Atmosphere is great. If you're looking for a happy hour to go to for some good drinks, Le Bar is a good place to go. However, I personally did not enjoy the food. We ordered the leek and anchovy toast, French fries (you could tell they weren't homemade, and I would expect them to be at a restaurant like this, but rather frozen) and the steamed mussels in a broth, which we were so excited about!! The toast was okay, but really really oily. On top of the oil from the roasted leeks and anchovies, they put olive oil as a garnish in addition. The mussels were honestly just bad. Not only did the mussels taste really fishy, but the broth was made of a star anise infused liquor whose licorice flavor completely overpowered the dish and made fishiness of the mussels even more pronounced--two very strong flavors competing against each other! I never return food, ever, but the dish was truly unpalatable in my opinion. We then ordered the crab cakes, which came with a bland slaw covered in mayo, and a mini micro green salad with julienned apples dressed in a light lemony vinaigrette. The crab cakes were OKAY but I could've definitely gone without them. The entire time I was just begging for some fresh flavors to cut through the greasiness of the crab cakes (as well as the toast), even if it was a lemon wedge on the side. They could definitely go without the slaw since the crab cakes came with an aioli anyways, and just add more greens, preferably arugula, to give the dish some more flavor. Overall, the food was just meh. The flavors were bland and one-dimensional, and although the concepts were there, the flavors of the dishes cuisine did not capture the flavors of a true French cuisine. Honestly, the French fries were probably the best thing we had, but then again you can't mess up French fries. Now to the service: I guess the whole French theme extends to their service as well? Because our waiter had a very arrogant, stuck up air about him that my mom and I did not appreciate. He wasn't very warm with us and it felt as if he didn't truly care about giving us a good experience. At the end of our meal, he brought us dessert menus and literally tossed the menus in front of us as opposed to just placing them on our table. That really rubbed us the wrong way. Overall, I think this place is truly overrated and all for show. Luckily, we had ordered a bottle of champagne to ourselves, making the overall experience a little better than it would've been. It made the experience easier to laugh at...or maybe we were laughing because the super coooool bartender spilled the entire drink from his shaker all over himself, to which an older gentleman at the bar responded "well, that was impressive". Haha. I'm willing to try the place out again for dinner , but I'm not as anxious to as I was before I had this experience.

Everyone knows Marche is amazing, but the real sleeper is Le Bar, where brunch/lunch prices are competitive with other local spots, while the quality is the same excellence of the more expensive Marche dining area. Don't forget to ask for some of their dank ass bread. If you eat late at night, sometimes you can leave with a complimentary loaf.

Some friends took us here and spoke of a legendary blue cheese burger. Massive in size, juicy, cheese, soft bun. Sounded great. Well they changed there menu. The burger now if half the size, still juicy, has some pickles on it. I could tell our friends were disappointed. So we cut the meal short and went to another place for drinks. Which was unfortunate cause the atmosphere was really killer here. Easily the best part of the experience. The other reason for the low star ratting was the service. Really just sloppy and awkward. I hate feeling as if I have interrupted someone's busy day by sitting at your table. Then the long awkward looks of "did you just ask me for that, here at this classy restaurante'" yeah I did, I like ranch on french fries instead ketchup. It's fries and a burger don't hold your nose up at me. With the amount of options in Eugene I don't know when or if I'll have another chance to try here again. But I'm not to beat up about it.

The success of Le Bar seems to have a lot to do with the bar manager. He is responsible for the ever changing drink menu, and upholds a level of customer service that you rarely experience in Eugene. Not only are the drinks and food fresh and delicious, but the atmoshphere and service make the lounge feel completely inviting. This has become my new favorite bar in Eugene!

You know, Le Bar really needs its own Yelp page. I get it, Marché nearly runs 5th Street: Provisions, Le Bar, Marché itself...but each space is unique, with its own offerings, quirks, and bennies. I think Le Bar was a very smart choice for the owners. It offers a more hip setting, smaller plates, and intimate atmosphere, with the same high-quality, locavorian sensibility as its parent restaurant. In addition to the nightlife here, I also find it to be an incredible lunch spot. They offer soup/salad combos, unique specials, and great service -- much less stuffy than the main restaurant across the aisle*. If you've not been, it's a definite must-stop. Again, you'll have the same French-American greatness, but with less fuss and a smaller pricetag. *edit 12/23/13 a person can also choose from the Marche main menu due to the shared kitchen.

My favorite bar in town. Don't go there if you want to get trashed, but if you want to go somewhere with a relaxing atmosphere, knowledgeable bartender and good food, come here. The bartender knew how to make a Vesper and even put it in the deep champagne goblet where it belongs, not in a martini glass. They have a great selection of liquor and wine. They have a pretty small menu, i'm sure Marché has more options but I didn't go in there. Food-wise I enjoyed the pork bellie lettuce tomato sandwich. It came with house made chips and a green salad with a light vinaigrette. The sandwich was well prepared on a chibatta loaf. The pork was cooked to perfection and the sandwich was very enjoyable. The atmosphere was very good. It was quiet enough to enjoy a conversation with a companion and the bartender on occasion. Lyric-less music played softly in the background creating delightful ambiance. And although most of the patrons were wearing plainclothes, my friend and I were wearing suits and didn't feel out of place. We claimed to work in finance. In conclusion, this great place, if your looking for a pleasant dining experiance, or a terrific drink or two. Prices aren't cheap but they are very fair for the quality. You get what you pay for. Best martini I've ever had, and I get one every bar I go to.

The food here was awesome and the bar tender was very knowledgable about what wine would pair good with my meal. I ordered a wood fired pizza and my best friend got the pork chop. Like best friends do we shared. Both were excellent. The pork chop was smokey flavored with an awesome citrusy fruit topping. Absolutely amazing. There was only one thing wrong with our meal and why I could not give this place 5 stars. What they call a steak knife there is really like a butter knife. It literally took about 2 minutes to saw through each bite of pork. We were joking about just picking it up with our hands to naw off the next bite. The bar tender laughed and said he's seen people do it before. Get new knives so your customers can eat their food without getting an arm workout in.
