Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Killer prices, healthy food in a generous portion. Been here six times and haven't been disappointed yet. Give them a try.

Best burrito spot in Eugene by far. Try the chicken fajita or extreme veggie burrito, also great salsas. And yum to the breakfast burritos with refried beams - so many spots don't put beans in the breakfast burritos, what's up with that... Horchata tastes like it's from a can made with syrup so maybe skip that. I think they must use lard in the tortillas because they are so pliable and delicious. Strangely they also have awesome curly fries, which they add to at least one of their burritos. I've never tried it but I know people who swear it's the best burrito they've ever had. So next time you're super broke come get a giant burrito for $5 and eat for two meals.
(5)James D.
The best burrito and burrito selection in Eugene. Better than Burrito Boy and Burrito Amigos. I got the Oregon and a side of rice for 7 bucks. Now let me get to the point. This burrito was exquisitely crafted and FILLED to bursting ingredients. It was the best 5 bucks spent. The tortilla was expertly crisp on the outside. Just skip every other Mexican place and just treat yourself and your wallet to El Super. Stay based.
(5)Sarah D.
Best burritos in Eugene by far! My favorite is the ground beef burrito which is the perfect size and less than $5. Great place!
(5)Justin F.
The most on point Mexican joint in Eugene. Delicious, affordable, and with big portions. Check out the three meat dinner plate. You get two huge tortillas and enough ingredients to make two big burritos and some left over.
(5)James S.
Amazing prices. Amazing food. Everyone I bring absolutely loves this place , and in my opinion it is the best Mexican Food in Eugene. My Fave - 4 Soft Tacos, & an order of taquitos.
(5)Rainie B.
An inexpensive place to get generous portions and delicious food (an average price of $5 per menu item, which can easily serve as two separate meals). After trying a good selection of their burritos, the Super Nachos, and a few of their specialty plates, I can safely recommend El Super as the best place for Mexican food in Eugene. They are also very lenient with serving breakfast burritos outside of their breakfast menu hours, which is great.
(5)Lawrence L.
I'm from SD, so I was extremely skeptical of Mexican food north of, say, LA. But, after driving from Edmonton to Oakland, we broke down and went for Mexican in Eugene. (Go Ducks!). I'm so glad we did. This place has the best carne asada burritos we've had in years! I recommend this place to any reluctant Californian looking for good Mexican food in Oregon. Their Oregon burrito, though, is misnamed. It's a California burrito, folks.
(5)Maegan H.
Best street style tacos in town. I really enjoy the al pastor and carne asada tacos. I would give a three stars for the burritos. Horchata is really tasty too.
(4)Liz G.
The oregon burrito is the best! Great prices, even better burritos. They close pretty early though so get there before 8:30!
(4)Maytal A.
Pretty authentic mexican food, got a carne asada burrito that was delicious and very cheaply priced! They close at 8:30 so you can't have any late night burritos but service is quick! I come here anytime I'm back in Eugene!
(4)Tianyi S.
Not once has this place ever had reusable silverware available. Have you ever tried cutting a giant chile verde burrito with a flimsy plastic fork? Clear across town, El Super Burrito's sister, El Taco Express, always has reusable silverware available, not to mention burritos that are at least half a pound heavier. But El Super Burrito will do when you need eggs & coffee from Market of Choice, and want to kill two birds (dinner and grocery shopping) with one stone.
(3)Jo R.
Really good tacos and solid burritos. The only thing I don't like here is their breakfast burritos, sometimes they leave huge chunks of potatoes and bacon that make them kinda gross.
(4)Jim W.
Holy Crap!! I've had several trips here in the last 2 months and WOW so GOOD!! Oregon Burrito needs to be featured on Food Network and maybe have a song wrote after it. So good and One and Done cause that guy will fill you up. Chimi - On par with some of the best I've eaten. Rolled Tacos - YUM! Light and flaky - Not oily and greasy - Just good! Sauces are great. Hot and delicious! Atmosphere - You guys need a little help here. While I ABSOLUTELY recommend this place, it is definitely a dive. Tables scattered where ever, menu edited with a label maker and post it notes and chairs with duct tape. Service -On Point!! Never a wait and the staff is super nice.
(4)Moises L.
El Super es la pura pinche vida! Best mexican food north of So Cal. Dont miss the Machaca burrito.
(5)Mark P.
This place isn't extraordinary, nor is it in any way bad. What you'll find is arguably the cheapest Mexican food on the Willamette strip of South Eugene, and with a pretty nice portion size. What do I recommend? The Oregon Burrito. It's clearly one of the most Americanized things on the menu (contains fries, steak, guac, and pico) but that's also why it's one of the most popular and delicious items available.
(3)Turner M.
Only writing this because of their awesome service. I called in my order and picked it up, but it wasn't until I was a bite in till I realized it was the wrong burrito. I came back, they noticed the burrito in my hand, had me come to the front and took my order again. I felt bad about it because I'm quite the regular but they were really nice about it and got me a new burrito in less then 5 min. I was impressed and felt the need to give them a good review
(5)Melissa M.
Inexpensive authentic Mexican food. Finally found a place that makes a burrito the way I like it....a balance of ingredients, layered in a balanced way (in other words, you won't end up at the end of the burrito before you get to the meat,) and they come with rice and beans by default. They also make great breakfast burritos! Their ROASTED red sauce is my favorite, smokey yumminess :) Friendly staff too :)
(4)Keith M.
Killer prices, healthy food in a generous portion. Been here six times and haven't been disappointed yet. Give them a try.
(5)Maki D.
Love this burrito joint! The service is always excellent and my gosh the food comes out quick! I love that they're always open (it seems like to me) and they are ever so conveniently located by my house! Love love it!
(4)Ciera C.
Always satisfied! My go-to is the Al Pastor with sour cream added in, of course. If I wake up a little too early I go for the machaca burrito which is the breakfast chorizo burrito, which is awesome because you get chorizo in every bite because its mixed so well! Also love both the green and red sauce, which is sometimes hard to come by. They taste great together. Prices are very affordable and it's also a great hangover cure
(5)Don B.
This place is so terrible it's actually good (if you're coming off a sixty day coke bender and partially handicapped) ... But seriously, who wouldn't want to dive into a fresh plate of the newest disease that the University of Oregon is currently carrying!? Mmmm, gosh darn it, I can almost taste those cod tacos!!!! Enjoy!
(5)B. W.
ESTA MUY BUENO! This is the most delicioso menu with absolutely the best prices. Seriously, the best yet , biggest, asada+chili rellano super burrito for $5, paired with a fresh horchata to wash it down is as good as it gets. Mas Bueno Tacos! Big, cool, shady dining room with pleanty of seating, lots of free cold water, and a large map of Mexico. Excellent.
(5)Zak T.
One of the BEST taquerias in Eugene. Huge menu, prices are impossible to beat. Located out of the way enough not to attract too much of the University crowd which keeps the lines manageable. Fast, friendly service and plenty of seating. The have house-made sauces (green, yellow and red bottles) that are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the carne asada fries - a plate full of fries covered with refried beans, cheese and asada - add on fresh tomatoes, guac and some green sauce and you're gonna have a good time.
(5)Vinny T.
I don't know when things changed, but it's no longer awesome food here. When they first opened their food was San Diego style and friggin epic. Now the carne asada tastes like it's not marinated. And cheap steak cuts are just cheap steak cuts. Not very good at all. Tough and not a good flavor.. And seriously?! How are you going to call SLICED AVOCADOS GUACAMOLE??!! That really upsets me. Guacamole tastes great. Has spices and other great things. Avocado slices are a weird tasting fruit with a softish flesh that just has a texture that I don't care for. So passing off some slices of an avocado for guacamole is bull. And last night I ordered a chicken and steak fajita torte with a side of curly fries. The torte was just bland and not good. The chicken was okay, but the rest of it wss so bad that I took my meal that I had spent nine dollars on and put it out on the deck for the animals to eat. Bet the possum that got it loved it. So at least something didn't find the food to be unacceptable. And curly fries! Like the picture on the menu? I was served crinkle cut fries!Does anyone like those tastless, nasty ass fries. All white and pasty. Curly fries are battered and tasteful!! What jackwagon swaps those fries and think it just fine. To the one that did that, you deserve a great big "F you jackwagon!" Like I said. This place was easily the best Mexican fast food. Now I don't even know if I'll continue to to eat here anymore. Now it tastes a lot like that nasty ass el super taco.. I heard they are of the same owners. But the one on w 11th has been pretty gross from when they first opened their doors. When I was told they're owned by the same people I just couldn't believe it. Now though? Well now they are both sucking. Sadly I'll have to concede that even burrito boy is putting out a more quality food product. I'm truly saddened being from San Diego. I've traveled and lived from the west coast to the east coast. And then back to the west coast, cause let's face it. The west coast is where it's at. Finding food served up like it is in San Diego is a rare treat. Too bad it's been lost...
(2)Ida D.
El Super has become a weekly stop for me and my boyfriend. Their food has all been wonderful and so is their variety of sauces and the escabeche they offer on the house.
(5)Quinn R.
This place is consistently awesome! Flavors and prices are perfect. By far the best Mexican option I have found thus far in oregon.
(5)D G.
Quick. Cheap. Delicious. (Burrito boys shredded beef and chicken might be just one level superior but it's nice to mix it up once in awhile)
(4)Arthur L.
Sure, my stomach hurts after but during the meal, it is delectable! They offer the fastest to go service I have seen, a great variety of options on the menu and AMAZING HORCHATA!
(4)T T.
I've been to El super burrito 3 times now, and have enjoyed it each time. It is great for the price. Although it is not necessarily the best Mexican around, for eating on a budget, it is hard to beat. a burrito will make a full meal. I have had chicken, shredded beef, and fish. I do not recommend the fish so much. I would request that the restaurant try different fish recipes, as my wife likes a good fish taco or burrito. Good service. Thanks!
(4)Amy L.
Being a white girl, I don't claim to know what authentic mexican should taste like. However, when I get a tasty burrito with fresh ingredients and great flavor wrapped up in a homemade tortilla, my mouth is happy. Tasty burrito for under $5? Yes, please! Oh, and try the breakfast burrito. Best in town.
(4)Kate F.
I'm from Calif & I have high standards when it comes to Mexican food. It's close to my home. had the taquitos today. There were 4 taquitos with quacamole & sour cream. They tasted authentic, were light, crispy & not greasy. Came with healthy portions of decent rice & beans. All for $6.50. And, it's not in some "strip mall" way over town, Glenwoods & Metropole Bakery is in the same "strip". And Market of Choice is just down the street. Try it! For the BEST Mexican food ever, go to El Palomar in downtown Santa Cruz, CA
(4)Bobbi H.
I gave El Super Burrito 5 stars based solely on their Chili Relleno Taco. The Relleno is done correctly. Every time I have gone to a Mexican place in Eugene I have a Chili Relleno for the past 36 years since moving up from San Diego. The only way I have ever eaten a truly magnificent Chili Relleno is when I make them at home. Don't any of the Hispanic cooks know you have to whip the egg whites first and then fold them into a light batter. All, and I mean all Mexican places in town serve something like a plain egg omelet with a chili inside. Chapala's has been voted the best Mexican in town, that seems incredelous to me. They're one of the worst offenders! And their sauce they pour all over it is gross, not to mention their exorbitant prices! You can get 2 Chili Relleno Tacos at Super Burrito for under $5 bucks, and they're quit tasty. I especially like that I can help myself to all the limes I want. I really haven't paid attention to the timeless of the service, my focus is on the food. My friend gets the Taco Salad each time, and she says it's the best. I do have to say that I have to wipe down my own table each time I've gone, which is a lot. They really have to do something about the conditions of the dining area, it's definitely below par. The ambiance sucks. I once got M & M's out of their candy machine and they must have. been 5 years old. When I told the staff about it they brushed it off and said they had nothing to do with the candy machine . Get real! All in all, you can't beat their prices and I do love my Chili Relleno Tacos. They really need some outdoor seating.
(5)Joey H.
4 dollars will buy you a massive sausage breakfast burrito. Good amount of sausage loaded inside. Potatoes were a hair bland and almost seemed as if they didn't cook them on a flat top even know I am sure they did. It is right on par with the los faroles, el taco grande, and el taco in the greater Eugene area. 4 stars instead of 5 because the green and red sauce were not anything special and the bland potatoes.
(4)Beca C.
Once every two years or so I have an undeniable craving for a wet burrito. Former local burrito haunts have proved inconsistent, not to mention offered a very limited selection of wet burrito options. Fortunately, El Super Burrito is in my neighborhood, is affordable, quick, tasty, and has a large burrito menu, any of which can be ordered wet, for an additional buck. Portions are generous, which for a burrito means consumption of half leaves you moderately satisfied, while eating the whole item leaves you susceptible to a mexi-food coma. I can't handle excess heat from popular Mexican chilies, and have found that this is a pretty mild place, on average, without the spicy salsa upgrades. The al pastor marinated pork has more heat than their chicken burrito, but their wet sauce is more wet than spicy.
(3)Tyron C.
Best Burritos in town, especially for the price! Their Oregon burrito comes fully loaded with your choice of meat, cheese, guac, fries, and more. Not only is Burrito delicious but its only $5 and its a very generous portion. If you happen to be in Eugene and are looking for some tasty large burritos, then definitely check out El Super Burrito they are they bomb!
(5)Damien G.
Giant servings, reasonable prices, and vegetarian friendly. Try the potato, egg, cheese and pico breakfast burrito!
(4)Anna R.
This place is pretty average. I find their chicken burritos to be not that good. But give me a beef taco combo plate and I can deal. They definitely need more help in the front and back cause every time I come in it takes a while. But other than that it is a fair dining experience.
(3)Sarah C.
Not bad for cheap and quick Mexican food. I got the Oregon burrito and it was tasty... my big problem is the guacamole.. it's awful and would bet money it came out of a tube. I would happily pay a little more money for fresh guacamole. It's so easy... chop chop chop, mix mix mix and bam! Guacamole. I hope they consider fixing this in the future and I'll be back.
(3)Kalub H.
This place is alright... Their food is kinda bland.. but its VERY affordable. If you want local, home made food for reasonable price. Hit this place up. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but its good after a game or something on your way home.
(3)Korbi K.
I can't vouch for other food here because I've consistently ordered one thing every time: The Extreme Veggie Fajita Burrito with lettuce and guacamole added. (Politely ask for their green salsa, which is free, on the side.) Consistently drool-worthy, consistently affordable, consistently speedy service. Are you not seduced yet? It's nice to know that with all of the other inconsistencies in life, there's one place I can count on for a dank Mexican dish of deliciousness. I have no clue what anything else there tastes like, so good luck with that, but that's irrelevant. I am a strong believer in burrito therapy, and I highly recommend this.
(5)Chris L.
Pretty good Mexican food. This was my regular spot until I got terrible food poisoning that lasted 3 days from the oregon burrito. #nevergoingback
(2)James C.
I went to this place when it first opened and didn't like it. I got a chicken burrito and it was supposed to have all kinds of great ingredients like pico de gallo, lettuce, beans, rice...the usual stuff. What it was was an enormous tortilla filled with bland, runny refried beans and rice that was so overcooked it was more like paste. I couldn't even spot any other ingredients because they had apparently been ground into another paste-like substance and mixed in with the other pasty, unrecognizable ingredients. It would be a compliment to call this culinary assault a gut bomb. I like my food on the fresh and healthy side just so you know where I am coming from. Not bland and boring but not greasy and over salted either. I kept hearing from friends how good this place is though. I started thinking: "Well, I went there right when they opened; maybe they got it together and the food is better." So, a few days ago I hit it again. This time I ordered the jalapeno burrito. It had chicken, jalapenos, pico de gallo, lettuce, rice...it sounded good on paper. As it turned out, I should have just eaten some paper. It would have tasted better, and I would have felt better afterward. It was another massive bomb of boring, overcooked rice and beans with jalapenos and the aforementioned paste that I spoke of earlier. I actually ate most of it because I was starving and am too cheap to waste food. I went and got a Kambucha tea thinking all of the probiotics might kill whatever was in that hot mess. Also, the chicken was funky. Sorry, I can't be more specific. Maybe their weird idea of spice or maybe it just was old and overcooked. Both times I was in this place I was the only one there, yet it gets rave reviews. Weird.
(1)Gregory D.
Big ol' burrito for under five buck, how good can it be? The answer is pretty darn good. Is it mind blowing? Of course not, it's a burrito! I ordered the super burrito which had a deep fried chili relleno in it. That was a new one on me. Flavor was good but when I got halfway through the whole pepper ripped out on a bite. A problem easily fixed with a knife or even kitchen shears. There is no lettuce in their burritos, but hay it's only $4.75. They have green and red sauce that do the job of adding some flavor. Chips and salsa are house made and the salsa was good. Super burritos? Not really. Super deal? Very much so. I urge everyone to go and eat there before they realize that they need to raise their prices.
(3)Patty M.
Most authentic and 'so cal' Mexican food I've been able to find in Eugene. Super tasty but also really greasy- I always love it while I'm eating but most of their dishes end up upsetting my sensitive stomach.
(3)Elizabeth R.
It's ok - I've had better. However, since its Eugene, its better than some other burrito places in town. WARNING: just make sure they give you what you ORDER - I had an awful experience here ordering a burrito with cheese, beans and avocados. I got it home, ate it, and there was no avocados in it...but wait..one tiny little slices stuffed way at the bottom of it. What a rip, plus they charged me extra for avocados. So be careful....
(2)Daisy G.
Called to get an order for pick up, I wasn't even done and the girl said "OK bye" then hung up on me. When I called back to finish the order she just rudely put me on hold. I asked to speak to the manager and she put me on the phone with someone who didn't even sound like they were in charge of anything. I ended up cancelling my order. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!
(1)Heather S.
It was good. I had the taquitos and I'm used to ordering them 5 in an order. These only came 2 in an order, but were really good and fresh. They are also a bit bigger than the ones that Im used to from San Diego. Overall, good experience.
(4)Richard B.
Love the burritos, have had the jalapeno burrito and the super, aside from the egg in the super (egg?) everything is awesome! Awesome I tells ya! Try it, I know you'll find something to love. Very cost effective too.
(4)Ale K.
I had been wanting carne asada for months. I finally got real carne asada. The cut of beef that they used is authentic. Beef that is used for shredding is NOT what should be used for carne asada and yet many places in Oregon do just that. My husband, son and I all ate for less than $20. The bean and cheese burritos are HUGE and only cost $3. The carne asada fries were amazing. Not too greasy and plenty of meat, cheese and sour cream (we asked for them without the beans). The lengua tacos had large chunks of meat instead of small diced pieces that most other places give you. Mexican coke is the way to go if they offer it instead of fountain drinks. My only complaint is that the food is lacking in salt. Better seasoned food would have gotten a 5th star. We will definitely be repeat customers!!
(4)Tricia H.
Ordered the cheese enchilada plate with chicken. Some chicken was shredded and some huge chunks. Flavor was pretty good but biting into a small chicken bone was unexpected and not pleasant. Nice big slices of fresh avocado was nice. Lots of food for the price but nothing real special.
(3)Amanda C.
The burritos were big and pretty good, especially for the price. They were also speedy. However, the young woman at the counter was extremely rude, which is disappointing.
(3)amanda b.
My husband and I have tried this place twice and really enjoyed it. We were there on their opening day and tried their fish taco. This was a definite winner! The second time was for a breakfast burritos. We tried the Chorizo and egg BB and it was huge and yummy! I wont need lunch! The prices are cheap and the food is good. The burritos are huge and they offer them smothered in a red sauce which I definitely recommend! The owners work every day and have a hand in every dish put out. For the college student low on money this is an awesome deal! Try it :)
(4)Emily S.
Glad that El Super Burrito came to the neighborhood. I can't imagine how they will keep their prices so low - those are some huge ass burritos and a good condiment bar. I had the El Super Burrito and it was good - not mind blowing, but good. Hubby had something like the fancy veggie burrito and oddly I thought it was more flavorful than mine. The veggie burrito had broccoli, zucchini and other veggies. I saw a plate of nachos go by that was massive for $5.50 and I think I'll be back soon to try that too. Seems like a nice family venture and I dig that they use real plates and re-useable cups!
(3)Mary H.
After many visits here it is time to publicly declare my love of El Super Burrito. We went on the day it opened and received our delicious free taco. I really can't say good enough things about this place. We've tried 6 different burritos between us over three visits and every single one was just as delicious as the first. Their quality of meat is supreme along with their other ingredients. They have two home made sauces, one green and one red, both incredibly delicious. AND the price here is fantastic - most burritos are $4.50 or $5.50. As badly as I want to keep this place a secret, it is so good it needs recognition and business so I can eat here forever.
(5)Lee W.
Ehhhhhhhh. I got the chile verde burrito today and was pretty unimpressed. I thought this visit would lend a star bump but left thinking I might have to subtract a star. The burrito was a hot juicy mess but didn't have much of any flavor or texture. If I wanted to eat mushy mexican food I'd run it through a blender. The girl at the front counter has been nice on both visits.
(3)M. E.
I'm not sure what justifies the average four-star rating of this place. Perhaps it is the fact that you do get a lot of food for pretty cheap-- $4.50 for a filling burrito. But for the price, you pretty much get what you pay for. Despite its name, El Super Burrito's burritos aren't all that flavorful. Plus, and don't forget this part, you have to drive out to a strip mall on Williamette to get it. As much I hate to say it, El Super Burrito has nothing on Chipotle-- or even Qdoba. Both cost a buck or two more, and for that small price you get the same amount of burrito, but with better meats, fresher salsas and a tastier overall burrito experience. Given these high-quality, affordable alternatives, a place like El Super Burrito just should not be in business. But like so many other restaurants in Eugene, that doesn't seem to stop it.
(2)Adrian L.
Been back a few times, had some other items. Actually, I went with my mom to 4 different places in town tasting tamales to pick a caterer for their New Year's Day party, and El Super Burrito's were far and away the best. Fantastic big chunks of pork in chile verde. When a Mexican restaurant only makes pork tamales, it's a mark of authenticity. Still, they need to have some ice cold Pacifico on hand.

I have some cousins that live in Eugene. At least that is what Iwas raised believing. They lived in the same valley in Wyoming as we did and while my dad had actually blood ties with the family it was a bit of a stretch to say I had direct blood ties with them. In those small communities if you dig deep enough everyone is related everyone else. Still I have fond memories with the times I spent with this family and we all consider ourselves cousins still. Since I live so much closer to them now I have made an unofficial tradition of seeing them at least once a year. So of course this involves lots of visiting and catching up and of course eating out. Since I do not know Eugene very well at all I could not offer my two cents as to where to go but on one such visit, El Super Burrito came up. At the time it did not win out but I wanted to come back and give this place a try and I finally did! Eugene is a big college town and almost every such town seems to have the "very inexpensive but very large burrito" places and El Super Burrito was one of them. When I walked in the place was very popular. There was a line almost going out the door but not quite. That gave me plenty of time to mull over the large menu as to what I wanted. I decided on getting the Chile Relleno Burrito. It was on their vegetarian menu. The burrito was good and fresh and the Chile Relleno added a nice kick to the overall climate of the burrito. Bonus points for creativity! I saw that they had a Chile Relleno Taco as well but the burrito more than filled me up. While El Super Burrito may not necessarily be the most authentic Mexican restaurant in town the ingredients are fresh and the menu items have a good overall flavor to them!
(4)Adam R.
If you somehow end up in eugene Oregon you gotta swing by el super burrito. Get the Oregon burrito. With the curly fries. Very cheap and good food.
(4)Matt H.
Family and I moved from Southern California a little over a year ago and knew we would miss the great Mexican Food...we just didn't know how much. Tried all the other 'Burrito -fill-in-the-blank' places in Eugene that people said were great. They might be awesome if you've never had really good, authentic, fresh, flavorful Mexican takeout, but, at least for us, everything we ate just made us miss the Mexican food we left behind. El Super Burrito has restored our faith in Eugene, if not humanity. The burritos, tortas and tacos are consistently awesome (been here about 10 times so far). The service is consistently poor, but, that basically means everyone who takes your order has the personality of a roof shingle. They take your money, they give you your food, every time. So, it's hard to ask for more than that from a dive (which is a good thing) Mexican joint. Oregon Burrito, Chile Relleno Torta and Jalepeno Burrito are our favorites. Eat here, it's great.
(4)Apple F.
The food is a greasy and not the highest quality but that's because the prices are so low. and I mean low, like 5 bucks for a big burrito. I don't know why they have fries in some of the burritos. An Oregon thing maybe. It would probably be good late night drunken food but it always hits my gut like a brick. Which is not always a bad thing. It's pretty tasty. They serve you really fast and are very nice and if you can get out without overeating you will enjoy it more.

Not a huge fan of the way it looks but that didn't reflect in the food. The food is properly cooked! Its taste is closer to actual Mexican food in Eugene than other places. I recommend this place even if it is tiny.
(4)Nichole O.
The food is good. Fast and friendly service. Cheap. You can get a veggie burrito for $4. Can't go wrong! The hot sauce is awesome.
(4)Noway J.
So much food for the price! I love the Oregon burrito! They have a huge menu and everything I've tried has been good.
(4)Paul E.
perfect and affordable burritos (5 bucks)! not the nicest interior, but it in no way obstructs the bliss in these burritos. tried shrimps, steak and three meats burrito, all of them close to perfection.
(5)Silv-dog D.
Wildly inconsistent. Incredibly rude wait staff. I am not kidding. Expect short snappy questions and responses. But... they do make a decent burrito every once in a while. Also, the food is pretty cheap.
(3)Kyle L.
Good burritos! They're huge portions for only 5 dollars! I Looove this place, I always order the Oregon Burrito. So much flavor packed into a burrito!!
(5)Josh G.
I am a burrito connoisseur, and this is the best burrito joint in town! Hands down! I eat here at least twice a week!
(5)Samantha S.
This place is okay. Not super great, but not horrible. If I was in the area and hankering for Mexican, I'd probably stop here again. Meals under 10 bucks, and when I went it wasn't too terribly crowded.
(3)Astrid B.
Nachos are super delicious, super cheap. Lots of veggie options.
(4)Janet H.
So glad to have decent Mexican back in the neighborhood since the departure of La Fina! These aren't quite up to the very best burritos I've had (taco truck kitty-corner from the Fruitvale BART station, Oakland, CA), but they're close: spicy, fresh-tasting, and with a good selection of meats - even lengua, my favorite, which I'd given up on finding in Eugene. My only suggestion would be a choice of beans - I like refritos a lot, but black beans are a healthier and less caloric option that I'd like to choose at least sometimes. Still, that's a minor quibble. These burritos are just fine the way they are.

First of all @ M.E.....Im a former long standing employee of Chipotle. You are WAY off as far as making an uneducated statement that the extra dollar or two is worth going there for the premium "quality". LMAO, While Chipotle is a very succesfull restaraunt chain wich i do enjoy, they use soooo much salt in their food and other things i should just leave alone. I will say this, its all about enchanting someone into the frills there, quality is just what you read about on the menu boards. As far as El Super Burrito....For what they charge, it honestly is extremely tough to complain about and merely impossible to beat. Ive eaten there about a dozen times and tried many items. This is a small family run joint that does a TREMENDOUS job serving a quality product without the purchasing power of a corporate place. They make everything from scratch. (Unlike big brother places like you mentioned) If anyone has tried the homeade from scratch Tamales from this place, then you know just a piece of what im talking about. If you havent yet, do yourself a favor and spend the 2 bucks. Out of this world!! I prolly should give this place a 5 because for under 5 dollars, you can get a real meal that isnt greasy or low grade crap. They seariously cant make much off each individual burrito because the cost of ingredients vs. what you get isnt far off. The family that run this place dont just care about making money, they care about putting out a good product. And they succeed big time. I recommend this place to anyone. If you want a hearty burrito for 4.50 made out of homeade, fresh ingredients, this is it. Im not going to say its the greates thing ive ever had in my life, but again, for 4.50 its the best meal in Eugene ive had.
(4)Alan J.
Have eaten here regularly for several months now. Bear in mind, this is a mexican lunch counter. That said, it is the best one could expect. Highly recommended...
(5)John B.
Best Mexican food for miles and great prices. This California native approves.

Finally, a replacement for the departed Fina Taqueria for burrito-lusting south-town folks. They opened 4/2; announcing their presence with a giant dancing chicken suit guy on the streetcorner, promising free tacos. FREE. TACO. Can't say no. We went in and found what you'd expect for a recently opened taqueria-type joint. A bunch of tables, sparse interior decoration, and an open kitchen. I had the burrito plate which was $7.25 and absolutely massive. Wet burrito, rice, beans, fresh half of avocado, sour cream, lettuce, the whole shebang. It gives El Taco Express a run for its money. Similar to El Taco, the quality of the al pastor wasn't spectacular but with this much volume, it's hard to criticize too harshly. They also crossed wires on the free taco, giving us instead a free (massive) burrito, which I ate later that evening. No way was I going to be able to down it on top of the burrito plate. The nachos and quesadillas that I saw were all pretty huge, too. One group of diners was contemplating the calorie count of the nachos... guessing 1000-1500. In just the sour cream, maybe! We're talking 4000 calories if it was a single calorie. The full bag of tortilla chips on the plate is worth at least 1500 alone, then you cover that with cheese, and meat, and guac, and sour cream, and... coronaries. I recently stopped in again and tried the Steak Fajita burrito. It was again, absolutely huge. The only other burrito that I've seen locally that compares is the La Rockita "El Grande" up in Corvallis, and those are ten bucks. We're talking 'sack of flour' here. The fajita version was quite tasty too; significantly better than their al pastor, with a healthy portion of meat, beans, rice, guac, peppers, onions, and such all wrapped up in a hula-hoop sized tortilla. For $4.50 you are not going to find a bigger burrito in town. Now, that all said, it was the first two visits. If they can maintain the price/volume/taste ratios they'll do quite well.
(4)Alicia Y.
You really get a lot of (good!) food for you money here. Street-style tacos run from $1.25-$1.75 each and are piled high with meat and toppings. I had carne asada and a chile relleno and both were pretty delicious and filling. The burritos are massive and, as Killer S said, come with a generous portion of meat, a welcome change from other places that will stuff your burrito full of rice and shredded iceberg lettuce. Service was really fast and I liked the little condiment bar with limes, radish slices and jalapeños that I could add to my tacos. We will definitely be back. Maybe next time we'll get here a little earlier so we can try their chorizo and eggs.
(4)Barbara J.
Best cheap soft corn tacos in town. They are stuffed with meat and fixings, very fresh and consistently good. We go on average once per week. No atmosphere, good for take out. Great fish tacos, carnitas, and chicken fajita tacos. Yum! It's a dive, but food is great!
(4)James S.
(5)Q. E.
(5)Tianyi S.
(4)Jim W.
(4)Lawrence L.
(5)Maki D.
Love this burrito joint! The service is always excellent and my gosh the food comes out quick! I love that they're always open (it seems like to me) and they are ever so conveniently located by my house! Love love it!
(4)Melissa M.
Thanks!
(4)Vinny T.

(5)Tyron C.
(3)William C.

(3)Matt H.
(4)Anna R.
This place is pretty average. I find their chicken burritos to be not that good. But give me a beef taco combo plate and I can deal. They definitely need more help in the front and back cause every time I come in it takes a while. But other than that it is a fair dining experience.
(2)Richard B.
Love the burritos, have had the jalapeno burrito and the super, aside from the egg in the super (egg?) everything is awesome! Awesome I tells ya! Try it, I know you'll find something to love. Very cost effective too.
(4)Mary H.
(5)Emily S.
(3)James C.
Weird.

I am a burrito connoisseur, and this is the best burrito joint in town! Hands down! I eat here at least twice a week!
(5)Patty M.

It was good. I had the taquitos and I'm used to ordering them 5 in an order. These only came 2 in an order, but were really good and fresh. They are also a bit bigger than the ones that Im used to from San Diego. Overall, good experience.

The burritos were big and pretty good, especially for the price. They were also speedy. However, the young woman at the counter was extremely rude, which is disappointing.

Best cheap soft corn tacos in town. They are stuffed with meat and fixings, very fresh and consistently good. We go on average once per week. No atmosphere, good for take out. Great fish tacos, carnitas, and chicken fajita tacos. Yum! It's a dive, but food is great!

This place is okay. Not super great, but not horrible. If I was in the area and hankering for Mexican, I'd probably stop here again. Meals under 10 bucks, and when I went it wasn't too terribly crowded.

Nachos are super delicious, super cheap. Lots of veggie options.

Have eaten here regularly for several months now. Bear in mind, this is a mexican lunch counter. That said, it is the best one could expect. Highly recommended...

Best Mexican food for miles and great prices. This California native approves.

Try it :)
