Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We came back to try it again: Better food and better service than last month. In the meantime we tried the new competing restaurant and it wasn't as good as this. We can hope for the best...

We did not know restaurant switched hands. I was ready for great, wasn't. We figured it out. The restaurant we want is across the street now. Was a good deception. If food was the same I would be back. As is we will be across street.

YES! Finding good Mexican food always makes me grin. Finding the tasty stuff in nearby Gearhart makes me downright giddy! The atmosphere at El Trio Loco is traditional Americanized and looks like any other chain outlet. The bottomless basket of chips are heated and the chunky salsa very tasty with just the right amount of heat, tomatoes, fresh cilantro and diced onion. The obligatory on the rocks, limey, salt rimmed, house margarita was large and filled with a generous pour of tequila. When consumed, a second one is on the immediate horizon. The thick menu is like a multi volume book that includes a page of appetizers, combination plates and a children's section which allowed my picky eater grandkids to have no problem zeroing in on their favorites, cheese quesadilla or cheese enchilada. I enjoyed the chicken fajitas. A generous portion of white meat chicken chunks with onions, green and red peppers packed with a sizzle! Choice of flour or corn tortillas and side plated with the traditional rice, refried beans and small salad. Service is brisk and attentive, you never wait long for anything! When I needed additional corn tortillas, our server anticipated my request and already had them with her!

The spice is right The food is great! Coming back again For another plate! As Momma said, "They couldn't go wrong if they tried!" Ambience, decor, food, wait staff - all deserve five of five stars!

The food is good, our vegetarian daughter being impressed with the selection of veggies in the burrito. I had a shredded beef chimi, the wife had the polo version. We were both pleased with the food, hot, well spiced and plentiful. The place is well appointed, traditional Mexican decor and music. Service was prompt and attentive. The fresh chips and salsa were very good. We came here by accident and will be coming back one day I'm sure.

Good food, no complaints. Hot tortilla chips, good salsa. Good mole enchiladas. Will be back if we are in the area again, and are craving Mexican food.

We have eaten here twice, once in 2013 and 2015. The food was good and the service was good. Nice ambiance so I will recommend this place to those who want decent Mexican food while in the Seaside area.

Best restaurant in Gearhart! (: ALWAYS delicious and the drinks and music are great! Fast service, too. I always love to introduce friends to this place.

I have been eating at this Restaurant for years now. Closest to my favorite Authentic Mexican Restaurant as it can get... always get either a Carne Asada plate or Carne Asada Tacos. When I am in the mood for chicken it's either Pollo ala crema or enchiladas! Everything is so good at this place my husband's favorite place too. Can not forget about my sisters favorite Mole Sauce or Chile Relleno. Makes it such a nice place to eat too with nice music in the background and smiles on everybody's faces. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! El TrÃo Loco

We rolled into town about 6pm on a Friday night hungry and wanting Mexican food. We were quickly seated and ordered two margaritas while we waited for our entrees, which came before we finished our chips and salsa. The food was typical Mexican restaurant fair, nothing to write home about but the place had a good vibe and the waitress was timely and friendly. We would definitely go back!

I'm writing this review as I'm sitting at the restaurant. My family and I expected a delicious authentic Mexican dinner. This place wasn't anywhere near good. It was very disappointing. The service was shit, the waiter knew nothing about the ingredients of the food, nor how they tasted. Didn't care that we repeated at least ten times that we weren't satisfied and still charged $53.00 . We certainly didn't tip; the cashier couldn't even read the total. We asked if the nachos had onions he said no, then brought the entree out WITH onions on it, I mentioned it and they simply took it back and picked some of them off. And there was STILL onions. The chicken was dry, fries cold, the chimichanga tasted burnt and gross. You pay over $2.00 for a soft drink and get ONE refill. And, had to ask for boxes over 3 times. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant and will NEVER eat here again. Unprofessional and non enthusiastic employees, no management, poor service, and their like 12 - 14 year olds taking your order, and serving your food; but do not know a thing about the menu.

An excellent small Mexican restaurant with friendly service and great food. My wife had a combination plate which included a chili relleno, cheese enchilada, rice and beans, while I had crab enchiladas, with rice. Everything was delicious and we'll go back!

Sorry to say that we stopped for dinner and the place was just off. Service was bad. We stood at the door for almost 5 minutes before someone seated us. There was a party going on in the bar and that is where the attention was given. The person waiting tables in the dining area was oblivious as if he was conscripted by another family member to fill in. We had to beg for silverware, we had simple orders that took over 30 minutes to arrive. I had a taco salad that must have sat in the kitchen for at least half of that time.. The chicken was no longer warm, the lettuce was soggy, it was almost inedible. I couldn't wait to leave . We didn't get our check until my husband went to the cash counter and asked for it. We won't be back.

Definitely a disappointment. Not only was the service bad but the food didn't sit well in my stomach either. Headed here after a surf session and was very excited to try some Mexican food near the coast. Ordered the tacos al carbon (steak tacos with green sauce) came with rice and beans. The steak tasted a bit funny, almost had a liver taste to it. Also ordered a margarita, that was pretty tasty. My bf ordered a combo plater, one ground beef taco, an enchilada and a tostada. He said it was not bad but he was not blown away either. He also said he had a stomach ache after. Would I come back...no. I think I will continue to look elsewhere.

This was the first place I ate at after moving to Seaside. I was happy with the food & the service. I order food to go regularly & it is always good. The chips & salsa are tasty & the prices are reasonable.

My husband and I stopped here after walking the beach in the morning. Must have just opened, it was 11am. We wanted lunch though. Very nice lady checked on us 3 times to see if we were ready to order but the menu is so huge, it takes a while. We finally ordered a couple different combos each. The chips and salsa were excellent. Mowed down 2 bowls of that. The food was mediocre. Not sure why. Not bad, but just not "tastey"! Great service, good prices, nice decor, just really not feeling it on the food. It doesn't stand out, but neither does it fully satisfy. It didn't cause stomach upset like Mazatlan Restaurant, but Mazatlan TASTES better. What's up with that???
