Good Starbucks. Not too busy early in the morning. I'm generally able to avoid SB food, but end up giving in to sausage breakfast sandwiches when I need to guarantee I won't be hungry for a few hours, such as before long interviews or surgical observations. Today was one such day and it worked perfectly. The barista did forget to put in my sandwich and had to ask me what I was waiting for after I was standing by the drink pick-up counter for a bit. I really didn't wait that long though, so it wasn't much of an issue. They seemed to have a good stock of merchandise to purchase. Some was on sale. Plenty of parking outside as well.

Exactly what you bargained for: espresso made for the masses, sold for a moderate mark up, and delivered as consistently at this location as any of the other thousand locations. Admittedly, I am much more a basic americano kind of guy and actually like the Starbucks espresso. There is an interesting vibe around this location as it is attached to an Einstein bagels location which almost makes this feel more like you are ordering in a mall food court. Regardless, it's located right in the middle of downtown and there is plenty of free parking to access this corner location. The bathrooms used to require asking for a coin from the counter but is now free for better or worse as the homeless utilize this location a fair bit. The staff turns over pretty regularly but if you go often they make a real effort to remember your order.

It's Starbucks. What are you expecting? It's not the most fantastic array of beverages or snacks. Staff-- they're pretty friendly most of the time. One time they had a small miscommunication about my tea and forgot about it, so the staff gave me a free drink coupon which was pretty awesome (especially since I only waited like 4 min overall). There's also this lady there that works there that talks WAY TOO MUCH and WAY TOO LOUDLY (like these caps). One time I just went in to work on some stuff on my laptop and had to hear about her European vacation for 10 min every time a new customer was ordering, so that was annoying. Another time I saw a guy help someone and then turn around and super over-the-top roll his eyes about the customer's request. Makes me wonder if he rolled his eyes about whatever I wanted a few minutes prior. Overall I'd say they'd come out average on service. The other neat thing is that they're getting a remodel right now and they just got some nice leather chairs in the window nook. This location desperately needed more "loungy" seating, so that's cool.

I really dig both Starbucks locations for different reasons. The other one? Suited for a different review. This one? There's a gorgeous outlook of 4th, not to mention there's a good amount of outlets to charge your laptop while you work on the now FREE wi-fi (on ATT network). The staff here are particularly more helpful in the other location, adding their own tips/tricks/customizations. Black Tea w/ half sugar is my favorite non-frappucino drink. Great place to get stuff done.

Take 100 Starbucks and three stars would be fit 99 of them. They are beautifully consistent, as a franchise should be. I give this one an extra star for a couple of reasons. It's downtown and has a full windowed view of both 4th and Madison. That makes for a nice place to hang out to me. And the $0.50 refills help. #corvsmb

This one time, I was at a Starbucks in New York. The line was kind of long, and the person in front of me was taking forever counting pennies. "Shiiiiiiiiit," I said to myself. "Hurry the eff up!" So this girl moves aside, I order, and we stand near each other waiting for our drinks. She's wearing these cool sunglasses that I kind of want, and as I near the point where I'm going to ask her where she got them, I stop and think, "This chick looks really familiar." I look at her again. It was Ashley Olsen. Even the barista was starstruck after she left. I'm not even a fan, and I tell people this story. Anyway, there were no fashionable Olsen Twins to be seen at this Corvallis Starbucks. But there was a sizeable line...a line in which I happen to be second. And Fake Blonde (who wasn't even famous) in front of me happens to be taking eons to spit out her order. Maybe it wasn't her. Maybe it was Frat Boy Baristo trying to talk her up, right in front of the till, while he should have been making drinks, or at least taking orders. Frat Boy Baristo: I think I saw you last night. Fake Blonde: Tee-hee. Maybe. Frat Boy Baristo: Yeah, at Club XXXX? Fake Blonde: Oh yeah. Club XXXX! Frat Boy Baristo: You're an excellent orater. Let's continue talking about our conversation right now, in front of a line of seven others. Fake Blonde: Tee-hee. Okay! I like to talk! Somehow, the scintillating conversation ended, and I got to order. But it was another five minutes until a different baristo rolled up to the steamer to actually pump my espresso, put it on ice, and give it to me. Sheesh. Go back to your frat house, dudes!

This is your typical Starbucks in a typical college town. Maybe I'm used to the long lines with superficial niceness and semi-quick service since my colllege town had 3 locations. Everything was well stocked. Everything was clean. Same drinks, same prices. Nothing special.
