    I came to this place because I haven't had dim sum in months and I was craving it. Stopped by the first place that I found "dim sum" on for Yelp. So, let's break down my review. Prices: The prices were really cheap. The cream cheese wontons were $1.50 and dim sum dishes were $2.75. Food: I think the food wasn't that great. It wasn't BAD but even without having dimsum in months, I was unimpressed. The wrap on the cream cheese wonton was really... Tough. And the cream cheese on the inside had a weird aftertaste. Thinking about it, everything kind of had a weird aftertaste. I also ordered the lunch plate, pork steamed bao, shu mai, and har gao. The orange chicken was super crunchy and there was so much breading on it... I'm a very strong advocate of eating everything and I didn't take my leftovers home. I just knew I wasn't going to eat it. Atmosphere: I was thrown off when I walked into the place. I thought there would be someone walking around with carts the way dim sum usually is served, however they had the buffet style heated display (I'm not sure how to describe it). There were two employees working and the place was empty except for me and my friend, which was expected because we came in around 4pm on a Monday. All in all. The place isn't HORRIBLE, I was just unimpressed because I grew up with Californian dim sum around more Asian restaurants. Maybe I just came on an off day.

    Disappointing. Had dim sum, but it was chewy and without flavor. Service was good, but no sauces could improve the taste of the shrimp dumplings.

    I wanted to try something else other than dim sum and ordered the orange chicken and the pepper beef with thoughts that it'll be better than what's served in panda express. I was wrong. The entire plate was unpalatable. The food was overly cooked and hard that I felt like I was chewing on rocks. The dim sum wasn't fresh as well. It is something that I guarantee came straight from the Asian market. The quality is so bad that I still don't understand how they remain open to this day.

    DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! What a joke. We think the food came from Winco frozen food section and was microwaved and served to us with paper attached. I was excited to see a Dim Sum restaurant appear in Keizer ..... I've been wanting to try it ever since I heard the guy singing about it in the movie Sleepless In Seattle. This has ruined my dream of eating Dim Sum. Do not waste your time, your calories or your money. This place sucks!!!!

    This was very disappointing. Everything was served on disposable plates. I hope they are using them until their actual dishes come in. Otherwise the other low reviews are correct about the food being prepared from frozen pre-made dim sum. Don't waste your money or go to the Asian market and spend it there to prepare it at home.

    Personally, I had a great experience here. As you walk in, bright, clean and well laid out. Yes a small restaurant for sure (8 booths), but new tables and booths, new carpet - simple decor that relates well to this type of food. I've never done dim sum and for that my expectations were certainly met. The gals working were both very nice and attentive. There was only 1 other patron in the place when we arrived at 730, and she brought us samples of #13 - delicious. We asked for suggestions and ordered 5 different menu items. Our total bill was $12.75 for two of us. And at the end they brought 2 more samples. There were a couple items not necessarily to our liking and several that were. Excellent portion for price. Yes, the styrofoam plates and cups with plastic fork are less than fabulous. But seriously - for that price what else can you expect? Real plates may have enhanced our experience and yes I would be willing to pay more for china and a tea pot. However, I liked this spot and will likely return. I enjoyed the experience of something new - especially the steamed buns. I left very full and for so little - it seems to me this should be in a mall, not a restaurant. Give it a try! I hope they expand and plan to stay. Feels a bit temporary.

    Other than the prices I can't say anything good about Dim Sum. The temperature of the food was barely warm. The shrimp dumpling didn't taste good and I broke one open and the shrimp smelled bad. The potstickers were so-so and the crab rangoons were way overcooked. We will not be trying this place again.

    The dim sum isn't made, it's just reheated stuff from Fu Bon market etc. and not even the really good frozen stuff. You could go to Uwajimaya and eat 10 times better at the counter.

    I was very excited to see this restaurant open in the former location of the Blooming Cuisine. I couldn't wait to try it. My partner and I went around 7:30 on Saturday October 4th. I actually expected there to be more patrons in the place, but only two of the 8 available tables were occupied. We were seated and the picture menu was brought to us. A plastic pitcher of water was left at our table and we had to pour our own water in foam cups that were stacked on the table. It was then I notices the paper cup with napkins, plastic cutlery and a few chopsticks crammed in it. We placed our order and within a very short time our Dim Sum arrived. Okay, so in some places where the food speaks for itself you don't have to worry about presentation. AND had this been an upscale, popular place where people were lining up to get some. AND if this were a food cart on the corner, I would have expected the way the food was served. However, our Dim Sum was simply thrown on a disposable plate all jumbled together. We were presented with two disposable bowls to put our food in, and it was brought out on a plastic cafeteria tray. Needless to say, this wasn't what I expected. The Dim Sum varied in temperature from downright cold to luke warm. The taste and texture was good and the portions were small as expected. Price wise, everything on the first page of the menu is $2.75 each. There are some items on the opposing side that vary in price, but nothing over $2.75 I really would like to give Dim Sum four stars, but dining on disposable china in a sit down establishment is not right. The owners should take a little pride in their product and serve it on proper plates. Maybe even prepare the individual Dim Sum offerings in small steamer baskets stacked with a small steamer pot on the bottom to keep the food warm and make the presentation nicer. Oh yeah, one more thing. They have one (1) music track with one (1) tune that plays constantly on a loop. Dear owners: Change that up please! After the 8th time hearing it I was starting to go a little batty. Will I go back to Dim Sum? I thought about this long and hard before writing this review. The answer: Maybe. Maybe I will give them a try earlier in the day to see if there is a difference in the food temp, presentation, and music. All places have to start someplace, as my partner pointed out, but having been open for two weeks, the kinks should be ironed out and the china settings should have arrived from the manufacturer by now. Dim Sum, class it up a bit and you will be very successful in Keizer. Keep doing it the way you are doing it now, and you will wind up one of those "places that used to be".

    When I first went here, I was really excited and gave it a rating that reflected that excitement. Since that time, they have not lived up to my expectations. Pretty much everything is premade. I can go to the store and buy my own bag of frozen pork buns and potstickers and make them at home for cheaper. They don't make sauce to go with the potstickers, but just provide premade packets of sauce. I don't really mind the paper plates and such, but the styrofoam cups end up leaching an icky taste into the tea. I will say, their chicken feet are still delicious and the only reason I keep coming back. If those are premade, then I need to figure out where to buy them. They are super yummy.

    Sadest Dim Sum I've ever had. I waited 2 months for this place to open. I moved from a place that had tons of fine quality Dim Sum restaurants. They need fresh, not frozen hand made Dim Sum. Where's the carts? Where's the special Dim Sum only served on the weekends. I SO wanted to love this place. I hope they change the format of the menu and start serving freshly made Dim Sum.

    I'm very pleased to have a pure Dim Sum restaurant in Salem/Keizer. The reviews I read here are all over the place, so let me see if I can pull them together so that they all make some sense: The building has been a Chinese place for decades and had run down badly. I hadn't been in the place for maybe 15 years. The new owners have remodeled the building extensively and it is now very pleasant, nicely decorated, and a comfortable restaurant. That's good for one star. We were greeted when we entered, and were directed to take a seat at any of the booths we liked. This is a small place -- about eight booths. The table was very clean, as was the entire restaurant. We were given menus -- no rolling cart service in so small a restaurant -- and left to look them over. There were two-dozen dim sum choices, and about eight 'combination plates' on offer. The waitress returned and took our order, offing a suggestion on rounding out our meal. That's good for another star. Prices were quite reasonable -- most items were $2.75, with a few a bit less. Combination plates were around $7. Food arrived very quickly -- yes, on disposable plates, in styro cups, and with plastic tableware. I've had better dim sum. Much better. But it really wasn't as awful as some of the other reviewers would have you believe. The sesame seed balls in particular were quite good, and the BBQ pork buns were fine. The dumplings were not great, but the sticky rice in lotus leaf was very tasty. One reviewer believed that this was all microwaved frozen food from Costco. I'd be VERY happy if I could get frozen dim sum anywhere close to this good. One star for the food, no star for the tableware, and no star for the sauces (sweet chilli, hot mustard - not great). If you go here with reasonable expectations, I think you can enjoy your meal. I just can't drive up to Portland for a top-rate dim sum experience anytime I like, so I'm grateful to have this dim sum place nearby.

    Took my little kids, 18mo & 3 here at 6:30 Friday night We used to get take out from blooming cuisine when they were here. Huge improvement on the interior. Bright and very clean. I believe I read that the owners of johns Chinese in Keizer own this one as well. Price was almost to reasonable... Ordered half the menu for $16.50 Crab puffs were good. Steamed BBQ buns were also quite good. The rest was so so. They do not serve white rice... Weird!! Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I did get the feeling that they are still trying to work out some kinks out. Staff seemed a bit unorganized and confused at times I will go back. It's not Chicago dim sum, but this is Keizer. I commend them for taking a chance at new style restaurant in a town full of bar food and mexican restaurants. I think in another month or two they will get it figured out. I hope they can make this work.

    The food was excellent! She was so friendly and more than willing to let us sample anytime! We will definitely be back! We ordered lunch and then we liked it so much, we decided to take some home! Yi really made us feel special!

    I was really looking forward to trying this place. I've had good Dim Sum several times. This was absolutely wretched. Granted, it was very clean and nice looking inside, and the waitstaff were kind, despite not being knowledgeable about their own food. there wasn't another patron in the place. That should always be a first clue. The menu items are very few, and are all priced at $2.75 Nothing is fresh, or made in house. The tea isn't even brewed fresh, it comes out in a styrofoam cup and a cheap, and sub-par tea bag. Everything was served on non recyclable styrofoam. My partner and I ordered #1, 3, 5, and 13. All of it was bland and overcooked (as if it had been sitting in the warmer for several hours). The beef balls were especially terrible. They came out steamed, and not in the delicious looking broth that is pictured, but rather, in plain water. Unsalted. it tasted like bad dog food. The texture was rubbery and paste like. The pot stickers that I ordered from the menu (which were deep fried/crispy in the picture) came out steamed instead of properly fried. This was absolutely the most awful food experience I've had yet, and I've eaten crickets. As a nice touch, at the end, we were offered a sample of a sesame sweet bean ball that wasn't cooked through. Still frozen in the middle. I will absolutely never go there again.
