We were in Jacksonville with a large wedding party. We contacted Joyce at Déjà Vu and arranged for a dinner for 15 and two breakfasts for 35 people. Joyce was amazing to work with and made everything hassle free. The food was outstanding, and Kevin our server was the BEST! Thanks for making our weekend so memorable! We will be back!

This is an unusual review as we didn't end up eating here. We came in excited about their "appy hour" which we discovered on a Sunday afternoon as we were walking by. The gardens and courtyard are lovely. We had our dog and were advised we could sit outside in the courtyard with the dog, but we couldn't enjoy the 'appy hour as that was only available in the bar. The outdoor area had a different menu for apps and of course, different (higher) prices. We really wanted to love it enough to stay, but we left a tip for the cold water and service provided (including water for the dog which was nice of them) and left. Next time we will come back without the dog and enjoy it properly. Very good service, lovely ambience. Am sure the food and wine would have been good too but I can't report on that yet. Such a shame - they lost business tonight, and a potential raving yelp review for the meal and wines.

Reading the menu was very exciting. I couldn't make up my mind as to what to get for anything. The atmosphere was missing and the service was mediocre. the entree I decided on was disappointing and I would have liked a salad or some dinner rolls for the price of the meal. the portion was small but enough to leave satisfied. we sat and waited for about 30 minutes before our order was taken and the total amount of time we say there with nothing was over an hour. it only took us 15 minutes to finish eating.

We had the most wonderful dinner last night! The salmon was PERFECT and the sauce was awesome! The flat iron steak was good also, but the salmon was the BEST! The service was wonderful. There were many personal touches and we felt the staff made us feel welcomed and special! It was my husband's birthday and they made it a special event. We will be back the next time we are on the area!

Great Food. Chef/Owner is former owner/chef of Gogi's in Jacksonville. Terrific grilled romaine salad. Delicious duck & salmon entrees. Prices are reasonable. Lovely patio dining, and a very comfortable interior. Good wine selection, but only $10 corkage fee so bring your bottle of wine from your wine tasting trip to the Applegate.

It was 'date night' for Michael & I tonight so we decided to try someplace new to us: Deja Vu Bistro. We both began with the crab cakes with apple slaw. Delicious!!! Then we had the grilled flat iron steak with most AMAZING stone ground mustard sauce. Ooh-la-la. Michael talked me into sharing the chocolate cheesecake. OMG. We will definitely be returning ... probably Sunday night. OMGosh. We went back tonight & took a friend. We shared super fresh fried calamari with zesty wasabi sauce + superb crab cakes with apple slaw. Yum!!! Then we had truly delicious duck breast with tart cherry sauce over cauliflower puree. So extremely wonderful. We're going back next weekend -- just before we leave on our 2nd honeymoon.

5-star worthy grilled Caesar salad and duck entrée. Loved the grilled flavor to the lettuce, but wish it had a side of dressing to add more once you've dug into it. And the duck was wonderfully juicy with amazing cherries on top. I could pass on the bread and the ahi starter. Portion sizes aren't gluttonous, so expect to order multiple courses. We tried all the desserts, with all being amazing but the bittersweet chocolate mousse and date ice cream were the favorites of the table.

We had our third dinner at Deja Vu Bistro on a recent visit to Jacksonville in late May, and the chef outdid himself with our flatiron steak, haricot verts and roasted red potato dinner. By far the very best steak I have EVER eaten in a restaurant. Prepared to perfection and EXACTLY as I requested (medium). Really enjoyable dinner in beautiful surroundings and wonder of wonders, we could have a quiet conversation and not have to shout at each other! Deja Vu, you are a sweetheart of a restaurant. I wish you were closer! Oh, forgot to add that they give a 10% discount for cash! Unheard of!

I'm n old employee from here I meant to give this review before but forgot so here it is my names Chris been here in southern Oregon for 5 years now and have worked with most of the big names in town chef bill being one of them and I wanted to share my experience with chef bill never have I worked with a chef who cared as much about culinary as chef bill from the smallest detail he's involved every aspect of that plate you ordered has met his standards and been checked thrice he's not only the best chef I ever had the privilege of working under but the best cook as well and yes there's a huge difference he's a master of both which is rare so in closing if your reading this review looking for he best food in southern Oregon this is it wherever chef bills cookin it's the best

My husband and I love this little secret gem in Jacksonville, and we love that NO ONE around here has heard of it, much less ever goes. It's been around for years as part of the McCully House but they "broke up" and now Deja Vu is it's own restaurant on the same grounds still as the B&B. What's not to like about this place? First, it's surrounded by typical Jacksonville gorgeous gardens-- huge rose bushes and other gorgeous flowers and greenery surround the restaurant and the outdoor dining garden. It's overgrown and lush in a classic, relaxing way. They strung up darling outdoor lights in the trees and at night, it's a gorgeous dining spot-- so quiet and beautiful. The interior is very nice, dark with hardwood floors and dim lighting, spacious with multiple rooms, and very quiet. The bathrooms are pretty nice too. Just sayin'. Ok, great wine here. You can't go wrong. Pretty top-notch service. Since no one knows about this place, there's always a table available, we have found. This has become our go-to restaurant for fine dining these days and we find it far more hip and delicious than the stodgy Gogi's down the street. The food: I consistently order the duck entree because it is SPECTACULAR. It comes with cherries and atop a cauliflower puree that is to die for and has shoestring fries on top of it all. I love this dish. My husband generally orders whatever vegetarian entree they are offering that day and he too loves whatever he is served. The menu offers duck, steaks, and seafood primarily. We always get dessert here too and have not been disappointed. Last time, we got the 2 housemade ice creams, cherry and strawberry and they were divine- perfect ending to a great meal. Next time you are in J-ville looking for some good food (it's not a cheap place, but it's worth it), try this one out, and go before the garden dining closes for fall!

Grilled Caesar salad, Fried calamari with wasabi mayo, grilled Salmon, Grilled Ahi Tuna. All were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Dinner was very good would definitely go back. Its a causal place you can sit outside or in. Service was decent even though it was very busy. BUT: THE WORST cup of coffee I have ever had in a restaurant though, tasted like dishwater. Please tell owners to invest in a good espresso machine. It a restaurant of this caliber they should have great coffee or cappuccino to end the meal.

Visited Deja Vu Bistro & Wine Bar while in Jacksonville during September. They were busy for a Sunday night but the hostess suggested we try the bar. When we entered we were ignored by the staff who quickly rushed by only stating that the area where we were standing was not open so we couldn't wait there. A polite couple seated at the bar said they would be leaving soon and graciously offered us their seats. The bartender was chatting with the couple next to us and finished serving them. He made no eye contact, no smile, nor even a nod towards us but just breezed by and served the guests on the other side. Once finished, he left the room with no indication that he even saw that we were waiting. Assuming he was just very busy, we continued to patiently wait. Twenty minutes passed and though the other eight or so guests seated at the bar were greeted and served, no one ever said a word to us. We left and I later contacted the bar to let them know of my experience. I did not receive an apology or even a simple reply. I go to Jacksonville frequently but will never patronize this establishment. I was overwhelmed by how rude and unwelcoming the staff was.

So, let's get a couple things straight. The food here is pretty amazing. The ahi tuna tartar was perfectly executed, the crab cakes were solid, and the antipasto app was delicious and balanced. The staff was also very attentive and informative. A few small issues. The oysters weren't properly shucked nor were they fresh, a bit of a let down. The music was Kenny G greatest hits, I'm guessing. Seriously, Kenny G?? We can do better than that, right? All in all, a fantastic dining experience. After ironing out a few small kinks, this place will be the best in town.

Best food in Jacksonville! When we heard Bill and Joyce Prahl, previous owners of Gogi's, were opening a new restaurant, we had to get a reservation. As we expected, the food, the service, and the atmosphere are all stellar and very reminiscent of Gogi's! Jeremy, our waiter, was fantastic! You have to try chef Bill's famous salad- the grilled romaine. You won't be disappointed!! The Prahls have done it again with a top notch restaurant in cozy Jacksonville!

My husband and I went for the first time last weekend and we're completely happy with it. The Ahi appetizer and the Tomato-Basil soup were my favorites. I would order both those again. The anti-pasta plate was well done and a great first course. Artistic and pleasant, like a lot of Jacksonville. The outdoor seating is wonderful, but hard to get so reserve ahead.

Came for happy hour. Appetizers were very good ($4-6). Outside patio was a delight. Would recommend to all my friends. Wife and I loved it!

I was disappointed with Deja Vu considering that this was a 4 1/2 star restaurant on Yelp, I would go with 2 1/2 - 3 stars. Deja Vu reminds me of a restaurant, like many many others, that are lacking a detail oriented individual to run the place. From the oil and vinegar bottles with pouring spouts that do not fit the bottle (ending up with a fist full of oil is no good), to the dinnerware that the utensils keep falling into the food, to the tiny one hole salt shakers to which you can not judge how much salt is coming out. The food was ok, I had the seared Ahi but it was flavorless and fishy tasting (not fresh) and the vegetables sat in a pool of wasabi and soy sauce. If you like large portions, this place is not a good fit for you. My recommendation: if you are going to serve a very small portion, make sure that the food is gourmet and unbeatable. We shared two deserts, not outstanding but no too bad. A couple of things that they do have going for them is that the service was above average, their wine list was extensive and the atmosphere cozy. Another thing is that the flat iron steak was very good.

Yummm! I cannot say enough about how much I enjoy Deja Vu Bistro & Wine Bar. Every dish we have sampled is wonderful! It is a treat to enjoy well prepared food served in such a hospitable and pretty atmosphere. And to to top off a lovely dinner, is the variety of delightful wine they have to offer. Without a doubt, this is our new favorite place for a tasty and delicious dinner!

The service here is great and the atmosphere charming. Order the grilled Caesar salad for an unusual and delicious take on the traditional version. The diners at our table were also happy with the lamb chops, the flat iron steak and the scallops.
