This is Estacada....your options for lunch are very limited. Most options in this area are going to lead to an early demise due to obesity related problems. However....choose this over the odd Chinese joint. Also there is a coffee place down the street that has good sandwiches that won't clog your arteries. Overall....it's exactly what you'd expect and you can actually get a kickin root beer float.

It was super hot the last time I was here at the A&W, about 100 degrees, and a nice frosty mug o' root beer sounded great with lunch so we wheeled into the parking lot and headed for the great indoors! A&W is a big part of my past, I grew up going to an A&W often with my parents and brothers, we loved the car hop service and that big heavy mug full of sarsaparilla based goodness. Well, I guess those days are largely gone as most A&W's have no car hop and if you want to use a mug it costs more than a to-go cup. Still, I feebly try and recapture that feel every now and then, mortality has taken one of my brothers and Dad from me and anything I can do to relive moments related to them is great. Today would not be one of those days. As we walked into the restaurant we noticed that management was being pretty stingy with the air conditioning on the hottest day of the year so far. Obviously that frosty mug feel wasn't in air. It was cooler than outside though, but not by much. There was a line but it moved well and it gave me a chance to look over the menu. It's a shame that they don't name the burgers anymore like a Papa Burger or a Mama Burger. The root beer did taste great, that part thankfully does not change. The food came up quick and was definitely well prepared and the fries were ample. As I sat there with a friend the memories did flood back from time to time with each sip. It's a shame that A&Ws don't command the attention they used to and that more are closing these days, but I commend the owner of this one, he split the building between a Taco Time and a A&W and while a Burrito with a root beer doesn't sound in the least amount appealing at least we live in a country where you are free to make that choice. In the meantime, I am still calling my double burger a Papa Burger!

Went through the drive through, took 18 min to get to the window (1 car ahead of me and they only got drinks). Took another 7 at the window for 2 cheeseburgers and a large mexifries. Not sure I'm going back, if I hit a drive through I expect to spend way less time there than if I went inside. Too hot to leave dog in car to go inside and complain too! Ugh!

Absolutely the WORST FOOD I have ever had in my life! Although my burrito was made to order all the ingredients tasted like the were days old. The sour cream tasted stale (I didn't know dairy products could become stale, but then again maybe the sour cream was past sour & moved onto stale), some of the rice was rock hard like it had been sitting out all night, & the beans were just garbage. My boyfriend equally shared my complaints about his burrito. Our dog was lucky, she stayed in the car & missed this meal completely.

Their food is disgusting! You'd think it would be a simple thing to order a bean burrito that tastes decent. Everything I've ordered really sucks. I am also a simple eater so it doesn't take much to impress me.

I've been meaning to write this review for a while, but today sent me over the edge and honestly if anyone gives this place there money there getting more than ripped off. To start with, today when I went in to get some food today, I wasn't expecting much from this place. When the gentleman behind the counter was ringing me up, I pointed at 2 burgers that were in the 3 dollar combo menu. I told him I wanted both of the burgers pictured, a fry and a drink. My total was 8.40 I gave him my card, and he handed my my receipt. As I waited for my food, I look down at my receipt, thinking the food seemed a little expensive. I picked 2 burgers from the 3 dollar combo menu, and a drink. As my mind started rolling the numbers through my head, I realize I've just paid 2.40 for a medium soda. The numbers just didn't seem right, and when I asked the guy who rung me up why it seemed like so much when I picked items from the 3 dollar menu, he his response was "I don't argue with the customer", and that was it. I don't know what that had to do with him over charging me, and than acting like it was my fault for not knowing the correct annunciation to get a good deal. It was like saying "oh sorry, you didn't order correctly, you must over pay now, not my fault, I don't argue with the customer". I was so mad, I started to tell the guy "if I was behind the counter, and I knew how the deals worked, I would take care of my customer and look out for them".,But he kept cutting me off as I was trying to finish my sentence, repeating, " it would never happen, It would never happen!" Well the funny thing is that I've managed retail stores through out Portland, Sandy, Oregon City and Canby. An never in my 10 years of working with people, would I ever stoop so low as to steal a saving's from my guest, to boost my numbers and over all profit. When I asked him if he was the manager or the owner, he spouted out "Owner!" I just shook my head, I'd been treated like an indigent by the owner of the store and I lost my appetite at that point. Really, would you want someone who just acted like a total slime ball feeding you? All I wanted to do was leave. It was such a lame experience. I over paid, and got food that was terrible, and I got to listen to the jerk owner explain why he rip's people off in a conceited way. I'll never go back, and if you live in Estacada and give this jerk your money, I'd watch what you order and make sure you order correctly or this place will rip you off, no questions asked.
