Brought my mother for a surprise Mother's Day late lunch with the family. All 14 of us were blown away by the delicious assortment of great food. Being there for the 1st I really didn't know the menu. I asked the owner to just pick out the appetizers for all of us. Everything they brought was just delicious. I highly recommend the Bluebird Dining Hall. My mother was absolutely delighted by the food, staff and just the whole experience. Thank you to everyone there.

The quality of the food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is cheerful and bright. The staff is friendly. Great small breakfast place. It didn't get a five just because there was not a "holy crap that's amazing" aspect, but it is definitely worth going to if in the area! We will come again.

The Mac and cheese was amazing! I also had some flank steak that was cooked to my liking and very tender. My husband got some fresh caught steelhead and said it was really good! We had several appetizers, the risotto bites were a hit. Prices are good. Drinks are a bit expensive, but I guess they are everywhere.

I've had breakfast here several times and it is GREAT. The Eggs Benedict and the baked pancakes are particularly good. So nice to have a great breakfast place in Gresham again. It would be nice though if it was possible to sub something in exchange for breakfast potatoes. I completely respect restaurants not wanting to do complicated substitutions but letting guests get something else that's already on the menu like a side salad with the Eggs Benedict would be awesome. A slight extra charge would be no problem. Just a thought but either way I'll keep coming back.

Mmmmm "The Special Please" Had a nice date night with my guy last night at this place. The board said "Fish & Chips" We said "YES" The server was great - she was very much attentive to our needs. The in-house tarter sauce was delish! We will for sure visit this place again. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather while watching the old car show on the corner.

A friend took us here to celebrate our recent nuptials. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was. We went at the perfect time to order from the happy hour menu. We had taco tacos (one was pulled pork, one was fried avocado) and they were so good. Also had the bacon mac and cheese, which was perfection and steak skewers. The fancy rum punch drink that I ordered was right on. Not too much alcohol to overpower it and not too little to keep from enjoying it. We finished off by sharing a chocolate torte dessert that was on top of delectable custard and topped with some killer rhubarb compote. YUM. I love the decor and the service was good. We didn't have the type of server who is breathing down your neck constantly-- he left us alone and continuously checked in. In my eyes, that is perfect. I can't wait to go back. It was that good! There was also wine tasting from a local winery, Leaning Star. On a whim, I gave it a try even though I am not a wine drinker. Delicious!

I had lunch this afternoon with a friend at BlueBird Dining Hall, it's a fairly new restaurant, and it is very good! They use fresh, local produce on their menu and it is delicious. They have a "farm to fork" mentality. If you are downtown for the Farmers Market on Saturdays this summer you should definitely give them a try, they are only a block away from the market on Main Street. I had the two egg breakfast with chicken apple sausage and roasted potatoes, the potatoes were mini red, white and blues and were delicious, breakfast also came with a big, flaky biscuit, butter and home made blackberry jam. My only critique... The coffee was OK, and that's about it... But I am kind of a snob when it comes to my coffee, life is too short to drink bad coffee! A good, strong French Roast would be great!

Yes! Another new local restaurant in Gresham that knocks it out of the park. We automatically felt comfortable as we walked in. They had warmed up the place so it felt more intimate/homey. It also was not noisy though some nice local jazz in the background would be ok too. We split a dinner and a salad between the two of us and it was just enough. They had local sea bass as one of their specials so we went with that and the smoked salmon salad. The chef back there made it not only look pretty but it tasted divine. We decided to get some of their focaccia bread. We ate all of it though I really don't think butter needs to be automatically brought since the bread seemed to have brushed oil on top. We asked what their desserts were and they sounded artful and downright yummy. I just wanted to hear about them. I'll save that for next round. They had a nice selection of wines and local beers. There were 2 red wines on the menu by the glass but unfortunately the red blend was out and they were substituting a zin which is really not the same thing. I was good with my Bees Knees special cocktail with my favorite Aviation local gin anyway. Yes! They have cocktails! Ask about their specials. There's also happy hour! Our server is also local and she's lived in the area for some time now. I love the fact that they are using local and fresh ingredients as that is so important these days to complete the dining experience. It helps us all and makes the food taste that much better!! We usually have to go to Portland for these type of places. Not anymore. Looking forward to more visits here! This is where happy little bluebirds fly after all..

Good food and very nice setting. The staff is welcoming. I had the Garden Eggs Benedict, with avocado and roasted tomatoes. The tomatoes along with the Hollandaise sauce make a pretty acid taste, but it was well balanced by the avocado. Most important, the portions are generous!

This place is awesome! The decor along with the family atmosphere is great! I got the catch of the day witch was Coho with orzo & Broccolini w/micro greens! It was so delicious. The best salmon I've ever had. Friendly atmosphere as well! I would definitely recommend to anyone!

I was blown away by this restaurant. Not only was the decor, ambiance and staff delightful and inviting, but the food was out of this world! We had soup, salad, entrées, and dessert and every single dish was more amazing than the last. I cannot praise this place enough. If you want local, delicious and reasonably priced in Gresham, THIS IS YOUR RESTURANT!!!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the open house for Gresham's newest and freshest restaurant, Bluebird dining hall. The set up:] Located right in the center of historic downtown Gresham is this brand new and beautiful restaurant. . upon entering you'll be greeted by lots of natural light via the large street facing windows. There's bar height seating along the main store front, plenty of 2 topper tables to piece together and fit larger parties, and a big and beautiful communal dinning table down the middle strip on the restaurant. I was pretty impressed with the interior; the industrial blue walls, floor to ceiling chalk board which highlights their local vendors, their beautiful spanish tile mosaic on their back bar really helps to add a home feeling, a feeling that is just unavailable in most of Portland's hippest restaurants where "exposed and unfinished" is the look. Bluebird Dining Hall is truly bringing a real dinning approach to all farm to fork lovers. The food:] The menu is centered around farm fresh items. While there I sampled their Arancini balls, beet goat cheese terrine, curried devil eggs, Ruby Jewel soft serve and cookie sandwiches and a few other items off the menu that left me stuffed. Everything sampled was absolutely delicious, I am sure Gresham has nothing already like this. Honorable mention:] there is plenty of free street parking nearby. BB D H offers enough dinning space for a few large and also perfect for just one. I can't wait to be back, if the soft opening was just a way to figure out kinks than I am absolutely sure I will be spending a lot of time in Gresham. This place already has it down to a T.

Very nice addition to the bleak Gresham food scene! Great service and very good locally sourced produce and meats! Give them a try! Highly recommended!

No disrespect to mcCrea's, but this is THE BEST breakfast place in Gresham!! Lisa is the manager of local cow AND Bluebird, and it shows!!! Service was excellent, very attentive without being obnoxious, you get these adorable tea plates with your coffee & condiments; which are served in little mason jars XD, and the food....*drool*! I had the chicken and waffles and the batter was just flakey & delicious, while the chicken inside was perfect, tender & just a little bit greasy, and the waffle was a big thick Belgian style thing. I would definitely recommend you try it out, spend the $, cause it's worth it!!

Opened up pretty recently (probably a few months ago), I decided to give this place a try since some of the other Yelp reviews gave it favorable stars. I am so glad that I did. You can't go wrong with a lot of the entrees and appetizers that they have here. Holy moly their mac and cheese with the bacon is delicious. SO, SO GOOD. I went twice - one for dinner and again for breakfast. Their dinner options are better than their breakfast, but I would not mind going to either. Definitely give this place a try!

My parents said they wanted to go out to dinner and try a new place in Gresham. Being the snobby Eastside Portlander that I am (apparently), I was open to it, but walking in with low expectations. This place is GREAT! From the decor to the menu, from the wait staff to the bartender, from the drinks to the dessert. We were impressed and excited about this new addition to Gresham's food scene. We ordered foccacia, brussel sprouts, steak and a pork chop. For dessert, we had the strawberry lavender/lemon thyme shortbread concoction. Everyone agreed that you should never go to Bluebird Dining and go without the focaccia. It was cheesy and salty and light and airy. Delicious! The steak and pork chop were really solid as well. Dessert knocked it out of the park for us. Having all of the herbs, citrus, and fruit was amazing and made us yearn for summer. We'll be back. Hands down!

Don't eat here. Why? Because I want it all to myself. Seriously, I am a huge fan of the farm to fork philosophy, and the best meals I've had in Oregon adhere to this fresh approach to dining. BlueBird is heaven in the 'Ham. For too long I've pined for a restaurant just like this. Rustic decor, simply elevated cuisine, friendly and attentive staff, good selection of adult beverages. We arrived in time for happy hour. We ran the gamut with risotto fritters (the star of our choices), the avocado toast that blew my taste buds out with it's surprising flavors, the potatas bravas, the mac and cheese that included bacon that was the highlight of the dish and steak skewers, which were a tad tough and tasteless but served with a delicious sauce. We also ordered the goat cheese appetizer, which was more marinara than goat cheese and a nice hazelnut panna cotta for dessert. The food was overall lovely, and I'm relieved to have a restaurant like this in our neck of the eastern woods.

Well worth the drive out to old town Gresham. Everything tastes great! My friend Dean is the breakfast chef, so I may be biased, but I know what a great cook he is!

Stopped in for Sunday brunch. The dining hall occupies a peer brunch place's old building. The decor and menu are top-shelf for down town Gresham. Professional wait staff; they were knowledgeable about their own menu as well as nearby restaurants. Ordered black coffee and the Pork Belly Hash with Veggie medley, Asparagus, and Scrambled Eggs. The coffee was ok for a diner but hardly justified the $3.50 sticker price. My entree was a satisfying portion. The vegetables were pan-seared, the scrambled eggs were a little under cooked, and the seasonings were under-stated *almost* to a fault. It was good overall, but left me disappointed paying out $17 altogether. I'll give them another chance next time I am in the area looking for brunch. I would encourage to get coffee down the street at Cafe Delirium before brunch if there's a wait.

What a bummer! They are closed until August for remodeling. Was so excited to finally try this place for dinner and dessert!

Let me start off by saying that we live in the neighborhood and will definitely come to this restaurant and recommend it to friends. They are new so hopefully they can see this as constructive criticism? :) Service...a six top was seated right before us, but still, it took a long time for our sever to even take our drink order. She was very nice, but didn't tell us about the specials or anything and we were disappointed when the table next to use received something we definitely would have considered. Food...Brussels and salad were very good. Excellent, really. Both of our steaks were overcooked, but they still tasted great. I ordered medium rare and there wasn't even a hint of pink in any of my meager portion of meat. I really considered it objectively, and the steak was small. Again, we will definitely be back, but there is still room for improvement.

My fiance and I have been waiting for a place like this to hit the Gresham scene... Normally if we want some good local eats its a trek down Hawthorne, Pacific crab Benedict with probably the best hollandaise ever, farm breakfast with chicken and apple sausage, baby roasted potatoes (little purple guys too) and a great biscuit with butter and fresh jam, not to mention the pork gravy to dip the taters in (got a side of it for the biscuit but the sweet jam and salty butter was an excellent pairing) great job Bluebird, we'll be back!!!

Our first visit at Blue Bird has us wanting to go right back! I had the steak dinner with asparagus & mashed potatoes. What I loved is the food was fantastic quality and the portion was perfect with just enough room for dessert. My family also ordered the bacon Mac & Cheese & the fresh pasta which was so light and fresh. I love a good pasta dish that tastes light. For dessert we ordered the angel food cake, chocolate torte and also the shortbread cookies. All were outstanding!!! My family loved everything so much that we were already talking about what we may order next time. The atmosphere was just as wonderful as the food!!! There is nothing like this in Gresham. So glad you are here!!!

Good food but portions are way too small. I had the steak and mashed potatoes with asparagus (steak was very good) and ate the whole thing in 5 min and was still hungry after. My wife got the hen and it was very dry. Waited 1 hour for the food after we were seated. I would not recommend this place nor will I be back. Sorry.

We have been here a few times and have thought it was just okay. The service isn't very good and the menu is a bit lacking but they are trying and we have wanted a place like this in Gresham, so we go. The last time we were there I bit into an egg that was clearly past it's time. This ruined the meal for me and I did not eat the rest of it. So, to make up for it they were going to make me a fresh egg (so you're saying mine wasn't fresh? Yeah, I knew that). When I told them I didn't want another egg and I didn't want the rest of my meal, which was not even half way eaten, they said they could give me a $5 refund. Now, I am not cheap. I like to frequent local businesses and I would like to see this one succeed. However, I feel this was a cheap move and we will not go back.

It's a pleasant surprise to see such good food appearing in Gresham. Nicholas (across the street) was the only decent place for quite a while, but Bluebird is giving them quite a bit of competition for "best place" in Gresham. Starter appetizer was the goat cheese, in an interesting tomato surround. Can't go wrong with goat cheese. My dining companion had the pear salad, and I had the corn/crab chowder and both were excellent. Main course: the pork chop. I am always a bit worried about pork chops - they have a bad history in the US from being measly little bits of meat with lots of bone. Not this one! Fantasticly large, well-cooked (I'm always a fan of well-cooked pork) and the grain base it was served on was a perfect addition. The other entree at the table was the roasted squash, which was also quite good and received high marks. Dessert was excellent: we ordered both the chocolate (cake?) with rhubarb topping, and I had the strawberry shortie. It's almost worth going just for the desserts, even though they only had three on offer. Service was excellent - on par with the best places I've been. I think the owners are trying hard to make good first impressions, and it shows. This is an excellent start, and I'm giving it four stars - I'll have to try it twice and get the same experience to give it five stars, but looks like they're on track! My only complaints are minor: the bread was a bit too toasted (burned a bit) and it is a bit loud - all wood reflecting the sound around - but that's about it. Not a bad punchlist for just being open a little while!

I was thrilled to finally find a restaurant fit for foodies in Gresham. We ate there last night and everything was exceptional. The beet salad was fabulous and both the fish specials were divine. I love the decor, very hip and the wait staff was wonderful. I am already planning the next opportunity to eat there.

Food is amazing. Both dinner and brunch provide tastes that Gresham sorely needed. Well done. My new favorite restaurant!
