Top notch gyros, though aren't the best I've ever had (not trying to put this place down at all). The flavor is strong, unique, and mouthwatering. However, the baklava was amazing. I would go here just for that.
(5)Audra B.
My husband thinks these are the best gyros, I think they're good, not the best. The meat, however, is extremely flavorful and authentic to gyros in the Mediterranean. The gyros are dry though, I wished there was more tzatziki sauce on them, and that the sauce had some more flavor as well. Their baklava is amazing! The 11th street location is a random hole-in-the-wall, I love little obscure places like that though. The staff are friendly and because the place is so small it's easy to strike up a good conversation with them. I'm sure we'll be back.

Besides the sweet young man at the counter calling the gyros, jai-ro's I really dug this lil spot. I say sweet young man because for the 20 or so minutes that I spent there, I witnessed his calm and kind efficiency. Business was pretty steady from the moment I walked in, til I left. He was pretty much a one man show, and he handled things quite well. I walked in waited a few minutes while the young man was making other orders, finally ordered a beef and lamb gyro with everything on it. I sat down as he was preparing my gyro and in walked a lady who was clearly a bit off (asking me what song I was singing...I wasn't singing). As she hung around she asked for a bit of cheese to go with her ramen cup that she had brought in. Anyone could be rude, and refuse her and even send her away, but that young man was so sweet and kindly gave her a little cup of cheese and bid her well. I know that I should be reviewing their food and I will, but I notice the aesthetics of establishments just as much as I do the food. And that young man warmed my heart that day. Our world is filled with selfishness and to see the simple gesture of kindness and goodwill makes me more hopeful. Okay the gyro, lol. So I loved the gyro, the lamb was tender and very well seasoned, the veggies seemed crisp and fresh (not sure if they were packaged or not) and the tzatziki sauce did not disappoint. I had initially ordered my gyro to go, but I couldn't stop eating it and thank god I didn't because, holy mess! You know when food is good when it's falling all over the place, lol. Needless to say, I'm a fan and I hope this young man is making some good tips.

Yummy! Menu is simple, with some yummy staples. Ian, was fast friendly, and fun. Talked to a local that's a three time a week drop in, legit! If you are looking for fast, filling and good, stop here! This out of town traveler was well pleased. Thanks!
(4)jennifer v.
There not the best gyros but they are very good.... the guys inside were very nice. My hubby and kids ate outside it was nice until a drunk guy that smelled like psst sat on the other establishment (laundry mat). So that ruined it for me..next time were taking it to go and eat it at a park... but u should deffinetly give this place a try. They also have different flavored sodas.. My daughter had the peach soda...oh so yummy...
(4)Ryan F.
Fun guy working the counter, gave us free samples. Best gyros I've had north of the mason-dixon line. Unexpected variety of root beer and they had my favorite!
(5)Mari M.
We were looking at places to eat and this place got great reviews on yelp. Alexander is very nice, gave us good recommendations on the menu and their collection of sodas over all a five star rating!
(5)Kyle D.
If you're looking to stuff your face with Eugene's best gyros, you my friend are in for a treat! Living a few blocks away from this establishment, I frequent it often. Albee's delivers a mouth watering gyro at a very reasonable cost (NY style hot dogs as well). Ingredients are fresh, meat is seasoned perfectly, staff is personable and friendly, and they offer a customer reward program (buy x get y). The only drawback I can think of is the hours in which they operate - closing a little early for my preference. But if you're a fan of Greek and have yet to experience this great local eatery, head on down! You won't be disappointed.
(4)Emily N.
I'm from the Midwest, and I didn't think I could find a proper gyro in Eugene, but I have, my friends, oh I have!! This place is amazing!! I'm a regular.
(5)Jenn M.
Gyro with everything (and extra sauce) was excellent and the curly fried hit the spot! ALSO LOVE LOVE the Dolmas. They were so good! Whenever I have a hankering for a gyro I will be going here!
(5)Andrew P.
These guys are the Heisenberg's of Gyros. Wife was craving a gyro so we checked to see what the local Yelper's had to suggest and Eugene Yelpers were spot on with the reviews of this place. Add our 5*s to this culinary delight!!! One of the owners was nice enough to give us a sample of the gyro meat and that sealed it for us. We both got the large Gyro's and were pleasantly satiated. We will definitely be back and by the looks of the walls that are adorned with completed punch cards - many locals know this is the place to fill a gyro craving. I know how to add photos from my iPhone but I can't seem to figure it out from my Mac. We will be back.
(5)Amanda F.
So far, the best Gyros in Eugene! It's small and there isn't much of an atmosphere. We sat outside and I was bothered by a homeless man asking to use my cell phone. Other than that the experience was nice. Staff was friendly, we didn't have to wait long and the food was really good.
(4)Bryan S.
After just two bites, I know I'll be back! I don't think they could stuff anymore meat in there! Being CASH!!! No credit cards here, I had to scrape a little change from car....lol
(4)Gen G.
This place is the best. I always drive by, but never planned on stopping. I love gyros. This is the best gyro I have had in Eugene. They even offered me samples of the meat and of their baklava, which was delicious. Not only do they have the best food, but they have the best customer service.
(5)Sarah S.
Super friendly and the gyros were great! Looking forward to coming back to give the falafel a try! Excited that yelp led me to this place.
(5)Sierra Rose C.
This was my first time eating at Albee's. I brought my friend with me. We both got the most popular item on the menu, which Is the gyro. We took them to go and ate them at home. They were delicious. My buddy's review would be " Nom Nom Nom." The only complaint I would have is they left the stems on the peperoncini and I had to pull them of myself. The guys working were nice and gave me a sample before ordering.
(4)Laurie K.
Just tried this a few weeks ago, and have been back two weekends in a row. So delish!!! Tried the dolmas for the 1st time and definitely will get again. Their baklava is the best I ever had. Sampled the humus sooo good. The hubby did not want to try it and was hesitant and guess what..... he told me I could eat that. Haha. I think another trip this weekend is in order.
(5)Lucy C.
Very good food I am very pleased with it. Great customer service. Very friendly I will be recommending my customers to go check them out.
(5)Daisy G.
For the price it's a really great and fast place to stop and eat. I think they have the best gyros and good tzatziki in Eugene and the hotdogs aren't bad either! I only wish there was more seating inside. The food is delicious and the drink selection is super awesome. I go there when I'm in the mood for gyros and am never disappointed.
(5)Jeff C.
Amazing food! Had my order ready in 5 minutes. The meat is delicious. Empire fries are great too. Don't forget the baklava, either. Will be back for more soon!
(5)Lauren Y.
Lost a star only because the music in the shop was way way too loud, and the cig smoke from the people sitting outside the market blew right in our (and our kids' faces). So not much for atmosphere but the gyros were delicious. The only toppings we had was tomatoes, onions, feta and tzatziki sauce. The meat portion was very generous and the pita bread warm and soft. We'll be back the next time we're in the mood for a gyro.
(4)Wendy C.
Good food, good prices, fast and cheerful service. And now there's a new location at 18th and City View, even closer to home for us. Hoopa!
(5)Kalie C.
Went there for the first time and even though the place is super small and not many places to sit since it's more of a Take out place, but anyways the guy working was super friendly explained everything to us and even let us sample the meat which was really good the perfect amount of seasoning on it, I got a gyro and it was so good even tried their falafel which was also really good. They do take cards now it's not cash only anymore. The guy even brought over samples of the home made baklava which was definitely the best I've ever had and I don't even like walnuts much. Will be coming back for sure
(5)Ron R.
The Gyros and Dog's are fantastic. Very large portion size and quality fresh ingredients. I am excited to see they take cards now because the previous cash only operation was the only reason I didn't come here more often. I will be back soon!
(4)Jacob K.
Great Gyros! I took a trip to Greece this summer Athens, Crete, Santorini and Mykonos; while I was in Athens I happened upon a fantastic place with the best gryo's I've ever had. Fast forward to a couple month's later in Eugene and I've been craving a gyro ever since then: Café Glendy, Greek paradise, Poppi's Anatolia etc, if they have a gyro I tried it. So one day I was out and craving a Gyro and magically Albee's NY Gyro's appears to me. This is the best Gyro I've had since Athens! Generous portions of perfectly cooked and seasoned meat, fresh produce, great tzaztiki and warm soft pita I also get a side of seasoned curly's and an America Honey Cream from the great selection of soda's! It's like being back in Athen's but with the comfort and amenities of home!
(5)Roger P.
Ordered gyro today for lunch. Read reviews on Yelp. Was really looking forward to the best gyro in town. Primary flavor: Salt. What taziki sauce? Service was great, atmosphere was fine. There are a couple of other gyros sources in Eugene, I will go there from now on.
(1)Kate A.
Super nice guy, and yummy falafel. New location is closer to home. Can't wait!
(4)Sean C.
You know how some people say that hell is like a beer volcano, but all the beer is flat? If hell opened up a gyros shop, Albee's NY Gyros would be it. Let me elaborate. Albee's isn't a terrible gyro. The vegetables and cheese were all pretty fresh, albeit no different from the supermarket variety. The vertical rotating spit is usually a guarantee of gyros done right, but unfortunately the meat is bland, lukewarm, and the texture somewhat gummy (protip: taking the shaven gyros meat to a griddle always makes things better!). The pita could have done well with some griddle treatment as well, for that matter. On the flip side, the guy running the joint seemed to be very nice. And with a few minor tweaks, Albee's gyros could be significantly improved. But until that happens, gyros hell might be your only option in Eugene if you're dead set on one.
(2)Liv B.
Friendly and quick service. Big and Delicious Bang for your buck. They had samples too! I'll be back.
(5)Rio H.
This place is great! The food is amazing and the owner/employees are awesome as well. If you want good food and great service, I suggest Albee's NY Gyros.
(5)Jeremy W.
Hit Albee's last night for a gyro and a couple to take togo. Albee was not working but the guy that helped me was great. Food was good, fresh and very big. They now take credit cards which is great. Saw a guy in line getting a NY sausage dog that looked good. I think I will order one next time. I noticed this place has a impressive selection of unique sodas. I will be back to fill up my punch card.
(4)Randy L.
Great service, pretty good food. I only go here when I REALLY need a gyro, and they're pretty good but never great. The meat is a mix of beef and lamb, not pure lamb, maybe that's what caps the taste here. Still, it's a gyro, and sometimes you just gotta have one. Like today. Moving, between loads, late lunch starving. Ordered extra tzatziki and onions, still didn't taste right. Added sriracha and salt, and it was close enough to really good that I was satisfied. Super Bowl Sunday, 49ers lost, maybe this gyro was the highlight of the day after all. 3 1/2 stars, it's never bad and usually pretty good. A little more flavor in the tzatziki (more garlic?) and a less tired meat might kick it up a notch.
(3)Beca C.
Very tasty gyro with tasty fillings, lots of veggies and good flavors. Quick service. Prices and size of gyros make this a great value. Fun selection of not-so-common sodas. The restaurant is very small and only has a couple of simple patio furniture style tables and chairs for diners who choose to eat on the premises. The owner was friendly, present and engaged in the business. There was some sort of mix-up at the register; my order was taken by an employee and it was the owner who came out to ask how I had paid and if I had received the correct change. They forgot my request for baklava, (which was the cause of the mix-up) but because my gyro was so good, I had forgotten that I had ordered dessert as well!
(3)Alex K.
I love this place! Albee is a really down to earth guy who clearly loves what he does. My girlfriend and I came in here and split a falafel wrap and it was delicious (I may like the meat gyro even more). We ate outside on the little patio and were surprised when Albee came out and offered us a generous sample of his homemade baklava on the house. It was heaven!!! He even said that it is his mother's recipe. Adorable. Overall: Great gyros, friendly service, clean little shop. It is also conveniently located next to a laundromat. But beware, they only take cash.
(5)Hayley D.
Delicious gyros, great service! The meat for the gyros is a lamb/beef mixed that is freshly shaved for you when you order... delicious. My husband and I each ordered a gyro plus a specialty soda from their fridge that is full of unique choices. For the service, taste, cost, and speed, I totally give this place 5 stars. They do take credit cards now!
(5)Alison P.
Super good Gyros! It's fast, location is great and Albee is very nice and down to earth. He knows how to make something simple taste amazing both for meat eaters and vegetarians! Check it for sure!
(5)Roman S.
i'm glad there's a place like this. the gyro meat is great and the gyro overall tastes superb. Albee is awesome and his mom's baklava is some of the best i've tried. prices are good, alas cash only.
(4)Mahla S.
Albee's is delicious. The gyros are awesome, the hot dogs are totally awesome, and you can get every single topping at no extra charge -- even on the "Jr. Dog," which is (as of this writing) only $2.50. But best of all, they NOW TAKE CREDIT CARDS. Cash-only was the SOLE factor that kept my husband & myself from picking up Albee's on our way home multiple times per week. Now that they are no longer cash-only, we've filled up one and a half punch cards in a couple of weeks, LOL. We love the dogs, but also, the only other game in town for gyros after traditional working hours seems to be Pita Pit, and that doesn't even compare. Plus, Albee is really cool & very nice. In fact, everyone working there, albeit this seems to amount to 2 people, is very very nice.
(5)Seth R.
Definitely the best Gyro in Eugene. Used to go to these guys all the time when I lived in Eugene. The guys who own the place are awesome and really friendly. The prices are reasonable, the food is good, and the people who own the joint are great, what's not to like?
(4)Ryan S.
Awesome. Best Gyros in town, easily. Beats my previous favorite of The Mad Greek in Portland. First visit you get free Baklava too! Highly recommended!
(5)Jonathan L.
Are you people out of your minds? 4.5 stars? I give it 2.5. Albee's might be the best place to get a gyro in Eugene, but that doesn't mean it is good. The freshness of the toppings and quality of the meat are lacking. This place doesn't hold a candle to Kebaba in Bend.
(2)Maret S.
This place is awesome to-go food. He doesn't skimp on anything, and I'm full for a long while after one of these. The gyros are delicious, the pitas are soft, and the tzatziki is generous. Go!
(4)Wella A.
Albee himself made my gyro. He's friendly, laid back and has good hygiene...he will wash his hands in front of the customer. Making the gyro was quick. The outcome was delicious and the junior size was more than satisfying. It's quite inexpensive, too. I'm sure my stomach somewhat disagrees with the pita (since everything with flour seems to blow up in my stomach nowadays), but the instant gratification of the meat mixed with the lamb...smoky, salty and rich....is worth it. And the whole thing is actually quite tasty. Plus Albee was good company; I once opted to eat in the small counter area by the window, which reminded me of eating in hole-in-the-wall, fast food places with kick ass food in big cities like New York and San Francisco (but without much of a view). Btw, it's cash only. I disagree with one of the reviewers that state otherwise. There's even a big, fat sign on the window that indicates this.
(3)Tanaz P.
These guys make me scream obscenities...in a good way. The service here is top notch! Everyone that works behind that counter is friendly, fun, engaging and cool as f__k! The gyros are sumptuously delightful, sinfully enormous, supper affordable and yummy as f*&k! They have fun crafted soda-pops. So go stuff your pie-hole with a gyro from Albee's!
(5)Joey H.
My wife and I stopped in, we have been craving a good gyro for a while, and just so happened to be driving through west 11th on our way to Florence. I have seen the ratings on yelp and knew we had to stop! Yelper's did not disappoint on this one. While walking in, we were greeted from what I believe was Albee. He was very attentive and extremely friendly, even let my wife and I sample some of the gyro meat and yogurt. That was great for us, I like people who are not greedy with their products, and willing to let you 'try before you buy'. It really was a nice touch! most places simply don't try to do the small things anymore. That is what makes a great business! After sampling the meat, we both knew we had to order a gyro, they were GREAT! you can get anything under the sun on your gyro, feta, onions, lettuce, tomato, whole pepperoncini, olives, and of course tzatziki Greek yogurt. This was a nice touch from just the lettuce, tomato and yogurt options. Gyro was 7 dollars, well worth it. We will definitely be back next time we are in the mood for Greek! Just one minor discrepancy, cash only. So make sure you have some cash in hand! But all in all, it was a 'great' experience.
(5)Stacy R.
This place has the BEST Gyros! The meat portions are amazing, the taziki is wonderful...I could go on and on. We were passing though headed south and saw this place on Yelp! and decided to give it a try. It is DEFINITELY worth the brief drive from the freeway, and getting back on the freeway was easy-peasy. We will most certainly stop here again when passing through. Thanks Albee, for the yummy lunch!
(4)Alex G.
Best gyro I've ever had. Service here is great, soda selection is awesome. Well priced meal. Try the baklava it's delicious!
(5)Sola L.
Ate at this place the other day and I love this place! I must have looked like a noob walking into the restaurant because the owner, I'm guessing he's Albee?, asked if I wanted to taste the meat before I ordered. I got a gyro, the meat was a bit salty, but it was still so delicious! The owner is great. He's personable and his customer service is excellent and makes me want to return for sure.
(5)T B.
Best Gyro in Eugene IMHO. Very generous portions of moist and tasty meat. Great tasting house made Tzatziki, optional olives, tomatoes, & feta. Albee is often there, but everyone I have spoke to at the the counter has been great to deal with - very friendly and fast. They also have a free Gyro punch card which is always a nice bonus. I'll be back for sure.
(5)Anthony R.
A class act. I went here for the first time this past week and just ordered the standard gyro. The counter guy and the guy who made my sandwich were both incredibly friendly but not smarmy. Perfect customer service. I went outside to eat my gyro and ended up having to pick off some of the olives--it's not that I don't like them, I just found the quantity excessive--after a bit, the counter guy came out and offered to make me another sandwich on the house because I apparently didn't like the olives. I thought this was a really gracious and kind gesture, though i assured him it was good, and the olive issue was my problem. A couple minutes later, he brought me a huge piece of baklava, for free. I didn't ask for it, he didn't charge me for it. He said proudly,"I made it this morning!" And it was some of the best baklava I've ever eaten. Around the time I was getting ready to leave, Albee himself showed up and we chatted for a bit. He talked up his hot dogs (both in the gyro shop and in his cart downtown). Next time, I'll have to try a dog. I'll definitely be back. It's rare in the generally friendly town, even, to get service this good. And the gyro was dope, too.
(4)Sophia K.
If you want a delectable gyro, then stop at Albee's because this is the best place to get a gyro in Eugene. I'm serious. I'm really serious. Albee's has hot dogs also, and those are also delicious. The dog is meaty and the bread is soft and matches quite well with the hot dog. I go to Albee's quite often and I'm on the verge of redeeming my free gyro or hot dog from the frequent-punch card. You can pick what you want on your gyro and also what you want on your hot dog. I really like this joint. I almost wish I didn't have a washer/dryer at my apartment because then I could do my laundry at the place next door and get a gyro or hot dog at Albee's while my clothes are in the wash! I'm a sucker for a good gyro and Albee's provides that. What else? You can call in an order and pick it up. When you call an order in, make sure to specify what you want on the hot dog or gyro. There is also a small patio area. The prices are real good too. Albee's just introduced a junior gyro for $4, if you're not too hungry for a full size. There are also drinks for $1. Also it's cash-only so bring your green! The owner is super nice too. He has great energy. I was intimidated by him at first, but he's a cool guy and knows how to make a mean-tasting gyro.
(5)Steve H.
Best place to get a fast and tasty gyro that I know of in/around Eugene. Albee and his brother-in-law(?) are friendly and fun guys. Always leave with a smile! They had to raise prices a while back, but it's still a pretty good deal. My preference: no onions and extra EXTRA peppers!!!
(4)Kathryn M.
I may have to start using Albee's as my go-to east coast homesickness recipe. Although I would prefer the flavor of full lamb meat instead of the lamb and beef combo, I have to say that it still satisfied the same gyro passion. The feta and veggies were also really nice and crisp and the staff was super friendly. I agree with others that the cash only policy can be a little frustrating but that's only because I've lost out on the goodness due to lack of cash once or twice. That being said, it doesn't change the fact that cash or credit I would buy an Albee's gyro happily.
(4)Dawn Y.
The guy at the counter, albert was awesome. It was our first time eating here and he was so friendly. He let us sample the lamb that was cooking on the spit. We ordered the regular sized gyro it was huge! The ingredients were fresh and he did not skimp on the meat. DELICIOUS!!!!
(5)Scott E.
Ate at Albee's last week for the first time. I had the gyro and the baklava. Both tasted fantastic. Albee himself prepared my food. He was very funny and I will be back again soon.
(4)Erik R.
Consistent quality, balanced flavors, and a filling portion. Bring cash!
(5)Pete A.
Yeah!!! Great gyros!!!' Makes me miss home! Quality is right on (true, I have only had the gyro but...) Service can be a bit spotty, but it is just a take out for the most part. I will be going back over and over and over!!
(5)Grant B.
Best lunch in town for $7.00! They now take card, so I can go more often. Love it!
(4)Bess M.
Today my other half and I stopped by this delectable eatery. We just moved here from the east coast, so I was a bit skeptical of the "NY" in the name. My hesitation was entirely unwarranted! We just moved downtown and, after a quick walk, found Albee's. We were greeted by a very friendly employee, Ryan, who had a very pleasant attitude despite working all alone in a very warm kitchen! We ordered two gyros with everything on them and picked up an order of baklava and a soda, all for under $20. Ryan let us know Albee had lived in Brooklyn and wished he's been there to say hello, and the rows and rows of finished punch cards on the walls spoke to the restaurant's popularity. The gyros were huge and relatively inexpensive. The meat was delicious, although I wish there had been a lamb OR beef option, rather than a mix. I loved the addition of feta, and the tzatziki was great. My other half called the baklava "evil" in the best way. We will absolutely add this place to our list of places to frequent!
(4)Kim B.
This place is great. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The gyros are delicious and large.... you can't beat the price for a quick lunch out. This IS the best gyro in Eugene. They DO take cards now and most gyro places serve the same pressed meat so no surprise there. For the type, size and cost - this place beats most.
(5)Lindsey A.
I am a big falafel fan and Albee's serves a fantastic falafel gyro. The gyro is huge, the food is fresh and the price is right. Almost too much for me to eat by myself, but so good that I can't put it down. Albee's is a small local business that puts out a good product and is community minded. Now I want Albee's........
(5)Victoria S.
Ya know what I like? When the owner is the one working behind a restaurant counter, with a big smile on his face because he loves what he's doing. What's even better? When the food is actually good. Albee has an amazing thing going here. Fresh produce, perfect felafel's, and simmering gyro makes for a delicious dinner. I love the walk-up feel of the restaurant and the excellent customer service. I walked in to see Albee smiling and always walk out smiling myself. The food is priced right (under $10), but note no credit cards.
(4)Xanna D.
Excellent, quality gyros. Very reasonably priced. Nice, family-run place. They even sweep the sidewalks out front. Wish it hadn't been raining because they have outdoor seating.
(5)James L.
Big. Meaty. Salty. Crunchy. Doughy. Cheap. Yes!
(4)Stuart P.
Quite yummy, and Albee was very cheerful. The gyro was large, and the meat well seasoned. I can see why he has reams of filled punch cards.
(4)Brian E.
On the bright side, there's a gyro place in Eugene. The gyros are big, if expensive - one is a meal. And, while it's basically a take-out place with some folding chairs out front, Albee is a nice guy. The food is just so-so, though. The gyros are dominated by dry, flavorless pita bread, and while Albee offers a reasonable portion of meat, what should be lamb is this unnatural pressed-and-formed beef/lamb mixture (I'm guessing 90% beef at least) that is pretty bland save for lots of salt and fat. There's a buttload of iceberg lettuce (real gyros do not have lettuce), tomato, black olives, onions, and a pinch of feta cheese, which is nice, but none of this salad makes up for the greasy salty meat or the watery "tzatziki" sauce. Albee, if you're reading this, your tzatziki sauce needs some dill, more garlic, and to have the yogurt whisked in, not blended to death, so it's not so watery. No offense, but it's just not good the way it is. You might accept these things as gyros if you've never had one before, but they are mediocre at best. The falafel tastes like the Winco brand, dried out by standing too long after preparation, and there are several better places to get falafel in town. The spanakopita is okay, although it needs more feta and less salt, an obvious food cost issue. We did enjoy the baklava, for what that's worth. I wanted to give this place three stars, I really did. I like Albee - as I said before, he is a nice guy and he is trying to give this town something different - but the food just isn't very good. I'd give two and a half stars if I could. Check it out...if your palate is tuned to the key of Fast Food, you might like it.

Great little hole-in-the-wall Gyro shop with traditional beef and lamb (combined) gyros as well as a falafel vegetarian gyro. The meat is sliced off of the vertical grill while you watch. Also Spanikopita and baklava are offered. It is a cash-only establishment, so come prepared. For $6 the fresh gyro is a warm, spicy, delicious meal. I am so glad I finally stopped in and will definitely become a regular customer. Also, in regard to the review by Brian indicating that the sauce needs work... it seems like in the past year Albee has improved his sauce recipe as it was thick and satisfactory as it should be.

Friendly, outstanding service, and great food. Limited seating available, but worth it.

We visited Albee's a few weeks after it opened during the lunch rush. There were a good number of people in line, ahead of us and behind us, yet Albee was able to provide reasonably fast service to all of us, even though he was the only one working the shop. The menu is simple; choose a gyro, hot dog, falafel, spanakopita , or some baklava. I had the gyro - the meat was well seasoned, the pita was soft, the toppings were fresh. My husband got the falafel, which was crispy outside and soft inside, cooked to order. We got the spanakopita for my daughter and it was warm and flaky. The cost was $6.00 per sandwich, a dollar too much if you ask me, since the seating is so minimal - just a few outside tables and a couple stools inside - but they do provide Sriracha and it's kept clean. I will probably go back if I get a gyro craving. Parent's Note: Your baby is going to have to eat in her stroller because there are no high chairs and the tables won't support a clip on.

Brian's review is a pretty accurate assessment. They're mediocre-quality gyros, but I thought the price was quite fair, the food is fresh and quick, and Albee's service has been great the four or five times I've been in. The baklava is addictive. One thing - and this may have changed in the last month or so, but they're cash-only. As someone who usually puts anything and everything on a card, a trip to Albee's requires some planning ahead. Wish they were open later as this would be a nice stop on the way home from the office when I'm working late and craving a meat-wich.

This place doesn't take debit or credit cards. I believe part of customer service is allowing me to pay the way I want too. Who carries cash anymore?

Went as a change of plans with my girlfriend. Instead of hitting up the grocer, we decided to try this place out. She had been wanting to for some time. We walked in and it was just one guy working (quite diligently) on a few gyro's. He said he'd be with us in a second. Looked over the list of things offered. They have a small selection for sure. I decided on the Jr. Gyro minus a couple of things. So we paid ($11 total for both of us), and waited at our table. It took about 2 minutes and it was up and ready. Nice and quick. packed with beef/lamb and toppings, it looked good. My girlfriend (who is from back East) said that it was the best gyro she's had since being on the West coast. I enjoyed it as well. Just the right portion too. A good deal indeed. I'll head back through for another i'm sure.

Authentic gyros that are delish, quickly prepared, and the owner is friendly. And such a deal, too! A $20 will easily feed 2 and leave enough for a tip.

I gotta chime in. The gyros and falafel are great here. Filling and taisty. No skimping on ingredients. It's a one man operation so it can get bogged down when the place is busy but it's worth the wait. The guy that owns it is friendly and gave us free samples of baklava after we finished lunch which was delicious.

I stopped here the other day for the first time after craving Mediterranean cuisine. This is a little place that I never noticed til I found it on Yelp. It's small and not a lot of space to eat inside on a rainy day but there wasn't many people coming through at about 1:30pm on the weekend. There was one guy working (probably Albee, considering his accent and picture on the wall) and he let us sample the food before we bought it. He was extremely nice and also provided us with a sample of baklava after we ate our gyros. The gyro itself is a decent price for what you get ($7). It definitely filled me up for the most part and I can eat a lot. You pick your veggies to put on it and the meat was very tasty. I recommend this to anybody that wants top of the line gyros.

You want to know what make America great? go to Albee's. These guy are nice, cool, and always respectable. Their Gyros are great and at great prices. Bring Cash.

Just go in, ask for the gyro with the works (sans tomato in my case), and you're set. I love that they don't skimp on any of their toppings (cucumber sauce, feta cheese, peppercinis, etc). Remember to bring cash because they don't do cards.

I really enjoyed the Gyro, I was getting on a train got one to go & it was "well" great! I find it refreshing that a real entrepenur is doing well in our so called economic times of woe. (He started from a hot dog cart on a street corner in bar central) So to all the freshmen class it's on your way to school it's great, loaded, sizeable & most importantly run by a pretty cool guy to boot. A rough around the edges New Yorker type I personally find refreshing in this little incestious town.

I just got back from spending a month in Europe and have been craving a gyro ever since I got back to Eugene for school. I started to ask around where I could find the best gyro in Eugene and multiple people pointed me towards Albee's. I was very impressed, not only by the friendly atmosphere but by the amount of food they fit into the pita! I will definitely be back to satisfy my craving for gyros!
