I'm not from Oregon, and let me say that Kush is the best place to truly understand the hippy side of Eugene. On our quest to have a taste of every coffee shop locally, my boyfriend and I walked in with high hopes. Upon entering, we were instantly aware of the ten or so people casually hanging out. There was four guys behind the counter and a couple dancing to the music. We obviously interrupted something because everyone left the room into a back room. It was just us and the barista, who was somewhat standoffish. The place had a weird smell and was pretty dirty, but it was honestly the best cup of coffee I've ever had. The barista knew his stuff! It's probably a cool place to hang with that type of crowd, but not for me!

It just doesn't get any better. The coffee, the service, the camaraderie. Cush coffee is roasted fresh daily. Carefully. Masterfully. By the owner/coffee savant Josh Henrikson - whose skills are on a level above those of mere earthlings. Every single cup is perfectly brewed. Not just extremely good. The coffee rises above that definition. I don't know how he does it, but it doesn't matter too much since he continues to do it. Cush is open 7 days/week and often into the night. Regular coffee aficionados hang out and share opinions, music, poems and advice. They're friendly folks and make a simple stop for a cup of heavenly joe into a fun-filled adventure.

Damn good coffee. Seriously the best pour over I've had in my entire life. I bought some beans. My brother got a coffee, which cooled down in the car. Yet he still insisted on drinking the rest of the cup. The space = incredible. Couches, performance space, record room, old coffee roaster, patio. The barista said the guy who owns the building owns Eugene Magazine. The barista was super nice even though I was super tired. I will be back for more Eugene.

So my husband got home from work today and seeing that I was frazzled by our two little ones, he gave me a jail break! I seriously needed to stuff my face with some thing delicious and I found it at Cush! I ordered The Last Stand Off...one of the best espresso drinks I've had in Eugene in too long. It was smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. It had a perfect hint of cocoa and the subtlest zest of orange and cardamom to compliment it perfectly. I didn't want it to end. Joshua, the barista, was so incredibly friendly and exceeded my expectations of who I might come across working here that I will definitely be back. I've passed up coming in before because the crowd hanging around outside was...questionable? And I had my kids with me, and I'll admit it, I was being judgy. As far as the cronut goes, I'll pass on it in the future unless they're piping hot out of the fryer. Mine didn't look or taste good, but for $1, I couldn't leave without trying one! I will be back for the stellar coffee and service! Thanks, Joshua, you made my day, too!

Cronuts of Whiteaker! They're okay... but more of a novelty and I wish they were bigger. They remind me of crullers. The barista was one chill dude, and the "Yankee" was a much better (stronger) version of a "Caffe Americano". The art space was fun to walk through with some antique pieces and other odds and ends. It's a spacious area, with great potential for art/music events.

I loved this place as soon as I walked in. I was visiting from out of state and on my way out of town. Jake was very helpful and knowledgeable. Cush brews their drinks in a variety of methods & he thoroughly explained each, and how that affects quality taste of the drinks. I started with a "yankee" , which was the best espresso I have ever had. I'm by no means a coffee snob, but I could taste the quality. I then had a chai latte, which was also excellent and contains no caffeine (for any caffeine free peeps out there). A friend and I sat on a couch in the large main area and drank our drinks peacefully, while Jake played his guitar and sang as he moved about. Cush is a definite hangout and the other patrons were also very friendly. The beans are roasted by the owner in small 50 lb. batches. I could tell from the quality of the drinks everything was crafted with precision and care. Both my friend and I will be returning each time we are in Eugene.

Lester the barista promised me that the Yankee would be the best cup of coffee of my life, and he was right. Every single time, he's right.

I went here because I read online it's the only place in Eugene to get a cronut. I came in at about 2:30 on a Sunday and it wreaked of dirty hippy smell. There were three guys there trying to move a piano I think but they were just standing around it. They didn't acknowledge me at all so because of that and the smell, I walked right out. Dirty place. Would not recommend.

Been traveling through Oregon for days looking for great coffee. I finally found it. I had the Rio Cappuccino with hints of cardamom and lime zest and steamed coconut milk- different enough to leave one craving more... My husband loved his cappuccino as well. Enjoy it in a mug on the couch though... With a piece of pecan pie...

I hate Whiteaker shit. And yet, I like this Whiteaker shit. Step inside, see the young men and women at tables, their ponytails tied up on their heads as they tap pens on textbooks and spout off with bon mots such as, "experiential", "derivative", "meta" and "I can't pay my rent." Terrific. Try a cronut (channeling the NYC down here to EUG): tasty, tiny and $2. Try one of their cool-sounding espresso drinks. I tried The Last Stand Off, organic dark and white chocolate blended with orange zest and cardamom. What little was left after I accidentally slammed it against my car door was pretty tasty. The friendly guy behind the counter described this as a "coffee house, music space and art gallery". Ohmygawd, again I hate this stuff. Nonetheless, the little room with a turntable and shelves of vinyl is pretty cool.

try the Yankee. The staff is very friendly and if you're lucky there will be a drum circle outside. Enjoy
