Fresh ingredients and deliciously smoked meats made locally. They make great jerky too, and who doesn't love jerky? For sandwhiches, I recommed the big, tasty Dagwood that will fill me even on my hungriest of days. The people and service are wonderful, and there's a drive up window for convenience, if that's your flavor. On the wall to entertain you while you wait, they've got a collection of all the joke emails your mom has ever forwarded you. I love Emerald!

Hands down the best jerky and pepperoni you will find anywhere near here. Great food as well. I don't think I've ever had anything bad from here. Always friendly service.

If you can catch these people when they are open, they make a hell of a sandwich. They smoke their own meats, and their beef jerky is to die for! Well worth the extra money over SUBWAY, BLAH!

THEY APPEAR TO HAVE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. Very sorry, as I really liked this place. Great beef jerky and good sandwiches. 2.13.15

Their claim of best pastrami Reuben was pretty close. Worth a try if you're on the hunt.

This place is disgusting! Everything is dusty/dirty, seats have rips/holes in them. The staff don't practice standard food health code, I purchased jerky and she grabbed it without gloves and weighed it on a disgusting unclean scale...gross.. won't bring my business here.

Awesome resteraunt. Everything from here is spectacular. I recommend the fried egg breakfast sandwich.

Awesome place! I have yet to consume anything from here that hasn't been completely satisfying. I've been eating at Emerald for roughly 13 years now, and it's been consistently awesome.

Love their Reuben sandwiches. Their portions are very generous too. Their half order means 1 sandwich and the full order means 2 sandwiches. I like the their fish and chips too, cod & salmon is priced the same.

This place ranks up there in the top 2 or 3 meat/jerky/beef stick/sausage preparers I've ever had the pleasure of frequenting. What was initially a $20 budget to sample their product turned into $80 and a kick-arse turkey club. They have daily specials that will have you checking your schedule to see how you can partake of these killer deals. I bought jerky in original and teriyaki flavors as well as beef sticks and beer sausages. They have a great selection of cured products and I decided to sample their turkey club sandwich. While I was waiting for my sandwich; (short wait mind you) a bunch of people came in buying all sorts of cured meats and the counter workers were giving advice in how best to prepare what ever was purchased. I told a few ppl at my work about this place and all sounded generally interested but some commented that it is a far drive. Coming from SD; a 20min drive is nothing but it is even less of a drive when considering the insane quality of the cured meats you can enjoy. Highly recommend you try this place out!!!

This place now has a medical marijauna store where it used to be. A vast improvement in my eyes.

Don't be fooled like me. I've passed this place for years, finally stopped in. Dumb, dumb, dumb! What took me so long? Walking in at lunchtime, it's obviously popular, despite bad signage, a forgettable facade, and a pretty basic "dive/cafeteria" aura. They must be doing SOMETHING right - and that "something" is food. We split a delicious, crisp generous pastrami reuben, with potato salad so good we ordered a second dish. Fish & chips and hamburgers going by our table looked good too, left me wishing it was already tomorrow. The type of place I could happily eat my way through the menu, and still be impatient to start again. Good prices, brassy, quick service, great food. My new "go to" place in the wasteland of W 11th.

Amazing sandwiches! This place has been around for years and continues to make mouth watering food. They have a great selection of fresh & tasty meats. Stop in and try it. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

The food here is OK but it is cheap. The service is not good. I've been twice, got to-go orders both times, and was disappointed. The blonde girl who helped me the first time put the 3 containers of potato salad directly on top of the Ruben. That's right: cold & hard on top of hot & soft. Brilliant. The second time I asked for a large potato salad instead of chips with a sandwich and, you guessed it, I got chips. Wouldn't have been so bad if when I said something I wasn't told "I guess you got some free chips then" and made to feel as if I was trying to cheat them out of some food let alone not being given a reciept to prove I'd paid for a "large". I strongly suggest asking to see the sizes of the salad containers because they are SMALL. Having said that, the food isn't bad. It's cheap and very simple, but is very satisfying. The menu is very large and there are many things not on the printed menu that are advertised inside. It's difficult to recommend this place but I can see it being a great place for some and an utter disappointment for others. My advice is to try it but keep your expectations very, very low.

One of last places to get great house-made jerky. A great deli with excellent inexpensive food, no to mention good portion sizes. They have just partnered with the Fishermen's market as well to give even more protein options. Great little secret of west Eugene, that all people need to check out.

I've gone to this place twice and had amazing lunches at unbeatable prices. The quality of ingredients is excellent. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because each time I go, I ask the manager "Can I bring in some of my meat tomorrow to have it processed into jerky and sausage?" [In addition to making great lunches, they also process wild game.] Each time I ask I get the response "I'll have to ask..." and that's how she ends the conversation. She just gets to work making my burger. I can understand this happening once on accident, but I've tried to set this up twice and got nowhere. I'm a fairly assertive guy and this is just laughable. Part of me wants to say "Ok, ask now, and get me answer before I finish my burger." But, I'm not sure how I would phrase that without sounding like an A-hole. Their food is so good I really don't want to burn any bridges. Maybe next time I get pulled over for speeding and the officer asks "How fast do think you were going?" I'm just going to say "I'll have to ask..." and sit there with a blank stare until he walks off. It seems to work for Emerald Meat and Deli. My advice is to get lunch at Emerald Meat and Deli, but if you want to have some meat processed, go some place where they don't " ...have to ask..." UPDATE: I went in for attempt number three today and found a guy named Tony who said "Yeah, bring it in tomorrow." I'm happy now. Bring your meat here. If it turns out as good as their lunches you will be very happy. This place gets 5 stars. UPDATE#2: I am very pleased with my meat. It is exactly what I wanted.

FIrst off I need to say it's been several years since I've been to Emerald Deli. But when I did live in Eugene I was a regular customer. Lunch time I would always get the smoked turkey sandwich plus a side of their jo-jos. Hit the spot every time. Everything tasted fresh, and the owner always remembered me when I came in. I visit Eugene every so often but it's always on the weekends and they're closed then so I don't get a chance to eat there. Oh well, one of these days...

I was really impressed with the lunch menu here. I had the cod fish and chips and they were really good. I wasn't so impressed with the deli/meat selection (I didn't get anything, but I looked it all over). They seem to have a very small seafood selection (it sounds like they have partnered with Fisherman's Market). They didn't have any mussels and said they don't get them (even though Fisherman's market has them). I would definitely like to see more seafood options (like mussels in particular). Also, they had some steamer clams but they seemed pretty pricey at $6 a lb. You should be able to get mussels or steamer clams for $5 a lb or less. Pros: - Great lunch food options, the fish and chips are great! - A nice, convenient place (for me) to be able to get hard-to-find seafood or meat (if they happen to have it). Cons: - Not enough seafood variety (in my opinion). - Sort of a dive atmosphere. - Its sort of hard to tell from the road that that this place even serves lunch (but they do!). I think they could do a lot better job of advertising that.
