Such lovely things here!! Lovely coffee, lovely people and lovely decor!!! For those of you that remember Java Bay of old this is like it only in a sense that people can gather and enjoy coffee and chatting. Gone is the dirty comic papered bathroom and the hit or miss cups of coffee.... These gals are consistent and truly know how to give great service. It's been a while since I've really enjoyed everything about a coffee shop.

Don't be fooled by the location. A great place to grab some wonderful coffee and a snack. They have pastries, sandwiches and plenty of other goodies. It is a relaxing environment with great artwork on the wall to stare at blankly as you take a break from typing away on your laptop for work or school. Plenty of outlets and room to get some work done. And the staff here are always very friendly and greet you with a smile.

I absolutely adore this place! Their coffee & pastries are delicious. Usually I'm skeptical about trying Carmel lattes anywhere but Silk's is delicious.

I love this cute life cafe! Every time I am brought out to Gresham for business I always make it a point to stop in! Jenny always has a great smile and warm welcome to offer!! Thanks for being adorable Silk Espresso!

A great little coffee & tea place. They make your iced tea fresh from your choice of teas and they were very good teas. Also have a HUGE selection of gluten free treats, which is always a plus for us!

Love the Carmel Creme latte; with they had a size bigger than a 20oz. Staff is very nice and quick.

This coffee shop is a regular stop for the students at the nearby community college for coffee and snacks. I've started stopping in when I'm nearby for lunch. Not only do they have a full coffee bar, but the lunch offerings are great as well. They always have several soups, sandwiches, pastries, and side salads. Free wifi, comfortable seating and very friendly baristas also make that place delightful. (Oh....there's a liquor store next store....bonus.)

Serves Stumptown coffee, which is a plus. First real coffeeshop on this side of town going west toward Portland. Service is friendly and sufficient, but not always overly accommodating. Still, will come again.

"Welcome to Gresham/Troutdale, where the coffee is sh*t!" BUT WAIT, THERE IS HOPE. That hope is called Silk Espresso and Pastries. Yes, they serve Stumptown coffee. Granted, it's not done flawlessly or in any super-impressive manner, but they have a good machine, staff is trained a bit, and if all else fails, they have Stumptown cold brew on tap (CO2, not nitro). The staff is courteous and the owner is caring, something that many coffee shops in Portland could learn from. One time, it was only my friend and I in the shop and the owner came by with a giant plate of samples and put it in front of us. Hello. Yes, thank you. The food is pretty great - muffins, cookies, sammies (which are delicious). It's all fairly priced. There are some GF options from Petunia's, too. You can purchase bags of Stumptown beans along with some coffee equipment, if you so desire (the legit kind). I can't get over how homey Silk is. As I stated, the staff is so warm and it feels like a family. There are couches (with plenty of comfy pillows), wooden tables for 2-4, and bars facing the street. Come here if you want to catch up with old friends, have a chill place to work remotely, or enjoy a good book for an hour or two.

What a great find! The ladies behind the counter were super nice and sweet. Their sandwiches are bomb! Organic everything and quite tasty for a good price. I had their Ethiopian beehive coffee which just complimented the sandwich to no end. All in all very impressed.

STUMPTOWN. Not much more needs to be said. Friendly and fast. Best place in Gresham for a truly good cup of joe.

Best coffee in gresham/troutdale Hands Down!! True to its name the coffee is smooth and silky. Service is always friendly and quick.

Though we live in Sandy, we still head over quite regularly to get some great coffee. Stomp town coffee is used which is a plus and the flavor is amazing.:)

Not a whole heck of a lot to say about Silk aside from the fact that the coffee is delicious and they actually have decent food as well. It's a laid back, clean, inviting café. We like it!

Excellent pastries, Stumptown coffee (yay!), and nice folks. Best coffee spot in Gresham. I have to deduct a star for the location though. The parking lot is always an accident waiting to happen :(.

I am a full on coffee snob. Period. I think the purpose of drinking coffee is to taste the coffee, not the million of weird syrup flavors that are added to it. This is the only coffee place in the Gresham/Troutdale area that I have found that serves stumptown. They sell the whole beans and also have the cold brew in bottles. yeah! Finding that made my day for sure! The lattes are fine. Not as delicious as case study or barista or albina press, but hey, when I need a coffee near my house these are made with stumptown and that is a huge plus!

Best coffee in Gresham. Any place that serves Stumptown knows a thing or two about coffee! I buy my beans by the bag here to make coffee at home, but I occasionally splurge on a latte. I have not had any of the pastries, muffins, sandwiches, etc... but they have a wonderful selection, even for a light lunch. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smooth, silky latte! Try one, you won't be disappointed!

    Best coffee joint in Gresham.

They sell Stumptown so you know the coffee is going to be good. The baristas are really nice and make you feel welcome. My #1 spot for good coffee in Troutdale!

I don't know what kind of chai they use but this place seriously has the best soy chai latte in town. I stop in whenever I'm in the area for a fix.

When I lived in Gresham I stopped in at Silk daily. Their coffee is smooth and always delightful tasting! They hand stamp their own cups which is a cute touch. They were two locations one if off Powell behind McCraes and the other is off Hogan by Mthood CC. Both locations serve the same great local coffee.

The low prices are great, because of the cheap ingredients Just wish they didn't serve the cheapo syrups and actually spent a bit more on the quality since that's the look they're going for. I mean I'd pay a quarter more for something that's not low quality like what they serve. The people don't have much knowledge when it comes to coffee though. They're not the brightest crayon in the box, but they're nice enough. Pretty sure the owner is thanking the heavens that coffee shops have low overhead in terms of coffee not dairy since that place is empty no matter when I drive by. Maybe hiring more experienced baristas would bring in more people?? Or Like I said before, higher quality ingredients, because what they serve is not even close!!!

Amazing coffee, and the best in Gresham, I agree. And they serve Stumptown coffee! Need I say more?

I went to Silk again two days later. WORSE THAN THE FIRST TIME. In the morning with a different employee. I got a latte and a chocolate croissant. The latte was bland again and the croissant was horrific. It must have been from days before. Hard and tasted like a refrigerator. I will never go back.

A great place to come, relax and enjoy food and drink. Leah and the girls are great and very patent with those who are differently abled then the "norm". So stop on bye when your out and about.

Whenever we walk through Silk's doors we enter a state of completeness. This coffee shoppe is, in simple terms, perfect. The staff and service is personal and sincere without being annoying. They always remember my wife's drink-of-choice. They never remember mine because I always switch it up (gotta keep them on their toes, you know). The syrup options are many, and the sugar-free options are also. There's ample options for seating, both comfy and useful (for when you need to break out the laptop). Perfection in a cup.

Silk is easy to love. Clean, nice, good coffee and not pretentious. The staff is attentive. The owner works hard(my biggest pet peeve is when you see an owner being high and mighty but this lady gets down and dirty!) I also appreciate how efficient they are. Great place to meet people and kid friendly. Come here if you like good coffee and a great place. You won't be disappointed.

Took the kids (4 &1) for breakfast on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy, great food, and they were very friendly to the kids. The tea is amazing, but unfortunately like most coffee shops they brew it way too hot. To eat I ordered 2 egg sandwich things on English muffins, one with ham and one with spinach, both very good.

Silk Espresso is the best place to get coffee in the Gresham/Troutdale area. The service is fantastic and the drinks are consistently good! It's a great place to meet for coffee, and many small business owners take advantage of that. The best Mexican Mocha I've ever had!!

Silk's owner, Leah McMahon, should be the poster child for small businesses. Since she opened her first drve-through stand on Powell in Gresham she has done everything right in terms of quality coffee drinks, great prices, yummy pastries, innovative marketing and excellent service. She is an outstanding member of the business community. Her success comes as no surprise to me - this is a buisness and a product that deserves a try!

I like silk coffee better than Starbucks or Dutch brothers. They have more sugar free flavors and a nice pastry selection.

I love this place! The owner is very hands on with the cafe and with the community. Not to mention they are very green. The baristas are very friendly and know their coffee. Oh yeah the coffee is great too!

Found this little gem recently and really like it. I'm a tea drinker and I love their tea they sell! And as a bonus they do offer some sweet treats that are gluten free. I enjoy siting and having some quiet time while I drink my tea and eat a treat to start off the morning.

Amazing service and the recommendation from the girl behind the counter was great. I went there early on a Sunday and it was nice to see plenty of options available for food. I would make this a regular place, if I only lived closer. I will stop by again when in the area!

Awesome coffee - who doesn't love Stumptown?!?! Gresham finally has a Stumptown coffee shop! I also really liked their breakfast sandwich. Very very good. The coolest part was - last time - when the sandwich didn't taste like normal - they totally remade it for me and it tasted perfect. They're very flexible and truly care about their customers.

Stopped in this AM before trekking forth for 7 hours in a car with our 10-month-old superspawn. Needless to say, caffeine was a requirement. But we also added on a couple breakfast sandwiches that were seriously tasty. Awesome service, great coffee and good food. This is the best coffee shop in the 'Ham hands down.

Silk is a cute enough place, but the mochas aren't particularly stellar. We stopped by for coffee this morning. My brother had the house mocha while I tried one of their specialty mochas, the Mexican Mocha, with espresso, cinnamon and toasted cacao spiced chocolate milk with whipped cream. I love Mexican hot chocolate so I figured this was right up my alley. Unfortunately, it was a rather average mocha with just a hint of cinnamon. I added sweetener and more cinnamon to make it interesting. My brother's mocha was also pretty bland. I bought one of their chocolate cream cheese muffins, which was sweet and tasty. The parking lot here is very crowded, so be prepared to fight for a spot.

I only had the pleasure of stopping by a few times during a visit to the area for my sister-in-law's wedding but we had a great experience every time! The coffee is great and the employees are just as great as the coffee! My sister-in-law has since moved to the area so I'm looking forward to enjoying more of their coffee when we visit!

One off my cousins friend brought us coffee from this place, and she got me the white chocolate mocha but it was blended. It was amazing!!!!!! The best white chocolate mocha I've ever had! I'm definitely gonna be going here more often to try out there coffee. It was sweet, but also had that strong coffee taste! And the whip cream is nice and thick the way I like it! So amazing!

Lovely coffee shop! They don't charge extra for "alternative" milks! So kind. Friendly staff and delicious Stumptown coffee and Petunia's GF/vegan pastries.
