Finally, we have a real bagel shop in Corvallis! For years, the only bagel option has been Noah's/Einstein Bros, and those things are not bagels. A bagel should be firm on the inside, with a nice skin on the outside. This is because proper bagels are boiled before they are baked. Noah's, I hope you are taking notes. Anyway, New York Bagels does it right. The bagels are delicious, and they are properly made. I had a plain bagel with cream cheese (I was testing NYB, and the best way to do that is to have a basic). My husband had a sausage, egg and cheese bagel (so clearly, NYB is not trying to keep kosher, ha ha). He also had a fresh-squeezed orange juice, which took a little while because they actually squeezed the juice when he ordered it. Everything was good, the service was friendly, and the place is comfortable. It's large enough to feel a bit spacious, but not huge. We'll certainly be back.

The bagels are perfect! The service is great. The staff is very friendly. The place is clean and welcoming. I think they are still working out a few kinks, but most new places go through the same kind of process. I appreciate them being here, and hope they have a long, successful run here in town.

My daughter is pregnant and has some strict diet restrictions. We went here for lunch for the very first time and asked if the cream cheese was pasteurized. A lady with a very thick accent have her the name brand of the cheese and told her to research it online for herself. We sat down and did that and could not find any answers. My daughter went back to the counter, told the lady we couldn't find out the information online and asked if we could see the actual package as it should say on it whether it was pasteurized. The lady said it was illegal to show her the package, but it was ordered from a company and was safe. So frustrating costumer service. Not a happy or returning customer.

I was looking forward to the opening of New York Bagels with great anticipation because the bagels in Corvallis are awful. NYB did not disappoint, with the bagels that is. But the other food leaves something to be desired. Pros: 1. The bagels are good 2. The service is friendly 3. The place is lovely and clean and the music nice Cons: 1. The soup was way too watered down 2. Eggs are seriously over cooked - the omelet in no way resembled an omelet and was burnt 3. Lox is low quality 4. Breakfast bagel was fairly flavorless In summary, good bagels but they need an actual cook to do the rest well.

This is a great place of a quick lunch. Small menu with variety, which is perfect for an indecisive person like myself. I had the Oregonian and my fiance had the New Yorker. He was disappointed in the lox, but everything else was delicious. Price wasn't bad either. We're going to have to come back for breakfast.

I love this place! The bagels are excellent. My favorite sandwiches so far are the Garden Veggie (breakfast) and the New Yorker. I had the New Yorker tonight. The cream cheese I chose was garlic herb. My parents also got New Yorkers with sundried tomato cream cheese. We all thought that the lox was very good, so we do not understand these other Yelp reviewers. I will go often.

I visited New York Bagels this morning and can't wait to go back again! The customer service was amazing. The gentleman taking our order and making our bagels was super nice and friendly! The seating area is clean and new so it's a great place to sit down and eat as well. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with the jalapeño bagel. It was the best bagel I have had in a long time! It was fresh and thick and made right as I ordered it. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bacon was great quality and crispy. I also got a fresh squeezed orange juice which was very tasty. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to have breakfast or lunch! It is delicious!

First off, I have to say that I like the quality of the Bagels and the ingredients for the bagel sandwiches. No complaints about the food. The problem I have with New York Bagels is the availability of the food. The last two times I arrived on the weekend around 12:45 p.m. I usually just like to get a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese/salmon cream cheese. The restaurant advertises as being open until 3 p.m. but both times they were sold out of plain bagels and many other bagels. The remaining bagels were not appetizing to me. So, I suggest that New York Bagels make plain bagels available whenever they advertise themselves as open. It is probably the one thing a bagel shop should know. Oh yeah, they have good baklava.

I have been extremely frustrated with this local business and suggest they either do a major overhaul of their business strategy and hours of operation or they won't be around this time next year. I can't see them lasting much longer. I also find their staff and presentation to be concerning and low quality. They seem like they don't know what they are doing when you order and their product is mediocre/messy for the pricing. For a 7-8$ bagel sandwich? Sorry, I expect a little bit better quality and presentation. My frustration experience with them is as follows: They closed their entire store over this past 4th of July weekend YET they sent me text coupons to my phone through the FiveStars Rewards program I belong to saying, Hey come in for buy one get one free bagels from now until the 12th!" So my fiancé and I drove all the way there on July 5th to claim the deal and they were closed for the entire holiday weekend with a paper sign hanging on the door. Annoying. Then, I got a second text a few days later saying "Don't forget to redeem your BOGO bagel deal until the 12th." So I drove there again just this friday to pick something up around 4 pm to bring home for dinner for us. When I got to the store, they had a hand written sign of new hours of operation posted for daily closing hours to be at 3 p.m. I'm sorry, but that completely made me angry. I wouldn't be driving at the beck and call of these text deals if they provided those kinds of hours and closures in their communications. Their hours of operation are terrible and do not meet any needs of the average person who needs bagels except those who want lunch. I also think they need to be removed from the FiveStars Rewards program because they are an undependable and misleading participant. I will never go there again. Ever.

Since we've moved to Corvallis from New England we've missed having a good bagel place. Found this place today and tried it out. Service is very friendly and bagels are very good. We will return.

There's a new shop in town and it's great! Welcome New York bagels! Located in the old Albertson's mall, the shop is large, simple in decor but comforting. The owner is always there greeting folks and gives personal attention to each order. An antique espresso machine adorns the counter (absolutely beautiful and makes delicious lattes!). The bagels of course, are amazing! This has become my favorite place to meet up for coffee in the mornings.

I've been eagerly waiting to try this place because A) I'm from New York and I miss real New York bagels and B) When Noah's Bagels sold out to Einstein, their already mediocre bagels became utter crap. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to try this place before now because they don't open until 8 a.m. when many of us have to be at work. I decided to stop in today after going to the farmers market, right around 11 a.m., and I was crushed to discover that they were nearly out of everything. Out of the 14 types of bagels they listed, they had six available. No onion, no everything, no salt, none of the cheese bagels... the remaining selection was lousy. I asked if they were making more, and they said no. When they're out, they're out, I guess. I nabbed the last multigrain bagel. While I was waiting for my bagel to be warmed up and schmeared, I watched an employee go from working with food to covering the till without removing or changing his gloves. Money is filthy, people... if you touch it, you should wash your hands and/or reglove before you go touching food. The bagel itself was not bad. Price was good. The employees were friendly, but someone needs to remind the employees that gloves aren't a replacement for proper food-handling techniques.

I was so hopeful about this place. I know for a fact that being outside of New York does not mean you can't have delicious New York-quality bagels (check out New York Bagels in Houston or New York Bagel Bakery in Haverford, just outside of Philly). But these bagels just aren't what a bagel should be. If you approach them as just another bread product variant, they're fine, but if you expect a real bagel and bite into one of these, you'll be disappointed. I'll give them that they are closer to a real bagel than national and regional chain bagel shops I've sampled, but somehow it was even harder for me to stomach this failure on a smaller scale than one that is more obviously egregious.

I am so glad that New York Bagel's have opened a shop in Corvallis! I've enjoyed their bagels for years at the First Alt Co-Op, now they have their own bakery and dine-in location in town. They make seriously terrific bagels, thick, chewy, great texture and flavor, and lots of different kinds. I'm a particular fan of their Jalapeno bagel, though all the varieties I have tried are excellent. The staff are friendly, I've become such a regular there that they often start my order when they see me parking out front. They have a beautiful antique espresso machine, I haven't actually tried their coffee yet, but the machine looks awesome. The remodeled interior is very nice. This place is so much better than the chain downtown, if you want a bagel in Corvallis, this is the place to go.

This place is seriously delicious. If you are looking for a REAL bagel this is where to get it. Lived in NY/NJ for 5 years, these actually are NY style, and are the only spot in town that will suffice for some real bagels. Wonderful and fresh!!

Tried this place for the first time today, I didn't have high expectations, but OMG! They are delicious! They have a small menu, which is perfect. I had the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. My daughter had garlic bagel with garlic cream cheese. My son had an everything bagel with the chive cream cheese, and my husband had an onion bagel with regular cream cheese. I tried them all except my husbands because it was gone before I could try it lol. The chive cream cheese is bomb, made with real FRESH chives. Everything is super fresh and you can tell they care about quality. I'm going to try and go here a couple times a week for breakfast. OH! And they have FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE! Sorry I can't hide my excitement. It was so good. So. Good. Ok I'm done.

Horrible service. Waited almost 40 minutes for two toasted bagels. they seemed to complete one order every 10 minutes. woman in charge yelled at anyone who complained about the wait.

Been waiting with baited breath for this place to open and I wasn't disappointed. Haven't had a decent bagel for years since leaving a job that took me to NYC frequently. The lox bagel with plain cream cheese and salt bagel was delicious. I agree with another reviewer that the quality of lox could be better but it's a great deal for $8.50 and they are generous with the lox. Definitely appreciated a small menu - there is beauty in simplicity.
