The frozen yogurt here is better quality than your average frozen yogurt chain. It's healthier and it tastes better. My personal favorite is the Dark Chocolate. So rich! So yummy!

We went to Vanilla Jill's tonight on the recommendation of a friend. Apparently it's been open for 6 months, just hiding back there behind the Chipotle. First impressions were good. The shop itself has a nice modern feel to it, and the Michael C. Hall lookalike (think Dexter) who served us was really friendly. Prices weren't bad considering the high quality of ingredients. Unfortunately, I can't really say anything positive about the taste of the actual froyo. I had a mud pie sundae, which was swirl yogurt with crumbled cookies and a few flavored sauces drizzled on top. Too many sauces, making the sundae very soupy and overpowering the rest of the ingredients. The espresso syrup in particular was very strong; I couldn't taste any other flavors. My lady had the mint chocolate shake, and boy was it minty. Mint syrup was added to the point that the shake was a little on the bitter side. We both regretted our respective menu choices, and agreed that the a cup of plain chocolate or vanilla would have been a better choice. We might give it a second chance to test that "plain" theory. If you've never been there, Jill's is probably worth your visit since most people seem to like what they're doing - so there is a decent chance you'll walk away happy. Just be sure to ask them to go easy on the syrups. EDIT: On reading the other reviews, it would seem that the frozen yogurt at Jill's is supposed to taste sour/tart? I'll bump them up to 3 stars since I can't really fault them for my misunderstanding of what they offer, but the other shortcomings in taste and texture keep me from giving them a 4 or 5.

O.M.G. the BEST frozen yogurt ever! I can't believe people waste their money on all those crappy "pay by the ounce" places that require you heap it with toppings in order for it to taste good. This yogurt needs no toppings - it's delicious all alone. Although toppings are available (for an additional charge) if that's your thing. The yogurt is made with Nancy's yogurt, so it's nice and tangy. They have vegan options (if that's your thing - it's not mine) and they have a good variety of flavors including a seasonal flavor that changes frequently. Their shakes are really good, but HUGE. Serving sizes on their yogurt are appropriate. They have take-out yogurt in a cold case if you're on the go and want to eat it later. They have a yogurt of the month club that I'd love to join, but I never remember to email the owner to join. Service has been really good - consistent. They staff is friendly. It's expensive, but well worth the local, natural, healthy price. Plus, they have a stamp card that earns you discounts towards future purchases.

Awesome good for you real yogurt. Not a huge variety but delicious and interesting flavors. Edit: I have to come back and say that this place has kept me coming back and now it is a real favorite. The kind I would seriously miss if I moved. It's the only desert place I know where I leave feeling healthier than when I came. It's just so REAL.

Yummy homemade vegan frozen yogurt made daily! Sounds good to me. The strawberry was great and you can taste real strawberry in it. I really liked the coconut lime creme though. It literally stole the show. Subtle coconut base with a hint of lime go so great together! A little on the spendy side. 3.50$ for a small cup of soft serve.
(4)Mary H.
Excellent, high quality yogurt made fresh! Their seasonals are always delicious and refreshing, definitely doesn't weigh you down. They have unique flavor options (like lavender, rose, basil, etc) giving you plenty of opportunity to try many flavor combination. I don't even consider this to be in the same league as self-serve yogurt places but so much more refined. These guys also give you a punch card where you work towards bigger free treats which I think is highly motivational to keep going back. Thy also serve waffles on the weekends and am hoping to try one soon!

I was actually shocked at my experience at your Coburg Road location this evening (5/22) because we have previously always had good customer service there. My fiancé and I came in around 850-855, but there were customers still ordering, so we didn't feel too bad about coming close to closing and we have been at this location previously, at times later than this and never had any problems. I guess your employee was eager to get home, because when I went to order a smoothie, she said that she had already washed the blender and put it in the sanitizer and would not be able to make me one. My fiancé and I were disappointed and walked out ordering nothing. To me, if your location is open, you should be able to make anything on your menu, barring that you have run out of ingredients. Your employee expressed that she was sorry, but if she was concerned with doing the right thing, she would have made the smoothie. I don't know if your business is in the position to lose 12 dollars of business on a rainy weeknight, if you are that's your prerogative. If you aren't, I would suggest retraining this employee about providing good customer service. Don't think we will be returning, which is really too bad, as you offer the best frozen yogurt in Eugene.

Another customer says it best when he describes Vanilla Jill's as a poorly executed version of Red Mango. Unique to Eugene, sure, but not nearly as good. Pros: - They use local ingredients when possible (reviewers: stop complaining about only using fresh, seasonal, local ingredients. They would have to serve no fruit whatsoever for 2/3 of the year. Even now in June there is nothing but a few overpriced strawberries at the Saturday market. Get real, hippies.) - They use Nancy's kefir, made right next door in Springfield. - Cute design - Friendly service - The brown rice topping is a cool choice (though mini rice cakes like Red Mango would've been even more delicious) Cons: - The yogurt is watery and as a result unnecessarily icy compared to something like Red Mango (major con, since that's their primary product!) - The frozen yogurt seems overpriced, even for something made locally. Seems like they're trying to recoup their startup costs too fast, but if they're selling enough nevertheless, then fair game to them! - I don't get the flavor syrups. I mean, coffee syrups? Those aren't so much syrups as flavored water. Lacks the viscosity I want in a sundae topping. Why water down the already watery yogurt? - Except for the brown rice, pretty boring and limited choices of toppings these days, especially if you consider the variety offered these days by other local places such as the Campus Sub Shop or that new place above Heron Bicycles. Overall: If Red Mango or something similar ever hits town in the future, Vanilla Jill's probably won't win the game. And if you're looking for local/seasonal ice cream: Red Wagon Creamery, a thousand times over!

Oh, this place is dangerously delicious. They have vegan options, paleo options, scoop ice cream and soft serve. I sampled a few flavors and each one was deliciouso, not terribly sweet or rich -- all around goodness. i have to say the peanut butter fro yo is better than actual peanut butter. whoa!
(5)Susan D.
Tasty stuff. Lots of options. But they got my order wrong which was disappointing. Had Canadian Couriers pick it up and from now on will have them call me to make sure it is right. I got a choc mud pie esothey didn't have the one with espresso as on the website. I also wanted a lime or something like that offering. Instead, I got another chocolate thing which I didn't want. Get it together people. That order was no complicated and I can't believe you did that. In fact, I have half a mind to ask for a free serving of what I wanted to make it right.

Vanilla Jill's seriously rocks my frozen desert related world! If you are expecting a typical froyo shop you will undoubtedly be dissatisfied though. This is not a place for McDonald eating types. It is geared toward a crunchy hippie Eugenie demographic. The sour flavor of the plain frozen yogurt that so many folks are hating on is just what plain yogurt tastes like. It's a bacteria culture, it's gonna taste funky compared to the propolyn glycol riddled foods most Americans scarf down. If you enjoy real food and diverse interesting flavors you will enjoy your desert.
(5)Jess T.
I still l love their product, but two things worth noting: The last two times we've gotten vegan flavors my very lactose intolerant husband has gotten pretty sick from it and I suspect contamination from the machine or something. We probably won't go again together:( Also, we made a trip out to the cart on 24th at sundance and it was sunny and warm, but no one was manning the cart, waited 5 minutes and no one came. This was prime after dinner 6ish on a hot Saturday. Aggravating.
(3)Jared M.
I just had a FANTASTIC chocolate and banana waffle here! The frozen yogurt is awesome and I just found out how amazing a waffle can be created (sourdough strain that is made the same way it used to be before corn was fed to everything.) Everything is easily digested as they don't use undigested white flour and any of the milk used in the yogurts comes from grassfed cows (no dextrose in this yogurt!) If you are on the paleo diet, you really need to check this place out, and if not they have some incredible things to check out anyways! The person working behind the counter just let me know about their sandwiches and soups as well :-) Yum!! All of this comes from organic and local ingredients, which I fully support. Needless to say, I'm very happy a friend recommended this spot to me, and I'm excited to check out their other spots!!

We are visiting Eugene and decided to take the family out for frozen treats so turned to yelp. The location off coburg is tucked behind the main stores. The first impression for us is a strong smell of sitting beer since there is a refill station right when you walk in. The options are limited and topping are few. The quality of the yoghurt was solid but the amount given to you in a small vs a medium seems to be mostly in cup size vs quantity. There was only one person working and line was long and slow and in top of that the swipe pos was down so cashier had to type in everyone full name and credit card for each customer. She would also go from handling cash to grabbing cones without washing. We will try it again next time we are in town before naming a final decision but much room for improvement.
(2)Bailey F.
AMAZING! Their seasonal carrot cinnamon flavor is delicious. It's nice to have a froyo place that is a little healthier than the others. And great customer service!
(5)Jennifer W.
I found Vanilla Jill's while visiting Eugene, on a search for bone broth! I bought some broth, then had some soup and paleo ice cream. It was all so delicious and exactly what I was looking for. I felt like the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality of what I was getting.
(5)Caitlin W.
Why did I not know about this place sooner????? After a night of food and drinks with my friends we decided we wanted some fro yo. I was a little hesitant because I am lactose intolerant but decided I wanted some anyway. To my surprise Vanilla Jill's had tons of vegan options. I was super excited! I have had a lot of lactose free froyos before but none compared to this. It had the same consistency as regular frozen yogurt. I had the vegan espresso and vegan pumpkin in a cone. YUMMM, such a good combination. The best part about it, I got all the pleasure of eating frozen yogurt but without the stomach ache after. The girl who worked there was super friendly and helpful and let my friends and I try all the flavors since we have never been there before. By the way the mini is not mini! It is huge. I couldn't imagine getting any other size because that would just be to much fro yo. I will definitely be back!!!
(5)Andrew D.
I hate writing negative reviews.. but the two stars capture my experience here. The service was good, but the froyo was... terrible. I got the regular plain tart with no toppings because I just wanted to try the froyo plain. But maybe if I had gotten some toppings it would have masked the terrible taste. The froyo was super icy, and had the weirdest taste ever. I literally took two bites and threw mine away. My friend got a mint chocolate chip shake, which she enjoyed just because she is obsessed with all things mint. But I tried it and thought it was crazy sweet. So much potential in this place, the decorations are nice, but the froyo (their product) is definitely lacking. Hopefully they refine their recipe soon.
(2)Jackson L.
2 stars even though I didnt like it at all, service was meh. I guese I am more of a dickie yos and yogurt extremer...
(2)Jay P.
I went here because of the good reviews but I just wasn't impressed. I ordered a small turtle sundae with vanilla bean yogurt. First the yogurt did not even have a hint of vanilla and just tasted like a really tart plain yogurt. The dark chocolate was just too bitter and the caramel sauce was just a runny mess. Only was able to have two spoons before I had to throw it away. Also the price is a bit ridiculous. $4.50 for a small sundae. For that I was hoping for really good stuff. Also even after the two spoons I ate I started to get a bad feeling in my stomach. To eat here you have to have an acquired taste for this place, which I haven't and won't acquire. I definitely won't be going back.

I LOVE VANILLA JILL'S! It is always a treat to come here for frozen yogurt. Their espresso flavor is amazing; I like it with maple syrup and walnuts. One time, I ordered their limited edition raspberry rhubarb flavor - also amazing! Hands down the best frozen yogurt in Eugene, although it DEFINITELY isn't your typical frozen yogurt shop. It isn't self-serve and it is a healthier option, definitely catered toward people who enjoy vegan/vegetarian/health food. Vanilla Jill's is definitely for foodies, though. Anyone who enjoys trying something new, unique, and different will enjoy their time here.
(5)Darron H.
We were sooooo excited about Vanilla Jill's when we saw that they offered gluten free and paleo choices. But, when we walked in, things started to go downhill. The young woman behind the counter was less than helpful, she seemed annoyed that we were asking questions. They were out of a number of different types of yogurt, completely out of draft Kombucha, and this was headed into the weekend. There were no prices anywhere that we saw, and everything was extremely expensive. When we took our 8 items, 2 packages of frozen waffles, 2 soups, 2 frozen yogurts and 2 bottles of Kombucha, the price was $64!! We were not offered a receipt, but luckily I knew to add my email to the iPad that was used to charge my card. When we got home, I found that one package of 6 waffles was $21!!!!!! Had we seen the prices listed, we would have NEVER paid that, it seems a little ridiculous. Vanilla Jill's had so much potential, they offer things that no one else does. But they ruined everything by being so completely overpriced and unhelpful. We will not be going back.
(1)Bonnie N.
True to my first review, I stop at vanilla Jill's anytime I can...any trip north, and I'll take a detour just to get my fix! I love the not-too-sweet, but not-too-tart balance they achieve, and the seasonal flavors are always stellar. I love that I can finally let my kids order anything they want, without thinking about GMO's, preservatives, artificial colors, etc. It's ALL organic, all good for the body. Local toppings, in season. My six year old has been consistently ordering the dark chocolate since we started going...even after being warned the first time that it is pretty intense. But I give my kids super dark chocolate at home too, so they're used to that flavor. The fro yo is actually local, organic KEFIR, which is so cool. And healthy. I think if you typically stop at McDonald's and other crappy chains, then maybe this would be a bit intense for you. But, if you value quality food, and appreciate what VJ's is doing, you will also fall in love with this place, as I have.
(5)Nate S.
OK, so I am not qualified to talk too much of the place's food, but I felt compelled to leave a comment because this is the only place in recent memory where poor atmosphere caused me to leave-- literally in pain. Quickly, I came in today to sip from their Kombucha drafts. It was very good, and the service was great. They have wi-fi, so I sat down to do some work. Here is where I was in pain. As other people began to walk in and sit, the metal chairs on the concrete floor would SCREECH ridiculously loudly. I do not typically notice things like this, and I do not think that I am particularly sensitive to noises, but I had to leave because my ears were hurting, and I was almost verbally reacting to the sudden noises. PLEASE find other chairs, or perhaps put something on the bottom of the legs!
(3)Sara S.
I know I said if you want froyo that looks and tastes like icecream, don't come here. HOWEVER, if you're talking normal "hard" icecream (not soft serve) they generally have a couple flavors of sorbet and/or froyo that fits that bill. Also, the other location (in the Whitaker district) had, when I last visited, at least 7 flavors of hard 'icecream' (some were nut-based). Anyway, thought I should point that out. Oh, and they have kombucha on tap!!!
(4)Meghan P.
WOW! That is all I can say. Just WOW! AMAZING!! Best frozen yogurt ever. I would go to Eugene just for this yogurt. Phenomenal. I had the vanilla bean with yellow cake which was to die for. Just the perfect blend of tart and sweet. I also tried the coconut lime with white chocolate sauce my boyfriend ordered which was UNBELIEVABLE! I don't even like coconut and I loved this. They have a really cute story too. I also love that they use different ingredients and cultures which are great for your tummy! If you are in Eugene, don't pass this place up. One Word- SUPERFANTASTICALLYAMAZINGLYDELICIOUS. I realize that should be more than one word but this place is so good they should have a word made for them.
(5)Parker T.
Yogurt was probably the best! But I am a toppings person, their selection of toppings, not so good.
(3)Erin K.
In the land where all other places use Yo-Cream as their base and throw candy on top to cover the flavor, VJ's yogurt speaks all for itself. Fresh, natural, with flavors that are unrivaled quality and taste. Keep up the great work.
(5)Billy B.
What a fabulous place is Vanilla Jill's! Great environment, pleasantly hidden away behind Chipotle off of Coburg Road in Eugene, Vanilla Jill's is a great neighborhood find. The fresh frozen yoghurt is delicious, affordable, and they are sensitive to many dietary restrictions, making this a must-do for anyone with a sweet tooth who has food allergies. But even if that's not you, the tangy froyo with kiwi, or the choc with strawberry, either will ring your bell. Go!
(5)Stuart P.
I like what they're doing. Make it yourself, keep it fresh, keep it local. Keep it up, and weather the storm of Old Country Buffet yogurt shops.
(4)Aricha S.
Healthy AND tasty. They make many unique flavors and revitalizing combinations such as my favorite, the kombucha float. I wish that I had the money to go every day!
(5)Mika W.
The best frozen yogurt (and waffles) that I have ever had! I am so surprised to hear that anyone had a less than delicious experience here. The only thing I can imagine is that perhaps people are only accustomed to eating much more processed foods. To me, everything is fresh and tastes real - real yogurt taste, fruit, etc. It is a bit expensive, but I can say that, living in Portland now, self-serve places here that serve stuff laden with fillers and corn syrup seem to run just as expensive. In fact, I have been surprised and bummed that I have not found anything that even comes close to Vanilla Jill's. Eugene is so lucky to have a place that uses organic and local ingredients, and offers natural sugar free options - you can't find that many places, especially that taste this good.
(5)kellie g.
Fantastic find hidden away behind Chipotle! Nice staff and super cute. Dairy options are of the tart fro-yo variety but a good variety that is updated regularly, and lots of seasonal flavors. Love the non- dairy coconut-lime creme! Also tried the pumpkin and chai which were yummy.
(5)Emily R.
This place is amazing! I never realized until I went to Vanilla Jill"s that all the other frozen yogurt I had ever eaten was made from a factory mix. They make theirs in the shop with organic ingredients that are locally sourced (as much as possible). It tastes "yogurty", not like most frozen yogurts which are hard to distinguish from soft serve ice cream. Their sundae combos are inventive and yummy. This is a great new fun stop in Eugene.
(5)Tara W.
YUMMMYY!!! I love the Vanilla Bean yogurt..I probably get that every time I go (alongside another flavor of course!) Fresh fruit toppings seal the deal. I'm more of a simple gal when it comes to my frozen yogurt, but if you like the sundaes and mixtures, they have plenty of combinations to choose from. It's definitely not close to our home, but worth the drive!
(5)Lindsey A.
I love that they use local ingredients when possible and make their yogurt in house. The plain vanilla is great on its own and the smoothies are addicting. Very family friendly, so expect short people when you go. Prices are reasonable for the portions. There isn't a lot of seating, so if you go in a big group, you may want to get your yo to go.
(4)Anne R.
I am crazy in love with this place. Said adoration borders on a dangerous obsession. My BF & I stumbled upon Vanilla Jill's a few months ago, following dinner @ Cafe 440. I admit, I was originally drawn in by the super cute font used for the storefront sign, rather than by the idea of frozen yogurt itself. For me, the overwhelming majority of frozen yogurt is a sad, sorry excuse for imitation ice cream... the jig is up, fro yo, you're not fooling anyone. Especially not me. Almost immediately after entering, though, I was positively thrilled to learn that this particular gem of a (legit) frozen yogurt shop offers tart fro yo, which is one of my most favorite things in the culinary world (crazy that real frozen yogurt tastes just like its name implies... frozen. yogurt.). I love the Original Tart because it's deeeeelish, not because it's (virtually) fat-free & sugar-free (made with xylitol, not an aspartame-containing sweetener), although those dietary facts certainly aren't unwelcome. I love it on its own, or with the lavender syrup or fresh berries as a topping. Yum-my. The BF is a huge fan of the Vanilla Bean fro yo, and usually opts for no topping. I'm anxiously anticipating the Blueberry flavor that's so raved about, and have always enjoyed sampling the other seasonal flavors that Vanilla Jill's offers. In addition to the fab product, the woman who's always behind the counter when we drop by (I think she's the owner, Vanilla Jill's sister [assuming I read the story on the wall correctly]) is incredibly friendly & helpful, and never gives us the dreaded small store owner's Evil Eye if we enter around closing time (they always close at '9 PMish', per the sign in the window). She so obviously stands behind what she's created, and thoroughly enjoys sharing that creation with her customers. Keep on creatin', Vanilla Jill's (sister), and I'll keep on enjoyin'.
(5)Louise W.
Yummy apple pie ala mode frozen yogurt is fabulous!!!
(4)Truth B.
I'm hooked on the Tea Garden. It's about $1 more than you'd expect to pay for ice cream, but you'll feel refreshed instead of guilty.
(4)Lee W.
Seriously overrated. Big time. Lebron of the frozen yogurt game.
(2)Ballet Fantastique B.
Vanilla Jill's is great! We love their unique and creative flavors! Such friendly people and the yogurt is always so delicious -- such a treat for everyone!
(5)Ann Z.
Yuck !! Isn't a treat supposed to taste good?? And it was soooo expensive....
(1)Richie P.
There is no other place in the area with yogurt like Vanilla Jill's, it is healthy and tastes amazing. This is a place that I can tell anyone to try and know they will enjoy it.
(5)Jason H.
This is one of my absolute favorite places in Eugene. Some of the best frozen yogurt I've had. There are a million frozen yogurt places out there, and this one really stands out. It's obvious that they make everything fresh. Both the regular yogurt (made with kefir) and the vegan options (made with almond or coconut milk, and maybe others) are excellent. All the favors are good, but the espresso is one of my favorites. The coconut-lime is also really good. The seasonal flavors are consistently good too. They don't have tons of toppings like other places do, but they have really interesting syrups (lavender, rose, blackberry), and some of their specials sound really good. Definitely give this place a shot!
(5)Maret S.
We love Vanilla Jills. It's not for everyone though. It's very real, pure, tangy healthy yogurt. People who like junky stuff often aren't big Vanilla Jill's fans. Anyway, the staff are friendly and chill. I love their lemon seasonal flavor with lavender syrup.
(5)Sierra N.
BEST YOGURT IN TOWN. Made with Nancy's Yogurt. They even make their own whipped cream, and no.. I don't just mean "they hand whip it" I mean, THEY FLAVOR IT. The basil whipped cream was my favorite. My favorite sundae I ever made there was Strawberry yogurt with rose syrup topped with fresh blueberries & basil whipped cream! TWAS FABULOUS. GO THERE NOW. COME ON......... GO! :) Super kid friendly too. They even have a little set of chairs with a mini table for your kids! Soooo cute :) Oh yah my second favorite thing to make with their yogurt is a Holy Donut Ice Cream Sandwich, buy a Holy Donut from the Kiva (or MOC, or ECC.. where ever) and cut it in half and put some VJs in the middle. AAA-MAAAZING
(5)Dawn C.
Let's talk taste. The first time I visited VJ's, I had to go back for seconds of their blueberry yogurt and fresh-from-the-market Oregon strawberries. I'm pretty sure there's not a better summer treat out there. But what about other flavors and toppings? Especially in the fall? Well, a couple of weeks ago I did the chocolate and hazelnut thing and I thought it was pretty perfect, too. I'm not a fan of the syrups, just don't get 'em. However, a lot of my friends find the syrups wonderful and the owners certainly put together some delightful-sounding combos with them. And then the ingredient? Well, I'm pretty sure all the yogurt is Nancy's kefir. At least, that's been confirmed on each of my visits. The fruit is all from the farmer's market, and from Trader Joe's if all the market stuff runs out. You can tell from the immaculate, yet small, kitchen that everything really is made in small batches. Well, you can tell that from the taste, too. Not sure I get the bandwagon dogging about the "dressed-up, low-brow foods," or the "all or nothing" on the local ingredient. I hate to burst your bubble, folks, but it'd be pretty hard to have any kind of food business if everything had to be grown in Eugene. What can I say? A lot of people want blueberries in December. Shoot--even Sundance brings up some of Chile's produce come mid-winter. I tried for three weeks to be above the influence, but even I caved (I ate all those blueberries in the parking lot, too). Where I give big props to Vanilla Jill's is that they have always been able to tell me where their food comes from. So, if I decide I want local marionberries instead of CA strawberries it's my choice. I appreciate that.
(4)Zach M.
This place has an idea of what frozen yogurt should be. Quality ingredients combined with creative recipes. I'm sold. When I go for a place to eat, I don't like the idea of sorting through ingredients until I come up with a combination of things that might taste good. That's if I'm lucky. A dining establishment should offer dishes prepared by a chef who knows what he is doing. I think I know what's best for me, but usually it ends up tasting like crap. Frozen yogurt should be no different. Not that I care, but they have a lot of options for people with dietary restrictions. That's pretty cool for frozen yogurt.
(5)Emily S.
Strawberry fro yo, Dagoba chocolate sauce, yellow cake and house made basil syrup. Enough said. I don't have a sweet tooth, so a five star review for frozen yogurt is out of character. However, the product is so unique, so fresh and tart, so local, that I can totally dig it. Their sundae selections are really inventive, and you just have to take their word on it. But I'm going back next time for a simple bowl of the chocolate fro yo. Try it, you'll like it!
(5)Jo J.
Horrible frozen yogurt! I took my kids there and they couldn't eat more than 2 bites. Save your money and go elsewhere!
(1)Winona R.
I'm a FAN of froyo. I'm an even bigger fan of places like this, that really do it right. They make their own base, have plenty of good toppings to choose from, and have sweet & helpful employees, one of whom helped me as I muddled through choosing a flavor (they all sounded yummy!). I had the dark chocolate frozen yogurt, which was tangy and rich, and also the caramelized banana (I think?) which tasted like actual bananas, rather than that artificial banana taste I have found in frozen yogurt before. As she handed over our (to go) froyo, the nice employee said, somewhat apologetically "it usually looks more beautiful than this, sorry!" but it looked pretty damn good to me. Yum.
(5)Dan H.
A welcome addition to a somewhat stagnant frozen dessert scene in Eugene. While the concept may not be new, they are currently the only place making the effort to serve this product here. So, my rating represents consistently good flavor, friendly and energetic staff, and a variety of menu options. Last month's flavor of blueberry lavender shake was superb! A great dessert choice after chow at Cafe' 440!
(4)Eric L.
Yeah, this place is dank. Definately had the strawberry fro yo, chocolate sauce, yellow cake and basil syrup. Seriously delicious. I've also had the chocolate fro-yo with fresh strawberries. I'm not a sweet tooth, so I really appreciate the tartness of their product! Go! Go now! Get that fro yo, yo.
(5)Theron R.
My wife and I went here last week for the first time, and it was a pretty good experience. The only vegan item they had was a coconut-lime frozen yogurt, but it was pretty good with strawberries. I don't have much by way of comparison since we don't go to fro yogurt or ice cream places regularly, but the prices seemed a bit high especially with all topping extra. The small was plenty big, though, so that's something. The staff seemed friendly, and were helpful to us as first-time customers. The environment was light-filled and clean, but the tables and chairs indoors are oddly short. Anyway, we'll be back with kids in tow now that we've scoped it out. Perhaps there will be more to report on next time.
(4)Flora H.
Fabulous product - but the service at the cart on Hilyard and 24th is insanely slow. The server is very sweet but she took 15 minutes to make three smoothies!
(3)Korbi K.
Hidden behind Chipotle, Vanilla Jill's is truly a treasure. I have to stop on my way home from the gym, and despite my sweat-drenched appearance, (complimented by an over-sized jersey and flipflops) I've always received a warm welcome and excellent customer service. Knock-your-socks-off vegan flavors (they have non-vegan as well) made from cashews, and a variety of candyesque and fruit toppings (including vegan chocolate chips, huzzah!). So creamy it's almost a crime to classify this as "frozen yogurt", and such a decadent taste. Flavors I've tried: coconut cream pie, espresso, dark chocolate (tastes like a truffle) and peanut butter (more like peanut butter cookie)--I still can't pick a favorite. Unfortunately, it is a little pricy (especially the Vanilla Jill's pints that tempt me at Market of Choice) but you get what you pay for. When my mom flies up to visit, this is one of our must-go-to destinations because she is an avid fro-yo connoisseur. Obviously I'm going to show off only the best of what Eugene has to offer, and this is one of those places.

Am I the only one who finds this place just a little TOO family-friendly? Every time I go there, it's absolutely FULL of kids running around, making a lot of noise, and generally not being parented by their eco-conscious parents. But at least it tastes better than Sweety's in Springfield, where they scream at you "WELCOME TO SWEETY'S -- THE SWEETEST PLACE IN TOWN!"

I adore this place! I never liked frozen yogurt before I tried this place. I didn't realize that all of it is made from mixes (most likely with corn syrup and the like). Vanilla Jill's frozen yogurt tastes completely different - it is light, refreshing and has a wonderful tartness. This is because it's made from fresh Nancy's kefir, which has tons of probiotics. I've also tried their vegan soft serve which is made with coconut and is also delicious, though I love the tartness of the yogurt. My favorite flavor so far is orange creamsicle, though they are all good, and I love their ABJ's - a multi-grain waffle with vanilla frozen yogurt, raw almond butter and fresh made blackberry or apricot jam, folded over like a PB&J sandwich. It's delicious, and quite frankly, a bargain for $5.25. I love how their dessert items are not too sweet, and I love the variety of different fresh toppings. Their berry compote that they offered over the holidays was so good that we bought some to take home! My only regret is that they don't let you buy gallons or half gallons to take home, only pints, because I go through that much of it now. For those complaining that they don't have all local or all organic, I just don't agree. They are offering a huge percentage of their items, as many as possible, organically and locally. I'm sure there are going to be times of year when it is just not possible (or cost-prohibitive) to have certain things, and I'm ok with that. It shouldn't be an all or nothing. I'm convinced that the owners are conscientious and offering a unique product with wonderful values. And I'm not sure if the average person appreciates how reasonable their pricing already is given the quality of the ingredients (raw almond butter, for ex, isn't cheap). Anyway, count me a fan. I am thrilled to see these guys busy and hope it stays that way!

I'm in love with this yogurt!!! So much so I just wrote about it on my blog!! Tim, the owner - Jill's brother, is super nice. The blueberry yogurt with lavender syrup is seriously mouth watering. Our friend actually went back for a third cup to split between the two of them. I'm pretty convinced this is going to be a weekly summer stop for me. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because they are so new they are still working out the customer service kinks. We got charged for a medium when we really had a small because there were 2 large groups in there at the same time and we had to wait to pay. The teenage girls helping out were very sweet just not totally streamlined yet in their service. I can't wait to go back!

This is the best frozen yogurt I've ever tasted. Their tart flavor is especially delicious, and safe for diabetics, as I understand. They use all fresh produce and ingredients, and have an amazing, weird, and delicious assortment of syrups. They lavender, for example, is amazing. So tasty, good location, great staff.

2.5 Every time I go here, I like it a little bit less and am a little more grossed out by the somewhat bizarre taste of the frozen yogurt. The good: they use some really unusual ingredients (read others on here or go there yourself for more detail) in order to create a frozen yogurt that doesn't contain regular sugar and is diabetic-friendly. If I was diabetic, this would be a five-star place just for that. But I'm not. Also good: The house special sundae options have a good amount of variety and you save significantly versus if you ordered the same things a la cart. Not so good: As mentioned above, the taste of the frozen yogurt itself leaves a lot to be desired. I always appreciate when businesses use ingredient substitutions for different "conscious" reasons, but in the end the taste needs to be just as good, and Vanilla Jill's fails on this front. Strangely, I didn't notice this the first couple of times I went here, but once I noticed it, it's all I can think about when I have it. I'm sorry I don't have better language to describe the taste, I'm sticking with "bizarre." Three stars because overall it feels like a good business and, if you have never been there before, I'd recommend you gave it at least one try before devoting your entire frozen yogurt budget line-item to Yogurt Extreme.

This place is awesome. Healthy delicious yogurt creations that don't make you feel guilty about eating them (not that ANY food makes me feel guilty...). It' s a great place to take the kiddos, too! Bonus: The owner looks like Dexter.

Very good frozen yogurt. They have quality ingredients and nice fresh toppings. Their syrups are yummy too. They only have 2 or 3 vegan flavors though which is understandable but I wish they would have more. I like to get their coffee flavored vegan frozen yogurt. It's nice and creamy and I like to pair it with their vegan chocolate chips and shredded coconut. I don't like their lime flavored one very much. It's not bad but it's not my favorite. I just tried their new vegan hard scoop that is caramel pear i don't think it's their to stay but if you catch it in time or it comes back around i paired that with chocolate chips and their blackberry syrup and it was amazing! This place is very nice, bright, happy and fun. Their frozen yogurt is very good and also better for you then most frozen yogurt. This is what frozen yogurt is all about.

Very cute place, kind of out of the way, if you like deserts that are healthy, organic and delicious go here. Just know that you are going to pay for the organic part. I had fantastic service here, and I'm gonna head back soon for a second helping.

I had their special frozen yogurt flavor at the Carts and a Cold One event the other day. OMG. It was so good I had to skip the other foods and used three of my precious food tickets for their special. It was grapefruit frozen yogurt with homemade marshmallow cream. I don't like marshmallows. But I stole my husband's and put it on mine. I NEVER buy citrus flavor fro-yo. But I had to have three servings of it -- yes, it was THAT good. If they serve that yogurt, I will be going there every day when the temp is above 70. It was just perfect!
