I had a half rack of ribs, cucumber salad, BBQ chips plus an order of the Mac and cheese balls. I didn't touch the Texas toast or chips, and barely tried the salad. I'm so full! The ribs were delicious. Meat fell off the bone and the sauce was just the right amount of heat to make my kid smack. The Mac and cheese balls are not to be missed. Sweet corn was a surprise, but the cheese was thick and delicious. Large pieces of Mac proved it was homemade. The crispy outside made the balls easy to handle. Definitely try dipping them in the sauce. I'll have these on my mind for the rest of my life! My friend had a 2 meat plate with chicken and pulled pork. She also had the pork and beans. The chicken was not crispy, and the skin was pretty sad. She lived the pulled pork, and I did too. Even dry (no sauce) the flavor was spectacular. She ate hers on toast, but I just had a forkful from her plate. I'd love to try their pulled pork sandwich next time. The BBQ chips are homemade and tasty. I'm taking them on the road for a snack later. The house sauce was unexpected. I thought it would be sweet, but it had a kick! It went nicely with all the meats we tried. The cucumber salad was fresh, but I couldn't finish after everything else is ate. My friend said the cucumber salad is very refreshing after eating meats and sauces. She recommends having some to clear your palate. My friend says the meat is a 5 star attraction, but with everything else made it a 3. She said Texas toast was soggy and the chicken and undercooked beans were a disappointment. My review is much more favorable. I loved my meal and the atmosphere is fun, clean, and convenient.

If you're looking for authentic southern BBQ, this probably won't be where you will find it. However, their burgers are very delicious (I add cheese and a fried egg to mine!), tater tots are good (though would be hard to mess something like that up) and the house made BBQ potato chips are awesome (and I generally hate BBQ chips). The atmosphere is fun, and I love the hand washing sink in the dining room, which is always needed after eating one of their juicy burgers. I have ordered the tri-tip and was pretty underwhelmed. I just stick with the burgers when I come here and I'm always satisfied.

I hate to do it but... Here goes. I'm from Kansas city, a (or "the" depending on who you ask) barbeque capital. So, I had some expectations. I don't think I need to dress this place down In Front of all you fine people, but I will say it just didn't do it for me. Also, I'll save everyone the trouble and just write what you are thinking: "Well, why don't you just go back to Kansas City then!" Ouch. There, I hope you feel better now. PS The staff are friendly.

It's so hard to rate this! The food was phenomenal. Seriously. I got the pulled pork and gluten free bun, and it was delicious. Also, the tater tots a are weirdly great. The problem? I've got symptoms of gluten contamination :/ So if you're gluten-free as a lifestyle choice or have no problems with gluten, definitely try here!! But if you're sensitive to gluten, think twice. I'm debating whether or not it was worth the pain, because it tasted oh so good. And for anyone wondering, yes, they assured me that the meat was gluten free.
(3)Garon T.
If you like good southern BBQ then this is the place for you. Pulled Pork and Pulled Beef are superb! My wife had the hamburger and it was amazing! Meat is very smoky and tender. Worth the wait and money.

I've enjoyed BBQ in 4 different time zones--however, "enjoy" is not a word I would use for this joint. I rarely splurge on a rack of ribs, so I tend to rank BBQ on two main points: their pulled pork, and their brisket. For starters, there is no brisket. NO FLIPPING BRISKET. Probably because this is 'cafeteria BBQ' at best. Alright, they did have Tri Tip, and this is technically the North, so I let it slide... I have a trusty go-to sandwich anyway. I opted for a pulled pork sandwich at $7. Seemed pretty fair! Served with a couple of watery-tasting dill slices and some warm thick-cut BBQ chips. I added a side of the pork and beans as well. My special lady friend had a sandwich too, and opted for a side of the mac and cheese. Sad to say, but the chips were probably the star of the show! This is crock pot pork folks, at least that's what it tasted like to me. Soggy and lacking flavor. The bun was good, but the tiny daub of slaw on top was a non-factor. I tried the meat and let out a sigh, and immediately reached for the sauce. Well, hope you like a sweet and spicy sauce, because that is the only choice you get. Even at some of the most low-dollar mom-and-pop shops I've had BBQ at there are at least a couple sauce choices! Granted, a good meat needth not the sawss... but that was not the case here. As for the sides? Hardly worth mentioning. Homemade mac and cheese?? It's basically macaroni, cheese, butter, milk and a bit of flour! Make it creamy or bake it, it's still a guaranteed win, right? Nope. The cheese tasted like it was from a powder mix, and for some reason they decided to throw some corn in there for good measure. The pork and beans were basically that--some more of that soggy, stringy pork mixed with beans and what amounted to a canned spaghetti sauce (very tomato-y). Pretty worthless. I've had spicy beans, sweet beans, beans with chunks of sausage, beans with chunks of sweet pickle, triple bean blends.. all good in their own right. These beans? Didn't even finish them. Ready for the kicker? See the photo on their page captioned "Pulled pork and plastic sandwich". Highlighted with a red arrow is the string of plastic my girlfriend found in her sandwich. Looks like the end of the shrink wrap that comes on a round of ham, no? We're not fussy people, and honestly, at this point we were so underwhelmed we knew we wouldn't be coming back so we didn't even bother to bring it up. To end on a high note, the inside decor is pretty cool, and the 8-bit inspired mural outside is a big hit with visitors from out of town. If you are looking to make your tastebuds happy though, it's probably better to try another place.
(2)Sean C.
This place has an Excellent staff. The food is all ways good. I will definitely be back.
(5)Mark P.
The food is great, and it's a chill atmosphere. Not a huge fan of the chips as a side dish since they're sometimes slightly undercooked, but the sandwiches are godly.

I've been here three times now, and in my mind that's a fair chance before leaving a negative review. I want to like this place, I really do. It's just so, bland. And way overpriced. Most of the dishes have fatal flaws and I'm surprised this place has so many positive reviews. I've tried: Pulled pork sandwich - oh my goodness the OIL! I've never encountered such oiliness in meat. They must be dumping it in to their pots by the quart. It's actually kinda tasty despite this and the weird mushy consistency. But ick, my stomach was not happy after eating this. Ribs - don't order, especially for $15. Really fatty, small, and not much meat. The sauce isn't good and there's a dearth of it. They were also dry, but the excess fattiness sort of functioned texturally to balance that out. Repeat, do not order! It also comes with choice of sides, but in tiny portions. Sides - terrible. Blandest mac and cheese I've ever had. Tasted like flour. Cucumber salad was super basic and I could have made it at home very quickly much better. Coleslaw nothing to write home about, again just bland and bad. The one redeeming item at this place - the chips! So good!! Go there and buy a bag of chips to take home. Fresh made, thick cut, salty sweet BBQ seasoned. Yum. Sorry guys - I love the other restaurants in the franchise, especially Mucho Gusto. This spot should be closed with another concept restaurant opened in its place because the owners do good work. I get the sense the restaurant isn't doing well and they are cutting corners with the food. Lots of coupons and rarely busy. This place just isn't working and the market for barbecue is saturated in Eugene anyway.
(2)Sierra S.
This was such a fun restaurant to find! Clean, great environment, great service and amazing food!! Would recommend this to anyone going to Eugene.
(5)Darcy S.
Delicious! I enjoyed an excellent tri tip salad. More importantly, my picky daughter loved the kids plate with ham, tater tots and Texas toast. The employees were super friendly. Really reasonable prices. Big sink to clean up if you've enjoyed messy bbq, plus a foil and to go box self serve area. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Beer and wine also available. Highly recommended!
(5)Amanda D.
Tried this place out of the blue because we were in the area and I am definitely not impressed. The prices are ridiculous and way more than they should be. They messed up my order and had to take it back and redo it and they never apologized. Not impressed with the staff or food. Won't be back.
(1)R J.
Tried this place on a whim.... And had a horrible 1st experience. Was refused a beverage with an out of state license, but the register did not have a way to scan the bar codes on the license. The manager did try to apologize but gave sarcastic remarks as he did. Not a place I will visit again. P.S.F. for great BBQ!! Great food and environment! Love Papa's Soul Food, go there instead
(1)Bobbi G.
Best salad in Eugene....great customer service..homemade ice tea...homemade pies ..fresh. bbq..enough for leftovers... It's so nice to visit Eugene...see my son graduate and get great food!!!!

One word to describe my experience at Bill & Tim's Barbecue... YUMMY! I was in the mood to do some weekend indulging and decided upon this colorful downtown hot spot. It's certainly hard to miss, the spacious parking lot just outside the restaurant, has a really cute mural complete with a variety of farm animals and flowers. I opted to take my food to go so I made sure to check out their extensive menu online. I've never really had barbecue before so, I chose to get a variety of small sides just for the fun of sampling. The order included a full rack of baby back ribs accompanied with two sides and buttered toast, and an order of their pulled pork nachos with everything (black beans, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream). For the sides, I went with mac 'n cheese, bacon potato salad, coleslaw and pork and beans. Everything was ready to go under 15 minutes and the employees were extremely friendly and humorous. I'm a sucker for cute packaging I certainly give Bill & Tim's a thumbs up for how neat and organized everything was packaged up, complete with their adorable pig branding. I was extremely pleased with everything I ordered, and yes, it was a lot, but who doesn't like leftovers? The ribs were cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of barbecue sauce, not too sweet or too smokey, and just the right amount of spice. The nachos were heavenly, I was literally saying "oh my God" while eating. According to the menu, the nachos are listed as a "shareable" item, however, trust me, I don't think you'll be wanting to share with anyone... All of the sides were perfectly proportioned and just as delicious. The coleslaw was nice and creamy, the bacon potato salad had just the perfect hint of bacon and the pork and beans had a nice smokey spice to them. The mac 'n cheese was not too rich, which I appreciated, and even had the interesting addition of corn for added texture. I'm dying to go back and hopefully will get to experience eating in this time, as well as trying some of that amazing looking ice cream pie! Yes please! Thank you Bill & Tim's Barbecue for making my weekend certainly one to remember!
(4)Richard S.
My new favorite bbq place. Everything I've had is excellent. The variety is nice and so is the service. My family will certainly return!
(5)Melissa M.
Excellent house made BBQ chips. The coleslaw is unlike any slaw I've ever had, but it is tasty. This is the only place in town I know of that serves Tri-Tip, where all others have Brisket (both of which I love but unlike Tri-Tip, brisket is easy to find here in Eugene. I like the mac and cheese (even though it has corn in it.,) and the beans. I generally order a pulled pork sandwich and it has always been good. The only complaint I could have is that they only offer one sauce. This isn't too much of a problem for me since I like my pulled pork without sauce anyway.
(4)Paula D.
BBQ pulled pork Sandwich was good and the chips are alright. Daughter had Mac and cheese and that was good also. Just cannot get excited about this BBQ as it is just alright. The smoked flavor of a solid BBQ was not present in the pork. Cobwebs and dust visible on most of the light fixtures. Staff was very pleasant however. Please was busy as we were there in a sunny Saturday around the lunch hour. Good ace if you want something that might appeal to some less BBQ fanatics than us.
(4)Mike R.
Great BBQ and awesome atmosphere! Good menu selection, our order was served in a very timely manner, the employees are super-friendly, and you get a great value for your money. The chicken was excellent; tender but not too tender (didn't fall apart on the fork), juicy, and well done. The pulled pork and beef are top-notch good. Their homemade chips are a great side item and the Texas toast is out of this world. This is a must-do for anyone looking for good local BBQ in the area.
(5)Bobbi H.
Yesterday we made our 1ST visit to a real BBQ place, Papa Soul's. Itwas my daughter's 40th Birthday so we wanted it to be special. I had the BBQ ribs at both places, there's no comparison! B&T's were so-so and Papa Soul's were fantastic! Their sauce was far superior too. In our group at Papa Soul's we had BBQ ribs, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Brisket and Pulled pork dinner. The sides were much better than B&T's too. We had potato salad, coleslaw, corn and collard greens. the mixed drinks were super. Staff and service was great, they actually checked on us many times, NEVER at B&T's. At B&T's I even had to "prep" my own cucumber mint salad to make it edible and when I told staff no attempt was made to make it right.. Go to Papa Soul's! Why pay the same $ for soso, food, soso service and no ambiance.
(2)Christina H.
Great food and atmosphere! My favorite was the chips, guac and red salsa. Everything was great and we'll be back!
(5)Tim B.
OK so you BBQ purists will complain, but the food is still very good so just eat it! :-) I've had the pulled pork and spicy links and they were both good. They also have a house fried potato chip nacho appetizer that is odd but delicious. They always feature a whiskey drink special, and have ice cream cake for dessert. Nothing to complain about there!
(4)Sean N.
Being a BBQ chef my self, I got the ribs with mac and cheese, cucumber salad for my side's. The ribs were pretty tender and enjoyable with the house sauce. The mac and cheese is not a normal serving style but with the corn and herbs made a nice pair. The cucumber salad is kinda like an American version of sunomono. Over all I will come a gain
(4)Billy B.
Really good! Food, price, ambience, format, parking, convenience, location, little details: all good! I recommend.
(5)Cody E.
Definitely a unique and Different kind of BBQ place! Sides are awesome the homemade Mac and cheese and cucumber salad were one of a kind! The chicken was so juicy and went with the BBQ sauce perfectly. Now it's not the traditional BBQ but its 100% worth a the try!
(5)Dayla C.
Soooooo good. Tri tip is on point and the BBQ sauce is to die for. Customer service is good too. I will defiantly be returning!!!
(4)Anna L.
YUM. I literally went here twice in one week - it's fantastic. Even us vegetarians definitely still crave bbq in our lives, so I was happy to find a place that offers barbecued tofu. It was really delicious - great texture, not too firm, and the rub was addicting. I had the Smokey Meltdown with tofu and absolutely devoured it: the smoked cheddar, red onions, barbecue sauce, texas toast...heaven. I came back shortly after this first visit to try their nachos. You wouldn't expect a BBQ joint to have particularly good nachos, would you? Think again! I scarfed them down really quickly and wanted more. Highly recommend trying them (I added tofu to mine which was fun!) Bill & Tim's has a few other great things going for them besides the scrumptious food. The décor is adorable. I wanted to stay and finish my homework because I liked the atmosphere so much. Also, they offer free beverages for students - a huge plus! I should also mention that at the end of my second visit, one waitress offered my friend and I two free slices of their ice cream pie. The pies were leftover from a photo shoot they had had earlier that day! SO nice of them! I don't consider myself a huge fan of the cherry-chocolate combo but their cherry-chocolate pie was yuuuummy. I encouraged them to create a mint chocolate pie, because I would DEFINITELY order it! I knocked Bill & Tim's one star only because I really think they need at least one fish item on the menu. I'm picturing some sort of blackened fish bbq sandwich - it would be delicious. Fish tacos maybe to add to the Mexican aspect of their menu? I also think they should start making fresh potato chips in-house. They season the chips in-house which is a great start, and the seasoning is finger-licking good for sure. However some of the chips were a little soggy. I think having their own potato chips would really bump up my review! Thanks Bill and Tim's, I'll be back!
(4)Diana L.
The service here is exceptional! The waitstaff goes out of their way to make your experience pleasant. The food is even better! I particularly recommend the chicken!! It was perfectly cooked, so soft and juicy. The side of candied yams is absolutely to die for! Overall, this place is very delicious and the service was great!
(5)Omar H.
Bill and Tim's has pretty good barbecue food for Eugene. Sometimes the meat can be a little dry, but the Mac and cheese and barbecue chips should not be missed!
(4)Jenn J.
Bill & Tim's is my one of my go-to's for those "I want to eat out, but don't know where to eat" moments. I usually get a plate with tri-tip, mac and cheese, and cucumber mint salad. I think the portions are perfect, which is really rare (no pun intended) for a barbecue joint. The meat is always perfectly cooked, and I almost always drown it in Bill & Tim's smokey and savory homemade barbecue sauce. They also make a mean Moscow Mule, offer free sodas to students, and you can make an Arnold Palmer that is downright sinful. Also, the decor in here is perfect--it feels like a barbecue joint, but it's a little trendier and more "Eugene" than your average roadhouse grill type of place.
(4)Alice R.
I tried to call in an order from work and had an issue and they more than made it up to me! Food is amazing and the service turned a bad experience into a good one! Thank you!
(5)Caine O.
OK overall, but not wonderful. At least that's my summary. Paying $16-18 for a plate that you order cafeteria style puts this restaurant halfway between a real restaurant and a fast food joint. I wish it were one or the other. You can get a meal at many places for this price that comes with full service. I had the two meat plate- really too much for lunch, but the only other choices were a sandwich or a salad. I chose the chicken and the pulled pork. The chicken was EXCELLENT. It was tender and moist (skin on), and the grilling carmelized the BBQ sauce just right. I would order the chicken again in a heartbeat. (Though being a conscious carnivore, I do wonder where the chicken comes from.) The pulled pork was on the dry side- I would say slightly over cooked, and with little to no sauce applied. So this was disappointing. Speaking of sauce- I only saw one kind of sauce available and it was on the spicy side. It did have a sweet component to it, but it was outside my heat range (which admittedly, is on the mild side). Maybe they offered a mild sauce somewhere but I didn't see it, and I didn't walk back to the counter to inquire. Note to owners: My idea of two great BBQ sauces are from Dinosaur Barbeque (Syracuse, NY); Sensuous Slathering Sauce, and Honey Garlic sauce. Sweet but not too sweet, spicy, but not too spicy. FWIW The cucumber mint salad was EXCELLENT and I would order that again. The cole slaw was good. The sauce was not a thick mayonnaise style, and I vastly prefer a "runnier" sauce. When I noticed that they had beer, I inquired about a lager which is becoming a thing of the past. The hop-crazy fad that rules the world at the moment has led all sorts of restaurants to refer to hoppy-flavored beers as "lager" or in this case, "Blonde." While the hops are dialed way back, the blonde still has a flat hop finish that I have never encountered in a Belgian blonde that actually came from Belgium. This is a personal rant, because I am outside the hopstream entirely as to what I enjoy in a beer. It reminds me of the 80's when eating as many red peppers as possible on Chinese food was a Portland fad. I would give this place 2-1/2 stars if Yelp allowed it. They do many things right, but the sauce alone would keep me from returning (unless they have a mild that I did not discover). For the price of the food, I think it should be ordered and served at the table as is the rule at similarly-priced establishments such as McMenamins. And they might want to consider a lunch-sized plate that provided smaller portions of meat, but still allowed two meat choices. By all means give it a try if my drawbacks would not be yours- I think it's a good place with these reservations.

I was at the stupid ASUO street fair today. I waited in line for a barbecue food truck for a half an hour. I got up to the register and they told me they just ran out of pulled pork. Sure enough, my craving for pulled pork continued, so I biked to B&T's. Second time visiting, I had the $7 sandwich again with a $2 side of potato salad. The cashiers laughed at my story and gave me a free drink too. I was not only pleased, stuffed, and happy, but I got more food for less money than if that original food truck had enough pulled pork. Oh and I didn't have to wait 30 minutes. Super quick! I'm very impressed with this shop, even more than other Dickie Jo's restaurants (which are usually overpriced for the amount of food).
(5)Carly G.
Really good! I had the pulled pork and chicken with the bacon potato salad, coleslaw, and yams. The pork was flavorful and tender, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The sides, especially the potato salad were just as good. It also came with Texas toast, and a few pickle slices on the side. It was a great deal for $16 and I had ample leftovers! I've heard great things about their other dishes-- and they have drinks that sounded yummy, including a Bloody Mary that I'm planning on going back for soon.
(5)Larry M.
We've now dined here twice. Not a bad thing to report. Clean & professionally decorated. Local microbrews on tap. The 1/2 rack is tender & flavorful. The tri-tip has a great flavor as well. You may want to just order a bunch of their sides. I especially enjoy the cucumber-mint salad, & their pork & beans! Great prices, and good bluegrass on the speakers!
(5)Andie M.
They forgot a main course for our wedding and sent a gift card to make up for it. First impression was great. We were really excited to have them as our caterers. After giving us samples of all of their food we were informed that a couple of the items weren't available for catering. Which was disappointing.
(3)Mike S.
All in all I liked this place for my first visit. Nicely done interior with a couple of big screen tv's to watch some sports. I tried the tri tip sandwich which comes with BBQ potato chips. The sandwich came with a decent amount of beef not smothered in sauce and will coleslaw on top. I normally am not a big fan of coleslaw on a sandwich but in this case it worked very well. A hint of smoke flavor on the beef which was really tender. Friendly staff. I would go back.
(4)Darin W.
Great BBQ, Man! Not only is their apple wood-smoked BBQ a few notches above, their sandwiches are cheaper than Hole in the Wallet! Unlike Hole, at B&T you actually get a homemade bun and coleslaw... for less $$ and a genuine "real thing" bbq taste. There was a black hole in the BBQ biz in Eugene. Bill & Tim's stepped up to the plate! TRY IT OUT! Great menu! Great tunes! Great Vibe!
(5)Caferio Y.
Today I was craving BBQ and didn't have time to drive to Charley's in Roseburg, and saw that other yelpers recommended Bill & Tim's Barbecue. Thinking that Bill & Tim's Barbecue was an authentic BBQ establishment where the meats are actually BBQ'd on premises. But to my surprise, I witnessed them take my ribs out of refrig and placed into the microwave oven and then onto the grill, followed by lathering them with sauce and blackened. I didn't give up faith yet. But really, they use a microwave oven!!! The cole slaw, though it appears to be freshly made, the cabbage tasted old and woody. And there was nothing special about the cole slaw, bland at best. And the black bean, seem to be slightly undercooked and crunchy. After a few more bits, I decided it wasn't palatable any further. But the after dinner mint was perfect, it helped in cleansing the palette.
(1)Stacey C.
Good BBQ chicken! Great cucumber mint salad and coleslaw. I'm picky about coleslaw and I really like this. It's creamy but not mayonnaise-y, with a little tang & crispy crunchy cabbage. Cute atmosphere & fun country/southern style music playing. :)
(4)Valerie K.
By far one of my favorite restaurants in town. Most amazing pulled pork sandwiches. First time I was there the music was way too loud, you had to scream to talk. The food was so amazing my husband and I didn't care though. I'm glad we gave it another shot, no more loud music. Still amazing food! Parking can be difficult since it's on 13th right by a traffic light, definitely not large vehicle friendly.
(5)Tammy J.
Don't miss this BBQ spot for a great lunch or dinner in Eugene, Oregon. I am not and have never been a BBQ fan but one meal at this place and I am totally hooked. Their meats are full of flavor and if you want a mind blowing experience have their Nachos! A must eat at place in this college town.
(5)Cole D.
This place is Awesome! The service was friendly and helpful. The food was right on point. We started with the chili-cheese chips which were like nothing I have had before. Basically homemade BBQ chips with chili and cheese, it was fantastic. I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on it and the pork n beans and potato bacon salad. It all went together perfect, the bread was excellent. My wife had the tri-tip sandwich with the cucumber and mint salad and yams. The salad was very refreshing. I would absolutely recommend anything we had. We will be going back.
(5)Phil J.
Well I guess they decided to add free chips to their $7 slider sized sandwich. That was mighty nice of them. I guess they plan on making up the loss with the spam site you're directed to when you scan their QR code. If Papa's is open or Elkhorn, or Carl's Jr for that matter, don't bother.
(2)Doug D.
TRI-TIP! Smokey and rare with great sauce and coleslaw on good bread. Wow that was great, I've tried the other items and they are all good. I will come back for Tri-tip BBQ sandwich and bacon-potato salad. Best decor in town.
(4)Wella A.
Tender pulled pork, crisp coleslaw, and fast service. I think it's a bit pricey, especially compared to other BBQ's in town, but it's nice to have a variety.
(3)Lisa R.
Thank You Bill & Tim's for having gluten-free buns. and good ones at that. GF buns can be tricky and the 1 I had, held up very well. Customer service was very good as well. I will be coming back!
(4)Leisa C.
Very good place, love the atsomphere, love the theme and the employees are nice. We found this place accidentially but sure glad we did. The chicken was delicious, tender and tasty, the ribs were juicy and good, we even had the nachos! Loved everything!!
(5)Daniel S.
Two meat plate: tri-tip & turkey. Sides: Mac and cheese plus candied yams. Turkey was burnt around the edges and over peppered and over salted. Tri-tip didn't have any smoke lines and was also over seasoned and tough. The cashier had warned me that it comes out pink but there wasn't a trace of pink to be found. Mac and cheese wasn't bad, though the corn was a strange addition and the noodles were overcooked. The candied yam was tasty though. The piece of Texas toast was just greasy bread, so not much to say about it. If the tri-tip hadn't been smoked at all it wouldn't surprise me. Would like to see more love and purpose put into the meats, a simple taste test would have solved my issues. Also not having items sitting around in warming trays would probably help. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean.
(3)Killer S.
This was a pretty awful experience from start to finish. The counter worker taking our order was short and curt, not friendly at all. The pork was okay, but for nearly $10 a portion, I would expect more than an ounce or two. One of us ordered a tritip sandwich and could not finish it due to the copious amounts of mayonnaise slathered on it. Guess they didn't skimp on the mayo. Now that I think of it, the slaw had the same problem, mayonnaise does not a meal make. To top it off, I ordered a side of chips and received four, yes, four chips for $2.00. Eugene doesn't have much good BBQ but this was a new low.
(1)Avalon T.
It's hard to find good bbq in this town. This was pretty good. Nothing is close to the south in taste. The ribs were good and the sweet tea was ok. The mac and cheese was pretty great. The place has room for improvement. The atmosphere is great, but it feels so franchised. It will have to do for bbq in this town.
(3)Stead H.
This is a great place! The menu is a bit confusing at first, but I ended up with the tri-tip special sandwich of the day. It was awesome! The BBQ chips were good, cole slaw was good. All in all, a great food experience. We were checked on by a staff member and the owner during our visit. At first I missed the cornbread, but it wasn't too big of a deal when I had my hands on the chips. Price seemed a bit high, but then again, it is good BBQ!
(4)Randy L.
The food here makes you feel like you're going to have a heart attack in the following week. I understand that bbq isn't the healthiest option, but this place made me feel awful. Nevertheless, the food isn't terrible. The pulled pork sandwich was WAY too saucy. I've had better pulled pork elsewhere. The Trip-Tip salad was good - but the tri-tip was SOOO thin that I could hardly believe I paid $10+ for such small salad with so little meat. The chicken was good. I'm giving this business 3 stars because while the food is decent, the prices are WAY too high. There are other BBQ places in town - I would recommend going to those.

This isn't real bbq how can you make good barbecue if you make bad burgers and terrible Mexican food go to big stuff bbq in corvallis for some real food

Delicious food and very friendly staff. Both times I have been there the managers have come up to make sure I enjoyed my meal. The bloody mary is unusually delicious, lots of citrus and spice! Their tofu is amazing as well.

I ordered half a rack of ribs, with mac and cheese and candied yams as my two sides. The ribs had a bit of a bark, but they did have a good flavor. The mac and cheese was good, although it did have additives (which, usually I'm not a fan of). The candied yams were way too sweet, and it took a week of having them as left overs to finally get through them. My favorite part of my order was the bourbon sweet tea lemonade. It was so good! I would go back for that, and that alone. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Ok, I'm only giving 4 stars only because of the price! The food is great! The chili cheese chips are so good I could not stop Shoveling them in my mouth! I felt like Ms. Piggy herself! I stole a bite of the club sandwich it was really good. I ordered the BBQ chicken each time I have been here and it was great! I can't say enough about the ice tea most places it's hit or miss on the tea for me this was perfection. I would like to try other menu items but I love the chicken and this is coming from a major steak head!!! Now my other half has tried the other items and said they were really good!!!!

Stopped by here for lunch on our way to Portland. The setting is great with some nice picnic tables outside and the inside is in the fashion of a true BBQ joint where you order and then sit. (+) - Tea and lemonade available for a wonderful Arnold Palmer and they have to-go cups - Side salad was full of veg and mixed greens, very good - Half rack ribs were meaty (-) - Ribs were a little on the bland side - Coleslaw had good flavor but a little swimming in mayo/sauce - Beans well cooked but too tomato-ey All together a fine visit. Pulled pork looked really good so would probably go that route next time!

Decent sides. Tri tip is a joke. Very tough. Can't really call it BBQ. Pulled pork was okay.
(2)Dani P.
the pulled pork was ok,I liked the sauce at the they had at the table, was sweet and sour, coleslaw was good--different then most generic store bought kind. worth 7 dollars though? ehhhh... I differently go for the beer that I had, went great with the food.over all not too bad. :)

Where to start after 3 visits: Slightly confusing Wall Board Menu though nice/clean atmosphere for BBQ joint Friendly Staff No Brisket...should be a BBQ staple for any BBQ joint Portions smallish for price...zero expectations of huge portions but getting a few ounces of trip tip is kind of a swing and miss. Overall, Food Ok to Good Priced properly for portions, would go back. At current prices (40-50 for two on all three visits), not likely.

At first glance it seems pretty pricey so I suggest sharing a two or three "que" and then add on extra sides (only $2 a side). My husband and I ordered it with two meat options, the pulled pork and the tri tip, and had the mac n cheese, the bacon potato salad, and the bbq baked beans as our sides. SO GOOD. My husband even went back for seconds of the mac and potato salad he loved them so much. The tri tip was my favorite, perfectly cooked and easy to rip into. All of that, plus two drinks, was less than $30. It's a nice touch that all the tables have BBQ sauce giving you control of sauce levels, definitely appreciate that since I enjoy paying for the meat and not the sauce :) The walk up ordering is a plus as well since Eugene has the worst waiters and waitresses of all time.

In terms of allergy friendliness, I really appreciate Bill and Tim's more after a visit to Elk Horn Brewery, where most of the menu is deep fried in peanut oil. Bill and Tim's has enough menu choices to accommodate a variety of dietary needs -- I did fine with a (low-level) nut allergy, and family members with dairy and gluten allergies were fine here too. Prices are affordable, and service is fast. You have to remember to grab your own silverware, but that area is at least well organized, and the handwashing station is a plus. If they turned down the music and the air conditioning, they might approach perfection.

I'm a firm believer on "keep trying until you find something you like." Needless to say, I have tried, 6 times, each time different items. Each time leaving more disappointed as the last -- and with so much less $$ in my pocket (this place is expensive!) I have only gone during my lunch hour. I definitely will not be taking my family - I'm sure it would cost nearly $50+ for our family of 4 considering my lunch runs $12 WITHOUT a drink. The board menu is, well, all over the board - no pun intended. It takes people SO long to decide what they want -- because the menu is confusing. Which in turn makes the lunch rush hour the worst time to go. Food review: BBQ sauce is bland Homemade BBQ chips was a great idea -- but they are often stale tasting. Pulled pork is often "Pulled chunks" I'm glad they stuck with the homemade buns like they use at Dickie Jo's. They are delicious -- HOWEVER, uneditable the next day. (Soggy mess) Mac 'n Cheese has a great spin, adding sweet corn to the mix. (Brilliant idea!) Pros: Best loyal staff around town! There are many who have stuck through the changes from DJ's to this place! I'm happy to also hear the staff was given alternate jobs in the process of constructing this place -- because it took FOREVER! The atmosphere in this restaurant is great!

Didn't have any classic BBQ meats but what I did have was decent plus the service was timely and accommodating. The BBQ sause was good too, nice and tangy.
(4)Michele T.
Great food, great prices, the best service. Everything I've had so far off their menu was delicious. They use very good quality ingredients and the portions are sizeable. The employees are always friendly and very speedy.

Six years in TX ruined me for BBQ, so my standards for it in EUG are low. Turkey was flavorful and tender, albeit with grill marks that seemed unnecessary. Ribs for $2 apiece are not worth it - small and super fatty. The links are solid - not spicy like I hoped, but very good. The sauce is decent, but unremarkable. We had pork and beans and mac n cheese for sides, which were great. Standout was the ice cream pie, which was stupendous and a lot of dessert for $5. Loved the decor and the service was top notch. The extra charge for not-great ribs, the shocking absence of a brisket option, and a general lack of inspiration hold back that extra star.

I had heard great things about Bill & Tim's so my husband and I went for lunch. The staff that greeted you are so nice and helpful. It is extremely clean and lots of room. The service is excellent and it only took a few minutes. It was a Monday and at lunch time, so I was thrilled that we didn't have to wait long. The parking is great, and they have outside seating too if you want to sit outside. The prices are good. They have a big selection of food. Something for everyone. My husband had a Chicken Taco Salad and it look great. I had a Pulled Pork Salad and it was so tender and the salad had very fresh veggies. I would eat here again. By the way Jayson the manger is fantastic.

Love this place! Great food, atmosphere! The owner is wonderful, hands on., bought us desert! Ice cream snickers pie....it was so good we bought one for Christmas! Dave, my partner says this is the best bar b que....this side of the Mississippi...(althoe he hasn't been out of Oregon for awhile)....but he does love bar b que.
(5)Denae R.
Tri-Tip BBQ Sandwich is simply perfect. I recommend also trying to Cucumber Mint Salad as a side. If you are still hungry the Mississippi Mud Pie will not do yo wrong :)
(5)Joe B.
simple offerings, appropriate atmosphere, OK prices, good food. The tri tip and pulled pork were excellent. the sides were good too. Potato and bacon salad, pork and beans were excellent. cold slaw was OK. My only wish would be for them to offer corn bread and either collards or green beans. I did notice vegetarian options for meat. Their sandwiches and salads looked good. full bar. I will go back. BTW, Eugene doesn't have any 5 start BBQ (at least for a restaurant).
(4)Heather S.
We tried the ribs and were disappointed by the texture, like they had been sitting in a steam tray at a buffet for too long. The Mac and cheese was pretty flavorless and the potato salad which was supposed to have bacon did not have any. The cucumber mint cucumber was drowned in oily dressing and served like a soup. All around yuck. Not worth going back though I did love the idea of a sink for hand washing in the restaurant interior.
(2)Scott J.
Props - We had the Tri-Tip, Smoked Turkey sandwich and the Pulled Pork. The turkey and pork were FABULOUS making it an uphill battle for the Tri-Tip, which was quite good. For a primarily beef person, acknowledging the beef wasn't the prize meat was difficult, but well deserved! Knocks - I think it is overpriced and offers smaller portion than many BBQ joints I've been too.

I'm a college student at the University of Oregon and was very upset when they removed Dickie Jo's to put in a new restaurant here. Until I found it that it was going to be owned by the same guys I had hope for the restaurant to be (since Dickie Jo's, Mucho Gusto, and Dickie Yo's are fabulous!). Tonight two of my roommates and I went in for our first dine-in experience at the new Bill and TIm's. The man who took my order at the register misunderstood me and when my food came they brought me a chicken salad instead of the desired chicken sandwich. The waitress did not even hesitate to tell me that they'd be bringing me what I ordered and it was brought to me in a to-go container by the end of my meal. As for the salad, I am not a salad kind of girl and I devoured it, the chicken was delicious! Near the end of the meal, a man approached us with casual friendly conversation, when into the conversation he informed us that he was the owner. He apologized ever-so sincerely for the mix up on our order and treated us to free ice cream pie that they make and sell there! It was absolutely divine and I'm going to go here all the time from now on! Thank goodness it's so close to my house!

It is really hard to find a decent BBQ joint. I would consider this very average and typical In the NW. The sides did not taste fresh and like they came from the grocery store, even though they said they make them fresh right there. The tri tip was average as well. I will probably not go back as there are way to many places to explore and try out.

Good stuff! Staff and service really friendly; came by and checked on us and later told us about BBQ style differences. (Sorry, I still like to choose from multiple sauces). Had the 1/2 rack of ribs, good rub and smoke but a bit dry. The slaw is yummy with a hint of chili powder. Had the Mac & cheese, too; it was tasty and obviously homemade. They could grill that toast a bit more to make it crispy. My wife had the pulled pork and same sides. The pork was good, she rated it 7-8 out of 10. The decor is cool and I like the old (80's) country tunes. Relaxed feeling; wish I had ordered a beer or cocktail. We'll be back to try another entree. It's kinda pricey but it's meat! Meat's not cheap. Oh, if you're looking for the wet nap to clean up, forget it. That's what the cool elementary school era sink is for. Duh!

Let me preface this by saying, I love every other venture that the Westaurant Concepts people have tried. I was unimpressed by Bill and Tim's. Granted I didn't snoop around, but I did not see a smoker anywhere around, this combined with the just above room temp meats, leads me to believe that they must cook their meats off site. Please correct me if I'm wrong and I will gladly edit this review. The flavors we're good but the temperature was hard to overcome.

Good Texas style BBQ, and after living down in Texas for four years I can say it's pretty close. You can't really compare it to Papa Soul which is more Deep South soul food. Similar yes, but there is a difference. Prices ARE reasonable for BBQ and the portion sizes are just right, not too much. They just opened so they will improve with feedback, I'm sure. They also have veggie options as well.
(4)Kate F.
I had the Tri Tip. It was good (I've had REAL Texas BBQ) but the portion was too small for $8.00. Small bun, not much meat & 2 pickle chips on a giant plate. I did like the Bacon Potato salad. We won't return because of the small portions. Too bad brisket is not on the menu.
(3)Allie N.
I went with my mom and had a great experience. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ salad and she had the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was seasoned amazingly and the food came out about 5 minutes after we ordered. It has a sweet atmosphere and was clean which I liked. I wish it wasn't so tucked away or I wouldn't have known it existed but I am glad I found this place.
(4)Ben B.
We tried three times but I don't think I'll go back. The flavors are excellent but portions are small and the loud, terrible music is punishing. There appears to be only one sauce option. To be fair, I didn't ask if they had others but just used what was on the table. The take home point is that barbecue is not fine dining. It's a food you seek when you want a large quantity of salty meat. You should never leave a barbecue restaurant hungry. You can get enough meat here but it will cost you more than it would at comparable places.
(3)Ryan A.
I recently enjoyed a tri-tip salad here. It was one of the best I have ever had. Prices are fair, seating is ample, and menu variety and selection are favorable as well. I highly recommend giving this place a shot!
(5)Jeb S.
Great atmosphere and employees... Came a long ways since it has opened, work across street and will be going a lot:)

I became super excited after reading the menu and noticing that they had tofu on their menu. Yes I understand that bbq isn't usually catered to vegetarians but in Eugene, it's always a good idea. The female cashier didn't seem to know too much about the items but the friendliness of the guys working there made up for it. The tofu melt was pretty yummy, I just think it was too thick of a slab. The Mac & Chz was awesome and the cole slaw would've been better if it wasn't so runny. My bf liked his beef brisket and thought the pork was tasty as well. The Bloody Mary was plain and nothing special.
(4)Kelsie B.
I absolutely love this place! I'm from Texas and it's been extremely hard being away from good BBQ and when I noticed bill and Tim's were coming I was super excited. Delicious food! I love the pulled pork sandwich with the fresh potato chips REAL potato chips. One of my favorite things about this place is where you can wash your hands after a BBQ meal. It's like a little saloon. One of my top five BBQ places and that's a hard list to get on!
(5)Katie K.
Amazing atmosphere, I love what they did with the place. I grew up in N.C eating vinegar based bbq and spent two years in Missouri eating deliciously mouth watering smokey bbq, and I have family in Texas so I definitely know my bbq. This is the best place to get some good Southern style eats. However I wish the ribs were a little softer and not as dry but still very tasty. Mac'n cheese was awesome and the candied yams were so sweet but different from what I grew up with.
(4)Lizzy O.
It was actually great. Tri-tip steak with candied yam a little to sweet but the meat and BBQ sauce was amazing!
(4)Victoria S.
Food was horrible. Flavorless meat and the chili BBQ chips were not worth $6! Something I could put together myself at home with a bag of BBQ chips and canned beans!
(1)Jeff L.
I've been here several times and I can't say enough good stuff about it. It's been a while since west Bros BBQ closed downtown and it's nice to have these guys back. The meat is excellent, love the ribs. The sides are all delicious especially the Mac and cheese and the potatoe bacon salad. These guys know how to run a restaurant, burgers, Mexican, BBQ, every joint they open makes eugene a better place to live. There are not a lot of good BBQ places in the town and this place is a welcome addition. I'll be eating here regularly for sure. Atmosphere is also great, love the lighting and music. If I had to pick out something's didn't like it would be the slaw but I can easily see someone else liking it. The ribs and turkey both the perfect amount of dry without overdoing it and the sauce is tangy and sweet. Best potatoe skins ever, same for the Mac and cheese and yes the baby back ribs come perfectly off the bone just like you know they should. The candied yams are like a dessert, the owners are coming around asking if everything is good. I could go on but it's best if you just go down there and gorge yourself. Enjoy!
(5)Sydney K.
Fun place to eat. Nice atmosphere. Casual, fast. Staff very nice. Owner came around to greet everyone & gave our table a piece of pie @ no charge. The food was good. I had the "Que Salad" with pulled pork. The salad was a very flavorful combination of greens, salsa, beans, very good BBQ pork, and ranch dressing. Will definitely eat here again. The BBQ chips r home made and DELICIOUS! Next time will bring along my kids......I think they will like it!
(4)James B.
Friendly, high energy staff. Potato skins were amazing, but a little pricey for the small portion. Tri tip was a bit too fatty. With the lack of good BBQ in Eugene, this place is already a frontrunner for the best in town.
(3)Ellie T.
You should eat here! The ambiance is really cool and comfortable, and the food is delicious! We absolutely loved the pulled pork, mashed sweet potatoes and mac and cheese. If you're a potato salad fan, don't miss their twist on that classic! The food is of a good quality and taste, and we hear they may be adding brisket soon. We hope they do! Also don't miss a delicious ice cream pie for dessert. You can't go wrong!
(5)Steve H.
Good food and service. The owner came to our table and checked on us. Excellent atmosphere.
(5)J G.
I just had the Smokey Melt Down with tofu. It was damn good!
(5)David P.
I really like this place. The BBQ sandwich with either turkey or pulled pork is awesome and the service is great hut you can no longer add individual ribs which sucks. Their ribs are great hut I don't want to pay $14 for a half rack
(4)D F.
My husband and I have been looking for good BBQ in the Eugene area and we finally found it! The food was superb; we each ordered a pulled pork plate with sides of potato & bacon salad, mac & cheese, yams and black beans and then we also received an order of cole slaw to try out (on the house!). The only thing better than the food was the staff! This is a GREAT group! Friendly, courteous, fun and every one of them absolutely went the extra mile! When I asked if there was lime for my water, the guy at the register said there was lemon on the side bar but then brought a half of lime over to our table as well! The portions were generous enough that I already can't wait to dig into the leftovers tomorrow at lumch! We will be going back for sure and will be spreading the word about this fun, new place! 5 "thumbs" up!
(5)Robin S.
We visited Bill & Tim's on a whim for lunch. It was very disappointing and very expensive! Maybe we just had the wrong thing. We both had the one meat platter with turkey. The turkey was so dry - I tried to use the BBQ sauce that was on the table, but it had such a strong vinegar taste I couldn't do that. The sides we got were mac and cheese, potato bacon salad, and the BBQ chips. I have never had mac and cheese that had corn in it, so it took a little bit to even get used to the texture. It was OK after that. The potato salad has so much green onion in it that it was hard to taste anything else. My husband liked his BBQ chips. Both of our meals came with Texas toast. Unfortunately the Texas toast was the best thing on my plate. I'm no chef, but it is my opinion that the turkey was not smoked, but maybe had liquid smoke used when cooking. If I want BBQ, I think I would just visit one of the other BBQ places in Eugene or Coburg.
