I'm always looking for a new place to eat breakfast here in Eugene, but I always end up coming back here. The have an excellent breakfast menu and also have a gluten free biscuit option. Parking is sometimes hard to find but worth it!

It's not that their menu is supposed to be fancy, it IS supposed to be a diner.... but with a twist. Most of their products are natural. Many are local (grizzlies organic granolas, nancy's yogurt). They offer things like real maple syrup, organic salad greens, and the like. Their burgers and sandwiches are hearty and come with some uncommon ingredients, and take names from local landmarks. I have ALWAYS had great customer service here. I've never had to wait at this location, and the food has ALWAYS been great. I would definitely recommend it to people coming from out of town, and wanting a taste of eugene. Most recent favorite menu item: artichoke omelette. If you love artichokes like me, you'll absolutely love this.

I just experienced some of the WORST service for Monday Lunch Mom and I have lunch every Monday and usually get cheap, fast food, but we decided to go somewhere NICE for lunch...Poor attention to detail and a snotty attitude will get you exactly a penny (insult) tip from me....next time we will go get way better service at TACO Bell!!!

Great food...! Great menu, had the best omelette ever.. Can't wait to go back again!

I am a big-time breakfast guy and I really liked The Glenwood. So much so that I will be going back tomorrow. I was told about it by the girl working the rental car counter at the airport. I had the Joe's Special and loved it. I had excellent service and am looking forward to going back tomorrow. Very good value for the money, good service, a really great breakfast menu, and good food!

Food is good, service is alright. Good place to eat breakfast! Eggs Benedict are awesome along with the home fries. Love the Buckwheat Pancakes as well. It is very Eugene and you will see all kinds here, from families, to the Country Fair Standouts!

We enjoyed an impromptu dinner at Glenwood on a Saturday night- NO WAITING, much quieter than during the breakfast/lunch times so excellent service & great prices (had a discount coupon). Recommend enjoying the "Burger Flight," three gourmet sliders with side dish (customers choose) very abundant food & delicious burgers too! Couldn't eat it all~ try it :D

Converted Denny's or Shari's. Huge menu, perfectly fine breakfast. Nothing special, but not bad.
(2)C S.
Always a local favorite. Try the eggs benedict. Enjoy!

After driving for eight hours, we needed a break. We stopped off at a market near the U of O campus to use the restroom and for my first cup of coffee. I asked the friendly local for a nice, sit down breakfast spot and he suggested Glenwood. Walking in, I was a little nervous b/c we were the only minorities inside. However, we got great service from the waitress and hostess. Nothing mind blowing on the menu, but if you just want good ol' American comfort food, this fits the bill. I ordered my usual: scrambled eggs and sausage.

Our party of 4 visited The Glenwood on Willamette St. On Saturday, November 19, 2011. My husband, being gluten intolerant, ordered the gluten free muffin. He commented how good it was and much it tasted like a "real" muffin....it was..he was very ill shortly after leaving the restaurant. While the rest of us enjoyed our meals, I believe that the staff must practice extreme caution while catering to someone with a food intolerance. After all, it is offered on their menu! A day later, my husband remains ill. I did enjoy my food, as did the rest of our party...but will give a low rate because this was a serious matter involving someone's health.... and the selection WAS posted on their menu....

It's not a good sign when a restaurant can't get Coca-Cola right. I had to send my Coke back twice because it had no taste (mostly water). Our waitress forgot to take the unconsumed Coke off our bill. Waitress also forgot to bring part of my wife's order, despite our asking twice for the missing item. Cashier did adjust our bill, but if we hadn't spoken up we'd have been charged for items we were not served. In all, I found the cafe noisy, a bit pricey for the quality, and not very professional in the way wait staff are trained or supervised.

I actually prefer the Glenwood by campus, but since it's not listed and they serve all the same food, I'll park my review here. Have the biscuits and gravy! I've never ordered lunch at the Glenwood, why would I when I can order B & G? Decent coffee, nice outdoor patio (if you eat at the campus location which is an old converted house - typical Eugene), and darn good biscuits and gravy. A good place to take your folks for breakfast when they're in town.

I've been to Glenwood on Willamette twice now in the time I've been in Eugene. The food is decent and the service varies. But the last time I came the cleanliness and service were way below Oregon's Health Standards. 04/18/12 was when I dined here for breakfast. A woman waitress was wearing sneakers that had been clearly muddied and used to death, a male waiter had dog hair stuck to his T-shirt, an apron was used to wipe a spill on the ground near the waiter podium, and my most favorite of all was the reading aloud of a newspaper headlines to other co-workers while passing the waiter podium. This incident was pretty good too, a woman customer asked if they had been busy because she saw that there were names on a wait-list (kind of jokingly seems like she goes there often and knows they don't often have a wait in the afternoon) when the male waiter responded, "people just add their names down if there is no body in front of them and even if there isn't a wait," WOW. Nice job respecting the customer buddy. BAD DAY FOR THE SERVICE INDSUTRY

The Glenwood is the best breakfast place in south Eugene, and a real treasure. The food is wonderful and many selections on the impressively diverse menu make an honest attempt at keeping patrons healthy enough to return...which, of course, most do, especially since the prices are quite reasonable compared with the local competition. Of course, if you do rationalize the chicken-fried steak, you won't regret it. Better get some gravy, as long as you're rationalizing...it's good stuff, especially poured over the home fries...ack! Thud. Seriously - I enjoy the Glenwood's grub. Can you tell? Downsides? The waitstaff manager has been there for many years, and clearly no longer likes her job. She is negative, surly, and occasionally downright rude - and what's worse, she waits a few tables, "greeting" customers with a scowl. God help you if you should ask a question about the menu or fail to bark out your order at her command - don't be surprised if she stomps away from your table like a petulant child. Fortunately, the rest of the staff is friendly and helpful, and some occasionally apologize for their boss's rudeness. The parking lot is very poorly designed, and will cost you a trip to the body shop if you're foolish enough to park there on an icy day. Also, the Glenwood is a very long wait at peak breakfast times - but you know what they say: Good things come to those who wait. A solid four stars but for the mean-spirited lady in charge. Update (August, 2012): I'm taking off a star and changing my yes to a maybe. The food was much less satisfying than in past visits, and our server, a scowling woman who clearly doesn't like waiting tables, gave an indignant huff each and every time we asked for anything -- which was only twice, because she made a science of avoiding eye contact and staying out of sight. At no point did she ask how our food was...probably smart on her part, because the food was not good. When you burn both the toast and the eggs, you fail. The potatoes were still good, but the rest of the food and service sucked ass.

After reading all the great reviews, we really were looking forward to coming, but the food was very disappointing. The rice pancakes were hard, and dry and had an unpleasant artificial almond flavor to it. My wife tried to douse it w/ syrup and butter and down it w/ a lot of water to swallow it, but it was very difficult to finish all three much less one. Her sausage patty was good not great. My huevos rancheros just wasn't anything to write mom about. The beans lack luster, the spanish sauce which was pretty much salsa was also lack luster. It seemed like something anyone could've made at home w/ canned beans, bottled salsa, some eggs. Overall, I really wished it was good or great, but it was only passable.
(1)Nancy S.
great food and decent priced
(4)Sherrie V.
Go for breakfast. Its the bomb. Go for dinner... it's pretty sub par. But the breakfast is awesome! They serve super delicious mediterranean egg scrambles.
(4)Caitlin W.
I just went here for breakfast this morning and I eat here frequently. They do standards well and have a variety of more interesting breakfast options. I like that they have veggie sausage as an option and the wheat toast, I think from harvest bakery, is really yummy with the raspberry jam that you squeeze out of a bottle. This location is much easier for parking and they have pancakes (for some reason the other restaurant doesn't) so for those reasons we always go to this location. Portions are pretty generous and they don't skimp on ingredients. (The avocado omelet really does have lots of avocado.) The service is variable, sometimes great, sometimes you have to practically run down your server. I'm slightly annoyed that they recently switched to Trader Joe's green tea which I know is cheap. Was also annoyed that they wouldn't let us sit outside. The waitress said it wasn't open outside yet. No big deal really. Go early on a weekday and it's quiet with no wait.
(4)Ryan S.
I've been eating at the Glenwood for years. So long in fact, that I've tried nearly everything on the menu. The hamburgers are all really good not greasy at all. The tomato cheese soup is excellent of course. I prefer the criss-cut fries to the original. The campus location doesn't serve french fries at all, unfortunately. The eggs Benedict are some of the best in town and they serve them until 2.30 as long as they haven't run out of hollandaise sauce yet. The alder street special is my favorite sandwich on the menu, but it is very greasy. They used to have salmon fish and chips on the menu and you can still order it, but it's not on the menu anymore. The only thing I wish they would change is their boring salad. It's only lettuce and garbanzo beans and I hate garbanzos.
(5)Wella A.
This particular location looked like it used to be an IHOP or Denny's. It also reminded me of the conglomerate chains, serving breakfast until late in the day (5p), but the fare is much better in that Glenwood serves local meats. I had my eye on the special of the day: eggs benedict with bacon, mushroom and spinach topped with their homemade hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise, though smooth and creamy, lacked a bit of pizazz, so I had to remedy it with Cholula sauce. The poached eggs were perfect however. The bacon could've been crisper, but that's my personal preference; I like my bacon firm. My boyfriend ordered one of the scrambles and seemed satisfied with it. Our attentive waitress served us in a timely fashion with our plates full to the rim. We almost struggled finishing our egg dishes and had to take the potato hash to go. There was also another waitress who watched our table when our main server was occupied. The very welcoming and warm accommodation more than compensated for the mediocre food.

I love the Glenwood. I have never had a dish there that I didn't care for. The staff are wonderful and the desserts are amazing. I recommend any salad (my favorite is the chef salad with balsalmic vinaigrette). Actually I don't believe there is anything I wouldn't recommend. Their breakfasts are hearty and well prepared with quality ingredients as well.
(5)Lauri M.
We have since been back and both had burgers.... after trying many local burgers I would have to say they have the BEST burger in town.
(5)Stephanie S.
I order only a few items here, and they have always been great! Their Tomato soup is excellent! I like the ambiance of the campus location, but the Willamette location is quieter and is usually less hectic.
(5)Maki D.
I have to say the years of eating at this restaurant has not diminished my opinion one bit. The atmosphere is casual, homey, and warm. I love the location on Willamette street the best. My family and I have eaten many a meal here, dragged many a friend, and family here as well. I think what stands out to me most is their consistency over the years. The quality of the food and service hasn't gone done at all! Breakfast has to be my favorite meal here, though. I mean their pancakes, waffles, scrambles..bacon! You just can't go wrong here. The coffee and hot chocolate are on point, and you'll never have to ask for a refill. There usually isn't much of a wait. Sometimes on game weekends you'll see a crowd, but they get people through pretty quickly. I love this restaurant, and hope they always stay in business!!
(4)Tara R.
First, let me start on a positive note, the food is super tasty. My favorite dish is the Durango scramble. I always get it with the home fries and fresh fruit. It's always amazing...well, usually. The home fries were soft and somewhat mushy, not at all seasoned and hardly crispy. I ordered a drink from the menu, called London Fog. Now, you would think that since its on the menu, the staff would know how to make it...nope. I heard the waitress ask another one on what was in it, neither of them knew and had to go back into the kitchen to ask someone in there. The worst part about this experience, the wait staff. Every single one of them seemed like they had something better to be doing while taking orders or assisting customers. At one point I watched one of the waiters take an order and literally look off and grunt instead of actually acknowledging the customer. I am pretty sure I won't be going back with such horrible attitudes of the employees.
(2)Brad K.
It would be a great place if you want mushrooms on your food, but if you want something without mushrooms then you have to search hard in their menu. Otherwise the Glenwood has a wide variety of meat and sea food. It is well prepared and the service is friendly. Hard to find. The small sign isn't lighted at night. Locals go there.
(4)Krista S.
Good, attentive service. Typical breakfast/lunch food, great bacon and French toast. All over a nice experience, will definitely be going back.
(4)Whitney P.
All of my friends and family in Eugene love the Glenwood. Whenever I'm in town visiting that insist we go here for breakfast/brunch, which of course is fine with me. There is always a super long wait, so plan to wait 30-45 minutes on a weekend (if you want to read the paper, I strongly suggest bringing your own!) I've never had bad food here. Everything is delicious. But the espresso is definitely hit-or-miss, depending upon who makes it. The Mediterranean omelette is one of my favorites.
(4)Jenn J.
The Glenwood is one of those places that has been a local favorite for so long, the quality of the food gets overlooked, as stated by my friend during our visit here this weekend. I came with a party of 4 looking for a hearty, satisfying weekend brunch and instead left disappointed, and a little bit hungry. I ordered the Adobe omelette with a side of fruit and bacon, which seemed a simple enough order. The omelette itself was cold and rubbery, so I ate the filling instead which was equally dissatisfying. The chicken was dry and chewy, the olives were burnt, and there were strange bits of food that did not belong on my plate. The "fruit" was a piece of pineapple with strange white flecks on it (perhaps cheese?) and a slightly brown half peeled banana. I've had some okay experiences at the Glenwood, but it's become so hit-or-miss that I will be passing on dining here in the future.
(2)Aj V.
Good place. Earthy feel with a American home style cuisine. They have some good alternate options. It's touch and go on how busy it is. And the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the last time we went there. Only one other table was being used and we figured it would be fast. Sadly it was slower than if there was a full house.
(4)Mark A.
DLW and I don't go out for breakfast that often, but found that the Glenwood offers pretty okay options. we tried it recently for dinner when DLW had a burger jones, and it was hit and miss. First we should have requested medium or medium rare, assuming they would even cook it that way. Our burgers were cooked through, and while mine still had a good amount of juice left in it, hers was dry as the Kalahari. Toppings were pretty generous and flavorful, which helped a bit. Onion rings looked homemade and were nicely crisp. I really wanted the sweet potato fries, but they were out, so I settled for regular fries, which were at least decent. Portions were generous without being ridiculous. They are understaffed, as most Eugene restaurants are, but service was okay. The location on Willamette isn't as cozy as the one by campus, but you don't have to wait for a table most of the time, and won't encounter drunken college kids either. A decent option for diner food.
(3)Emily H.
Very good, went with sister in law and her hubby. Would definitely eat here again, good coffee.
(4)Tiffany H.
My boyfriend and I visited Eugene to watch my brother graduate. The campus location was beautiful but parking was tough & more people of course. So, we tried this location on Williamette. We appreciated the service & those yummy SWEET POTATOES PANCAKES(TATAS PANCAKES) that we had to come back again before leaving town! The second time around we came early graduation day, sat out in the sun & our service was evening BETTER! The busser/server assistant was there both times & was a huge reason we had such a great time. He was polite, attentive, & just had great service. I was soooo in love with this place because they were on top of everything! Extra water & fast haha. Our server this time had such a great personality, that we will be back whenever we visit again. Thank you soooo much for the wonderful service & food. Much gratitude!!!!
(5)Vanessa R.
I love the Glenwood. My husband and I like the Willamette location simply because of the parking and service. The Alder location has a better atmosphere but it's always packed and hard to find parking near campus. The winning dish is always their tomato basil soup. Simply fantastic and I am not a fan of tomato soup in general. While this place is mostly known for breakfast/brunch, dinners are outstanding. Glenwood is also a great place for a large group. It's our first choice when we have family in from out of town.
(5)Doug D.
Dinner tonight at Glenwood was very good. A year ago I said they needed to clean-up and update. THEY DID! Nice new look and still the great Glenwood food. THANKS!
(4)Elizabeth W.
I rarely eat breakfast out, but when I do. The place I go is Glenwood. Very casual, with a variety of folks enjoying good food. Service is fast and friendly. Food is reasonably priced. I always get the whole wheat toast, which is from The bakery located a few doors down. I try to resist the home fries, but I am rarely successful. Delicious! I prefer this location to the campus location. Don't get me wrong, both get busy at times, but I feel the weight is a bit less at the Willamette location.
(5)Cory M.
Worst biscuits and gravy in town. Price was extremely high for the crap food you get. I literally got half a potato in my home fries. As well, they didn't even get my order right to top off this horrible experience. Want good B and G go to Steve's in Springfield or the muffin mill in Eugene.
(1)Arik K.
Im an Americana critic. This place is the best. Fresh food, fresh juice, perfection. Im slowly going thru the whole menu, and haven't found a dish I don't love. Fast service, better than home cooking.
(5)Tre W.
Both glenwood's are awesome! Huge menu to choose from with options that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Great for breakfast lunch and dinner. I have been going here 15 years and have received consistent quality every time. Their tomato cheese soup is a must to try (I even get it for breakfast) All items are very reasonable prices for the quality received.
(5)Daisy G.
One of my favorite places for healthy breakfast food. Good locations all over eugene and the pink champagne cake is super tasty at the one on campus. Most locations have a pretty standard lay out for the seating and it's definitely a family environment.
(4)Doreen S.
Sorry to have to say this, but true story. We used to get the take away $15 dinners really regularly, almost once a week. They were pretty good and often we were shocked that they weren't losing money because the portions were generous we usually had leftovers. But something happened around October / November. The pork roast was like a dried piece of wood. Next week, The Swedish meatballs were dry! As if a can of mushroom soup had lost all liquidity. Spaghetti next week, same thing. I think the cooks changed. We stopped buying from them entirely, it's sad because it was so convenient.
(2)Karen L.
My daughter and I came here for brunch. She had the pancake combo with bran pancakes that were about 1 1/2 inches thick. They offer free range eggs and delicious pan fried red potatoes. I had the hazelnut and banana French toast and it was deeeelish! I will be back.
(5)Leisha W.
This is where I get my Dinner For Four several times a month, if not several times a week. Plenty of food for four; in fact the quilting ladies and I will supplement it with side dishes or supplement their side dishes and eat like queens on it. Only $15, so cheap and easy and of course the people are great.
(5)Kate F.
WORST SERVICE EVER! This used to be my favorite place & we ate here frequently. The service in the last year has been getting worse. This morning my husband & I wanted breakfast. We had to wait for our server to finally show up just to take our order. She gave us coffee & WE NEVER SAW HER AGAIN!! I had to ask the grey hair lady (owner?) for coffee refills. I then had to flag her down to check on our food as I noticed those who were seated after us already had their orders. She brought the food & it was cold because it had been sitting for so long. I told her it was cold. She never said sorry, never said a word to us!! Last time we will spend our hard earned $$ at Glenwoods & will go to Brail's instead. I guess they don't want or need our business.
(1)Josh W.
Man O Man... We've never tried this location, but last weekend we gave it a run. We were craving breakfast and a scramble sounded good. That is until I seen a Bleu Cheese burger and a Ninkasi on the menu and thought......"Hey, it is 1pm..." My wife went with her usual Mediterranean omlette/scramble (which they forgot to add fetta) and I pulled the trigger on a Crooked River burger with a Total Domination. The beer was only $2.75 and it was serverd with a nice chilled glass. Once I got the burger, it looked a little sad. Okay, really sad. Looks like someone got mad and just beat the hell out of it. The menu brags on it's local, excellent, wonderful, yadda yadda beef they use. It sucks. No bueno. It was served on a wheat bun, which I dont care for with burgers. The bacon was great though!! Seiously, the bacon was good....but thats it. I would've rather had bacon and beer to be honest. The whole experience was forgetable, and I will never order another burger from this place, just isn't going to happen. I wish I had more to write about, but at this point, I kinda want to put it behind me!
(2)Hodor H.
Ordered for takeout and when I got there at the predicted time I ended up standing at the register for another half hour. Poor service and got a little sass from the cashier when I asked how much longer it would take. Go somewhere else if you're hungry.
(1)Aurora S.
There is only one thing that I look forward to when going to the Glenwood... Sweet potato fries! They are magical. Life changing! Everything else is pretty average. The jam that they offer on the tables is pretty amazing too.
(3)Jean W.
I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Glenwood...once we located it! Seriously, this Willamette location is hidden. We were GPS'ing to get there, and as if it were invisible, we drove past it a number of times. They do display a proper sign that could be detected if it weren't also hidden behind huge trees. Once we found the place and got a taste of what they're cookin, I was happy that it wasn't more visible! Less people...better and faster service, right? Well, in theory...more on that later... Nice diverse breakfast menu, with some unique creations (16 different omelette combos!). I pondered, then ordered the Avocado Omelette and patiently awaited its arrival. Some time later, I took my first bite, and fell in love. It was insanely good! Eggs were perfectly cooked, not rubbery and salty like many places serve their omelettes. Served with some of the very tastiest breakfast potatoes I've ever launched down the ol' gullet. Standard toast and fresh fruit options on the side. I must make special mention of the raspberry jam they serve with their toast; it was so good, we asked if they sell it. Our waiter told us it's from a company call Trailblazer. We found their website. We ordered. So yummy! Hubby landed on the Verde Brunch Burrito which he devoured before I could even pillage a single bite (or even take a photo!). He said it was great, which I'm inclined to believe. Like most other Oregon joints which are open after the Noon hour, their wine list is posted via chalkboard on the wall adjacent to the door. It looked impressive, and if we weren't outta there immediately after breakfast, we would have returned for dinner. Next time. The one true dim spot in our Glenwood experience was the very slow service; slow to be greeted by your server, then served, and then revisited by the server. Coffee refills were not number one on their agenda! This place is small, and I had higher expectations of the service, but the food and general cheerfulness of the staff more than made up for it! I can't wait to go back to The Glenwood!
(4)Katie B.
Favorite breakfast spot in Eugene. A few favorite meals are the country poach (biscuits and gravy with poached eggs), the pancake sampler, and the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. It's never easy to pick between the three but I never regret my choice. I've only ever been here for breakfast (which usually happens around 1pm and they're still serving it!) but their lunch and dinner menu is HUGE. I usually only go here with one or two people since the group wait time can be pretty lengthy on weekends. This location is pretty limited for large group seating since it's mostly aisle seating and booths. But it is definitely worth the wait for decent prices on large portions.
(4)Anna S.
My husband and son say disgusting. They got pancakes and eggs. How do you make that taste bad? Not sure, but the Glenwood did. We'll stick to our normal place from now on. I ordered the hazelnut French toast and their biscuits and gravey. Their French toast was good. Not great. But it was good. The biscuits and gravy though, not good. Sticking to our normal spot for that as well. Our service for a busy Sunday was okay. My son's water glass was empty for about ten minutes, a different waitress came to get a condiment from our table. I pointed out the empty glass and our waitress was right there to fill it. So-so service. I wouldn't call it bad. I think it's so busy because the people in south Eugene don't have very many breakfast options.
(2)Lesley D.
Long wait. Not ideal for parties of more than 4 people. Small portions. The toast had a dab of margarine the size of a nickle applied to it. WEAK SAUCE for butter lovers like myself. There is nothing really special about the food here with one exception, the tomato cheddar soup. Get the tomato cheddar soup here and be happy! Pros Tomato Cheddar soup is some of the best I've ever had Good coffee Cons Expect a wait Service is so/so

I'm a breakfast fanatic. That being said, i may also have higher standards than some when it comes to my breakfast. I've been to the Glenwood 4 times now. The first time i don't even recall what i got because it didn't stand out as anything worth remembering. The 2nd time i was there bright and early on a Friday because my coworkers wanted to go there, otherwise i wouldn't have. That day it was actually really good, biscuits and gravy with deluxe home fries or whatever they're called. So i decided to bring my partner there a few days later early in the day for breakfast. Once again it was actually good. Chicken fried streak and the deluxe home fry things for her, pancakes and eggs for me. So today (Wednesday) we gave it another shot since it was good last time, and because we live really close otherwise we have two other places that have never failed us. Anyways, it was after 2 pm but we wanted breakfast so we go in and order chicken fried steak and pancakes again...it was nothing like the last time. I even asked my server if they had changed the chicken fried steak. He said no. Toast was burnt gravy was blah and not very hot, deluxe potatoes looked like a pile of greasy mush and tasted like it too. The eggs were supposed to be over medium but some of the white part was still runny. My pancakes were fine, thats a hard one to screw up. So maybe there was a different cook or...i don't know. The energy there is always a bit off too and makes me slightly uncomfortable. The service i can't really complain about. I won't be returning though unless i feel like taking a chance with my money and I'm really hungover and in desperate need of breakfast foods.
(2)Janet M.
The Glenwood, and I liked the Willamette Location better when I lived there ( sorry, less college students, you know?) is my favorite breakfast place in Eugene. Hands down. Omelets, bennie's, waffles, french toast, I liked it all. and I like all the side choices they have ( veggie sausage, yum) and I liked the espresso. Oh, and if you want to eat oatmeal, the oatmeal is really good. I know this is silly, to eat oatmeal out, but sometimes it just does the trick. My whole family likes it, too. When we go down there ( my father in law is still there), my kid says "Glenwood Mom?"and I say, yes! Oh, lunch is pretty good too, we like tomato soup and grilled cheese. Awesome comforting warm goodness. ( don't go if you're in a hurry, though, other yelpers are correct, the service can be slow, and there is often a wait).
(4)Cori D.
The food is always decent, but this location isn't as cozy and warm as the one closer to campus. Also, I felt like I was annoying the waitress every time she came by the table. Maybe she didn't notice that we weren't college students and could actually tip her? I don't know, but she really wasn't nice and it put a damper on our breakfast. I go the skillet with eggs over easy instead of scrambled - definitely the right choice! Delicious.

Amazing food & service always! I've never been disappointed. Highly recommend the Glenwood Restaurant. Fresh, well prepared food. Great menu & well priced. Go & enjoy what myself & others have found to be a good place to chow :)

I join the chorus of those reviewers wondering why this place gets such a crowd. I'd eaten at the campus location a couple times in the last past, and it didn't excite me then. Today's breakfast at the Willamette Street location was really just bad. Bad service, bad home fries, hard English muffins for the Benedict, flavorless omelets and well, my omelette with avocado, three pieces of spinach and a glob of cream cheese was just gross. No, no, no. Only redeeming quality was decent locally roasted coffee and a baby changing table in the bathroom. The wait was long, the table configuration awkward and the waitstaff either vacant or slightly rude. At least I don't have to wonder if I'm missing out when I drive by and see the crowds waiting to get in.

I had one of the worst dining experiences in my life here. I brought the wife and 2 kids one morning and we just eventually walked out scratching our heads. We couldn't even get coffee. I think the waitress might have been new and "in the weeds" so to speak. The service in restaurants is generally bad in Eugene. It is often unprofessional college kids. The Glenwood is good for breakfast. It is comfort food that is reasonably priced. The diner menu is pretty basic comfort food that isn't too special but is reasonably priced last time I was there (which was years ago for dinner). They also have a dinner-to-go that is $14 and serves a family of 4. You can check it on the website every day and order from there if you like it. It is sometimes surprisingly good and very inexpensive.

Great place for breakfast! Friendly, comfortable, with good food and organic fair trade coffee.

The Glenwood used to be great, but it's changed recently. Not sure what it is, the food just doesn't taste the same anymore. I don't like the tomato cheese soup everyone else seems to like either, it's just very plain tomato sauce with unmelted, grated, plasticky cheese in it. The Tempeh sandwich is good though, I would order that again.

One of the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. EVER. I wanted to get naked and roll around on the plate. It was ungodly loud but who wants to talk (or listen) when you are shoveling the food equivalent of a ray of sunshine into your face.

I love the Glenwood! I worked here years ago and would eat breakfast, lunch and buy dinner for when I got home! Love Love Love! They're open 23 hours a day lol It's on campus so you have to be open to chaos, your local crazy and a drunk or two...but the food is amazing! All the coffee drinks are good too The staff was always amazing. Go upstairs for a quiet and cozy table for one, eat and study or read...it's great.

Breakfast gets a three, but the dinners always seem to taste the same no matter what you order. I mean that a pasta dish might as well be a meat dish to me etc. I end up going here because of someone I know who thinks it's the best place in the world. I usually end up ordering off the side dish menu and thinking about where I really wish I was for dinner.

Everything about The Glenwood with the exception of the coffee can be summarized with a nice two star review. My omelet was weak and had all the tomatoes on one end and all the feta on the other. My girlfriend's salmon eggs benedict looked like it had been dropped on the plate from 20 feet above. The display was awful. My biggest complaint is the breakfast potato offering at this place. Since when were fried mashed potatoes an okay thing to serve with breakfast? Homefries? Cool. Hashbrowns? Cool. Barely fried mashed potatoes? Not cool. The service was good, but there are plenty of places in Eugene that would be a better bet than The Glenwood for breakfast. On a side note I got food poisoning from The 'Wood on campus four years ago. I was third world country sick for about 36 hours. It sucked. Go to Brail's or Friendly Street Cafe or any other place on Yelp that comes up when you search breakfast.

Came on a Saturday for breakfast, it was Busy.. Must be good! Had to wait 15-20 min but food came fast and it was Delicious!! Lot of choices, everything seems very fresh too. Mine came with a whole quarter of fresh pineapple! Waiter was nice, older guy at the front look a little frazzled and grumpy though. Don't listen to the negative comments, must try for yourself!

Excellent breakfast and super fast service. It was a busy Saturday morning, but we were waited on promptly and our food was out very quickly. The food was excellent as was the coffee. Our waiter was very friendly.

It's always swing and a miss when I go here. The food is always underwhelming but the staff is generally friendly. Weekend breakfast isn't worth the wait or the price.

I had lunch here. Soup was bland and tasteless. Salad was wilted

This is overpriced diner food. I ordered french toast and spent some extra ($1 or 2) for maple syrup. They delivered the meal with a container of syrup. I poured it on expecting it to be the maple syrup I ordered. Guess what, it was your standard corn syrup mush. Now that I poured it on the french toast could not undo it. The did bring me maple syrup when I complained. My general impression the other times I have eaten here (my family likes to come here) is that it is overpriced so-so food. However I did like the cake here so it moved from a 1 to 2 star.

For the price you can get a huge breakfast. Friendly service, though sometimes it can be a bit busy and sporadic on weekends.

Emily S., forgive me! When I read your review of the Glenwood I thought, "Girl, you must have just had a bad day!!" Not so! Went here for dinner tonight and this place is on the slide in the wrong direction. Why? Napkins, straw sleeves, etc on the floor. Not just in one area, mind you. Yes, the building has a floor to it, folks. The food was good, as I had the Lemon Chicken. The Clam Chowder was over-peppered and had chunks of ham (?) in it. Okay. New one to me. Had to ASK for rolls where in the past it was presented in a cloth covered basket. Okay. Then, Then, Then, some idiot pulls up, in front of the restaurant, where we are sitting, and gets out, walks way, and leaves his lights on. Try eating a meal with headlights in your face. No, the idiot could not be found. I work hard, tip very well (20% or better on a given), and Yelp with a "Put yourself in their shoes" mentality. My end of the day suggestion: Spend your money at another place, tip well and I sure hope the Glenwood pulls it out as there are several decent places in Eugene that want your business. May try again just because of past good experiences.

2 stars for service, 4 stars for food = 3 stars. We used to eat here 3 times a month. The hamburgers are delicious! But we stopped going because our service was just horrible each time. We would wait 15 minutes before a server would even acknowledge us, on at least 5 occasions. I would love to come back and support this place, because I like the food. I hope Glenwood will take notice and improve on this.

There is a reason that The Glenwood has been in business for such a long time, they seem to understand the concept of good food, good service, and fair prices. I been serving up food for as long as I can remember (I remember that we stopped on the way to the hospital for breakfast the morning our first child was born, some 21 years ago!) From eggs Benedict to omelets or amazing french toast you will not go wrong.
(4)Heather S.
Still good but there are better options (by far) in Eugene.

The best in town! I love this place. Good food and decent prices. Always friendly and speedy service. I try not to go on Sunday though just because there is usually a bit of a wait.
(5)Tyler B.
This place has one of the best breakfasts in town. The food is cheap, well made, consistent, and there is always enough to fill you up with must of the dishes being enough for two people. The specials seem to rotate between chicken fried stake with potatoes and eggs benedict with toast and potatoes. The lunch and dinner menus have a great deal of variety and most everything is very good with my favorite being the Yakisoba noodles. The servers are nice but slow (like most of Eugene's restaurants). I have only had one mistake here ever from the server and it was quickly corrected. The wait for breakfast can be very long on Saturday and Sunday mornings (sometimes up to 30 mins). The wait for lunch and dinner ranges from being seated right away and 5 minuets.

A good hearty breakfast place. Omelets are pretty big. Unfortunately, they did not have their muffins I read peeps talking about. The home made jam is good though. I had montana omelet. TB had the chili verde omelet. Both good. Chicken a bit on the dry side in the verde omelet. They should definitely have more salsa come with it. Overall, great breakfast.

I am such a fan of Glenwood for breakfast...I don't think I have ever gone wrong. I particularly like their veggie scramble and durango scramble. However, I find lunch and dinner a little more hit and miss. The tomato cheese soup and the salad with pear and walnuts are delicious, though.

went here about 2 weeks ago on our cross-country trip. I love restaurants where I can get breakfast and my hubby can have lunch because he hates breakfast foods and I can eat them all day and night long. Right away, I liked the atmosphere and decor - nicer and brighter than Denny's but still casual given it's Oregon. All the servers were friendly (I even saw one talking to this little old lady for awhile about her day, which was the sweetest thing). I like the feeling that these people are chill and relaxed. Our server was the slowest and least seen of them all, but she was still all right. The prices are great too. Now to the food - I had eggs, sausage, and pancakes. Eggs and sausage were tasty and the berry sauce with the pancakes was excellent. The only thing I didn't like about this meal were my pancakes - they were super TOUGH. It was a let down but they tasted fine (the texture was just way off) so I still ate them. That's mainly why I'm not giving 5 stars. I wish I had given french toast a try instead. My SO had a fried chicken salad, which he devoured - good sign that it was on point. He also had the tomato soup (we both agreed it was too ketchupy). He had this awesome soft and crumbly biscuit too - so tasty he ordered another. A definite go to breakfast/lunch place in Eugene.

This place rocks, great food and you get a lot for what you pay for. Look out for the coupons that give you a buy one get one free on certain days. Breakfast is awesome...you will not be disappointed!
(4)Craig T.
I am betting that our table ordered the wrong items. Two of us had pancakes and they were not good. Very heavy and the plain pancakes were oversalted. Oversalted? I had biscuits and gravy - biscuits were cold and unremarkable, home fries passable. Maybe Sundays are not the best time for that kitchen. The staff is friendly and the service is good, but the chow was a downer.

The Eugene Denny's! Good breakfasts, solid real food. At this location, it's quite packed, and can be difficult to get in with a large party.
(4)Penguin S.
Great menu with a lot of resonably priced items. I couldn't decide between a short stack and the special, which was a chicken fried steak on potatoes with toast and 2 eggs for $9. The steak was so tender, no knife was needed. The gravy was thick and tasty. I got my eggs poached, which came out perfect. Service was decent and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would hope to return here for my next visit to Eugene.

If you've been bummed out by an experience at their campus location (as I have, one too many times), give 'em one more try here. We have eaten here dozens of times in the last decade and have only had a couple of disappointing experiences. Service is good, in part because the space is smaller and easier to manage. Also, turnover on waitstaff seems lower. I'm not out and about before noon on a weekend, but I'd bet that this place is nearly as busy as the campus location in the mornings. Thankfully, breakfast can be had until 5pm every day, and this is the meal where The Glenwood really shines. I usually go with one of their many interesting scrambles. Apart from the usual suspects of bacon/sausage or toast/muffin, you can choose from a large variety of sides, including home fries, veggie sausage, and fresh fruit. For the gluten intolerant, I recommend their rice pancakes, which have a subtle almond undertone that recalls marizpan. Dinners come with complimentary rye rolls and butter. Carnivores, you must try the Alder Street Special, which is a tricked out BLT : bacon, turkey, cheddar, and Swiss are grilled on marble rye, then dressed with mayo, tomato, and sprouts. You get one side, so do it up right: dip it in the tomato cheese soup.

Best breakfast in Eugene. I like the campus location the best. I have ordered a few different items on the breakfast menu and I always come back to ordering the Glenwood. Great food

Favorite breakfast/brunch spot ever! Great food and coffee, and comfy atmosphere. I love that they have avocado too. (: They are usually pretty busy and it gets crowded, but the staff is so friendly, I still think it deserves 5 stars.

This was my favorite restaurant as a student so I was really looking forward to it. Was here about noon on a Sunday after a football game for breakfast. Been years since I have been and the egg scramble and potatoes were good. However, my boyfriend ordered the waffle-- and it was a complete disappointment. It looked like a large Eggo waffle-- but undercooked. The service wasn't the best-- took a very long time to receive our food. So bad that I had to ask where our food was.
