India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.

The place was very nice with a great atmosphere. The flavors were a little lacking but it was still very good over all. The chicken tikka masala was absolutely delicious! yumyumyum!

I have not yet to eat IN the restaurant but we did take out and I was rather pleased! Moving from California and ending up on the West side of Portland...way...way out...was not exactly how I pictured my return to Oregon but until we save up to buy a house in my dream East side neighborhood... here we are. This means... I have to re find food that is close to home ...but still good. Now...to me...nothing compares to my experiences at Bombay Cricket Club BUT this place...is within walking distance... their pakoras are OUTSTANDING and the lady on the phone was rather lovely. B likes his food spicy..he said it was not as spicy as he wanted BUT it was delicious. He was a happy camper and I was too...except for the cilantro garnish (which was not mentioned on the menu) ... because I have a mild cilantro allergy so I do OK in small amounts. I had the lamb tikka masala and B had vindaloo and the lamb in both was tender, juicy and exactly what you would want in a lamb dish. My veggie mom tried the pakoras with me and we were both really happy with them. This is a place I will totally order from again.

I have only had their lunch buffet and what a buffet it is. This is some of the best Indian food I have had. This is also my wife's favorite place to eat. There's a large variety of dishes available for the buffet including both vegan and meat options (goat & chicken). I truly adore their currys. Ok, now I'm hungry.

The interior of this place looks as if it were transplanted from some fancy hotel half way around the world. To be honest, I didn't expect to find a cheap buffet in a restaurant that looked as nice as this one does. I also have no complaints because, even though it was busy, we were seated quickly and the food was delicious. There definitely something for everyone and I will definitely be returning sometime in the near future.

I have had the lunch buffet here a couple of times, and dinner a couple of times. I wasn't totally bowled over. I like Abirrucchi ( ok, I can't spell it but I still like it) a lot better. I like the service there better as well. The sag paneer ( my favorite ) is just okay here. The naan is okay too. It's adequate. Given that, I think it's a little overpriced and kinda stuffy. I like my Indian to be more kicked back. My kid does like their butter chicken, however, she likes ANY butter chicken except what I make at home ( not buttery enough, restaurants must load the stuff with ghee). If you're in Orenco and need lunch, it's not a bad option... but you could also bop over to New Seasons and get curry there. For a lot less money.

This place gave us a big shock. I am new to Hillsboro area and we are still exploring all the Indian restaurants. Hearing good comments from our friends here and seeing the good reviews, we decided to go to this place. We went there around 8.15, and there was no one there. The place looked empty, but the owner/manager still called us in and said they were open. We were given seats and made to sit. There was a waitress, who looked at us,turned back and started doing her cleaning work. We waited for 15 minutes until someone realized we were waiting and took the order. Just 2 dosas. We were not given water too! and there comes our order, at 9.15!! What the hell, it took them 45 minutes just for 2 dosas? The dosa taste was good, no complaints. But the service was so poor, the girl was probably very tired and got annoyed when we went there so late. Not sure what the issue was. I can give it another try, probably for lunch or early dinner. I hope to get treated better this time.

Mh, I'm surprised that Swagat doesn't have better ratings on Yelp, particularly the Orenco station one. I have been to the one in Beaverton, and I much prefer the Orenco (Hillsboro) location. The lunch buffet is fairly priced and varied. It usually includes a couple of soup and rice varieties, and several vegetarian and meat based (mostly chicken) dishes. The bread is fresh and warm. The dishes seem freshly prepared and are tasty, but not overly spicy. The restaurant is large and well lit; the distribution of the booths are good so the distance to the buffet area is never inconvenient. Simple and unassuming; it's our go-to Indian place.
(4)Valerie W.
I feel like Swagat is the little Indian restaurant that could. Although their food is OK, there are other items about these locations that seem a bit off. I will start by saying that I like this location MUCH better than the one off Canyon Rd. It is newer, the lunch buffet in my opinion tasted better, and was overall presented better. For $9.95 it's an endless array of curries, paneer, tandoori chicken, naan, etc. I left yesterday feeling very full and satisfied. Plus, at this location they are constantly putting out new, hot food. However, I cannot give it more than 3 stars. Minus one star for a very un-attentive staff. We were seated, thrown some water, and never checked on again. No refills, no asking if we wanted a beverage aside from water, nothing. It wasn't super busy, there was indeed a lunch rush of nearby Intel folks, but nothing overwhelming. Also, as the restaurant itself was clean and newer looking, the booth seating was old and ripped up! So odd and uncomfortable.

I love this place, I have gone for the buffet and diner both are amazing! The restaurant has a very authentic atmosphere and the dishes are amazing! I have never had a bad dish from Swagat!!!
(5)Joyice G.
Couldn't wait to finally eat here and when we walked in the young man seated us quickly. Unfortunately it was by a screaming child. After about five minutes of piercing screams, our waitress arrived looking frazzled. We requested that she seat us at one of the many open tables on the other side of the restaurant. Her response was to angrily tell us that she was the only one waiting tables tonight and she did not have time to move people around. Then she quickly turned and left the table. Needless to say so did we.

AWESOME authentic Indian cuisine and a great atmosphere. The decorum is classy and clean, the restaurant staff are prompt and polite, and the food is absolutely awesome. This really is the best place to eat Indian food in the metro area, and because it's so popular you really need to arrive at 11:30 (opening) to get a seat and eat before Intel lets all its employees out for lunch and the place is packed. The tikka masala is amazing, the tandoori chicken is awesome, and if I can get there on a day when they have the goat curry I'm in heaven. Everything down to the nan and hot chutney (it's green, use it for the fritters & nan - it's awesome) The 3-star reviews on this page are silly, please ignore them.
(5)Mia C.
Swagat would be one of the best Indian restaurants in Hillsboro. Have been there for dinner couple of times. But the lunch buffet was my favorite, lots of variety dishes. Loved the chicken Biriyani and other chicken dishes.
(5)Dan N.
I go there for their all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, and have been there 3-4 times now. Each day they have an assortment of 6-8 main dishes, nan, a couple sweeter items for dessert, etc. The food has always been very good--some of the best Indian I've had. My favorites are their Chicken Makhani (chicken in a buttery sauce) and their Palak Paneer (spinach and goat cheese). They also have a good Tandoori (oven grilled or roasted) chicken which is great for less-adventurous palates like my kids. If you're new to Indian food, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. The great part about buffets is that you can try a little bit of everything to see what you like--a lot of Indian food looks like a variety of technicolor mush, but I've found all of it to be quite tasty, especially when dipping nan (bread) in it. The food has always been fresh, and something rarely is 2/3 empty before a fresh batch is brought out. All you can eat for $10 is reasonable. Service has generally been very good (not much service needed at a buffet, really--other than keeping the water full) but used plates rarely stay at our table for longer than a minute or two before they're collected. We went there once for dinner, and I found it to be a bit over-priced, and they didn't have the buffet--so you pretty much had to order a whole plate of just one or two items--didn't really feel like eating an entire plate of Tandoori. But the lunch buffet is definitely not-to-be-missed and is what I'm using for my 4* rating. Exclude the buffet, and I'd probably be rating 3*.
(4)Srikanth V.
Great place for Indian dumm biriyani.
(4)Richard ..
Went there for their buffet lunch buffet--the food was pretty well picked over when we arrived, and it took a while for their kitchen staff to restock the buffet table. When they did finally restock, it wasn't hot (perhaps some heat lamp action was happening in the kitchen...) Also, the food was bland, and not at all Indian like (read: NOT flavorful.) One more thing: Reservations mean nothing to them (though are required for large groups.) We called earlier in the week and made reservations for a group of 15--when we arrived, instead of having a set aside area where we could all sit together, they seated us at 5 different tables, and 3 were not close by to each other. I won't be going back.
(2)Food H.
I had dinner-to-go multiple times and the food is really good and authentic (unlike many other so called Indian restaurants). We also had organized a small gathering of friends (ca. 20 ppl) for lunch buffet. The service was awesome and the employees were very friendly and helpful. Food was really good. I will certainly recommend it for group events.
(5)Hingdi B.
Eeeh, I've had better for a lot cheaper. Went for the lunch buffet - honestly, the food wasn't the best, everything seemed to lack flavor and depth - which is not usually the case with Indian food because it's supposed to be packed with spices. I usually always like butter chicken but theirs was lack-luster. I tried everything and the only thing I got seconds of was the biryani which wasn't even the best. The decor is nice, don't sit in the booths - seats are really worn. Recommendation: try somewhere else first!
(2)Stephanie F.
Probably the prettiest Indian place I've been to by far. The chefs certainly know what they're doing and the good is great. We had the tandoori combo and saag paneer ( delicious!) Waitstaff, while overwhelmed at times, are friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. Will definitely be back!
(4)Genna C.
Despite working within walking distance, I'd never tried Swagath until today. I should have listened to that instinct. The interior is comfortable and inviting, but it's a Monet of sorts - looks nice from a distance, but up close you see the stains on the chairs, the spots on the glasses. Okay, well, I'm there for the food so on we go. Nice presentation, but the food is in a tight, circular area (i.e. not a linear buffet) that creates a lot of awkward stranger interactions like "sorry I just elbowed you in the ass." Speaking of elbows (worst segue ever), the chairs have arms, with a knob on the end about where your hand would go. This led to me hitting my funny bone 3 times as I ate. Yes, I am not super coordinated, but that still struck me as a weird choice in dining room chairs. Anyway....... Bright spots included the plantain pakoras, the rice kheer, and the naan, but a common issue was the wateriness of many entrees. The vegetable masala, usually a favorite of mine, ran all over the place and the chicken makhani was similarly very thin and flavorless. There are too many good Indian options in the Hillsboro area to go there again. Despite working across the street, I'll drive to Lentil Garden next time.
(2)Catie L.
This is my go-to place for Indian buffet. It's a little pricey, but the selection is good and it's 10 times fresher than other buffets I've been to. Great decor and music. Most lunch times it's slammed, but I'd recommend this lunch buffet to anyone who wants to try Indian food. I am in serious love with their "butter chicken". I've enjoyed a few evening dinners here as well, and it's okay but I like the variety that the lunch buffet offers. The Moroccan coffee, or whatever they call it, is really nice. I've never been sad that I ate here, but some of their seating aside from their booths is a little crowded and awkward to get in and out of. Friendly, efficient staff are a plus, and I've rarely had to wait for a seat.
(4)Anu G.
This is one of my favorite restaurants to eat lunch buffet at. The place is very clean and the decor is nice and welcoming. Some of the buffet places have more food choices than this offers but the quality and taste here is better than most places.
(4)Priyanka B.
Good Indian food is hard to come by in Hillsboro. Though there are many Indian restaurants here, the food from many is not authentic Indian food. I have had Swagat's lunch buffet 2 years ago, and swore never to come back. The food was terrible !!! But just a month ago, we tried Swagat food , catered at a friends house warming. The food tasted good and was very high quality. The Pakodas they make have some magic in them as they stay crisp even a day after they are made , I am simply in love with them. We have been to the Swagat restaurant thrice just in one month , the food has improved tremendously, the service is great. Though, I should say some staff members still need a little more training. Overall, I am surprised the progress this restaurant has made in the past few years. Give them a chance and do try their food again, I am sure you will not be let down.
(5)Shannon N.
Went here to get food after work one day. I really wanted a pick me up, and I LOVE Indian food. Anyway, the place smelled great and had a beautiful interior. The food was not BAD.... It just wasn't GOOD. The curry was very watery (I had to ask for extra yogurt to thicken it), and the dishes had little flavor or spice. There were large chunks of red onion and ginger in my masala curry, which I have never experienced (though I have eaten Indian food for years). They seemed to be trying very hard to reinvent the flavors a bit, but why mess with a classic? It seemed very "whited out" so to speak for a more American audience. I was waiting for that cosmic blend of spices that we know and love from Indian food. That thoroughly unique flavor that comes only from a well blended curry expertly mixed... and it never came. The mango lassi was good and clearly fresh, since I could taste the mangoes were under-ripe. I must admit, I am rarely disappointed by Indian food. This wasn't that bad, it just didn't taste like indian food... Very disappointed, and will not be returning again.

After a tiring morning of meetings, I headed to Swagat with couple of my friends. After tasting the lunch buffet at some of the Indian restaurants in Portland downtown, I was not expecting much. However, I was 'deliciously' pleased with the lunch buffet at Swagat. The buffet was awesome. Tadka was just perfect to Daal and Saag Paneer was delicious. Appetizers and Desserts were delicious too. All the dishes were served warm, which is very important if you want to enjoy the complete taste. Indian food tests best when served warm, except for the dessert. The only downfall was rice. It was Basmati rice but a little sticky. Real Basmati rice has all grains separated from each other. Overall, best lunch buffet place in Portland area. I would definitely like to go there again. :)
(4)Richard L.
Food is not bad. I would give it a 3.5/5. But what is up with the 2 ladies that work up front. One of them is always giving a negative vibe (the longer hair). She is always miserable and complaining. The other one (shorter hair w/ glasses) is okay. She kinda like a warm body that collects cash. There is no customer service. Makes me feel like I'm a farm animal surrounding the buffett circle for food. Oh yeah, heads up to the short hair lady, stop cutting your nails when you're at work. That's disgusting!
(3)Asif K.
Hyderabad dum biriyani with goat is the best here. Moist and good use of spices. Enough for 2. Must!
(5)Betty C.
The service...well, there isn't any really. But the food is good. It's a buffet for lunch, which is nice, and they have usuals--butter chicken, soups, lots of vegetables covered in breading, and rice. The deserts are okay, nothing spectacular.
(3)Lesley S.
THE BEST!!!!!!! This location is worth driving to. I live in NE Portland, and will not go to the closer Swagat restaurants, which are pretty mediocre. This one, however is well worth the drive! They have an incredible lunch buffet with some dishes I have only seen in India (delicious Okra, chicken manchurian, and others...).Everything I have sampled was delicious, and I love the fact that all of the cups and other eating implements are authentic and beautiful. I am quite a chai snob and their's is the BEST!!!! As the friendly hostess said, "It is the elixir!!!!". If you like Indian food, you HAVE to go here! I just wish they could have opened this one closer to my house!
(5)Keith P.
The lunch buffet feels a little more authentic than some of the others around this area, reasonably priced. I typically go for dinner about once a week. The prices are on par but the quality of the food is outstanding. I like sitting at the tables though, the booths are really kind of awful. The service, while polite, would be better served by being a little more attentive. Nothing like an empty glass and eating a spicy dish.
(4)Jose M.
First thing that really caught my eyes is that the interior design of this place doesn't look like a buffet restaurant. It's actually quite fancy. The buffet setup doesn't look like anything you see in a typical buffet restaurant either. That said, the food taste really good (I think that's the important part). One advice I can give if you're going to eat at any buffet place is skip all the carb stuff (bread, rice, potato, etc). They make your stomach full very quickly. Especially if you drink lots of water (because the food is too spicy for you).
(5)Mom E.
As Indian food goes, this place is pretty good. I would have to say I've been to a few places that were a bit more authentic and tasty, but for the area it is in I think it's worth dropping in for the lunch buffet. The server can be a bit testy who is usually there (a older blonde woman) but if you catch her on a good day you might get a smile out of her!!
(3)Nilesh N.
An Indian palace. This is a great place for a lunch buffet. Most of the Indian buffet restaurants have kind of a dive look and don't seem very clean. Swagat however has a very elegant and welcoming look to it and coincidentally their name means welcome :) They usually have a huge variety of food including chicken and lamb dishes as well as a good assortment of vegetarian dishes. Their desserts are also delicious including the fruit in mango custard. I miss going to this place :|
(4)Girish C.
The place has a nice ambience and the presentation of the food looks nice but their lunch buffets are pretty bland. A non-repeater for me, especially with so many other Indian restaurants in Hillsboro that serve up much more authentic and delicious flavors for comparable prices.
(2)Joe D.
Pricey for take-out, but it's good quality tandoor for sure. I realized this with an order of butter chicken, noticing that the meat roasted on a spit or skewer, then cut up and added to the gravy. I haven't seen that elsewhere, it was a nice change of taste. The place is pretty ornate, lot's of intricately carved wood, it would be a nice place for a party or special occasion!
(4)Randy B.
The variety of food is very good. The only complaint that I have is that during lunch it is hard to find a seat because they are so busy. However, that is also a good thing because it signifies the popularity of the restaurant. The wait might be long, but it is well worth it.
(4)M B.
Lunch buffet is delicious.
(5)Kevin H.
The people giving this restaurant negative reviews are insane. This place offers amazingly great buffet Indian food for a great price!! I cannot recommend it more highly.
(5)Kristina L.
Just o-k. Probably one of the nicer Indian buffets, decor-wise. The food wasn't so great though. Not bad, just nothing special about it, at all. I'm usually very impressed with Indian food...but this was a very meh experience. So it turns out: Not all Indian buffets are created equally! The buffet itself is a circular formation in a cramped area in the middle of the restaurant which makes it hard to get around. There is only one kind of rice, and the other dishes are very average, not a whole lot of selction compared to all of the other Indian buffets I've been to. Meh! Meh! Meh! 3 stars...no question about that!
(3)Dre V.
Got saag paneer and raita for take out. The saag paneer (spinach with cheese) came with jasmine rice and naan. Both the raita and paneer satified my craving for Indian food.
(3)Allan K.
Nicely decorated restaurant in Orenco station. The lunch buffet has a large selection of food and fresh. Food is tasty with a good selection.
(3)Anasooya G.
Lunch buffet was good but most if the items had a South Indian touch of cooking...not all the items were perfectly Indian...
(3)Jeff T.
The lunch buffet is the reason I got there. I used to live across the street and loved having a great lunch buffet in walking distance. Helped to keep the pounds off too. The service is a little wonky there with the buffet, I've never really ever gotten a check and just walk up to the counter and tell them I had the buffet and pay. But the food is fresh, plentiful and they have chicken makahani (buttercream chicken) which is my favorite, so yeah, I'm a fan.
(4)Josie V.
This place delivers great Indian food in a beautiful location. My only complaint about the ambience is that some of the booths are in disrepair and towards the back they have boxes stored in such a way it's an eyesore if you're seated there. They have a nice buffet that's a little pricier than most places but it's well done and neat. On the weekends they have Indochinese specials in their buffet which are delicious!
(4)Sara B.
The lunch buffet is amazing! The food is fresh and delecious. I gave this a four as the service is always questionable. Don't expect someone to come fill your water glass when it is empty, you will probably have to get their attention.
(4)Libby B.
Swagat is one of the best Indian food places EVER!!!!! the lunch buffet is where it's at! the naan bread is fresh and hot and the buffet tables are always being filled. the butter chicken is the best thing there is..... just thinking about it now makes me have to refrain from drooling all over.
(5)Christopher W.
I'm not sure if this was a recent change or not, but many of the complaints surrounding the naan bread seem unfounded. I visited Swagath recently for their lunch time buffet and the bread was piled in heaps on the buffet line for anyone to take. My wife, monther in law, and myself had a great time. The service staff was attentive (not that you need much attention at a buffet), the food was constantly being refreshed, and the tandoori chicken was awesome. Really no complaints. I must have destroyed at least five pieces of the crispy naan bread and my stomach was beyond full by the time we left. Will definitely be eating there again.
(4)Tony U.
Love this place. Best Indian cuisine around in my opinion. Service and ambiance great as well.
(5)Cvetiliana B.
I've been here half a dozen times and will say this place is 4 stars sometimes and other times it's 3. I decided on 3 because it's so dang inconsistent. Sometimes my favorite dishes are not there and their substitutes don't even taste Indian. They add some Indian curry spice and call it Indian lol. But when it's good, it's great. You do have to remind them when something is out somewhat often, but they take care of it. Their 2 desserts; mango pudding (sometimes the texture is so different from one time to the next) and rice pudding are yummy but would like them to be a bit less sweet. Their chai I do not recommend but I would say that about every Indian restaurant minus two. But anyway, it's close to work and if it was more consistent I'd go once a week. But since it's not, once a month, sometimes twice at most, will do when I crave it and on my way I hope so much it's a 4 star day for them : )
(3)Jesse H.
I really like the choices of the lunch buffet here. The tandoori here has a real Tandoor oven flavor.
(4)Emi K.
We were looking for apartments in the area and by the end of the day, we met up with my in-laws for dinner. It's in a corner of a very "trendy" area of Orenco. The restaurant itself looks clean and new, and the people there are very polite and nice. We were seated and as usual, the Indian lover in-laws start asking questions and start ordering. Yet, the host seemed happy to answer any questions and it was nice that they had a variety of tea for my step-mother in law. The food did not blow me away though... it is not that the food is horrible. But there is nothing special about it. Still, it was good and the good service helped it. My father in law paid for us so, I do not know how much it was but I do believe that it was a reasonable dinner price. As we left he restaurant, we were all satisfied and were surprised that my in-law's friend knew about this place. In the area, this might be the only and the best Indian restaurant, but there are better places for sure.
(3)Yee H.
For starters I'm an Indian food virgin. I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience and it lasted longer than 30 seconds =) . After reading other reviews we were a little reluctant to try it. However walking distance is a huge incentive. I don't have anything to compare it to, but the food was very good. We went for dinner and the service was great. The waiter was very informative and helped us in trying a variety of dishes. We ordered the dosas for starters, the tandori combination plate and the chicken biriyani. We enjoyed all of the dishes and the nan was great too! As Christopher mentioned I'm not sure if there was a change, based on the previous reviews I imagine so. If your in the Orenco area it's worth a try for dinner.
(4)Ilyn P.
Early friday night dinner with a girlfriend here and we both enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. And the food was flavorful. I don't know how authentic it is for Indian Food, but it was certainly delicious and do recommend. Will come back for more.
(4)Reece M.
When I started working in Hillsboro, I was constantly looking for lunch places. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Swagath really close to my work. I was instantly bummed after my first visit. The channa masala was the most bland variety I'd ever experienced. It was like pulling teeth to get the wait staff to bring me another piece of naan (the small piece that was brought to me to begin with was over cooked, and mostly just burnt bubbles) I made a promise to myself that I'd give it another chance, as perhaps it was just a bad day. I went back a few weeks later, and it was better, but only marginally. It was even harder to get extra naan (which, it seems, is the standard by which I judge Indian buffets...) I gave it a third try when some co-workers suggested we go there for lunch, and it was about the same: incredibly mediocre. I was lucky to get introduced to chennai masala, which is relatively close, and as far as I'm concerned, way better. I'd say go here if you don't really have any other options. Otherwise, hit up something else.
(2)Ken A.
Stop in every trip to Hillsboro for work for lunch buffet which is sometimes every week. Very popular spot for work lunch. I appreciate that the nan is out with the buffet and I do not have to wait for someone to bring it over.
(4)Marilynn C.
Haven't been here in years.... I remember the decor was very nice, the food pretty good. We stopped going though because the manager used to stand off to one side and stare at us while we ate. Creepy.
(3)Elaine V.
The buffet is a bargain and pretty good. I wish they offered a bit more variety. The dining room is pleasant.
(3)A K.
This place has good ambiance and represents the traditional look. I am not happy with the quantity that you get for the price during the dinner time. The lunch buffet is ok but there are very less variety.
(3)Tom C.
Went for the lunch buffet again, and they were pretty good, as usual. They're not quite the best around, but they don't have to be that great to stand out on the west side. It's a filling lunch, and a darn reasonable price, so it's totally worth the stop.
(3)Maggie A.
In a pinch, this would do, but considering just how many Indian buffets there are in Hillsboro, I'd choose Lentil Garden or Chennai Masala over this Swagath location (or the other in Beaverton) anytime. The good: The cost of $8.95 lunch buffet is about the same as the others mentioned above (well, Chennai is $1 less), and that usually seems pretty fair. This location does not have the humid feeling that the Beaverton location has. The food ranges from decent to almost pretty good (but nothing that was actually incredibly great), so that's still good-ish, I guess. The not so good: Although it was an all you can eat buffet, and although at every other Indian buffet that includes the naan, we were given 4 pieces. Period. They were brought to us while making our first trip to the buffet. Sure, if someone had come by, we could probably have asked for more, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose of the buffet thing, and frankly, I don't want to have to ask. The set-up of the buffet is kind of circular instead of long, but it actually makes it more difficult to get through because you are constantly bumping backsides with others - and I'm not even a bigger girl, even if I do usually eat more naan than these folks served me. Although this place has a fancier feel to it, the cozier atmosphere of the Beaverton location is preferable, and the atmosphere at either of the places mentioned above is better than either Swagat/Swagath location even if they are much less fancy. There were other odd service issues (musical tables - were seated at one, then another, then back to the first), but that wasn't so much a factor as a funny topic for later conversation. It's not terrible, but I won't be back because there are so many other options that are better across the board.

The food at this place is decent for a buffet. The butter chicken, the tandoori chicken, and their desserts are pretty good. Some of the other curries could use more spice, but that's true of most indian buffets I've gone too... Service could use some help too... I prefer buffets that also have naan at the buffet line... There were times when I had to flag down multiple servers to get more naan, just to have them return with a basket of two pieces for our party of 4. When they run out of something in the buffet line, you also have to tell someone to refill it... At least with the desserts. At least in my experience.. Otherwise you could end up waiting a long time.... Despite that, I continue to come to this place, because I still enjoy the food.

Have been there for lunch several times. Reasonable, I think. They don't have a big food variety for buffet (like Lentil Garden does) but I like the atmosphere of the place (much better than Lentil Garden)

Great Indian buffet. Wonderful flavors, comfortable booths, reasonable prices.

I HAVE A HUGE WARNING FOR THIS RESTAURANT! If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I have been to the restaurant two times. My father-in-law's credit card's number was stolen by employees at this restaurant TWO DIFFERENT TIMES, and it was used all over the place. His bank looked into where his card was stolen and traced back both times to this place. The food was OK, but it's not worth the risk. Do not go here unless you want to risk your credit card being ripped off.

I hate to give bad reviews, but this was one of the very worst meals that I have had in a long time. I was excited about a new fine dining restaurant in Hillsboro, they tend to be few and far between. I have traveled through India, love Indian food, but this was the worst. I ordered the Tandoori and it was totally over cooked to the point of being dried out. The side dishes were cold. When the waitress asked how my meal was I told her that it was OK, and she pushed the point, "you mean it was good", and I said no, actually it was very bad. She then told me that this Tandoori cook tonight was not very good, and that I should come on a Tuesday if I wanted the really good Tandoori, or that I should just order something else. She then told me that they have an excellent buffet lunch that I should try instead. So I spent $25 for one of the worst dinners that I have had in a long time. Too bad. Just say "NO" to this place.
