Came to the area for a beach trip, and we were steered to this place. The building says "best fish and chips" and it's located right on the water. However, this was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. I'm usually not picky when it comes to seafood, but this tasted like fish sticks from a freezer. The fish had no flavor, and the breading was awful. I took two bites of one piece and was done. I was really disappointed.

Tried numerous times but they were closed. Finally connected and tried their famous fish and chips with another couple. Food was hot, OK....distracted by the fact we kept sticking to the table. Dread what the kitchen looks like.
(1)Josh C.
I guess when they say "chips" they mean chips, as in a bag of Lays. To-go charge to sit at their own outside tables. Most seafood not even local. Save yourself and go to the Dairy Queen across the street. It's exactly the same.

Mutliple choice. Between Tillamook and Astoria, this little town offers some opportunities to eat some seafood in funky maritime digs at the end of a pier, a long pier you drive down and which has a parking lot. Essentially, this is a seafood diner. Come with an empty stomach. I had the plentiful fish and chips, clam chowder, a huge piece of chocolate cake, and a cup of hot tea. Fish and chips is always fish and chips, and usually comes in at about 3 stars. At about this point, one is full. With the cake either already ordered or included in the deal, I slowly ate it. It was good. The lady who provided the service on that typical overcast fall Oregon Coast day was welcoming and friendly. I'd go back if in the area AND if really hungry, as in "stomach growling" hungry. If less hungry and need a snack to tide you over, there's a fish store with a counter where you can buy a small goblet styled shrimp cocktail, but you will have to ask where on the pier it is located, because it's hard to describe where it's located.

Trip advisor was right about the recommendation. . .I'm a fish n' chips nut, and and found these were some of the best I've had.
(4)Teasha M.
Took my children and mother to dinner. Overall good was great! I had they oyster and fish plate. Good portions as I brought over half home. Server was nice. We will be back.
(4)Julian C.
Fries are amazing. Chowder is really good. Clam strips are lip smackingly good. Oysters are nom. Shrimp out of this world. Basically, the best fried seafood I have had almost anywhere.
(5)Sean S.
Great selection of fried food. We tried three baskets: fish-n-chips, popcorn shrimp, and chicken tenders. We all liked the french fries and they serve a great tarter sauce. It's out on a peer so parking can be a bit tight when the weather is good but on a cooler and misty evening there were still open places just after 6pm. Around dinner time they can get quite busy, but my to go order was handled in a reasonable amount of time. If you don't mind go for the counter instead of getting a table, the entire time I was there they had at least one open seat and the turnover is fairly good because some of the people there are waiting for takeout and not a sit-down meal.

"On the dock next to the shrimp plant!" LOL...with a tag-line like that, you know it is fresh! We saw fisherman pulling in crab pots as we walked over as well. My fish and chips were actually a bit bland (others have said their fish and chips is awesome so I don't know what the deal was on this day but the fish had no flavor at all and the fries were soggy) - BUT they have some damn good coleslaw and The Hubs had the Crab & Shrimp Melt that was so delicious I'll settle on 3 stars. That sandwich was truly a bit of melty-seafood-heaven. It's basically a seafood diner, nothing fancy, and when we were there it didn't seem like they had air conditioning, either. There are only a handful of tables so we sat at the counter.

We heard from multiple people that this was the best fish and chips place, and a huge sign outside boasts that it is! So, we went in and tried it. Never again! We were so disappointed. We are regular customers at Bell Buoy in seaside, so that's always our comparison and this didn't even come close. I'm pretty easy to please, but don't waste your money here. Go up to seaside and go to bell buoy and you will be so much happier. We spent $16 on one meal here, which was a cod fish and chips basket, no drinks. We got 4 tiny pieces of fish (each about the size of a dorito and thin) that were battered in a panko-like breading and tasted like they had been previously frozen, fries (which I will admit were good), some dry coleslaw and tarter sauce that was more the consistency of ranch. Oh, also soggy garlic bread. I am just really disappointed and wish we would have spent our money at Bell Buoy instead, a much smaller business with friendlier people and better food. And cheaper! For twice as much food that is fresh and actually good, it would have cost us $10. But if you don't want to drive all the way to seaside, just go to the grocery store and buy a frozen box of fish sticks to make at home, because they'll be better than they were at Fishermans Korner and you'll be a lot happier.

Kind of a dive. The waitress was really nice but the food was so so. The coleslaw was a bit too wet for my liking. The rest of the food was pretty heavy and lacking flavor, which was surprising considering the seafood's supposedly fresh off the dock. The fish and chips left me underwhelmed. It tasted like something I could buy at the store to microwave at home. However the location is fun and the service and prices were great. (No kids menu!?)

All you can fish & chips and the clam chowder is awesome! The service was great and the atmosphere was very nice.

The fish and chips, Val's burger, grilled cheese, shrimp basket, are my favorite things to get here. The last time I stopped in for a bite I got the all you can eat fish n chips (halibut). Their tartar sauce was amazing, I think they make it themselves. Also if you can make it for breakfast, try their omelets, buttermilk pancakes, and homemade biscuits and gravy. You get a lot of good food for a decent price. The location of the restaurant is nice because it is located beside the water. The outside seating area was neat and convinient. If you are ever in the area I suggest you stop by for a quick and delicious bite. I will most definitely be back!

We had dinner there last weekend and were very disappointed. I'm pretty sure that the fish and chips was just Gordon's or Van Camp's frozen fish sticks (seriously, I am not joking here). The scallops weren't much better. The cole slaw was good, though -- and so was my son's grilled cheese. I love dives and holes in the wall, so this place really should have been in my wheelhouse, but it just....wasn't. I didn't feel welcome, folks weren't really friendly, and it didn't seem like anybody cared if I enjoyed my meal -- just that I hurried up, paid, and left.

$42.00 deep fried frozen fish and fresh clam strips,...and to be treated poorly with criminal disrepect!! Huge disappointment!!... I should have Known better, based upon the inside of the building. Drive a few miles south....Go to the Fish Pedddler, it's double the quality, you are treated with more respect, and more food for 2/3rds the price..
(1)Sonia C.
The fish and chips were great! We stopped by and got a takeout order and the fish was among the best I've ever had. Super fresh, flaky, meaty battered filets were fried while we waited. The fries were decent, but they were nowhere near as memorable as the fish. I'll be coming back for more fish & chips the next time I'm on the coast!
(4)Mandarin Y.
Food is okay. A bit on the bland side but at least the seafood is fresh. The decor is a bit outdated but service was good. What I liked best about this restaurant is the location along the marina.
(3)Graciela V.
Great food and service. We went there for breakfast. We ordered the chicken friend steak and eggs and toast. Both meals were delicious. Service was great. We went back for lunch. The fish and chips were great as was the Fishermans burger. We'd definitely go back.
(4)Amber H.
Food was excellent. Service was so-so because the "busgirl" was kind of impolite and seemed to be on crack. The lady I'm assuming who owns the place was very nice and attentive. The fish and chips were moist and crisp and the fries, which I believe were battered are amazingly fresh and crunchy. I and my husband had the burgers and I must say that for being all about the fish n chips, their burgers were juicy and lean...made with fresh patties! My toddler had the chicken strips which too were moist and crisp so good..and finally the clam chowder while creamy and thick, I would love to see more clams and maybe a few herbs thrown in but it was not lacking in flavor!
(4)Ryan F.
I have been coming here since I moved to the coast 2 years ago. The best spot for fish and chips in Tillamook county for sure. We usually come for breakfast these days, and it serves the absolute best breakfast fare of any of the Garibaldi options. Fast service, though the owner can be a bit short. Still highly recommended.
(5)Cody W.
The highlight, by far, was the chowder: creamy, thick, and served in generous portions at an excellent price. We also had cod fish & chips in combination with prawns and a broiled salmon. The fish/prawn breading was well-handled, hot and crisp. The prawns were very good, firm and bursting. The cod itself was dry, and the salmon was disappointing --dry and compacted. Both salmon and cod lacked flavor, as well. Frankly, these didn't seem market fresh. One of our pieces of fish had a small worm, and while we were given a replacement piece, I would've liked to see a more conciliatory attitude from the manager beyond, "Yeah, that happens sometimes. We can give you another." The prices outside the chowder are a little on the high side.
(2)Melissa J.
Food was great! My husband ordered the all you can eat fish and chips and I had the cheese burger. His fish was great! The breading was just right, not the soggy wet type the slips right off the fish. Cheese burger was fine, nothing amazing and fries were very good! Service was okay, pretty full and we good our meals in great time. Place isn't the most clean, sorta scuzzy looking.
(4)Dog Lover R.
Yum! We thought the food and service were fantastic. I had the Fish & Clam Strip Basket and my mom had the Clam Strip Basket. Clam Strips were like none I had ever had - big clams-lightly breaded. We are both stuffed. Cole Slaw was excellent. Fries were good-next time I would order a little more crisp. Fish was light, flakey, & flavorful. We are stuffed and each took a to-go box.
(5)Rachel K.
Clam chowder was good, got the fish & chips. Fish was nice and tender. Restaurant was clean and nicely located on the end of the dock
(4)Ashley S.
Best fish & chips around. Clam chowder was great and we had very fast and efficient service. Prices were average and the place was appropriately nautical themed, very quaint.
(4)Jake A.
Nothing to write home about. The service isn't great., actually it's quite slow and not very friendly. The food is okay. The fish and chips had little fish and too much chips and bread.
(2)Erik M.
Clam chowder very nice, so was the chicken noodle soup with big fresh noodles (supposedly homemade). Fish and chips okay, but not great. Shrimp sandwich not good at all, just a grilled cheese with a pile of the little shrimp. Nice folks, decent service. There is no real view here as I thought was advertised.
(3)Wanderin' J.
The location of this restaurant is right on the wharf at Garibaldi. It's a neat place to eat. That's why we stopped. Besides they had oyster stew. Two of us ordered oyster stew and the other two ordered their clam chowder. The two stars is because of the oyster stew. That was great. The clam chowder had clams in it but it was more like potato soup -- without the potatoes made from a flour water broth. It was pretty bad.
