Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. This is definitely a throwback kind of burger joint. I went here recently and the overall experience was quite amusing. First off, they have an old school register that likes to (user error or simple age, one does not know) lose the order. Cue button mashing, eye squinting by the cashier. Multiple times confirming our order. Then (I love this) saying the order into the microphone to the cook 2 feet behind her. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I think I asked her about six times about the fry sauce (I'd sampled their fries before and knew this was essential!) before I was told that when you're dining in, you get one little container and the sauce is in the back. No joke - you are allotted one cup & the napkins they give you on the tray. The booths are tiiiiiiiiny. My very tall companion only fit in OK because I'm way short. Enough complaining though - I loved their fries. They are hecka good. So is the fry sauce. And the burger was well cooked, well topped with freshness and overall I was pretty pleased with the selection. The food was a four, the experience was a very weird three* due to the excessive nickel & diming (i.e. no napkins just out and about, locked bathroom, soda refills cost 55 cents, fry sauce to go costs money and here ONE TINY CUP for sauce).

Baker's Burgers is a fam bam owned, mom-and-pop-shop, burger joint in the heart of Hills-Burrito. Adjacent to Chevron, Pacific University's Health Professions Campus and Tuality Hospital. If you're tired of eating Mexican food and Starbucks for lunch, Baker's is a good alternative because they're: 1. Convenient 2. Cheap 3. Decent food What you should try here? *Baker's Burger: Your typical cheese burger + bacon and all the fixings. Decently cooked to fulfill your burger cravings *Fries: yes it's something simple, fried to golden color and very scrumptiously delicious. You must try it with their infamous fry sauce! *Chicken Bento (Teriyaki Chicken): Chicken is cooked very moist. There's nothing like chicken + rice that seals the deal. Comes with one scoop or rice and a side salad for this combo. Prices range from $6-10 for entrees. Service is friendly and fast! FYI: -Accepts debit and CC -Has a drive thru -Limited parking lot -Caution around one-way streets -They use trans-fat free oil for frying -Show your Pacific University ID and get a 10% discount I wouldn't mind coming back here. It's pretty decent for something quick food fix in the area.

Wow! Where to even start with this place. I've been here a few times because its right next to my school and, well, sometimes convenience wins out over quality. There options are cross between greasy spoon and fast food fare. Quality: mediocre at best (and that's being generous). Service: what is that? They certainly don't know. They pretty much bark at you and give you the sense that you are kinda bothering them if you need a second to make your selection. Don't expect smiles, you'll be disappointed. Atmosphere: A bit odd. You will be "blessed" by Christian scripture as you go to grab your condiments. Overall: Not worth the rock-gut you will have after your meal.

Very disappointed. An order of onion rings was 4... Literally four measly rings. Really? The burger was drowning in sauces to hide the rubber puck they call a quarter pound patty. The teriyaki chicken was dry and again sopping wet to hide the stale bun. First and last visit to this dive.
(2)Paul B.
Good burgers, decent fries and great fry sauce.
(4)Kyle B.
We've been meaning to come here for a while. Glad we did, too! Great service!! Good hamburgers and fries. We will certainly be back!
(5)Tracy N.
The burgers are ok, slightly on smaller size. But the fries...OMG the fries....whatever batter they dipped in...so crunchy and heaven-like. Will probably go back to just get giant orders of fries. Friend had a shake and said it was good. Fry sauce is suspicious, nothing special. I'd stick with regular ol'ketchup! Discounts for Pacific U students with student ID but must spend over $5 for credit card charge.
(4)Darbie E.
It was decent. A wee bit spendy for just decent, though... $9.30 for a bacon cheeseburger with fries & a drink. The fries were pretty awesome. No idea what the "white sauce" is made of, but the fry sauce was a mix of the white sauce & ketchup.

My first time and I was excited to try it and was jone'ns for a greasy burger. What I got has a joke. Actually thought I was being pranked. My burger was so thin like a sheet of paper. I had to take the bun off so I might be able to taste it. Don't easy your time and money. Even McDonald's is better and filling and that's gross.
(1)Sheri H.
The shakes are amazing. The food is way over priced and eatable but not good. They are stingy with fry sauce. I spent $30.00+ and got 2 fry sauces. You think they would use judgement better. Will continue to order shakes but never the food again.

This place has changed hands and names several times throughout the years and I don't think I have eaten here since I was a Teenager. Today, we had the pooch with us and that required us to get something at a drive thru. We were in the neighborhood and stopped by. They have a pretty large variety of foods, burgers, foot long dogs, corn dogs, chicken sandwiches, fish and chips, ham and cheese as well as tons of other stuff. We asked what their most popular burger was and she said The Baker Burger, so we ordered two and a small fry as well as a plain patty for the dog. The fries come with dipping sauce which is Thousand Island Dressing, it appears they put it on the burgers as well, very tasty. All under 20 bucks. The burger was grilled on a flat top I believe and the bacon was smokey and crunchy and appeared to be cut up instead of one whole slice, made it so much easier to eat. I did not care for the shredded lettuce or pickles, but everything else was quite good. Much better than any fast food Burger I can think of. The fries reminded me of the battered fries at Raccoon Lodge in Beaverton, very tasty dipped into the fry sauce. The dog loved her plain patty. I am sure most of the ingredients come from Sysco but they still were prepared well and tasted good. Great customer service at the window and ordering, good food, what is not to love.

Bakers Burgers: McDonald's quality at Five Guys prices. $9 for a burger. $3.50 for criss cut fries of kids meal style portion. No wonder they're closing up shop. And somehow they get away with having a 1-$ price rating. Talk about misleading.

It's a shame the landlord sold out the property therefor they will be closing down sept.24. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and it's the freshest and best food around! I really hope you open another location because you guys have great food and make it with love!
(5)Angelia S.
I got the baker burger, fries and pumpkin milkshake. They were all delicious!! I'm so sad that they will be closing this month so the gas station can expand I'm definitely going to eat there more before they close.
(5)Andrea M.
One more star for service. The burgers were good, service was great, and absolutely love the funky atmosphere and the fry sauce! Easy to step off the MAX and roll right in the door.
(4)Rebecca Q.
Customer service was very poor. She was actually annoyed i changed my order before the food was even made. Get over it! It happens! maybe dont rush people into making decisions its not like we stood there and made you wait half an hour before deciding.. The food was overly priced. The chocolate shake i got was vanilla icecream with chocolate sauce in it.. thats not what I was expecting. The fries were the only good part but they dont even put horse radish in their fry sauce.. the burgers were decent, i could have gotten a better burger for that price though.. but it was edible. I dont really think this will be my go to burger place esspecially because she was extremely rude, but because we arent extremely rude we still tipped. dont need to punish the burger makers for the front person basically being a b****.

Date Visited: Thursday, 2/26/15 (Lunch) After confusion over the website not listing this location, I ventured out for a veggie burger and fries somewhat near work. I walked around the back of the building and really didn't know what I would find inside. The interior is nothing spectacular. It's a typical fast food joint. One employee was sweeping the floor and asked if I had been there before. I said no and as she circled around to get to the register, I pointed out I was vegetarian. She indicated the garden burger and veggie burger were my options there, explaining the veggie burger was soy-based. I ordered that with a large french fry and sat down. The employee entered the order and went back to sweeping up. She came over and explained the location was the only location owned by the person behind the counter (running the drive thru) for 20 years. After a reasonable time, my number was called and picked up my order. I was told the fry sauce and ketchup were at the back. I half filled my cup with fry sauce and sat back down. The veggie burger was good. The fries and fry sauce were good. The meal cost $8 something and filled me up so well that I didn't need dinner that night. I wish they had a vegan option so I could go back with my husband. Alas, this will have to be a lunch spot I go to every now and again. My usual lunch downtown is $6-$7, so spending more on a burger and fries has to be limited.

I have a forbidden cheeseburger (Princess' dad is worried about mad cow)here once in a while now that Rachel's is defunct. The Baker's burger is good. It has a thin patty, cheese, bacon, veggies and comes slathered with mayo. I also like salmon burgers, grilled chicken, gardenburgers, and the occasional french fries or onion rings with fry sauce. The fry sauce is tasty. Skip the teriyaki chicken or chef salad. Its a burger place people. Right now they have pumpkin milkshakes for $3.99. The food isn't fancy or gourmet. But its a little local business with some heart. I like that enough to choose it over nearby Carl's Jr. I mean, really. That's just dumb. Local is almost always better. The drive thru ladies are nice, too.
(4)Ashley B.
This place is by far my favorite place in Hillsboro to eat at I've been going Here for years. There burgers and fries are to die for.
(5)I K.
Excellent little burger shop. I liked the wide selection of freshly cooked food as well as the fry sauce which is a great reason to eat there. They can get really busy during the work week so going a little early to lunch there can make the dining and time-frame a little better. Friendly staff and pretty quick service, definitely a nice alternative to a chain/franchise fast food place.
(4)Isaac C.
Great little non-mega chain fast food joint. I can't help but notice the almost identical taste and texture of the burgers at this place to the food served at Burgers and More in McMinnville. Maybe the owners shared recipes at some point, I don't know. Food is pretty good for the money, I will stop by the next time I'm in that part of town.
(4)Christine C.
Very clean inside. Large menu. Had the fish sandwich which was just ok; too much sauce.
(3)Hayden N.
Addicted to the fish burger! It is so good that it makes me wish it was a no meat Friday during Lent. This sandwich fulfills my need for protein without eating a land animal. I used to eat here all the time on my way to and from work since it was next door. I constantly crave their crunchy fries dipped in that delicious fry sauce. I wish they had another location that isn't all the way in Hillsboro. Oh, my friend and I made a mistake of coming out here on a Sunday--they were closed.

I'm a fan! Baker's is a Hillsboro institution that I don't visit nearly often enough. It's gotta be an old Arctic Circle. The decor matches everything I remember about Arctic Circle: seriously cramped tables, the fry sauce (which is clearly just some blend of ketchup and mayo) and a whole host of other similarities. I will tell you that I smile every time I walk into the place, though. It just transports me back to a time when burgers were burgers and not... truffle aioli enhanced, pretzel bun adorned, housemade pickle festooned bastards of what they once were. Now, the burger (in general) has been forced to EVOLVE, I understand. But, if you want a simple, basic, GOOD burger in a simple, basic, rectangular building - eat at Baker's. Like Jesse B. said, the ordering setup is hilariously inefficient. They could make a minor investment in some simple point of sale equipment and save a lot of heartache. However, the antiquated setup adds to the charm for me. Guard your fry sauce cup and napkins (both provided on the tray when your order comes out, thankyouverymuch) carefully, as there is OBVIOUS weight assigned to these treasures. Otherwise they'd, y'know, be out near the fry sauce dispenser itself where adults could simply grab 'em up at will. Okay, food - I'm not on the fry bandwagon here. I don't like the double fried stuff; I'm not in the battered or unnecessarily crispy camp. I much prefer a steak fry style (preferrably without any skin - Red Robin style I suppose). However, since the fry sauce is doled out in such careful rations - it does make the fries taste better. I usually eat about half the cup I get. Burger: I always get the "Baker's". It's a simple affair: decent patty, fresh bun, tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, cheese and mayo, which I believe they call "white sauce". Nice job deflecting the negative connotation of mayo there. It's good. Think Helvetia Tavern, or Stanich's. Not QUITE on that level, but good nonetheless. Looking forward to my next visit!
(4)Shannon D.
Burger was excellent and the fry sauce was delicious. Onion rings looked better than they tasted.
(4)Allen K.
Awww yeah. This place serves up some solid American burgers and fries. Nothing fancy here, just straight forward meat, bread and potatoes that will keep you full for a good 6 hours. The fries might be the highlight of this place; they seem to be double fried or something so they're extra crispy on the outside but hot and soft on the inside. The fry sauce is a must, too. These guys know a thing or two about mixing their ketchup and mayo. I usually order to-go but decided to dine-in recently. Never realized they have Christian radio bumpin in the background. I didn't mind it -- got to enjoy my lunch with some Jesus jams in the background.
(4)Calvin L.
If you are into food like burgers and fries also not really into fancy food, this is for you. prices are reasonable. service is good.
(4)Eric S.
Good burgers expensive though and then after charging $10.00 a burger they want to charge 55 Cent's for a refill will not go again
(3)Chiemi N.
I've driven past the sign for Baker's Burgers a million times, I've always been curious about it. This past week, I was visiting my mom in the hospital across the street, when I realized I hadn't eaten yet that day. I was in the mood for a burger. I mean, I was reading a lot of reviews about burger places...and it put me in the mood for a burger. How convenient that I was right across the street from a burger place! I got the cheeseburger with fries and a drink. I'll admit that it's better than a fast food burger joint, but the price is also a little higher than the local mickey D's. I'm not big on french fries...but the french fries here are really good! Baker's Burgers also makes their own mayonnaise!
(3)Joe G.
Came in here for lunch. This building has been here for awhile and I have always wanted to stop by but never got the opportunity. The exterior was a little funky and I was hesitant about going in. The restaurant is a little old and the menu board looks like it serving hamburger along side teriyaki. It was a little odd, but it didn't scare me away. The counter-person was kind and promptly, she greeted me when I walked in. She was busy because she was also serving the drive-thru line, so order when you have her attention or you could be waiting. I did not know what to order, so I went with the basic Baker Burger. The tables were slightly dirty with crumbs, but its nothing to be disgusted about. There is a buffet hutch well stocked with French fry sauce, decent by the way. When your order is ready, they call your number or deliver food to your table, depending how busy it is. The burger was good, much better than a fast food joint, but nothing to rave about. I did want to try the hot dog, but I'll order that on my next trip. If you are in the area, at least stop by.
(3)Amber S.
Solid diner offering. Good burgers and fries. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible. I think they put Miracle Whip in their fry sauce. I hate Miracle Whip, but it actually works in the fry sauce. If you are in the neighborhood and need a burger, this will do. I wouldn't go out of my way for it though.
(3)Julia P.
very worst fish and chips ever.....halibut ? 11.99 ? very small portion which I would expect if it was halibut...that is ok...but this was so bad that I threw it out.....left a very bad taste in my mouth....literally. I do not like being taken advantage of....don't be fooled by the higher cost and the halibut label.....it is really bad....unfortunately I had taken it to go or it would have been walked right back up to the counter.....never visiting this establishment again.
(1)Kevin P.
1. Teriyaki chicken does not taste like chicken. Tastes like teriyaki rubber thingy. 2. They charge extra for the "special sauce". It's not that special 3. Hot dog is just a giant sausage. No condiments. Nothing. 4. Fries are the only reason this place gets the 2 stars.
(2)Lydia F.
Ordered a vanilla milkshake and a small, regular cheeseburger. Though i didn't spring for nothin' fancy, i didn't expect that tiny cardboard sliverburger. Hm. It was sort of like eating the sandwich bag, with a little bit too much iceberg lettuce. Eating things aside, i did like the little yellow wrapper it came in. But, really, the milkshake was quite good. It wasn't thick, made in the "ice milk" style which, in my experience, was popularized by the legendary Chick-fil-A franchise (it's an ice DREAM!), and is possibly my very fave shake.
(2)Holy-foo' X.
The fact that both Carl's Jr. AND Jack 'n' the Box are Yelp-Reviewed higher than this place tells you all you need to know. It has the trappings of fast food-- without the convenience (no real drive thru, at least not when I blew through there), lengthy wait, and by no means priced competitively. This place has the trappings instantly reminiscent of a Bob's Big Boy sort of local legend... and for a guy like me, with deep roots in Bob's Big Boy country, That really means something. However, this one was a complete Big Boy let-down...
(2)Chris L.
I usually run downstairs to stress eat after class, and this place ALWAYS hits the spot!! most say that this place is just OK, but this is one of my top fast food burgers in Portland. so far... Their cheeseburgers: legit. hearty beef flavor, with a good cheese:lettuce:tomato:sauce ratio. fries: so amazing. these are really unique in the world of frydom. they're thick, with a golden, double fried-type batter on top of the potato crispness itself. and they have a subtle but not overpowering bit of seasoning. please GET THE FRIES. and get the mayo-ketchup FRY SAUCE! -this is still a family owned joint, and the staff is super friendly, with their photos on the wall when you walk in. -the prices are decent here, at about $8.00 for a filling meal, and I would much rather go here any day than pay for the overpriced fast food at Burgerville! they also have a 10-15% student discount, so bring your ID's! -the orderrs take 5-8mins to complete so plan accordingly, it's not McDonalds fast. **you know what? I think I'm going to run downstairs right now for one. ditching time!!
(4)Sara Q.
Pretty bomb! Didn't think this place would be that great but it blew me out of the water. I got a junior cheeseburger with no mayo. The fries are phenomenal and they even have fry sauce. Not bad. They serve up milkshakes along with some other stuf like tasty chicken filet sandwiches, fish and chips, corn dogs and even teryaki. It is owned by a little older Asian lady. Kudos. Leave it tithe Asians to bring back American food.
(4)Anuj K.
doesn't make sense. The food isn't bad, and it's pretty cheap if you just get a burger. Everybody raves about the fries, and they're actually pretty good. I've only eaten here twice because of it's proximity to my work. If it wasn't so close, I'd never go. The economics of this place do not make sense to me, and I've heard other customers say things like, "well, if it's going to cost me $1 more to have less food I don't want it." My story - I go in, excited to try a mushroom burger with a veggie patty. The mushroom burger is 4.39, and to sub a veggie patty for the burger shouldn't cost too much more, right? Maybe $.50 to a dollar. I'm okay with that. Instead, she suggests that I get a veggie burger with mushrooms so I figure thats not a bad idea. She never tells me how much anything costs though. I hand her a $10 bill, and i only get $4 with some change back. In my head, I know the veggie burger is $3.89 so I'm really confused. I ask her politely how much it cost, and that I'm wondering if I got incorrect change in return. She informs me that the mushrooms were $1.50 (freaking $1.50 for mushrooms? really?!) and that the total was over $5. That got me really irritated, and I ended up saying, "Sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me." and I walked away. Yes, I still ate it, and it actually wasn't very good. The mushrooms tasted like they came out of a can, not even fresh! They were rubbery and salty. I'm used to having them slightly caramelized and earthy. Not what I was expecting. It was a poor experience, and one of the staff members is a huge stickler to the rules (not saying that this is a bad trait, but it really limits her ability to understand people's frustrations). Bottom line - there are plenty of delicious places to eat within walking distance. You won't see me here again.
(2)Jeff L.
I love Baker's Burgers! I get the Baker Burger meal every time. So tasty, and the workers are great. I recommend eating at Baker's. It's a small place, but the burgers and frys are best hot from the kitchen. They have corn dogs and other stuff on the menu, but the Baker Burger is the best.
(5)Adam E.
We went here because it is close to home and had some favorable reviews. Prices were reasonable, inside was clean, burgers were good. However that is about where it ends. My wife got the double quarter lb'er w/ cheese and I got a BBQ Pork sandwich (didn't want a burger). This sandwich was a huge mistake on my part for ordering and Baker's part for offering it. I took a bite and the thing was as tough as an old leather boot, and had the same flavor profile. I took a second bite just to make sure I couldn't eat anymore and the second bite was as tough, yet also crunchy. I have no clue how they cooked this thing, if it was actual meat, and why anyone would choose to serve this horrible sandwich. I told my wife I wouldn't have fed this to our dogs. So I'd give the burger 3.5 stars, the fries 3, the establishment 3, and the sandwich a 0. I'm sure anyone who goes here and just sticks to burgers will be ok but since I didn't I have to knock them down for what I did try. If you want local burger joints around Hillsboro go to Annie's or Helvetia Tavern for a much better menu and food.
(2)Feuy S.
I eat here regularly because it's convenient. I can literally throw a rock at Bakers from the window of my campus' library. The workers here are always nice, they give students a 10% discount (with student ID) and their food is decent. I usually order their fries or their chicken bento (teriyaki chicken). What I do not recommend are their burgers (ironic with a name like Bakers Burgers). I didn't think a hamburger patty could be so thin. Seriously, I couldn't find the meat last time because it was hidden under the cheese. It tastes more like eating bread than a burger. If you were to pay more for their quarter pounder, then maybe there will be more meat and it'll actually taste like a burger. But I'll pass and stick to the other items on the menu.
(3)Bobby D.
i went here for lunch and ordered the cheeseburger special for 3.39. I also tried the onion rings. The service was good, but the burger and onion rings were average. The burger did come with lettuce and mayo. The bun was a standard sesame burger bun that was very soft and almost like something you could mold into an animal figure. The taste was ok and didn't have a strong chemical after taste like some buns at fast food restaurants. The meat was sort of bland but not greasy and nothing a little ketchup wouldn't fix. This place is better than most fast food places, but there are better ones out there just not in this area of hillsboro in my opinion.
(2)Erick R.
The burgers are bland and not special at all. If you are a hardcore burger person in search for either a classic burger or a gourmet burger, or just a good burger; go somewhere else. I've been to this place twice, the first time the waitress scared me away by answering my "what's good here questions" with "I don't know, I don't eat here". The next time (several years later) I just went with their regular cheese burger. Blander than bland. I always judge a burger by it's core ingredients; bun, meat, cheese, and sauce. This had a frozen disc patty, lame cheese, lame buns, and mayo.
(2)Josh T.
Located right next my school, Baker's has come in very handy for a quick bite to eat. Their burgers and fries have a very nostalgic feel (at least they don't feel so fatty like more mainstream burger joints, but rather more like I would expect to see back in 50's diners). * *Quick note: That last sentence is a huge assumption of what I would expect 50's burgers to taste like since I am only in my 20's** The prices are fairly reasonable as well. There was one time that I ordered chicken strips with some barbecue sauce. Being a bit of a barbecue sauce fanatic, I did not like the barbecue sauce though. It was almost too tangy for me. However, if that suits you, be my guest.
(4)Dan B.
Great quality food for reasonable prices. Closed Sunday. Awesome fries and sauce. I am also a fan of the Baker's burger.
