    Amazing Eggs Benedict!

This place isn't bad for a sunday morning breakfast, although I've had better. Service was nice and prices were reasonable, not to mention the waitresses that work there wear awesome German/St. Pauli girl style costumes. Great pancakes, and the eggs weren't half-bad, either. My husband got the eggs benedict and said they were quite tasty. Don't forget to check out the great gift shop on your way out and get yourself a souvenir.

The exterior is fun with the water wheel and all, there is a neat little gift shop where you can buy trinkets and coo coo clocks. Wife and I ordered sausage dinner and chicken fried steak. Chicken was average, nothing notable. The brats looked fantastic looking but had little flavor, warm potato salad was good. Service was good and people were very friendly. Price was a little steep for quality of food. 45 bucks for two meal and a bread appetizer.

Fresh Strawberries are back!!! Put them on Belgium waffles, crepes, shortcake, even try em on pancakes; topped with homemade whipped cream!!! Head in soon, before you miss them!!!! Their crab omelet is also amazing! Fresh crab and homemade hollandaise sauce!

I have been to Heidi's many times, The restaurant is a family oriented environment with great specials. My self I'm a breakfast guy, and would not pass the opportunity to eat in this restaurant or even in the lounge. Oh the lounge, the lounge has a special that they run everyday that is the bomb. "The Sportsman" A large cheese burger with all the fix-ens on a hoagie bun with fries, soup and a Beer for around $11. My buddies and I have spent many a days after golf eating that special.

I came here for a Christmas party and it was awesome! Granted i didn't have to pay for anything so that may have contributed to my satisfying experience. :-) I ordered the salmon and it was a HUGE portion. It had a unique sauce on top which i didn't care for too much but the salmon itself was flaky and delicious. It also came with a large baked potato. For dessert i got one of their many selection of pies. I think it was the German chocolate. I didn't eat too much of it since i was stuffed but what i did have of it i loved. Overall i had a great first time experience. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good meal.

Service was good and they all greeted us promptly and were very friendly. The wait staff all wore costumes and the decor was unique. The food on the other hand was pretty bland. My boyfriend and I ordered the fondue for an appetizer. They did give a healthy amount of bread and cheese but the fondue was pretty basic. I like fondue with more flavor. If you're someone who likes to get fondue, i recommend going to places like urban fondue or Gustavs because they do fondue right. For our entrées we ordered thier lunch special which was an open face pot roast sandwich with mashed potatoes and an order of their cabbage rolls. The plate arriving looked good but once we dug in to the pot roast we were disappointed by how dry the meat was, even though it was smothered in gravy. Then to the mashed potatoes....sorry im not a fan of flakes mashed potatoes from a box and that is exactly what they tasted like. Finally the cabbage rolls....finally something right. I did sprinkle a little salt on them, but these rolls filled with beef and rice toppes with tomatoes were actually quite good. I haven't been here since i was a kid and apparently i wasent missing out on anything. With all the great food in portland, restuants really need to step up their game with the quality they put out.

Thumbs down for dinner. Full of blue hairs. I soon figured out why-- they have a whole page of age-restricted cafeteria fare for under $10 (meatloaf, Swiss steak, cabbage rolls, liver, you get the picture). Asked the waiter what was good...said anything with crab, like the Chicken Oscar for $17. It was amateur--so much yellow sauce (from a packet?) I could not taste anything but salt. Limp yellow asparagus. Served only with boring food service rice "pilaf". Got fondue appetizer. For a supposedly Swiss restaurant, it tasted like mostly runny American cheese. The cheesy broccoli cauliflower soup?..I think I know where all the old fondue ends up, just add some mushy leftover veggies--voila! Heck, maybe even the leftover yellow sauce. The place had a lot of people who acted like regulars. The ones who weren't blue hairs were generally blue collars. Not that I take issue with that--I was looking for a place to take my family for good food and reasonable price. We ended up ordering their overpriced sucker dishes at $18/plate plus $10 fondue [queso]. The salmon was fine, but not huge as somebody said, and also came with the flavorless rice. The surf & turf: steak "ok" (6 oz vacuum pack sirloin?), frozen fried shrimp, and instant mashed potatoes in a cup. The quality of the meal and service did not rise to the level of the check. If I lowered my expectations and ordered $10 Swiss steak (hamburger & gravy with mash) I probably would have been more contented. Frankly, we could have had a better meal for half the price and equivalent ambiance at Home Town Buffet. The desserts looked semi-appealing. But on closer inspection, they were just larger than normal...creating the appeal. They looked dried out, and considering the quality of our meal, I doubted they contained quality ingredients or flavor. I passed. They have a schlock shop on the way out with a bunch of european'ish schlock from China. The signs throughout, "smile, you are on camera" and "pretty to look at, nice to hold, if it breaks, consider it sold!" just wreaked of a top-notch classy joint. I had the overwhelming sense that some cranky old meiser named Heidi Rosenblatt was watching us through her 1970's camera, just itching for my boys to drop an overpriced plastic statuette.

Not a bad experience. Homestyle food at an honest price. Our server Charles was excellent! Pressure fried chicken was perfect and thoroughly cooked, you could almost eat the whole thing if not careful. Would return!

  • Gillian P.

The food is good and it's a charming old timey place. Our server Carmelita however was terrible. Super rude and forgetful and my food came out 20 minutes after everyone elses. Ugh. It's usually not that bad though. It was a mothers day brunch. Busy. My cinnamon roll french toast however was delicious.

They have the BEST Mamosa's!! I recommend this place! Give it a try. The staff is also AMAZINGGG and FRIENDLY!!

My son and I went there for my Father's day meal. Having lived (and cooked as a chef) in Germany for many years I looked forward to a selection of tradition German meals but, after seeing the menu choices I didn't want to stay but it was getting late and we were hungry. Only the sausage and sauerkraut combo and wiener schnitzel (pork not even veal) were the only two German meals I found, and I didn't want them. I went with fish and chips but was appalled at the three pieces of cod that were offered and made mention of it. All of what we had was poorly seasoned and I'd be very suprised if there is one German cook in the kitchen! Even the waitresses in Dirndles failed to present a German flavor and even the music was not German!!?? I found the food to be nothing special but just the usual choices that you can have in any 'regular' restaurants that are just a step above fast food restaurants. There won't be a second visit as the name and look of the place is misleading and there was NOTHING there that couldn't be had at most other eateries. Pay more and go to the Rheinlander for real german food.

Heidi's has all the trappings of what you would think would be a German restaurant. It's got that gasthaus look from the outside, the hostesses all dolled up in dirndles, loads of totchkes that only a granny could love - then you look over the menu. It's basically diner food with a couple German dishes thrown in. The food was good - I had the weinerschnitzel, which was tender and crispy, but I would have liked a sauerbraten or a roulade to choose from. I can get a burger anywhere. The cream of mushroom soup was yum! I ate 2 cups! The desserts and pastries were kind of disappointing too - no freaking streudel? Are you kidding me? The food was good enough to go back but more German specialties would make it more, enjoyable I think

one of my favorite places to eat in Gresham. i could eat their cheese fondue for every meal for the rest of my life! and the staff dresses in little adorable dutch outfits!!!!!

Well I give this place three stars because my husband and I ate there for dinner one night and it was really good and we went back for breakfast this last weekend with high hopes that it would be just as good......and it wasn't much to my surprise. What I had was the sunny side up eggs and hashbrowns with english muffin and they didn't present it well nor did it taste that good. I asked for the hashbrowns well done and they came out medium at best. The muffin was a hockey puck slathered in margarine(GROSS), the egg whites where pretty runny and the waitress never came by after she delivered our meal to ask how it was. How can you screw up a breakfast like that? It is fool proof, or so I thought anyway! I would have sent my food back, but didn't since the waitress disappeared. It was also very overpriced for what I got almost 9 bucks. This is without bacon or some other meat choice. My husband on the other hand had chicken fried steak and I didn't hear any complaints from him so perhaps it was just me. In either case I recommend that you go there for dinner instead. The mushroom soup is REALLY good.

If you're seeking a German experience then keep driving. The menu resembles Elmers, iHop, and the like. Crowd is seniors, ambiance is '70s/'80s. That said, their version of traditional Eggs Benedict was very good and the portion was ample. No high-end ingredients, but it works. The Beef Barley soup (you know, like Campbell's) was also above average. Homey feel and good service lend to a packed parking lot.

Love, love, love this place. Been eating the 12 egg omelet for many years! This is the place to go for fast service, wonderful food, and great value. I wish this breakfast/lunch place did dinner/evenings too. None of the breakfast food chains come anywhere close to matching this place.

  • Robert J.

We took our swim team there for lunch. They had plenty of seating for our group. The service was great and accommodating as we needed separate checks. The food was prompt and very delicious! They did a great job making a fun time for our lunch! Thank you!

  • Akacia R.

Service was good however food was a disappointment. Came on lunch and ordered a French dip. Sandwich was very bland.

  • Troy R.

Wish I could comment on the food but I never had a chance. At 8:30pm, I wanted to stop in for a Wienerschnitzel and a Hefeweizen. I waited about 10 minutes for a hostess to seat me even though there were only 5-6 tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Got seated and waited another 15 minutes without anyone coming for a drink order. I could see the waitresses chatting over by the soft drink station but I couldn't get their attention. A large group of about 8 people sat down at a table near me and when I saw a waitress start to get their drink order, I was done. My wife and I walked out, past the cashier and nobody said a word. Maybe it's not unusual to have customers walk out? Wish I could give 0 stars for service!

  • Catalina D.

I came here on mothers day with my son and sister. Right off the bat it was about a 10 minute wait, we'll worth it! We were seated and told it might take a little longer to get our food than usual, because of it being mothers day. Well it wasn't that long if a wait, and the time we did wait was well worth it! I can't wait to be back with my son and husband!

    (5)
  • Mandy S.

This place serves one of the best Denver omelettes I've ever had! I love the little dresses that the waitresses wear, they are adorable. My godmother ordered the chicken fried steak and gave me a bite which was also delicious. I have no complaints about the food or the service but I do think this place could use a little updating/remodeling.

    (4)
  • Levi L.

I just had the best crab omelette that I've ever had. I strongly recommend it. Also - just a tip - have them add avocado. Mmmm...

  • Thomas S.

I've eaten here a couple of times and I can sum it up by saying, great food, bad coffee. The french toast a l'orange is absolutely my favorite and would go well with a really good cup of coffee. But unfortunately coffee is extremely weak. The times I've been I keep trying the coffee, hoping that they'll make it stronger, but every time I'm disappointed. So please make your coffee stronger. I love the food, but most of it goes well with coffee. =

Had a very nice lunch here today. We both enjoyed our meals & ordered a beverage. Only $25! I had the spaghetti & it tastes like something my mom would make. Very impressed! We will be going back soon:) They have beer, wine, lots of dessert & a cute little gift shop. This place won't let you down!!!

  • Mike G.

Dennys like menu but a lot greater staff. Went in on a Friday night with a group of 10 and the waitress handled us like a pro! Very attentive, on the ball and kept a smile the whole time. Food was eh ok, but everyone was able to get what they were in the mood for. I had fish and chips, the guy next to me had spaghetti. Nice variety.

They have the best crab bennidect! Amazing bloody mary.. must go. Wait staff very friendly. Like grammas house

We've been going to Heidi's for many years and their food is consistently great. Love their very extensive menu. Always consistent. Highly recommended.

  • Avalyn H.

Wanted a Rueben without driving to Skyway in Welches. I thought this would be the place to go... Not so much. Very overpriced for what you get. The corned beef was dry and the potato salad tasted like something out of the carton. Not to mention the Monte Cristo sandwich my husband got had thousand island dressing put on it. Not a good pick overall and I won't be going back. Next!

  • Leah M.

Love the daily specials, blackberry crepes OMG! Today I had the eggs benedict though. They have the best around! The hollandaise sauce was superb! Husband had the pork chop dinner and was extremely happy with his decision. Very rarely do I finish my plate, but I sure did tonight. Went home stuffed and happy!

  • Geoffrey B.

Clean bathrooms, a little overpriced for Denny's style food but they did have much bigger selection. Very friendly staff. Most seem like they liked their job. Our waitress was funny, kind, gently touched a shoulder at times for a kind gesture. Very elderly clientele but is was Thursday for lunch. Good parking spaces, easy to get in and out. Not gourmet or super high quality food...but good environment.

Go away! This is our restaurant!! Standard dishes, but done right. Go to the french restaurant on Division or Fremont, and leave this one to us! The gift shop is a Salt and Pepper collectors dream. 1950s Return, or never left, and has Lounge if you prefer dive/casual. Again, beat it! This is our place.

  • Ramie M.

Great service, warm and inviting atmosphere, food is good and hasn't changed in years. Whether I want breakfast for breakfast, or breakfast for dinner - this place is a nice go-to. Bacon has always been prepared as requested, eggs as well, and the prices are just fine. My only qualm is that I have ordered a sausage crumble omelette on numerous occasions, and have been charged 3 very different prices for it ranging from $7.50 to as much as $11.50. I am not really sure why it varies so much for just that one item.

    (5)
  • Angela W.

I always get good service here. The blueberry muffins are to die for, if you ask my daughter. Their kettle of mushrooms is a must try appetizer for mushroom lovers. My husband loved their fried chicken. Enjoy!

Love the food, people are great, all around amazing experience! Not very pricy and all day breakfast? I think yes! What could be better?

  • Amanda M.

Was very disappointed with my visit. The hostess seated two other groups before me that came in the door after I did of the same size (two) our server was bland and not friendly. I ordered the Belgian waffle combo which came with waffle two eggs and sausage or bacon. I also ordered a hashbrown. The food came out in a pretty decent amount of time considering they were busy which was about the only good thing. My portions were very small and I finished all my food and my extra hashbrown and was still hungry (mind you I'm a 5"3 120lbs girl) my water was not refilled at all the entire time and my food was pretty basic nothing great at all. The atmosphere was ummm elderly. All the servers were at least 50+ years old which would not be a bad thing if they were a little more friendly.

  • John H.

Went last night with family. Had the chicken fried steak, it was pretty good! Hand-breaded, not out of a box, which is getting hard to find any more. Also, the vegetables were good, looking like they had actually been fresh before being cooked and not frozen. My younger son (the pickier of the two) had the spaghetti and ate it all. The older boy had the chicken nuggets and liked it, but he likes everything. The rest of the family all appeared to like their dinners. The rhubarb crisp for dessert was a big hit!

Great place for early breakfast. Then on to wingstop for lunch and/or dinner. Yummy!

hubby and i had chicken pot pies. excellent! the best we've every had. hubby asked for blackberry tart heated w/ice cream. he got the ice cream and whipped cream, even, but it was NOT heated. my bread budding was supposed to be warm/heated - the sauce was, but the bread pudding was not. lisa was our terrific and cheery server.

  • Beth T.

The food always looks amazing but in my opinion never tastes as good as it looks. I do like there crepes a lot and the wait staff is wonderful. It's definitely worth stopping in.

This is a Gresham GEM. It's like going back in time. Generous perfectly prepared portions. Here is a picture of my German Omelet. Staff was courteous and prompt as well

Monte Cristo sandwich good!! Celebrated my Grandma's 86th B-Day. They even brought her a little chocolate cake!!!!

  • Shon K.

This place was larger inside than I expected with quaint themed decorations and uniforms for the wait staff. Everyone was very friendly and sincere - smiles all around. I ordered the French Toast ala Orange, it was pretty good. Cooked to perfection so as not to be overdone or undercooked. The menu was pretty diverse, offering something for every taste be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. I will go here again, just not sure when as I do not live close to it. If you are in the area, give them a taste!

  • B L.

Eggs Benedict is so good with the thick slice of ham. Otherwise it's ordinary. Our server was very helpful and came back a few times to make sure we had everything we needed...

My fiancé and I come to Heidi's just about every other weekend for brunch. We always have great service and tasty food. We sit in the bar area and are usually served by Samantha and she knows what she's doing. She's very attentive to our table but not overbearing and always has a smile on her face. It's nice coming to a restaurant for comfort food and relaxation and to be waited on by a professional.

Today I am having the buttermilk pancakes. They are very good. They have German sausage that is also very good. The staff us very friendly and helpful.

  • Polly P.

Just went for dinner with my husband, it was terrible! I had a French dip, it seemed like the meat was just cheap pressed beef, I only ate 1/4 of the sandwich, the fries were good though. My husband ordered the Swiss steak, which he said wasn't very good, but he ate it anyway. We got in the car and we didn't even get out of the parking lot before he had severe stomach cramping. We have been there before for breakfast and it was okay, but never this bad before. The waitress was fine.

    (1)
  • Heather L.

Ew. I'm from the South - was looking for good gravy biscuits...this is NOT the place. I believe the biscuit to have been frozen...it came out shriveled and a little chewy. It seems to cater to the older crowd. I only gave 2 stars because my husband loved/loves his meal (that he always gets) - some sort of omelet. Won't go back...although, he thinks I should give it another chance.

    (2)
  • Senan D.

Food with different from you normal breakfast place. The food is a little over priced for me but if you are tired of the same old same old. Just make sure you go on a week day the weekend was insane.

    (4)
  • Roni S.

Wonderful Service and homey meals offered. We ate dinner and than breakfast the next morning since we stayed at the Best Western. Would eat here again.

I saw the outside of Heidis and expected some authentic German food and beer. What is it really just typical diner food that was not that great. With all the signs and pictures about their awesome bakery I tried an eclair, which was one of the worst I ever tasted. The food is basically bland and institutionalized. OK Staff, Bland Food, Looks are Deceiving

    (2)
  • Alena C.

I didn't know what to expect of Heidi's..I guess I still don't. I guess it's kind of like a German/swiss themed Elmers but cheaper. I ordered the fondue because it's just one of those items that I have to order if I see it. It wasn't terrible. Because I am a creature of habit, I ordered a reuben that the BF and I split. Blah, not good at all! Although I did like the side salad with a beet :) The service was really slow, but our server was really old....no coffee refill? Come on! Oh, and you can buy a postcard in the gift shop after you are done with your sad little meal. But the fondue was okay.

I used to pass them everyday when I was attending MHCC, but we've never eaten there. Hubby want to go to another buffet, off 82nd, but I wasn't in a mood, since I'm dressed in my best, I want to go to a restaurant and I'm craving for ANOTHER GERMAN dish! We were seated right away, in a dark center part of the room, but there's tables by the window where I'd rather be. For lunch, I don't want to snookie up with my hubby, I want to enjoy the light, and be able to read the menu. The waiter was very attentive to us, but the obnoxious crowd to our left, (thank God, they're leaving but they decided to linger on for the next 15 minutes, just being obnoxious, referring to one loud lady), actually we almost left, but the heat outside is not going to give us tantrum INSIDE. After they left, I applauded, but looking @ hubby as if I was telling him a story! LOL I'm not trying to be a control freak here, but hubby wanted to order American food, but we're here to taste a bit of Swiss style meal. So we did! My choice? Swiss Cabbage Rolls. Homemade with delicious combination of spices & lean ground beef. Baked in tomato sauce, plus 1 fresh hot roll - it should have been baked longer, I don't like pale breads! A choice of salad or soup. Soup when it's 90 degrees outside? No way! Mine was delicious, I really enjoyed it. Hubby's choice: German Sausage Dinner. Served with sauerkraut, hot German potato salad & a tossed green salad. Nice presentation. The potato salad a bit tangy, but he said excellent. Photos, on my profile. Nothing to complain about, but I'm making room for ice cream to go - from down the street. I couldn't get in their bathroom, I went to browse @ their gift shop, went back to use the bathroom, still someone's in there. They have 2 stalls, but the girls in there have been taking their sweet time! Not their fault. The restaurant need some improvement - I'm seeing plastic plants everywhere, cobwebs hanging where they have hanging decorations where we sat. Nuff said. UPDATE: Jan. 2014: Our group of 19 were back here for another luncheon. Hubby & I were late, and everyone were already ordering. But our waitress is something else! The first people that ordered, were served last, and she was confused about our orders, getting them backwards. The 1st lady waited 5 mins longer than any of us.

I stopped bu Heidi's because of the amazing outdoor decor. It just looked like a little Swedish farm mountain home in the middle of a business district. Which is what I'm sure they were going for :P Once in side it felt like a tourist destination with the gift shop and serving staff in Flowery light colored dresses. For a moment I thought I was at the Sound of Music eatery at some amusement park. It was delightful. Everyone there seemed to actually to be happy about working there and they all had a smile on their face. Now I gave them 3 stars for one main reason. $9 for a meatloaf sandwich is a great price if it comes on something other then store bought white bread with still cold cheese (that I had to pay extra for) and luke warm meatloaf. Tasted great for what it was. Meatloaf had flavor, albeit not very much, and the lettuce seemed very fresh. The meal came with the soup of the day (Calm Chowder) Which was made fresh. I know this because I happily waited an extra 5 min (Oh NO 5 min!!) for the soup. I recommend the soup. Just the right amount of creamy texture and salty goodness. Honestly I think my order might have been a fluke. Judging from the fact that on a Friday morning at 10am and it was packed I think I should have gone with a breakfast option instead., but the menu didn't specify any certain lunch, dinner, or breakfast times. Meatloaf just sounded good. Because if this is the norm here at Heidi's it would have been empty.

Went here for breakfast with my girlfriend, who told me she will go here a couple of times a month. It's very kitschy. That was my first impression. German influenced decor, a gift shop in the lobby, and a waterwheel thingie outside. I initially thought it was part of the Pony Soldier hotel, but it was not....it's just very nearby. Then when walking through, I was afraid I would get mobbed and kicked out for not meeting the age limit. Granted, it was 11 o'clock on a Friday, but the median age was 93, I think. Ha! I just thought it was funny, but this place definitely caters to the senior citizen set who want a place to relax that's quiet, has free refills on the coffee, with a pleasant environment. And I'm all for that. I'm also for the fact that they seem to run some pretty darn good specials. I got two pancakes, bacon, and eggs on the cheap, thanks to the special I saw on the sign outside. My girl got eggs, toast, and hash browns, also on special. The pancakes were pretty good, nice and light. The bacon was crisp and well done, and the eggs were as eggs should be. The price was good, the service was extremely friendly and quick (and they all wear little traditional-looking German frock dresses!), and the food was good. I enjoyed this place and would not hesitate to return for a nice, solid, traditional breakfast.

    I. LOVE. HEIDI'S! This is our Sunday morning secret. GOD they make a good breakfast! Coffee is excellent. Quality of the food is off the charts. Quantity is a-plenty, I've never left this place hungry! The staff is always friendly, despite the fact that the ladies are forced to wear RIDICULOUS costume for work. That would put me in a foul mood, but they all embrace it with ease. I'm glad I found this place, and my only regret that today is Tuesday, which means I'm 5 days away from getting to eat at Heidi's again!

Heidi's is so-so. My grandmother loves this place, so I end up eating here often when I'm in town visiting her. The service here is wonderful, everyone is very friendly but the food just isn't the greatest. There are a couple things on the menu that are really good (French onion soup, their pastries, club sandwich) but for the most part the food is just eh.

My husband and I lived here for several years and are here on vacation, no matter when, this place is wonderful! Best service, best food everytime! Thank you and the best new year!

I LOVE this place! My wife and I have brought our 2 kids here severe times and the food is always the same. Hot, fresh, and delicious. The service is awesome as well. Between the 4 of us we have thoroughly explored the menu and have not been disappointed once. I highly recommend the pressure fried chicken dinner. And do yourself a favor and try one of the many home made desserts they make. Just make sure you come with an empty stomach.

Not impressed. Went for the first and last time recently. Grumpy server. Watery coffee. Ok food. Small portions. The atmosphere is cute though.

Ok...my husband and I are meeting friends for breakfast here this morning. First restaurant meal of 2012! I will let you know when we get home...but I have high hopes, because everyone says they have great breakfast at Heidi's. So I'm giving them 5 stars for anticipation! Okkk..I'm staying with 5 stars! The. Food was great, I tried the Orange French toast, the bread was dipped in an egg/milk mix with orange added, then coated with crunched up corn flakes ...served sprinkled with powdered sugar and orange maple syrup...yumm! My friend had the regular French toast and it looked pretty great too! The guys had the typical eggs/bacon/hash brown breakfasts and I have to say their plates looked licked clean! But by far the best part of breakfast was Kendra the waitress! She is the kind of waitress you hope for at every restaurant....she remembered everything, was friendly, funny and truly efficient! I mean we can get good food lots of places but being made to feel so welcome Is great.....We're going back because of Kendra!

We've been here for breakfast many times over the past 6 years. Services are great and attentive. The food is good and consistent. I enjoy my Garden Omelet special with homemade blueberry muffin. They also have a Mon - Fri $5.95 special if you just need eggs, sausage and toast.

Best club sandwiches ever. The waitresses are extremely nice, as are the people at the cash register. I wasn't super impressed by the breakfast I got once, but the the food tastes good and the price is reasonable.

I go to Heidi's for one thing, happy hour. After 8 they have cheap beers and decent snacks. The one time I have had dinner there I got the BLT and it was pretty good. The bacon was crispy and the bread was toasted, just like a BLT should be. The happy hour menu has a number of things to choose from. Their nacho is good and even though it says it is for one person, it is enough for two. The servers are friendly, but sometimes you need to get their attention to get a refill. If you just want a place to get a cheap beer and watch some sports, Heidi's is the place to go.

This restaurant is so retro and cute. I think the best thing on their menu is the beef pot roast. They serve a large enough portion for two. It's just as good as my Mom's pot roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, salad, vegie and dessert. To-go gives me enough for a few days of lunches. Sweet folks too and cue little gift shop. It makes me miss the Heidi's that used to be on Hwy 26 on the way to Mt. Hood. Don't be surprised or put off by the older folks here. it means comfort food. Sigh.

I'm not a fan of breakfast here, but I do enjoy their pressure fried chicken. Mmmmm. Not many places you can get fried chicken on the menu anymore! They also offer prime rib, potato with all the trimmings and a soup or salad for $14.95 on Fri, Sat and Sun which is good. Bar is comfortable, drinks are ok, not great. Service is always friendly and attentive.

First time here. Service was excellent and the food was just as good! Order came out quickly! Had the steak supreme sandwich and it was excellent! The Oregon Marionberry tart ala mode was perfect! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

I was rather impressed! I didn't have high expectations, but I needed breakfast. The food was really good. My friend took a risk and ordered the crab eggs benedict. It had lost of crab and was really tasty. I loved that they cook their hashbrowns in what appears to be butter instead of gross oil. I'd definitely be back. The decor is a bit much/tacky, but kinda fun a the same time. A great greasy soon.

Giving Heidi's of Gresham just an A-Ok. Went there purely for the novelty of a place that appears to be "stuck in time". Any breakfast joint or restaurant that sells everything from mini wooden shoes to kuckoo clocks and those grandma tees & sweaters with glued-on gems on embroidered flowers/trees/hummingbirds is at least one try. The first thing I noticed is the place is BUSY on a Saturday morning. It's huge, so we didn't have to wait to be seated. Mostly filled with the geriatric set, and church groups, although there were a few single dads with their kids. The waitresses are good about keeping kids busy with crayons and coloring menus. The menu is pretty extensive and had a page of daily specials. It contained many of the breakfast classics you'd find at Original Pancake house; belgian waffle, a variety of pancakes and several omlettes to choose from. Prices ranged from $9.50-10.95 for a full breakfast. Most selections come with choice of toast or fresh baked muffin. I'd suggest their muffin which come warmed and with real butter and was really moist and fresh. Both the blueberry and bran were really good. They must do a whole grill top of hashbrowns at a time. They came in this strange plate length wedges of crispy on both sides/soft in the middle hashed browns. Everything was GOOD, we certainly cleaned our plates. I just can't say there was anything OUTSTANDING about the food. Neither my eggs nor my potatoes seemed to have been seasoned. There was plenty of other reasons to enjoy the experience and it wasn't the furniture. The seats were these pink banquette style chairs that are normally slip covered because they're so ugly. The crowd on the other hand is very colorful, and when's the last time you saw 70's touches like printed paper placemats and matching printed napkins, oldworld decor with plastic flowers coming out of everything, and a sea of waitresses dressed in Heidi outfits accompanied by oldschool Muzak. We did a quick browse through the giftshop on the way out. Can't imagine they sell many of their gewgaws. It's all pretty expensive and overpriced for windmills and salt and pepper sets. And it's nothing you can't find at most low end dimestores in an ethnic part of town or at those tacky candle shops at the mall. How often do you spend $44 dollars on a sweater from a gift shop that doesn't even have the establishments name on it? There were many signs on the shelves reminding you that if you break it, you've bought it.
