I agree with the Vegan reviewer! My hubby and I are both vegetarians, and when traveling to Hermiston (for work, not by choice), there are little to no good options for good food, let alone vegetarian. It's Hermiston, so expectations are very low, sorry, but Taste of Thai is always a must stop for us (as is Ixtapa which I also reviewed), and it's always been really delicious and consistent. Highly recommend!!

It gets five stars because it is, by far, the best in the area. The food is very good, the service is prompt and courteous, and the decor fills out our, Eastern Oregon, Thai food experience. The prices are also reasonable. My wife and I have returned a dozen times (or more) in the two years we've been here, and we've never been dissatisfied. It's a wonderful addition to Hermiston.

Hubby has been working up in Hermiston since October. I went to see him over Veteran's Day weekend This was my first time in Hermiston. I was impressed with this restaurant. The best Pad Thai I've had in a long time. :)

Ate there today and I thought it was fine. My lunch was $8.95 and my gauge is alway red curry....this was good and plentiful. Two pot stickers were a nice side. It is dark and I didn't notice the cow motif, but my server was friendly, prompt, and checked back with me several times.

Taste of Thai is a great little place. The decor is slightly mixed up with faux cowhide booths and western themed carpeting mixed in with the elephant tablecloths and Thai religious parafanelia but the food more than makes up for the oddities. I suggest the Tom Kah soup and either the orange or garlic chicken any of their noodle dishes as well .

To those reviewers who think they know good Thai food and rip on this restaurant, to you I say; you know nothing! I lived in Thailand for over 5 years (I think I've eaten enough Thai food to know) I currently live in New York, and when I visit my family in Hermiston, I insist on eating at Taste of Thai as it is the next best thing to a true Bangkok family dinner! Do yourself a favour and order the larb or the chicken cashew nut, and any of the curries are tip top. Keep up the good work!

I would give it five stars if the service wasn't a little slow. The food is crazy good. Had the spicy chicken and the chicken satay. Great food. Farr better than you would expect in Hermiston

I would definitely eat here again. I love the server, she is awesome and efficient. I love the atmosphere... I think that the prices were reasonable and the food was good and well proportioned.

Love the food here... Great date place especially for a Po'dunk town we live in.. it's the best Thai food in town!!

This family run establishment serves better food than I would have expected from Hermiston. Great food but they tended to bring it out at different times instead of waiting to bring it all at once. I waited 10 minutes after everyone else was served.

OMG!! WORST chicken satay ... very small, tuff, rubbery, dry...I could not chew it. I thru it out when getting gas and waited till I got Portland to try again for good thai

The food was okay. We had chicken pad Thai and it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad. The service was AWFUL. I think we saw our server 3 times and it was to take our order, bring us our food and bring us our bill. Plus the service was really slow. It took us forever to get out food. The decor was really odd. It must have been an old western restaurant, turned Thai. I'm not sure I would go back again.

Today was my second time here. I run 2 offices, one of which is in Hermiston. One of my employee's/friends took me here the first time for lunch, and tonight I took my husband there for dinner. There food is VERY good! The only reason why they did not get 5 stars is it is not quite good enough for the price (right on the border of it though). I think their lunches are a tad bit better (and cheaper) but their dinner was really good. Price issue comes in at the fact that we had an appetizer, 2 entrees, a beer, and a glass of tea and it came to $50 pre-tip. For lunch I swear it was just as much food, as I said tasted better, and only like $6 a plate. A little more cost consistency would be nice (preferrably on the lower end). I will go there again for lunch, but doubt I will repeat the dinner.

Don't let the decor make you run and hide. Cowboy Thai? Okay, I'll give it a try. Cow print covered booths and plastic wrap-covered Thai elephants on the wall. But I guess everything is cowboy in this neck of the woods. My son asked why the art was covered in plastic wrap. To avoid dusting? ;) Christmas decorations still up alongside Valentine's Daon balloons and promos on February 15. Haha. We haven't had Thai food since living in Arizona. (We miss you, Latitude 8 in Chandler!). This is pretty decent, not the best, but I would certainly try it again. 3.5 really. Pad Thai is good, kind of our benchmark for Thai food. Huge portion! We ordered the appetizer sampler, but wish we'd just ordered the spring rolls which were excellent. The emerald butterflies (Thai cream cheese wontons) are good, no BBQ pork as it said there was on the sampler, and the satay was awful. The driest, chewiest, jerky of a satay I've ever had! Big portions, okay prices, but with limited options for Thai, why not? And we were scared by the look of some exteriors of Thai places nearby....

While visiting Hermiston for work the others in my group said this place was a must to eat at. I do like Thai food but was a little hesitant at how good it could be in such a small city. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. I had the Phad Chicken and it was very good. I ordered it at its hottest level and it really wasn't hot at all to me, but other than that it was very tasty and I had left overs. It was a little on the expensive end for a lunch, at least what I am used to, but worth it (nothing under $10). If your really into nice decor that flows well you may not be pleased here. The decor is a cowboy/thai theme that comes off as a "what the heck", but I enjoyed how the owners took what they had and rolled with it. Overall, if you like Thai and are near Hermiston you should definately stop by.

Food is average, but still a great place to go for food in Hermiston. Hate the cow-hide booths, and it does seem dark since you really are in the basement of a building. Seems expensive compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to in Portland.

A Thai Oasis! As a vegan traveling in Eastern Oregon for days, I had been living on L'Arabars and raw almonds and remarkably bad Chinese buffet food. Taste of Thai was so amazing- I'm convinced that they're not just good for Hermiston, they're capital G Good. Salad rolls were soft and fresh and full of crispy veggies and delicious tofu, and the Tom Ka soup was creamy and hot. Would that I could still weep, tears of happiness would have salted my soup.

Seafood combo was delicious. The waiters gave me just the right amount of attention and I loved the Thai karaoke on the TV. Sing along if you know the words.

I love this place. I haven't been here in awhile due to the fact they are closed on Sunday and that's usually the one time my husband and I come to hermiston. The chicken phad Thai is awesome. They use tamarind sauce. There is also a spicy prawn dish that is very good also. The spring rolls are served with a sweet plum sauce. The service is very friendly and welcoming everytime I was there. Hoping one day soon I will get to come back and enjoy it.

After spending 2 days in Hermiston, it looked there was not many options besides traditional American food. Luckily, we found Taste of Thai! Food was very good, typical cuisine of most Thai restaurants. Good service.
