My wife, Linda, and I asked a friend (who works downtown every day) for a lunch recommendation. He said, "Clark's Bistro -- really good sandwiches for lunch!" So we went there about 2:30 PM and got to meet the proprietor, Zack Clark who gave us a tour of the Pub portion while we waited for our sandwiches, which by the way, were excellent. Linda had the chicken breast with sun-dried tomatoes, and I had the pastrami Reuben. I'd get it again on my next visit! I recommend Clark's Bistro to anyone reading this review, and we are in no way associated with Zack and company except to say that we were pleasantly surprised at the great atmosphere (friendly to the max) and great food.

Was very good pub food and service. Would like to see them use the front space more often, though, as that's a great space that appears to be mostly unused. Either way, not pricey and would go back.
(4)Darcey E.
Best sandwhiches ever!- and the truffel fries are scrumptious. Great way to spend lunch and feel like you get a gormet meal. The atmosphere is comfy and modern with good music playing in the background. I highly recommend Clark's for your sandwich cravings you will not be disappointed.
(5)Beckie K.
Such a wide and decadent variety on the menu! Had a hard time choosing what I would have- Went with the Cubano and fries. Both were great. Can't wait to go back and try more. Friendly staff. Clean. Smelled great. Excited for the back pub to open up!
(5)Nikole S.
I ordered their peanut butter and jelly bacon cheeseburger and my boyfriend ordered the hot doctor sandwich. We split both because everything looked so interestingly delicious. They didn't disappoint! That burger is so satisfying. Nom nom nom. Fries are great as well. My son got the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. I found the soup to be very plain and tasted like straight tomato juice. It needs seasoning perfection (unless they left it plain for my son but if they did that's unnecessary because tomato bisque is one of his favorites.) We also ordered beers. Decent selection. I'd love to see even more choices in the future. Oh they also have Nintendo 64 to entertain you (the kids) before the food arrives. Awesome sauce! I think because of their late hours the competition comes down to the 3 lettered place on the other side of 26 and Clarks if you want to stay in Hillsboro and my boyfriend and I agree, CLARKS. Thanks for the wonderful experience guys! We'll be back.
(5)Daryl S.
To Zack/business owner who waited on me,the place has great food & service. A + I Have told my friends and customers. They even said they had great food & service, WOW !! A + we wish you the best in business and keep serving great food !

I really like the laid back Pub side for late night eats in Downtown, Hillsboro. I made it to Clark's for their amazing PB & J Bacon Cheeseburger with Havarti cheese the week they brought out the burger menu. The flavors just work so well. I returned for the espresso BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and Cuban sandwich as well. The Pulled pork was excellent. I wasn't a fan of their sweet potato chips, though. It was overcooked. We had better luck with the delicious churros con leche dessert. The full bar has cocktails and beer. The Staff were friendly. There was Eagles Classic Rock on the speakers. ..they have live music and trivia nights, too. Give Clark's Bistro & Pub a try.

Oh My Gosh!!! This was our first visit to the new gem of Hillsboro. What a great experience. The only complaint that we had was that we got so full and couldn't keep eating. Since I only live five blocks away, I am sure that I will be making frequent trips to this place. Which means that I will also need to join a gym because I will eat until I'm beyond stuffed. We had a delicious Reuben as well as a scrumptious Turkey and Cranberry sandwich. We also had a basket of Sweet Potato Chips and French Fries. Mmmm. I need to mention that the servers were awesome and very friendly. I can't wait to go back.
(5)Jennifer R.
Went here while on vacation in Oregon. The hot doctor sandwich is to die for. My husband got the pb&j burger. It was so good. Perfect combo of savory and sweet. So good we had to come back for the burger before our vacation was over! The owner and staff are super nice. Wished I live in Hillsboro just so I could go to this bistro more.
(5)Shawna P.
The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because we specifically went for the pb&j and we came In Behind a large party that ate them all so we got none. We did have the Irish nachos and the Tequila Lime chicken sandwich. Both were delish. Drinks were poured well... I had an amazing Brazilian drink that I can't pronounce that resembled a margarita and was super refreshing for a hot, humid day. We chatted with the owner and bartender quite a bit and they were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely need to go back for the pb&j though.

5th time I've been here at about 11:30 pm, right before closing. ...kitchens still pumping out quality dishes. Every single time I've been here other patrons can be heard comparing this place to "portland", attributes of the good food and beer and good company found in pdx that can be found here. 5 stars for not only what they have, but what they don't have: drama, traffic, hipsters(I'm sure they are welcome), greasy tater tots etc., and a half hour drive

uggghh. Cognative dissonance. This is among my least favorite Yelpland experiences---- Scouting out a place with solid Yelp-backed credentials/ endorsements, only to have a personal experience belonging in a different zip code, and very different sort of feedback forum. It isn't their relative inaccessibility (ie, for anyone NOT living deep in Aloha/H-boro) or the big "open" signs in the main store front which is obviously NOT open that lost it for me. It was the "milling around on a not-particularly busy evening for over 15 minutes w/o getting eye contact with any staff people" that really got the ball rolling in the wrong direction. The vibe is young adult/hiptser, but heck, that's really not ground-breaking these days, in these parts, by any means, hey? Gentle reader, if you think I enjoy going well out of my way to check out such highly rated places, spending my hard-earned do-ray-me only to have a lousy experience, just so I'll have something negative to write about, you are out of your skull. The uninspired Muffaletta that finally arrived, long after I should have simply vanished from the place, was non-descript. I think it would have had to have been way better, or worse, to get my attention. ..

Excellent establishment! Just what downtown Hillsboro needs. Went for lunch and was just going to get some food due to bringing my dog with me. They were kind enough to bring a table outside so my friend and I could enjoy lunch outside. Food was great! Service was also great. Met the owner and he was very nice a d checked twice in with us to make sure we were enjoying our food. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Hillsboro area.
(5)Megan F.
some mornings when I don't want to wake up, I promise myself that if I get out of bed and go to work then I can have Clark's Albacore Melt for lunch. it always works.
(5)John P.
Always great. Drinks are solid. Food is great. Get to meet lots of nice people. Bartenders are super friendly. Check it out!
(5)Renee O.
Holy moly! This place is great. The inside is clean and trendy. The menu features fresh local ingredients. The meats are all smoked and sliced in house. And those truffle fries are on point. Such a great addition to downtown Hillsboro. The revival is coming! Downtown Hillsboro is the place to be, especially with this new spot. I am ecstatic for them to open the pub in a couple months. It's gonna be awesome.
(5)Jen K.
My favorite place in Hillsboro to hang out in the evening. I've been visiting the Pub portion of the business since it opened last month and the owner (Zach) and bartenders (Chris and Dave) are great. Compared to a few other places in town, the pub is a bit hidden, since the bistro that fronts Main Street isn't usually open in the evening. You need to enter using the "Pub" door to the side and walk down the long candle lit hallway to the pub in the back. There you will find booths in a darkened area by a fire pit, a long bar with TVs and a game room (pool tables and dart boards). Since I'm usually dining solo, I hang out at the bar, watch a game and chat with the regulars. My favorite drink on the menu is the Brazilian "Caipi" which is a great deal at $5. They also have four beers on tap, as well as sodas (Coke products) and a few other specialty cocktails. The bistro menu is a variety of sandwiches (whimsically topped with an olive on a skewer) and they have a few pub menu items (fries, nachos and potato leek poutine) as well. My favorite sandwich so far has been the Tequila Lime Chicken. There is an additional $2 charge for a side (salad, sweet potato chips or fries). The menu has changed a fair bit during the past month and they recently added burgers. They also remove a couple items from their bistro menu at night. Another really interesting item is their Clark's PB&J. Honestly, it sounds disgusting (Grilled Peanut Butter & Jam with Havarti Cheese and Bacon), but as one of the other regulars told me, "Once you try it, it will be hard to order anything else." And he was right. They also have a burger with a similar combination of toppings. And as far as the sides go, my personal favorite are the house made sweet potato chips. A running joke I have with the owner is that he needs to add hooks under the bar for purses. (Sort of my customer 'honey do' list). Since the pub is brand spanking new, it has been fun to see them add events and make updates to the space. On Monday nights, Geeks Who Drink hosts Pub Trivia Night from 8:00 - 10:00p. They have live music and art nights as well. This place keeps getting better and better.

We are so happy to have Clark's here in Hillsboro!

Went with family. Got Porky burger, 505 burger and kids grilled cheese. Porky burger was good but a little overdone and dry, would order with extra sauce next time. Fries were under done for my taste and would order extra crispy next time. Wife loved 505 burger and kid loved grilled cheese. Sweet potato chips were great.

Never thought I would try this but SOO GOOD! PB & J Burger with Havarti in Hillsboro AND every ingredient is local bonus stars for that! When I took a bite it reminded me of that episode of Friends when Joey ate Rachel's accidental meat Trifle. Sounds weird at first but what else is there to say .. Meat- Good, Peanut butter- Good, Jelly- Good, Havarti- Good, Bread- Good! Also tried my brothers pesto roast beef sandwich. That was very delicious too.
(5)Tony C.
A new Bistro in downtown Hillsboro has some excellent eats. Last time I was here I had the Clarks PB & J. Toasted peanut butter and Jelly with Havarti cheese and BACON! I know it sounds weird but it was oh my good. Wonderful soups and sandwiches. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. Service is great. Today I'm having the Albuquerque Turkey with fries. For the New Mexico folks it has green chilies on it. :-)
(5)Erin Z.
This is where ordinary sandwiches become the thing that haunt your dreams. Since my first bite I have been hooked on Clark's Bistro sandwiches. Amazing combos with fresh ingredients these aren't your everyday sandwiches. Working my way through the menu but the Tequila Lime Chicken is life changing. I keep finding reasons to visit Hillsboro to make another visit. Oh did I mention the fries? Don't underestimate the joy that comes from having one of these sandwiches in your mouth.
(5)Ludo N.
Oh my gosh. I ordered the special of the day, which was a "bowl" that consisted of Quinoa, Kale, Black Beans, and Guacamole. I am a bowl person. I order them all the time. This was borderline terrible. The quinoa was more of a quinoa "stew", not that I can really identify what was in the stew besides salt. The beans? Salt. The Kale? Salt. I am starving so I will make it through about 1/4 of it but the rest is going in the trash. Disappointed but not surprised. They can put slabs of meat on bread, but they can't "cook". Too bad, I was hoping to have somewhere to eat in Hillsboro!
(2)Al P.
Can't speak about the quality of food but I can confirm that they have lousy customer service. My wife and I went there yesterday and after waiting around for 10-15 and get no service they lose my vote of confidence.
(1)Bruce S.
Quaint, warm, whimsical, and WOW, the food. When we walked in, it was like walking into my best friend's kitchen. The smells wrapped around us making it difficult to decide what to get. After ordering, you sit down and look around, the décor is earthy, rustic, and so homey. Then came the food... The Ruben melted in my mouth from between the freshly toasted marbled rye. The salad was full of fresh spinach and arugula. Now, honestly, while I was growing up, I HATED Tomato Soup. This soup was hearty, creamy, flavorful, and just screaming for a toasted cheese sandwich that could match it's quality and depth. As Douglas MacArthur once said, "I shall return", and like the General I will. I saw so many wonderful dishes passing by that I must try more. I will bring many of my friends here, with me, and I am sure that they too will be captured by the fare tucked away on Main Street in downtown Hillsboro.
(5)Matt R.
Great place, nice atmosphere and a wonderful addition to help revitalize downtown Hillsboro.
(5)Sharon S.
I stopped in to the Bistro for lunch last week and the sandwiches (one Rachel and one Roast beef) we ordered did not disappoint! They arrived hot and tasty. The truffle fries were good, though a bit on the limp side rather than crispy. My only complaint - which was voiced to the staff - is that they refuse to offer coffee as a drink option. How hard is it to offer plain brewed coffee people? Please reconsider this as I would love to come back. Walking down the street for coffee to bring back and have with my lunch was really not an ideal option.
(4)Marcia H.
Nice addition to downtown hillsboro. Sandwiches are huge. If you leave still hungry there is something wrong with you!
(5)Mike C.
Lunch meal... Wanting something better than your average sandwich shop. This place serves delicious food. Honest and thoughtfully put together. I ordered the Cubano substituting Dijon for yellow mustard. The bread was warm and crusty. Pork roast was tender perfectly seasoned and no gristle, ham was perfect and Swiss nice and melty and pickle to finish it off. Very pleased. They take time to assemble and it's apparent. Friends had pulled pork.... Had a bite and discovered they add bacon slices.. And it's awesome bacon. Sweet potato chips rock! Will definitely be a regular. Can't wait to come back for brews and the pub menu. Thank goodness for this place downtown Hillsboro needs it!
(5)Molly F.
Well well well! Hillsboro's Downtown continues on its course for dining success! This place is great for all ages, from a signature peanut butter and jelly grilled cheese sandwich to home-made soups, sauces and dressings, to the welcoming ambience... Just a great place!
(5)Courtney A.
Visiting from Hawaii this is the to go place if you want to relax, play a round for pool or darts. Very nice warm fire pit and a earthy vibe. The food was AMAZING! We ordered the honey bacon, pita bread dip, and the Irish nachos. Great customer service we are definitely coming back when we visit again.
(5)Fred E.
I think I just had the best burger I have ever had, the "505", it was delicious along with the truffle fries.
(5)Sami H.
The pb&j with havarti cheese and bacon on toasted bread was DELICIOUS. You have to try this place out.
(3)Rose O.
I love this place! There's something for everyone. I couldn't decide from the pork cubano, the pesto roast beef or the Clark's PB&J....ended up having the pesto roast beef...so glad I did. It was delicious. It looks like there will be future visits to try my favorite....the PB&J!
(5)Michelle G.
First time here.. Was AMAZING ! I had Roast beef with caramelized onions, and Pesto aioli. Hand cut fresh fries. I also had the Potato Leek soup. It was different with a touch of sausage in it. My niece had the Turkey Ruben with the fries, with 2 sodas added it was under $25.00. We shared the soup and took half of the food home. Kept raving about it all day. Everything was fresh and service was great ! Plan to go back soon. Worth the drive to town.
(5)S R.
This is a really great place, right in downtown Hillsboro! Great food! Everything we had was tasty and cooked to perfection!
(5)Dale B.
What a fabulous addition to downtown Hillsboro ! When the French fries were delivered to my table, I got very tearful since they looked and tasted exactly like the fries that my mum used to make when I was growing up-and being from the UK, I'm very fussy about my chips (French fries). The sandwiches are excellent and the service and ambience are terrific. It's lovely to hear chef Carla in the kitchen making sure that all orders are picked up in a timely manner :O) Well done Zach for getting things just right first time!
(5)Christina N.
Clarks pb&j... amazing! I want it in my mouth right now!!!! Service is also fantastic!
(5)Corey R.
Clark's Bistro has an amazing selection of sandwiches and food. The menu has something for everyone. From the Turkey Albuquerque with in house roasted turkey and a roasted green chili. To a peanut butter and Jelly sandwich any kid would never want to trade. It has a great all natural peanut butter your choice of a few jellies and some amazing Bacon topped off with Havarti cheese. A must to try!! Their salads are fresh and feature house made dressings that a scrumptious. The frys are fresh cut Idaho frys, you can get them with truffle oil for a small fee. Which I recommend. Clark's offers their food to go or they have a great dinning area that features a cozy atmosphere. The wood pews are a cool touch and are not the pews you might recall sitting in. They are a comfy place to enjoy your food. Clark's is a breath of fresh air to Main Street Hillsboro!
(5)Martine H.
This place is great! Albuquerque Turkey was excellent. They roast their own meats and chilis. The bread was perfect. I'm super excited this place opened! It's just what Main Street needs. Once the weather gets better and I head out to wine country, I'll be picking up sandwiches for a picnic!
(5)Kristi F.
Loved the casual and inviting atmosphere. Feels like all the best from Portland (rustic chic) planted right on Main Street in Hillsboro. Great food! Great service and hospitality! Totally reasonable price point for their menu. Great for groups or for just popping in to have a bowl of soup and get some work done.
(5)Matthew R.
Great place, everyone was friendly. Service and food were very good and pretty fast. We had a Reuben and a BLT and both were great. Can't wait until the pub side is open!
(4)Lucas F.
I have long bemoaned the fact that good, privately owned restaurants are too few and far between out here in the burbs. They are building restaurants on top of restaurants on Division st, and we have been stuck with Applebees and Red Robin for years. Well, it looks like things are finally starting to look up. Clarks Bistro and Pub is on the main street in downtown Hillsboro. We visited the other day and were very pleased with our meal. We got the reuben and the pork cubano. They are not just assembling sandwiches from packaged meat. They roast/smoke/cook there meats. You can tell a lot of thought went into their sandwiches. The flavors are balanced. The bread is perfect. And the portions are quite large. The price is also great. You will spend just a bit more than you would spend at Subway. We had two sandwiches, side of truffle fries, side salad, and two drinks for 23 bucks. The staff is friendly and the dining room is comfy. Yes. Life in the burbs seems to be improving.

Meat- Good, Peanut butter- Good, Jelly- Good, Havarti- Good, Bread- Good! Also tried my brothers pesto roast beef sandwich. That was very delicious too.

Can't speak about the quality of food but I can confirm that they have lousy customer service. My wife and I went there yesterday and after waiting around for 10-15 and get no service they lose my vote of confidence.

Best sandwhiches ever!- and the truffel fries are scrumptious. Great way to spend lunch and feel like you get a gormet meal. The atmosphere is comfy and modern with good music playing in the background. I highly recommend Clark's for your sandwich cravings you will not be disappointed.

Such a wide and decadent variety on the menu! Had a hard time choosing what I would have- Went with the Cubano and fries. Both were great. Can't wait to go back and try more. Friendly staff. Clean. Smelled great. Excited for the back pub to open up!

I love this place! There's something for everyone. I couldn't decide from the pork cubano, the pesto roast beef or the Clark's PB&J....ended up having the pesto roast beef...so glad I did. It was delicious. It looks like there will be future visits to try my favorite....the PB&J!

Great place, nice atmosphere and a wonderful addition to help revitalize downtown Hillsboro.

Nice addition to downtown hillsboro. Sandwiches are huge. If you leave still hungry there is something wrong with you!

Well well well! Hillsboro's Downtown continues on its course for dining success! This place is great for all ages, from a signature peanut butter and jelly grilled cheese sandwich to home-made soups, sauces and dressings, to the welcoming ambience... Just a great place!

I think I just had the best burger I have ever had, the "505", it was delicious along with the truffle fries.
(5)Sami H.
The pb&j with havarti cheese and bacon on toasted bread was DELICIOUS. You have to try this place out.

This is a really great place, right in downtown Hillsboro! Great food! Everything we had was tasty and cooked to perfection!

Great place, everyone was friendly. Service and food were very good and pretty fast. We had a Reuben and a BLT and both were great. Can't wait until the pub side is open!
