    WORST DAIRY QUEEN EVER!!!!! After being in Florence for 3 months and going to this DQ almost daily, I've learned that they are ALWAYS out of chocolate ice cream by 6:00pm. I've even been told as much by the staff. (Seriously, if you KNOW you're always out of ice cream by 6pm, isn't it time to do some better planning?) Anyway, tonight my mom & went there (it was 7:30pm, so I had no hope of getting my usual chocolate cone), I asked to confirm they were out of chocolate, and, indeed, they were. So I ordered my runner-up item, a mint oreo Blizzard. When we got to the window, the rude kid handed me my Blizzard and rather than it's usual green color, it was white. So I asked "is this mint?" to which he replied, "yes". (I knew by looking at it that it was NOT). I pulled my car around to the front and parked, tasted the Blizzard and it DEFINITELY was NOT mint. So I went inside and handed it to the other rude kid and said, very politely, "excuse me? This is supposed to be a mint Oreo Blizzard and there's no mint in it. It's not even green". The guy freaked out and said, no, yelled, "I MADE IT MYSELF AND I PUT THE ALLOWE AMOUNT OF MINT IN IT! IF YOU WANT MORE YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!" I said, "I don't want MORE, I just want SOME!" He said "Like I just said, if you want more I'll have to charge you for it". I have had several mint Oreo Blizzards in my lifetime and I know the difference between mint and non-mint. I also know the difference between white and green. But there was no getting through to this guy, so I asked for the manager. Very cockily and with a cocky grin, he said "you're lookin at him". I said "you're the manager and this is how you treat your customers? I guess I'll call the owner tomorrow" he said "go ahead, I don't give a shit. And she won't either" (yes, he said shit). So I left with my (NON-mint) Oreo Blizzard and stirred it, hoping to maybe scrape up some of the "mint" that was supposedly in there. Instead, I had not just Oreos, but M&M's, pieces of Butterfinger & peanuts and who knows what else was in there. So I'm guessing they don't clean their machines very often. As I said before, I go to this DQ almost everyday. I've gotten used to the rude employees, the s-l-o-w service, the being-out-of-almost-everything, the burnt food, the STALE cones (they are ALWAYS stale)... but they're the only DQ for 100 miles and I guess there's really no good excuse. But after tonight, I will never, never, NEVER go back there again. EVER. I called the corporate office and was told they get more complaints about this particular Dairy Queen than any other in Oregon. I don't know why tonight was finally the last straw for me, but it was.

    Went through the drive through, the cashier was having difficulty hearing us due to feedback. So we requested to just come up to the window to place our order due to the issues with the equipment. We had the young lady clear our order so that we could start fresh. While we were making our order the cashier was called to the back. One of the other employees walked up to the window and shut it on us complaining that it was cold. The cashier came back and continued to take our order but was called back again. This time we heard someone yelling at her and being overly aggressive. We asked the cashier to get the person yelling at her so that we could talk to them. We were informed that it was one of the owners. When she came around the corner she didn't even acknowledge our existence and started filling up the bag. She then asked the cashier what else we ordered and that's when we let her know that we didn't want anything else, just to talk to her. We told her that the cashier was doing a great job trying to get our order placed, that's when she piped in with the fact that the order was cleared and started again. We then informed her that we had the order cleared, and that we heard her yelling at the cashier being very rude and disrespectful. She denied yelling, and we told her that we could hear everything she said. She basically called us liars, that's when we informed her that as much as we used to enjoy going there, we would rather give our money to just about anyone else but them. No employee should ever be treated like this one was, nor should any customer ever be spoken to the way we were. We live here, and take pride in our city but would NEVER treat another like we were treated. As far as the food, I won't say either good or bad. But the customer service is extremely poor. Funny part is, is that I had just gotten done with attending a Civil Rights Overview Seminar that afternoon.

    There are no words for how TERRIBLE my experience was at DQ last night. The last two times we've gone we've gotten terrible food. The services is always turn off your car slow but I'm willing to wait if the food is good. Well last night I went, waited 20 mins for my food, while I waited I watched the 3 kids working play around, shoving balloons in each other's faces and running around. I got home opened the chicken strips we got, to find 4 TINY pieces of chicken, nugget sized probably, that were completely over cooked. My burger buns were so soggy it fell apart taking it of. Soggy with grease nonetheless. And my bacon looked raw and was completely limp. So I called to complain about our food and I talked to one of the kids there and he said hold on and said to the manager/shift leader that someone wanted to talk to her and I heard her say who is it!? What'd they want!? And then got on the phone with me, I told her what I was upset with and she said 1st of all we don't control the size of the chicken ok? But I can give you credit for your burger, I said ok, and told her the kids at the drive thru were playing around, she then laughed and said well what do you want them to be doing!? I was caught of guard and I said working, she said um they were working! We were busy. It was just me in the drive thru and 1-2 people in the lobby who were already eating. I said I'm sorry but you weren't busy, I will call back and speak to the owner tomorrow because you are being rude and she said you're rude! And go ahead she won't care! I said well then I'll be calling headquarters because this is inexcusable and she laughed and said we don't have a headquarters. They do, because I called. I have never been yelled at by a manager before. I was shaking when I got off the phone. TERRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!!! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.

    Dairy Queen should be VERY PROUD of it's Florence,Oregon location. Cleanliness, Customer Service & Location, location, location!! This place has large windows to enjoy the gorgeous views of the Honeyman dunes. Having been a manager of my own store for many years; it was really refreshing to see a "fast food" restaurant put some serious elbow grease into their store. They didn't miss the smallest details. We were greeted immediately upon entering, all the table lamps were clear of dust, seats were clean with not tears or rips, the bathroom was fully stocked & clean. The fabulous girl at the counter (who's name I foolishly did not get) was awesome. Great personality, red hair, people person :) She was out on the floor cleaning tables and messes within 5-10 mins of our arrival. The store itself was just fantastic, plants in the lobby, ceiling fans to move the flowing ocean breeze. Not to mention the food & ice cream were PERFECT!! Thank you Dairy Queen for making our Mother's Day vacation a sweet one :D I'm not one to write a review on a "fast food" restaurant but, when you're doing it RIGHT, . . . EVERYONE should know!!

    How ridiculous that the dining highlight of our stay in Florence (thus far) is the local Dairy Queen. Now I am not ordinarily cuckoo for DQ, but this location is the cleanest and most patriotic I've ever seen. There are Uncle Sam's with flags lining the walls. The booths are comfortable and the large windows offer views of the Siuslaw River and sand dunes in Honeyman State Park. I wanted to do the local thing and go to BJ's, but their prices are quite high and sometimes a Blizzard hits the spot.

    You pretty much know what you are going to get at a DQ, but this one is laid out like a nice restaurant. Nicer than a lot of the restaurants in Florence. Great location, great view, and great food. Highly recommend.
