Bisquits and gravy is very good. The hasbrowns are excellent. Tuesdays are burger night and most of the fair is good. Buy 1 get 2nd for 2 bucks if irember correctly.

It IS the best place to sit down and eat in Dallas...although since it's always full, because it's so small, our next choice is Dallas Bar and Grill or Murphy's Grill. There, at least we know we'll be able to get a table. I really love the food here at Washington St, and if you can get a booth, then your set. I hate sitting at the tables, you feel like you're in the way, and that you're out in the open. My family has actually sent me in, while they quickly park (if the parking lot is somewhat full), so that I can call them on my cell whether or not there's room to sit. Just so we don't all go walking in there, for no reason.(Because it's happened quite a few times, where we've gone inside and have no place to go) Sometimes, it's not really that worth it to check, we just go somewhere were we know we'll have a table .After we've eaten at all the other places in Dallas too much, where it's a sure thing, we give Washington Street another go. This place needs a whole new bigger building and they'd be set! Service has always been good for me, but the environment is bad. Booths are the best. It's really not anything they can help, unless they built on to the building, and that would be quite an undertaking.

Great service and great food. Save room for dessert, you don't want to miss out on the mile-high mud pie!

Best "sit down" restaraunt in town

In my many years of living in the Salem area I have traveled and worked in the small typical American city of Dallas, Oregon. I have on many an occasion had to eat and simply have a drink in several of the restaurants in Dallas. Out of all the one's I have been to the one that stands out as my personal best is the Washington Street Steakhouse and Pub. The food is excellent! The service is also excellent. There have been times that the place was so crowded that service was a bit slow, but that is understandable. It also attest to popularity of the place with the citizens of the area. They have a real great selection of well prepared hamburgers, and they do a real good prime rib. Also a good selection of appetizers that in themselves make a great meal. Often my girlfriend and I share the appetizer platter and for under $20.00 with drinks it is more than enough food to for both of us. The cuisine is traditional American. They have a nice variety of food to choose from, Their pulled pork sandwich is awesome for a Pacific Northwest restaurant, and you better be hungry, it is a large sandwich. The Philly cheese steak is damn good to. My favorite is the bacon & blue cheese hamburger. The do not skimp on the portions. The have nightly specials and I have never had a bad meal or bad service which I cannot say for every restaurant I have been to or the many I do like. Oh and their buffalo wings with the celery and blue cheese dressing rivals anything by the Buffalo Wings chain. So if you are in the Salem, Oregon area and want to take a detour out of town for some good food and service try the Washington Street Steak House & pub. The one thing I love is one side is family friendly, and another side is the pub side where it is child free, and that is how I like to eat. No little snot nose whiney children pushing against your seat or staring at you like your a bug, or even crawling all over you. On the pub side in the evenings you may find a couple of young beautiful ladies, Melody, and Brenda, serving you with bright infectious smiles that make you feel welcome. Brenda told me she has worked there for 9 years, and still eats the food where she works. That is a rare thing for people who works in an establishment and tire of the food. It also attest to the trust she has in the cook's ability to put out good food. The one down side which bars them from a 5 star experience is the Karaoke that takes place on Thursday on the pub side and possibly other days . In my opinion Karaoke is a form of mass torture that should be outlawed. Nothing like a group of drunken singing patrons who dream of their 15 minutes of fame on American Idle or are hoping that Chris Chrsitoferson will come in and discover them to make a good meal turn bad. Of course if your a fan of this form of mass torture you'll find this a plus, and may well enjoy the many folks lining up to turns great songs into background noise that often make you wonder if they actually listen to themselves or are just terribly tone deff. So on Thursday the torture started at 8 pm, if you're like me and dislike the noisy butchering of good music eat early or drink enough that you can tolerate the sound of musical genocide. To sum it up the food is top notch, and great service! The steaks are great. My girlfriend is the steak eater and she loves their prime rib. But the selection is so broad there is something for every taste, burgers, wrappers, salads, and pastas, killer deserts, and breakfast.

Awesome experience! Food was wonderful! Great service, cheap drinks. This is a great Friday or Saturday night date spot. Steak was perfect. Great job Washington Street!

Went for food. A small bar catering to locals. Got cheese burger, it was pretty good, better than most places, I would go back.

The prime rib was delicious the servers are extremely friendly . The service was prompt and we we're impressed with how they were on top of things.. However it's a little on the worn out side could use a facelift but over all enjoyable

The famous Loggerburger is a FULL POUND of meat (incredibly tasty beef burger). I strongly recommend it. there are multiple options, I prefer the one with egg and ham. it's a famous meal around the town.

Menu has a good selection. Steaks are good but extremely tiny. The specials of the day are usually things not on the menu but their is no special price. We always go to the bar side because service is always great and we can watch tv.

We had a burger they were pretty good, service was ok. The place is small but the town is also small

Best breakfast in Dallas. Great lunch and dinner menu with a wide selection to choose from. They offer a wide variety of adult libations and always have the friendliest staff. The type of 'Cheers' back-home friendly service that is so rare presently. Have a special request? Making your entree to your desired specifications is their specialty. Have I mentioned the large portions and the incredibly reasonable prices? Barb is the best server in town with a huge heart, she works weekdays and is so kind and efficient, she makes everyone feel like family. Washington Street truly is the place to meet in Dallas.

Absolutely the best Pot Roast I have ever had. Large portion with the creamiest mashed potatoes. Wish we were staying longer to try some other items on the menu !!!

Not sure why I haven't previously yelped on this place as we frequent it often. Actually, more often since Murphy's has consistently gone downhill and the owners don't care to listen to the patrons complaints. Back to WSS&P...service is ALWAYS good, food is always good. My son loves the Classic Loggerburger- a full pound of meat! I've liked everything I've had there from the prime rib to the yummy breakfast eggs benedict (ok, I was not impressed by the prawns). I have to tell you though, the chicken cordon bleu wrap is Ah-mazing! Pretty much, I'm sure you won't go wrong with any choice here. I hope they keep up the good work and don't go the way of our previous fave Dallas steakhouse.

Food is outstanding!! New York steak and prawns were 5/5. Good and friendly service as well. Can't wait to go back and share with friends!
(5)Bill C.
Decent steak house type menu/meals. Service is usually pretty good for a small place. The parking and seating are the weakest things about WSS&P. Not much space inside and little or no waiting area. Roll the dice to see if you can get a table when its busy!

The food here is decent, but nothing special. Breakfast is their specialty. The smoked sausage is delicious. The beer selection is a bit limited and not too creative. All in all a decent back up when you need a place to eat.
(3)Terra M.
The food is okay, but definitely nothing new and exciting. I would recommend breakfast here! Very limited beers on tap and no happy hour menu : (
