This used to be The Quilted Goose before Shari's moved in, way back when. What a fun name, I wonder what that means. The coworkers decided that it was "Coffee and Cake" day, probably because of the mangy weather, crazy/busy schedules, and general disdain for working on Thursday. I went along with this, and we decided to have our weekly meeting/lunch at Shari's. They have revamped the menu since I've been.. which was really a while ago, so it could be an old menu. I ordered the "New!" prime rib dip sandwich and a mango iced tea. Yipes, 10hr old meat much? Grody fleshy underfried onion rings. On a plastic plate. Mango tea that was allll knock off Torani mango syrup. Just ick. But I'm starved, so I eat. Other peeps got some various salads, the Gourmet (read gor-met) Nachos, ceasear wrap. All met with ho-hums. What Shari's does marginally well, the pie. Cherry, with coffee. No cake available. What else... oh, the SMOKING SECTION with lottery games! Complete with "If you appear younger than 35 you will be asked for your identification" The neon Coors Light sign glittering on my name badge as I walked out the door.

Well to start off with it's a chain restaurant, so minus one star off the top. From there they pretty much go down, down, down until you get to the bottom of my list for chain restaurants. I don't hate everything about this place, just most things. The food is mediocre at best. The service is ok, but nothing spectacular, and in the past few years they've raised their prices. On the other hand, the shakes are decent, the pie's ok, and if you're fresh off a particularly rough night at the bar - this is your place (if you live in the neighborhood anyway). So one star for the food, ambiance, etc. But I just gotta add one star for being a place that wont kick you out no matter how much you've drank at 3am.

Usually love this place tonight I had the pot roast and there was so much brown gravy on it that it was all I could taste. Other than that the waitresses are always very nice and service is fast. Breakfast will be the only thing I order here from now on hahaha!

Yes, I AM giving Shari's a four star review, also! My friend and I stopped in for a late breakfast after a night out at Edgefield. The service from the second we walked through the door was excellent. We were greeted by a server behind the counter and then promptly seated at a booth by one of the friendliest hosts I've ever experienced...come to find out it was her first day! Impressed! Everything was great, but the topper on this experience was I ordered the banana cream pie and was approached by two servers at the same time to sadly inform me they were out of my first choice. I quickly went with my second choice of chocolate cream pie and they both seemed pleased they had that flavor and began to walk away. Quickly one of the ladies turned around and asked if I would like a sliced banana on top of my pie to make up for being out of the banana cream! And yes, I did want that and it was delicious! The same server, who wasn't ever our server, poked her head out of the door on our exit to check on if I liked the banana on top of my pie! I manage a restaurant and I don't care if you are in a steak house or a diner ~ great service is great service and it will always be appreciated by customers like myself! Thank you!

First of all the pudgy old guy at the register in the tie just looked at us as we came in. Then when we finally got a server over to take our order she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients for some two of the items we ordered.... this actually caused one of our party to go without. Finally when she did bring our order one of the items were wrong... great job guys.

This restaurant truly treats their customers as they value their business and makes your day or night a moment to remember. I went to this location on May 25th 2012 with my fiancee and our mutual friend. The waitresses promptly seated us and continued to anticipate our needs throughout our entire experience. I was told this restaurant had amazing breakfasts and agreed to have a special fajita omlette made by their chef John who cooked the eggs to perfection of melted cheese, fresh crisp vegetables and the waitress suggested I try the stuffed hashbrowns which turned out to be incredible and I highly recommend trying them. My fiancee stated the following for her salmon ceaser salad: the salmon was cooked perfectly, moist and tender and melting in your mouth. The lettuce and the vegetables were crisp and was dressed exactly to order. She also highly recommends the cranberry lemonade and recommends this restaurant highly for future dates. Our friend who ordered the Trailboss had the following to say: it was down right delicious! The meat was juicy and cooked mid-rare which is difficult with many of the local places overcooking the burgers. The egg was not overcooked and made the burger amazing. Each bite left me wanting to continue eating. He went on to say that he had many burgers in many places throughout Portland, Gresham, Hillsboro and this made his night. That he will definitely be returning in the future. We all enjoyed the night cap of a piece of famous Shari's pie and they were amazing. I personally recommend the peanut butter silk pie. You will not be let down eating here. The staff was incredible and the waitress Tara believes in honesty with the customers and lead me away from the biscuits and gravy and to the homemade jam which I would not have normally done. Everyone at this restaurant knows what it means to keep customers coming back.

Very POOR service, we sat down for lunch and the waitress took our order, 30 minutes the waitress came back and said that the computer made an error and that she needed to re order, we got up and were out of there never to return, not the first time we have had poor service in Gresham

Yes, I AM giving Shari's a four star review. Not because it's some artisan's masterpiece. It's 24 hours, the food is always cooked well, the location is very clean, and the waitress we always get on a late night is a total gem (I believe her name is Christy). They are always quick to greet and seat us, and that particular waitress needed only to see us once to build a rapport with us and ever since then, she has greeted us with familiarity. It's really nice to be able to have a consistent place to go to when we get out of work (we're self employed and have to take very long drives out to Eastern Oregon/Washington often that take about 9 hours and leave us with few dinner options upon our return) late. No, it's not fancy. It's a diner, but it's a consistently good and friendly and clean diner. We're never disappointed at this Sharis, and trust me we have been to a few bad Shari's restaurants.

This place has really improved. I used to go here 3-4 times a week in 2006 and 2007, then the service, the staff, and the food tanked. Currently, the prices are a high, but the service - the icing on the cake- is really taking a turn for the better. I think they're investing more in good people and friendliness. The food is getting somewhat better too. I go here maybe 1-2 times a month because I live in Beaverton, but my Dad likes it again, so it's a fun place. The banana splits are AWESOME :)

Came here at around 6:00pm Easter Sunday for dinner, there was hardly anyone else there so you would think service would be fast, but it wasn't. Then there is the food, less than mediocre for two of the three people, third person was pleased with his cheddar broccoli soup but not impressed with his mozzarella sticks ( he even said that Jack In The Box has much better mozzarella sticks). If you do decide to go here definitely don't get the baby back ribs, that is what I had and they were the worst baby back ribs I have ever had, they were covered in a sauce that was way way too sweet, and the sides weren't good either.

Only sat on hold to place an order to go for 20 minutes... that's okay, there are 5 other restaurants nearby that do want my business.

Above average, was pleasantly surprised! I don't expect too much from the American chains but I had a delicious spinach omelet and steel cut oatmeal breakfast.

The only time I go to Shari's is around 1-3 in the morning because it's the only sit down place near my house after being out late. I love their loaded hash browns and loaded mash potatoes. If I could change about 2 things about the place is that if they could not keep the restaurant so cold, I'm always freezing in there. Also the waitress are horrible. They will seat you and give you water but wont check back with you for about 15-30 min and when we order the food takes forever to come out . Like I can be at Shari's at 1 am and order a country fried steak and won't get it till 50 mins later then eat and won't get home till about 3 am. Needs more workers on weekend nights instead of 2 workers at least have 3-4

When we went here for breakfast and it took awhile for us to get our seats. The once we go your food ordered, it took a long time to get our food. Our food was cold so it makes me wonder how long it was sitting. I only sent my eggs back because I didn't want to wait for all of my food. Our waitress did get me hot eggs and comped our drinks.
