All in all pretty good. They had three beers on tap when I was there. I had the pale, it was good but a little malty for me. Food was great and view was rad. I'd go back.

This place is great! My husband and I are long time "vacationers" to Oregon's gem of a town and launch pad to incredible wilderness. Whenever we can ditch Portland for a few days we end up out here....that being said, we've been to every eatery in town numerous times and this new place is a welcome addition! Entrees are fresh and home cooked. There are many unique and healthy options here, not boring pub food that radiates across the state once you venture east of Bend. Service was great, food came quick and restaurant had a nice vibe, although I would have preferred a more "cozy" atomosphere. We sat outside, braving the sunny fall day to set up my husband's scope and view Big Horn sheep while we ate. Eat here and enjoy the great food and spectacular view of the Eagle Caps!

"Mutiny" stirs up visions of angry crew members, knives clenched in their teeth, swinging wildly from ropes and mercilessly taking over everything. There is nothing angry or merciless about Mutiny Brewing Company in Joseph -- it is instead a divine and tasty break from the same old boring, slapped together pub food. The atmosphere is warm, clean, bright and inviting. Lots of roomy tables inside and out, parking right near the door, and even a pretty little garden in front. The menu boasts vegan and gluten free offerings. We were greeted immediately and warmly. They had just two beers on tap, and that was it... kinda weird, but the taste made up for it. Please remember, I'm not a beer girl anymore, but my husband, Scooter, likes it enough for both of us. He says the strong red and the brown were very good..not amazing, but better than most. We were starving from our hike, but the menu made me wish I could eat for three. The hummus trio appetizer offered three perfect scoops of different flavors: garlic, kalamata olive and sundried tomato, ringed by pita bread, tomatoes, carrots, and celery. I ordered the chili lime fish tacos -- three on the plate and WOW, the wasabi sauce was amazing -- like taking yourself to first base. Scooter had the burger, and while our waiter skipped asking how he wanted it done, it was quite close to perfect. We liked this place so much, we returned the next day for lunch. Special that day was a chicken gyro. Whole kalamata olives, a wonderful sauce, tomato wedges and perfect chunks of feta all playing nice with thick strips of perfectly cooked chicken, cuddled in a soft, fresh flatbread, YUM! The gyro came with a choice of side --- I picked the sesame noodle salad which was delicious. Scooter went for the potato wedges. Both were most excellent. I had a couple bites of Scooter's dessert : dark brownie with a chocolate ganache sauce... there was a choice of sauces, one being chocolate lavender ganache.... ohhh. Will have to go back for that. The menu is varied, but perhaps a little pricey...? A spinach, strawberry, goat cheese salad with balsamic dressing was $10...add $3 for chicken breast. But the chicken gyros were $10, too, which seems just fine. Dunno, maybe I'm all crazy due to the high altitude out here. The soup o' the day on our second visit sounded delicious: sweet potato/chipotle squash. Didn't order it, as I was seduced by the Greek goodness, but suffice it to say that Mutiny is creating a food revolution in the genre of pub fare, and I for one am happy to show up, knife clenched in my teeth, ready to dig in.

A decent alternative to über-popular Terminal Gravity, Mutiny is a smaller place with a decent variety of craft beers on tap. The food is great - well prepared, a little pricey but generally worth it. The beer is hit-or-miss -a wheat beer was cloying, but a porter was pretty good.

Decent beer and friendly staff. Food menu was okay. Would return.

It's quite a testament to Mutiny that the lowest review is a 3 star on here. I came here a few times and was always blown away by the quality, price, and service I received. Their beer is great, when there's live music, it's a great spot. The front yard is incredibly cute. The beer is pretty good - not TG good, but definitely worth returning for. Honestly, though, it's in the food category that they've got TG beat. They've probably changed it up since I was there, which is great, but I just remember them having a bunch of amazing options for pretty darn cheap - fish tacos, cafe yum bowls, cool burgers. I like TG, but TG serves chips with their burgers -- who does that? I have some great memories here - live music on Friday's, dancing as the sun is setting in the aisles, drinking delicious brews. If I could go back to one place in Wallowa County other than those lakes up in the mountains, I'd go to Mutiny. If I could go to two places, I'd go to the R n' R.

Great service. Great beer. Food was okay. I love going to local breweries throughout Oregon, so I made a point to stop while I was in Joseph. :)

This place is amazing. The building may deceive you. Don't let it. The food is outstanding. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with a side salad, and it was perfect. The sauerkraut was delicious, the meat was piled on, and very flavorful. Every bite was just as delicious and exciting as the first. We also ordered the burger, which was HUGE. Tons of flavor packed into the patty (which is local beef), which was more like half of a cow, the bacon was excellent, and there was plenty of fixens on it. If that isn't good enough the service was fast and very friendly. I will drive out here again just to eat here.

After finding the two sad little dog "friendly" spots at Terminal Gravity to be occupied, we headed to Joseph and picked out Mutiny for our dinner location. Nice patio, fairly decent shade, terrific views of the mountains. And no "sit off in the corner with your horrible BEAST" area. The sign out front let us know to order inside (thanks for that by the way, a lot of places don't make that clear and you sit like a goob wondering where the waiters are hiding). We went inside to see what our choices were and since it wasn't overly busy, the gal behind the counter said she'd come out and take our order. Very nice of her. Not a huge beer list, but fairly comprehensive for your major styles. Must be the only brewpub in Oregon that doesn't have an IPA-saturated list. :) Menu was also smaller but had some interesting choices. My turkey sandwich had bacon and their artichoke dip on it. Whoa. Super rich! The Rueben was declared "Good, not great but totally edible." The burger on brioche was noted to be a winner. The side with all the meals was a boring little dash of tater chips... I get it, cost-conscious way to give customers a side. But I didn't see any options on the menu, other than $4 sides and small salad. *I did look at the online menu for winter and they listed tater wedges or tortilla chips as standard and some options for $2. So perhaps the cheap chips are a new thingy. Oh yeah, brewpub, BEER! The brews here are not too shabby. I homebrew and the flavors/finish on these were very reminiscent of what I turn out myself. So don't be comparing them to Deschutes or some big joint that has the money and equipment to crank out awesome consistent brews. They're trying hard and it's darn respectable "homebrew".

We only had beer & an appetizer. We stopped in while driving thru town, checking possibilities in the Eagle Cap Wilderness. My hubby and I both had the SSS Wheat and wedgies (potato skins). Both were VERY yummy!! The server was very nice. And their place is very nice as well, although very quiet. We sat outside at a table and enjoyed a beautiful view of the Wallowa Mountains. We'd make a return trip here!

Cameron W. Very clean. Good service (on a slow night). Large hamburger very good with so-so fries. Tasty rice bowl actually a plate with ingredients in separate piles. Green curry rice bowl didn't have much flavor or sauce. Both rice bowls had very well prepared grilled chicken. Assuming that five stars means there us no room for improvement I give the Mutiny a 3 1/2.

Joseph has a number of restaurants along its "main drag", and we chose Mutiny on the advice of a woman in a real estate office. It was definitely good advice! You can sit inside or outdoors, and I'm happy we chose to sit indoors because all the wooden booths and the doorways had charming carved "murals" showing the flora and fauna of the Joseph area. Very good service and the food was flavorful and fresh. We would definitely return to Mutiny! AND to the town of Joseph!

Usually get the BLT with oven wedges - yum! One time the wedges were overdone, and without asking - the chef brought new ones out! Delicious. Beer is okay - but the food is the highlight. Seating outside is great, with an excellent view.

Was in Joseph and stumbled onto this place...thanks to Yelp. Love it! Vegan and gluten free options in Joseph...who knew?! Had the hummus plate and the rice bowls...all of which were plentiful and yummy. Highly recommend this place!

Great food and staff. Gluten free dining means you leave the bun behind but the food is so good you won't mind. We had the 6 ranch hamburger and pulled pork. Fantastic! Not a GF dedicated kitchen but there is awareness. Heading back for lunch!

We ate here nearly every meal in Joseph. The veggie burger was unique and wonderful. The mexican vegetable soup was chock full of flavor. The fish tacos were unique with wasabi mayo and terrific. We mined the menu daily and enjoyed it all. The outside area was comfortable and shady. The restaurant interior was decorated with fun animal carvings. The service was great--they even stayed open a bit longer to feed us after our backpacking adventure was stormed out. The beer they have is very good, just wish they brewed more varieties. Grat service, food and ambience.

I think this is the only place in the Joseph area that has an actual vegan option on the menu. It was a curry sauce with white rice and beans some veggies. It was pretty good, it was just nice to have something to eat that was cruelty-free. They had a "special" tomato soup for the day, but of COURSE it had dairy. Would be so easy to use coconut milk instead, sigh. But I have to keep reminding myself this is Joseph. They could definitely improve, vegans love GOOD food and the word spreads fast!

Amazing service!! Especially in Wallowa County, where you get great service if you know your server. The food is flavorful, fresh and has decent portions. They have gluten free options and vegan options. There aren't always lots of beers to choose from due to the on premise brewing and the seasonal life in Joseph but they are always great! The wine choices are better than most in the area. I have not had the pleasure of sitting on the patio and watching the sunset behind the Wallowa Mountains but you better believe its on my summer bucket list!!!

My wife and I headed to northeast Oregon to try a few brewpubs we'd been looking forward to checking out. The first stop (for lunch) was Mutiny (is) Brewing in the quaint little town of Joseph, which lies at the foot of the Wallowa Mountains and within a few mies of Wallowa Lake. The Wallowa Mountains are truly something to behold, and we grabbed a table outside with a spectacular front row view. I had seen pictures, but they did not do the scenery justice. At the moment, Mutiny only has two beers on tap that were brewed on premise. When we were there (late June) they were a pale and a porter. My wife ordered the porter, and I had the pale. The porter was one of the best I've had, and I generally find porter to be a relatively bring style. It had a nice, creamy mouthfeel with hints of chocolate and coffee. The pale was great session beer, coming in at 5.4%. It was not overly hoppy, but then again it was billed as a pale ale and not an IPA. Very easy drinking. Perhaps too easy! They do have plans to add more taps and beers, but with their small size, they do not have plans to distribute. So Portlanders, make the trip out! It's worth it. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was loaded wth caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, feta, and pesto. The pesto was INCREDIBLE. The best we'd had since our trip to Cinque Terre, Italy. I had the marinated steak sandwich which came with caramelized onions, red bell peppers, and chimichurri sauce. The top sirloin was tender and cooked perfectly and the flavors blended well together. The menu was diverse, and a nice change from the usual "pub grub" at most brewpubs. Considering the small size of the establishment, it was that much more impressive! The service was also fantastic. Prompt and friendly. My wife and wanted to purchase T-shirts before we left, but we were informed that they had run out of my size (wearing a mens large is not always convenient). But before I knew it, the manager had driven home, picked up more shirts, and had them back before we'd closed our tab! Ah, small town hospitality. Amazing scenery, great beer, wonderful food, and friendly service. What's not to like? If you ever find yourself in the area, be sure to stop in!

Its a small pub that has a nice garden. They had a very good Cesar salad with chicken but the chicken was too smokey

Ate here 3 times in 5 days. I guess you would say I am a fan - - a huge fan eat! Great and varied food options, good beer and wine and a stunning view of the snowcapped mountains while sitting outside in a lushly gardened patio. What more could anyone ask? After much traveling and way too many burger and fried foods, I was searching for light and healthy fare. Yes, the burgers and pulled pork sandwiches looked great too, but it was the non-meat options that had me singing. A tasty hummus platter (3 kinds, no less) with great, crisp veggies and flatbread was my first meal. Yum. Later I had a caesar salad and ahi tuna tacos with a tangy sauce. More yum. My partner enjoyed potato skins, a burger and the pulled pork. How great to find a place that makes us both happy. And I enjoyed a small glass of porter and some wine. Also fun was an evening listening to blues while sitting on the patio in sight of the awesome mtns. My mouth waters just writing this review. I just wish this place wasn't 600 miles from home,

We tried this place for the first time during the Blues Festival. I was blown away with the food, service, and beer...I talked about it all weekend, absolutely AMAZING! I am so glad Joseph has something to offer besides burgers, fries, and junk! The waiter John was so friendly and awesome! I enjoyed the Ssshweet Beer and the curry with a salad that contained no watery lettuce and all fresh veggies, YESSS!!! The chicken skewers and asian noodle salad was also quite delectable! I highly highly recommend this place, lovely outdoor seating, beautiful view!

We were visiting friends who live in Enterprise and stopped in for lunch at about 12:30 after a morning hike. It's the Sunday before Labor Day, and they were busy, but at least half the tables were empty. As far as we could tell, there were two people in the front of the house and one person in the kitchen. It was at least 15 minutes before we even got menus, and about 25 minutes before we ordered. 45 minutes later our first round of drinks were gone, and no one had even checked on us. It took another 15 minutes for them to give us another round of drinks. My wife and I ordered the lunch special a "junkyard dog", which was billed as a chili dog served with a citrus slaw. When we finally got our order, we got a hot dog on a bun topped with some sauteed onions, cheese, and cole slaw. I think if you order a chili dog, it ought to have some chili on it. We had eaten here a year ago, and didn't have any complaints, so either they've slipped a lot, or they were having a really bad day. Frankly, just an apology for the long wait, and maybe a stab at an explanation would have made things a little better. The four of us agreed, including the locals, we wouldn't be back. Maybe it's time for a "mutiny" on the part of the customers.

Stopped in for the amazing veggie burger. Service was super, a gal from Cali who now lives in Joseph and answered all our questions about everything we wanted to know about the area. Will be back for sure.

One more positive review. I really liked this place. My wife had the chili lime fish tacos and they were delicious. I had a great sandwhich (can't remember the name) with delicious wedge potatoes and a dipping sauce that was excellent. The beer was great as well. Outdoor seating on a nice day was great too.

One year after my first visit. Mutiny is still my favorite. The food and the service are both very good. I had the Tequila Lime Chicken sandwich and a pint of porter. The sandwich was great and the porter is still one of the best I have ever had. The surprise this visit was that they have four beers on tap instead of two. If you like food and/or beer and you are in Joseph or Enterprise, you need to stop here for lunch or dinner.

The setting is nice and the service was good. We had lunch. The food was bland and uninspired compared to other restaurants in the area. Others have felt the food was excellent but that was not our experience.

Mutiny is a relatively small brewery in Joseph. I had gone up to this area with the main purpose of going to Terminal Gravity but happened upon this place while doing a little exploring. Given the disastrous customer service experience I had at Terminal Gravity, this place saved the purpose of the trip as it was everything I look for in a good brewery experience (although they need to increase the selection of beers). When we went there, they had just two beers on tap (both reddish ales). But they were very good. The brewery is right in downtown Joseph. The indoor seating is very spacious and high quality, but not particularly charming from a brewpub perspective. The outdoor seating is very nice (when the weather is accommodating). The service was quick and helpful. Food and beer was served without undue delays. The food is excellent. When we were there, my wife had a curry dish with flatbread. I had the homemade veggie burger. Veggie burgers are generally not my cup of tea but this was excellent.

Run by professionals. good service and food. They needed our table to build a table for 12 and moved us to an empty table, but offered to buy a beer for the move. I like the place a great deal.

This place was great. They have a nice dog friendly garden and great beers. The food was also delicious. Various dishes were tried including the Fish Tacos (menu said Ahi, but it was Albacore, still fresh and correctly cooked), the Club Sandwich (served on grilled flat bread with garden fresh toppings), the Caesar Salad (which was wonderful and the massive hunk of correctly cooked salmon I ordered on top was amazing), and the Burger (which was huge and came with awesome oven steak fries). Hands down the best place we ate out on our trip to Eastern Oregon.

We were here on a very hot day and enjoyed sitting on the patio under a shady tree sipping cold beers and eating a tasty meal. The burger was a bit overdone for what I ordered, but despite that, it was a delicious burger, made from local beef and with interesting accompaniments. We had a toddler with us and this was the perfect place for him. He dug around in the rocks and colored with the provided crayons while we relaxed in the shade. The kids menu had healthy choices too. I would definitely eat here again on a future visit to Joseph.
