Got in late, just wanted a cocktail and a bite. They did not disappoint.

The service was perfect and the food was incredible! We met with 3 other couples for a special celebration. My husband had the steak with peppercorn sauce. The portion was huge and I stole a taste of it and wished I had gotten that. Except my macadamia crusted halibut was SO good.- well there's only so much a person can eat and my husband was glad I didn't steal any more bites of his! Others have said in older reviews that the service was terrible and the food awful. I can only speak to my own experiences with Blondies, which have been several lunches - great food - and our celebration dinner with friends. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it is worth it. The quality and presentation were excellent. I'm a "foodie" and am selective about my praise of meals, but in this case, I'm so impressed with Blondies that I can't say enough! ( even though it looks like I've written a novelette already)! Oh, I can't forget to mention the desserts. I love coconut and their coconut cake is fabulous! I can't speak for what the others had. There's just so much room in a person's tummy and even I have my limits!

We were happy with their great selection of tasty food for omnivores and vegans in our party and the service seemed really fast.

Fresh food and well seasoned. It's kind of dark for lunch but has a great menu. Wish I had room for dessert, they looked amazing!

Delicious Cobb salad! Best drink and most unique in the city is the raspberry lemon drop!

Ok. On a VERY LONG ROAD TRIP I searched yelp for dinner ideas. I love you guys! When you have no clue turn to yelp. When in Grant 's Pass, Oregon you absolutely have to eat here. I'm vegan. Hubby is carnivore. You can have it all here. The absolute best food we can remember. The manager's name is Chase. He's crazy fun in all the best ways. I'm stuffed. Food coma ensues. But in a healthy happy way...

Okay, LOVEEE this place. The prices are a little steep, but honestly - they have great food and drinks so it's okay to spoil yourself every now and then ;) Their Habenero Passionfruit Martini is my absolute FAVORITE! I literally crave them every now and then because they're that good. Lol I've had a couple of their dishes, such as the lamb which was nummy! And their jalepeno poppers with raspberry sauce..YUM! The service is always super friendly, but always super packed. Definitely a place to go to with some girlfriends.

My first visit to Blondie's and my companion's second. I had the Thai chicken curry, she the "Yummy Bowl." The curry was good, but the portion felt small to me. My companion loved the Yummy Bowl, but the portion was so small that it was served on a salad plate, not a bowl at all. Our server (a young man) provided attentive and friendly service. We could not have been more pleased with his work. My companion raved over the coconut cake, but it didn't seem impressive to me. Still, if I were to order dessert, it wouldn't be cake, and if it WERE cake it wouldn't be coconut, so my eye for it may have been a bit jaundiced. If the entrees seemed too small, the slice of cake seemed too big. I felt the price ($37) for two lunch entrees, one dessert, coffee and tea was excessive. If the portions had felt more generous, perhaps I would have had more patience with the price. The good news is that, at least for us, the service was impeccable.

I really appreciate the ambiance and the service at Blondie's. They also have an extensive food menu with handcrafted cocktails. It's a great place for lunch, dinner, or just drinks.

Eaten here multiple times. The food is always quite good and the bar drinks are excellent. However, each time the service is slow. Sometimes VERY slow. If you don't have a lot of time or if you are very hungry, go elsewhere.

My husband and I eat here on a weekly basis. We are both vegan and appreciate their vegan options. There are two servers (Chase and Tony) who are spectacular regardless of the restaurant consistently being understaffed on busy weekends. While we do appreciate having a place to eat with vegan options we do NOT, however; like that although it says "VEGAN" on the menu, the portobello mushroom burger comes on a cheese crusted roll ! When brought to the attention of the servers we are told it is the owner who makes the bread and will not change it-- well then do NOT say vegan on your menu!!! Lastly, their signature Passionfruit habanero martini is to die for! 3 stars not 4 only because the menu inconsistency, a tad pricey and I think they need another server for better all around service on busy nights.

The place has a great vibe. Our food took awhile to get to us, but they made up for it by giving us a free appetizer. Our warier was very nice and took good care of us. We had two salads and both were delicious and good options for vegetarians. I recommend the salad with quinoa. I'll definitely go back.

Passion Fruit Habanero Martini rocked it! The dog sitting at a table outside with a plate in front of it not so much.

HI went to Blondie's last night for the first time in a long time, as I have been limited in terms of restaurants I can eat at since becoming a pescadarian. We arrived near the end of dinner rush, and asked to be seated by the bar so as not to take up a larger table for just my girlfriend and myself. We were seated and brought water and bread, which was all well and good until our server did not return for 20 minutes, whereupon he asked for our drink order. We declined, stating that water was sufficient, and he disappeared for another 15 minutes before returning to take our food order. I ordered the seared ahi appetizer and my girlfriend ordered tho coconut shrimp appetizer. Our server then asked if we would like more bread, which we said yes to, and then pressed us again to order drinks, which we again declined. Over the course of the next 20 minutes we were asked 4 more times by different employees (none of which was our server) if we would like anything else to drink, and we declined as we had before. When our food finally arrived we were asked again if we would like more bread, to which we again said yes. My girlfriend said her shrimp were fine, but my ahi was uniform in temperature, almost like it sat under a heat lamp while waiting for the order to be ready. I attempted to alert our server (or any of the 3 other employees who had "served" us thus far,) but they all seemed to disappear once we had our food. We finished our appetizers and were about to order our entrees when our server arrived with our check and told us to have a good night before scurrying away. I said to my girlfriend "Well I guess that's all we're getting here," and opened the bill to find that we had been charged for each "refill" on bread that we had been offered with no mention of the extra cost. Not wanting to create a problem I paid without complaint and we left. Still hungry but now running late to meet friends we headed off without stopping elsewhere for food, and about an hour later I became violently ill and remained that way (vomiting what I can only assume was bad fish,) for the rest of the night, and was almost forced to call into work today as a result. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, no pressure meal with no hidden charges. Also on their menu it states that ALL split checks will be charged an automatic 18% gratuity, so "going Dutch" is apparently discouraged here, in addition to the fact that this practice has been illegal in the state of Oregon since January. In closing i would like to state that If I could rate this restaurant "No Stars" I probably would.

Good food, very good people, and quite the comfortable atmosphere. We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Try th yummy bowl for lunch, its one of my favorites.

Food is average quality and somewhat overpriced for what it is. Service is average quality. Nothing stellar here, unless you like to drink. They do have cocktails. This restaurant is best for drinking only, not eating. There is nothing else you need to know.

Worst place to eat in Grants Pass by far. Stay away from this place at any cost, I'd rather eat gum off the parking lot outside. All of the food is frozen and not even the kind of frozen food that resembles food. The service was the worst I've had in a long time and there was really nothing nice i can say about any part of the experience. My wife and I can both honestly say that we absolutely hate this place. We got our own menu's after waiting for 10-15 minutes. After 10 more minutes the waitress took our order and that was the first and last time we saw her. The busser brought our drinks and "meal," we were the only customers so I'm not sure what the waitress was doing. My chicken was some tiny disgusting little frozen breast of rubber, my veggies were the serrated cut bits that everyone was scared to eat in the elementary school cafeteria and everything else was fake and tasteless as well. My wife had a caesar salad which until now I didn't know you could screw up. It was a rotten romaine heart that nobody even took the time to chop or even chop the gross dirty rotten bottom off of. With that small pile of croutons and a smear of terrible dressing on the plate. Real fancy guys Maybe you should start by learning how to cook (unfrozen) food before you try to get all food network on us

Food is ok. Service, typical of Grants Pass, is terrible. Went there for my daughters birthday lunch and told them we had 6 people and that threw them for a loop even though the restaurant was basically empty. We were told we would have to wait to order because there were 4 people ahead of us. We left and went to Gtanos and had a wonderful time. Don't go to Blondies.

Great food, very nice staff and upscale atmosphere without the pretense. Quick stop on the way thru town proved to be gem of a find!

What a perfect meal. Great food & service. The vegetable curry was made with just the right amount of seasonings & flavorful. Since we live locally, we will be back often!

Yummy! I had their black bean and quinoa salad. So good, I didn't feel like I was dieting. Splurged and had a martini. Bartender was really good, he was young but I can't remember his name. I'm going back very soon. In the survey I put not good for kids, food is good for kids but it is a small space and others might not appreciate children.

The service was nice, but I'm rating the food here sister!! Bland! Can you say microwaved!!! The server said they don't use microwaves, but I think they might! They should at least salt the veggies! I felt like I was in a old persons home with the hospital type food. (Mostly bland) The Mac and cheese with bacon and chicken was melted so much that it was just greasy! I expect there food to be better then mine at home and it was like frozen then heated under the warmers or microwave for so long it was scorching hot!! For how long it took took I expected it to be amazing!! Not so much at all!! Next time I'll take my money and cook my own food! Roux 26 down the street from there is a lot better! It seems like the same type of food and same price but is a lot tastier! So check them out! They are closed Mondays or I would have eaten there!!

Really? A year ago and prior, great place, good food, good service and decent prices. Now, not so much. Ate there tonight, probably won't go back again. Happy hour is not offered in the main part of the restaurant, only in the bar! Never heard of that before, but really didn't matter because happy hour at this place is a complete rip off. The happy hour drinks are $1.00 off the regular price and they fill the glass 2/3 full. You would get more for your money if you just paid the extra dollar and got the full drink. Happy hour appetizers? Another rip-off. The normal size coconut shrimp is 5 shrimp, the happy hour size is 3 shrimp. Basically, they sell you half the portion for half the price and consider this a discounted price. The quality of the food has gone down dramatically. I would prefer a subway sandwich meal over this place with the quality of service, the quality of food and the prices. Blondies does not impress me anymore and I will be eating my meals elsewhere. Sad, because at one point, they offered a nice atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices. Oh, and no matter the size of your party, if you want to split your check between two couples, they will automatically charge you an 18% gratuity. No thank you, you no longer have anything I am interested in.

I went here while house hunting. The menu is expansive and everything looked delicious. Unfortunately, I decided on the seared Ahi, which was just average (I've lived in Hawaii, so not fair for comparison) but the accoutrements and salad were wonderful. I will go back to try more things. It's all enticing and the atmosphere was elegant but welcoming. The deserts look phenomenal too!

After a few times there, I have determined that I have absolutely NO desire to go back. Drinks are tasty, but really weak and expensive. The service is not good. The food is only OK and overpriced for what you get.

Great place. Yeah it's in a strip all but you'd never realize it inside. Nice looking bar. Good service. Higher end place for Grants Pass.

I wanted to try this place and finally got the chance last week for a work lunch. Service was very good and quick (other reviewers were not so fortunate, it seems). I ordered the vegan hummus wrap with sweet potato fries. The fries were great. The wrap was just so-so because the hummus was incredibly bland. They need to ramp it up with some garlic, tahini and more lemon juice. The wrap also included avocado, red onions and greens that were all fresh and delicious. I will come back to Blondie's as their menu is extensive and there are many interesting offerings, including a Yumm bowl, a favorite of mine. They also very kindly break their menu down into "Healthy" and "Vegetarian" fare and there is quite a bit to choose from in both sections, along with full fat options too. The ambiance of Blondie's is very nice-- low lighting, warm colors on the walls and tables. It's probably a great night spot for drinks and dinners, so I will definitely be back!

Great food and prices. We don't have a huge amount of restaurants here but the ones we do have are very good.

Blondies has always been a good bet for us. I LOVE their Greek Sandwich with the dark bread, as in could order it every single time. We will always be back.

THIS PLACE SAVED ME FROM A DARK DESPAIR! I was in Grants Pass looking for a place to eat, the first two places I went to were closed down. I am vegan and cannot eat flour or sugar, so menus can be difficult. Not only did this place have tons of vegan options, everything I had was AMAZING. The menu is very diverse, and usually I wouldn't imagine I could find good curry in something called a bistro, but it was soo good! I had a house salad (all organic) with the citrus cilantro vinagrette which was so flavorful, and the produce was excellent. Then I had the red curry with tofu. The veggies were cooked perfectly, not mushy or overcooked like it can often be. I chose to have it with the brown coconut rice. Yum! And the tofu was an excellent fluffy texture. The curry was delicious, very flavorful! I eat a lot of thai food, and I was definitely prepared to be disappointed. But it was great. My sister had waffle cut french fries that were so DANK! They were hot out of the fryer. And she asked for them with a garlic aioli. Bomb. She also had a vegan hummus plate and some sesame honey tofu. The service was excellent - friendly, super helpful staff. The food came out quickly and the environment was nice. Definitely not what I would expect from the name and a place in that funky little mall! Thank you Blondies, I was so hungry and cranky. You were a savior!

Up until recently this restaurant was one of my favorites in Grants Pass, mainly because of their yummy crapes. But, my friend had a HORRIBLE experience and I trust her judgement...word of mouth in this town speaks volumes. This is what happened... She ordered two gift certificates from them. Both for $50. She gave them to her clients, one of them was blank (this was brought to light when one client tried to pay for his lovely date with his wife, and then had to pay out of pocket) My friend went to Blondie's SIX times to try to clear up matters. The wait staff was polite, but the manager and owner have NO customer service skills and were very selfish and rude to my sweet friend about the matter. Grants Pass avoid this place.

Like other reviewers, I've eaten at Blondies before and had a good experience. Not this time and a big part of it was our server. Passing thru grants Pass my husband and I had lunch. Place wasn't busy which seemed odd on Friday at 12:30. Should have taken that as a cue. I wanted the black sesame ahi entree but apparently that's only served after 4:30. I know I've had it for lunch here before. I had it as an appetizer. It was decent but not as good as previously. Fish was unevenly cut and a little tough. My husband Thai chicken curry was bland and should had more coconut milk and less rice. The seafood bisque soup was not a bisque at all. More like minestrone vegetable soup with a couple of pieces of fish. I felt we were brushed off and rushed off by our waitresses. We're weren't asked if we wanted dessert. She just brought the check at the end of the meal and that was that. Prices on their food is high for what you get. Not going back to Blondies.

It's always exciting to find a vegan friendly bar! Well, it's a restaurant but there is a full bar you can sit at. They had quite a few veg options which were all labeled accordingly. I had the portobello sandwich and it was SO good! Maybe the best I've had. Service was great too!

The main problem with Blondies is the service. It failed in nearly every way possible. When we came in we said we were in a hurry but the waitress waited to fire our entrees until she cleared our app plates, several minutes after we were finished with them. The place was empty, so no competition from other guests for her attention. One of our party was having a bad day and the server was pretty insensitive about trying to see how things were going while there was obviously hushed private conversation going on. And most damningly in my book, the server was completely ignorant about allergy issues. The menu lists certain items as gluten free and vegan, one of the main reasons we came to the place. She misidentified chow-mein noodles on a salad as "rice noodles"- we asked another server who confirmed they were wheat. If a place is going to bill itself as allergy friendly there needs to be some staff education to back it up. If you are allergic be careful and get a second opinion if you are unsure! I should say, the server was nice enough to make me a whiskey sour with egg white even though she'd never heard of that before. It wasn't perfect but A+ for the effort! This makes me willing to come back here and give the place a second shot, hopefully management will take some steps to turn those good intentions into good service... There was also a strong intermittent ammonia smell coming from the kitchen, possibly from the dish washer? It was unpleasant and distracted from the meal. Here is a blow by blow of our order: Green pepper corn steak and vegan tomato soup: Soup garnished with dried basil. Fairly chunk, tastes like dried tomatoes. Amazingly creamy flavored for a vegan soup, pleasant though. Steak served in cream sauce despite request for non dairy. Asked for cream free mashed potatoes, server brought them out and said "They just have cream cheese, is that OK?" I didn't want to wait any longer so I just went with it. The steak was larger than what I like, though I'm sure many people enjoy a large steak. Gf sweet potato (yam) fries, very good, crisp and light. GF cake was good, tasted like it had dairy in it.

Strike 6. I moved to Grants Pass from Ashland (foodie Paradise!) two years ago and have pretty much exhausted the limited dining options in this town. I wanted to like Blondie's, I really did. Their food is pretty good (though some items seem to be a rip off of the Mediterranean in the same complex?) and I like that they have gluten free and vegan options. And the decor is warm and inviting. But the service is just not worth it! I kept coming back, thinking they were having an "off" day or night but I'm finally over it. This is the place where Mean Girls deign to serve you, if and when they feel like it. This is Grants Pass, ladies! I went here for my birthday dinner with my two roommates - we ordered several cocktails, appetizers, entrees, dessert (gross creme brûlée but good flour less chocolate cake - a la mode :-)) and spent a ton of money but still managed to feel we were annoying the waitress with our requests. I had lunch here once (their yummy bowl is awesome!) and waited 15 minutes for the check, then had to track down the server to pay - and the place was nearly empty. This is a good place to go for cocktails only or a yummy bowl for lunch (they have a good martini menu!) but not if you're in a hurry or expect excellent service. If you're passing through GP and hungry, check out the Mediterranean, Circle J or Casablanca instead. (Or Taprock on a warm day and sit outside and enjoy the river.)

Anniversary date with my husband. We would go back, but never on a Friday or Saturday evening. Were told to seat ourselves but there were only tables for 4-6 set up. They found us a table for 2 but it needed to be bussed. Finally that sat us somewhere else. It was a good 10 minutes before we got a menu and water. Another 15 before someone took our order. My husband ordered the Cowboy Steak and it was tender and perfect. I ordered Seared Ahi. Soooo teeny. About the size of 2 of my fingers. Served with a dash (literally a teaspoon size) of soy sauce, 2 huge Tablespoons of Wasabi. We had to ask for the complimentary bread. It came with olive oil and garlic paste w/balsamic vinegar. Good, but very sloppy presentation. After dinner, we had to hunt someone down to pay for our meal. Their menu prices and selections suggest a higher class restaurant, but waiting so long to be waited on and seeing the 2 servers actually running from table to table, it was not classy.

I travel to Grants Pass quite often for work and my co-workers and I decided to try Blondies Bistro. The food was amazing, I had a turkey sandwich with feta and roasted red peppers that has this amazing parmesan encrusted bread. The service was awesome and they showed my boss and I all sorts of options from the menu. Erica was our waitress and we just loved everything about the place, the food, the service and the ambiance was great. I can't wait to get over there again and I know where I will be eating lunch often. Chuck

We really loved this restaurant and would highly recommend it if you are in Grants Pass. The food and cocktails were very good and the Coconut cake is to die for. I would have loved to have gotten the recipe for the Coconut cake. The service was great and the owner was really nice. We stayed at the Lodge at Riverside and they offered us a gift certificate to this restaurant or one other in our package. We were very happy that we chose this place. Made our evening. 10 out of 10!!!!

food is decent, but the portions are slight. the yummy bowl is good, but its only offered before dinner. i prefer this place for lunch rather than dinner when you can get a reasonable meal for what you spend. we ordered small dinner salads and vegetarian nachos on our last visit for a light meal, but the salads were meager handfulls of spring mix with a side of dressing for something like $6.00. i felt ripped off.... service is fine... maybe a little over bearing... i was eating my nachos, and the young guy who was clearing tables tried to clear my plate while i was still eating! it was almost funny!

Blondies is a beautiful restaurant and has a gorgeous bar. It's menu is eclectic, which means there is something for everyone, from hard-core carnivores to vegetarians, with flavors from the USA, and from Tuscany, India, and the Mediterranean. I LOVE that! I went to Blondies on the recommendation of a couple I met from the San Francisco Bay area, where I also live. They told me they had had lunch there driving through Oregon and the sandwiches they had were just outstanding. Great bar: My favorite drink is their house martini - passion fruit habanero. Yum, yum, yum . . . addictive. Head to Happy Hour for this one. The new bartender is great. Welcoming, great service, warm . . . he knows the wines and makes great drinks. I generally like to order appetizers and their appetizers are great. The Polenta with creamy mushroom sauce is to die for. No, it is not gushy cream-of wheat style, it is baked and then sliced and crispy on the edges, like toast. It has some peppers in the creamy mushroom sauce, and has some tang to it. Delicious! Their hummus is an eggplant hummus with a balsamic vinegar, instead of the usual chick pea (ala garbanzo bean) hummus. The house tomato basil soup is great. They make their own bread that is served with the soup, and it is yummy - homemade, great texture and great flavor. I bought two loaves to bring home. And they make their sandwiches with this bread. Every meat lover should be able to find his or her choice: from steaks, to filet, to salmon, to pork chops, to lamb, to chicken. We had the Comfort Crepe on our way out of town during brunch. The coffee was good, and the crepe was really good - spinach, cheese and the right touch of salt provided by the ham. We stopped at a little shop across the street, and the owner asked me if I had had the dessert crepes. I had to say no, and she raised her eyes in an expression of bliss and said that the banana crepes are just to die for. So yes, I recommend Blondies. Aside from the food, the environment is relaxing, charming, sophisticated and makes you feel at home.

First off i'd like to say that i am giving this establishment two stars because the food and atmosphere were the only good part of the entire evening. The service on the other hand, We would have given 0 stars if it were an option. Five friends and I were traveling up 1-5 from a reunion we had in Ashland, and we pulled off in grants pass for some dinner around 5:30. We searched all over downtown for a place to eat and nothing was open on a sunday evening, it was a ghost town. We came across "Blondies" and were pleasantly surprised with the set up, seemed like fine-ish dining, but still casual at the same time. The menu was really nice, everything sounded really delicious, well described, appealing all around. Our server was a little late to get our order, but nothing to complain about. Took all of our orders, and went to the POS system to enter them in. We got 3 apps (clams, crab cakes, and onion rings). takes about 10 minutes, totally okay timing. Another 20 minutes go by and the rest our food arrives, and timing is still okay. We are happy to see our dinner. He puts 5 plates down, and looks at the last one of us, confused, and looks at his ticket book and says "Oh, i didn't get your order because i had to go to another page to get the rest of your whole order, and i didnt see it. I guess I need to write smaller. Do you want me to............." My friend says "What? What are the options" We ask. "How long will it take to get her food?" He stands there like a dumbass for a minute speachless, and finally says "Uh.... maybe like ten minutes" At this point we are all cutting our food up to share with her because we have waited long enough and we have to get back on the road before dark, We dont have time and we just do with what we have, with no apologies. He brings an empty plate for her because we are all sharing our food with her, and says "coconut cake on the house" and immediatly turns and walks away. I stand up and follow him but he avoids me and goes to the back Two female servers approach me, and I tell them what happened, and that we don't want dessert, because we are short on time, but that we would appreciate some sort of comp otherwise, perhaps a $10 burger that we shared with the girl who didn't reiceve her meal in the first place. They said that was fine, and for me to sit down. Our server comes back and drops the check. Nothing comped, he overcharged us for a cup, cup mind you, of soup for 6 bucks. When i brought it to his attention, he acted oblivious, and once again, didn't say he was sorry, and took off the soup we never had and took 10 percent off of some entrees which came to about 5 bucks. Said no one there was authorized to comp things. No, they just couldn't own up to their shitty mistakes, and their poor service skills Guess what fucker, we all work in the service industry, and you suck!

I love the atmosphere of Blondie's (noisy, but nice)... and there is no doubt that their food is delicious... but definitely over-priced. They have an awesome Cuban Martini made with cilantro and citrus, but for the price and the atmosphere, I'd move next door to the Mediterranean.

My husband and I had two appetizers on the menu. We had the clams stuffed with Portuguese sausage and the Mediterranean platter. I thought there could have been more sausage added to the clam dish. The eggplant hummus that comes on the Mediterranean platter was excellent!! Servers were friendly and attentive!

If the food had been spectacular, I would have felt inclined to be more forgiving with regards to the service. It wasn't the hostess who seated us -- you were great, you really were, you sweet young thing -- but Lady Who Waited on us: are you there? It took a very long time to get attention to begin with. We'd long since pondered our options, been distracted with conversation, and circled back to decide on our food before we were even approached for a drink order. When the food arrived, we were then told that the soup for one of us was out. Really? You're going to wait until the rest of us have our food to say something? The Wait Lady then launched into a finger-pointing excuse about errors in their kitchen communication. Way to give us confidence in what we're about to eat, ma'am. Later -- I'm gonna say ohh, about two minutes later -- our hostess with the mostess brought out the soup. Evidently without the knowledge of Wait Lady, who came back some 10 minutes later, and with surprise exclaimed, "Oh, you have soup?!" It didn't get better. My co-eaters were fairly certain that Wait Lady was in fact the Owner Lady, which also upped the ante. In the middle, there was some awkward semi-hostile chit-chat about whether or not we really were as old as our IDs said we were, and at the end there was more awkwardness surrounding change and the tip. I understand that there may not be a million and one places to go in Grants Pass for a good brew-pub style meal, but there are undoubtedly enough that provide exactly the same kind of food and ambiance (there's even one just next door) to challenge this one step up the service.

I've been here 5+ times and LOVE this place! Consistently amazing food. My favorite is the vegetarian curry and then you add chicken. That way you get the loads and loads of fresh veggies cooked JUST right! It's a bit pricey eating here, but the food is really top notch.

Beautiful with delicious food and amazing cocktails. Certainly the best cocktails I've had in grants pass, comparable to some of my favorite cocktail bars.

5 stars for Grants Pass (maybe 4 if elsewhere)--we had despaired of finding anywhere other than fast food even open let alone with good food. Very easy to have a healthy and interesting meal. Recommend the middle eastern dishes like hummus with pita etc.

Awesome hole in the wall in GP! Both visits were amazing with great food, friendly staff, and rockin martinis. Their claim to fame mango habanero martini is absolutely perfect with its sweet and spicy sour mix. The grilled ham and cheese sandwich and homemade coconut cake was amaaaazing too ;) We would never have walked in this "hole in the stripmall" had it not been for the prior positive yelp reviews and local word of mouth.

I was visiting a friend in Cave Junction and she had heard positive things about the food and cocktails here. The food, and the cocktails, were fine. The decor screams OLIVE GARDEN circa 1992. My friend and I realized that if we had been twelve years old and dining here we would have thought it was a fancy restaurant. If you've ever eaten anywhere that has any idea about ambiance, you can instantly tell that the owners of Blondies are waaaaaay behind the times. I live in Portland, and if this was place opened anywhere in town besides Gresham, it would be laughed out of stock and closed down witin 6 months. We had four or five different servers helping our table, and the service felt like amature hour. I ordered a long island iced tea and waited 10 minutes to get it, despite it being a relatively slow dinner hour. I will say, the "Blondies Salad" was great, loaded with feta and candied pecans. We also ordered the chicken marsala with risotto, of which was tasty but was over-priced for what was probably a Tyson's chicken breast. They do not have a children's menu, so we had to order a $10 veggie burger for my friend's 4 year old. The bottom line is that the food is tasty, but the restaurant needs a total makeover. Get rid of the cheesy black tablecloths and the sponge-painted mural. The menu would make so much more sense if the decor and vibe was going for fun-casual and not fine dining. If they downplayed the atmosphere, it would accent the fancier aspects of the menu. i walk away with my Blondies experience feeling inspired to move up here and open a place of my own.

Updated 5/20/09 - I have knocked this place down 2 full stars. The last two times I have been there. we have had the same dizzy tall waitress. She pays little attention to what you order. Both times, I ordered the same Tuscan Turkey that I always order on Kamalata bread. Time before last, it came with sweet potato fries, which I did NOT order. I ordered regular fries. She apologized, and brought a basket of them several minutes later. Was there again yesterday, and ordered the same thing. You guessed it. Sweet potato fries were delivered again!! Also it was served on Ciabatta roll (that was stale). I said I always order this on Kamalata Olive bread, my fave. Her comment....."Oh we discontinued it because it didn't sell well......." Well, gee thanks for telling me in advance. There prices are not cheap. The service from the tall waitress (you can't miss her, as she is 6' tall plus), is abominable. And it never seems to get on track. No excuse for bad service time and time again. I never felt much like my business was appreciated there. This just adds icing to my thoughts. I will look elsewhere in GP for a good lunch place. I suggest you do too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A local merchant in town recommended this newer restaurant to us for lunch. WOW. This is really good for lunch. Ordered a Tuscan Turkey Sandwich on Kamalata bread. It was just awesome. Real turkey breast, on premise baked bread, tasty natural fries or choice of sweet potato fries or an asian slaw (not a fan of that). We have been back a couple of times, and everything we have tried has been wonderful. Great desserts too.

I was not that hopeful about finding a good vegetarian friendly place to eat in Grants Pass. Thank you Yelpers for pointing me in the right direction. The place is in a 70s looking strip mall, and really doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is quite nice though. On to the important stuff: the food!! This place has two menu pages devoted to healthy vegan and vegetarian fare. JACKPOT!! All of these dishes are very simple such as appetizers, salads and a few hot dishes, but simple and delicious was just what I was looking for! I selected the vegan paradise sampler. It was listed as an appetizer and contained black bean quinoa salad, traditional hummus, Brazilian-walnut-cilantro pate, field greens, carrot and celery sticks, julienne cucumber, tortilla chips, and flaxseed crackers. Plus, I ordered a side of tofu to go with it. When my plate arrived, it was huge! Normally, I am not fond of only getting cold food for my main meal; warm stuff fills me up and hits the spot a little better. However, in this case, I made the right choice. I loved the variety that this platter contained because I didn't feel deprived eating only cold food when there were so many different tastes and textures. More importantly, everything was delicious. Maybe a little too delicious because my friend kept reaching over and eating all my pate. The only thing that I wasn't a big fan of was my side of tofu. It had a very sweet, sesame teriyaki sauce on it, and I am fan of all things savory. Next time I plan on ordering it without the sauce because it was still cooked and presented nicely. That sauce just wasn't my thing. As for complaints about the service, GO EARLY!! When my friend and I arrived around 6pm, there were only two other tables. However, when we left about 7pm, the place was full. We had the tall female server that many people seem to complain about, but she was great!! Everything arrived perfectly and don't forget that good food takes a bit to prepare (this isn't the Olive Garden, people!!). Our wait was maybe 15 to 20 minutes tops. That's not too bad, but it was early-ish on a weekday evening. I highly recommend this place for vegan or vegetarian food. I loved it, and I can't wait to return next week!

If you have ever tried to find a nice place for dinner in Grants Pass at 8:30 on a Sunday night, you'll understand why were were thrilled to find one place open that didn't have paper place mats and crayons to keep the little ones occupied. After driving around for 20 minutes downtown, we decided to give Blondie's a go and we were very happy that we did! Our server (the tall female who was panned in another review here) was friendly and professional. OK, she did forget to bring the beer we ordered, but she apologized and took off 50% for the slight delay. Otherwise, the service was impeccable. For starters, we shared a salad of fresh field greens with basil vinagrette dressing. Very tasty. Served with freshly made pumpernickle bread, yum. My SO ordered the Gaucho steak with Argentinean salsa; the steak cut was not identified, but it was perfectly seasoned and cooked - tender and juicy as promised. A bargain for $17.00. I opted for the Steak Diane special. Now how can I explain to my kid that she is going to have to share her inheritance as I am going to try to adopt the chef who prepared it. The creamy mushroom sauce was to die for. The dish was perfection for a mere $19. Both steaks came with delicious mashed potatoes and crispy fresh mixed vegetables. The dessert menu is huge and decadent (all advertised as house-made) but our dinner portions were more than enough to fill us up. Next time, for sure. You should try this place!

This place blows my mind! I just ordered a burger today, and it was raw inside. After coming back to tell the waitress/cook, they're response was that it's a "medium" burger, and I needed to specify if I wanted it cooked differently. I laughed, told them that a "medium" burger has a huge risk of e. coli, and told them I need a cooked burger. This is all after last week I was in there and got my burger and it still had wax paper on the burger, after it'd been cooked! Watch out for this place, its run very poorly.

It was a rainy evening, on the way up through Oregon from California. We wound up at Blondie's bistro and so glad that we did. Great service, great food, reasonable prices. I was sort of shocked to find a great food experience while on the road. Started with the featured martini. A unique blend of passion fruit and habanero in a sugar-rimmed glass, with three vodka options. Went with kettle one and was impressed. Flavor complexity I would expect from a speak easy joint, sweet at first with a slow burn, but was left licking the the sugar off my lips at the end. Definite yes for next time. The complimentary bread was just ok, but the olive oil and balsamic with garlic paste was a nice touch. For dinner, we split the curried vegetables with brown rice, and the western painted-hills burger. The curried veggies were perfectly cooked, fresh veggies each cooked the right amount, and a mild curry. Brown rice was not sticky or mushy, well done. The western burger, made with a thin patty of great beef, was served on a crispy yet soft toasted bun. The blue cheese just melted blended well with a nicely done onion ring. You know those onion rings that actually bite through without difficulty and don't have the onion pull through. They got it right. And bacon that had just the right crispiness to add to the texture profile. A nice solid burger. And the criss-cut sweet potato fries were well done with light salt. The server was thorough, had descriptive and helpful suggestions, and made it a great experience. I'll be back.

Just passing through and this had a great review on tripadvisor.com . We missed Circle J Cafe so stopped here. Like the other reviews, the food was excellent and the service was horribly slow. Nachos-- 5 stars but they forgot to add our chicken. Double hamburger 5 stars. the kids raved about it. Mexican salad with a cilantro sauce 5 stars. Bread 3 stars. first batch was dry with no flavor, second batch was warm and tasted a bit better. The waitress noticed our chicken was missing when she set the food down...she probably should have checked before right? We got a bowl of unseasoned chicken on the side. It took forever for the food to come out. Not sure the time time but over 45 minutes. Feels like the problem is in their kitchen not in the servers. I'd go back for the nachos though.

The food is always pretty good but we had to wait for over an hour after we ordered to get out food.I have been in the food industry a long time and to me that is not acceptable.no managers came by.and no one offered any kind of comp.

Great food and fantastic service! Very impressed... really liked the hummus appetizer, had more flavor and was more creamy than other hummus... enjoyed my chicken marsala on a bed of white wine risotto - delicious! All of our entrees were well prepared and visually appetizing. I wouldn't mind heading back and trying the pork chops or one of the sandwiches.

They've never been particularly fast at Blondies and the place is full of hard surfaces along with an open kitchen, so there is definitely some noise. They've done a nice job of dolling up the setting but I wouldn't go here for a romantic meal. There are zero booths so a private conversation isn't likely but with the ambient noise it's a good place to meet for a casual rendezvous. The service is always very friendly and they won't give you the boot if you linger in long conversations with your friends. Haven't tried it yet but I hear the habanero martini is amazing. The chocolate hummingbird cake is decadent yet light.

We were looking forward to trying out the new place in town. The ambiance was inviting, the hostess was nice. Our waitress took a long time to acknowledge us, and it's wasn't a busy night by any means. When the waitress did finally come around and take our drink orders, she seemed confused & not quite sure of herself. When she brought our drinks, they were all wrong ~ ok, there were 5 of us ~ but we kept it pretty simple by ordering beer or wine, nothing challenging. So far, we were not impressed. We ordered our food and again, while taking our orders, she became quite confused and we had to repeat several times what we wanted. The food arrived, however, one person in our party had to wait another 10 minutes for their dish to arrive, leaving the rest of us feeling guilty for eating in front of him. The waitress came back and tried to tell us that our friend hadn't ordered anything. Why would he not order a dinner? That's what we were there for. Then she tried to blame it on the kitchen. She was quite rude about it, rather than being apologetic. We also had heard that she was related to the owners, or part owner, not really sure. But either way, we would go back if we knew we wouldn't have that same waitress again. The food was really good and we enjoyed our meals, so hats off to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately, this waitress kind of runied our experience and we would think twice before going back again.

I came here with my family looking for something new to try out in Grants Pass. You will probably spend 15-20 bucks a person, service is great, ambiance is very nice, somewhere you could take someone on a date. The have a great chocolate PB cake for dessert and a nice wine selection. If you are out in downtown looking for some chow besides popcorn at blind georges I would stop here. I had the gorgonzola salad which was done wonderfully, the other individuals in my party tried one of their warm sandwiches, and a steak. The sandwich (can't remember what it was exactually) was great, and the steak was more non-traditional but still tasted great. If I still lived in the area I would put Blondies on my monthly restaurant rotation.

The service is definitely a minus here. Friendly waiters, but the owner MUST stop rearranging furniture during working hours. Stupid and takes waiters' attention(by constantly requiring their help) away from customers -- NOT a good idea! Nonetheless, food was very good, so if I could give 3-1/2 stars, I would. Kung pao spaghetti was just okay. But the crispy polenta with mushroom cream sauce - spectacular! And the Indian spiced lamb chops were a steal at $13 - in the Bay Area they'd cost at least $22 or more. NOTE: went back for lunch next day. Lunch cook is definitely inferior to the dinner cook. Come here in the evenings and get a much better meal.

Recently spent two nights in Grants Pass, Oregon where we dined at this wonderful restaurant. Don't let their location fool you...this place is truly a hidden treasure "buried" in a little strip mall. The service was personable, friendly and attentive without being stuffy or overbearing. The Chicken Marsala was delicious and my husband said his Ahi was one of the best he's ever had. As something of a Lemon Drop connoisseur, I gave their Ginger Lemon Drop my highest rating of 5 and that's a score few Lemon Drops have ever received. We so enjoyed Blondie's that we returned their on our second night in town. Everything was just as excellent the second time around. Both nights we enjoyed sharing one of their homemade cakes for dessert - both the Hummingbird Cake and the Peanut Butter Chocolate Truffle Cake were moist and flavorful. If you are ever in Grans Pass, Oregon don't miss the opportunity to eat at Blondie's Bistro!

Service has been bad on almost all my 9 visits. Crepes are dependably good, but not dependably the same ingredients. I had tuna off of the new menu one evening and it was wonderful. Next time I went in for lunch (the following week), the tuna tasted and smelled like canned tuna. Horribly fishy! Couldn't eat it and sent it back. But, most of all, the service is consistently bad.

I had dinner here with family and it could not have taken longer. The drinks were good, but I didn't care for my entree. We were there for about 2 hours and most of it was spent waiting. Everyone else was waiting a long time as well. It was noisey and below adverage. Will not go back.

Ok. On a VERY LONG ROAD TRIP I searched yelp for dinner ideas. I love you guys! When you have no clue turn to yelp. When in Grant 's Pass, Oregon you absolutely have to eat here. I'm vegan.

Fresh food and well seasoned. It's kind of dark for lunch but has a great menu. Wish I had room for dessert, they looked amazing!

Food is average quality and somewhat overpriced for what it is. Service is average quality. Nothing stellar here, unless you like to drink. They do have cocktails. This restaurant is best for drinking only, not eating. There is nothing else you need to know.

Chuck

food is decent, but the portions are slight. the yummy bowl is good, but its only offered before dinner. i prefer this place for lunch rather than dinner when you can get a reasonable meal for what you spend. we ordered small dinner salads and vegetarian nachos on our last visit for a light meal, but the salads were meager handfulls of spring mix with a side of dressing for something like $6.00. i felt ripped off.... service is fine... maybe a little over bearing... i was eating my nachos, and the young guy who was clearing tables tried to clear my plate while i was still eating! it was almost funny!

After a few times there, I have determined that I have absolutely NO desire to go back. Drinks are tasty, but really weak and expensive. The service is not good. The food is only OK and overpriced for what you get.

    (3)
  • Amy A.
