The chicken with the fajitas is delicious as well as the chicken in the enchilada. The rice is really good. The best part of the fajitas are the handmade flour tortillas. I sometimes just eat the tortilla on its own because it's so good! The restaurant is nicely decorated and I like that they expanded so there's another room for seating... We rarely have to wait anymore.

I have eaten here hundreds of times, the food is always delicious. The servers and staff are always attentive. I would suggest going in for lunch or an early dinner this place can get busy fast!! Epic home made tortillas!

Ate here for the 1st time recently (4 adults and 3 kids) and we all enjoyed our dinner. The inside is pretty spacious with lots of seating and is very well decorated with detailed engravings and Mexican themed objects. Even the bathrooms were impressive. If you're indecisive the ENORMOUS menu may provide a challenge to you, but in a good way. They make homemade flour and corn tortillas as you can watch them through an opening in one of the seating areas. The ingredients they use are all very fresh, at least according to the waiter. The price for food is a good value. You get a lot of fresh food and a reasonable price. I got a chance to interact with a number of staff and they all seemed to be outgoing, friendly, and very hospitable. We ordered a variety of meals including kids meals along with some alcoholic drinks and one desert items. Their piña colada drink and margaritas were great. From my experience they have a great deal of what seems to be more authentically Mexican food and deserts including deep fried ice cream. We'd definitely go back!! See my photos!

"MINUS ZERO" I'm expecting to have this filtered by YELP because that's what they to do with honest one star reviews (based on the others they've hidden from view for this restaurant) Suffice to say, if I could give a "MINUS ZERO" star I would. This was quite possibly THE worst meal I have had in a restaurant. I ordered a Vegetable Fajita but if you consider chunks of under cooked Cauliflower and raw Carrots with no flavor "a Fajita", then you'll be fine with it but it was more like raw Chinese stir-fry minus the Fajita seasoning. Also I asked for Corn Tortillas yet I received flour instead. When asked about receiving flour tortillas, they had some lame explanation as to what they "really were" and it wasn't corn. So, I'm not sure why there are any four star reviews but it was absolutely awful and I won't be back. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND WASTE OF MONEY!

Full tables every time we go in but the prompt and attentive service moves people in and out quickly. Great service by friendly employees, and never an empty beverage, bowl of chips, or salsa. Food is the best Mexican in Keizer. One of or favorite dinner spots.

I was not please with this location. I have eaten at the West Salem location a couple of times and never had any issues. I took my mom out to lunch to this one because it is closer to her house. I ordered the taco salad, this is what I order just about every time. except this time when my food was brought out, I was literally brought just a salad, no shell. It's called a TACO salad!! When I asked about it, the waiter informed me that they do not serve it with a shell and it is extra. This to me is just stupid. What place serves a taco salad with out the shell. When the waiter brought my food back to me, she informed me that I would not be charged but next time I will be. She was rather short with me when giving me this information. Making it sound like I was some scammer. I told her I have no problem paying the extra money and to charge me for it. In the few times I have been to the West Salem location, I have never been served without the shell. Nor was I charged extra. On top of that, the waiters should be asking the customers if they want a shell or not. I will NOT visit this location again. The only reason I am giving this location a 2 is because the food was good. That was the only good experience from this place.

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the food was good, very good flavor on my carnitas tacos. However, I've had many patron margaritas in my day and gladly pay more for the flavor. I know the difference between Patron and Jose Cuervo in taste and the waiter swears it was patron. I beg to differ. You're lucky I don't give you only one star for lying to me. May only be one bad apple in the staff bunch so don't want to completely hammer them. I give the food 3.5 stars. Service -1 star... This San Diego Kid knows his Mexican. Don't try and play me...

This restaurant is delicious and quick. They have a huge menu with many choices to choose from. Their staff is always kind and their pricing holds up against any others in the area.

I really like this place. The handmade flour tortillas are to die for and their complimentary salsa is very good, a perfect addition to the chips. Aside from an odd fascination with horses (every booth is adorned with the head of one), the decor looks like what I would imagine being inside a functioning Hacienda would be like. Not that I've ever done that, but it looks like what I would think would be authentic. Does that make sense? The food always comes out hot, with a generous portion. I usually stuck with old favourites (i.e. boring), but on a recent trip I tried their Burrito Colorado. The sauce and beef were amazing. Truly excellent. It completely changed my future order, as this will be my new go-to menu item. Definitely worth it....though do try and get them to not steer you into the side room, which looks like part of the strip mall that they expanded into. It's too bright, stale, and looks shoddy. The inner part is much more aesthetically pleasing. Also, try the sopapilla for desert. Totally worth it.

The atmosphere was authentic. The artistry of the restaurant setting was fun. The fajitas were ok. The margarita was ok. The hacienda ice cream was super awesome! Would come again :)

I've eaten there twice in the last two weeks, most recently I've had the carne asada. The service was good and the speed in which my order was ready was amazing. I just started eating the nachos when our entrees came. Portions are of good size and i like the flour tortillas. Decor is Mexican inspired which is nice compared to some cookie cutter restaurants. For a laugh read the entire menu and see how many spelling mistakes you can find.

I had an overall good experience here. The food was good and arrived at a reasonable time before we filled out stomachs with the chips, salsa, and beans. I ordered a veggie burrioto that was good and it came with the usual sides of rice and beans which were okay. I also ordered a jumbo peach margarita to share with a friend that was pretty good. The staff was SUPER friendly, almost too much as we had multiple people ask us how our meals were going within 15 minutes, and that slightly disrupted my meal and conversation with friends. I would go here again.

I must say that I have eaten a LOT of Mexican food in my day. Just take a look at my profile picture... I'm not Jenny from the block by any means. But, for all the Mexican food I've eaten, I'd have to say that La Hacienda Real takes the number one spot for me, by a landslide. For a long time, Salem didn't really have a good "home-made flour tortilla" culture, but with the success of La Hacienda Real (now with 3 different Salem locations), many other Mexican restaurants have starting following suit. Without fail, I always get the fajitas. And though I order them pretty much every visit, they never seem to get old. I could eat them all the time. Their perfect blend of spices and seasonings on their meat are very flavorful. Mixing that with their fresh home-made tortillas makes them stand out, easily, as number one. Although I mainly stick with one specific dish, La Hacienda Real has so many wonderful options to choose from. I'm sure that every dish is just as good as the next. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone (and frequently have). What a great restaurant in Salem!

The real deal as far as Mexican goes in this city, and I have eaten plenty of Mexican food in my lifetime. This place is by far my first and sometimes only choice when it comes to Mexican food. In this town of large, primarily fast-food chains, it's nice to have something local and fresh. Keizer doesn't have many dine-in spots so when this place showed up it was a great gift for the city. The menu is massive, the food is delicious, and the service is always very welcoming, quick and nice. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food on the menu, and you can usually find coupons in the Salem/Keizer newspapers. The food is all made from scratch, their most popular dish being the chicken fajitas, which is probably the most flavorful meal you can get. Before you can even smell or see it, you can hear it come from the kitchen, practically shouting it's headed your direction. When you sit down, you get a basket of hot chips, good salsa and what I guess people are calling "pico de gallo", which is just a plate of tangy cabbage and re-fried bean dip. Don't get me wrong, it's good though! Well, I like it at least. :) I often stop by and get an order of pico de gallo, chips and tortillas just so I can have some for home! I've never had any negative experiences here, except for maybe that it's loud because it's almost always full at lunch and especially at dinner time, seeing as it's an extremely popular place here in Keizer

La Hacienda Real is my definitive restaurant for Mexican cuisine. I've been here several times with my siblings and each time has been equally enjoyable. We've spanned the various dishes on the menu; diving into the seafood, enjoying the simplicity of burritos and enchiladas and even sopes. Every time the food has been fresh, hot, flavorful and awesomely filling. You really can't go wrong with their GIANT menu. Service has always been friendly. At one time the waiters and waitresses dressed more authentic, but I guess over time the dress code was released. No biggie. The only real gripe I have is the wait time for food and service. Every time I've been here whether it was lunch or dinner the place has always been packed. I'm not going to dock points for waiting time, because a popular *small* place is always a good place to eat. Just as Kathy mentioned in her review, the pico de gallo and bean dip provided when you order is awesome. Unlimited refills, but be VERY careful you don't fill up on that deliciousness, as the portions of the main dishes are a bit generous and delicious in its own right. The tortillas are I *think* made in house and are the best tortillas I've ever had. The ambiance and decor isn't necessarily something to write home about as there are many horses and horse heads painted throughout. It's not the prettiest or swankiest place you'll see and it's definitely not a place where there is a lot of charm in it's decor. It feels pretty cramped too. :T For the lush, try their giant margarita bowls. It'll be an adventure! :)

My personal favorite Mexican restaurant in Salem. I've only visited the Keizer location and have never had a negative experience here. Prices are reasonable (and you can usually find coupons in the paper, etc.), especially for the amount of food you receive. Food is served on platters...not plates, and is easily enough food for 2-3 meals. A nice ambiance makes this a great place to go with friends and share some margarita pitchers. A must try if you love Mexican food!

I'm not even sure if the food here is all that good because I'm always so stuffed with the chips and pico de gallo by the time my order arives that I'm kind of disinterested. They consider a very tasty and complimentary plate of beans and cabbage "pico de gallo". The pico de gallo and their homemade tortillas are the distinguishing factor of this restaurant. There are so many Mexican restaurants in the Salem/Keizer area and this place really stands out. I often stop by to pick up their homemade tortillas and pico de gallo for potlucks or when I am making fajitas at home.
