I agree with all the reviews. Great family spot with extremely reasonable prices. The tuna sandwich and burgers with great. They accommodated nine of us bikers with no issues. Nice family that owns it too.

Yum! What an unexpected find in the small town of Heppner. Delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere make for money well spent! Vegetarians and vegans, don't forget to stop here when you're in Eastern Oregon! Lots of great options for you =)

Wonderful place to stop for breakfast. They bake all their own bread and pastries so if you order toast it'll be fresh, yummy, and delicious. The stawberry rhubarb roll was to die for! Owners are very sweet, friendly and welcoming as well as are a pleasure to talk with. Prices are very reasonable, if not too low and the home made food is amazing!

WOW! The second time in my life ordering my eggs over medium, and they were perfect! Food quality is top notch for a small town diner. John & Kathy truly care about providing a quality experience.

This was the best breakfast I have ever bought! We were traveling through Oregon last August and ended up staying in Heppner on a Saturday night. Sunday morning, we woke up to go walk around to find some breakfast, and it appeared everything was closed. But we could SMELL bread and cinnamon rolls baking at this diner/bakery...so we sauntered over and were looking at their hours when the owner came out and said they could open early for us. It was like sitting in somebody's home. Everything was cooked fresh...I could see them cutting and peeling fresh veggies for my omelet and cracking REAL eggs (no whipped eggs out of a carton here!). I later learned that the majority of the veggies in my veggie omelet were grown in their own garden. And they make their own salsa with their own produce. When we received our meal, our plates were full! And to top off a fresh (really, not just a marketing term) veggie omelet, the bread on the side was homemade! It reminded me of eating my grandma's fresh-out-of-the-oven bread when I was a kid. The menu appears very simple. Just "Veggie Omelet." Nothing is advertised that it is homegrown or fresh baked bread, which I think adds to the authenticity of the place and the people. This place and the people are fantastic!!! A great deal (money-wise), but more than that, just an enjoyable place to relax and eat a homemade breakfast. I wish I could travel through more often!

The BEST cinnamon rolls ever. We stumbled upon this hidden gem a couple of years ago and will make a trip from Kennewick, WA to Heppner, OR just to get these cinnamon rolls. The owners are the sweetest people you will ever meet. I love the healthy menu options and everything is made fresh. They even grow their own veggies.

These people understand how to source and create the best food! We were there first thing in the morning. They have a good variety of options from great sources! I believe I remember that the eggs were organic. Seriously delicious breakfast! Alongside breakfast we received large slices of honey wheat bread - fresh out of the oven that morning! And then there were the Cinnamon/Strawberry/Rhubarb Sweet Rolls. I believe they only make them in rhubarb season. Perfect rolls... every bite. I wanted 10 more! It sounds like their lunches are stunning (would have loved to stop back, but we were passing through) and from our conversation I can tell that these people understand food that is great for your body and for your palette! The owners are great people who make great food. P.S. They open at 9:00, but if you want breakfast a little earlier, give them a call and see if they're able to host you earlier - we did!

"Wonderful vegetarian meals in the middle of cattle country, with a nod to health conscious carnivores. They grow some of their own produce, bake everything fresh and have a long list of menu options. Thank them for finally bringing healthy tasty eating to Heppner."

I just spent a weekend in Heppner, Oregon as part of a 2-day bike ride on the Blue Mountain Century Scenic Bikeway. Being gluten free, I was a little worried about going to eastern Oregon/cattle country and being able to have anything gluten free. Usually when I'm in rural Oregon and I inquire about gluten free items, I am met with a blank stare. Well to my surprise, that wasn't the case in Heppner. Willow Creek Diner & Bakery made me the BEST gluten free chocolate chip cookies to eat over the course of the 2-day ride. I was so impressed, after the ride we stopped in at the Bakery for lunch on the way out of day. Again, we were all impressed with the food we were served. It was so good, I couldn't stop eating -- I was way too stuffed on the drive back to Portland. I also inquired about the recipe for the cookies and it was gladly shared. Can't wait to make them at home. Thanks!

Here are some reasons you should stop here if you happen to be one of the lucky folks in the area. 1) Homemade breads. More specifically, really good homemade breads. 2) The best maple bar I've ever experienced. I've never cared much for maple bars, but this one made me care A LOT. So good. 3) Satisfying vegetarian menu. Along with standard diner fare, there are many vegetarian options and the owners are purposeful about using environmentally-responsible options when possible (even growing their own organic tomatoes for salsa) 4) The most charming human beings you will ever have the pleasure of paying for a meal. The owners were sweet, friendly, inspiring and as warm as their freshly baked breads. They were welcoming and willingly shared stories of town and their home life with us. Just wonderful people who we talked about with fondness and admiration all the way home. Please, please make this part of your Heppner passing-through experience.
